A few pieces I completed for our discord server's first event, thanks to @runawayface ! Every week, we had a new puzzle to solve courtesy of the mysterious wizard Rasmodius with an even more mysteries prize at the end of the month 👀

The first piece was a collab with my beloved @doctor-aceus-art . It's for a jigsaw puzzle! The second and third pieces were both for a memory card game-- there were lots of people who submitted awesome artwork of the rarecrows!!

Overall, HLU's first event has been a massive success! 👌

gallagher family dinners

it's sunday! which means all the gallaghers and honorary gallaghers (Kev and V) are at Lip and Tami's for weekly sunday night dinners!

it's Ian and Mickey's turn to deal with dinner so they pick up pizza for everyone on the way over. they place bets on whether or not Carl is going to bring some random girl this time who he claims is "the one" as they make their way over.

when they get there, Kev, Liam, Carl and Franny are running around the house with nerf guns. Fiona is holding Fred while her and Tami swap baby horror stories about Fred and Liam. Debbie and Sandy are laid all over each other on the couch, mickey walking past and spitting a quick "Jesus will you two get a fucking room" as they both flip him off.

"PIZZA!" Lip yells throughout the house as he and V are cutting up fruit and vegetables to put on the kid's plates. they are little plates shaped like different animals, lip jokingly hands one to Carl as he walks past, earning him a firm "fuck off" from Carl as he brushes past him. they all sit down, talking and yelling over one another, bursting out into laughter every five seconds. Franny climbs up into Mickey's lap with her pizza as Ian watches on, absolutely smitten by the sight. he moves his hands to squeeze Mickey's thigh as the two make googly eyes at each other.

"Now who needs to get a room?" Sandy jokes, lightly chucking a piece of crust towards the two. Mickey and Carl fight over the last piece of sausage pizza, eventually resorting to a game of rock-paper-scissors to see who gets it. Mickey wins and sensually bites into the piece to rub it in Carl's face.

At the end of the night, they all file out of Lip's house, Ian's arm hanging loosely around Mickey as they make their way home, slightly tipsy off a few too many beers, singing some song that they're almost definitely getting the words wrong to before making it to their apartment, immediately falling asleep in each other's arms.

there's something about sandra bullock playing an emotionally closed-off character who is used to only looking out for herself and maybe a select few others she holds close and is a bit of a mess but really good at what she's passionate about who then goes through a series of life-altering events and ends up more comfortable in her emotions and what she previously saw as weaknesses but still the same person she always was that can be so personal-

Okay, I'm gonna reveal myself just for the red dead Beetlejuice. He looks human cause I can't do the green hair and deadly skin 😭 but hey, it looks like him before he dies so that counts. Also a picture of him and Big Sandy to go with it.

More Hidden Springs

The main park (?) in town was renovated by @webbymom - one of the Sims Daily site owners. She was also one of the creators over at the old Sims Three Musketeers site. Anyway, I did make some changes because - like I said earlier - no extra party CC was used in any of the original lots. First thing I did was replace the fountain she had with that carousel because my sims like using it. Then, in the big open area in the front of the lot, I placed 2 of those invisible skating objects Sandy made over on Around the Sims 3. They allow sims to skate on parking lots - or in this case, a park - without using those rinks EA designed. I also added the flags, MsPoodle's bike rental object, benches, more lampposts, and different trees. Plus, I edited the parking lots and used those parking meters that are in-game. In that little building she made, I redid the bathrooms, then made the other side into a very small ice cream shop. And I gave them some tables outside.

Across the street is this little B&B made by @purzelsims, called the Golden Duck. It's zoned as a resort, and she had placed the resort tower in a basement. I have the rug, so I got rid of most of the basement and used what was left for a small laundry room.

There are actually 2 floors with rooms that sims can rent, along with the ground floor with dining and check-in. But, since all of the rooms are similar, I only took pics of the one floor. She originally had them all decorated the same, using the same patterns on all the furniture. But I like variety, so I mixed it up a bit. I may go back in and reduce the number of bathrooms since currently every room has one. And in all of the B&Bs that I've stayed in, that just doesn't happen. And I'll probably change out that long, green rug in the hallway with some of B5Studio rugs.

On the outside, I added signage that Sandy created for hostels and there's even a sign with ducks. I also added that electrical box, the drainpipes and an air conditioner.

Where EA had plunked down that criminal hideout from the basegame, I decided to use the one that I think came from Barnyard Bay. So, I made this little lot, and it is now called the Smuggler's Cove and is listed on the National Registry for historical sites. Hence the concrete plague. Anyway, I used a lot of plants from Supernatural here, so honest sims can go mushroom hunting here if they want some.

This is the new town gym created by cutsocks that I found over on Mod the Sims. I didn't change the interior much at all, but I did add parking out front and placed that bus stop shelter. Inside, about the only thing I did, was delete some bathrooms and replaced them with that sauna that came with Sunlit Tides,

This is just that EA lot that came with that one stuff pack. In the renovation of this town, Purzel did make an open school, but since I'm a lazy player, I decided to use this one instead. The only changes I did do, was to give the kids more playground stuff and that soccer set that Sandy made for kids.

And finally, this is a lovely little lot created by @lilidebergerac. It's a small park where sims can stay overnight in treehouses. About the only thing I did on this lot was add that archery object that Sandy created. Anyway, it's out in that area where all the weirdos live - hence the dirt roads. (Thank you, Lili! My sims love this lot!)

