Hyoji tinha a péssima mania de tentar carregar mil coisas de uma vez, mesmo sabendo que não tinha braços suficientes pra tudo isso. Tinha pressa, pois já eram quase oito da noite e ele não queria perder a sessão double feature do cinema. Então lá estava, tentando chegar ao carro com uma enorme pilha de livros de geologia, uma mochila nas costas, uma garrafa d’água e um jaleco que precisava levar pra casa pra lavar. Estava tão distraído em seu caminho que nem notou que quando foi abrir a porta do veículo quase acertou alguém que estava passando. Na confusão, pelo menos três de seus livros foram parar no chão, a garrafa foi parar de baixo do carro e o jaleco, bem, agora que precisaria de uma visita à maquina de lavar. O pior de tudo é que, além do desastre, ele não sabia se tinha machucado a pessoa que passava. “... Me desculpe... Você se machucou? Acho que fui meio burro tentando carregar todas essas coisas ao mesmo tempo.”

“you’re getting out of a relationship. you’ve been moping for too long. you need this.” my friends had got into the hottest club, but also the most secret one. i had no idea how she got us onto the list, but she did. then i realized how she got us in.

“there’s my baby.” she pointed to the corner of the club to where seven boys sat. they all had their own styles. but there was one that caught my eye. he sat in the middle with a glass of wine in his hand swirling it around. he looked up from his drink, then up at me before looking at me from head to toe. might i say, he was gorgeous, he had blue hair, he wore a leather jacket that showed his figure very nicely. did i mention his eyes? to. die. for. 

hyoji was the one that got us into the club. she pointed at the boy with brown hair with purple highlights. he had the fucking sunshiny smile i had ever seen in my life. this was my first time meeting my girls’ boyfriend’s, let alone their friend group. our friend group consisted of five girls, including me, six. five of the boys, were taken by these four girls. they all ran to their guys, but the one i had my eyes my god, he was a fucking greek god. i didn’t even know people were built like that. i had to peel my eyes away from him.

“stop drooling over jaemin. i knew you would think he was cute, but not this cute.” one of my girls behind me put my hand on my back before walking in front of me to wink at me. i rolled my eyes before turning on my feet to go to the bar.

“one gin and tonic please.” i leaned up against the bar before looking back at my friends to see them all making out with their boyfriends. there was a guy sitting on the side on his phone clearly used to all of this which made me laugh. he was definitely the youngest. 

“gin and tonic huh? says a lot about your personality.” i turned to the side to see the most perfect man in the entire world. jaemin. 

“yeah says the one drinking wine.” i sassed back as i thanked the bartender for my drink. i turned around to face the dance floor taking a few sips from my drink. i looked at hyoji who was smirking at me from where she was while taking a shot. as i rolled my eyes at her i could feel him staring at me. 

“are you done staring?” i smirked to myself before turning to face him. he smirked looking down before looking up at me. he put his arm around my waist pulling me towards him. 

“not yet. give me a few more years.” he leaned in towards my lips so that he was basically touching my lips. i could feel his lips graze past mine. i leaned forward to whisper into his ear, 

“i’m not even gonna give you two seconds. don’t even think about a few years.” i smirked before walking away from him over to where everyone else was. the room was somewhat private, but before i could even walk in, this guy grabbed my wrist so that i wouldn’t be able to. he pushed me against the door frame taking a peek behind me before speaking.

“how about i take you on a proper date instead of hanging out with these losers?” he laughed under his breath then smiled. i didn’t think i had ever seen such a pretty smile. he was perfect. he waited for me to reply, and when i nodded, i told my friends that i was leaving with jaemin. they all cheered me on as i ran out with jaemin.

we didn’t go on a proper date, we just walked around the streets, with no people around, i wasn’t really sure why but i didn’t mind. he was very boyfriend material. it felt like i was hanging out with a guy best friend. he was the nicest guy in the entire world. i wanted to see how he would answer to questions on the spot. 

“how do i know you’re not like every other guy that hit on me?” i smiled realizing that i asked a stupid question. believe me, i regretted it, hard in the future. 

“you’re just going to have to trust me.” he shrugged grabbing my hand intertwining our fingers together. i rolled my eyes before we continued hanging out, walking around until i was tired. he laughed when i was about to collapse from walking. 

“this is me.” i looked up to see we were already at my house. i smiled before walking towards my house. he waved at me before i walked into my house. 

