You first met Sunwoo at a bar, dressed all in black, swirling his drink around in its glass as he watched you sit down a few seats away from him. You were dying to have a drink, but the bartender seemed to be in the back or elsewhere, so you just waited listlessly, unsure what to do with yourself.

Until Sunwoo talked to you.

"What do you want to drink? Wine? Whiskey? Beer?"

You turned to him in confusion, certain he was a guest himself from his expensive looking suit and watch.

"Wine," you replied anyway.

He looked around, as if making sure not to get caught, before he walked around the counter to pour you a glass.

"Can you just do that?"

He looked at you with an almost disinterested shrug. "Looks like I can."

His boldness made you laugh. "What's your name?"

"Whatever you want it to be." It was such a cliché line and you should have cringed, but instead you found yourself drawn to him. There was something intriguing about him.

"Oh, really? Anything is fine?"

"Sure, I'll be anyone for you. The bartender for example. Or—," he leaned over the counter, close enough to speak in a whisper, "maybe you want me to be someone else tonight?"

After getting involved with him you quickly realized he hadn't lied; he became whomever you wanted him to be. It seemed there were no limitations of who he was willing to become for you—a bartender, an affair, a guy who took you out for dinner, a friend who accompanied you to your nephews soccer game, a lover—but there was one grave exception: He could never just be Kim Sunwoo. He could never be completely truthful, always holding on to a zillion secrets that you couldn’t even scratch the surface of. As much as he loved to hear about you, find out all your likes and dislikes, as little did he reveal about himself. For every tiny thing you knew about him, there was another bigger one you didn’t and it drove you insane. You knew he often met 'friends' late at night, but you didn’t know a single one of their names. You knew he drove a black Mercedes, but you didn’t know why the license plate kept changing every other week. You knew the scent of his laundry detergent, but you didn’t know where the blood stains on his shirt came from. 'Don't worry about it', he would say, but how could you not? 'Not knowing is more exciting than the boring truth', but if the truth was so boring why couldn't he tell you?

Perhaps he was right about the excitement of it all, but secrets can only last so long before they start feeling like lies. They were feeling like lies now, with Sunwoo sleeping next to you in your white sheets, eyes closed so peacefully despite the dark circles and the bloody scratch on his cheek. He'd sneaked into your bed just a while ago, too late to still be considered night, too early to count as morning. The sun hadn't risen yet, but it wasn't dark anymore, the room dyed in a cold blue. Maybe you should have been upset that he'd come to your place at this time, the sound of the door rousing you from your sleep. But somehow it made your chest feel full instead. He probably had a nice, expensive apartment somewhere (not that you'd ever been there) but he was coming home to you instead, seeking your company after whatever had kept him up until the blue hour. It must have been something bad. You were neither stupid nor naive enough not to see the signs. But you'd simply decided to turn a blind eye. At first because it seemed exciting to have an affair with a dangerous man. And then because you started to like him, and it was easier to justify being with him if you pretended he had an office job with odd hours rather than whatever it was he actually did for a living.

But you slowly realized that wasn’t going to work anymore. You struggled to fall asleep when he wasn’t there, unsure if he was just at home or maybe out somewhere, doing something. Whenever he snuck into your bed in the middle of the night, you knew he'd been up to no good, and yet you felt relief wash over you, because at least it meant he was alive. You couldn't stop yourself from worrying, and you felt if you already worried anyway you should at least know what it was you were worrying about. He would have to tell you.

With careful hands you brushed his hair out of his forehead, revealing another small wound right above his eyebrow. He flinched when you accidentally grazed it with your thumb.

"Sorry," you whispered, even though you thought he was still sleeping. But his eyes fluttered open.

"No need to be," he whispered back and you wondered how his voice could possibly be so gentle and sweet, despite the dark secrets he seemed to be hiding.

"Who hurt you?"

"No one. It doesn’t matter."

"It does matter. I can't keep watching like this without knowing what's going on." You pulled your hand away but he held onto your wrist, a loose grasp that you could have easily shaken off if you'd wanted to. But you didn’t. His touch felt warm.

"It's better this way," he insisted, and despite the seriousness of the conversation his voice stayed gentle and calm. "How long could you love someone you know everything about? There always needs to be a little secret, something to reveal, to find out."

"Where does that leave me then? You know pretty much everything about me. Are you tired of me yet? Disillusioned?"

He let out a breathy laugh. "Don't be silly. How could I ever get tired of you?"

"Then what if I feel the same way?"

"That's impossible."

You frowned. "It's not."

"You say that because you don't know better. But I can't risk losing you." He squeezed your hand and closed his eyes and you knew the conversation was over for him.

"You're already risking it," you whispered but he didn't hear it. Or maybe he just pretended not to.

Your patience was running thin. How could you forgive the way he'd suddenly disappear during dinner due to 'emergencies' that he never explained to you? How could you ignore the smell of iron on his coat? How could you pretend not to see the injuries on his body, from the bloody knuckles to the dressed wound on his shoulder? You knew Sunwoo genuinely liked you. It showed in all the little ways he cared and maybe it showed most in the way he tried to keep you out of the troubles he was involved with. But you didn't want him to be kept out of trouble. You weren't as fragile and breakable as he made you out to be and you were convinced you could handle whatever dark truth he was hiding. If only he would let you.

When you saw him reach for the juice on the coffee table during movie night, flinching when the movement put a strain on his injured shoulder, you finally broke.

"I can't do this anymore," you said quietly, your serious voice not matching the atmosphere of the lighthearted movie at all. "You have to tell me the truth. Or leave."

"We've had this so many times. Why are you so keen on knowing? Weren't the secrets what drew you to me in the first place?"

"No," you replied a little too quickly, just to backpedal a second later. "Maybe. But I don't want that anymore, Sunwoo. I'm tired of secrets."

He pressed his lips together. "This is all I can give, though."

This outcome wasn't unexpected, and yet hearing him say it still hurt. You didn't want to give up, you didn't want to lose him, but you knew that things couldn't continue like this.

"Okay," you whispered, your voice weak and shaky. "We're over then."

He opened his mouth to say something, but then he closed it again, at a loss for the right words.

"I'll go to my friend's place for a few hours," you continued. "I expect you to be gone when I'm back."

You already felt the tears brimming at your eyes, but you had to stay strong, at least until you made it out the door. You picked up your phone from the coffee table and got up to leave, a part of you hoping for a reason to stay even now. The movie was still running, the roaring laughter of one of the characters filling the unbearable silence between the two of you. This was really it, you thought to yourself, but the realization wasn't really sinking in. After all the time you'd spent together, how could it just end like this? How could he—

"I'm not a good person," Sunwoo suddenly pressed out, the desperation in his voice making you stop in your tracks. You almost let out a sigh of relief.

"I know that," you replied after a beat. Because it was true, you'd known all along, even without him telling you the details.

"No, you don't."

You turned around to him. "Then explain it to me."

"I can't. You'll leave, if I do."

"Well, I'm definitely leaving if you don't."

He let out a bitter chuckle. "It seems no matter what I do you will leave me."

"Maybe. But there is only one way to find out."

He ruffled his hair, clearly agonizing over what to do or say, before he finally brought himself to speak.

"I just—," he started and you didn’t think you'd ever heard his voice so fragile before, "it's okay if the world is looking at me with contempt, fear, disgust… But just you—I don't care about anyone else, but I wouldn’t be able to take it if you started to look at me differently."

You sat back down on the couch with him, trying to meet his gaze, but he avoided eye contact. "I won't."

"You don't know that."

"But I know that I love you," you whispered, squeezing his hand in yours. "What could possibly change that?"

At your words, he finally looked up, eyes wide and surprised. "Do you?"

"I do. If you'll let me."

He stared at you in silence for another moment, searching your face for a trace of insincerity, for any reason not to trust you. But he came up empty.

"Okay," he finally whispered. "What do you want to know?"

"Your job, for starters."

He scrunched up his face in discontent, but he let you continue.

"And you need to introduce me to your friends, at least one. And you need to let me go to your place."

Sunwoo clearly didn't like any of this, rubbing the bridge of his nose, before eventually letting out a defeated sigh. "Fine. I'll tell you everything. And I'll take you to my place, too. It's not very homely though."

"We can make it homely."

That put an actual smile on his face and it made you want to kiss him.

"But let's take things slow, please. This is—it isn't easy for me."

"Okay," you nodded, before leaning in and leaving a small peck on his lips. "Let's take it slow. But don’t go back on your word."

His smile widened as he kissed you back, his hand naturally coming up to your jaw. "I promise I won’t," he replied between kisses.

"How can I be sure of that?"

"Because I love you, too."

You were as beautiful as you were the day you left him.

Granted, you looked a little different, older and mature. Your curves had a devastating effect on Hyungwon's focus, leading him to overappreciate how you filled out the leggings you wore. He was on his way over to you before he even realized it.

"So, splurging on your day off or…?" He gestured to you.

"Just a day out. Hopefully, just window shopping but if I see something cute for her…" You shrugged with a grin and he hated it. Hated how comfortable things were, how natural talking to you was after all these years. Hated how he still missed you. His fingers itched to touch your face. His lips longed to feel yours one last time.

