Beomgyu x Taehyun
can you feel the rush by permutative (predebut) (3/3 | 23,400 | T)
“Well, it’s settled.” Beomgyu leans forward, his smile blooming into a full-fledged grin. “Of course I’ll help you, Taehyun. After all,” he clutches his heart dramatically, hand over chest, “who am I to deny true love? I’ll make sure you’re the best boyfriend that guy has ever come across.”
(Or: in order to win over his crush, Taehyun asks Beomgyu to teach him how to date. This can't end well.)
(practice dating / fake dating au, friends to lovers)

beomgyu ^-^: come visit my island i know you're online!! beomgyu ^-^: i'll give you my fruits?? ㅠㅠ
Taehyun stares at his texts balefully. When Yeonjun leans over his shoulder to look, he immediately bursts into laughter.
“Dude, you are so whipped,” he says, and Taehyun briefly considers murder.
(In which Beomgyu starts an Animal Crossing club at their university and drags a very tired, very whipped Taehyun along.

Yeonjun x Soobin
you wouldn’t do it, but i just might by renaissences  (1/1 | 17,317 | T)
Yeonjun has had critics' eyes on him for the last five years, and he’s going to have the world's eyes on him for the rest of his life. But in this moment, Soobin is the only person on earth who can see him, and Yeonjun likes that. Likes that right now, for once, he gets to choose who he wants to be known by, who he wants to see all the ugly parts of himself. And he chooses Soobin.
(Or, the day Yeonjun's introduction film drops is five years in the making. It's also the start of a much longer journey.)
(predebut au, trainees au)
i just love predebut aus and this one is so good!! talks about the pressure of being number one and trying to live up to yeonjuns ‘legendary trainee’ imago
A helping hand by soobanana (1/1 | 9,600 | M)
"A webcomic artist?"
Yeonjun tilts an eyebrow, stopping his dishwashing to look at his mother who’s observing him from the table. He should have expected it. For her to show up at his place unannounced with his favourite dishes- she had to have something to ask.
“Yes,” she confirms, circling the spoon into her teacup absentmindedly. “My friend’s son. She says his back is getting worse and she’s worried. But he insists he doesn’t have time to get it treated, it’s expensive, yada yada. That’s why she thought of you,” she says, and as Yeonjun’s about to reply, she adds, “Of course, I said you’d be glad to help.”
Yeonjun sighs. “Of course you did."
Or,
Yeonjun finds himself getting attached to his client, a webcomic artist with a bad back but very nice hands.

fluffy and smutty what more do i have to say
Stray Kids
Jisung x Minho
all in(to you) by dawnshine (1/1 | 44,892 | E)
Jisung needs to get laid, plain and simple.
Except it isn't that simple―not when he lets his ego drag him into a bet that requires him to get in his classmate's pants before the end of the semester, not when said classmate with his round glasses and perpetual sweater paws is so easy to fall for, and certainly not when he turns out to be a huge fucking tease.
(uni au, bets)
go read all of this author’s works right now!!! simply too good for words, chose this one to rec simply bc this is the first one i read of this author
Love’s at fault by likelynaked
How Minho's made it to his final year of university he'll never know, with the way he leaves every assignment until the last minute, and can't work for longer than an hour without at least three shots of espresso. Studying in cafes to maintain his caffeine dependency is also getting to be a pretty expensive habit. Still, it's not all bad when he can distract himself with the sweet voice and even sweeter face of open mic musician, Han.

Changbin x Seungmin
Falling Sideways by FutureLikeJicasso (1/1 | 5,658 | T)
It's been raining all day.
Hammering, freezing, relentless rain; the kind of rain that makes standing outside for more than twenty seconds an utterly miserable experience. Any sensible person would stay safely indoors on a day like this, if they had the option. But Ravenclaw has the Quidditch pitch booked for today, and Seungmin wouldn't miss it for the world, whatever the weather.
