“Rough night?” the make up artist asked you, no wonder she saw the frown that seemed to be permanently set on your face ever since you walked into the trailer.
“More like a very rough morning.” you mumbled, easing back in your chair as she worked on getting your makeup done before filming started. But with all the nausea and morning sickness you've been having these days, and even this morning, you didn't know how you'd be able to cope with it.
“Oh alright then-” she giggled “You two love-birds have taken this seriously huh?”
“Wh-what?” you raised an eyebrow and she smirked at you but shrugged.
“Having a kid I mean.” she chuckled motioning with her head to the mirror in front of you and without a second thought you actually looked at your reflection, studying with narrowed eyes to spot something that could-
“Oh” you breathed out, a shy smile forming on your lips when you saw the marks on your neck from, in fact a quite rough night. But that's what usually happens when you and Bill are apart for more than a three weeks.
“Yeah” you laughed sheepishly, shrugging “I just guess... we missed each other a lot.” you shrugged, the smile now replacing the thin line you had your lips pursed in.
“Is it only that?” she raised an eyebrow “I know you were trying for a kid a little while back then so I guessed it would be that.”
“Yeah, we still want that but- we've sort of put it on hold sadly.” you mumbled, shrugging softly “With me getting started on this new movie and him still having the filming of IT it's kinda hard to spend as much time as we'd like to together.”
“That's a shame, but don't worry you have all the time you want to yourselves (Y/n). You're still very young, don't worry about it!” she winked at you with a friendly smile “And in the end you'll do great. I'm sure you'd make great parents too, just seeing you interact with little Jackson proves it.”
“Speaking of which, were is our little star today? I haven't seen him on set yet, and he's always the first one to give me a warm hug when I get on set.” you asked with a grin and she chuckled. Ever since you'd met little Jackson on the set of it you had become inseparable and once you got proposed for a movie you didn't hesitate to think of suggesting he'd be great for the role of your son.
The director agreed and gave him a chance with the rest of the kids, and even if he was the youngest, he actually got the role because of how well you got along and adjustments were made in the script for him. His work with IT was practically finished after all so it wasn't a problem for him. If anything he was more than thrilled he'd get to be working with his favorite actress of all times, his words.
“Oh yes, his mother called and said he's be coming in later because they ha to visit the doctor first.”
“What? Why? Is he alright?” worry instantly etched in your heart and she smiled reassuringly with a shake of her head.
“No he's fine, just some check ups. I didn't understand much, usual kids stuff. You'll get it when the right moment comes!” she finished with a smirk and a wink and you giggled.
“Yeah.” you whispered, eyes casted down at your belly while she cleaned her brush “I gues I will.” your fingers trailed over your belly, barely touching and in the end you shook your head as if to shake the thoughts and hopes off and looked straight in front of you as if nothing had happened.
~*~
“(Y/n)!” the little boy exclaimed as soon as he spotted you, running towards you.
“There he is!” you broke into a grin, maybe your stomach wasn't that much better, but the little boy could make you feel better with a simple smile.
“How is my favorite big guy?” you asked, hugging back as he tried to squeeze you in his small arms.
“Good, I wasn't feeling that good yesterday and mom took me to the doc. He gave some- some pills I think they were because they weren't sweet like candies and today I am better. We just- just went for uh a check up? Yeah I think mom called it that.” he spoke, rocking back and forth in his heels as he spoke to you.
“Oh my poor sweetie.” you pouted “I know how you feel, I wasn't entirely well this morning either.” you sighed and an adorable smile formed on his face.
“Why? What was it?” he tilted his head to the side and you actually found yourself smiling.
“Nothing, boo. Just morning sickness, I've been having them for a few days now. It's nothing though..” you shrugged not to worry him any further and because you attributed it all to the stress.
“Are you- are you sure about it?” he asked still worried and you nodded your head with a grin “You- you could go to the doctor too.”
“It's ok, big guy. And absolutely, I'll just have to be a little more careful of what I eat, that's all.” you ruffled his hair “Come on now, we need to get you ready for the scenes we have because it's gonna be a veeeery long day!” you exclaimed before picking him up and spinning him around and making him giggle.
“Can we watch a movie after the first scene is over and when we have our big break?” he asked with a hopeful smile, arms wrapped around your neck.
“Absolutely! Anything for the best son in the world!” you grinned, kissing his cheek as he laughed.
“And it can be Iron Man, right?” he asked, swinging his legs back and forth.
“Of course, and we'll get to read some comics too. I'll make sure we have your favorite snacks!”
