oh no i am NOT huge on this new layout... this just feels like a coat of Twitter Paint tbh
#a UI upgrade is probably a good thing to do but this just feels really blatantly “We Need To Be More Like Twitter”#like all the side buttons are in the exact same place as on twitter come on#hot take i think a slight learning curve when joining a new website is fine actually they don't all have to act the same#keep tumblr unique and i don't just mean that as a “things were better back in my day” way#i mean tumblr needs to feel like a distinct website if it wants to actually stake out any territory in the social media landscape#i keep looking at the right side expecting to see horrifically transphobic trending topics#just because this layout tells my brain “this is twitter so watch out for Twitter Things”#i appreciate staff wanting to streamline things and like i said a UI refresh is good to do now and again but this. isn't working for me
