1. Understanding the importance of YouTube thumbnails for increased views
1. Understanding the Importance of YouTube Thumbnails for Increased Views
The importance of YouTube thumbnails cannot be overstated when it comes to increasing views on your videos. Thumbnails act as the virtual billboards that give potential viewers a glimpse of what your video is about. In a platform with more than 2 billion monthly active users and hundreds of videos on similar topics, a captivating thumbnail separates your content from the sea of options available. This tiny yet powerful visual element plays a significant role in attracting more viewers and boosting your video's credibility.
Several studies have shown that an eye-catching thumbnail can increase the click-through rate of your videos, with YouTube itself stating that its highest-performing videos have unique thumbnails. A visually appealing and contextually relevant thumbnail not only draws the attention of the user, but it also conveys the essence of your video's content effectively. Failing to invest time in crafting an attractive thumbnail might result in fewer views, even if your video offers the most informative content on a particular topic.

2. How to create an attractive video thumbnail in six easy steps
2. Creating an Attractive Video Thumbnail in Six Easy Steps
Creating an eye-catching video thumbnail is an essential step in making your videos stand out and attract views. In just six easy steps, you can design a thumbnail that grabs attention and increases the likelihood of users clicking on your content. Here's how:
Step 1: Choose the right dimensions Follow the recommended size of 1280 x 720 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9 for optimal viewing on YouTube. The width should be at least 640 pixels, and the file size should not exceed 2MB. Save your thumbnail in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.
Step 2: Select a high-quality image Pick an image that accurately represents your video content and captures the viewer's attention. The image should be clear, vibrant, and visually appealing. Consider using a screenshot from your video or a stock photo that represents your topic well.
Step 3: Incorporate branded fonts and colors To maintain consistency across your channel, use branded fonts and colors in your thumbnail design. This not only enhances brand recognition but also provides a more professional look to your thumbnails.
Step 4: Utilize text wisely Add relevant and concise text to your thumbnail to provide context and intrigue. Make sure the text is easy to read, even on smaller screens, and doesn't overshadow the image.
Step 5: Include design elements Incorporate visually appealing design elements, such as shapes, symbols, or clip art, to enhance the overall look of your thumbnail. Be creative and experiment with different design options.
Step 6: Test different versions Once your thumbnail design is complete, test different versions to see which performs best in terms of views and engagement. Analytics tools can provide valuable insights into which thumbnails are more effective, allowing you to refine your design approach over time.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words, and a great thumbnail does just that by grabbing the audience's attention at first glance. 1. MrBeast – With over 77 million subscribers, MrBeast is known for his high-quality, entertaining content and unique thumbnails. 4. The Role of Colors in Creating an Effective Video Thumbnail
Colors play a significant role in designing captivating and engaging video thumbnails. They not only make your content visually appealing but also contribute to communicating your brand’s message effectively. Considering the importance of video thumbnails in attracting viewer attention and encouraging clicks, it is essential to understand the role of colors in creating an effective video thumbnail.
Firstly, colors convey emotions and can affect a viewer's perception of your video. For instance, warm colors like red, orange, and yellow evoke feelings of warmth, excitement, and energy, while cool colors like blue, green, and violet signify calmness, tranquility, and trust. Using these colors strategically in your video thumbnail can help communicate the mood of your video and attract viewers who resonate with that emotion.
Secondly, colors play a crucial role in establishing a strong brand identity, which drives customer recognition and loyalty. Coordinating the colors of your video thumbnail to reflect your brand colors can create a consistent visual identity, making it easier for your audience to recognize your content, thereby building trust and credibility.
Additionally, utilizing contrasting colors can make your video thumbnail stand out from the competition. By placing complementary colors or contrasting shades against one another, you can effortlessly draw attention to the primary subject or text within the thumbnail, making it more appealing and readable at a glance.
Finally, research has shown that certain colors naturally grab viewers' attention, such as red, orange, and yellow. Incorporating these attention-grabbing colors while staying true to your brand identity can help your video thumbnail gain more visibility and ultimately generate more clicks.

5. The power of facial expressions in video thumbnails and how to use it
The Power of Facial Expressions in Video Thumbnails and How to Use It
The importance of video thumbnails cannot be overstated, as they offer a sneak peek into the video's content, pique viewer interest, and encourage more views. One significant element to consider when designing a video thumbnail is the use of facial expressions. Here is an overview of the power of facial expressions in video thumbnails and how to use them effectively.
Studies have shown that human faces in thumbnails tend to draw more attention than those without faces, as our brains are wired to recognize and respond to them. Facial expressions, in particular, can create an emotional connection with viewers, making them more likely to watch the video. In fact, research from Google reveals that thumbnails featuring expressive faces can increase the click-through rate by 30%.
To leverage the power of facial expressions in video thumbnails, follow these tips:
1. Choose an expressive face: When selecting a thumbnail image, opt for one with a clear, emotional facial expression that conveys the theme or mood of the video. Be it happiness, surprise, or anger, the emotion should resonate with viewers and entice them to click.
2. Ensure clarity: Make sure the face in the thumbnail is clear and not obscured by text, graphics, or other distractions. Viewers should be able to decipher the expression at a glance, even on smaller screens.
3. Test different expressions: It may be worthwhile to experiment with different facial expressions in your thumbnail to determine which resonates best with your audience. Analyze viewer engagement and click-through rates to identify the most effective thumbnail.
4. Stay genuine: Avoid using exaggerated or misleading facial expressions that do not accurately reflect the video's content, as this may result in viewer disappointment and decreased engagement.

