calling it right now that season 3 starts like this

#so confused about people saying the season finale feels like the end because to me it didn't at all #there's like 5-10 issues immediately set up for another season #they're in a happy place at this point because they've both realized their love is bigger than anything else #and makes it worth working on their problems together #the problems are still very much there #both of them have deep self esteem/self loathing issues that haven't been resolved in the week since ed woke up #ed doesn't know about stede's trauma #they haven't talked through anything #and they'll be shit at starting/running an inn lmao it's not gonna go well #and those are just some of the internal issues #then there's prince ricky and all the authorities that would very much like to get their hands on both blackbeard and stede bonnet #because stede just full-on kept using his government name after faking his death. nice one #the crew are not “gone” they're more like off to college for a bit but will probably run into trouble immediately #again because while they escaped to the ship they didn't eliminate the threat (the british empire)#it's not a forever goodbye #ok this got super long already anyway i have a whole fic marinading in my brain until i've finished these 4 wips i'm in the middle of ✌️#hope we get a renewal soon because i want to see the rest of their story!!#ofmd s2 spoilers #ofmd s2 #ofmd #our flag means death

left is a real prop dagger i think? its used by an ensemble member for capture the flag and i think luke also uses it after last day of summer

right is a captuee the flag sword (the pvc sword behind it is what we use for rehearsal) and thats what most campers get for capture the flag :3 i think theyre made of wood (idk im doin hand to hand)

the sheild was flipped over :/ but im guessin thats the apollo one. theres like nine or something. one for each of the actually represented cabins? idk

anyway hopefully i can go to costuming next week. i should be able to FINALLY unless the schedule gets changed last minute. uhh i went to sets for a bit this week and i think most people are workin on the columns but we had to scavange for plywood from an old platform...and that took. over an hour :/// i might force someone in props to kidnap me so i can see the minotaur (i say that as if i dont already go to tech that im not signed up for) and maybe get pictures of the shields

Okay so, Kendall in the water this episode didn’t read to me as necessarily just suicide/suicidal ideation/rebirth…but it’s also Kendall’s flippant relationship to death. He just spent like, what, 45 minutes on stage pitching what can be conceived as either metaphorically or literally the product of immortality. His father had just died and he manipulated footage to have his dead dad speaking down on him and assuring him and everyone of Living Plus’s success. Much like Logan, he has a paradoxical relationship to death where he must always keep it on his mind, but also wants to shove it away and never confront it ever again. Kendall is unable to come to grips with the reality of mortality so he’s willingly putting himself in harms way. Kendall doesn’t want to be in charge of death. He doesn’t want the responsibility and power that his dad wanted to hold. He would much rather allow it to take its chances with him so he doesn’t have to.

As much as Kendall blusters about being the boss, the CEO, the attention whore, the bad guy, the pilot, the strong dog, he will always want to be taken care of. He needs somebody to take care of him. Water nearly killed him. He nearly let it kill him in Italy. He chose not to let it kill him in England. And then he let it kill someone else in that very same river. Perhaps the ocean, and in turn death, is the one constant in his life that will always be able to take care of him like that.

Not again, Logan, she thinks, only to remember that they’d entombed him that afternoon. Just another hurt-comfort fix-it fic immediately following S4E9.
