Notes: I have been rewatching this movie like a psychopath
Steps to loving a fool...
People will tell you all the ways they fell for a fool and how they loved a fool.
How they whisked them away off their feet with such carefree nature.
But they also recall how it hurt to let them go at the end.
They always say a bird does not belong in a cage
Because there are many steps to loving a fool, but there are only a few key steps you need to keep in mind.
While the enjoyment and wonder of it is exciting at first a person can only take so much before they finally collapse in on themselves like a star.
Step 1: A fool is as free as the wind.
For as long as you could remember he's always moved as if he was the wind himself.
Maybe it was because he could fly and walk? on air
Being with him was like you were floating
God, to be above the clouds with him once again
To feel as free as he does every day of his life
But you've never seen him settle down, even within his own home.
Always adding a new room, or waking up in a new place with new doors.
That amazement you feel when you hear the click of the door and then the new location or sight before you
Oh is that a new book? What does that trinket do?
The fascinated look on his face always captured your attention more then the trinket did most days
His magic never failed to excite you, only brought you more wonder in what he was capable off
Every time he came through the door he always brought something new
Always something new, something that brought change within the castle
Something was always changing.
Step 2: A fool changes like the seasons
Never get too comfortable and never get used to anything.
As cozy as the house was, he was changing it to how he liked at that moment.
It would become a maze of new rooms and halls.
All the more room for him to make a mess.
Sometimes even a new explosion, opening a new window in the castle.
Yet, you can never develop a habit. Can never maintain a routine
Never able to get a schedule down
Never able to understand what he was doing
Never able to even assume what he's doing
Never able to assume you know what he's thinking.
It's only a matter of time before he changes his interest.
Last month it was simple Science
Today? making a plant into a horse
Tomorrow? Only he knows.
Markl, while a good kid, was on the back burner of the wizards mind sometimes
maybe even a lot of the times, but he always made it up to him with long lessons and studies with the boy.
Guess you weren't even on his mind now a days
You can't blame him though
it's not like you had an altitude for magic or anything.
You didn't have any knowledge from a great beyond
You honestly should've known
The first few months were bliss was him
then it became every few days, every few weeks... every few months... every few y-
Step 3: A fool is never shackled down
When was the last time you made a proper friend?
Calcifer and Markl were both a lovely chat.
But, you could only talk about so much within an ever moving home.
Sure, you've made a few acquaintanceships, but never more than that.
You didn't have enough time to make friends anyways
Didn't stay long ever to keep them either
You would leave town as fast as you came in.
Appearing one night then disappearing the next.
And the excitement of it disappeared just as quick.
Realization only hit quicker.
Watching fling after fling after fling after fling after-
What was it that made them different?
Maybe thats why he's always running away
Being around too long would make too much of an attachment
That means commitment
It means it's no longer just him
A fool carries their own burdens, they don't need the burdens of other as well
He already has his own worries
what made you think he would care for yours?
At first he was attentive, the soft grazing touches he gave felt as if he was treating you as fragile glass
Any force and you would shatter
When did you shatter?
Do you remember when you did?
Did he even realize that you did?
Step 4: A fool won't listen to anyone, but themselves
The house was a mess
Covered in waste from failed potions and experiments.
Molded food and trash everywhere, no matter how much it got cleaned
You had told him that witch wasn't good news
You said she was hiding something from him. From everyone.
Everyone could see he was gonna end up hurt
Yet, you were the wrong one
He's was in love couldn't you see
You wanted this to happen, didn't you?
For him to settle down?
You always said to slow down
Why was it an issue now?
If you don't like it why do you care about it?
You shouldn't be here anymore then
"Why do you always incise on being a nuisance?!"
You have over stayed your welcome.
Silence lingered in the room
The ever so witty fire demon was at a lost for words even
All he could do was watch as you turned away from him and walked to your room.
He watched the ground as you walked away and slammed the door.
He was about to let out a sigh before a second slam followed again.
This time a few steps away
"porthaven door..."
He watched the door in surprise, the dial clicking into place.
sighing finally he turned to the stairs
"Calcifer, warm up a bath"
Step 5: A fool only learns after they have lost themselves
He was sure you would be back the next morning
You always came back, even when he was clearly in the wrong
Even when he would spew hateful words at you for the littlest of thing
You always came back
But when morning came, the castle was as still as it was left the night before.
He realized it’s gone too far
The soft cracks in the glass finally broke
that prideful wizard finally began to break
ode to the boy who shallowed a star in exchange for his heart…
who had lost the only thing that filled the space…

