i think one of my favourite things about tos is that none of the main cast canonically get paired off. i really like that their dynamic is friends and found family, and we don't get any of them actually..being paired off. (ignore the fact i ship spirk n spones)

Look I just think that if you’ve ever loved Star Trek, Like really loved it (not just had a passing interest or casually consumed it) then it’s gonna be a part of you forever. It injects a little whimsy in you. A little thoughtfulness and curiosity and wonder. I’ll watch Star Trek and every time I do I feel like a little kid staring up at the stars holding onto the grass. I’ll watch Star Trek and every time I’m sitting out sharing a sweater with my friend as we talk about Spock and the sun starts to set. I’ll watch Star Trek and it’s the same feeling of calm awe that I get when I sit in the aquarium.

Aliens aside it’s about humanity. It’s always about humanity and trying to understand despite it all (which I think is a core tenet of humanity). And if that compels you then it’s going to stay with you. No matter if the packaging is a bit silly. Maybe even because the packaging is silly.

Also once you love Spock I don’t think you can stop

i love spock with cats just like everyone and i don’t know how much y’all know about cat body language but i felt this would be important to share

this cat is extremely happy (understandable), she’s slow blinking (sign that she’s content/comfortable) and even making biscuits a little bit (the way she clenched her paws like she’s kneading, another sign of comfort/that she trusts the person she’s with)

and i can’t find any other clips but you can tell the whole episode that the cat actor is just so excited to be there

anyways that wasn’t really important i just think it’s nice

early tos, like the very first few episodes, are very funny to me. Because they hadn’t figured out anything yet and there is absolutely no continuity.

I’m watching an episode right now and everyone’s doing the wrong job. Sulu is doing math. Spock is translating messages. Bones is nowhere to be seen.

I just love the (1) blatant disregard for continuity and (2) the refusal to explain any of it. Like maybe the alien of the week just caught them on a cross-training day, but we don’t need to know that. All we need to know is that an omnipotent being is trying to take over the ship, and James T. Kirk is going to lose his shirt in the process.

Just watched the search for spock again for the first time in a while, and maybe I’m just a bit emotional rn but omfg dude. :( the whole “oops i came back wrong, sorry i died, sorry i dont remember you right” thing is poignant as fuck. And everyone is just happy to have him back. I fully believe spock got ship of theseused there and i dont think post genesis spock is the same guy. I feel bad for him. I know he is still Spock but it must be very discombobulating. :( and hes just like “I Need To Get My Marbles Back so i can be this guy correctly STAT”. But egeryone already loveshim:(
