Yeah I think what the family needed was not only touya going to a therapist, but endeavor too because the guy’s obsession with #1 was the root cause of their destruction. I think there was a genuine, mutual connection between touya and the dad in the earlier years which probably factored into why touya was so messed up over it. Not to mention the miscommunication of it all. I also feel like too many fans exclude endeavor from young!touya’s healing when he’s a major part of it, like it or not. Idk that’s just my 2 cents. Sorry for rambling :s

Also I don’t think either parent thought he was p-slur, they just didn’t know how to talk or handle him in typical traditional asian family fashion. I do see touya thinking this about himself though.

You know what I think they *all* needed family therapy because rei showed signs of being afraid of touya ever since he tried to kill shouto plus with her own diminishing mental health she wouldn’t have been able to properly help him with these feelings inside her. They were all messed up except for fuyumi and natsuo :’s sorry last one I just had a lot of thoughts with my own family as well

endvr cld definitely use some rehabilitation. ideally, his behavior wldve been addressed much earlier on and spared us some of the heartache to come. obv setting his whole eugenics plot into motion after only like a year or two in second place was a major issue that spoke to how flawed his psyche was; but for him to so naturally fall into that, to aquire a wife to breed and to mistreat so many people with such ease, implies that he's already been in that mentality and been allowed to get away with things for so long that it was already second nature. that sort of deep, long-term mentality takes a Lot to unlearn and unpack, even if you're fully dedicated to it. he reminds me a bit of what bakugou used to be like, at the very beginning of the manga. if bakugou had continued to have his middle-school worldview validated, to have never made or friends with or had irl role models that were such good people, to have been congratulated for every misstep, i think he could've grown into an envdr- type character.

i think the best and the safest option for the family would've been to separate him from the others as early as possible. for him to get help and try to improve, and to create a support system for him that doesn't involve anyone he's forced into a subservient role. due to the fucked-up and firmly-established power dynamics in that house, i don't think there's any potential for him having a healthy relationship with rei or his kids unless he removes himself fully from the situation and doesn't pressure them to make any contact with him. he'd have to allow his family, for once, to interact with him out of their own free will. i also think that if he's going to make an honest attempt at improving, he needs to reflect upon + restructure his entire concept of heroics. aside from his ranking obsession/ inferiority complex, he fights to decimating the "bad guy" first and foremost, rather than focusing on helping the civilians or on de-escalation, and he causes a lot of unnecessary death and destruction as a side effect of this cruel and single-minded thinking. i don't think he'll be able to treat people better if he continues fighting humans so cruelly and indiscriminately (think of his vigilante vendetta), esp not when he's publically congratulated for these "wins". (i have a bit of a bone to pick with the toxic hero-civvie-villain culture at large but that's neither here nor there...)

i agree that all of them could benefit from therapy. fuyumi and natsuo are the quietest in the family about it but they have also definitely been traumatized by growing up in that place, in a major way. natsuo's actually out of the house and has been able to heal the most out of the lot in canon, but by virtue of his siblings still being entrenched in the thick of it, he's stuck in a situation where he can either be closer with his siblings and be unable to move on from envdr, or to heal on his own and continue distancing himself even from fuyunee. and then she's got her entire life dedicated to servitude- it's apparent that she's never really allowed herself any indulgences, and she probably wouldn't know what to do with her life if she was no longer able to serve the family or her students. she took upon herself rlly early on the role of the mother and of the mediator and has obviously internalized this as her duty. i wouldn't be surprised if she felt personally responsible for like "failing her familial duties" every single time a dinner is derailed, or she doesn't manage to keep endvr's rage under control. they all need to learn how to be people, instead of tools to be wielded.

listen i was feeling rlly committed to completing his stats but i’m already over it so don’t ask dont tell xx anYWAYS let’s get on to the juicy stuff hehe

i tend to ramble a lot so this intro is gonna be probably a mixture of paragraphs and bullet points and everything in between but let’s start simple. also i rlly wanna emphasize a massive DRUGS TW bc his character largely revolves around his interest in and addiction to drugs

blackmails

grayson is claiming that he's been in a rehab program for the last year and is now completely sober and reformed when he really was just using the money to party and travel throughout europe.