Pixar’s Cars is still way better than people give it credit for
Am I writing an essay on a kids movie that fell out of relevance after the last sequel seven years ago? Yes. Is it my favorite background animated movie to put on whenever I’m working? Yes.
It goes without saying that Pixar’s catalog is still topped by movies like Incredibles, Toy Story 2, Up, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, etc. Cars sat at the bottom of Pixar’s “best of” list until its sequel came out and people realized how bad Pixar movies could actually be.
But you know what? I love Cars. Is the story as deep and moving and profound as some of the others? No. But it was made with love and after what feels like the past 8 years of resounding “meh” coming from Hollywood and some of the most shameless cash grabs pretending they’re not, Cars remains my feel-good movie. It doesn’t have that classic Pixar “cry your eyes out” moment, no dead parents, no chosen ones, decently low stakes. It’s a good time, anytime.
Why I’m writing this now, though, is because of this: I knew already that the King and Chick were based off real racers, and Lightning’s “McQueen” is another homage, but I looked up if Doc was also based on a famous racer during my last rewatch and found this on Wikipedia:
Doc’s car model, the Hudson Hornet, was manufactured from 1951-1953 for its original run. In 1954, its manufacturer merged with another company and the Hornet was heavily remodeled to boost sales, only the popularity of the car never recovered. It stayed in production until ‘57. It was used in racing and that’s where Doc’s paint job in the finale draws inspiration.
But do you remember what his backstory is? 3 back-to-back Piston Cups from ‘51-’53, a crash in ‘54 that saw him rebuilt, and obsolescence upon his return.
People complain that they “didn’t need to be cars” in this movie. They’re not like the toys in Toy Story where the plot and message depends on them not being human. They’re not like the fish in Finding Nemo. They could have just been humans who drive race cars and it raises more questions than it answers.
You are wrong, Sir.
Doc’s backstory is why they had to be cars. They aren’t human because the story depends on them being machines – as Cars 3 explores more deeply. A human endurance runner can train to be the fastest, running against other humans with the same chances at success (ignoring steroids and socioeconomic opportunity). Humans aren’t running foot races against mutants or aliens where, no matter what we do, we will lose by nature of what we are.
Cars do. A car model is beholden to its manufacturing and all the complications that come with it. Cars are objects that, like toys, have obsolescence built into them. There is no “outdated” way to run a foot race.
So yes, Doc has a Tragic Backstory(tm) but it’s not just that he was some great master at the top of his game once that faded from glory like any human who got too old. He’s a car, and no matter how good he was, how many Piston Cups he won, the powers that be that made newer models with better mileage and efficiency and mechanics were always going to dethrone him.
The movie isn’t about him, though, it’s about another rookie. A rookie who lives life in the fast lane and thinks his time in the spotlight is never going to end when Doc can look at him and know exactly how wrong he is. Lightning is a race car too and, regardless of the existence of Cars 3, Lightning will also inevitably become obsolete no matter what he does to fight it.
I doubt the writers were going for this when they wrote it but that they’re machines is also a criticism of how we treat celebrities. Lightning is an entertaining story until the next shiny starlet emerges and, through no fault of his own, he’s kicked to the curb for the “new”. And that new will be cast aside for the next new and so on and so forth and the only winner is the greedy producer making money off their cash cow until they drain it dry.
Yes, the movie is about appreciating life and the things that you do have and “the friends we made along the way” but that they’re machines matters. Had they all been human, the movie would have lost half its message, and half the tragedy. If they were human driving cars, Doc wasn’t written with a disability so he could have, in theory, hopped back behind the wheel of a new car and still won against younger drivers. He’s not human, he’s a car, and he isn’t built to go as fast as newer models.
Age affects everyone, but a world made by machines that pits machines against other machines in an endurance test is inherently rigged when the machinery being tested can always improve.
It is unfortunate that both Doc and the King go out in wrecks (even though the poetry is nice) and the story doesn’t explore the existential obsolescence of being a machine designed to only do so well and be improved upon – even Lightning still has to wreck out of his big race in Cars 3 before he starts losing to the newer models.
But maybe having a Cars movie that does explore the existential obsolescence of a machine might have gone over kids’ heads. Or, maybe not? They pulled off some very mature themes in Incredibles with marriage problems and presumed infidelity that kids probably didn’t understand but still knew was not good for the characters.
Not to mention all the other wonderful details in this movie: The car-pun cities on all the license plates, the tire tracks in the sky and car-shaped natural phenomena, all the creative sponsoring brands on the racers.
How the “Life is a Highway” montage hits you over and over again with a straight road that cuts through the winding nature (the snaking river, the mountains sliced open to make room), industry that stops for nothing and scars everything in its path.
If you haven’t watched this movie in a while, do yourself a favor and find time to do so.

Little Red Corvette (Ft. The Beatles) Part One
Benjamin O’Brien lives in Brighton Falls, California, trying to escape the trauma from a protest that caused him to lose his voice.
When an old friend visits and signs him up for a street race for his 18th birthday, he buys a beautiful Chevrolet Corvette unaware that under all its pain lies a stubborn but gentle Autobot from outer space with no memory and shared love for 80’s music.

