I already talked about noteworthy au here but here's a bit more that I can give you on character profiles (note that I don't actually have a lot of musical experience, just school chorus up through middle school so be kind if I've gotten anything wrong):
a capella group alex joins, name tbd: 5 members*
alex: goes by gabriel from middle name gabriella?; tenor, musical theatre major
henry: third generation legacy member, face of the group/the hot one; baritone, music major
philip: third generation legacy member, musical director and president; baritone, music major
pez: he and alex get into trouble together, event planner/treasurer; tenor, dance major
liam: also from texas like alex so they bond over that, same year as alex; bass, visual arts major
*originally the a capella group in noteworthy has 8 members but I don't feel like coming up with 3 more male ocs with unique personalities (as hunter and spencer are part of a rival a capella group) so we're leaving it at 5 for now
reading this back, I'm actually now tempted to switch henry and pez in terms of their vocal registers because I think it would be very cool and gender of pez to have a deeper voice while caring fuck all about the gender binary, but I'm also a little attached to alex-pez tenors and all the mischief they get up to

as for orange au, this one is based on the manga/anime orange by ichigo takano and is for omniscient reader's viewpoint. I'm not sure how much you (or most of my other followers) know about orv, there are some very light orv spoilers, and orange is a story that deals with some heavy topics, so it's all going below the cut (including the content warnings)

first, here's a link to a very good overview of orv in terms of what it is, a summary of the plot, why it's special, about the characters/their relationships, and some caveats. it's a little long so feel free to read only as much as you want for context
what you need to know for its relevance to this au idea is that through reading orv you slowly find out that its main character kim dokja is a self-sacrificial piece of shit (affectionate) who is also very much allergic to emotional intimacy due to some childhood trauma. in the world of orv (fantastical, apocalyptic), he often will make his own plans to sacrifice himself in exchange for saving his friends' lives despite their repeated instance that they don't want him to do this and they'd rather figure out alternative plans
so it's very easy to map this tendency to the plot of orange, which is about a high school student who is trying to prevent the death of a friend after receiving letters from her future self in a parallel universe where she (and her larger friend group) lost this friend to suicide. the letters suggest ideas on how to make this friend feel less alone and less suicidal by making different decisions at critical points, as her future self (and the other friends' future selves) is very regretful that she didn't try harder to be there for him because no one realized he was struggling so badly
obviously this story isn't super realistic for a number of reasons, including the fact that the most any of us can take on is trying to be supportive of friends/family/etc who are struggling, not actually be responsible for keeping them alive. that is not a reasonable responsibility to take on and would be far too heavy for the person/people carrying it. also responsible adults and professionals should absolutely be consulted in this type of scenario, which is never brought up in the context of the story. insert many more caveats here that i cannot currently think of
however, at the same time, i also think that the story does a really good job of exploring themes of inevitability, regret, and choice which is why it's stuck with me for 7.5 years now. plus i think it just works really well with the characters of orv which is why I want to make an au of it

You were making poor Donnie crazy, and you didn't even know it.
You two had been friends for the last couple of years, after having met accidentally while putting your trash out one night.
Thinking he was in the clear, he had come up topside, having decided on using the manhole cover next to your building. He had come up alone to test some new field equipment for him and his brothers and was setting up a bunch of the equipment when he heard you clear your throat.
He spun around to find you there with your arms crossed looking comically intimidating wearing a zip-up sweatshirt and some pajama shorts - that showcased your legs quite nicely if he did say so himself.
Well shit.
"Hi, uh… I was just…" he said pointing at his homemade equipment and bumbling over his words.
"I see that," you say. "Do you need help?" You ask as you approach the towering terrapin, with zero fear.
And that was it. The rest was history. You became his new buddy.
Over the next couple of years, you spent more time together than most couples. Donnie was extremely greedy over you and your time. He wanted you all to himself, but would never say so outright. He'd just demand you be at his side to help him or keep him company, so no one else could claim you. Not that you minded. His intelligence and wit had you hanging on his every last word. Not to mention he was sexy as hell. But, alas, in fear of making things awkward in your friendship, neither of you had ever pushed for more, despite the unbelievable sexual tension.