6. Highlighting main content in video thumbnails for increased curiosity and views
6. Enhancing Thumbnails to Spark Curiosity and Boost Views
Creating a visually appealing thumbnail for your YouTube video holds immense significance in grabbing your audience's attention and increasing views on your content. A captivating thumbnail not only sparks curiosity but also plays a vital role in encouraging users to click and view your video. With such importance placed on thumbnails, it is essential to ensure that the main content of your video is highlighted effectively to garner maximum engagement.
Focusing on the key elements and utilizing high-quality images are crucial in designing attention-grabbing thumbnails. Use strong visuals and contrasting colors to make your video stand out amongst the multitude of other content available on YouTube. Moreover, incorporating clear and bold text that summarizes the main topic of your video in just a few words not only piques interest but also improves user comprehension of your content.
Incorporating your brand logo or a specific theme resolution in your thumbnail is an excellent strategy to establish brand consistency and ensure viewers recognize your content at a single glance. Moreover, maintain a consistent font style and size for text in thumbnails, making it easier for users to associate the visual elements with your brand.

7. Importance of including brand identity in video thumbnails
The importance of including brand identity in video thumbnails
In today's digital age, branding has become a crucial aspect of marketing and promotion for any business, as it creates a distinct and lasting impression in the minds of potential customers. When it comes to YouTube, video thumbnails play a significant role in determining the success of your videos by attracting viewers and generating interest in your content. Therefore, it is imperative to incorporate your brand identity into your video thumbnails to create a consistent and professional look, which will, in turn, lead to increased engagement and viewership.
One of the main reasons why incorporating your brand identity into your video thumbnails is essential is that it fosters brand recognition and recall. Consistency in the visual elements, such as colors, fonts, and logo placement, helps viewers identify your content and associate it with your brand quickly. Additionally, it establishes credibility and trust, which can lead to increased viewer loyalty and long-term success.
Another benefit of consistently including brand identity in your video thumbnails is that it strengthens brand image and sets you apart from the competition. With a distinctive visual style, your thumbnails capture the attention of viewers and communicate the quality and value of your content. This, in turn, can lead to higher engagement rates and improved chances of viewers clicking on your video, ultimately boosting your channel's overall performance.

8. The Dos and Don'ts of Using Clickbait Thumbnails for Increased Views
When it comes to designing clickbait thumbnails that can increase your video views, it is essential to follow some do's and don'ts. By adhering to these guidelines, you can avoid any negative repercussions and ensure that you're attracting the right audience.
Do: 1. Create an eye-catching design: Your thumbnail should be visually appealing and grab the viewer's attention. Make use of bold colors, contrasting text, and clear imagery that relates to your video's content.
2. Keep it relevant: Though clickbait is known for its exaggerated nature, your thumbnail should still accurately represent your video's content. This will help prevent disappointment or viewer drop-off when users realize that the thumbnail is misleading.
3. Test different thumbnail designs: Experiment with various styles, layouts, and themes to determine which ones yield the best results.
4. Optimize for different platforms: Ensure that your thumbnail image is properly optimized for various viewing devices to maintain its visual appeal and readability across all platforms.
Don't: 1. Mislead your audience: Avoid using clickbait tactics that create false expectations for your viewers. This can lead to disappointment and mistrust among your audience, harming your engagement rates and your long-term success.
2. Overwhelm with text: Too much text on your thumbnail can make it hard to read, causing users to pass over your content. Choose a concise, relevant title that complements your thumbnail's imagery.
3. Use low-quality images: An unprofessional or poorly executed thumbnail can discourage users from watching your content. Invest resources into creating a high-quality and engaging image.
4. Violate platform guidelines: Familiarize yourself with the thumbnail and content guidelines on the site where you're posting your video, as violating these rules could result in penalties or removal.