Benjamin O’Brien has a normal life, or at least tries to.
Every morning he wakes up, eats his breakfast, takes painkillers for his damaged vocal cords, goes to community college for his auto shop classes, and goes to work at the beach boardwalk. It gets boring after a few months doing the same thing over and over again but it’s not the worst. He’s finally getting a proper education and now lives near the beaches of California, something younger Ben could only dream of doing.
It’s not the racing life but better than dying on the frontlines.
Tomorrow is his birthday and Ben wanted to treat himself. Days and weeks of a domestic life, he deserved for a bit of an adventure. A while back, he saw posters for a movie marathon at the local drive-in and Ben is a sucker for 80’s movies (His copy of the Breakfast Club is worn out from his 50th rewatch). He would go but the poor guy doesn’t have a car except a yellow Volkswagen Beetle that doesn’t even work. Who in their right mind goes to drive in without a car? Only the insane in his opinion.
Not too far from his host home is the local junkyard. Ben sometimes works there for extra cash or when he just wants to get his hands dirty working on cars again. For the past few days, he has been getting parts to repair the Beetle, using half of his wages to buy the parts he needed but so far his work has been in vain. Maybe on the day before his birthday, he’ll get some luck.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
His head buried under pillows and blankets, the tired 17-year-old slams his fist onto his alarm clock, silently cursing in annoyance at the dreaded box yet forces himself to sit up, blinking his blurry vision to adjust to the sunlight. Hoping to wake himself up, Ben leans over to his bedside table, puts on his black bluetooth headphones and presses play on his phone.
“Desmond has a barrow in the marketplace, Molly is the singer in a band. Desmond says to Molly, “Girl, I like your face” and Molly says this as she takes him by the hand Ob-la-di, ob-la-da! Life goes on, brah! La-la, how their life goes on. Ob-la-di, ob-la-da! Life goes on, brah! La-la, how their life goes on! Ob-la-di, ob-la-da! Life goes on, brah! La-la, how their life goes on!”
Ben mouths the upbeat lyrics as he changes out of his pajamas, slipping on a white tank top and slightly-used navy jeans from the carpet. He goes to brush his teeth and his head naturally begins to beat, the tiredness and annoyance from before already fading away. The teen cleans himself up and goes to the kitchen to eat breakfast, turning up the music on his headphones to dance on his way to the cabinets. Thank god no one is home. He opens the cabinet door to grab the last box of cereal but a knock in the door interrupts.
Ben slides his phones down to his neck. Who could possibly be up this early? The teen turns off his music and makes his way to the door, putting down the cereal box to turn the handle. The door swings open and his eyes immediately catch the hot pink color of hair.
“Hey, I-“
OH HELL NO!
SLAM!
The house nearly shakes at how fast Bee slammed the door on his old friend. Ben doesn’t let her answer, grumbling angrily at his visitor and ignoring the desperate knocks from the other side.
It’s too fucking early for this.
“Bee, please.” She begs between her knocks, “I just want to talk!”
The blonde teen freezes. Bee? Geez, I haven't heard that nickname in years.
Arcee, the hot-pink-haired biker outside his door, keeps knocking, her requests to let her inside fading into white noise in Ben’s ears. Hearing her voice again, just as panicked as he last heard her, hurts more than he thought it would.
Ben stays silent, which is all he can ever do. His hand trails up to his neck where a faded scar across his Adam's apple, his fingertips tracing the indents of the jagged shape. He wanted to put his old life in New York behind him, a life of fighting and protesting against a corrupt system. It wasn't supposed to be violent. Optimus promised that they wouldn't try to resort to force but the Decepticon mafia attacked first and that protest became a riot, one that cost him his voice.
Don't do it Ben. Don’t do it. It’s been almost a year. You can’t get hurt anymore.
Arcee was there at the protest but wasn’t there when Sergent Blitzwing ripped out his vocal cords. She doesn’t know his pain and the trauma that riot caused. Yet, his heart longed for a friend. Living alone has taken a toll that Ben isn’t willing to accept.
Maybe for a moment, just a moment. Then she can leave and never come back.
Ben shaking hands goes to unlock the door. The wooden barrier swings open and he stares blue to brown eyes at Arcee, who’s relieved at the open door. She smiles awkwardly but tries to put up a comforting face.
“Hey Bee,” she mumbles. A beat passes and the two just stand there. Bee looks at the clock and sees the minute hand inching closer to the 9.
Gah! I’m late!
The teen quickly types into his phone, “Do. You. Know. Sign. Language. ”
The biker perks up, surprised by his form of communication but doesn’t make a show of it. “Yes, I do.”
Bee tucks his phone into his pocket and steps aside, giving Arcee the permission to enter his home before he rushes to the kitchen to eat his unmade breakfast. Arcee nodded in appreciation and walked in, shuffling her feet onto the black floor mat before taking off her boots. She looks around, in awe of where his old crewmate has been staying for the past year. It’s surprisingly big for a teenager living alone and not to mention so close to the beach.
“A nice place you got here,” Arcee compliments, earning a humble buzz as Bee pours out his breakfast, briskly walking back and forth from his bowl and the fridge, “How’d you get it?”
“Host family.” Ben signed after putting away his milk, “Currently on vacation.”
As far as Bee remembers, the raceway in New York has always been his family. He was homeschooled in the pits and learned to drive before he could hit puberty. His origins are a complete mystery and for a while, he didn’t mind until he left. It was at that moment that Bee realized that he had no one. No one on the team was biologically related to him and there are no records of his birth. Bee might as well be non-existent.
The O’Briens are nice. Their son Dylan warmed up to him very quickly and his parents treated him like any other decent person would, even indulging in his odd taste for 80’s pop culture and music. Staying with them was a great idea but Ben knows he’ll never be part of their family and that’s okay. He wasn’t even offended when the family didn’t bring him along to their pre-paid vacation. He’s only living with them and that’s a fact that Ben is willing to accept.
Seeing his true family again and standing under the same roof as someone he considered as an older sister is odd. Arcee looked different since he last saw her. Her hair is shaved and cut up to her chin, her outfit consists of way more leather and black, and her wedding ring is missing.
Did something happen to her and Cliffjumper? Hopefully they didn’t end on bad terms.
Arcee remains quiet, looking around the O’Brien’s house with curiosity. It has only been a year but Bee has changed a lot. Bee has definitely taken the time to relax and act like an actual teen. He looks a bit more round and chubby, especially around the face, but his muscles remained firm, emphasized by his tank top while not too obvious. The biker laughs to herself remembering how much a skinny stick Bee was. The headphones are a new addition and so is his attire. Arcee realized that he had never seen Bee in jeans before, always found running around without the restriction of the denim.
Bee grows annoyed at the silence and stops eating to knock on the table, grabbing Arcee’s attention. “What are you doing here?” He signs as milk and crumbs drip from the corners of his lips.
Arcee leans back on her seat and smiles warmly, “Is it bad for an old friend to visit?” She joked, walking towards the dinner table where Bee is sitting. Bee frowns, an annoyed buzz escaping his throat which annoyed him even further.
I hate it when it does that.
Her grin fades into concern, curious and worried about the lack of the upbeat voice she once remembered, “What happened to your voice?”
“None of your business.” Bee gulps down the last of his cereal and dumps his empty bowl into the sink. Bee walks in long strides, speeding his pace to get out of the house as quickly as possible but Arcee isn’t so keen to see her old friend leave so soon, not when she just got him back.
“Bee, can we just talk?” Arcee sighs, exasperated by her old friend’s stubbornness but there’s a hint of begging in her voice.
There’s no denying that the base hasn’t been the same since Bee disappeared. They all thought he died but Orion knew he wasn’t. The biker didn’t know how he knew or why her leader never pushed to find his surrogate son but Arcee isn’t the type to let go of someone close to her so quickly. Not after…
Cliff.
With a red and yellow plaid button-up in his hand, Bee pauses at the soft desperation. It hurts to hear but before he could open his mouth, any and all words that could comfort her, reassure his friend that he misses her just as much, die from his lips, even if he can talk. He doesn’t look at her and taps on the doorway in morse code, “I have to go to work.”
The pink-haired biker remained frozen in her seat as the door slammed shut.
The rest of the day went by like a blur filled with crowds on the boardwalk and bullies from his classes dumping lemonade or making his job not worth the $20 an hour. It’s almost pathetic. The blonde knows any and every way possible he could run star wrestler, Shelby “Shatter” Bassett, into the ground without breaking a sweat. Maybe a punch in the face or a scratch on her boyfriend’s (admittedly stunning) royal blue AMC Javelin could also get him to shut up.
But he’s not B-127 the Freedom Racer anymore.
He’s just Benjamin the Hot Dog on a Stick cashier.
After a thorough wash to get all the lemon pulp out of his hair, Bee made a pit stop at the junkyard. With his birthday coming up in a few hours, the young teen hoped that he could get the Beetle up and running. He grabs his red toolkit from the back of the motorized bike he rides on, voicelessly greets the owner and rushes into the piles of the cars in the lot, taking apart the pieces he wants. Grime and oil gets on his button-up and skin and the metallic stench of rust seeps into his nostrils but the blonde doesn’t mind, remembering the similar smell back in New York except missing the sound of race cars zooming in the background.
“Can’t catch me, Bee!”
“Fat chance!”
“Go faster, papa! Faster!”
“If you say so, little one!”
“Tell me where your friends are hiding!”
Wait.
“I’ll never talk!”
Stop.
“Is that right?”
Stop it!
SHING!
“Then let’s make it official.”
NO!

