Things I have discovered while writing my NaNo project

turns out I'm not the expert speller I thought I was

'says' has lost all meaning

there are so many phrases and sentence fragments I repeat over and over DEAR GOD

god, so many "she/he/they moves" "walks" "goes over there" etc this is excruciating

why do we even need to know where characters are or are going anyway

SO MUCH EYE CONTACT AND EYE EMOTING. I'm running out of synonyms for "look"

transitional paragraphs WHAT TRANSITIONAL PARAGRAPHS

character development is overrated, right?

tenses are outrageous.

The worst evil of a human being is to be naive and believe that you can fix the world by writing. The reality is that the world is lost, and you are lost with it. Evil abounds and, cynically, it can be seen, to the point of telling you in your face that nothing will save you, even if you keep dreaming and believing in creating another reality. Reality is the way it is, whether you like it or not, whatever you do or don't do. You cannot change it, even if you drug yourself with beautiful emotions and healthy words. But naivety is like that, it loves to lie to you until it rips out your heart and takes it to its sad mouth, because yes, naivety is a sad child that does not satisfy its hunger until it lulls you to sleep and undresses you, since you have given in to its voice and its irresistible caress.

Colin and Penelope both being writers is so important to me because in the show they wrote to eachother! It’s so easy to believe Colin fell without realising it because he read her letters (whilst kicking his legs in the air and giggling probably) on his trips around the globe. He never once had to think about Penelope not being around- not even while he’s travelling!

Meanwhile, this is Penelope’s JAM. When she’s present in society she shrinks into herself, doesn’t want anyone to see or hear her (except Eloise and colin ofc) but writing is where she shines, I can totally picture her being all savvy and witty in these letters that Colin is doing the equivalent of smiling while you text someone.

Writing Intro! <3

Hi! I'm new to writeblr--while I'm here I'll probably post things I write for fun or events, if there are any.

I'm also trying to gain experience with writing content as well as copy so that I can become a freelance writer. I'm a student, so I want to help out with college tuition (and maybe start investing). I hope to surround myself with writers so that I can discover the topics I like, as I took a break from writing for a while. Some things that I have written in the past include Shakespearean sonnets, alternate endings, and short stories. I'm also well-versed in academic-style writing, such as essays like literary analyses, synthesis essays, rhetoric analyses, arguments, research papers, and responses to prompts.

I look forward to meeting new people and learning along the way!!!
