these are all ones that have been big in my rotation lately.

1. favorite song off the new idkhow album. very excited to see them in concert this week. i must admit that dallon's voice in this song gets me a bit hot under the collar.

2. wallsocket is one of my favorite albums of last year- hell, one of my favorite concept albums ever- and it's very hard to pick a favorite bc every song is so unique, but i've been listening to this one the most in the past few weeks.

3. this, of course, is my favorite album of last year. francesca is my favorite song from it (and my favorite hozier song in general) but this one has been really hitting the spot lately.

4. hahahaha falling in love?? who's falling in love??? not me haha definitely not me 😳

5. this is my favorite boygenius song and it genuinely saved my life when the show first (as in january 9th) got cancelled. the news broke less than 10 minutes before i had to leave for work and i listened to this song like 20 times in my 2 hour shift bc it was the only thing helping.

hey! this is a v random question. i've seen than a lot of blogs, like you, track a # thats usually user*name*, and i always wondered like, what can someone tag you in? im guessing it differs from person to person, but like, in general? what do you expect to be tagged in? this is a genuine question bc sometimes im tempted to do it but always end up thinking like no thats weird, they dont know who i am ??? sorry for the long ask lol

I think the best way to check and see if you could tag someone in something is to check and see if they're part of the fandom of whatever it is you're tagging them in. Most blogs will have an about page or an about post and I list most if not all of my fandoms in both my about page and on my pinned about post:

Fandoms: Taylor Swift, Vera Farmiga, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Lil Nas X, Trixie Mattel / Katya, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Conjuring Universe, Disney, Dreamworks, Gaming, The Last of Us, Minecraft, Studio Ghibili, Bates Motel, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, The Office, Stranger Things, Supernatural, The Good Place, Once Upon a Time, Fringe, The Closer, The Witcher, horror, film, television, people, ect.

So I'd say I would feel comfortable being tagged in all of those things! Not sure if this helps. You could send me an anon telling me what it is and I can tell you if I'd like to be tagged in the posts?

what that previous anon said...not to swing a bat at a hornets nest but i feel that way with genshin honestly T_T it was immensely popular and everyone was into it and then a callout dropped half a year after it came out. like?

i dont particularly know much about the game and i was annoyed at it too, i have the tag blocked and i block people who post it too much, and ill believe it if someone says that its got problematic parts but.......why did yall only mention that 6 months late lol🤨🤔.......it really feels like people are just calling things out because of slight grievances they personally have with it not because they care about the people hurt by it

and i think so too!... kind of. i think that genshin is sort of an odd case because a lot of the problems because more visible as time went on and things kind of snowballed. but that being said, there still are a lot of awful aspects towards it that have been present since the beginning. i think that genshin had genuine problems but they were being considered and talked about and a lot of genshin players at the time were emailing mihoyo and doing what they could to advocate for the changes of these problems and it was all pretty self contained UNTIL people started hating it, then it became this "genshin fans dni" situation.

but on the flip side, i do think that it's justified enough to not want to be around genshin fans especially if they do not seem aware and critical of the problems in the game. obviously i'm not the end all be all say on this, but i think it's perfectly justified to say "hey, this game has problems, i don't want anyone who likes it to interact with me honestly regardless of how critical they are of it because i don't want to see it". on top of this, genshin sort of snowballed, where, while problems became evident around like january or so, after that more problems began cropping up, either because we were looking harder under scrutiny or because mihoyo genuinely just started adding shittier stuff and refused to listen to their fanbase's complaints.

genshin is hard to rule on because its status is kind of weird, but i get what you're saying, and i do think that there was a time in which a lot of the main criticism for genshin on tumblr was just because the fans were annoying and there were a lot of them.

i never know how exactly to explain the weird connection i seem to have formed with glee? i was talking to someone i went to middle school with today about glee (because life is strange and the past comes back to haunt me through my interests) and like. honestly the show is not that great. like objectively? its pretty fuckin bad for a lot of reasons. but (and i think ive said this before) theres something so compelling to me about a bunch of kids communicating through music and finding a family of their own through music, just because music so fundamentally important to the way i think.

and the way that the characters were played... the cast is made up of so many genuinely talented people who gave so many layers to a bunch of characters who may have otherwise been completely one-dimensional. i could see how someone would find any of them boring and superficial had they been played by someone less talented. and its because theres so much potential there that wasnt explored beyond what little the actors tried to give us that keeps me coming back, always. i just keep wanting and hoping that at some point maybe ill find new evidence of the deeper meanings and histories these characters shouldve had, and when i dont find it, i just want to create it myself in my own head.

and that brings me back to the music aspect. this shit goes fuckin full circle. i want to create it myself in my own head, so i turn to all the music ive collected in my silly little spotify library and i crank it and i assign it to the characters and i build up their histories and give them what i think they shouldve had - but only inside my head. but i do it set to music. im communicating my thoughts about glee through music.

im compelled by the characters communicating through music, i stay for the actors giving layers to characters that could be one dimensional, i build off what the actors tried to give us, i think about glee set to music. lather rinse repeat it all comes back around. glee said they were a musical and they made damn well sure they would stay that way even in our goddamn imaginations

i'm talking like ive hit the end of the universe but really im just waxing poetic on a fuckin musical tv comedy. i promise im not high