Climate change appears to be high on the agenda for tech billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates but some are questioning whether they’re focusing their efforts on the right areas.
Broadly speaking, the three richest tech billionaires — who rank in the top five richest people on the planet — are all trying to develop new technologies that can reduce the world’s carbon dioxide emissions.
Musk is largely focused on funding carbon capture technologies, Gates is particularly bullish on nuclear energy, and Bezos has created a dedicated “Bezos Earth fund.” All of them believe that technology has a major role to play in tackling climate change and they’re doing their utmost to ensure they’re pushing the boundaries when it comes to climate tech.
“They basically think in the ‘Iron Man way,’ which is that we can build the technology to innovate ourselves out of it,” Christian Kroll, the founder and CEO of search engine Ecosia, told CNBC on a video call, adding that they should be focusing more on planting trees.
“No technology will ever get there,” he said in reference to trees. “And on top of that, you’re getting so many things for free. You’re getting fertile soil, you’re doing something against the biodiversity crisis, and you’re helping the water cycle so you have less droughts and less floods.”
Global carbon dioxide emissions have soared over the last 100 years, leading to unprecedented global warming and climate change.
It’s widely known that trees are among the most efficient carbon-capture machines on earth. They remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through a chemical reaction known as photosynthesis where they turn the gas into energy that they use to grow. Empress trees, for example, can absorb about 103 tons of carbon a year per acre.
Twelve of the top 20 climate solutions relate to either agriculture or forests, according to climate non-profit Project Drawdown, which is based in San Francisco.
Last week, Britain’s Prince William underscored the importance of investing in nature to tackle climate change and protect our planet.
“We must invest in nature through reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and supporting healthy oceans, because doing so is one of the most cost effective and impactful ways of tackling climate change,” he said.
“It removes carbon from the atmosphere, helps build more resilient communities, tackles biodiversity loss, and protects people’s livelihoods. This is crucial if our children and grandchildren are to live sustainably on our precious planet.”
Jack Kelly, the founder of Open Climate Fix and a former researcher at Alphabet-owned AI lab DeepMind, told CNBC that a mix of approaches is required. “I think we need a wide range of interventions, both tech and reforestation,” he said. Open Climate Fix announced Tuesday that it has raised over £500,000 ($689,000) from Google.
Dave Waltham, a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Royal Holloway, University of London, told CNBC that “natural climate solutions” like tree planting can be viewed as “emergency first aid.”
“They buy us time to develop permanent solutions,” he said. “New forests, for example, absorb CO2 for 40 years or so and then reach an equilibrium. Buying time this way is immensely valuable as we still cannot produce completely climate-neutral food, steel, energy, and concrete.”
Trees and reforestation, however, are relatively low down on the tech billionaire agenda list, according to Kroll.
While the tech billionaires wouldn’t necessarily be able to “solve” climate change by planting more trees, they could have a “massive impact” if they dedicated more of their capital to the matter, he said.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Amazon founder Bezos is worth $197 billion, Tesla founder Musk is worth $181 billion, and Microsoft founder Gates is worth $145 billion.
Representatives for Musk and Gates did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment, while a representative for Bezos declined to comment.
Forests or fusion?
There’s no denying that tech billionaires are becoming increasingly interested in climate change.
In January, Tesla CEO Musk pledged to invest $100 million in new carbon capture technologies. Carbon capture is the process of trapping waste carbon dioxide either directly from the air, or just before it gets emitted from factories and power plants.
His investment in new carbon capture technologies dwarfs the $1 million he spent on trees in 2019 when he gave YouTuber Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson a donation to help him reach a $20 million tree planting target.
Musk’s stance on climate change is complicated, however. While he runs a relatively green electric vehicle company, he has also been criticized for his love of bitcoin, which is now one of the world’s biggest CO2 emitters.
Meanwhile, Gates thinks nuclear energy is the future and his TerraPower company, which he founded in 2008, is aiming to build a fully functional advanced nuclear reactor.
In his new book “How to avoid a climate disaster,” Gates doesn’t seem to be convinced that trees are worth investing in.
“It has obvious appeal for those of us who love trees, but it opens up a very complicated subject ... its effect on climate change appears to be overblown,” he writes.
Gates argues that the most effective reforestation strategy is to stop cutting down so many of the trees we already have and says that “you’d need somewhere around 50 acres’ worth of trees planted in tropical areas to absorb the emissions produced by an average American in their lifetime.”
The Microsoft mogul clarified his stance on trees in a podcast interview with New York Times journalist Kara Swisher in February.
“If you’re going to fund for 10,000 years constantly replanting it, then that’s a legitimate offset,” said Gates. “If you’re just planting one generation of trees, it doesn’t get you much. You know, I’m not saying it’s a mistake or anything. But that will not make a significant dent in this problem.”
Gates, who is now the largest owner of farmland in the U.S., added: “The idea that there’s a place to plant a trillion trees, that’s just wrong.”
Elsewhere, Bezos created the $10 billion Bezos Earth Fund last February to provide financial support to scientists, non-governmental organizations, activists and the private sector.
So far, the Bezos Earth Fund has issued grants to several organizations that focus on reforestation including Eden Reforestation Projects, The Nature Conservancy, and The Natural Resources Defense Council.
Amazon, however, has been criticized for increasing pollution with its planes and vans, and for using excessive amounts of cardboard when packaging its products. Amazon says that its packaging is 100% renewable and that it doesn’t use plastic clamshells and wire ties.
Amazon Web Services, the company’s cloud computing behemoth, and Microsoft also operate energy intensive data centers around the world.
Turning profits in plants
But Kroll thinks the tech billionaires are still relatively “obsessed” with dreaming up new technologies to take on the problem.
His company, Ecosia, has made tree planting a major part of its identity.
Headquartered in Berlin, Ecosia donates 80% of its profits to charities that focus on reforestation. Essentially, if a person goes on the Ecosia search engine and performs a search, almost all of the money that the company makes from digital ads will be used to plant trees.
The company has partnered with over 60 tree planting organizations who have planted over 123 million trees, Kroll said, adding that they’re mostly in developing countries in the tropics.
“Through our tree planting, each search is removing around 1kg of CO2 from the atmosphere,” said Kroll. “I’m doing dozens of searches every day so thousands of searches every year. That’s a few tons of CO2 removed from the atmosphere just by searching.”
Kroll suggested that people should only be classed as billionaires when they remove a billion tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
“All the others are just dollar billionaires,” he said. “That’s boring. We don’t need that in a 21st century anymore.