Non-spoilery, scattered thoughts!! ( 4.5 /5⭐️ )
I hate Miguel with a great passion. Like, dude, come on get a fucking grip. Cringed every time I saw him. Other than that I loved the rest of the movie. Yes, it was fast paced, but! I feel like I consume most of my media like this nowadays so it wasn’t so much of a deal breaker for me.
Would’ve loved more Nora,Bea and Pez, if I’m honest.
Nick and Taylor are so perfect as Henry and Alex, I can’t even to begin to describe it. I felt, like everyone else, that I was intruding every time I saw them together. I was screaming and squealing so much. They opened up my heart ngl
Some transitions affected the flow of the film for me in the midway point

Henry’s POV destroyed me. I wanted to hug him so badly.
I really, thoroughly, enjoyed the starting sequence. I really liked the aesthetics and dialogue
Recently acquiring my political science BS who has worked in a dem campaign before I fucking enjoyed watching Alex making phone calls and help canvass. I felt all the hours I put in it coming back to me lol.
Since I’m also going to law school I would’ve love to see more Alex in his element since he is now in law school instead of taking the LSAT and worrying if he got in

I did read the book in 2020, the first time around. Got me through the pandemic and I have re read it several amounts as well as have the audiobook. Im a fan.
I watched this film with what Matthew Lopez said about it, it’s “an expensive fanfic” and it is! A very good piece. Yes im sad that they cut things from the actual book but watching it with what Matthew said it made me really happy. It’s like reading a fanfic made by an excellent author in ao3 for my screen and it’s fucking awesome. Don’t overthink just watch it and enjoy it :)
I’ll probs do a longer review with spoilers days to come, I’m going to rewatch it again. If I had to rate the movie it’s def a 4.5/5 stars. Not completely a 5/5 bc of the transitions of some scenes to the next one was a big deal for me, but other than that it was amazing.

Random's "The Super Mario Bros Movie" Review
My quick toughts on the fly weren't enough so his is a longer, more "serious" review.
Obviously, SPOILERS!
So let's start with the negatives since there are so few of them.
The pacing feels kind of rushed, sometimes we jump from scene to scene too quickly and the interactions between the characters are also a bit too fast (like Mario and Donkey Kong becoming friends so quickly in a "I saved you, you saved me" kind of thing). As a lot of people said: the movie really needed an extra 15 minutes.
Some of the characters are very plain, especially Toad. He is very underdeveloped compared to the others and only serves as the funny side character. There's no explanation about who he is or why he behaves that way (Nintendo fans will correctly guess he's Captain Toad, but an outside viewer might not get it). This doesn't mean I didn't like him, his comedic timing was good and never annoying and he never tried to steal the scene for a gag. Luigi comes close to having little characterization, but it's mostly because he didn't have a lot of screen time. We do get to see his relationship with his family and Mario, we get his personality quite well and he gets to be a hero by helping Mario at the end.
End of negatives. Yes just that, lol. Now the positives!
The plot. Even if very simple, it just works. It's a movie about the beginning of the Mario Bros adventures, they couldn't tell a completely different story without twisting everything. Plus it's a movie made by Illumination and we know their main target audience are kids and so they mostly focus on simpler plots and not very deep stories (unlike Dreamworks or Pixar for example). And since it's a movie about a 40 year old chracter, the movie has to appeal to more aged viewers as well. Everyone knows Mario games aren't so deep with lore (not counting the various RPGs and spinoffs, I'm only talking about the mainline games!).
The atmosphere is perfect. "Normal looking" (but never plain) in Brooklyn and "super bizarre" in the Mushroom Kingdom. There are a lot of things taken from the games, but even if they are never explained they don't feel out of place because the universe is so odd and everything feels so unnatural they make sense for themselves, even for someone not used to Mario things. The floating blocks? By themselves they would look out of place, but with everything going on, the question isn't "Why is that block floating?", but "Why wouldn't that block float?". And this goes for every "strange" thing we see.
The characters are well distinguished even if in a simple way. Mario and Luigi are the ones with the deepest characterization with their wholesome relationship and family problems. Peach is simpler, but it's ok it's that way because we don't know anything about her past, just that she came from the same place as the Bros and the Toads took her as their Princess. Bowser is quite funny: he's presented as a ruthless tyrant, but in his speech to his troops we learn that he stole the power star and they're heading to the Mushroom Kingdom because he wants to marry Peach. Even his own army can't believe it! The viewers go "What??" the same way as they do! Donkey and Cranky Kong have a simple but effective relationship as well with Cranky being embarassed by his boisterous vain son who's supposed to be the prince, but instead he just likes to show off.
References. As much as I don't like too many refences to things in movies here they work! If they aren't relevant to the plot, like the powerup blocks and Rainbow Road, they act as very good background props and they are never constantly shoved in your face. A lot of them are even very well hidden, so the movie is worth a rewatch to catch all of them.
And now some things I enjoyed!
The mario Bros sitting at the table with their family. I love how they made them so different, yet so similar. Dad being voiced by Charles Martinet is poetic.
The Blue Spiny Shell scene in general. I knew it was gonna happen, but still surprised me.
The Donkey Kong vs Mario scene was one of my favourite scenes. Animation, pacing and dialogue was perfect there!
Bowser and Kamek piano duet. "Jam with me." *underground theme* *coin sound*. It was so unexpected, lol. Also Bowser's practice wedding with Kamek. Basically all scenes with both of them.
Mario's training course was also one of my favourite scenes. Peach stuffing the mushroom in his mouth was funny. Mario throwing up in between shots of the montage was even funnier. Mario and Peach little talk after it was sweet too.
Luigi in the Dark World. Everything about this scene. The Luigi's Mansion references, the Dry Bones behaving like stock movie zombies and the surprise Shy Guys at the end. Not gonna lie, I was expecting some Boos too in the Fortress.
Bowser's ehm... passionate singing lol.
Totally unexpected, I called the swearing. But not in the Mario Kart part where I expected it. And just in the Italian dub, I suppose as I really haven't seen it mentioned for any other languages. Mario and Luigi swear once each (or Luigi swears twice, I can't remember now) with a nice placed "Are you fucking with me?". Yes the Mario Bros officialy said "fuck". Twice.
Lumalee. Dark humor at its finest. The funny thing is that he could easily fit trough the cages' bars, but he just didn't want to, lol.
And finally a couple of missed opportunities (in my opinion).
The 1-up mushrom. Maybe they could have made Mario eat one someway and then let Bowser defeat him in the final battle. Everyone is grieving the poor plumber, Bowser is gloating in his victory, but Mario comes back to life thanks to the 1-up he ate before. Too much for Illumination?
I still haven't understood why they replaced Toadsworth with a generic Toad. He could have explained something on why Peach became the Princess.
After this review, I think I'm gonna change my previous 8/10 with a 9/10 (because this time I took in account the Nintendo fan in me, lol).