And then my game said, "Enough already!" and that was the end of game play for today. But right before it did, I was checking out all the lot sizes for the houses. And OMG!!! EA went crazy with over-sized lots in this world. Most of them - even the ones in town - are like 30x40. And they get bigger the farer out you go. Stupid. And I'm thinking lazy. But such is EA.

How would everyone react in a zombie apocalypse?

HENRY: Wouldn't last long - I genuinely think they'd turn pretty fast; whether it be a ground zero type of situation, or just being dumb in general. But, if they were to survive, would be a loner for the most part - most of his allies end up dead somehow...

LYRA: would probably kill herself Would be EXTREMELY weary of others, sm so she'd probably be on her own for the most part. I can also see her having 'pet' zombies (kinda like Michonne did in TWD) as a extra form of protection. She strikes me as a survivalist as well (think of Bill from TLOU).

ELIJAH: Wouldn't last long either, but not for the same reason as Henry - Eli is very kind, and I think that kindness could easily be taken advantage of in a setting like this. Would settle into a commune / group setting w/ friends + family (thinking of the Jackson Community in TLOU).

SANDY: Unsure, I think it could go either way for Sandy. Knows when + when not to help people, maintaining a healthy balance. Would struggle w/ putting down friends who get infected - fully believes there to be some humanity left. Would probably be in the same group as Eli.

Screw it, infodumping abt my AEG au because I have a lot of thoughts actually

*Prefacing this by saying: if you don't like this particular show, just keep off this post

(Most) events that happened in the other two series are canon to my au, but they happened without the characters who are children and therefore quite a few things are different. All of these events happened before the children came along or while they were incredibly young. Emily has her scottish accent in this btw, her AEG voice is great but it pains me that they didn't make her scottish. The events of AEG take place in modern day (based off of small observations, and Nia knowing what an emoji is).

One day, for an unexplained reason that still hasn't been fully figured out, a bunch of little machines just...showed up. All over the world. It caused a lot of confusion and panic, stations and companies were exchanging phone calls like mad to try and figure something out. They came to a worldwide consensus: the children will be adopted out to older machines who will become their new parents, and the parents will be guided to raise the children while the humans try to figure out what the cause is. This resulted in some not so great scenarios, and a lot of switching around, some machines just aren't fit to raise young kids. It's hard for all of them, even the good parents. These are the first machine children ever after all.

Sodor became a far more relaxed place with the introduction of the machine children, most places had to put in new laws and adapt, which includes the island. They had to create regulations to protect the children as well as invent a system to keep the new families in order, to track who is whose child. For the first few years they had rules set to keep the children from working, but they quickly discovered that it's instinct for them to work as much as it is their adult counterparts. They started to get antsy being forced to stay in the yard because they're meant to move and work. They get unhappy if they have to sit around all day.

So, when the kids got a little older, they started to get small jobs with the supervision of parents or other older machines. They all became far happier and so they were allowed to keep working and helping out around the island. Nowadays they don't have constant supervision and are trusted to work by themselves, so that they can already be adjusted to working by themselves before they get older. Some voice concerns considering the frequent mistakes, but they're assured that these mistakes are part of the learning process, better they make them as little engines than as larger ones that can do more damage.

All of the kids are around 10 years old at the start of the show's events, Sandy poofed into existence a tiny bit later so she's more around 8. Ages obviously subject to changing as time goes on in the series.

A very random tidbit based on how ADORABLE the episode Something To Remember was: Yong Bao, while not a father himself, is very very fond of engine children. He thinks they're all a wonderful gift to this earth and he's always thinking of Sodor's little ones. Does frequent babysitting for the few on his railway back in China that do have kids when he's not on the job himself. ...SERIOUSLY HOW CUTE IS THIS THOUGH:

And for reference, the family set-ups I have at the moment (might be subject to change) are: Gordon and Henry- Thomas and Percy's adoptive fathers. Gordon was a bit apprehensive as he isn't the fondest of children and doubted his ability to be a father, but he ended up being a very good father. Henry is the softer one and he has trouble being stern, so he appreciates his partner's ability to be tough with the kids. Percy and Thomas are sometimes a bit more than their fathers can handle, but they're a very tightly knit family and they love each other a lot. Emily- Adoptive mother of Diesel and Bruno, she had actually always wanted children of her own and didn't mind the idea of raising a diesel engine. She's determined to raise him to have no prejudice towards other types of engines, and she does her best to help Bruno learn to adjust to new things, she knows it can be hard for him after all. Also stands in as the caretaker of Nia, who was brought to Sodor when she was about 5 years old as her original mother from Kenya ended up being unable to handle the pressure of raising a child after a few years once it really set in, and Sodor had the room to take an extra kid. Cranky- Adoptive father of Sandy and Carly, originally just Carly's father until Carly uncovered Sandy and ended up attached to her. He was very against the idea of having a kid at first, but as the only other crane on Sodor, Sir Topham Hatt managed to talk him into trying it out for Carly's sake. Now he adores both of his daughters and does his best to be there for them even as a stationary crane. Hiro- Kana's adoptive father, also a father figure towards Kenji. Kana stays on Sodor as part of an exchange program sort of deal, but she makes the occasional visits to Japan to spend more quality time with her father and older brother. Kenji does the same when visiting Sodor, Hiro tries to as well but he can't come as often as Kenji can. Hiro adores both of his children even if they're a bit fast and far more futuristic than himself, and he does his best to keep in touch with Kana. She's his special little girl!