Man of the hour: Raphael
Raph was gonna be the death of you for sure. Sweet, caring, gentle - very unlike himself, or so his brothers claimed.
It all started a year and a half ago when you met Donnie by accident. You found him treating a wound he had obtained, as he had reached through a broken window, in an attempt to retrieve a communications radio one of his brothers had managed to drop while flipping over the rooftops.
After helping him clean and wrap up the gash, you were also able to stick your small arm into the window and grab said radio.
After that, you became a regular down in the lair, always hanging out with Donnie in his lab to help him with whatever he was working on.
You were very close with the purple-banded turtle, but became quickly enamored with his brute of a brother, talking poor Donnie's ear off about your infatuation and frustration. He was your best friend, after all.
And despite Raphael's rough exterior, he was always soft-spoken and kind to you. Harmless flirting here and there with the occasional light brush of skin.
You did notice how he had started coming around Donnie's lab more and more often as of late, however. Hanging around, joking with his brother, while trying to include you in on the conversations. This did very little to help with your current unrelenting desire for him. It was starting to give you hope, which was a terrible thing, because you knew you were well out of your league. Just look at him.
Your thoughts about him had gone from zero to 100 real fast, and you were suddenly having intense sexual dreams about the sexy, hulking turtle-man.
Little did you know that for more than a year now you'd also been haunting his dreams.
"Why can’t I get enough of you?" He mumbles to himself as he watches you cleaning Donnie's office.
"I don't like her like that, you know," Donnie says.

"Look, she's my best friend, yes," says the tall terrapin, who's now leaning in so only his brother can hear him. "But anything beyond that would be… Fucking weird."
Raphael looks at his brother with wide eyes - kind of like he was just caught with his hand in the cookie jar - causing Donnie to let out a low chuckle.
"It's written all over your face, dummy," he says, "you're completely smitten."
Raph lets out a breath he didn't even realize he had been holding and looks at his brother. "Is it that noticeable?" He asks, slightly mortified.
"Is the sun hot?" Donnie retorts.
Raph sighs looking back at your currently bent-over position, making him swallow hard, and needing to readjust himself, before you catch him with a banana in his pocket.
"So what then?" He asks Donnie.

Fulfilling Wishes
It was cold, and the rain pelted down on your bedroom window so loudly that you were unable to sleep.
You missed him.
And it was ridiculous because you had just seen him less than four hours ago while having dinner with him and his family.
Your family. They had taken you in and accepted you immediately after meeting them all. They had all been your saving grace. But he had been your real hero.
You had met him accidentally when you got lost down a dark back alley, trying to navigate your way home from a new job. Your phone had died, leaving you without the GPS, and an anxiety attack was on the rise.
No friends. No family. No one to worry about where you were and whether or not you made it home safely.
He seemingly popped up from nowhere as you gasped for the air that refused to stay in your lungs long enough for you to calm down.
After talking to you for a few minutes and asking you some interesting questions, you realized that you were breathing normally again, which made you smile at him.
He smiled back and asked if he could help you get home, which you were incredibly grateful for, and took him up on the offer before he could even finish his question.
You sighed as you lay there reminiscing and worrying about your vigilante friend and his brothers out in the horrendous weather.
The longer you thought about all of them, the more you secretly wished he was there with you - all cuddled-up safe and watching a movie, like the two of you always did during the horrible weather. Or after a long shitty day. He was your safety blanket. Always there for you when you needed him.
And he was literally like a blanket. All warm and cuddly. You loved when he had those powerful arms wrapped around you, squeezed up against his chest. The way his steady breathing created the illusion of calming waves as his strong heartbeat erased your anxiety and stress from the long, awful day.
And he had a way with you. When no one else could cheer you up or calm you down, it was always him who knew the right words to say. He knew exactly what you needed emotionally, and he never failed to deliver it in abundance.
You yearned for his gentle touch and to hear his low voice whispering in your ear. You loved the way he would trace his finger down your arm… Or make little designs in the palm of your hand whenever you sat together.
It was always so… Platonic.
And you wished it wasn't.
Because you loved him.
As more than just a friend…

My starry night, I can’t thank you enough for this outpouring of love you’ve shown. There’s a group of people here that have been so supportive of me (you included) and I appreciate it. It’s a weird feeling to construct a character that people feel love for. It feels like a power I’m not worthy of, almost.