"That's cute." As much as it hurt to think about, he had to get away before he made a mistake. "Well, it was great to see you again. And meet your precious daughter."

Your eyes widened. "Oh! Well, if you're not too busy, wanna head to the food court and grab lunch? I'd love to hear what you've been up to. Hear about your mom."

He knew he should've said no, but he found himself nodding anyway. "Sure, why not?"

It was late. Like super late. Like 1- 2 a.m. late. And Soobin was a little tipsy. Well, a little more than a little, more like super tipsy…Soobin was drunk. He recently met a new friend, Hyungwon, through some content he had to film. He was a little nervous and awkward at the first meeting. Which led him here on the verge of being piss drunk at 2:00 in the morning with only one thing on his mind. He…had…tea to spill.

The good thing about having idol friends you can trust is having someone who can relate to you and understand the same wins and hardships of the job. They can even make the experience less difficult especially when you need a break from your members which everyone does once in a while. The good thing about drinking with idol friends you trust is the tea that's spilled. It's the entertainment industry. Everyone is meant to keep a good image of this, and not hooking up or dating that, no beef. But at the end of the day they’re humans too so they’re bound to make human mistakes, which is fine. And Soobin is only human too so the talk or drama really entices him. And he's the perfect person to talk to. He listens well, gives good reactions, and never tells. Of course, unless you add his members, specify Yeonjun. Him and Yeonjun have the same love of being on the listening end of the hot drama going on behind the scenes. Only it's a bit different from Yeonjun. Everyone knows he also probably has something to share due to the sheer amount of friends and parties he attends. With Soobin, he keeps a low profile and small circle of close friends so no one expects him to have any tea himself (even though he knows it all) so when he responds ‘oh I wish I had something to tell as entertaining as that, pretty boring on my end’ it's more believable.

As he took off his shoes and headed to the kitchen for some water he had one thing on his mind. A late night tea spill with Yeonjun. Who was probably up at this hour. And if he wasn't he’ll just wake him. As he finished his water, he left the glass on the counter and started down the hallway for Yeonjun’s room. As he got closer, he couldn't tell if there was light coming from under the door but he could hear noises which was good enough for him. He practically stumbled into the door frame before he “gently” knocked on the door. Head feeling heavy, he rested it on the door and yell-whispered “Hyung…Hyung are you up I have so much to te-”

Suddenly the door swung open which almost made Soobin fall.

“Soobin! What man, not right now.” Yeonjun said with a tone of annoyance in his voice. One that Soobin’s inebriated brain could not pick up on. He giggled and stumbled back up while speaking.

“Hyung just wait till I tell you what I heard tonight about these idols from OUR company you're not gonna believe it-” Soobin finally took Yeonjun's state. Monsta X Reaction: The First ‘I Love You’

There is a chance you'll beat him to it and get the first 'I love you' in, but once it's been said, he isn't going to stop. Will literally tell you every chance he gets from then on.

Kind of says it by accident. You are just being you, maybe reading or drawing or watching nature, something simple, and he finds you so endearing that it just slips out. You smiled back to the members of staff that Hyunwoo was introducing you too. “This is my one, the person that I’ve been telling you guys all about for so long,” he told them all.

“It’s nice to finally meet you in person,” one of his managers smiled, extending his hand out for you to shake it.

You shook his hand as he introduced himself to you, as did the other members of staff too. “I hope Hyunwoo doesn’t just talk about me,” you told all of them.

“You talk about Y/N every single day,” one of them noted.

Your head shook as Hyunwoo did the same, protesting his innocence. “Your poor managers, they don’t want to listen to you talk about me.”

“He constantly tells us how in love with you he is,” another interjected, “remind me Y/N and I’ll make sure to record him one day.”

“I’d love that,” you joked, “I’m interested to hear what you say about me.”

“It’s all good things, I promise.”

Minhyuk:

The boys all looked around as Minhyuk returned home, staring across at him straight away. “What happened?” They all simultaneously asked, sitting on the edge of their seats.

“Y/N is officially mine,” he laughed as the boys all cheered, standing up and making their ways over to congratulate him.

Once they’d all hugged him, they were quick to usher Minhyuk across to the sofa. “Tell us all of the details, how did you manage to get yourself a girlfriend?”

“I can’t believe you’re not single anymore,” Jooheon laughed.

The rest of the boys, including Minhyuk, all nodded in agreement with him. “It does feel like a bit of a dream, I’m definitely punching too.”

“You’re not wrong, we’re all wondering the same thing,” Changkyun teased, nudging Minhyuk’s side, “how did you manage to do it?”

“Good question,” Minhyuk sniggered, “we might never get the answer too.”

“You’ve done with Y/N, Min.”

Kihyun:

Your smile was soft as you rolled onto your side to come face to face with Kihyun. “I’m so happy that you’re mine,” he suddenly whispered, reaching under the duvet for your hand.

“I couldn’t be happier to be yours too,” you replied, lacing your hand in with Kihyun’s, “thank you for choosing me.”

Kihyun’s head shook back at you straight away with a chuckle, “you made picking you the easiest job in the world because no one else compares to you.”

“Stop,” you suddenly whispered, feeling your cheeks begin to darken as Kihyun stared across at you, “it’s too late at night for you to start making me blush like you are Ki.”

“I didn’t say anything,” he tried his best to defend.

Your hand poked against his chest, looking away from him, “how can you expect me not to blush when you’re laying there calling me yours.”

“I’m not wrong, am I?” He giggled, squeezing against your hand, “why can’t you look at me? I want to be able to see your smile.”

“Stop being adorable towards me then,” you warned, looking across at him.

“There we go, so cute.”

Hyungwon:

Your eyes widened as you unwrapped the gift that Hyungwon gave you, lifting up several pieces of the group’s merchandise. “Are you allowed to give me these for free?”

“Of course,” he chuckled as you began to look through it all, “your mine, who else can I give it all to?”

The corners of your mouth instinctively turned up as he spoke, “your fans spend so much money to get your merch, and then you go and give me all of this.”

“You’ve got to look the part when you join us on tour,” Hyungwon reminded you, “I want every single member of staff to know that you’re mine for the whole tour.”

“Stop saying that I’m mine,” you nervously requested.

Hyungwon’s smile grew too as you spoke, “why would that be? I don’t suppose me calling you mine is making you a little nervous, is it?”

“It might be making me a tad shy,” you admitted, looking away from Hyungwon’s eyes, “I should be used to you doing this.”

“Doing what? I didn’t do anything?” Hyungwon innocently asked you in reply.

“You know what you’re doing.”

Jooheon:

You didn’t know where to look, as the guy at the bar asked if you were single, taking a nervous sip from your drink. “I’m not single,” you told him, admittedly unconvincingly.

“They’re taken, and they’re mine,” a voice suddenly spoke up, looking to your left as Jooheon appeared.

With that, the guy at the bar very quickly stepped away, leaving you both alone. “I didn’t know what to do,” you whispered, resting into Jooheon’s side.

“It’s alright,” he assured you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “I think he might have had one too many drinks, I caught him as soon as I came out of the toilet.”

“He wasn’t taking no for an answer,” you frowned.

Jooheon continued to squeeze you tightly, “it’s a good job that he took no as an answer from me, no one messes with what’s mine, including you.”

“Thank you for standing up for me,” you smiled weakly across to Jooheon, “who knows what would have happened if you didn’t come.”

“No one gets to upset you and get away with it,” he encouraged.

“You’re the best, thank you.”

I.M:

Your heart raced as Changkyun spoke, losing all control as he took you to one side of the house. “Are you alright? You’re barely saying anything?” He asked you with a wide smile.

“Y-yeah,” you stuttered, forgetting that you were at his family home for a short while, “it’s nothing really.”

Changkyun’s brows knitted together, “I haven’t done anything, have I?” He nervously asked you, relieved when you shook your head in reply to him.

“Earlier when you were introducing me to your aunt and uncle, you didn’t call me Y/N, you addressed me as mine,” you told him, “I don’t know, it just got to me.”

“A happy surprise for me to call you that?” He quizzed.

Straight away your head nodded back at him, “honestly, it just made my heart race. I couldn’t say anything to them because I just couldn’t.”

“I sent you weak,” Changkyun sniggered, chuckling back across at you, “I’m sorry, but I was just being honest to them.”

“I’m glad,” you assured him, “just maybe warn me when you say it next time.”

“I won’t make you so shy, I promise.”

Monsta X March Reading 2024

Shownu

Love: So i am here to confirm that Shownu is dating and that it does seem like his relationship is going through that change like in january. I believe that they took a step further in their relationship (either engagement, going to live together, ect). in any case he is happy and working for it

Career: his career is also going well, he has the right people around him and he trusts his managers to take care of anything that is related to his image and his idol life. Shownu is basically chilling and living peacefully

Self: overall he is happy, he is content. His mental health is going well and so does his physical health. Shownu is embodying happiness

Minhyuk

Love: The complications within his relationships are still present. Minhyuk and his partner still have communication issues and they often don't understand each other due to that. there’s disagreements and arguments but yet none seem to want to abandon the relationship.

Career: He might be having some issues with one of his managers. This is mostly authority issues, probably because the manager has a strong presence and Minhyuk didn't like the fact that the manager was ordering him around.