On the flip side of this, Kelly opined that just as much as crypto could be very successful, it could also end up flopping. What age is TikTok
Professionals on TikTok get on and Smash it now.
The world is changing. People have shorter attention spans. People want information quick. Short form video content (under 30 seconds) is getting more attention than the other sort of content on social media.
Are you continue to underestimating TikTok? Are you uninterested in Instagram’s snail-like growth? TikTok could seriously help grow your brand, much faster than the other platform. But why?
Here are 10 reasons why professionals and corporations should smash it on TikTok immediately in 2021:
1. Any Niche, Any Professional on TikTok
Yes, TikTok started getting famous due to dancing, but if you are doing not want to ascertain dancing, then TikTok will now show it to you. what's so successful about TikTok is that the algorithm. It gradually understands what you wish by watching what you've got watched and interacted with. If you looked for plumbing then watched a couple of plumbing videos, then the algorithm will recognize that and feed you more relevant content almost like that. you'll find many professional on the platform. I even have connected with doctors, lawyers, engineers and professional athletes to call just a couple of . If you're wondering what quite content you'll create for yourself or your business, you simply need to look for something similar by other professionals on TikTok, in your niche, to urge ideas. A baker can show baking bread, a chiropractor can show necks being clicked. The ideas are endless.
If you're lucky to figure for you own company then the chances are endless. Companies do encourage social media for promotion. Sam Fares (@thepatentattorney), who may be a Lawyer, says people at his work are surprisingly supportive. TikTok are often an honest marketing tool and even large companies are beginning to add a social media policies to make sure boundaries aren't crossed.
2. it isn't only for Kids
According to Comscore statistics, US TikTok users by age is: 33% children and 67% adults. This statistic was taken at the top of 2020, so it's fairly old now therefore the platform has matured even more now.
Even, Gordan Ramsey (@gordonramsayofficial) is using TikTok himself now and most of the large YouTubers like Mr. Beast (@mrbeast) are there already. Instagram Reels remains far behind TikTok - the videos on Reels are like what was being shown on TikTok two years ago, with mostly music only. you'll copy the platform but you'll not copy the audience. i buy many comments and messages by adults everyday on the platform and on the road . a number of these are passed on from their siblings too. Bare in mind, if you influence the younger generation, this also rubs off on the oldsters . So TikTok could even be an honest investment strategy if you are doing target Generation Z. But eventually 67% of TikTok users are adults.
3. TikTok Helps Growth on other platforms like IG and Youtube
TikTok provides links on your profile for both Instagram and Youtube. there's also a choice to add link to your website otherwise you can even put LinkedIn there if you wish . These links are quite other platforms need to offer. Instagram only allows you to insert one link on your platform, so does Twitter, and Clubhouse that only as two. These links gives an honest opportunity to spread your followers elsewhere. Social Media Strategist, Caleb Chin (@socialfeed) thinks that one among the quickest thanks to grow a following on Instagram in 2021 is to create a TikTok following. i might need to agree.
"The quickest thanks to grow on Instagram is to create a following on TikTok."
Successful TikTok accounts also can build an outsized number of subscribers on Youtube without even published one video on YouTube. Take writer and storyteller, Greg Hinthorn (@hinthorn) for instance . He reached bent his TikTok audience and told them he will published his first Youtube video when he reached 4000 subscribers on there. Now he has reached 4000 subscribers on Youtube from TikTok. he's now publishing videos on both platforms.
4. Most Downloaded App on the App Store
According to Appfigures data, TikTok is that the most downloaded app. 90% of all TikTok users access the app on a day to day .
Furthermore, consistent with App Annie, TikTok's screen time at the start of 2021 overtook Facebook for the primary time. the typical screen time for a mean TikTok user is over 20 hours per month.
5. Engagement Can Attract Leads
Client opportunities, contacts, influence and leads - the engagement within the comments section on TikTok is insane. I even have never seen anything love it . there's also a messaging service on TikTok. this will be turned in settings, so anyone can send you a message. you'll also directly reply to an issue via a video which which is shared on your feed, which may helps engagement.
American Architect Tom Reynolds AIA (@tiktokarchitect) has been active on the platform for a year now confirms.
"I'm actually getting more work coming from TikTok now, than anywhere else."
6. TikTok is Authentic
TikTok is transparent and authentic. there's not many commercials or people trying to sell. you are doing not get many of us selling their eBook or spending the primary 5 mins asking you to subscribe because those sort of videos don't had best . TikTok is blunt, straight to the purpose and these are the videos that had best on TikTok. People try to offer something quickly. If you give value meaning something, then an audience will come. Vulnerability is additionally a key factor that folks like. the right filtered and edited photograph on Instagram isn't authentic, neither may be a highly produced YouTube video. People can relate to TikTok because its real - the videos that tend to try to to well aren't the over productive type. it's like what Youtube was 20 years ago. Transparency, vulnerability and authenticity goes an extended way on social media in 2021 and TikTok fits.
7. Learn on TikTok
TikTok has heavily invested $50 million into an ingenious learning fund on short form educational content, which might be the longer term for social media and online education. If you begin learning the way to give information or teach with videos now, this might bring many opportunities for your business or personal brand within the near future. it's not about selling something - its about giving value.
"We've partnered with over 800 public figures, media publishers, educational institutions, and real-world professional ... to supply us creative learning." -TikTok
8. Its Quick and straightforward
If you're a business and employing a videographer to try to to you videos - take care . tons of media companies don't have much experience with short form video, or TikTok. it's a reasonably new thing. they're likely wont to top quality produced videos. Have they published many short videos? Have they built an audience before? These are the questions you ought to be asking them. Quantity is more important for brief form video content. The TikTok app has almost everything in it to make videos quickly, even green screen. you are doing not need to spend one to 2 hours during a room like Club House or spend every week editing an extended form video. Many creators are beginning to up the sport with mirrorless cameras rather than their phone, for higher quality, but this has not oversaturated the platform yet.
9. 100% Creativity
This makes it fantastic if you're within the creative industry. Creating videos displays your creativity. YouTube and TikTok are the highest creative media platforms.
On one hand, you've got you Instagram and LinkedIn where there's tons of individuals sharing other people's content? for instance , a number of the highest architecture accounts on Instagram are accounts reposting other peoples content. it is the same with LinkedIn. People even download other peoples videos on other platforms and repost them on LinkedIn. These videos don't have much creativity.