“Yes, yes! And can we call for Bill to come over?” he asked with hopeful eyes and you grinned.
“And how do you know that mister?” you raised an eyebrow and he giggled at your playful look.
“I heard Sunny talk about it yesterday! You must be really happy he's back and you get to spend time together, right?”
“Of course, I've missed him a lot.” you whispered, letting out a soft sigh and he smiled at you “Don't worry I'm gonna make sure I give him a call, I know he'd love to see you after all this time too!” you winked and he nodded his head.
“As long as he doesn't have a red balloon I'll be glad to see him too!” he said with a giggle as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Well, look at that!” you chuckled “Already such a smartypants, aren't ya?” you tickled his side as he giggled and squirmed in your arms “Well, did mister smartie learn his lines for today or were you too busy being so cute?” you stopped to asking him, only booping his nose.
He grinned and nodded his head “Yes, although I did read some (Y/s/n) comics at the doctor! He said he was a fan of yours too, can you believe that?! I was so excited I just made a talk with him, and I proudly told him you are my best friend!”
“Well, you are right boo! I surely am!” you kissed his cheek “And I might be having a hard time believing that but I will definitely believe if one day he is a great fan of yours as well! Along with many many others!”
“Yeah right.” he laughed, shaking his head.
“What, you don't believe that?!” you gasped dramatically “Oh mister the game is on! If I prove you wrong by the end of the week what will I get?”
“Hmm” he tapped a finger on his chin as he joined in the game and you had a hard time fighting a grin at how adorable he looked like “What about a big big hug and a day at the park and then ice cream?”
“Sounds amazing!” you grinned, trying to hide the fact that the mere idea of food made your stomach turn to not worry him “But maybe if my stomach doesn't feel well by that time we could switch for something else, yeah?”
“Is your stomach feeling funny?” he asked curiously and you nodded your head, eyes casting down for a second.
“Yeah, kiddo. I haven't just been dizzy but also nauseous and almost sick. And ice cream at the moment doesn't sound as good as it used to. But we'll see, don't you worry about that!” you winked at him and he nodded his head with a smile, resting his head on your shoulder and a small pause followed after that.
A pause that was broken by the kid himself that actually made you stop dead on your tracks “So the baby doesn't like ice cream then? How about if we tried french fries, maybe he'd like those?”
“Wh-who?” you frowned, blinking as you stared at him. He pulled slightly away to look in your eyes and gave you a small shrug.
“The baby? I- I mean, I hear mom usually tell dad how she felt when she was carrying me in her belly. She said how- how I didn't like french fries at all but now I love them and- and all of the things I did to her. I made her nauseous and dizzy the first few months, and it was as if she was sick.” he took a small breath when he stopped rambling “I- I only figured your baby is doing the same because-”
“My what?” you breathed out in utter shock, not because actually believing he could really be saying the truth but because there was an actual possibility you were saying the truth. The little boy was pointing out the one thing you should have thought of first but didn't.
And now the thought wasn't going to just leave your mind until you figured the truth out.
~*~
You didn't want to have hopes, you really didn't. You thought the possibility of being stressed out, tired and sick because of your not-so-great diet lately was much higher than being pregnant but at the same time you wished so bad it could be the latter. You had not been trying with Bill for nothing, after all.
“Baby? Are you alright in there?” speaking of which.
You almost jumped when you heard his voice. You blinked, realizing you had been staring at your reflection for longer than you thought. You didn't dare look down at the pregnancy test to see the result. You knew if you could handle the truth, even if you wanted to know it more than anything else. You wished so much you could actually be pregnant, and learning that would both scare you but also make you the happiest woman on earth. However it could also be negative and you knew you couldn't take that now that you'd spent so much time thinking about it and letting the hope grow inside of you.
You wanted it to be real and you'd much rather keep hoping than know the truth.
“Bill” you breathed out as soon as you left the bathroom in a rush to meet him before he could get in “What- what are you doing here so early?” you frowned, locking eyes with him.
“Wow baby, yes I am really happy to spend some more time with you as well! It's so great to feel loved by my girlfriend all the time!” he said sarcastically with a smirk and you smiled apologetically, looking down for a second.
“I'm sorry Bills.” you mumbled with a small pout, rubbing your temple "I'm just- I haven't been feeling well, that's all. You know I don't mean that."
“Beautiful, relax.” he smiled softly “You know I am just teasing you as well.” he cupped your face and looked into your eyes with a frown “What's wrong?”