Self: he is physically and mentally okay. Minhyuk, despite the chaos, lives a chill life and he tries not to stress on things and instead focus on progress.

Kihyun

Love: Kihyun is still dating the same person he was dating in january. It seems like their issues have died down and that things are way more calm and stable. they have both set boundaries and understanding on what they wanted the relationship to be.

Career: I believe that Kihyun is having a hard time at the moment when it comes to his career. the group is still not completed, the schedules and comebacks are a little confusing and all of his solo projects are either delayed or canceled which makes him frustrated. he feels like he's losing money

Self: he has been struggling with his mental health a lot lateçy. From what I can see, Kihyun has had some difficulties sleeping, and most nights are restless. He is also rather anxious, sometimes has sadness attached to him and he is overly stressed out.

Hyungwon

Love: His relationship is still going intact, and they are both happy and going forward. there is not much to say about it since everything seem to be doing well and the deck isn't providing any info other than that

Career: Hyungwon is equally experiencing a set back but mostly due to his finance background, i believe that his paychecks are smaller than what they used to be which makes him anxious and also become greedy with money

Self: He is going through a tough period physically. his body seems to be tired and more fragile than what it was and that's because he experienced a lot of psychosomatic symptoms. he needs to lay back a little and enjoy more instead of stressing out on everything

Jooheon

Love: Jooheon seems to have solved his inner conflicts and his mistrust with his partner. at the pent they seem to be together and doing good. i dont seen any jealousy of paranoid thoughts since they have been together lately and also working together on issues to avoid such conflicts

Career: His career is also feeling a little more fragile (perhaps due to the military situation). there isn't much to say since there isn't much happening in that area of his life

Self: Joohen is someone that is learning a lot about himself at the moment. I think going to the military really is helping him grow as a man but also as a person inside and out. He is finding new forces within himself and new goals. He is overall okay with his health as well.

Changkyun

Love: He is still in his relationship and things seem to be going okay for now. There's a lot of passion, a lot of love and desire. slough it does feel like Changkyun is searching for more and has ideals, it also feels like things are going well and that its just his emotions pouring out at the moment

Career: His career is a little blocked. Kyun had some ideas for what he wanted to do next with his music but I don't think that the company approved it since it was too much of a change from his idol image and they didn't think this would work. at the moment he is trying to figure things out and sticking to his usual image and music

Self: He is okay physically but just like Hyungwon he suffers from a lot of psychosomatic symptoms. I also think this is due to his inner conflicts and his own disagreements with his values and with things around him. his environment isn't the most healthy

♡ HAPPY CHANGKYUN DAY ♡ happy happy birthday to monsta x’s forever maknae, who despite turning 27 years old and fully being an adult, is still undoubtedly regarded by his hyungs as not-quite-grown-up yet. wishing him a lovely day and an even lovelier year as he so very much deserves!!

quick cc note: hehe here we goooo! buckle in we’re in for a long ride etc. you’re all used to this by now! changkyun is so very dear to me in such a specific way where i can’t think about him for too long or i’m at risk of crying. you know? he occupies such a particular place within the group and in my heart.

i definitely don’t claim to know what’s going on behind the scenes or pretend to exactly understand anyone’s state of mind except my own... but doesn’t changkyun seem lighter these days? i think in general changkyun loves the stage and loves music, and you can always tell that. he’s always been happy when he’s out there under the stage lights all mic’d up. but this past promotional period he has seemed so relaxed and happy and comfortable like he has been GLOWING!! that impossibly charming silliness that sometimes shows itself has been spilling out of him!!! and it makes me so so happy because he deserves that! like doesn’t it do your heart good to see him thriving!!

i have such a soft spot for him for a myriad of reasons but one of them is that it’s because i know that so much of this job kind of goes. against his instincts?? alkf;alsk. changkyun is by nature, so reserved a lot of the time and a lot of an idol’s job requires you to have your on switch flipped at all times. he himself has talked about it, how it doesn’t seem like a job suited for him and yet... it IS his job and it DOES suit him. and in a lot of ways, i think how introverted he is helps at his job, in that he is able to expend his energy when needed and ride that high, and then knows how to regroup and recover within himself. he’s talked about the come down from the rush of being on stage and how it’s a peculiar and acute loneliness, and how actually, he doesn’t mind it. that it’s something that you need to feel.

changkyun is just so thoughtful and introspective. i think he’d be such a good conversation partner. from now on when people ask that icebreaker question that’s like. which three people dead or alive would you want to have dinner with... i’m naming changkyun as one of the answers. i really admire the way that he can sit with his emotions and acknowledge them, and at the same time, the way that he’s like. fake it til you make it!!! like. so true king. me too. sometimes you just have to keep telling yourself that you’re fine and you just keep saying it and keep saying it until it’s true.

he’s a bundle of contradictions. he gives off this cool and fierce image while being so, so sweet to the bone, the group’s resident romantic. he quietly watches his groups antics from the side except for when his goofy sense of humor bursts out of him. he cares fiercely, so fiercely about what his people think of him — and nothing at all for his naysayers’ words. he’s incredibly introverted but loves standing in front of the crowd under the spotlight. :):

i think all the time about how changkyun really maintains a strong sense of self in an industry where it can be really hard, really brutal to do so. here are the things that stand out to me, especially: he is considerate of others, and endlessly patient with those he cares about. (thinking of: him sleeping in his studio for kihyun’s solo debut to make sure he didn’t disturb the sparse amount of sleep kihyun was getting. the way he always indulges hyungwon when hyungwon asks him to check his eyes.) he was raised with an appreciation for music and art and it shows so clearly in his identity as an artist. and along with that, growing up in a few different countries when he was younger gave him maybe a more international mindset than he would have had otherwise. he is honest in his music. he knows his worth and will make the decision that’s best for him, even when those decisions may not come easily.

i’m so excited for the future for him. like changkyun, i also believe that good times and bad times must both exist, and that one will naturally follow the other. but i hope that for him the good times always last longer than the bad ones, and that inner light that’s been shining from him keeps on dazzling us all.

im changkyun!!! i admire who you choose to be every day!! i’m really proud of you and the way you’ve had your cake and eaten it too, leaving the company and staying committed to the group and the members you love so much. i can’t wait for your solo ventures to come, i can’t wait for the group activities to come, i just can’t wait to see what comes next. this year i hope you stay happy, stay smiling. i hope you keep on betting on yourself, because you will never, never lose when you do. with all the love and support, always. rooting for you, cheering for you. with you every step of the way.

You call Hoseok up and ask if everyone is dressed up for the party, not wanting to be the only one in a silly costume. And he told you everyone was, but to reassure you he sent a photo of himself dressed in a comically large four-leaf clover with a green undershirt. You laugh and happily walk the rest of the way in your pink and white candy cane costume. You stay on the phone with him and ask, “Is there anyone I don’t know?” He hums, “Only one, I think? You don’t know him cause he’s been out painting murals in France? I don’t know where; you’ll have to ask him. But we’ve been friends since high school. And we talk about him all the time.” You nod, “Oh, am I finally going to meet Minhyuk? What’s he dressed up like?” He hums, “Yeah! I think a Champagne Bottle? I haven’t seen him in a while. I’ve been by the hors d'oeuvres for a while now.” You laugh, “Any good ones?” He quickly answers, “You’re gonna love the spinach feta croissant! If I don’t eat them all first!” You shake your head, “Good thing I’m approaching the door now.” He giggles, “Good thing!”

You ring the doorbell, and a red and green ornament, known as Hyunwoo, greets you. “Ah (Y/n). It’s good to see you.” You laugh, “It’s nice to see you too, Woo.” He smiles and lets you in, “How’s it looking?” “Good. Everyone managed to dress as a different holiday.” “Really?” He nods, “Yeah, I was surprised too!” You see a guy in a mask and immediately recognize, “Changkyun? Are you Guy Fox Day?” He groans, “I’m supposed to be anonymous.” You exchange a look with Hyunwoo before saying, “You’re doing a good job at it.”

You shake your head and find Hoseok eating a croissant, “(Y/n)!” You cheer, “Hoseok!” And Hyunwoo leaves you after grabbing a plate of different hors d'oeuvres, mainly tomato bruschetta. And Hoseok hands you a croissant, “How many did you eat?” “Um… many.” You chuckle before eating it yourself, and your eyes widen as you bite into it before quickly finishing it and eating another. You both finish up that plate with ease. A vampire, Kihyun, comes around and goes, “I had a feeling those would be gone first. It’s why I prepared seconds for the ‘rest’ of the guests to eat.” He emphasizes the ‘rest’ to you guys, making you both pout as you move away. His sharp canines glinting as you move away. You both mutter, “Meanie,” loud enough for him to hear, which causes him to scoff.

