Open Lord Renaer Ambermantle
Human - Eldritch Knight Fighter - Chaotic Good
Art by the wonderful n8dl3!
When I ran Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, lots of stuff was jostled around by the setting switch for my group that doesn't play in the Forgotten Realms, but the character Renaer mostly stayed the same!
Our Renaer (made into a fighter to cover the party's lack of heft) is a protective guardian figure who risks his life to protect his friends and the innocent, including once taking a fireball nearly point-blank to save the life of an orphan child. After his adventures with our Dragon Heist party, he went on to become Open Lord of Revelmoore after the previous one was assassinated.
The son of prominent nobleman and disgraced former Open Lord Dagult Ambermantle, Renaer leads a life of charity and open mindedness in defiance of his estranged father. When his father made a bid for the crown of the Kingdom of Oceanus across the sea, Renaer joined the defenders of the crown against him.
Renaer paid dearly for the defiance against his father, who personally murdered Reaner's spouse; Bonziel Ramrider, sister of the new Xanathar, Raeziel Ramrider.
Dagult hopes that by instilling hatred, he can stoke Renaer's desire for greatness in the pursuit of vengeance. This has worked to a degree, as Renaer pursued the title of Open Lord to gain the political power needed to resist his father's influence.

Hello! I come with a new guy! This is Lawrence for a different DnD campaign then Ray. He’s a 15 year old human wizard!
The campaign he’s from is called Beforever After and it’s basically the generations of different stories! Lawrence is a Hansel and Gretel kid but instead of being Hansel or Gretel, he’s forced to become the Gingerbread Witch. He has so so much anxiety.
When he and his twin sister went to play out the story, the fae that usually played the witch was dead. Their mother (the last Gretel) had killed her for real for real so they couldn’t do it. Merlin took Lawrence and ended up raising him to be good at magic. However, due to Lawrence’s stubbornness and intense care for his family, even while at the school Lawrence keeps falling short (this is mostly on purpose though). He’s a sophomore at the beginning of the campaign so he’s just sort of doing his best to fail everything.
The earring has his family. The closer to his charm on the earring, the closer he feels to them! Editha and Annika (his mothers!) are actually tied for the most part but he feels a slight bit more connection to Annika due to their shared anxieties. His twin sister, Rosalina, and him are both transgender just opposite directions! Funnily enough, they both figured this out and came out around the same time. Lawrence gets regular updates on his family from Merlin so he thought this was silly, though he missed her even more.
He has a younger cousin named Gustav who will take his original place in the story. This makes Rosalina really protective. So protective in fact that Lawrence can’t be in the same room as her without the risk of death! It’s probably because her memories of Lawrence have been wiped (this hasn’t been fully confirmed yet though. Just my own theories).
Lawrence likes to go into the library and read up on the various different stories that have occurred meaning he’s noticed the multitude of patterns going on between them. The last Hansel and Gretel story actually had some weird discrepancies so he’s on a mission to figure it out. Sorta. There’s really only so far one can go when the entire school is trying to prevent that.
This guy hasn’t slept in 3 days, he’s bullied by classmates (if they even interact with him at all), and he’s constantly on the verge of a breakdown. I love him, he’s pathetic.

uhhh woe more dnd guys be upon ye!
Lawrence is unsurprisingly very easy to carry. His jock friend, Chad, tends to take advantage of this. Chad is like... the jock ever too. Full of heart and dumb of ass.
