i was just thinking about dubbing it jimin's Official-Beanie-of-Not-My-Promotion bc i was remembering that every time he goes to visit a member's solo stuff he makes it Very Clear that he's not there in an official schedule capacity

for th, for yg's concert, for outings with nj - he wore a beanie even to see jk in new york from the airport on

it's plausible deniability for appearing on camera - he's doesn't have makeup, he doesn't have his hair done, he's not looking for the spotlight

the only time it was different was for hobipalooza bc there was no way to avoid meeting other people and being seen in the video - he could plan for that and looked great (and also i bet he'd feel it some way disrespectful to the show and hobi not to put in the effort)

like someone said he really just wants to feel like a fan, to be army, when he's not officially promoting and the beanie - along with extremely casual dress - is a sign of that

#brings to mind ladies going out with their hair wrapped #like if you see me no you didn't #because it's not a real 'appearance' if the wardrobe hair and makeup are not chosen and set #he's very clear about the distinctions - this time is my 'off' time i am not being The Park Jimin i am just being jimin #although ofc because it's him he's still so incredibly polite and gracious to fans etc #i mean he does wear beanies all the time anyway esp whenever he doesn't want/hasn't had his hair styled #and casual clothes in like run or bv eps but the sloppy tshirt + baggy jeans or shorts + beanie look frequently signals Unofficial