without his parents paying to support him now, he's had to start dealing to make ends meet and keep up appearances. it’s mostly coke, but he dabbles in harder substances depending on what his connections can get him.

grayson dabbles with calligraphy and was notorious for forging excuse notes and parent signatures all throughout high school and even now sells forgeries for a quick buck. the most notable of these was xavi’s letter of recommendation that helped him get into yale.

grayson is violet’s older brother!!1 yes, that’s right, THE big brother who’s been out of the country getting LIT (and by lit i mean he’s been traveling europe on a series of solo trips w his parents’ money and doin lots of recreational drugs)

i haven’t fully fleshed out the dynamic he has w his parents but just know it’s ,, bad ASDHFJNK basically the jeons treated their children like accessories and expected them to be their little trophies and grayson just was not having that as a kid!!! so he acted out a lot and obviously got himself into a pretty bad scene (thank u goosie) and is basically the bane of his parents existence at this point <3 yet they still try to appease him to keep him under control but that’s for the family task to work out hehehehe

despite hating his parents, he adores both of his siblings. before the drug use started, he was always a big nurturer and would have done anything for either of them......now he wouldn’t be caught dead praising violet but he loves her in secret from afar HSJDFKG

yeah basically he met goose when he was around 15 i think????? and got introduced to drugs around 16 or 17 i wanna say and by the time he graduated high school he was just....a much different person than the soft big brother he used to be. his parents sent him off to europe pretty much as soon as he turned 18 under the guise of going to school internationally, but grayson obviously knew the truth and understood that he was being sent away so he wouldn’t be his parents problem anymore.

he basically spent the last four years galavanting europe and just....trying to enjoy it???? but it’s hard to enjoy an extended vacation when u have no family or friends on ur side anymore </3 he basically used the money to stay in hostels and worked odd jobs here and there to stay afloat and keep supplied w the...special goods....but yeah lots of drugs, alcohol, sex, and recklessness but he DID learn a couple languages??? or at least enough to get through some pretty basic conversations in most european countries so <3 guess it’s all okay then!!!!

anyways idk what else to put here that u won’t just find out in the family task so uhhhhhh idk lmk if u need anything else i guess

present/personality

so now grayson is just vibing at yale obviously ummm he actually got super into writing after high school, especially poetry. he used to carry journals full of just random prose about his addiction and his deepest thoughts, as well as probably some lighter stuff about his love escapades or maybe goose idk...basically he used poetry as an outlet and it allowed him to really ground himself and find his place in the world even if it didnt include who he thought it would SO with that being said, grayson got into yale due to a poetry competition he was a part of. he saw some big fancy competition being advertised and on a whim decided to submit some poem about his struggles with addiction and losing his family (a v raw piece that he didn’t expect to ever see the light of day) and he actually ended up winning! it caught yale’s attention and they invited him to apply and, knowing how much it would probably disturb his little sister, grayson very smugly applied and was pretty stoked to see he got in

because that poem gained such publicity, it was assumed that he was a survivor of addiction and was writing from a sober perspective. he didn’t want to correct anyone, so he just went with it and has basically crafted this story about his massive success and has become an advocate for addiction treatment and rehabilitation. of course, none of the companies that sponsor him or the events that host him as a motivational speaker know that he’s snorting lines in the bathroom beforehand or dealing to half the elites, but that’s between grayson, god, and the blackmailer !