On the opposite hand, uploads on TikTok have very high creativity. one among my favorite and straightforward videos was made by Architect, Dory Azar (@dory.azar.architect) who actually drew a door swing under a door to elucidate how door swings are drawn. When lecture Dory on Clubhouse, he explained that folks like simple explanations - they appear to figure best.
10. More Organic Reach Than the other Platform
If you begin a replacement account on today with no followers, post something, that post has potential to succeed in more people than the other platform. there's only LinkedIn immediately that comes close. But, new businesses still slug away at Instagram and Facebook in 2021. These platforms tend to be more powerful for people that have already built an audience, have account authority, or want to pay via promotion. this is often partly the rationale why TikTok is so popular. Everyone features a chance for videos to try to to well and reach an audience. Social media apps like Instagram and Facebook are old matured platforms now. These reasons help make TikTok the platform of choice.
If you would like to create a brand, you ought to obviously start by getting to the platforms with the foremost reach. albeit you're still convinced the audience is just too young on TikTok, it could still be an honest marketing investment for you within the short to future .
It might be time to prevent shaking your head. Its a no brainer. TikTok and short form video content is here to remain .
RIBA Chartered Architect, Russell M. Henderson (@ArchitectRussell) is predicated in Tanzania, East Africa . He also 'edu-tains' his passion for Architecture Travel & Film with video content on YouTube , TikTok & Instagram.
Acquisition customer top 5 to use Tiktok
Tiktok is presently gaining popularity with over 300 million active users worldwide. Most business owners feel Tiktok isn't ideal for business because it's crammed with entertainment and sometimes ridiculous videos.
But, that was what many said about Instagram and Snapchat. Today, these two platforms are getting used by top brands to get many thousands for his or her business monthly.
There are numerous reasons why small business must use Tiktok to urge new customers. But during this post, we only covered top 5 reasons.
1. it's Easy to create Communities
With Tiktok for business, building communities is extremely easy. Tiktok may be a video content platform, and with video, grabbing people’s attention is extremely easy as modern-day users are more likely to consume video content than written content.
So, small business owners can cash in of this to make numerous videos of about 15 – 60 seconds to grab the eye of their audience and build their following.
Some people are just on the platform to consume content and to not create. So, with this in mind, your job is to offer them something to consume and obtain their interest.
2. Over 500 Active Users Globally
The number of active users on Tiktok is insane. With over 500 million active users globally, this is often not a chance small businesses should ignore.
Although the most important demographic of Tiktok users are between the age of 16 – 24. But that doesn’t mean people of older age aren't there.
Much like other previous “hot” social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, Generation Z was the primary to leap on them. So is that the same for Tiktok.
However, if you log into the platform now, you'll find freelancers, dentists, teachers, fashion designers, and even grandparents actively using the platform.
3. it's Easy to Grab Users Attention
Tiktok may be a video-sharing platform and videos are the sole quite content that grabs your attention without you approving it. It starts playing immediately you set your eyes thereon .
Small businesses can cash in of this to share educational, entertaining, and promotional videos moderately. Users are on the platform to be entertained so small businesses must find out how to balance their content because it only takes a scroll to chop your video out.
4. Top Brands Are Claiming their Spots
Go check in on Tiktok now and search if you won’t find top brands like Walmart, Family Feud, HP, and other top brands. numerous brands are now taking advantage of the trend to make awareness and obtain more customers for his or her business.
5. A Platform to Sell with Fun
As a sensible marketer, you ought to be ready to promote your brand to your audience with less invasive techniques. Millennials are already conscious of most marketing tactics and thus they're going to ignore your videos if you are trying to travel the standard ways.
Using stories in your content to pass your brand message will produce a win for you. you'll gain tons of attention by launching a hashtag challenge. A hashtag challenge is where you tell users to make a specific quite video and incorporate your branded hashtag thereto .
You can work with a Tiktok influencer to actually make this type of challenge go viral.
What you need to know about TikTok
TikTok is one of those social networks that grew in popularity VERY quickly, but if you are over the age of 30, you still might have NO IDEA what the platform is all about.
Let’s start with the basics:
Who uses it?
TikTok is primarily used by the under 30’s. 60% of US TikTok users are aged between 16-24, according to a November 2019 release from Reuters.
What is it?
TikTok is basically a re-branding of Musical.ly (don’t worry if you haven’t heard of that either). Basically, it is a social platform where creators can post 15ish second videos (up to 60 seconds) that are shared to their followers, with hopes of landing on the apps “For You Page” (FYP).
What is being posted?
This is a tough one. In the early days, TikTok was full of lip-syncing, and dancing. Today, the scope of content varies, and the algorithm that the platform uses is VERY advanced. Based on the types of videos you watch, and seem to enjoy – the algorithm will shoot out all sorts of videos that it thinks you may enjoy.
For this reason, you may see completely different content than someone else on the app. There are now “Sides” of TikTok as the youth are calling it. This basically means the type of content you are being shown. Political TikTok, Dancing TikTok, Alt TikTok, Straight TikTok, Food TikTok or many others!
Disclaimer: I am definitely on the Puppy and FoodTok side!
Can you make money?
Depending on your location, there is now a creator fund on TikTok for some users. This means that you can earn money per-view on your videos. Unless you have a very large following (we are talking in the millions) TikTok might not be a stable source of income, however, the exposure it brings can open LOTS of doors. Many famous TikTok-ers are now treated like typical celebrities, so sponsors and endorsements are a large portion of their income.
Is it for business?
It’s a powerful tool for the right companies, with the right demographics. We have seen a bump of tiktok of companies using influencers to share their products, creating original ads, or creating accounts and posting unique content. If your target demographic is under 30, this could be a perfect platform to explore!
Even politicians are getting in on the action!
TikTok is a very trendy app, with tons of young minds. Some political figures are using this platform to reach out to young voters and soon-to-be voters. This is an incredibly smart move in my opinion!
One Canadian example that comes to mind is Jagmeet Singh - check out his profile here!
Should you get TikTok?
This is a personal choice. If you are a fan of Instagram and social media in general, and you can use a smart phone with 60% confidence… why not give it a shot?
There have been privacy issues globally, and instances of banning in the US – so do your research and be mindful of what you are sharing, commenting, and engaging with on the App.
Overall, it is a fun platform with absolutely no pressure to ever post anything yourself. You can watch videos for hours, or if you are feeling up to the challenge – try posting a video for yourself!
Conclusion
If your business targets millennials, Tiktok is the perfect platform to get new customers for your business. Small businesses willing to create entertaining and humorous videos can take advantage of this platform to create visibility for their brands and get new customers.