“It's... probably nothing, don't worry yourself with that.” you shook your head, looking him deeply in the eyes and finding yourself relaxing even more “Shouldn't you be at Alexander's place?”
“Yeah, but he had work to do and I said I should visit you on set to spend some time with you and Jackson. I only found him there before he would leave and he told me you weren't ok and that filming was cut short. So I drove as fast as I could to here.” he ended with a small sigh, rubbing his thumb on your cheek “Love, what is going on? Do you think we should go see a doctor?”
“No, Bill. I promise it's all... fine.” you gave him a small smile before closing your eyes and nuzzling your face in his palm as he looked down at you tenderly and full of love.
“But- we should probably go see a doctor at some point. This can't be normal, baby.” he whispered, shutting his eyes softly and kissing your forehead tenderly “Even if it's stress or bad eating, we gotta fix that as well.”
“Bill, honestly everything will be alright in the end... I know it because I have you here. And that's all that matters. Now please let's not talk about it. Actions can speak a thousand words, right?” you whispered, your lips brushing past his before he closed the remaining gap and pressed his lips harder than before on yours. He saw you didn't want to talk about it so he didn't pressure you any further. Instead he just kissed you passionately with just as much as love as before. Maybe not as tenderly but you knew all the feelings he was trying to convey with it were real so you kissed him back just as urgently.
It was mostly because you wanted to forget that there was a pregnancy test with a result waiting for you to face but you couldn't do it just yet.
Just as long as you didn't feel any more dizzy or nauseous and could properly stand on your feet without passing out you were alright with anything - because yes that was what had actually happened and you were very glad little Jackson had been great in keeping his promise and not telling him because it would have made him worry even more. And at the moment all you needed was to get lost in his arms and forget about everything, just think about the small bliss you still felt at the prospect of becoming a mother. The mother of his kids.
“Is there anything I can do to help? Anything at all?” he said in between kisses, lips not wanting to pull away from yours.
“Everything, Bill. Everything.” you found yourself smiling as you kissed his lips fully again and he did the same.
“Good, I really hoped you'd say this.” he said in a much lower and more rough voice as his hands left your face and wrapped around your waist to press you as tightly as you could to himself. Your arms didn't wait a second to wrap around his shoulders and just like every other time no more words were needed between the two of you to know how it would go this time. You simply knew.
~*~
Bill gazed at your sleeping form, a smile on his lips as he saw how calm and content you were. He would deny it to you, stay strong and be there for you, and he wouldn't let it show he was worried beyond belief but seeing you the way he had that morning made his heart clench unpleasantly so inside his chest. What little Jackson had told him only worried him more but at the moment, and after such a night, he couldn't find it in himself to feel anything but bliss.
He cared your cheek softly with the back of his hand, running his finger, delicately so as not to wake you up, over the lines of your face and taking in the sight of your messed up hair, and your pouting lips. He wanted nothing more than to kiss you right then and there but he knew he'd be unable to stop if he started and he didn't want to wake you up when you looked so peaceful. His eyes trailed to the soft and glowing skin as the rays shone over your bare body, barely covered by the bed sheets. He bit his lip, holding himself back from just letting his hand trail further down and trace every curve and edge there was in you. That when he'd definitely be unable to stop.
With a small sigh he slowly took his arms off of you, tried and managed to untangle his limbs from yours and with a soft kiss on the top of your head and a grin when you mumbled something in your sleep he left the bed, wore just pair of boxers and made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower before he could cook some breakfast for you.
However all plans left his mind when his eyes fell on the small white stick on the sink. A frown set on his face when he approached it and the moment he actually saw it clearly and realized what it was, his heart lept to his throat. His eyes widened, his eyes frantically searched for what could look like a box and he didnt have to search for long because he spotted it just at the other side of the sink.
His hands were shaking as he got hold of the instructions and read them, not that they were that complicated. But his blurry vision was not making things easier than his trembling hands were. With glossy eyes he immediately looked at the stick and at that moment he really felt all air get knocked out of his lungs. A tear finally rolled down his cheek.
~Three months later~
“(Y/n)!” the voice you had not heard in a month made you turned and face the little boy who seemed as excited as he always had been with you running towards you.
“Jackson!” you grinned, spreading your arms wide open for him to come and hug you.
“I've missed you so so much!” he said, wrapping his own arms around your neck, careful with the big belly standing in your way.
“I've missed you very much as well, big guy!” you gave him a squeeze before you pulled away and he could sit next to you on the couch “I'm sorry if I had to leave you for this long to film all alone.” you said with a pout but he shook his head.