After all, his captain is counting on him being there, and no matter what, Seungmin will never let Changbin down

Keep The Car Running by Bitsori (1/1 | 22,343 | T)
“So it's just us?” Changbin asks, giving Seungmin a look of uncertainty. “Just the two of us?”
Seungmin shrugs again - he doesn't know what Changbin wants to hear from him. If he could back out of or postpone this trip he would have already done so.
“Only you and me,” Changbin keeps going. “On this drive.”
“Shut up,” Seungmin mumbles, shaking head and marching off to the passenger side of the car. “This is for Hyunjin.”
“For Hyunjin,” Changbin echoes as he slides into the driver's seat. “Right.”
Seungmin doesn't know how he's supposed to survive the next few days with just his ex-boyfriend as his company, in a cramped car at that, but as with most things - it is what it is, so he just has to figure out how to deal.

Jay x Jungwon
chasing stairways just to fall by yeosokai (1/1 | 17,288 | T)
“He’s sleeping,” Jungwon says.
“Yeah. In your lap. Jay-hyung. Is sleeping. In your. Lap.” Sunoo enunciates every word carefully, as if saying them any slower will help Jungwon understand why all of them are looking at him like he’s grown two heads.
(or: the five times everyone thinks jay and jungwon are dating, and the one time jungwon starts to wonder if they really are)
(5+1, friends to lovers)
just too cute (also very IC), i recommend all of the author’s fics
Polaroid Love (You're Gonna Wanna Be My Best Friend, Baby) by Tae2junnies (1/1 | 23, 357 | G)
“Seven steps, Jungwon?!” Jay hissed at Jungwon. The younger hummed in satisfaction from the other end of the line. Jay called him immediately when he received the PDF document of their Valentine’s day…program.
“Yes. Seven steps. And what about it?” Jungwon asked, nonchalantly. Jay spluttered.
“That doesn’t seem like a little too much?!” Jay asked, incredulously
“No, it doesn’t. It’s just standard procedure. We didn’t celebrate it last year, so we have to make up for the lost time.” He could hear the smile in Jungwon’s voice and Jay hated that it made him want to smile as well, just imagining Jungwon’s pretty dimples peeking.
“Jungwon, we did celebrate it last year!”
“I had the flu and I stayed at home!” Jungwon said, accusingly. Like it was Jay’s fault that Jungwon had a weak immune system.
“And I spent the day with you seated at the top of a freaking ladder next to your bedroom window to keep you company!” Jay reminisced.
"Hyung, we're having my kdrama fantasy. Just accept it!"
Unfortunately, Jay's heart and resolve was weaker than Jungwon's immune system.
OR:
(AU) Jay and Jungwon celebrate Valentine's Day. It's messy and cute. Just like them.

Jake x Heeseung
spilled detergent and other things by orphan_account (1/1 | 5,565 | G)
Like most of the expectations Jake has of people and things, Heeseung definitely meets them too. Only there’s something different about the way Heeseung smiles shyly at him, something that goes against all of Lee Heeseung’s ‘too cool for anyone’ image.
or; jake pours heeseung some of his detergent and he can't stop thinking about heeseung after + initimidating karina bc i love women

Oh….
Your locker looked slightly different today.
It was festooned with ribbons, little pictures of cats and, inexplicably, squirrels, star and heart stickers, and glitter. There was even a card dangling from the knob. You stood stock still in front of it, trying to process the tableau? creation? mess in front of you. There was only one person in the entire school you knew would try something like this. And, here he came down the hall, a wide grin on his face.
“Han Jisung, did you do this?” you demanded as he approached. Shouldn’t a senior have more dignity than this?
“Do you like it?” Jisung replied, leaning against the lockers beside yours.
“I’m not sure what I think, but I know that it’s now practically impossible for me to get to my locker.” You tried to push some of the decorations out of the way. “Why did you have to do this?”
“Did you at least read the card?” Jisung asked hopefully, pouting a little.
You cursed him for looking so cute when he pouted, then mentally shook yourself. “No, I didn’t. And it’s almost first bell, so if you could move? Please?”
Jisung’s face fell, but he moved away slightly. “Aw, come on, princess! Can’t you read the card while I’m still here?”