I really struggled with the name reveal. The more I thought about it, it was so important to have her spell something out.
I hope that people can see beyond the name drop the way you have. This story is over 440 pages long, and hopefully people won’t feel turned off by two words.
This story is about finding yourself, forgiving yourself, and fighting for yourself. It’s important that Honey notes early on that she doesn’t know how she could love Peter when she doesn’t even love herself. It’s such a powerful lesson for me and for her. Self-love is the most important kind of all, and yet it’s so hard for us to find sometimes (myself included).
Another important piece to note is that <firstname lastname> is the name given to her at birth. She became “Mrs. Walker,” and wears it like a scar on her heart. Proof of her survival. “Honey” began as an idea—a fantasy, but is a mantle she can make her own. Honey is who Peter is in love with and now she knows that he knows who that woman really is.
It doesn’t matter what she was born. Honey is who she wants to become.
That being said, it’s so very lovely to meet you. 💜

I don't want to be the change I want to see in the world
Really getting to that point where the lack of fanfics for my not even niche interests is bothering me. I'm too old. I've been reading fanfic for too long. The well has run dry of all the good shit.
I can't even make myself read reader insert, or y/n, because my dumb brain can't handle it, but props to everyone who does.
I just want stuff with a new character or something added in, where they reasonably fit into the world, and make sense as a rounded but flawed character who isn't all powerful or super perfect.
And fuck, you know what I really want? A character tempted by the darkside in a way that isn't just a forced plot point. A fix-it au that isn't just as simple as 123 done Anakin didn't kill the younglings. Clone appreciation. Obi-Wan getting to be at least somewhat happy in the end. Delving into the force without suddenly giving characters the ability to suddenly do shit that even Yoda couldn't do.
And I know other people feel the same, and I'm part of the problem, because I could definitely at least try to contribute, but I don't even know who would want to read that.
Also, this comes from my childhood desire to write and read and publish fanfiction because I wanted more content, but being too terrified to do so because my family had no rgard for privacy and I knew I would be relentlessly mocked for it. But I'm an adult now, and I want my clone wars fanfiction.

Had this weird idea for a male reader insert, like I don't really write overpowered reader stuff but I've been tempted to do one and then me and my friends were like joking around at 4 in the morning and it gave me an idea.
" Demon King of Magic"
The male reader is the demon that gave humans magic centuries ago (which i know isn't Canon but thought it'd be funny) I don't know if it'd be legit chapters if I wrote it or just crack chapters of this demon king reader who got bored and was like "I'm gonna see what the humans are doing with my gift" just to find out about the death eaters and be like "the fuck is this bullshit!?" But since he's trying not to draw too much attention he just gets a job at Hogwarts as like security or something trying not to use a ton of power so he seems human enough but at the same time he's like.
"Unforgivable curses? Bitch thats kiddie magic let me show you some real shit!" Proceeds to disintegrate a forest.
I dunno i thought it'd be funny to write since I haven't been motivated to commit to my other things I don't know if I'd do any romance but I just thought it'd be funny if this demon king like took in the Golden trio and their friends/family and was like "these are my problem children"
Oh or i could make it somewhat lore filled and have it like where the demon reader uses his magic to temporarily take human form and be reborn into this human family with memories of his time as the demon king he simply chose to be human and help deal with Voldemort because its less "magic god is here" like you'd still have insane magic but you'd tone it down a little bit.
"Killing curse tickled thats like at best first tier magic. Now let me show you tier 10 motherfucker!"
I haven't slept in a while this is pure chaos and I'm aware but I thought it'd be funny to share.

Idly thinking about poly Su8bmas with some Blankshipping thrown in for flavor where they both are into you and finally convince you to give this poly thing a try but at the same time hide their relationship to each other towards you insisting "nono, we are only both dating them, there's nothing weird going on here.