so- to start with, again, these movies are GOOD! they are good and i am glad they exist. i just have to stay far far away from them.
the why starts years ago. it starts with reading book after book after book.... after book... and watching movie after movie after mov- you get it, just basically Everything- where the default non-romance story is about a Boy.
And often this boy is mediocre. He's relatable, you know? He's just normal. But by the end, he's done all this cool stuff and got all this cool stuff- He won the thing! Or got the thing! He showed everyone just how good he was- okay sometimes yes by lying about it for most of the story but he comes clean in the end so it's fine.
Usually he also gets a girl. Or impresses her. Something like that.
That was. Well. It got stale after a while. I have four sisters and was raised by my single mom. People (mostly) looked at me and saw a girl.
But hey, the stories and movies had other stuff I like so whatever, you know? Aliens and swords and stuff. Maybe the main character was character I liked the least, so what. The story needed him to exist.
What does this have to do with the three animated movies so many people fell in love with?
Well.
They each remember girls exist. And ladies can be cool. They can be good at stuff!
But.
No matter how good she is, no matter how much she's trained or how hard she worked or respects this thing or how much it means to her-
the guy will be better at it than her
the guy. who couldn't do the thing at all.
he just needs a quick montage, or a rat under his hat, and suddenly she's in the dust
And you know what that's fine it's fine it's especially fine in Kung Fu Panda where the boy (po) is fat and the point is that's okay he can be fast and graceful and powerful and cool- THAT i've never seen before and it's Amazing-
only. po still.... he still gets the place tigress spent her whole life training for.
This still in a world where most of the powerful people (shifu, tai lung, oogway, the other kung fu masters we see in that and later films) most of them are, well, guys.
It's a whole lot of guys.
Everywhere. Guys. Why? No idea. Their gender doesn't really inform or guide their actions. Tigress and Viper aren't commented on as rare for being lady martial artists. There's no reason for there not to be more lady kung fu masters. I guess this is a movie made by guys and so the default is guys. Fine! No problem!

Hiccup is the mediocre guy (by viking standards) who through trickery (empathy) becomes the best at this thing that this girl he likes is really good at. but he comes clean in the end and she's very impressed and he's so much better at the thing now he's the best at the thing and saves her at some point and now she's into him and they get together

the same implication bashed over my head again and again- a guy cannot be loved if he is just a dork or just mediocre. He has to also be "cool".

the other implication- no matter how hard a girl trains, how long she studies, how much she works for it- the guy can learn it in a montage and do it better. Or he can lie about it and that's okay too.
(po was a kung fu nerd but im sorry, im sorry that's not the same as training from childhood)
(do you remember how in legally blonde the ex boyfriend wasn't even that good at lawyer studies like elle getting better than him didn't mean her being the best ever and she ends up being so good bc of the other stuff that WAS part of her main life experience?? remember that?????)
(maybe if they'd leaned in more into Po's fat protecting him and his nerdness or cooking xp guiding him against tai lung, but he uses epic kung fu to fight the most dangerous master around and holds his own. he does better than tigress did with four others to back her up. im sorry. i know it's awesome and im glad it's a film. i can't rewatch it)
WHY did they make tigress want to be dragon warrior?
they never really explore her and shifu's relationship in that movie or the sequels. there's so little pay off to her accepting that she can't be the student or child shifu always wanted and lost. they are never the focus of the movies. never even plot B. Tigress didn't need to want this
the only ones who had to be ANGRY about po as dragon warrior was tai lung and shifu, his master who has to train him and the rival who wants his title. Everyone else could have just been reasonably confused and skeptical. tigress could have gone off to fight tai lung purely out of a lack of faith in po and wish to protect shifu- why why why why why did they have the plot point of her WANTING to be dragon warrior and RESENTING po for taking it? why did they have po filling this role she worked so hard to be ready for?
why did her character have to be a SHE for that, in a world with almost no other important or powerful ladies?
oh. right. girls can be good, but the guy will be better. that's the only way she'll respect him.

I don't think it's insidious or anything like that. It's just, the normal.
That's why I can't watch it.

so when he gets his confidence in time for the last fight, when Miles finds his groove and takes his leap of faith after a whole movie of stumbling around flailing frantically and turns badass- he takes NOTHING from Gwen. Nothing.
She is still her world's spidy,
and AND she liked him BEFORE he was "cool"!!!!!
When he was a mess desperately trying to figure things out, she tried to help him. Worked with him. Became friends with him.
Friends.
That also. My gods. He tries to flit at the end, she smiles and says friends, he smiles and they fist bump over it.
He got cool and didn't get the girl.
He was himself and already had a friend.
She is powerful and cool and a girl and worked hard to get where she is, and no one EVER outdoes her at it.
You can make a story about a normal guy becoming badass while crushing on an awesome girl, you can LIFT HIM UP without having to PUSH HER DOWN.
They can stand on the same level and be epic together.
I've needed to see that story, for so. Fucking. Long.

I FINISHED!
I'll put all my ramblings under a read more because of spoilers.
I am heartbroken but OH MY GOD THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD SEASON!!!!
I want to immediately rewatch it all again and I definitely will many more times. I loved it all. Yes the ending broke my fucking heart but its such a good and intriguing story line to take! The writing of the whole scene in the bookshop was stellar and the acting by both David and Michael was so so so good it had me crying. I can't believe it was Crowley who put himself out there first!! I always pictured it being Aziraphale but upon reflection it does make sense. Especially with everyting that happened this season and the fact that Aziraphale is still struggling to unlearn things. Crowley just, to quote Aziraphale, "moves too fast." for him.
But oh my god the ANGST!!!I love angst!!! A lot!! So yeah it hurts me but I love it! Angst gives such great plots and emotional aspects. I know a lot of people are gonna be angel but I love it. I will say though, we better fucking get another season because it CAN NOT end like this . You hear me Amazon! Don't you end it like this!
I want to see Aziraphale in season have a terrible time in heaven and realize that the only thing that matters is being with Crowley and I want him to apologize to Crowley and ask for forgiveness and do the "you were right" dance for him and then I want to the two of them to move to their cottage together and just be happy together.
Some other random thoughts I need to get out:
Oh my god Crowley as an angel killed me. He's so full of light and happiness and all he wanted was to make his stars and see them thrive. God i love him
Omg Crowley spending this whole season as an overprotective "don't touch him!" boyfriend SENT ME! And David clearly had just a great time. Crowley was so funny and the bits he he did were the best. Like the laudanum scene.
"You don't know anything at all and yet you're sure that everything would be better if you were just near one particular person?"
"No. Certainly not. I have no idea what that feels like. What makes you say that?" LIAR! You thought of Crowley!
Crowley's outfits this season were SO GOOD! I also loved how much less he wore his glasses especially around Aziraphale since he's so so comfortable in his presence he doesn't feel like he has to hide but then after the confession and rejection HE PUTS THEM BACK ON AND DOESN'T TAKE THEM OFF AND I AM UNWELL.
All the Jane Austen this season is my favorite thing ever and the fact that Crowley thinks it's romantic to get caught in the rain with someone. I'm just saying if Aziraphale and Crowley don't have a romantic reunion/apology/kiss in season 3 i'm gonna be very upset. I want a huge romance movie style make up where the two of them get caught in a huge storm, there's yelling, apologies, and then longing staring followed by a mutual kiss. I want it. I never thought I would but god damn do i want this.
The Bentley loving Aziraphale and changing itself for him was so freaking cute. "Our car" MY GOD
Everything in the Edinburgh flashback was hilarious but I especially loved David enjoying using his Scottish accent and then the whole chugging laudanum thing. So funny.
Muriel is adorable and I love them to death. They're so funny and I hope they'll be in season 3.
Homeless Crowley, living in his car with his plants. Oh my god imagine if Aziraphale had told him he could live at the bookshop with him.
"When you told my only friend to shut up and die. I did not care for it." Oh my God he's so angry when is your first behalf and I love him for it. "You're making him risk his entire existence for you."
"rescuing me makes him so happy."
"I remember hearing you and Crowley were an item."
THE JANE AUSTEN DANCE!!
I LOVED EVERYTHING THIS SEASON!!!

