just finished reading Cooperative Gameplay by @gallavichy which is a must for the shameless/gallavich fandom I suppose, and fuck! that was good.

and I'm just. so happy to be able to read such a good work by someone so passionate about their craft. I mean, Gray did so much research to properly describe videogames and how ged and university application work and mental ilness and places and tourist points and the most banal things too, and their mannerisms! the way every fucking twitter user ian follows has a consistent personality throughout all the fucking +240k words its insane! she included the clothes they were wearing and made whole playlists for a fanfic, that's so fucking nice.

it's just so nice to feel how much she was into it, you know? more than a great writing and story and characters, it was so nice to read cause there was so much feeling to it, all the time. makes me feel warm inside. smiled so big reading it and cried too! i just had to put it out here.

L and Light are both avid rhythm game players, tho Light mainly sticks to Japanese ones while L will play any he finds cool. They both get some serious high scores, and would probably be battling for the #1 spot on world wide leader boards if they didn't have other commitments. Because while L and Light are just the best at most games, RG players are scary determined and the the two genii don't have the time for it.

Anyways, when they get handcuffed and L gets bored, he gets Watari to bring his Guitar Hero set up to the headquarters.

Light has heard of it because it gained some popularity in Asia, but he's been too busy studying as a third year (and being Kira) to look into obtaining the game and necessary controllers.

Light initially scoffed when he saw L holding the small plastic guitar, but grew interested after seeing L blast through Crazy Train on Expert. He quickly learned that even though this game looked pretty easy in comparison to some that he's played, it was difficult to acclimate himself to playing the controller like an actual guitar, since he had to move his fingers to the different buttons and had to look only at the screen.

L was patient as Light learned the controls, and eventually they began battling it out two player mode.

Matsuda and surprisingly Mogi liked to watch the two frequently, while the rest of the taskforce occasionally popped their head in to marvel at the insanity that was watching their fingers shred Through the Fire and Flames. Soichiro was exasperated that of course L was the one to get Light back into his RG addiction, but it seemed to be in moderation for now, and the case was still productive enough, so he let it slide.

Of course that all changed when the two got bored of the existing song selection and decided that reaching to the depths of the hell known as modding was a good idea, and Soichiro had to enlist the help of Watari to drag the two boys away from the screen because they hadn't left the room in two days.

gaon is the type of guy who will have a mental breakdown if he loses the special guitar pick you gift him so he tries to never use it and keep it safe, forgets where the "safe place" is and gets a mental breakdown over losing it. but at the same time, if he forgets about a special occasion, he will casually reach into his pocket, pick out a random pick and go "this is a special one, especially for you <3"

the visuals on these newer maps are seriously SO awesome. it makes it even more fun for me to watch my gameplay videos because you cant really appreciate the lovely scenery when youre actually playing and focused on the notes lol