“Jisung, please leave me alone, will you? It’ll be hard enough getting through all this stuff as it is.”
Jisung laughed lightly, giving you a fond smile that was completely lost on you as you struggled with his decorations, then strolled away into the crowd of onlookers who, by now, were used to his outrageous displays of affection for you. “Remember to read the card, Y/N!” he called over his shoulder.
You let your head fall against your locker and got a face full of glitter for your trouble. Damn it, Jisung, you thought as you hurriedly tried to wipe the glitter from your forehead. Then, after a two minutes of wrestling with the Jisung’s additions to your locker door, you managed to retrieve the books you’d need for the day.
In your first class, a couple people gave you strange looks because of the remnants of glitter on you, but no one said anything about the locker decorations. It would only be a matter of time, though, you knew. At lunch when your best friends found you, they gently teased you about “lover boy.”
“How many times has he done something like that this year, Y/N?” Irene asked, smirking at you.
“This is the fourth,” you muttered, looking down at your food. “Two other letters, too.” You could feel heat rising to your cheeks.
“He really is insistent, isn’t he,” Mei commented, shaking her head. “Aren’t you at least annoyed?”
You were silent for a moment as you chewed. “No, amazingly not annoyed. I guess I’m just indifferent?” you lied. In reality, you kind of liked how much Jisung tried to get your attention, but you were going to make him work for your affection. But not too much because that would be mean.
“Like hell you are,” Irene laughed, nudging you with her elbow. “You’re into him, aren’t you.”
“I’m not!” you insisted. “Really!”
Irene and Mei just gave you disbelieving looks, but continued eating their lunch all the same.
When you went back to your locker that afternoon, Irene and Mei in tow, the ribbons and such were gone, but the card… The card was slipped through the crack between the frame and door of the locker, and fell to the floor when you opened it. Receiving cards from Jisung was nothing new, and you didn’t mind much because he was never creepy about it. Sighing, you retrieved the card and opened it.
“What the hell?” Mei coughed, the scent you knew Jisung wore wafting up from the card-stock on which he’d penned his letter. “Did he really have to do that?”
You just shrugged and leaned against your open locker to read.
Y/N, oh beautiful Y/N!
How could I ever write anything as beautiful as you are?
Your eyes sparkle like the glint of sunlight off a puddle that has just a bit of oil in it—you know, so it’s like a rainbow? Your voice is as melodious as the song birds that wake me up in the morning. And your words… They’re like acupuncture needles: relieving of stress and pain but capable of just the same.
I wish to present my heart to you, to simply give it to you like a flower.  But alas, I cannot as that would be messy. I would give you my service were I a knight and you a lady, or put myself in your power like a human subjugate to a vampire. Because, all that I do is to win your heart, your wondrous, wondrous heart!
Dearest Y/N, I’m like a volcano of love for you—erupting with love and affection all over the place. I hope my words don’t leave a bad taste in your mouth, since I wouldn’t want your words to become anything short of honey.
Forever yours,
Han Jisung
You stood there for a moment, trying to keep a straight face as your friends burst out laughing and exclaimed at how cheesy Jisung was. They weren’t wrong. But— Jisung had really written all that to you, and beneath the slightly strained metaphors and verbosity, you could tell that his feelings were true. You playfully shoved Irene, who was now trying to wrest the card from your hands.
However overblown Jisung sounded or dramatic his displays were, you knew he was a good person. You couldn’t be mad at him, especially when he was just so damn cute. Quickly stuffing the letter into your backpack, you slung it over your shoulder and said goodbye to your friends. They called after you that they’d also erupt all over the place with love for you. You just rolled your eyes.
As you scuffed your boots through the small piles of snow that had drifted into the walkway and buried your face in your scarf, you could still faintly smell the perfume Jisung had added to the letter. It wasn’t that bad, after all, and the spiciness of it reminded you of the feeling when you’ve settled down with a good book under a thick blanket. You could definitely get used to it.