Rewatching the mass effect: Paragon Lost movie and once again reminded of the mixed feelings I have on it. It's been a while since I watched it but I got my hands on a new copy of the movie and I have such a jumbled bag of feelings about it.
I like that they decided to give us a movie about Vega and show us just how much of his ideals and actions revolved around his hero worship for Shepard, it really helps put into perspective a clear picture of their dynamic from his view and in a way I think it aligns him more with the player's opinion. Mass effect players also tend to idolize Shepard and speak about them very similarly to Vega.
I like that we see him in a leadership role making a tough decision that explained incredibly well why the N7 program wanted him and also why he wouldn't really be eager to take on the role given what choice he had to make. The ending of the movie not having some clean happy tie up in his romance with Treeya since yes he saved her and in doing so saved data that would help in the war, but he had to actively ignore hundreds of civilians dying in the process and it's an action that he would always remember when she was around. The Liara cameo was also fun.
That said, there wasn't enough content with the other members of his team for me to really care when they were dying and I think in a movie where Vega loses almost everyone, caring about the people he loses is important. I had a large amount of distaste for Essex because it wasn't just him flirting without taking a no, he actively sexually harassed Camille and touched her completely violating her consent.
In general, this movie didn't have great writing for the female characters. Part of that has to do with run time, part of it was the writers just putting in creepy men where they didn't have to. I think Treeya was the best written woman in the movie which makes sense since she got the most screen time, and I could even fully understand and sympathize with her hatred of the military.
I originally thought in the beginning she had a romance with Christine based on their interaction/dialogue and I do think pursuing that idea and having her and Vega just become friends who understand each other would've been a solid angle. This also could've led to Treeya actually wanting Vega to save the colonists because her wife/girlfriend was on board and hating him for saving her but also understanding why he did when the data was on the line.
I think a longer run time or it being a series would've allowed for more development between her and Vega romantically if they were planning to go this route. I just felt like her change towards him happened a bit too fast for my liking.
We get a jump cut to Vega being with the colony and integrating into it after 2 years which I would've loved to see happening so we can more easily care about all the people. I honestly think this could've been a mini series with us seeing what the Normandy companions were up to during the 2 years. I know they tell us but it could've been cool to get glimpses of their lives while still having a heavy focus on Vega since he's the on were building up.
I wish they'd actually taken the opportunity to have Treeya show up in ME3 for a quest where we get some interaction between her and Vega. I don't need it to set up a romance or anything but them being able to talk and catch up would've been a nice Easter egg.
I also felt like the military heavy hand was a lot stronger in this movie than it is in the rest of mass effect. I'm aware mass effect is military propaganda but this movie felt like it was going to at some point turn to me and ask me to join with dialogue we got.
Not a terrible movie, but definitely could've been far better. I do wish it was a mini series. I think if you're a mass effect fan and haven't seen it you should check it out and decide if it's for you on your own.

What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why?
High Enough by K Flay, because it's quite wordy and kinda fast, so when I don't stumble over words or get them wrong, it feels so good. Also, I just really enjoy listening to it.

Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
Yes and no. I love hearing people talking about things they're passionate about, but I have ADHD so it needs to hold my interest for an extended period of time, which isn't always easy. I quite like Jenny Nicholson's, except for the Star Wars ones.

I don't actually remember anything about them, only my mum telling me as an adult that they were twins, one boy and one girl.

Growing up, I read a book with a character named Starr and kind of wanted to change my name to that. These days, I can't say I love my name, but can't think of anything else I'd change it to.
What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why?
Maybe Regulus's, especially the newest one (the thought of having somebody in my head and never having any space to myself kinda terrifies me, but I also like the idea, because hell yes, he could absolutely kick those intrusive thoughts to the curb. Also, the parts where he starts revealing his true feelings about stuff via the random "demonic" voice just does something to me).
Although the Adam storyline, especially Sadistic Vampire Kidnaps You (both for the sleep aid factor, and just general I really enjoy listening to it) will probably always be my absolute favourite.
What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)
Sam. I think he's got so much love from Redacted fans that I'm almost burnt out from it. Also Milo, David and Vincent a little bit, for the same reason. I still listen to and enjoy their audios, but they'll never be my first choice to listen to, and it's very unlikely I'd relisten to them.

Idk, I don't rewatch or reread things enough to learn the words to them. Maybe Buffy, because I was hardcore obsessed with it when I was younger, but nowhere near knowing all the words level.

My first thought was Hux, although I would totally date him, if we were in a universe where he was, y'know, real, and not dating Damian.

This one took me a second- I was really staring down the Redactedness brackets- but when I saw it, it dawned on me so clearly and so resplendently. Ollie would be so wonderfully perfect for you.
Little things first- I think y’all would have a good time together, because it seems like y’all would like each other and the same things. Like, I can absolutely see Ollie having had a Buffy phase at some point. (He had a crush on either Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Borneanaz, or both. Probably both.) He’d love the same video essays you do and would be more than okay with pausing it or speeding it up if the attention span isn’t spanning.
Big things second- I think Ollie would be so good for you? Your being a Five and what you said about Regulus makes me think the sweet, unempowered type is just what you need. No magic, no tragic backstory, no possibility of having your mind read or wiped- just a darling man who loves you, your cats, and Star Trek.

I love Ollie and the domestic, little ways he shows his love and support- he’s just a wholesome dude, and he’s a sleeper favorite of mine for that reason. This song fits in my head because it reminds me of his sweetness and how far he’s come and matured and how dependable and loving he’d be as a boyfriend and life partner for you.
Runner-Ups:
Aaron was a pretty close runner-up, because I loved the idea of pairing you with someone unempowered and stable. (Ollie, I liked more because of his energy and lighthearted nature; also Aaron also strikes me as a Five, and I don’t typically do same Type pairs.) Author's Note: I have been thinking about this since this song was posted on TikTok. Prince Charmont was the first person I thought of (probably because I just rewatched this movie).

