i think paramore is the best & i’m right
since their formation in 2004, paramore has been the most influential rock band in the world. almost 20 years later i am standing behind this statement because even though the world has moved on from its early 2000s’ emo/scene phase, i will not let everyone forget that paramore has had as much of an impact, if not more, than other groups at the time including fall out boy, panic at the disco, and my chemical romance (which all have become known as the “emo trinity”). paramore being left out of this list is a crime, and the album linked above alone shows that they are better than all three of those artists’ discographies combined. the article linked below will also tell you that emo music isn’t dead and that it still has a role in today’s society!
what’s funny about this is that personally, i am more of an r&b listener. i haven’t been an avid “alternative” or “indie” music person since middle school and this post makes me sound like a total nerd but i’m 20 now and i can’t stop listening to paramore these days... it’s like i’m 13 again. that’s kind of what makes it great though because there’s this sense of nostalgia along with the contentment knowing that they are still an active band. one reason i think they are iconic is this:

where would the twilight movie franchise be without this song on its soundtrack? the answer is NOWHERE.
i’d also like to say that they do it all. they began as a rock band and still hold those roots but have made contributions to punk, indie, and pop music. their last album called after laughter shows not only their growth but also their range. it’s just crazy to me that paramore has a female lead who started at age 14, a drummer who began when he was 12, and the group has won a grammy unlike their aforementioned peers. i literally love them and yes that is my opinion, but they are so good on their records and in live performances... these are my favorite songs by them lyrically but feel free to comment/message me with any of your favorites too because i am somehow circling back into my scene phase now as a college student.