You both walk from it, and he goes, “When he leaves, I am stealing the plate until the pizza delivery comes.” You cackle, “Save me one.” He nods, “One.” You shake your head at him, and that’s when you spot the champagne bottle. “Is that him?” You ask softly, and he nods, “You want me to introduce you two?” You shrug, acting indifferent, even though the guy seemed quite handsome. “Minhyuk!” He looks up from his phone and smiles, “Hoseok! And who’s this?” He gestures to you, and you smile, “I’m (Y/n).” He puts his hand out to shake yours, “Minhyuk, it’s a pleasure to meet someone sweet like you.” He winks, and you laugh, “Are you just as bubbly as your costume?” You can hear Hoseok gulp as he makes his getaway. “Wouldn’t you like to find out?” You laugh, “I think we’re going to get along well.”

“I heard you were a painter?” He grins, “I paint murals.” You nod, “Is that why I haven’t met you before?” He nods, “I’ve been busy painting buildings all over Europe. But I’ve heard a lot about you from the guys.” You smile, “I’ve heard a lot about you too.” “All good things?” You think back, “I wouldn’t say that.” He cackles, “Good.”

He asks, “So, how did you meet them?” You grin, “I worked at the dinner on the corner near where Hoseok worked, and he brought Jooheon the first time they came in. And I slowly became each of their friends.” He smiles, “They’re a good bunch.” You grin happily thinking about all the times you’ve had with them, “Yeah.” You ask, “How did you meet them?” He smiles, “In art class, funnily enough. We each shared a class other than that one. And we became fast friends, but what sealed it was our shared lunch period. Which just led to major chaos.” You laugh, “Oh, I’ve heard you were the conspirator behind it all.” He grins, “Always.” You smile, and as he goes to ask you another question, you hear someone exclaim, “(Y/n)! (Y/n)!” You whip around from your conversation, “Yeah?!”

You turn to see Jooheon in a cupid outfit. You hold back your giggle, and he goes, “Pair with me, please?!” “For what?” That’s when you feel someone grab your hand and glance to see Minhyuk holding it, “She’s already taken, Joo.” He pouts, “I have no chance of winning, do I?” And you smirk, “Probably not.” He huffs before he shouts, “Hoseok! Hoseok!” You look back at Minhyuk and ask, “I’m taken?” He winks, “By me.” You can’t help but blush, and he asks, “Are you as good at games as they claim?” Your blush fades as you tell him, “I’d say so.” He smirks, “We'll make the perfect pair then.” That’s when you notice you’re still holding hands. You turn red all over again but don’t say anything or let go as you try to get a grip on reality. You just met the guy, and he’s best friends with your friends. What if he doesn’t actually like you? What if he is being super friendly, and it just sounds like he’s flirting? But then him winking after saying, ‘By me’ wouldn’t add up then.

You shake your head of those thoughts and squeeze his hand, and he leads you to the coffee table, which Kihyun is now standing on. “Alright! This year will be different because we have enough for perfect pairs.” You see everyone standing beside someone. “There will be no rule keeper or host this year. It’s cutthroat. The losing team will have to clean the whole house!” You eye Minhyuk, and his eyes glint with mischief. And you can’t help but grin. You were so winning this. “There will be five games! And the only real rule is if someone catches you and your teammate cheating more than once. You are both cleaning the house, instant elimination.” Your eyes widen, “I’ve never heard that rule before.” Minhyuk shrugs, “They won’t catch us.” You smirk, “I forgot I’m working with a pro.” He smirks, mirroring your expression, “We’ll win.” Kihyun goes over the games, “There will be Holiday Charades.” A few grumbles at that, and he continues, “Valentine’s basket toss,” “Pumpkin Stuffing,” “A true guessing game.” Hoseok and you immediately make an ‘ew’ sound, and you both laugh. “And my favorite, running the package!” You look over at Minhyuk, and he smiles, “That’ll be my favorite this year.” You tilt your head and ask, “What, why?” He smiles, “You’ll see.” You let go of his hand as you both help to arrange the living room better for the first game.

Hoseok claps his hands and goes, “Alright, charades!” “I’ll hold the poster until my team's turn, and… Candy Cane, you’ll hold it for us.” You look around for candy cane until you remember your costume, “Sounds fine, Clover.” You didn’t expect how good Hyungwon was at guessing what Changkyun was doing as he flew through them. Changkyun struggles a bit with guessing but does his best and finishes their papers. As Hyungwon high-fives Changkyun. He cheers, “Flower power!” You can hear Kihyun mutter, “Earth day kids…” Kihyun gets up, and Hyunwoo does pretty well, getting all but one. Kihyun does his best to guess what Hyunwoo is describing, so it takes him some time, but in the end, he gets them all with seconds to spare. You hold the sign and flip as fast as possible for Hoseok and Jooheon. But they weren’t going fast enough even though they were trying hard. They got all but two down before the timer ran out.

As you get up and see Hoseok’s sign, and make a tree, Minhyuk shouts, “Christmas tree!” Hoseok flips the page, and you do your best to make a pumpkin with your hands by making two different motions, and he goes, “Apple! No! Pumpkin! Halloween!” Surprising you with how good he was at charades, but you continue and complete it in no time. When he gets up, you nearly blank out. Even with a champagne costume on, he looks pretty. But you focus on the task and do your best to guess the different holidays by the odd shapes he makes. He points at Hoseok, and you laugh as you shout, “St. Patrick’s Day!” He grins, “Yeah, that’s right, baby!” You blush as he calls you that but continue guessing the different shapes he makes. Kihyun scolds, “No talking!” You shrug yet smile up at Minhyuk as he makes the last motion of a candy cane, “Candy Cane! Me! Christmas!” He high-fives you. While you guys weren’t as fast as Earth Day and Guy Fox, you still did your best as fast as you could. They won by five seconds, and you took it in stride. There are four more games left, anyway.

The pizza comes, and you all stop to have some before heading outside to start the next game. You do your best at Valentine’s toss, which is throwing red balls into deep pink bowls. You do your best to throw it into the bowl, but you’re not that good. You quickly find out. “We can’t be good in every game.” He pats your shoulder, and you pout as you shoot it in again. And it makes it in, he gasps, “Hell yeah!” He high-fives you, and you grin, and he makes a perfect shot. As you miss again, you ask, “Can we blame it on the size of the bowls?” He laughs, “Yeah, I can for you.” You grin, do your best, and make four out of ten. And that was good enough for you. Minhyuk only misses two, but you end up in last place, while Hoseok and Jooheon end up in first. You bow your head and feel him ruffle your hair, “Don’t worry about it. We’ll get them in the next games.” You look up at him, “Promise?” And he holds out his pinky, “Promise.”

You head back into the house, and Changkyun carries the guessing game out, “My mom made these. I didn't look, and she didn’t label them. So, I don't know which is which until I open this envelope. But she did say they are all food.” He lays them out on the kitchen island, and everyone takes a piece of paper. “Who’s brave enough to do it first?” You shrug, it's just food, “Nothing living, right?” He shrugs, “I hope not.” You sigh, part with your nerves, and act bravely, writing them down as you think of them. With seven foods to try, the only one that stumped you was the pasta and what shape it was. You nearly screamed as you reached your hand into the last one. You quickly took it out, “Oh gross.” You gulp as you put it back in to ensure you were right.

And write, “soft-boiled eggs”, you return to Minhyuk, and Hyungwon asks, “One teammate, or can we both go and discuss?” You all agree to the latter, and Hyungwon easily tackles it even if he yells at everything he touches. You show him your answers, and he nods, and you point to the third, “I’m not positive about this one.” “Okay, I’ll figure it out.” After Hyunwoo goes, you spot Minhyuk looking squeamish about it and put your hand on his shoulder, “I promise it’ll be okay. It’s just food.” He nods and braves it, making faces the whole time, and you can’t help but giggle.

Jooheon goes, “Alright, everyone, put your names on the paper, and then Kyun can read the answers.” Changkyun goes, “Broccoli, Cucumber, Linguine, Asparagus, Soft-boiled eggs, Watermelon, and Strawberries.” He opens each bowl, “And the order should be…” He looks at everyone’s cards after writing the correct order down, “Hyunwoo and Kihyun won!” You pout, and Minhyuk goes, “We only missed it by one.” You nod, having guessed fettuccine instead of linguine. Hyungwon sighs, “I truly thought that was spaghetti.” Changkyun shrugs, “I didn’t even know my mom bought linguine.” And Hoseok goes, “That’s what those stalks are called?!” “We were at a loss for it.”

Back in the living room, there are four pumpkin buckets. Jooheon announces, “Pumpkin game!” Kihyun goes, “Oh, and a little reminder! No food unless it’s packaged.” Minhyuk smirks, “I knew we’d be playing this game.” As everyone is running around finding things, he calmly leads you to an end table drawer. He tells you, “Paper clips and mini buttons.” Your smirk grows wide, “They said nothing about ‘em.” He nods, “Precisely.” You look over at the bucket and go, “We’re going to need something to dampen the sound.” You rush to the kitchen, grabbing two paper towels, before meeting him at the table. You put the towels in, and he starts dumping them in, which sounds like nothing compared to the chaos ensuing around the two of you. You hear Changkyun shout, “I swear I saw pipe cleaners here last year!” And another shouted, “I already grabbed them!” He stays by the bucket, guarding it, “On the bottom shelf under the sink, he has sos pads.” You nod, squeezing between Hoseok and Hyunwoo to get to the sink. You slide and grab the unopened box.