It all felt so stupid when I looked back at it. But, in the moment, I was scared out of my mind.
Char and I had been friends for as long as either one of us could remember. Being friends with him was perfect. We went to each other for advice, we spent a lot of spare time together, we had interesting conversations, we had created escape plans to get away from his fan club. It was all just really, really nice.
I couldn't pinpoint the exact moment that I fell in love with him.
I just kind of knew that I had.
It was hard not to fall him, honestly.
I had always tried to ignore those feelings. There was no reason to ruin something that was already perfect. I was too happy being his best friend for me to risk not having him around at all.
I thought it had all been for the best.
That all changed one day.
I had offered to help with some organizing in the hall of records. You would be amazed at how fast everything can get messed up in a very small frame of time.
"(Y/n)!"
I popped my head out from around a bookshelf when I heard my name. Char was kind of spinning around in circles as he looked for me. I chuckled.
"Char," I said.
He stumbled a little as he turned to face me.
"Hi," I waved at him.
"Hey," he replied. "I was looking for you."
"Oh no, what did you do now," I asked.
"Why is your assumption that I did something bad?"
"Have I been wrong before?"
"Okay, rude," he pointed out. I chuckled. "I didn't do anything."
"Then why were you looking for me?"
"I... I need to talk to you," he seemed nervous now. I furrowed my eyebrows and tilted my head slightly. "It's important."
"Okay," I nodded.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me back in between the bookshelves.
"This does seem more and more like you're in trouble."
"Hush," he replied.
When he stopped, he grinned at me and grabbed my shoulders, kind of just making sure that I didn't move. He seemed even more nervous now.
"What's wrong," I asked.
"Nothing's wrong," he replied.
"You just seem... nervous."
Char chuckled, placing his hands on his hips. He looked down for a moment, seeming to try and calm himself down.
"Char, are you-"
I was caught off guard by him pulling me into a kiss. His hands barely brushed my waist before I frantically stepped away.
My back bumped one of the shelves, but I ignored it.
"(Y/n)-"
"I'm sorry," I said before going to walk out. "I-I'm sorry."
He stood there and watched me walk out.
I spent the next few weeks avoiding him. It felt so stupid, but it felt like the only option I had at the time. Avoid him until I can get away from it all. Until all of the feelings fade and the two of us can go back to the way that we had always been.
I thought it had been going pretty well. I had been going about my duties without much interruption, only having to make a few sharp changes to my patterns to avoid Char trying to strike up a conversation.
"(Y/n)!"
He caught up to me in the hall. The one place where I couldn't find an escape route. That little-
"Hey," he said as he jogged toward me. He put his arm in front of me, so I would stop and talk to him.
"Hey," I replied, nervously, turning my attention to anything other than him.
"It's been a while."
"I've been busy," I shrugged.
"You've been avoiding me," he said. I started walking down the hall again in the hopes of finding something else to focus on. Something to pull me away from the conversation.
"No, I haven't," I shook my head.
"Yes, you have," he scoffed. "We've been friends for years, (Y/n). I can tell when something's wrong. Is this about the kiss?"
I stopped again, going to face him, "Char-"
"I'm sorry for that."
"Char, I'm not upset about that kiss."
"You aren't?"
"No, not at all," I said. "It was... It was a nice kiss."
He grinned and grabbed my hand, pulling me close to him. I felt nervous as soon as he did. Every second-guess, every insecurity bubbled up to the surface.
"This is good then, right?"
I forced a chuckle, trying to not seem tremendously nervous.
"Even if I wanted to, now would be a terrible time," I tried to explain as I lightly hit his chest a few times. He let me step away from him.
"Terrible," he asked. "Ouch."
"No, no, no," I frantically corrected. "You're not terrible. You're actually quite nice. And funny. And kind. And..."
My rambling trailed off when I saw him actively fighting off a smirk.
"I meant," I cut myself off, "it would be a terrible time for me."
"Why?"
I froze up for a moment. There were a hundred ways to explain this and none of them felt like they explained well enough.
"I... well... God-"
"(Y/n)," Char grabbed my upper arms.
"I don't wanna mess it up," I said simply. I started walking away again.
"What," he followed me.
"I am not going to mess things up with you," I shrugged. "I just... I won't."
"You won't-"
"You don't know that!"
He took a few steps back when I stopped and turned to face him.
"I'm sorry, but you just don't know that," I muttered. "I... I have things that I need to work out. I am not going to ruin the best thing in my life while I do that. I... I won't do that to you. If I hurt you, I would never forgive myself. I'm sorry."
Char furrowed his eyebrows, "So, your genius plan for not hurting me... is hurting me?"
"I'm protecting you."
"From you?"
I nodded.
"(Y/n), I love you. I have for years now. And now that I know how you feel about me, I'm not going to just let you run away-"
'I am just trying to do the right thing-"
"You don't know that it's the right thing," he said. He let out a sigh before stepping forward and cupping the sides of my face. "If you have things you need to figure out, that's fine. But you can do those things with me by your side. I'm not going to run, and you can't 'ruin this'."
"Char-"
"Please," he begged quietly. "Please. I want to be with you. No matter what happens. I have for years. Please."
I studied his face as his thumb started running along my cheekbone.
"(Y/n)-"
I cut him off by leaning in to kiss him. It was short, only lasting a matter of seconds before I leaned back again. He rested his forehead on mine.
"I love you," I whispered, trying to ignore that nervousness sitting in my stomach again.
"I love you too," Char mumbled, grinning at me.
I felt that nervousness fade. It was only slightly but it happened, and that's what mattered.