↠↞
Ah, February. As soon as the first day of the month arrived, you were wary of what Jisung might decide to do on any of the days surrounding Valentine’s Day. But, you barely saw Jisung. That in and of itself was odd, since you had two classes with him that semester, including Western Literature from 1750 to 1920; but it was odder still because he usually made a point of talking to you once every day, if not more. You’d never admit it to anyone besides your raccoon plushie, but you found yourself disappointed every time he didn’t talk to you or wave or flash one of his ridiculous smiles your way in the halls.
At the end of the first week, you received another letter, also slipped into your locker. This time, you waited until you got home to read it. The letter was far more staid, with none of the extravagance or hyperbole of the other one; no whiff of perfume graced the card-stock, either. Jisung was straightforward, expressing that he found you attractive and even apologizing for being so outrageous in his attempts to woo you. You read the last lines as you curled up in bed.
I hope the depth and sincerity of my feelings are plain to you and that you can at least accept them, if not return them. I would be blissfully happy if you did return my feelings, but I hold no expectations for you. Please know that I admire and adore you, Y/N, light of my heart.
Forever yours,
Han Jisung
As you read his words over and over and over again, unable to tear your eyes nor thoughts away, you realized that, yes, you did return his feelings. You hadn’t quite internalized that, but reading his sentiments had certainly put things in perspective for you. If you didn’t give him some indications of your mutual feelings soon, you could quite possibly lose Jisung altogether.
I admire and adore you…..
On February 13th, you decided to treat yourself to a nice tea and a snack at a local coffeeshop. You knew it would be fairly busy, but didn’t mind; sometimes, the bustle of people was a welcome change from your usual, studious existence.
The smell of baked goods, coffee, and cardboard met your nose as you opened the door, letting a blast of warm air out onto the street. Carefully, you made your way into the line that snaked through the small shop, and tried not to eavesdrop on the conversations around you. That plan, however, did not work well. You enjoyed taking in all the sounds around you far too much to ignore something as integral as conversations. Person by person, the line moved forward until you were one away from the counter.
And, of course, your phone buzzed just at that moment with a text from Mei. You quickly responded, but didn’t notice that the person ahead of you had been helped.
“Y/N?”
Your head shot up to see none other than Han Jisung standing behind the counter, looking just as shocked as you felt.
“Oh! H-hi, Jisung,” you stammered and shoved your phone back into your pocket, embarrassed.
“What would you like today?” Jisung asked politely. You could tell he was trying to remain on his best behavior, as he was at work.
“Could I have a scone and an Earl Grey tea, please? With just a little cream. Thank you!” you chirped, glad that your nervousness over ordering food hadn’t taken hold of you today.
“Sure, thing,” Jisung smiled. “Just pay and one of us will come find you with your order.” Then, because he clearly couldn’t help himself, he winked at you.
You shook your head, your mouth quirking up at the corner a little, and moved over to pay for your food. Since the cafe was more than a little crowded, you chose one of the few seats open by the window. There, at least, you could look out onto the snow-dusted shops and people watch if, and when, you became bored with your homework.
Shortly thereafter, you felt a presence next to you and found Jisung poised to place a steaming mug of tea and your scone on the high table in front of you.
“Here you are,” Jisung said, voice warm and kind as he set the food in front of you. “It’s nice to see you, Y/N. Enjoy!”
Before you could say anything else, Jisung had turned and slipped away through the maze of occupied tables and chairs. Thoughtfully, you took a minute sip of your tea and sighed. It was delicious as always, and the scone was just as good, too.
An hour later, the cafe had nearly emptied but you were still there, nursing your tea. Perched at the table in the window, you could simply soak up the last of the afternoon sun as you worked on drafting an essay for your Literature class. It was the perfect arrangement—the cafe owner didn’t mind if you stayed there for a long time, and you had a place in which you could peacefully work while remaining energized.
Beside you sat the plate with your half-eaten scone on it, and the mug of tea. Absentmindedly, you reached for the mug and brought it to your lips to take a sip. You frowned when no tea met your lips. Before you could so much as move, Jisung was beside you.