You rush back and squeeze them around the sides. “They hurt a little.” He agrees as he puts the last one in, and you say, “I bought him a few packs of the jack games as a joke last year. And I know he didn’t use it cause I spotted them,” you whisper, “Middle cabinet, top shelf, hard to miss, very colorful.” He nods, and you giggle as you watch him put his hands up to avoid getting hit by pens thrown to Jooheon. You scrunch your nose, upset that you didn’t think of pens. But you let it slide when he pulls out not only the jacks and bouncy balls but also two boxes of packets of tea that Kihyun clearly didn’t like to drink. He comes over, and you open the boxes while he stuffs the bouncy balls and jacks into the bucket. He gasps, “I got another idea.” He runs off before he can say anything. You quickly dump the tea bags inside and finish fitting the other things in.

“One minute left!” That’s when Minhyuk returns with a packet of cards, and you smirk as you both rush to line the cards along the side. You place the fifty-second card on top of the bucket as Hyungwon counts down, “Five… Four, Three, Two, One!” You both look at your competitions, seeing that they all have a menagerie of stuff coming out. “Alright! Everyone dump your buckets and count!” Hoseok proudly exclaims first, “Two hundred and fifty!” And you both keep calming counting: fifty sos pads, fifty-two cards, forty jacks, twenty tea bags, and four bouncy balls. Hyungwon exclaims happily, “Three hundred and fifteen!” Changkyun and him high-five. That’s not where the numbers were going to come from anyway.

It took forever to count all the buttons and paper clips, even organizing them into groups of ten. There were so many. You’re nearly out of buttons when Kihyun goes, “Five hundred and fourteen.” You gasp as you count the last few, and the rest watch as you do. Minhyuk whispers, “six, seven, eight.” You grin as he smirks at you, three hundred buttons and a hundred and fifty paper clips later. And two paper towels, you total to “Six hundred and eighteen!” Minhyuk shouts happily. And Kihyun gasps, “You planted those two items in my house!” Minhyuk shakes his head, “No, it was in your house before the party.” Kihyun gasps, “No! I would have remembered buying that.” Minhyuk goes, “I gave them to you when you were in college, but like the jacks and bouncy balls, you hid ‘em away.” You cross your arms over your chest and nod, even though you know he is lying through his teeth. As he told you, he put them there the last time he visited Kihyun.

You see the gears turning in Kihyun’s head, but he lets it go, letting you guys have one round of winning. Minhyuk already had a plan before you got outside, “Do you trust me?” You nod, and he goes, “I’m going to sling you over my shoulder just before the race. Are you okay with that?” You look him in the eyes, asking, “Is it the easiest?” He holds your eye contact and says, “I run fast, but the safest decision, considering our costumes, is to do it this way. You’re going to have to hold on tight, okay?” You smile, “Okay. I trust you.” He nods, “Now all you’ll have to do is to reach over and grab a present from the bucket out there, okay?” You look back, “We’re running to that?” He nods, “I’ll have both my hands free then, huh?” He agrees, and you smirk, “Oh, we have this in the bag.”

Hyungwon comes over, “Okay, I chose a short one-minute song. When it finishes, it’s go-time.” You all nod, and Minhyuk and you start internally counting. You watch Kihyun hop onto Hyunwoo’s back first. Jooheon wraps his arms around Hoseok’s neck, and Hoseok catches him in his arms. At forty-five, Changkyun grabs Hyungwon around the middle, and Hyungwon wraps himself around him as you whisper out fifty. Minhyuk goes, “Ready?” You nod, and right after you’re situated, holding onto the bottle's label with Minhyuk’s arm wrapped around your legs.

The song ends, and he starts sprinting. You gasp, not expecting his speed. He wasn’t kidding, and you all reached the bucket simultaneously. You let go of the label, having faith in Minhyuk, and grab a present. You put it against his back and feel him hold you tighter as he runs to the tape line. Looking back, you catch Hyungwon swatting at Kihyun to grab the present first. However, you see the steam engine speed once Jooheon has the present in between his chest and Hoseok’s leaf costume. You gasp, “Don’t look back, but we got company.” You nearly scream as you feel him throw you up a bit to readjust your position to run faster. He rasps, “Almost there!” When you hear Jooheon exclaim, “Throw me!” You gasp, “Please don’t throw me!” Minhyuk whispers, out of breath, “I wouldn’t dream of it.” And just as Jooheon is thrown to the tape. You cross the finish line just a hair faster than him.

As Hoseok collapses onto the ground near Jooheon, Minhyuk sets you down, “You, okay?” You nod, “I’m good.” He grins, “We won.” You mirror him, “We did!” You throw your present down, and as you happily jump up and down together, Hyunwoo’s and Changkyun’s team cross the line. Hyungwon groans and points his finger at Kihyun, “You fucker, we were going to win!” Kihyun gasps as he hops down from Hyunwoo, pointing at him, “Me!? What about you!” You whisper, “You know when you point fingers, three points back at you.” He snickers, “Sore losers.”

They continue, and Hoseok and Jooheon get up and wipe their jeans off before coming over, and they say in unison, “Good game?” You both nod, “Good game.” As the two losing teams duke it out over a game of cards, the four of you move into the hallway. “So, who’s going to tell them that the vampire and the ornament are the real losers?” They all shake their heads, and you look back at them, “Nah, let’s not ruin their fun.” You four tell them to have fun and not to kill each other. “Only if Hyungwon doesn’t tempt me any further.” You raise your eyebrows and gulp, “Yikes. Have fun with that! Don’t end up on the news!” Jooheon goes, “Want to ride with me, Hoseok?” Hoseok agrees quickly, and Minhyuk asks, “Do you have enough time to go out with me tonight?” You look at the clock to see it’s well past 2 am. “Where to?” He smiles, “To the park?” You nod, “I’d love to.”

He walks you there, “So what’s your favorite color?” You shake your head, “(F/c), you?” He smiles, “Red.” You ask, “What do you think of pets?” “I’m more of a dog person, but cats are nice too.” You smile, “Good.” He goes, “What’s your favorite genre?” You smile and tell him, and he says, “I like a lot, but ballads are my favorite to sing to.” “You sing?” He nods, “It’s not as strong as my painting, but I love doing it.” And he goes, “What about you?” You shrug, “Sometimes.”

You sit on the bench and ask, “Why did you like that game the best this year?” He smiles, “I got to hold you.” You blush and look down, “It was fun. I enjoyed you carrying me and winning.” You hum, thinking of the perfect question to ask him. When he says, “What if I told you I wanted to kiss you?” You look at him and signal to your candy cane costume, “In this?” He gestures to his champagne costume, “It wouldn’t be perfect, but it’d be our own.” You whisper as you lean closer, “You like to be unique, huh?” He grins, “Always.” And you whisper, “Kiss me.” And he does.

He walks you to your apartment, and you tell him, “What do you say to Mary’s at seven tomorrow night?” He grins, “I’ll be there.” He leaves you with one last kiss, and you couldn’t have had a better night dressed as a candy cane.

original rizz analysis

shownu: positive and high magnitude though not quite infinity. kinda similar to yunho? in that they are both large and soft and have insane charisma but iirc shownu has a thinly veiled thing for being dominated (or is he the one dominating icr) that parallels yunho's thinly veiled thing for feet. hence the similarities and hence the not-positive-infinity level rizz

wonho: fluctuates between +5 and -5. I did say he's very similar to changbin. buff boys. stronk. much strength. except they're also very sweet losers hence the dipping into the negatives. I gave him slightly lower magnitudes than changbin, I don't know why this is the instinct but I mean at least his negative rizz is lower magnitude than changbin's so there's that

minhyuk: low. very negative. EXTREMELY negative. iirc he's very much the puppy type and he reminds me a little too much of hyunjae. he's very aware of the fact that he has next to zero rizz and he WILL use that against you so watch out for the puppy eyes. it doesn't matter in the end though you'll fall victim to them anyway

kihyun: -15. I feel like I've been influenced by this one twt account that I follow bc they love kihyun and are also obsessed with pathetic men so by extension kihyun is pathetic and is down in the negatives. not super high magnitude at least which he should honestly thank me and his hyeya performance for. I was going to give him -1 but then I realized he'd be dangerously close to rizz neutral and that is not happening this man is not neutral on ANYTHING

Kihyun gives me massive sugar daddy vibes, like I saw the vlive on jooheon's b'day where he gave the man giant ass flowers & I was like 'that man is a sugar daddy in the making right there'.

Pairing: Monsta X Hyungwon x reader (any pronouns) Summary: Your friend Hyungwon throws you a birthday party, and you still can’t make your crush on him go away. “I thought you didn’t even want a birthday party?”

“You’re right,” you nodded slowly, “but that was before it was a million degrees outside for almost two weeks and we couldn’t do anything with anyone! It’s not really a birthday party, anyway, it’s more of a celebration of… mild weather.”

Naeun raised her brow at you over her cocktail and snickered. “A celebration of mild weather? Who came up with that?”

“I don’t remember.” You took a sip from your glass and looked away from her.

“It was Hyungwon.”

“When are you going to tell him you like him?” Naeun asked. It wasn’t the first time she'd asked this question.

“Shh! Someone could hear you!” You panicked and glanced around the bar.

