I have what I like to call a “makeup-passing” face, which means that my eyelashes are dark and my lips are red and my skin is more or less the same color across the board by default, and by and large one of the most hilarious conversations I’ve ever had was when this adult woman went off about this sixteen-year-old in our work group who never wore any makeup. Now, I didn’t like this girl, her personality was just miserable and she was horrible at teamwork, but neither of those things have anything to do with makeup. So this adult woman started going on about how she never wears any makeup, and I was like, “Uh, well, I don’t wear makeup either,” hoping that would angle the conversation back towards her actual flaws, but this woman was not letting up. She said, “I’m not asking her to wear a ton, but every woman who respects herself should have a little lipstick and some basic mascara every day,” and I got a little fed up and said, “I don’t own any mascara and I only wear lipstick with evening gowns,” and this adult woman just kind of stared at me for almost forty seconds before going. “Well. You can do that.” Like she was so obviously trying so hard to avoid saying that I was pretty enough to do that but this other girl wasn’t because even she could tell it was kind of a shitty thing to say when it was that plainly put, but she was also having a lot of trouble getting over this “wearing makeup is the way for a woman to respect herself (and the people around her)” hump and it was honestly genuinely funny.

#i was eighteen at the time and not especially confrontational #i probably shouldnt have been shit talking the girl but listen she was horrible to work with #i never intended for the conversation to go further than #'i dont like working with her' 'me neither shes annoying'#but such is the nature of such conversations they often go further than you meant #anyway tho her makeup habits had nothing to do with why she was hard to work with #i think the woman thought it was another symptom of her personality flaws? but like genuinely there are so many reasons #to not wear makeup or to wear it #you cant make assumptions across the board about why someone does it or what it says about them #but yeah #i wouldnt say im lucky to look like this because i cant go to a corner store without the cashier asking for my number #but then i also dont have to hear random makeup lectures from older women who arent my mother so #you win some you lose some i guess #its not super comforting when i know theyre mostly only refraining from the lectures because they think im wearing makeup #i did actually wear quite a bit of foundation/eyeshadow/lipstick in college #i was experimenting #also the foundation had acne medicine in it and it was fantastic #some of the best ive used #but after i ran out i couldnt find the same brand again so i stopped doing that #sometimes i get wild colored lipstick and wear it tho #esp blue

UNLESS he actually cares about them #which is far and few in-between considering he's mainly out for himself #its HARD to pin down this fucker's intentions because it really just depends on the circumstance and the person in question

years ago i pointed out that we don’t actually know if bdubs considers himself to be a poc or not. and assuming one way or the other, and and drawing him with skin noticeably darker than either his irl or cubito’s skintone (something a lot of people were doing back then, for some reason) was just as weird as drawing him lighter. and i got called racist for it -_-

i understand where youre coming from, and i definitely see your issue here though i am also white so i wont speak too much on the comments of being called racist for apparently getting his skin color correct esp because i dont know what you were drawing. it is understandably annoying if people get mad when you think you did it right but skin color is certainly a hard topic to cover when it comes to art and aiming to get skin color right. thats a whole Thing outside of just drawing bdubs himself tbh

thing is, considering yourself poc or not doesnt have to correlate to skin color and bdubs presumed lack of identifying with the label of nonwhite wont change the topic around coloring his skin accurately, but i would hope it stops fans from deciding a label to bring up for him. like the label of not poc doesnt change the accuracy of coloring his skin but i think, it changes the discussion around it?

like again i cant speak personally on a lot of skin color rep and how to do it right. but like saying "noticeably darker than either his irl or cubito’s skintone was just as weird as drawing him lighter" that doesnt sound like a great way to express the issue of drawing skin colors tbh. like imo thats not a great way to say that i think.

i dont think bdubs talking about being white will change the topic of just getting the skin color correct. its clear that some recent art like the marketplace art made him really pale and thats obvious wrong to his minecraft skin. the coloring it accurately discussion will always be there but i hope it gives some people context on what they claim of bdubs ya know.

#racing!#fucking. every time i blink a tit spills out of whatever bra im wearing at the moment and its pissing me off #why are they getting bigger. stop. im about to diy a double mastectomy at home #i dont want to have to get new bras. those are expensive. i cant just not wear one now for many reasons #binding no longer an option bc a) my binders are lost in storage/no longer fit and b) it hurts after a while #im so mad. its like just enough growth that theyre slightly too big to stay where i need them to (in the bra)#but theyre not big enough that anyone can notice yet so whatever i guess. thats a small win in this ongoing awful battle

i think i'm doing everything very wrong but okay i guess lol

#loveless and lonely huh. i guess yea #'why did u turn out this way' girl idk #i genuinely thought i was being sincere and like. relaxed (compared to my normal self)#god this just made me remember that time right after the lockdowns where i was trying to be Normal #but like i was being so rigid and nonverbal in general #i think? im not like that now but still everytime someone says things like this i just wish i never stopped being like that #because like. why the hell did i even say or do anything. i could just not do anything and stay quiet #in this case i wish i didnt say anything lol #but everything has its downsides. just cant win in social situations #neg #🗒

#shut up hanna #im so fucking sick of being a burden #that actually was what i typed in the text part originally. then was like jesus CHRIST what am i 14 running a b&w blog ??#but genuinely genuinely thats how i feel and i cant stop #and feeling stupid for feeling like a depressed 14 year old just makes it soooo much worse !!#but i DO and i AM like i.#i was complaining abt the job and it being unfair and unhealthy but i was having fun #and i also was complaining bc i didnt get to participate in the festival at all bc i was too busy #and now i dont have it anymore and im still getting the scholarship from it and getting to do my classes #and im Still upset. actually devastated. FOR WHY #but i havent made friends here besides the interns. and we all got pretty close. and now theyre just gone and ill never see them again :(#and i don't get to do all the fun crew things with them #AND its too late to even actually like. do anything w the festival i was upset abt missing like #i wanted to choreograph a student piece and i wanted to audition for other ppls #thats all passed now lmao #and all the drop in classes are full :/#i lost the thing that was draining me but i also lost all the ppl i knew here :(#and now its like im back at square one. but with extra guilt and trauma now #and its like jesus CHRIST theres no FUCKING winning with me !! theres no pleasing me im gonna be upset no matter what !! like just STOP #i dont even know what i want. i guess. actually. actually what i want is to not have a fucking concussion lmao #and to be able to healthily finish the summer as planned and cheerily complain with my fellow exploited interns abt our unpaid labor #and be grateful for the experience and be certain im never doing it again. thats the other thing i KNOW im not doing this again #like im never gonna seek out a tech theatre internship when i could be doing a dance thing #but its very very very helpful experience!!! and its fun for sure #and it just fucking sucks. it sucks. all around #it feels like they all hate me and ill never be able to make things right. ive ruined everything somehow #and i cant even apologize :(#i just HATE leaving on such bad terms with no closure whatsoever #and i dont wanna bitch to my friends anymore bc i already did so much :/ and now the job i was complaining abt is over for me!#and im still sad. and i feel so guilty for it. and i feel gross for being so fucking needy rn. everything is bleak