“why the fuck didn’t i ask for his number?”

a few days past, everyone was talking about how the prince was coming in to visit the city, and of course i wanted to see the prince. a lot of people that met him said he was hella good looking. my friends and i did everything in our power to meet him. we showed up a week later, and there he was.

O rapaz nem era muito de ir à festas ou frequentar o Wings Pub, mas daquela vez estava estranhamente animado. Mesmo tendo crescido na Coreia, seus colegas de curso eram em grande parte estrangeiros e frequentemente contavam histórias das festas de dia das bruxas que frequentavam no ocidente e ele sempre tinha tido vontade de ir à alguma. Por isso, quando soube da comemoração daquele dia 31, sua primeira reação foi começar a planejar uma fantasia: escolheu uma jaqueta de couro com vários patches bordados, uma calça jeans, penteou o cabelo para cima e colocou um par de óculos escuros estilo aviador que não lhe permitiam enxergar muito bem (afinal, a vista nunca tinha sido de fato saudável). Top Gun era um dos filmes do momento e ele, como bom entusiasta de grandes romances e histórias com ação, estava completamente obcecado pelo protagonista interpretado por Tom Cruise. 

Seus colegas de laboratório chegaram a fazer algumas piadinhas sobre o estilo que não condizia tanto com a forma com que ele se vestia normalmente (sua marca registrada era o estilo meio nerd largado e levemente fã de rock), mas quando chegaram à festa ele nem ligou pra mais nada que não fosse se divertir. Circulou por uns bons minutos, bebeu um drink colorido que nem sabia o que era, fez passinho junto com os colegas, dançou várias músicas (mesmo com seu jeito meio desajeitado) e já estava quase indo descansar quando aquela garota simplesmente aconteceu. Jimmy estava distraído quando um de seus amigos lhe deu um cutucão no ombro e murmurou um “Olha ali Maverick, parece que a sua Charlie chegou” seguido de um risinho. O coreano arqueou as sobrancelhas, sem entender nada, mas virou o rosto para olhar na direção onde o outro havia discretamente apontado. Naquele instante, foi como se o mundo todo tivesse mudado. 

Já havia visto aquela garota algumas vezes nos corredores da faculdade, já havia até lhe dado algumas aulas de laboratório e trocado algumas palavras cordiais, porém mesmo tendo a achado muito linda desde sempre, nunca tinha achado uma chance de se aproximar. Porém agora ele estava de Maverick e ela estava de Charlie, só podia ser um sinal. “Aposto dez pratas que ela não dá mole pra ele.” o outro amigo riu, debochado, e Hyoji fez cara feia. “Quando a gente se casar eu te pago.” respondeu, recebendo de volta uma salva de gritos e risos de todo o grupo. Ele nem falava sério, é só que ela era tão bonita e parecia sempre tão inteligente, que naquele momento de destino o jovem só conseguia se sentir como um daqueles marinheiros de filmes que vêem a garota de longe e dizem ‘Do you see that girl? I’m gonna marry her someday.' e vão atrás, na cara e na coragem. 

Talvez fosse o álcool, ou a fantasia, ou seu desejo de acreditar que aquilo era realmente um alinhamento dos planetas que finalmente lhe permitiria se aproximar dela, mas de repente ele se encheu de braveza e foi, tal qual um galã de cinema americano. Enquanto se aproximava alguns passos, esperou que a menor o visse e mesmo estremecendo um pouco com o olhar feminino, continuou seu caminho. Quando estava próximo o suficiente para falar, mesmo com a coragem sumindo de pouquinho em pouquinho, ele abriu um sorriso. “Hey.” cumprimentou, torcendo para que ela não percebesse sua falta de jeito. “Eu acho que... A gente coincidentemente veio de par...”

     THE HUNTER HAD JUST finished gathering his things, tossing the large duffle bag over his shoulder. it had been a long day with a few kills under his belt. there had been a group of vampires too close for comfort near hyoji’s mansion and upon further inspection, kyung was able to learn that they were there for hyoji himself. of course kyung wouldn’t let that happen. after the job, he rushed in to tell hyoji about the matter, seeing no point in keeping it from him -- as well to clean up a bit.

     HE HAD ONE HAND on the door knob when he heard hyoji’s voice and he turns with a look of confusion and shock before his features soften. “you really want me to stay? i promise you’re safe,” he responds with a reassuring smile. gesturing to the small amulet he had given the other male, kyung nods his head. “a friend of mine makes protection charms and that will protect you while i figure out who’s after you -- and why.”