“Why not? Maybe they’ll tell him and we can all get past this ‘will they/won’t they’ phase.”

“There’s no will they/won’t they. He likes me as a friend. I’m ok with that.”

Naeun put her drink down and held one finger up. “First of all, you’re not ok with it.” She held up a second finger. “Second of all, he likes you way more than a friend. Boys don’t spend time with people or talk to them or talk about them as much as he does with you.”

“He talks about me?”

“Don’t change the subject. Of course he does.”

“Maybe he does. I don’t know. I don’t want to ruin it. I would rather have a crush than be crushed by his rejection. Just let me have this.”

“I want you to be happy! I wish you would let me ask him for you.” You opened your mouth to speak and she cut you off. “But for the sake of our friendship and my unending love for you I will not do that.”

You sighed. This wasn’t going to be the last time Naeun urged you to ask Hyungwon out on a date. You really, really liked him and all your friends knew. After you began developing feelings for him and started spending more time with him, you felt like you would rather protect your heart if it meant keeping the friendship. And if he liked you too he could always say something himself, right?

“Are you going to come to the party?” you asked Naeun.

“Of course. I need to celebrate mild weather desperately. And you. I need to celebrate you.” She lifted her drink toward you and you clinked your glass against hers.

“Thank you. Hyungwon rented an apartment near yours for the party. Can we get ready together?”

“I thought you would never ask!”

Hyungwon bent down to stack a case of beer on top of the others in the kitchen. “That was the last one, right?” he asked Jooheon.

“Yes. That was also my workout for the day. I told the trainer we were working out together today.”

Hyungwon laughed. “I will verify that lie if he asks me tomorrow.”

“I can’t believe you committed to a session tomorrow. I’m pretty sure this birthday party is not going to be the mild celebration you were planning.”

“I wasn’t planning a mild celebration… It’s a celebration of mild weather. And YN didn’t want to make it all about themselves, but we both knew everyone was craving a party after the heatwave.”

“When are you going to tell YN that you like them?”

“When the moment is right.” Hyungwon opened the freezer and busied himself with rearranging the bags of ice stacked inside.

“There’s never a right moment. You have to make the moment right!”

“There will be a right moment.” Hyungwon turned back toward Jooheon and leaned back against the counter. This was at least the thirtieth time they’d had this conversation. Maybe the thirty-first.

“I think you should tell them soon. I don’t want you missing out on happiness.”

“That’s very sweet of you to say, jagiya.” He clapped Jooheon on the shoulder and headed out of the kitchen. “Let’s drop by my place, I want to change before we meet everyone here. I sent the door keypad code to a few people so they can start without us.”

“Do I have something in my eye?” You turned toward Naeun as you rode the elevator up to the apartment Hyungwon had rented for the party.

She peered closely at your eyeballs. “No real lashes, no false lashes. You’re good.”

“Thanks.”

You were a little nervous, and you didn’t know why. The two of you purposely arrived late so the party would be well on its way when you arrived. Everyone would be enjoying themselves already, and that was the exact memory you wanted to make on your birthday: seeing your friends happy to be around each other.

“Are you excited?” Naeun asked carefully.

“Yes!” Naeun raised one brow at you. She knew you a little too well. “Can you tell me why I’m kind of nervous? It’s just a party!”

“It’s not just a party. Hyungwon threw this party for you. Don’t interrupt. He threw this party for you because he wants to make you happy. Please let yourself be happy and tell him how you feel. Consider it your birthday gift to yourself.”

“I… I’ll think about it.”

Naeun stared at you in shock. “Oh my gosh. This is the most progress we have ever made. I've never heard you say that. Do you mean it?”

“Yes. I promise I’ll think about it tonight. Maybe this is the right moment.”

“I have never been more excited to celebrate mild weather!” she exclaimed as the elevator doors opened.

You laughed and felt a little more at ease. You weren’t sure how that promise slipped out, but it felt like the truth.

The front door opened again. Hyungwon peeked over Kihyun’s shoulder to see who it was. He didn’t know when you were planning to arrive at the party. He hadn’t heard from you since this afternoon when he reminded you to eat beforehand. You had responded with the eye roll emoji. Typical.

“Is it YN?” Kihyun asked with a knowing smile.

“No it isn’t!” Jooheon replied. “It’s my friend!” He pushed through the crowd, a huge grin stretched across his face. He pulled them by the elbow and released them in front of the boys amidst a wave of their giggles. They were obviously used to how Jooheon was after a few drinks. “This is Kihyun!” And he promptly grabbed Hyungwon by the wrist and dragged him towards the kitchen.

Hyungwon tugged his wrist out of Jooheon’s hand and looked back at Kihyun and the woman shaking his hand. “What are you doing? I didn’t even say hello.”

“I needed to get you away from the door. When YN gets here they'll find you. Grab another beer. It’s a party!”

“It’s a party for YN. It’s not weird that I’m waiting for them to arrive.”

“Naeun told me they’re almost here.”

“What? How do you know?”

“She texted me for the door code a few minutes ago.”

Hyungwon looked toward the entryway, even though he couldn’t see the front door anymore. Jooheon’s prediction had been right: their friends had gleefully filled the apartment before they had arrived. Everyone was desperate to let loose after weeks of hiding in air conditioned rooms.

“What kind of beer do you want?” Jooheon asked, opening the fridge and blocking Hyungwon’s view of the kitchen doorway.

“Whatever you see first.”

Jooheon handed him a cold can of beer and closed the door. And there you were.

“Hi,” you said to Hyungwon with a small smile. You felt those familiar butterflies in your stomach.

“Happy birthday!” He wrapped his long arms around you, squeezing tight. You closed your eyes and savored it as you squeezed him back.

“Thank you! And thank you for this party?” You couldn't help turning that into a question. This definitely wasn’t the type of get together either of you would have hosted on your own.

He laughed. “The party has taken on a life of its own.” He looked down at his beer as if surprised it was in his hand. Then he looked back at you, gazing deep into your eyes. “I know you just got here, but do you want to get out of here? We can get some air.”

You didn’t have to think about your response for even one millisecond. “Let’s go.”

“Did you have a chance to check out the view upstairs?” Hyungwon asked, glancing over at you.

“No,” you replied honestly. “I was trying to find you.”

“Ah.”

You walked in comfortable silence for a few minutes, two of the many people enjoying the quiet warm evening. He said he was taking you somewhere nearby and you were happy to spend time with him. The party was wonderful, but given a choice between dozens of loud revelers and this one man… you would choose him every time.

Hyungwon tapped your arm to get your attention and bobbed his head to indicate he was going to turn right at the next block. You nodded and ran your eyes down his body. Maybe you couldn’t touch but at least you could look.

When you reached the intersection and turned right, you gasped. The beach was right there. A couple walked past you with a fluffy white dog as you slowed to take in the view. “Enjoy your evening,” one of them said. Hyungwon smiled and thanked them.

“Is this the view from the apartment?” you asked. You had fully stopped at this point.

Hyungwon’s smile grew bigger, his cheeks puffing up the way you loved. “Yes. I knew you would love it. Come on. Let’s walk along the beach.” He put a hand out toward you. You looked down at it in surprise. He had never held your hand. Those butterflies came back when you reached out and he grasped your hand firmly.

You must have just missed the sunset, because the sky near the water was painted in pinks and purples but there was a swath of dark blue creeping above you. You took in everything around you as you walked hand-in-hand along the small sidewalk at the edge of the sandy beach. You wanted to lock this memory tight in your heart.

A few more strangers greeted you with a smile as they walked in the opposite direction. Everyone seemed calm and content. Oddly, you expected that you seemed calm and content too. Everything about this moment felt right. A perfect moment on a perfect day with a perfect guy.

Hyungwon squeezed your hand. “Let’s go sit over there,” he suggested, and you spotted the bench up ahead. You agreed and let him lead you toward it. When you both sat down he pulled your joined hands to rest on his thigh and gazed out over the water.

“Thank you,” you said. “I don’t think I said that already. This is perfect. The party is perfect. Everything is perfect.”

“Perfect,” he repeated, giving you a small smile. You loved his smile, and you especially loved when he aimed it at you. You could feel Cupid’s arrow hit you in the chest every time.

You both turned back to watch the waves softly touching the edge of the beach. Your palm felt comfortably warm against his hand. After a few moments, Hyungwon spoke and you looked up at him.

“I wanted to ask you something. I don’t want you to feel pressured to answer. But I think… I think you might feel the same way.”

You were frozen in place and your heart started racing. His huge watery eyes were focused entirely on you. Were you still breathing?

“I really like you. Really, really like you, as more than a friend. I want to take you out. On a date. Is that ok? Is that something you might want to do?”

You didn’t know what to say first and instead it all spilled out in a jumbled mess of words. “Yes. Yes, I feel the same way. Yes, I really like you too. Yes, I want to go out with you. How did you know?”

Hyungwon chuckled. “Jooheon says everyone knows. About both of us. But what does he know?”

You were puzzled. “Really? I thought I was… not really showing it… And I never would have guessed you…”

“I don’t know,” he shrugged. “I guess I just felt it. Being with you feels perfect.” The corners of his lips quirked upward and you laughed a little.