basically grayson showed back up because of violet’s blackmail being exposed. he was off in europe, unable to defend himself, and with a massive vendetta against his family so he decided what better way to reenter society than by publicly outing himself as a martyr <3333 his plan is basically to bash the family name to fulfill whatever angsty coming of age arc he has in store for him to make up for the pain of being sent away .... really angsty yeah </3 rip grayson

anyways yeah he’s a total fake. he’s been using his status as a martyr to his advantage a lot, the best example being his recruitment into the elites. he guilted them into accepting him by discussing the PR benefits of recruiting a member that struggles with addiction and how supporting addiction treatment and second chances would be such a good look for them. like he basically threatened to publicly expose them for denying him due to his troubled past and accuse them of being exclusionary so they said boop ! ur in. now the elites are proud advocates for second chances <3333

i would describe grayson as fearless, overconfident, infamous due to his condition being exposed recently, a little gloomy, he’s kind of just got this chip on his shoulder and feels like he has something to prove....he’s gotta be better than his parents, gotta stick it to them and to violet and to everyone who doubts him. he’s a grumpy guy with a massive vendetta and a need for some kind of justice. he just doesn’t know what that is yet. despite all of the bad, however, he’s genuinely a pretty good guy. he’s really goofy and a genuine person, pretty friendly with literally everyone until they give him a reason not to be. basically, unless you are a member of the jeon family he probably likes you or is at least cordial to you (unless we plot differently ofc but u know). he’s just a big lovable dummy with some sweet drug connects and a knack for poetry. he also knows calligraphy but that’s beside the point .

idk if this is enough to describe him but yeah if u have any questions just let me know hehe

this is probably gonna make things hard but considering violet was just exposed i think that he’s pretty new to yale ???? like probably just transferred in/started this spring semester rather than being here for the entire year/a prolonged amount of time so most of our plots will likely have to be newer/center on him first showing up OR we can establish their connections from pre-europe which is also fine w me....idk i didnt rlly think this timeline through so let’s just plot and see what happens aghbfjnd anyways i included some connection ideas to help us all just in case

wanted connections

i’d say he’s the honorary dealer of the elites aghbdfjn so literally anyone who needs a plug could be a potential connection. we can obviously tweak this and customize it to each character <3

maybe someone who met grayson in europe. they could have travelled together for an extended period of time or even just a brief encounter. he was over there for four years, so the possibilities are endless.

building off the last one, this same connection could work with a romantic interest. maybe they were romantically involved for a time in europe and fell out of touch or maybe grayson/your muse just left in the middle of the night and they never saw each other again until now and maybe there’s some unresolved feelings/one-sided longing or need for closure. it could also be that they just hooked up whenever this person was in the area and that was that, no strings attached.

maybe someone who genuinely believes that grayson is actually sober and really admires his strength and idk maybe they’re struggling w their own issues and seek advice from him or maybe they just make it harder for him to actually do his thing bc they’re constantly around and it’s not like they can catch him strung out and acting up

someone in the literature department or with a background in english or writing. someone he could read poetry to, or share his favorite lines with. someone who’s taken the same professors and can tell him who to watch out for or what to expect. idk i just want him to have someone to share his passions with. maybe a little crush is forming? maybe they’re just friends who share a love of fiction? idk i’m open to literally anything

he’s sort of a motivational speaker now bc he advocates for rehabilitation resources and stuff so like maybe ur muse saw him give a presentation or participate in some kind of seminar and they called bullshit on him after the show bc they were like,,, bro i literally saw u partying w max and avery last weekend what the fuck are u on about and now they could potentially hold that blackmail over his head hehe......

So her name is Margo and she's Dooks older sister! Shes the oldest of the LaRue siblings.

Her full name is Margo LaRue Maine because she WAS married but got divoriced, bc appearently she was just a little too odd for him. She has three kiddins, Dooks neices and nephew, cuz like I mentioned before I HCd that Dook and Rolfe were uncles. Shes about in her mid to late 20s, and had her first kid in her early 20s, and works as a music teacher at an elementary school. She's classically trained in piano (and shows it off to Fatz any chance she gets).

She loves to terrorize Rolfe. She gets on Rolfes case all the time but its mostly just playful teasing. Dook is her babey.... She loves him so much and shes his favorite sibling (I have a few more OCs I havent drawn)! They like to go to thrift stores and buy odd fashion items together. Shes also a big motivator for Dook. Whenever hes feeling down she'll be there to pick him back up!