First of all: I am here to have a good time. My portrayal of Stephen is going
to be of more or less casual nature, but that doesn't mean that I don't intend to
portray him seriously. My knowledge, though, is limited; This means his portrayal won't be highly in-depth and might be missing things here and there. I am also absolutely not familiar with the comics, so zero knowledge in that regard, and still need to rewatch most movies (have rewatched Dr. Strange 1 & 2 so far, still missing all the other movies where he appears - I have seen those in the past but it is been a long while). If you cannot handle my lack of said knowledge, this blog might not be for you. Otherwise: I'm looking forward to interact with you!
Some basic RP rules: No god-modding (some things are allowed if it makes sense in the context of the RP: My muse following yours into a room etc. That being said, Strange is a sorcerer and he can do some things that might be considered 'god-modding' in a loose sense (e.g. make your muse change location with him in an instant). Be prepared for that to happen.), the mun is absolutely not the muse (means when muse says / does / acts a certain way it does not mean that the mun condones it and/or would act the same), muses can also be wrong (yes, my Stephen might be rude, or have wrong/no knowledge, or misunderstand your muse, and your muse is allowed to do the same as well!), and please communicate with me if there are any issues at hand (I promise I won't bite, but I am highly allergic to talking-behind-my-back kind of stuff. I am almost 34 years old, I can handle communication).
Some blog-specifications: This blog is mutuals-only (non-mutuals are allowed to send in asks about headcanons / muse-development etc), therefore highly-selective, and I might not always reply to threads in the same order they come in; That means I will reply to some threads faster than to others, simply because my excitement fluctuates. That does not mean I don't like interacting with you, I promise. Regarding replying-speed: I am usually quite fast and reply within
a few days or a week. In rare cases it can be multiple weeks or a month. You are allowed to ask me about a reply in case I haven't answered in 2 weeks or such, but please don't pester me about them. Another thing about replying / threads: I might drop threads after a while if I feel there's simply not much existing anymore that can be added / written in any way. I might not inform you about this decision
but you are absolutely allowed to ask me if I did - and, in case I did, I am almost always happy to start a new thread from a new perspective or after a time-jump or something to have our muses interact more! I just don't like trying to force-squeeze interaction into a thread that would have died otherwise already. I prefer doing new threads to keep things fresh and exciting.
This blog is also 18+, means I won't interact with any muns under the age of 18 and I honestly prefer if you are above 21 years old. NSFW will be present in various shapes. I put replies containing smut under a 'read more'. I also tag my NSFW-things with either Suggestive; or UnSFW;, so you can block the tags if needed.
More RP-stuff: I love Crossovers, AU's, completely made-up stuff, timetravel-shenanigans, Universe-shenanigans and whatever one can think of. I am also open for OC's and Canons alike. OC's need to be fleshed-out and provide information for me to find easily. I will scroll through blogs that follow me and check whether our writing-styles match and judge whether I could see us interacting; If I don't, I won't follow back. If I follow you back, I want to write with you - the same goes for if I follow you first!
I prefer to interact with non-animated FCs (exceptions are being made for Marvel-comic-muses), and I personally love to include simple icons into my replies. However, I will also adapt and sometimes not use icons - you are very welcome to decide upon whether you want to use some or not.
I use small text, but other than that, I don't format my replies much. You are welcome to format as much as you desire to, I simply won't adapt to your style.
If you, for any reason, need me to keep my posts as 'regular text' to make it easier for you to read, please tell me and I will totally do that for you.
I usualy write quite long replies and prefer multi-para. I only do shorter things rarely and mostly for crack / casual interactions. Please do not reply to my multi-para with a single sentence - you do not need to match my sometimes insane length by any means, but please give me something to work with.
Concering drama / communication: I am not here for drama of any kind, whether it might be personal drama or Marvel / MCU drama. I write with who I want to write, I use whatever FC I want to use, and I have the right to (soft-)block whoever I want to for any given reason. I won't allow rude anons to slide into my askbox; Any kind of rude anon ask will be deleted on sight.
Regarding shipping: I love shipping, I'm not going to lie about it. However, I am also here for all the platonic ships of any kind. I prefer to write M/M ships and for some personal favorite ships of mine I might even do some insta-shipping, but I also prefer to have chemistry lead to our muses to get close to each other. F/M ships have to develop over time, the chemistry has to be perfect, and will, most likely, rarely happen - so don't expect your muse to be shipped with mine unless the chemistry works. I'm sorry about that, but this is for my personal comfort. It's nothing against your muse in any shape or form.
Some favorite ships of mine: IronStrange and KhanStrange (yes, I like some odd ships and no, I don't care if you approve of it or not), but if the chemistry works, any ship will turn into my favorite, honestly.
I do not ship Pal.mer.Str.ange. There's a reason it never worked out and I personally will never see Stephen and Christine ending up with each other in any Universe. Regarding her: My Stephen has separated himself successfully from her and does not run after her anymore, doesn't matter much at which point of his timeline an RP is going to happen (there's exceptions, of course - the closer to the 'beginning' of Dr. Strange's origins, the more likely he is to still have feelings for her).

I am honestly just a bean; My rules might come across as a bit strict or written in a very serious manner, but I myself am just a wrinkly potato that's screaming way too much about favorite fandoms and ships and I am awkward as hell. Not Me rewatch ep.1 (pt.2)
*Cool details*
• White holding his breath
This is one of the reasons this show deserves to be rewatched. This right here. First time watching? White is just under water for a couple seconds, nothing weird, it doesn’t really mean anything, just makes the voice over sound edgier. Second time watching? PAIN! ANGST! ALL THE FEELINGS! White never stopped trying to contact Black and now I’m crying. Gosh, I love this detail so damn much.
• Russian
I love that White speaks Russian while in Russia and at first with his dad! Yes he switches to Thai pretty fast but I’m so glad they decided to put it in at all + he forgets some Thai words in class (I’m unfortunately way too used to show where characters’ linguistic backgrounds are completely ignored). Round of applause for Gun too because in the behind the scenes he kept practicing to make it as fluent as possibile and he had a pretty lengthy scene with the Russian character.
• White and his dad
I specifically want to talk about the scene where White talks with his girlfriend about moving back to Thailand. I didn’t catch it the first time but his girlfriend asks him if his dad is going back with him and White tells her that he’s been gone for the past two years. I really like this detail because it leaves a lot implied. How did his girlfriend not know that? Did they just get together? It didn’t feel like a new relationship but neither of them was particularly sad about breaking up either. Does White just never talk about his family? And on the note of family, has he spent the last two years ALONE in Russia? So many questions.
•White and his dad about Black
This scene is brief but MAN do I love it. Adul asking White to forget about Black while living in a house full of photos of them together? Sounds like a man who sees when there’s a problem but decides to ignore it for his own benefit even if other people are going to suffer because of it…. 👀
• How stiff White is
This is something I’m probably going to talk about more in depth later on but White is SO stiff and uncomfortable in the first couple of episodes! So much so that the first time I was watching I was squirming in my own skin, I felt how out of place he was. Gun did such an amazing job portraying him they way he did I could tell he was unsatisfied with his life before they ever mentioned it, it was just so obvious.
• The make up
Not too much to say about this, I just wanted to shout it out because it looks nasty. Which is the point so good job! I’ve rarely seen such realistic injuries on tv before (you usually need a high budget movie or otherwise settle for whatever unrealistic looking scratches they paint on the poor actors).
• Makeover montage
So first of all I LOVE makeover montages, okay? I know a lot of people find them cheesy but I love them with all my heart and think they make every show/movie better. Is this a very unconventional makeover scene? Yes. Will I still count it as such? YES!