“Hey, I noticed you were close to finishing your tea, so I made you another,” he said as he exchanged one mug for another. “It’s on me.” You stared at him, and he shifted self-consciously. “And, um, make sure to check under the mug, okay?”
“I— Thanks, Jisung,” you said, surprised at how gentle your own voice was. “I will.”
Jisung smiled at you before returning to the counter where a new customer had just arrived. You looked after him, amazed that he’d noticed you were coming down to the dregs of your tea. Lifting up the mug, you saw a small, folded piece of paper stuck to its bottom—it looked like receipt paper. Knowing what you’d find when you unfolded it, you carefully detached the paper—the letter—from the mug and read:
Dear Y/N,
I don’t want to keep acting like a gaudy peacock around you. I’m sorry. I know it must make me seem a bit…insensitive or outrageous or something like that. Someone I don’t want you to think I am, I guess.
You are incredible, intelligent, beautiful, kind, and caring. In short, the loveliest person I’ve ever had the honor to meet or know.
I hope… Well, you know. You must know.
All that is to say: I love you.
- Jisung
You reread the letter once more, feeling tears prick the back of your eyes as what felt like all the tenderness in the world welled inside you. Turning round in your chair, you looked to the counter where you saw Jisung nervously looking at you. The vulnerability in his eyes, the hope, the worry, the passion, everything made your breath catch. In something like a trance, you slid from your chair, still clutching the note, and made your way to the end of the counter where Jisung stood.
Taking a deep breath, you said to the shift manager—if their badge was anything to go by—“Could I speak with Jisung outside for a moment? It’s a matter of the heart. I hope you understand,” then grabbed Jisung’s hand as the shift manager nodded. Jisung did not protest as you pulled him outside with you, the cold air hitting you both like a hammer.
You didn’t let go of Jisung’s hand as you turned to face him, looking up into his deep brown eyes that were so dark that they seemed to lead to another world. You knew now that you’d gladly travel to that other world. Jisung’s lips parted slightly as he prepared to speak.
“Jisung,” you breathed before he could begin, “your letter… All of your letters, really… They’re everything to me. This one,” you held up the small piece of paper in your hand, “in particular, is perfect. And, I do know.”
Jisung didn’t wait for you to say anything else. He drew you toward him, one hand coming up to gently brush over your cheek as the other held your waist. Then slowly, so slowly, leaned down to brush his lips against yours. He was hesitant, as if he expected you to turn and run, but when you didn’t let him pull away as you locked your lips with his, Jisung knew that all his fears were unfounded. You wrapped your arms around his neck as Jisung cupped your face, kissing him back like you wanted to memorize the feel and taste of him. Again, you were overwhelmed by the feelings you felt and clutched Jisung tighter, making him smile against you lips.
“Thank you, Y/N,” he whispered in your ear as he hugged you to his chest. “You really are the light of my life.”

𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒔 90'𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 [ 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒂𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 ]
𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒋𝒊𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒈
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would travel thousands of miles just to be with you.
𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈
you and han might’ve met at school, through mutual friends
then of course the classic ‘mutual pining without you two realizing you’re falling for each other’ game until one of your friends point it out
and then on days he doesn’t have a busy schedule, he’ll walk you home from school
slowly it’ll be a habit, and you’ll grow closer and closer
sometimes unconsciously he’ll intertwine your fingers with his
sometimes when it’s raining / freezing cold he’ll give you his jacket
“no ji, you’ll freeze to death,”
“at least i’ll freeze to death for you,”
*winks*
𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔
dates with jisung aren’t fixed at one spot
he loves showing you different places he discovered throughout the weekend
usually its the townside, because he loves watching nature and sunsets
also loves taking you through the woods (but only during broad daylight because he still hasn’t recovered from that werewolf story his friend told him in grade 2)
once you’ve reached your destination, he’ll laugh and jump up and down, kissing your hand and face a thousand times
but the journey towards the destination is literal hell
“y/n, i know men are supposed to carry women, but i’m pretty lightweight, and my legs might snap any moment now,”
“y/nnnn please gimme a piggy back ride up the hill i might faint”
“wow y/n i’m offended i don’t think you deserve all these awesome places i take you to,”
and when you glare at him, he’s a 180 flip, because you might just break his bones for choosing such a faraway location in the first place
“i-i mean you don’t deserve them because you’re so much prettier than them!”
𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
okay see kisses with jisung are always quick and short because even if you’ve shared these moments a hundred times, each of them still feels like the first one
but sometimes he takes his time, kissing your forehead, then your nose, then your cheeks, then skips your lips and moves down to your chin
but when you pout / whine he’ll chuckle softly and come back up to kiss you
so yeah kissing with jisung is very giggly and soft all the time
but otherwise, he’d never notice how soft and bubbly his cheeks are if it weren’t for you
you’re always kissing and pinching his cheeks (like you should!!)
and he won’t act like he doesn’t like it; he’ll laugh it off or reciprocate your love because he feels very loved around you and wouldn’t change it for the world or better.
thank you, y/n

𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈
you first meet him at the café he works!
initially it wouldn’t be much, just you hurriedly ordering your coffee and leaving
but then you’ll notice the small hearts he scribbles after your name on the cup, sometimes even going as far to write a lil “you’ll do great!” or “you look really sweet today”
so one day you decide to go to his café with your friend
and while leaving you slip in your number to him, but turns out this ball of sunshine is trying to slip in his number to you; so you have a new thing to laugh about
so yeah you start hanging out after his shifts, sometimes you wait for him to close the café for the day
“y/n you know you don’t have to wait for me tonight, it’ll get pretty late,”
“no lixie, i’d rather go home late with you than go home alone,”
but he knows you only wait for him so that you can eat all the donuts and cupcakes with him after his shift ends
but its a win-win for both of you, so he doesn’t mind :D
𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔
so he knows it’s like top 10 anime betrayals to his workplace, but he loves taking you to pet cafés
one, because he loves animals
two, because you love animals
three, because he loves you playing around with these animals
“awh felix can we steal this one? it’s so cute,”
and he’s just laughing because you’re so c u t e
“i don’t think that’s allowed, y/n,”
but not gonna lie i bet he has tried sneaking out a dog for you, but he got caught by one of the workers there
“o-oh! when d-did this little guy fit into my j-jacket pocket!”
super adorable uwu
calls you angel and princess, while you’re calling him sunshine all the time
loves decorating your hair with flowers
oh! he loves braiding your hair too
like when you’re over at his place he’s always experimenting with your hair; doing little salon roleplays with you and prettying your hair
but sometimes when he’s tired from work he’ll let you braid his hair
also loves having matching outfits
before dating him you thought matching couple outfits were cliché and stupid, but after dating him, you realize how different they are
dating felix also means your fashion sense improves a lot👀
𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
felix, like hyunjin, has very kissable lips
he probably tastes like vanilla, plus he’s a great kisser
you’re wondering where he learnt all that from
making out with felix happens every other day, but its usually in bed with him on top of you while you guys are watching some movie / playing video games
also he’ll probably end up sleeping like that as you two slowly get tired
his face on your chest / on your shoulders and hands tight around your waist
this boy really loves you okay you better not make him sad >:(
𝒌𝒊𝒎 𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒎𝒊𝒏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You complete me.
𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈
at! the!! library!!!
you’re trying to pick a book from the second-to-top shelf, but since the universe decided to give you the most inconvenient height possible, here you are, contemplating if you should just drop the whole shelf down to get that book
but thankfully, seungmin is to the rescue!
he’ll smile and wordlessly take the book and hand it down to you
everyday its the same story; there’s a book that you really like, but its too far for you, but slowly you don’t mind because somehow seungmin is always there around at the same time to take that book for you
one day he decides to take initiative, but realizes he’s a coward and can’t do shit
so he’s over the moon when you come and sit next to him
“hey, i’m sorry for the trouble, but uhh i need some help with this assignment…”
and of course he’s there to help you! he’ll clarify where you need him to and explain you better than ever
slowly interactions increase and before you know it, you’re lying on your stomach on his bed with your legs dangling in the air as you two have your noses in a book
you learn more and more about each other, ultimately to the point where you know better about each other than about yourselves
𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔
initially when you two have just started dating, there would be study dates at the café down your block
but later you two take each other out on weekends, sometimes to the movies, sometimes to the town fair.