“Perfect,” you repeated, squeezing his hand and smiling hard. “Is it possible for this day to get more perfect?”

“I think so,” Hyungwon responded, taking his hand out of yours. He rested his palm against the side of your neck, gazing into your eyes as his fingertips tucked into your hair. His thumb was gently placed on your jaw. Your heart was going to fly out of your chest.

He leaned down to kiss you. It was a perfect kiss.

You and Minho didn’t became immediately best friends it was a really progressive thing, at first when becoming close to Stray Kids to you Minho was just one of the fun hyungs and shared sometimes a good laugh with but nothing else, you knew tho he was quite close to Seonghwa. One time Minho asked Seonghwa backstage when he was free to hang out and as you were just near, spontaneously he invited you too knowing that both of you weren’t close enough and had no intention to hang out it was only a polite formality but Seonghwa answered naively as you were about to kindly refuse “Eden isn’t it the day we both free?” He said “No,no you are probably wrong hyung i have things this d-“ you answered but he insisted “No but I remember you said you would do nothing on that day you even complained about it!” To which Minho said “He must be busy you shouldn’t force him-“ and Seonghwa concluded “He’s just shy he will come he can’t reject his hyungs like this anyway what a punk trying to escape it lying aren’t you?”. You two together become the gossip duo literally, if something happens in your life and you need immediate physical advices and mental support you call Minho at 4am and be sure he will be there in less than an hour. As Minho has more friends than it seems sometimes Eden is quite afraid to be too clingy and make him escape as for him spending all his free time with Minho isn’t an issue as he never gets bored of him, even in skinship he feels like doing too much will make it seem like Minho is his only friend. Your schedule don’t often coincide and as Sunoo is a rookie you don’t have much free time but the litlle he has he gives priority to you and you text each other often maybe the most with the fact you can’t meet him like your other friends, with time tho it’s easier to meet.

Jaemin after starting to hang out with Eden will start to change a little and be less conventional and more confident and even tho some members will tell him Eden is a bad influence for him he just doesn’t care and without realizing it he will start wanting to be more to Eden really quickly Eden will understand what he means by that but prefers to take his time as Jaemin remembers him of Soobin and he wanna be sure to be over Soobin before starting anything else. Jaemin is okay with that and will wait patiently not listening to the ones telling he’s being played. The way Eden confess he’s so cute he literally invites Jaemin to the studio and sings a ballad he wrote for him with the guitar that is quite clear about what he feels and after saying he will never do something that cringe again literally Jaemin jumped into his arms.

Relation:

To Eden, his relation with Jaemin is what he always needed (and missed while he was with Soobin) he doesn’t think of Jaemin need for independence threatening to the relationship because the rest of the time this one is really demonstrative. When arguments occur they don’t try to search for who’s wrong and who’s right they rather accept the fact they can have different opinions and don’t let that ruin the good moments they pass together. Eden literally never bored with Jaemin that always succeeds to surprise him even in activity that Eden wouldn’t usually go for. X2) and like Jaemin is even worst on that cause he will play it and if Eden isn’t jealous of him doing skinship with members ect he literally get upset he didn’t noticed (ㅠㅠ? x3) and honestly Eden does notice it but he knows what’s Jaemin goal and prefer just ignoring it ( bro we all know your jeno’s hetero stop the act ). At the end of the day it’s still a lot of sweetness and Eden forgive everything for Jaemin 💕 bonus: You didn’t really became close to NCT since you two preferred to hang around out of the dorm you only know some members close to him like Jeno but not a lot since the relationship still fresh.

How you met:

You met Liz in the most basic way (yeah too) at work, after a special solo stage on a music big program they filmed reactions backstage and yours became viral we could see on your face how you were amazed and comments flowed like “I want my man to watch me like Eden watch Liz” or “He should try to hide it at least ㅋㅋㅋ“ IVE already debuted since some years and you could see they weren’t rookies anymore, they re passed images on the big screen behind Liz and you and Ateez went on stage just after you were shy after that and try to not see her until the end of the show but in backstage that caught you off guard how she came to you and just bowed giggling you smiled quietly trying to act cool and after a small talk said bye. After that episode her solo stage went viral as well as your reaction and people did challenge when one danced and the other was like “wouaw” then the same but reverse on the sound/beat, you and Liz met backstage some weeks afters when this blew up and decided it would be fun to do it to which it blew up again! As an excuse to send the drafts Liz tried to ex number but not taking the hint you told your manager would settle this by email luckily Liz manager that isn’t dumb told you two were “adults” and could do that alone (LIKE TAKE THE HINT) after that Liz texted you and you two started becoming close.

Like you trigger each other sometimes without realizing it and tend to overstep boundaries in argues but never to hurt the other one but love should come every when the intention is noble (right ?:’u). Why: Nothing between you two personally, fans created it after a stage were you performed together Blood // Water by Grandson you two known for your eccentric style while on the style Yeonjun won by his earrings and crop top combo you were amazing with your electric guitar and none was out dancing the other, Moa and Atiny created some sort of fanwar for the title of “it boy” when an interview came out were people knew that the idea of taking the guitar came you during rehearsal the same day you had to come on stage people praised you again and Moa were mad they dragged you about the fact you wore a skirt and had your hair long the club scandal was recent and even Atiny thoughts it wasn’t clever from you in the end in a V-Live Yeonjun talked of how he liked to perform with his friend (you) to remind people of your friendship and to stop it already, he saw a lot of tweets and honestly was angry at his fandom, he didn’t really impacted you friendship tho,maybe a lil more on your side.

Your relationship: First of all Yeonjun and you are close and as he was born 1 day later than you you created the tradition to celebrate together your birthday you would spend the 12th of September together all day then at midnight it was Yeonjun turn, and even did birthday v-live together. The issues came after your breakup with Soobin, that just summed up with the other problem that got constantly in your friendship way, Yeonjun best friend is Wooyoung and as you can guess he got no problem talking shit bout you if it was San it would have been different since you close but Wooyoung is really Yeonjun best friend but at least Wooyoung wouldn’t do that in front of Changbin that would obviously defend you and tell you about this (he did infact lmao) but at that time it was only Wooyoung against Changbin word and he honestly didn’t cared bout your problems with San since you two were closer. After your breakup with Soobin let’s say your relationship with TXT changed a bit and Yeonjun way of seeing you too. A little like Miyeon and Soyeon like even if you are in “polite/friendly” terms with Soobin you know he probably got no problem to tell Yeonjun bad things about you.

Group you are friend with:

Stray Kids: You made friend with Hyunjin trough Jongho and Changbin through Wooyoung that made you meet Felix aussie like you that also made you meet Bangchan (that then was the one to introduce you to Xdinary Heroes). Probably one of the group you the closest too as you are close to a lot of the members.

What do Stray Kids thinks of Eden and Eden of them: They admire him a lot and when he comes to the dorm they are all overly compliments him even tho sometimes Eden feels it’s exaggerated. Remember about the family feeling with Ateez? Sometimes he finds it as well in Stray kids dorm and he feels a real friendship bond there he also thinks Stray Kids are fun and that there’s no awkward feeling with anyone of the members. Often when Eden goes back to his dorm Stray Kids is like “You should debut as our new member so you wouldn’t have to leave” and it make Eden thinks even tho Ateez is big how would have been things if he debuted in a bigger group under a biggest agency or if they won Kingdom instead where would they be now? At Stray Kids place maybe and he could be the one saying that.

TXT: Ok so TXT is a group you are close to..so close that you and other members have beefs regularly..basically you really close to all of them and have been for a long time only that you argue a lot and it’s often a Yeonjun,Wooyoung vs Changbin Eden but of course you go trough those things as adult. You sometimes hang with Hyunjin,Jeongin and Beomgyu altogether too but you less close to that group.

Xdinary Heroes: As soon as your Stray Kids friends knew you where a fan of their younger group they told them about it and when you were in the backstage of a music show with Ateez they ran to you bowing and introducing themselves, saying they were equally fans. You didn’t had the chance to get close to one of them in particular but with time everyone dropped the formalities.

Enhypen: Danielle wanted to present you to Jake but before she had time to do so one time that you were hanging around with TXT you met the full group you got along with all of them and in particular Sunoo (who became your actual best friend even trough the age gap)

Newjeans: You got to know Hanni at a Gucci event and she introduced you to Danielle who had aussie descents like you after that you met the other members too and did TikTok challenges with them.

IVE: You met them in the backstage of a music festival for the first time and congratulated them on their latest release after that you got close to Liz,Yujin and Rei. (You were already close to Liz tho)

G-Idle: You were a big fan of Soyeon work and after you met her and became close often coming “secretly” to the dorm, you naturally grew close to each one of the members and surprisingly you consider all of them close friend they as well are the girl group you closer to.

Eden scandals:

Two timers: Fake you didn’t even knew that girl personally and honestly it seemed absurd to you. Company just made a denying statement and you didn’t participated to Inception promotions for a week as at that time they were a lot of scandals going on and idols leaving their groups.

Han Sohee dating rumours: Fake You met her for the first time at the Balenciaga event in Italy she was really anxious and was impressed by how calm and self-confident you seemed to be (even if you were actually stressing like her) photographers asked you two to pose together and after that she attempted a small talk you two ended by exchanging numbers but after the rumors blew up none of you dared text the other one as it was quite awkward. The scandal had a positive effect and gave you popularity.