Favourite Quotes
“One of the reasons I like giving away money is I just like to see how people react.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
”If you’re not giving away $100,000, people aren’t watching your videos.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
“I’d rather be poor than doing anything beside YouTube.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
“If you want the special secret, if you want to know where it all came from — my parents aren’t that rich.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
”I’m only 20 years old, every dollar I’ve ever made came from YouTube, and YouTube just pays better than you think.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
“I genuinely enjoy helping people. It’s something I’ve had an issue with, I’m that much of a nice guy.” – Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast)
Life Lessons
How does Jimmy do it all? What is the secret to his success, and can we learn something from his success? Of course, we can, here are some life lessons that we can all use.
Start Wherever You Are With Whatever You Have
Jimmy did not have this type of success from the first day he started. He started making YouTube videos at the age of 13, and it took him six years to go viral and grab a lot of attention.
He used to make Let’s play-type of videos, where he recorded himself playing Minecraft a few years ago.
Those were his first videos, which only got around 1,000 views per month back at the time.
Now he usually gets more than 11 million views per video in the first two to three days after they’re published.
He started his channel on February 19, 2012, and got 20 million subscribers on June 18, 2019. This represents seven years, three months and 20 days.
Keep Experimenting Until You Find What Works
His content has changed over the years. From Let’s play-type of videos, he experimented with super-long videos with challenges like saying Keep Net Neutrality for ten hours straight and counting to 200,000.
Some of the rare challenges that he has done to start his virality series were:
Spin a fidget spinner for 24 hours straight
Say Pewdiepie 100,000 times non-stop
Count to 100,000, which took 48 hours
Watch paint dry for an hour
Read the entire dictionary in one sitting
He explains in a video that after donating $10,000 to a homeless man, he realised he liked helping people, so he continued doing it.
Keep Improving Your Craft
No matter how much success you have reached so far, you must continue learning, investing and improving. Mr Beast is an example of that.
“I used to make a dollar a day, so I didn’t even have a microphone. My mindset was just ‘reinvest everything I make’ — every time I got a paycheck, that was the month’s budget,” he says in an interview with the other popular YouTuber, Casey Neistat.
“So I saved up a dollar a day to buy a microphone. When I made a few thousand, I just spent a few thousand. When I made ten thousand, I just spent ten thousand. As I made more videos, I was like ‘I want to spend it on videos somehow.’”
Help Others As Much As You Can
He has helped many people so far, including his family, friends, and random strangers.
In September 2018, as a 20-year-old, he even managed to give his mother $100,000 and called this the “proudest day of my life”:
Enjoy the Process
Mr Beast also does seem to enjoy the process. At least, in the last few months, we could say, as he switched from doing seemingly weird challenges like Watching Paint Dry to arguably more interesting ones, like Last To Remove Hand, Gets Lamborghini Challenge.
This is also because he gets to work with his friends and does these entertaining challenges with them.
Be Consistent
You may be able to take a few lucky shots here and there, but the real challenge is to keep the consistency.
If you want to keep getting such a large number of people following your content, you need to put in the work and keep producing.
He has been uploading regularly, putting out multiple videos per month, and getting more than 11 million views in all his videos in a matter of days.
This is pretty impressive. even when you compare him with PewDiePie, who is the second most subscribed YouTube channel, with 99,638,751 subscribers.
The more content he produces, the more likely it is for him to increase his exposure to new people from YouTube recommendations, social media shares, etc.
Summary
From the information gathered about Jimmy and his YouTube Channel, it is fair to say that Jimmy made his money via his YouTube Channel. MrBeast promotes the products of companies like TikTok, Lotto, Quid and others. YouTube pays between $2 to $5 for each 1k views. MrBeast gets about 7 million views per day.
After doing the maths, MrBeast banks $14k to $20k daily from YouTube ads showing on his videos alone. That is a lot of money for the young creative YouTuber who create content that goes viral.
By December 2018, MrBeast had given out $1 million through his outlandish stunts, earning him the title of “YouTube’s biggest philanthropist.” MrBeast is a product of his viral content: He’s only able to give out these thousands of dollars thanks to six-figure brand deals to fund in-video ads.