ahh but when dates are at the fair… >:)
let’s assume seungmin doesn’t have good experiences with rides
so naturally you will… take him to the rides only mwahaha
“y/n do you not love me? why are you doing this,”
you’re just evil laughing, you sadist
dates for seung-y/n are just sleepovers at each others house
he’s laughing like crazy when you’re messing shit up
“seungmin can you help me i’m stuck in this shirt,”
seungmin: proceeds to laugh for the next ten minutes at your contortionist-self
now unlike changbin, seungmin will not show you off to his friends
he doesn’t like the concept of ‘claiming you’, but he doesn’t like sharing you either.
“hey, isn’t that too revealing for a party?”
“seungmin? its a knee length skirt??”
𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
kisses = pecks on the lips / cheeks
you’re simply cooking / studying and he’ll wrap his hands around your waist from behind and rest his head on your shoulder
“what is my y/n doinggg?”
and he’ll kiss your cheek
sometimes leans forward to kiss you on your lips too
but in general kisses are soft
he’ll have a hand on your stomach, one on the back of your neck to rub smooth comforting circles
to be honest your relationship is more like best friends because you’re just always there for each other and can talk about the most stupidest things openly
you: “you know i’ve heard stars are all our forefathers looking down at us,”
seung: “really? i though they were just balls of gas though,”
you: “nah, i don’t think that’s true,”
𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒋𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love everything there is to love about you.
𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈
he moved in the same neighbourhood as yours, and since he was the only person around your age (and the only normal one your age), you had to be friends with him
you two meet up every evening at the neighbourhood park, and he doesn’t really mind your company, especially when you bring you little brother with you
“awh, is that your little brother? he’s so cute!”
“yeah, he is; thanks!”
“he looks nothing like you!”
he’s initially very shy to talk to you
but when he realizes how cool your personality is (and how pretty you are🤭)
he’s knocking at your door everyday to take you and your little brother to the park
he always buys you ice cream though, and somehow it’s always the flavour you like
“oh thanks jeo— ah i don’t like this flavour” :(
“don’t worry y/n! i’ll get you another one!”
𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔
homeboi is very shy
the fact that he’s dating the perfect person for him (!!!) is enough for butterflies and grasshoppers and bees and dinosaurs to fly in his stomach
he gets really fidgety, but he feels a little nervous thinking about the fact that most of the ‘firsts’ in your relationship are celebrated by you; first ‘kiss’ (to which he held your hand home, then went to his house to dolphin scream into his pillows), first ‘date’ (in which you took him out to the beach to watch the sunset and have snacks) and first ‘one month’ (where you took him out to an expensive restaurant, even when he refused a couple billion times)
phew that was a long point
so he decided to celebrate your first ‘out-of-town trip’, where he drove you all the way to a cherry blossom forest
he also took a thousand pictures of you, coming back home to print one of them and safely put it in his wallet
he feels every small moment spent with you so endearing, he finds himself smiling randomly
𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔
as previously mentioned, your first kiss was initiated by you; you two were walking home from the neighbourhood park like always, and jeongin had carried your brother in his arms, playing with him
you couldn’t stop thinking about how your first kiss would be, and so when he dropped you off to your house, you simply had to kiss him
he puts your brother down, waving him goodbye, and just when he’s about to say his farewells to you, you instantly peck his lips, after which both your eyes were wide is plates
“i-i’m sorry i should've—”
“ah no it’s okay, uh,” he scratches his neck, biting his lip to control his smile
and you simply chuckle at his cuteness, muttering a small ‘bye’ and ‘love you’ before going into your house
and the way his face changes once he’s out of your sight is just— *chef’s kiss*
he’s running home, and when his brothers ask him what happened, he’s just ignoring them and goes to his room to scream and laugh his heart out into the sheets
his family thinks he’s insane by now, but of course! he’s in love!
plus that with the cutest person in the whole world!