Club scandal: True You went clubbing with Holland (Soloist) and Jun (a.c.e.) in a club that has a reputation of being frequented by LGBT and as during the promotions of your BL you said it wasn’t a problem for you to kiss a boy people started making assumptions about your sexuality especially k-nets you made an apology letter for “clubbing” and didn’t participated in entertainment programs and music show for the following week. The scandal had an important negative effect on your Korean popularity but made international fans like you more.

Shownu:

Your head shook as Hyunwoo appeared behind you, managing to grab onto you and pull you across as he noticed your bad mood continuing.

His hug from behind was tight as he made sure that you couldn’t go anywhere. “What’s going on? Are you alright?” He asked, resting his head on yours.

“I’m fine,” you bluntly replied, “there’s no need to worry about me.”

“You don’t sound alright though.”

A sigh came from you in response to just how well Hyunwoo knew you. “I’ve just struggled a bit with work, sleep, it’s just been a lot.”

“Why didn’t you tell me that?” Hyunwoo frowned, peering around to look at you, “I could help you out Y/N.”

Your head shook in reply, “I hate relying on others, I’ll be alright. I guess I just need a good sleep in me to try and give me some energy and get back on my feet again.”

“I agree, but I’m going to help you too.”

Minhyuk:

Your breath hitched as you felt a pair of hands suddenly arrive in your waist with Minhyuk tickling into you as he took a few steps closer towards you.

Your laughter was like magic for him, unable to stop himself sniggering. “What’s wrong?” He teased as you pleaded with Minhyuk to get off of you.

“I can’t breathe,” you roared, “stop tickling me Min.”

“Sorry, I just can’t help it.”

Once he stopped tickling, he pushed his arms through to hug you from behind. “You’re an idiot,” you sighed, driving your elbow back into his chest.

“I’m your idiot though,” Minhyuk smirked, knowing that as much as you messed with him, you loved how annoying he was deep down.

Your eyes rolled as Minhyuk squeezed around your frame tightly, “you’re lucky that you can be cute otherwise I’d have ended up kicking you out a long time ago.”

“I know, I’m just so irresistible.”

Kihyun:

A gasp came from you as Kihyun suddenly grabbed you from behind, beginning to sidestep around the living room with his chin resting against you.

Your smile was wide as he led you around the living room. “Dance with me,” he whispered into your ear, pressing several kisses against the crook of your neck.

“Ki,” you chuckled, “where has all this suddenly come from?”

“I’ve just missed you a lot.”

Your brows knitted together as Kihyun continued to sway you side to side. “You’ve seen me every day, how could you have missed me?”

“I’ve been so busy with work, I’ve seen you, but that’s it,” he explained, “I just want to do something with you again.”

Your smile widened as you began to understand exactly what Kihyun meant by what he said. “Maybe you should take some time off, then we’d have plenty of time together.”

“I think that’s a great idea for me to do.”

Hyungwon:

You tensed up as soon as you felt Hyungwon suddenly appearing behind you, keeping your eyes staring forwards to try and block him out.

His grip was strong though, trying his best to keep your attention. “I don’t want to fight anymore,” Hyungwon whispered into your eat after a few moments.”

“Me too,” you sighed, “but I’m still mad at you just so you know.”

“I know, and I’m really sorry.”

Your head nodded as Hyungwon peered past your shoulder to meet your eyes. “Just giving me a hug isn’t going to make this up to me.”

“I had a feeling that you’d say that,” Hyungwon laughed, “which is why whilst you’ve been up here, I’ve been downstairs cooking.”

You looked back in surprise, impressed as Hyungwon nodded back at you. “You must really know that you messed up to decide that you want to cook for me tonight.”

“That’s just how sorry I am about earlier.”

Jooheon:

Your smile was wide as you looked across to Jooheon, holding up your certificate for him to see as soon as you walked through the front door.

He rushed up from the sofa, picking you up form behind and twirling you around. “I always knew that you’d do it,” he proudly told you, placing you down.

“I passed,” you chuckled, “I didn’t think that I’d end up passing so easily.”

“I always knew that you’d do it.”

Your eyes glanced back to Jooheon and the proud smile that was on his face. “Thank you, I couldn’t have done this without you Joo.”

“That’s nonsense,” he quickly corrected, “you might not have trusted in yourself, but I had every faith in you to do this.”

You smiled appreciatively back to Jooheon, keeping your certificate held tightly in your hand. “I can’t believe I’ve done it, no more revising, and no more getting stressed either.”

“I, for one, am very glad about that part.”

I.M:

You were taken aback by a sudden figure resting against your shoulder, with Changkyun peering around as he came up to hug you from behind.

You could only chuckle at the smile that was on his face. “Hi,” he laughed, noticing the soft smile that was on your face as you looked back at him too.

“What are you up to?” You asked, “or more to the point, what have you done?”

“Am I not allowed to just cuddle you?”

Your eyes looked suspiciously back at Changkyun, “I would say yes, but usually when you do things like these its because there’s mischief involved.”

“You always think the worst of me,” Changkyun laughed, “I’m just cuddling you, there’s nothing more to it, don’t worry.”

Your head nodded, although you were still wary of Changkyun. “I’m watching you, I bet if you’ve not done something yet, you’re going to end up doing something soon instead.”

“I really am just hugging you, I’m innocent.”

Shownu

Love: He seems to be a little bit off, his energy is low, a little bit sad. I see that due to his current situation, he doesn’t see his partner a lot and that is disturbing their relationship. It’s been a month and half that they go through argument when they talk because the distance makes things complicated.

Career: When it comes to his career, Shownu is stable, despite away he keeps receiving his paycheck, his manager is behind him and still supporting his needs and getting things ready for him once he comes out of military.

Health:

Physical: Needs to be careful with his eyes, also he needs to drink more water, like most idols I feel kidney issues, high insulin levels and liver low health

Mental: His energy is chaotic as I said, he runs away a lot from his problems inside his mind

Minhyuk

Love: His situation is kinda complicated to read, because after his broke up he started relationing himself with a woman that was kinda of untouchable. Although he isn’t in a serious relationship, there is still something lingering there. This also feels like his ex, at least the energy is the same so I really don’t know if it’s just him who keeps having a weird relationship with his ex or If this a new person. Also, I see that there’s a very close friend of him that has very bad intentions concerning Minhyuk, and that he will take advantage that he left for military to due whatever they have in mind

Career: I see a lot of work, a lot of things that Minhyuk did before he left, and I suppose that he has some little presents to give his fans after his service (or during who knows). Honestly he is happy to take this break

Health:

Physical: Nothing much

Mental: He is having a low self esteem at the moment, I still see the instability of August around him through his past traumas and abandonment issues

Kihyun

Love: Another member who is having some trouble with his relationship. In this case, it feels more like there was lies coming from him that is provoking the situationship between the couple. I don’t know much, only that they are together for now, however I don’t think they will be together for long, as I sense a break up.

Career: Career wise, Kihyun is going very very well, not only does he has 2 sponsors behind his backs, he also has a lot of projects he is working on for his fans and for himself as an artist. Boy is also quite rich at the moment, as he is investing a lot of money on himself and his career

Health:

Physical: okay

Mental: He should take care of his mental health as I see dark thoughts around him and a lot of internal turmoil probably linked to his love life

Hyungwon

Love: I don’t have much insight on Hyungwon’s situation, other that he is in a relationship still and he is adapting to it. I also feel a lot of family energy involved, and Hyungwon’s wishes of becoming a father

Career: He battled quite a lot with his company about his situation, but it seems like all the arguments have came to an end to give him what he wants. At the moment, Hyungwon is happy with what he signed for and he is working on his own solo things and projects for this here. I see a lot of success for him

Health:

Physical: he is okay

Mental: is having unhealthy behaviors that can cause harm to his body and soul

Joohoney

Love: Jooheon was single until someone cheated on their partner with him and now they are kinda of together. This person is really under his charms and their feelings have been growing strong since December. Jooheon wants this person to meet his family

Career: His career is a huge mess, and I have a lot of difficulties to actually understand what’s happening here. It seems like Jooheon was denied of his projects and he had to fight a lot along side his manager ti get his opportunities back. At the moment, it seems like he has been working on his solo album, he just needs a green light for his company

Health:

Physical: Chest pains really should be looked upon, since it has to due its hormonal issues

Mental: He overthinks a lot and feels guilt

I.M

Love: Finally I got some insight, and it seems like Changkyun was in a relationship with someone (age-gap) and he made everything he could for this person to leave him (masochist much ?). He basically ruined his own relationship at his own accord and the worst and strange thing, is that I see and feel happiness and peace of being by himself once again

Career: He is still choking what path he wants, what musics he wants to work on and show, what color as an artist he should give. Changkyun as a precise idea of what he wants but to put that in practice is a little more complicated. There’s a lot of changes coming for his career

Health:

Physical: Headaches

Mental: He has been suffering a lot mentally and emotionally, I see a lot of anger as well linked to his environment. Thankfully he is being followed for that