“It's alright, I don't mind. Bill kept me company too!” he said with a grin, glancing at the man that came into view with your orange juice and sandwich.
“I'm sure he did.” you grinned “Oh come on, Bill, I told you I'm not hungry!” you huffed, leaning back in the couch.
“Nonsense” he scoffed “You're pregnant, you need to eat more than usual and for more than one and take all your vitamins.” he said matter-of-factly as he pushed it forward to you and you shook your head at him. Still you couldn't help but smile at how caring he was with you.
“You're never going to stop this, are you?” you asked with a soft smile as he grinned, sitting next to Jackson.
“Oh I am in about four months, although even then I think I'm going to keep doing this for just a little longer because-” he started rambling but you just laughed, shaking your head.
“Alright, alright I get it! You're gonna be the silliest daddy on the world.” you rolled your eyes, but smiled nonetheless. You glanced down at the little boy who had his ear pressed on you belly as if trying to hear something.
“And the proudest!” Bill added with a wink and you giggled.
“Is the baby asleep, (Y/n)? It's not talking to me.” he said with an adorable frown and you ruffled his hair.
“Probably Jackson, they really like sleeping a lot. Sleeping and eating.” you replied with a wink.
“Sometimes-” Bill got closer, placing a hand over your belly as well with a grin “When I talk to them they usually respond with small kicks. (Y/n) doesn't like those because it hurts a little bit but it's my favorite thing in the world!” he said with a bright smile and sparkling eyes as Jackson stared at him with wide eyes.
“Usually in the mornings they are the most energetic, sometimes after food they tend to just relax and fall asleep but I can't really tell the difference. When Bill talks to them they seem to really get excited though!”
“It's because they really love their daddy's voice.” Bill said proudly.
“I hope not the Pennywise one!” Jackson said with a giggle and you couldn't hold your laughter.
“No, no I haven't used that one. Yet.” he said with a sly smirk and you gasp, hitting his shoulder.
“You're not gonna scare our kids like that!”
“Don't worry I don't plan on that.” he shook his head “Besides, don't think they'd mind. They've got a soft spot for me already!”
“Hey!” you exclaimed, hitting his shoulder as Jackson giggled but still tried to head or feel something on your belly “Don't start making assumptions before they're even born, they are still my babies! I am the one carrying them!” you said with a pout, looking down at Jackson and you belly.
Bill chuckled, leaning to kiss your temple then cheek and then lips “I love it when you get all sad and grumpy like this! You know you're going to be my favorite one forever, right?”
“Yeah yeah, sap.” you mumbled, trying to fight off a smile.
Bill only laughed, giving you another small kiss “They are the luckiest babies in the world to have you as their mother, I know that for sure.”
“They?” Jackson asked and you and Bill smiled widely.
“Yes, kiddo!” he grinned, picking him up and making him sit on his lap as he got closer to you with the little boy giggling as he tickled his sides.
“They, it's going to be twins. And you know the best thing?” Bill asked with a smirk as Jackson shook his head “They are both boys!”
“I'm going to have two new friends?!” he exclaimed in awe and both you and Bill laughed.
“Yes you are, big guy! One of whom-” you glanced at Bill, sharing a look “You're gonna share the same name!”
“You're going to name one of the boys Jackson?” he asked back at you with a grin and you nodded your head.
“Jackson George to be exact.” you picked his cheek “So he'll have the full name of that adorable little guy I met a couple months ago and practically made this all happen for Bill and I!”
“Because if it wasn't for you Jackson-” Bill spoke up, noticing the frown that was set on his face “We wouldn't have realized how much we wanted to have kids, how much we wanted to start a family!”
“Really?” he breathed out, looking back and forth between the two of you with wide eyes.
“Absolutely!” you grinned, kissing his cheek “And since we have yet to announce it to the public, we thought what better way than with a photo of the five of us hm?”
“Five?”
“(Y/n), me, the babies and above all you!” Bill explained and the little boy grinned.
“Yes, yes of course!” he exclaimed excited, nodding his head “I'll go take the phone, you're pregnant you must not get tired!” he said in such a serious way that you still couldn't stop yourself from laughing as he jumped off the couch to go grab your phone that was on the table just a few feet away.
“I'm starting to regret all the time I've let the two of you spend together. He's practically turning into a mini you now.” you shook your head, saying to your boyfriend, as you watched with a grin how Jackson tried to climb a chair to get to the phone.
“Nah I don't really.” he said with a big smile “Besides, we're totally gonna rock this first official family photo!”