She stutters and fumbles around just like her little brother.... And shes also a very energetic, outgoing, happy-go-lucky, and spiritual person. Think Phoebe from Friends, or other characters like that. Shes a big hippy, a conspiracy theorist. She gets by and lives a normal life but once in awhile will say something very concerning and makes people question her sanity.... They love her uniqueness but are very weirded out. She also has NO VOLUME CONTROL whatsoever and also word vomits like crazy. Shes impulsive. Wild. But shes still very wholesome, caring, and an all around sweetheart, albeit a chaotic mess.

When I say shes spiritual i mean.... She can literally sense spirits and stuff. Its a little freaky but it can be rlly funny seeing her argue with ghosts in front of everyone when they cant see. Or at least they hope shes speaking the truth when she says she can talk to them.

Brings the kids to showbiz once in awhile and makes rude comments to Rolfe and Earl as a joke, low-key would almost get kicked out of the establishment. Her kids would be cheering like mad whenever they saw their uncles onstage. Its so cute and Dook and Rolfe love their Neices and nephew.... Heart eye emoji

She is an all-around strange Queen and I love her the most out of all of my OCs ever.... Margo is the best and she now has a special place in my heart where Mini and Mitzi Mozzarella also lay...

kind of standoffish. she’s not really about being nice, she's about getting the job done, and that can rub people the wrong way, since she is always the first to offer up the cold, logical solution

but underneath that, she’s just a computer science nerd who is loyal to a fault

she really is loyal. its almost dangerous sometimes, because she would put the universe in danger to save her friends, which actually comes into conflict with her typical cold, logical approach.

she has 0-1 sibling. she's every bit the single child. she cannot relate to living in a big family setting, and at first its hard for her to deal with before she warms up to everyone else on the team

she's a genius, and thus found school to be tedious. in fact, she got fairly bad grades, as she wouldn't do the work that she saw as pointless and boring

she is a meme connoisseur, and loves to quote vines, often assisted by alvaro

she was friends w natia and alvaro from before, but it is akio she becomes closest with the fastest. in some ways, she feels more distant from natia/alvaro bc of how close they are with each other and bc all of them have known each other for so long while akio is someone she got to know recently: he has no preconceptions about who she used to be, and she has none about him

plus, she and akio relate on many levels: both trans, both gay, both autistic, both theorists, and both loyal to a fault. she finds a real blood brother in akio :D

the general public sees him as the fiery one: he’s the one with the fanciest footwork in a fight, and he’s very good with battle tactics. he can come thru with that strategy at the perfect times

he's a low-key emo. for sure. he loves MCR, but strangely dislikes other similar artists like p!atd and fob.

Crown likes Gank a lot! They only met like, once but they rlly got along. She feels a bit bad for them bc they seemed to think she was rlly nice and instead of considering she Might genuinely be nice she jumped to “oh shit the bar is fucking underground for this guy” skvjfnksjfvn. So she’s surprisingly attached. She wants them to have an actual friend bc it seems like they need it

I’m headed straight for the castle

Currently, no. She has a lot of dangerous shit to do and is too caught up on being A Free Spirit That Actually Gets To See The World to like,, consider settling down. And she hasn’t given any thought to what life she’ll have after her goals have been fulfilled.

But I’ve actually given some thought to this and I think she wants to make a family one day. Idk if it’ll include children (probably adopting older “problem” children tbh) or a spouse but she definitely wants to settle down with at least one pet

Going for Love since I talked about Gank already. He bedrudgingly admires how cunning and People Smart Love can be. Absolutely hates how much of a Bastard he is and how hot he is

Why is your character’s lowest stat their lowest (the in-character reason, not “because there’s no reason for a wizard to have 16 strength, duh”)?

Both int and wis are at a -2!

Wisdom: he wasn’t uh. raised in a way where he rlly got to learn the ways of people’s minds, or do anything but repress his own feelings. and once he was out on his own he was so focused on being a reckless fool he never even tried to change that

Intelligence: He has big adhd and always had a hard time learning. Instead of being supported he was yelled at and punished for stupidity. He retaliated by refusing to keep trying. So now he’s dumb

I have an entire playlist for him please look at it I worked so hard on it-