A number of high-profile Twitter accounts were simultaneously hacked on Wednesday by attackers who used the accounts — some with millions of followers — to spread a cryptocurrency scam.
Apple, Elon Musk and Joe Biden were among the accounts compromised in a broadly targeted hack that remained mysterious hours after taking place. Those accounts and many others posted a message promoting the address of a bitcoin wallet with the claim that the amount of any payments made to the address would be doubled and sent back — a known cryptocurrency scam technique.
In the hours following the initial scam posts, Kim Kardashian West, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Wiz Khalifa, Warren Buffett, YouTuber MrBeast, Wendy’s, Uber, CashApp and Mike Bloomberg also posted the cryptocurrency scam.

While we’re still learning more specifics about how the hack went down, we can report that the hacker leveraged an internal Twitter admin tool to gain access to the high-profile accounts. That reporting was soon confirmed by Twitter’s own account of what happened. On Wednesday evening, the company tweeted that “a coordinated social engineering attack” on employees gave a hacker “access to internal systems and tools.”
We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools.
— Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) July 16, 2020
Before the scope of the incident became clear, the hack appeared to focus on cryptocurrency-focused accounts. In an initial wave of scam posts, @bitcoin, @ripple, @coindesk, @coinbase and @binance were hacked with the same message: “We have partnered with CryptoForHealth and are giving back 5000 BTC to the community,” followed by a link to a website.
The linked site was quickly pulled offline. Kristaps Ronka, chief executive of Namesilo, the domain registrar used by the scammers, told TechCrunch that the company suspended the domain “on the first report” it received. Hacked accounts shifted to sharing multiple bitcoin wallet addresses as the incident went on, making things more difficult to track.
Twitter first acknowledged the situation at 2:45 p.m. PT Wednesday afternoon, referring to it as a “security incident.”
We are aware of a security incident impacting accounts on Twitter. We are investigating and taking steps to fix it. We will update everyone shortly.

At first, it appeared that some of the compromised accounts were back under their owners’ control as tweets were quickly deleted. But then, Elon Musk’s account tweeted “hi” after his initial tweet with the scam was deleted. The “hi” tweet also disappeared.
Twitter users reported seeing error messages on the platform as the situation went on. TechCrunch reporter Natasha Mascarenhas saw this error (see below) when she tried to create a threaded tweet. TechCrunch reporter Sarah Perez saw a similar error when trying to post a normal tweet. Both have verified accounts.

As the issues continued, many verified Twitter users also reported being unable to tweet. Around 3:15 p.m. PT, the official Twitter Support account confirmed “[Users] may be unable to Tweet or reset your password while we review and address this incident.” By Wednesday evening, Twitter said that most tweeting should be back to normal but functionality “may come and go” as the company “continue[s] working on a fix.”
Most accounts should be able to Tweet again. As we continue working on a fix, this functionality may come and go. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.

Who was hacked
It became clear early on that this situation was not the case of a single account being compromised as we’ve seen in the past, but something else altogether. Even Apple, a company known for robust security, somehow fell victim to the scheme.
Apple’s account was also hacked. This was the account’s first tweet. (Image: TechCrunch)
Many high profile accounts were quickly hijacked in rapid succession Wednesday afternoon, including @elonmusk, the eccentric Twitter-obsessed tech figure with a notoriously engaged fanbase. A scam tweet posted to the Tesla and SpaceX founder’s account simply directed users to send bitcoin to a certain address under the guise that he will “double any payment” — a known cryptocurrency scam technique. Musk’s account appeared to remain compromised for some time after the initial message, with follow-up posts claiming followers were sending money to the suspicious address.

Some Democratic political figures were also hacked as part of the cryptocurrency scam, including Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Mike Bloomberg. An official from the Biden campaign told TechCrunch that Twitter locked down the former vice president’s account “immediately” after it was compromised and the campaign remains in close contact with Twitter on the issue. At the time of writing, no accounts belonging to Republican politicians appear to have been hacked.
Barack Obama had his Twitter account hacked to spread a cryptocurrency scam. (Image: TechCrunch)
Wiz Khalifa’s account was also compromised, as was the Twitter account of popular YouTuber MrBeast, who often posts giveaways, making his re-post of the bitcoin address particularly likely to drive followers to the scam.
The hack also hit legendary investor Warren Buffet, a prominent and harsh critic of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. “I don’t have any cryptocurrency and I never will,” Buffet told CNBC in February.
Unusual hack, common scam
While the scope of Wednesday’s Twitter hack is unprecedented on the social network, the kinds of scams the hacked accounts promoted are common. Scammers take over high-profile Twitter accounts using breached or leaked passwords and post messages that encourage users to post their cryptocurrency funds to a particular address under the guise that they’ll double their “investment.” In reality, it’s simple theft, but it’s a scam that works.
The main blockchain address used on the scam site had already collected more than 12.5 bitcoin — some $116,000 in USD — and it’s going up by the minute.
A spokesperson for Binance told TechCrunch: “The security team is actively investigating the situation of this coordinated attack on the crypto industry.” Several other companies affected by the account hacks did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
It’s not immediately known how the account hacks took place. Security researchers, however, found that the attackers had fully taken over the victims’ accounts, and also changed the email address associated with the account to make it harder for the real user to regain access.
Scammers frequently reply to high-profile accounts, like celebrities and public figures, to hijack the conversation and hoodwink unsuspecting victims. Twitter typically shuts these accounts down pretty fast.
A Twitter spokesperson, when reached, said the company was “looking into” the matter but didn’t immediately comment.
This story is developing. Stay tuned for updates.
Below are screenshots of some of the hacked accounts.

