“It was a lovely little thing, in [The C-Word], how tactile House is, because he's normally as far from warm and cuddly as you can get. What works here, and works very well, are two guys who really have nothing left in the world but each other. " – The AV Club

Roughly how the escspe scene in chapter four of Into the Abyss looked like to me. Binghe vibing hard with the danger. While being carried.
Idk why this is the scene I've wanted to draw but yeah. The mental image stuck with me.

It really is wild to think about how life is a series of choices and how every one you make changes your course and eventual destination. It's certainly not healthy to overthink every decision beforehand or dwell on what-ifs afterwards... but it is fascinating to think about the divergent paths your life could have taken had you made different choices along the way. Where would you be now? Who would you be now? Who would be with you? How much would be the same, and how much would be unrecognizably different?

Whenever someone says "This would kill a Victorian child." Or "This would kill a medieval peasant." I have to think about Machete. Would he... would he survive eating a Dorito?

Whew, gotta say that the pre-crisis version of Dick happily passing on Robin to Jason is not better than the post-crisis version in any way, shape, or form. In pre-crisis Dick is essentially a cardboard cutout of a character when he hands Jason Robin, but in post-crisis he reacts like a person? He's insecure with his place as Bruce's son, hurt that Bruce gave something of his away without even asking, worried about this kid who isn't ready, and he eventually just has to swallow it all because there's no other choice. Ignoring the fact that the pre-crisis version hasn't been canon in like 40 yrs and features a Jason that does not at all resemble the current JTodd from aesthetics to origin, it literally strips a layer of complexity from Dick's character and from the Jason and Dick relationship as a whole?
I mean, imo, the most interesting(and hardest to resolve)piece of Jason and Dick's relationship is the way post-crisis hand off ties into Jason's post death motivations and Dick's reaction to them. Even with the pre-crisis way Robin was passed down, if Jason had died he probably would still have blamed Dick for not pushing back against Bruce- which to be clear is one of his primary reasons for hating Dick originally, as he despised him since he viewed Dick as Bruce's "yes" man. However, with the post-crisis version, Dick is now forced to contend with the fact that he saw Jason's death coming and didn't push hard enough to stop it. Post-crisis Dick assumes a much more active role in Jason's death, earned or not because he was the voice of reason.
The cherry on top is that using the pre-crisis version of this is that it does the annoying thing of detaching Dick from Robin as if it didn't matter to him like it did to the others. It just kind of sucks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i love how unfatherly crowley and aziraphale both are when it comes down to it. sure aziraphale is more than willing to give the young people in his life help and advice and be their friend but he and crowley spent six years (eleven in the book) practically raising a kid (you just know his parents weren't around that often) and by the end they didn't even like him. crowley even suggested they just fucking kill him. he turned three kids into lizards for annoying him right after he destroyed their house. like it was that or kill them obviously but he did NOT hesitate with the newts. that's so funny to me. they're just inherently disinclined to parenthood. we need more characters like them actually

Strahdposting (with possible spoilers so tread lightly)
One of the worst things about Strahd in our campaign is that he's not overtly forced anyone to do anything. His underlings have, sure, but never him. He just waits for us to eliminate our options all on our own, and then presents us with his way. And of course, his way is the easiest. He'll even make it easier. We keep falling into the pit because he ensures we dig it ourselves.
We're almost past the point where he wants to bargain with us and I'm nervous about what happens when he stops being the devil we know and becomes something else altogether.
The recent reveal that there were other parties before ours has been so shattering for us, I think, because it made us all realize that our party is an amusement until it is an inconvenience, and then we'll be insects in the garden that have overstayed our welcome. And then he'll start with the force.