Is 2019 the year that influencer marketing grows up?
This guest post was written by Adam Hadi, the VP of Marketing at Quidd
For the past two years, the term “influencer marketing” has been thrown around as a something as a catch-all to serve as an abstraction: a foil to the expensive and exclusive direct response marketing strategies that have eluded all but the wealthiest app developers that can afford to build the expensive infrastructure and staff the expert teams that produce most — all? — non-organic growth on mobile. And while some developers have been successful at utilizing influencer marketing to build audiences, many simply looked hopefully to the idea of influencers as a panacea — a nebulous idea that might help their businesses grow without requiring millions of dollars worth of upfront marketing investment. Unfortunately, these developers have been left largely on their own to implement influencer campaigns, with the largest platforms neglecting the ecosystem and only investing lightly in building out tools and technology to connect influencers to developers and streamline the process of utilizing that marketing strategy.
I believe that there’s a strong chance that in 2019, a major social platform — Youtube, Instagram/Facebook, Twitch, or Snapchat — fully embraces influencer marketing, by providing influencers / sponsors full access to the tools available to advertisers on their native ad platforms today. This includes tools such as attribution (particularly view-through attribution), native CTA buttons, audience data, and retargeting capabilities.
Just a few years ago this idea would have been considered far-fetched, as ad giants like Google and Facebook would have never wanted to help advertisers potentially move budget off their existing native ad platforms. However, doing so has proven to be an uphill battle for the platforms as influencer marketing has become a powerful strategy for many advertisers, particularly in the current environment of increasing CPMs and with many highly-sought customers eschewing ads with paid streaming services (Netflix, Spotify Premium, Youtube Premium, etc.). Rather than fight the tide of influencer marketing, it only makes sense for the platforms to embrace it, particularly as the battle for content on each platform has grown to be just as significant as the battle for users and revenue. Rather than viewing direct advertiser deals with influencers as a circumvention of their existing ad platforms, influencer marketing should be viewed as a key way to attract influencers to create content on their platforms.
Snap has learned this lesson the hard way. Throughout most of its history, Snap basically ignored influencers on its platform. Without additional power tools, managing a large Snapchat account was challenging, and growing one’s audience natively on the platform was difficult with almost zero discovery tools. Instead of supporting influencer content on its platform, Snap originally chose to heavily invest in partnerships with traditional media outlets, with cable channels like CNN, ESPN, and Comedy Central being among the first to launch on Discover back in 2015.
Contrast this approach with fast growing Tiktok, which is making large investments into acquiring and empowering influencer talent (and their content) to its platform. Snapchat has since seen a number of strategic changes in order to embrace influencers, with Evan Spiegel stating last year that, “We have historically neglected the creator community on Snapchat that creates and distributes public stories for the broader Snapchat audience. In 2018, we are going to build more distribution and monetization opportunities for these creators.” But 2018 has passed and Snapchat has yet to provide influencers with a compelling way to meaningfully drive revenue. Providing influencers and their brand partners with better tools to measure direct influencer marketing campaigns would certainly help accomplish this, in a way that doesn’t involve them cutting into their ARPU with a revenue share.
The more influencers struggle to monetize their content on any platform, the more they’ll move to platforms where they can easily make money. Youtube has been sharing ad revenue with channels for over a decade now, and it should come as no surprise that it has the richest creator community across all platforms.
As more money is being dedicated to influencer marketing, the first platform to fully embrace it will immediately become a much more attractive place to run influencer marketing campaigns. And as influencer marketing dollars flow to influencers on that platform, more influencers will invest into their content on there, which in turns drives more users there, and leads to a virtuous cycle for the platform.
The “race” for this has already begun, albeit with baby steps rather than a sprint. In 2017, Twitch began giving streamers a cut of sales from games that they were streaming. Later that year, Instagram launched its Branded Content tool (i.e. “Paid Partnership with…”), which offers limited insights for Brands that are running campaigns directly with Instagrammers. In 2018, Facebook launched its “Branded Content Matching” tool that is still in Beta and which helps connect its influencers to brands. Perhaps the best known step in this race has been Google acquiring the influencer marketing platform Famebit (since rebranded to Famebit By YouTube), which means that Google is actually already taking a percentage of influencer marketing revenue today.
A big, open question is how the platforms will treat this revenue. A reasonable comparable approach may be embedded marketing (i.e. “product placements”) on TV networks. In this case, most of the revenue from these deals are captured by the TV Networks themselves, and the deals are in fact facilitated / sold by the TV Networks. A big difference, of course, is that the TV Networks ultimately have final say over everything that exists on their platform, where as today’s digital ad giants have given this up in exchange for (mostly free) user / publisher generated content.
So while TV networks have enough power to execute and collect revenue from product placement deals, it’s not clear if Facebook or Google do when it comes to influencer marketing deals. Google is taking a ~20% cut of self-service influencer marketing revenue on Famebit (where the platform itself is facilitating matching and payment of the deal, but not execution). However, not all influencer marketing deals are conducive to this model, particularly as integrations with influencers move beyond simple “mentions” (essentially ad placements) and get more deep and complex. (See: Quidd’s sticker pack contest with MrBeast and Miniminter or Joyride with Kavos as a Guest Host). Perhaps we’ll have a clearer answer in 2020.