The door jingled as three figures huddled through the store together,
“It’s so cold!” One of them — Jeongin, exclaimed, bringing your attention to them from your organising,
“Lucky it’s warm in here. Hey, guys!” You waved as they approached, looking at the display of records and CDs behind you.
“Y/N!” Jisung approached you first, pulling you in for your signature handshake.
The taller boy, Seungmin, scoffed, looking down on the two of you,
“I can’t believe the two of you still do that elaborate greeting.”
“You’re just salty that you haven’t been friends with someone since childhood and had the awesomeness to come up with something like this.” Jisung defended.
Bitterness bubbled in your stomach,
Right. Friends.
The two of you had established your friendship way back in daycare when you lent Jisung your crayons... reluctantly, at that. But you were kind of desperate to make friends, so you accepted his request. What you had underestimated though, were his motives. Jisung had no intention on actually giving your crayons back. Long story short, hair was pulled, paper was thrown, including scissors at one point, all resulting in Jisung eating your crayons so that you would never get them back. You had never been more shocked in your entire life... well you were two-years-old, so there wasn’t much that you had experienced. However, your parents, after hearing of this fight, insisted on taking you to visit Jisung in the hospital (he had just digested crayons, it’d be concerning if he didn’t at least get it checked out), giving him a CD of your favourite songs for him to listen to. How a two-year-old was supposed to appreciate that was beyond you, but when he came back to daycare with a set of colour pencils and drew pictures beside you, the two of you were inseparable since.
However, once you had gotten into university, the two of you had exchanged more than friendly comments, making you reconsider his place as your best friend after all. I mean, did he make your heart flutter? Yes. Did you miss him whenever he wasn’t around, even when he was being a pain? Yes. Was he incredibly talented, handsome and amazing that you couldn’t help but fall for him?... Yes! You had been trying to figure out ways to hint to him what you really thought of him, but he was about as clueless as Cher in the movie Clueless. And seeing as New Years was round the corner, you had resolved to yourself that you’d confess to him as one of your New Years resolutions... It was now just a question of how...
As Jisung pulled you in for the final part - a hug, you inhaled his familiar scent, interrupting your internal monologue, your mind calming from its racing, seconds before.
“How may I help you guys today?” You brushed your clothes, trying to maintain an air of professionalism.
“Jisung dragged us all the way here to get some of your famous ramen.” Jeongin explained, sighing.
“You came all the way to a music store... to try my ramen?” You asked confusedly.
“I don’t understand the logic behind it as well. But we did come all this way, in the snow as well.” Seungmin looked at you pointedly.
“...okay. Wait here, I’ll make it.”
“Oh my god, I love you Y/N,” Jisung called out as you went to the staff room, your heart skipping a beat at his comment.
Sighing, you turned on the kettle,
Why is he like this? How does crayon eating boy have this much power over me?
Tumblr media
“Be careful, it’s hot!” You passed the steaming bowls of ramen and chopsticks to each of the boys, as the four of you sat around the till.
Bowl dangerously balanced on his elevated leg as he tried to pull apart the wooden chopsticks, Jisung flashed you a grateful smile,
“You know, Y/N, one day you’re going to make someone extremely happy with—“ He yelped as he jolted from the force of taking the wooden chopsticks apart, the bowl tipping off his leg and onto the carpeted floor. The red ramen soup soaking into the light carpet, staining it.
“Oh no! Y/N, I’m so sorry!” Jisung exclaimed, frantically grabbing at tissues from the counter, dabbing them on the ground.
You bit back a smile,
Of course, it was Jisung. But ugh it’s going to be a pain to get that dry cleaned...
“I might just have to sue you for that!” You said sarcastically.
Jisung looked at you wide-eyed,
“Oh! I— isn’t there anything else I can do? I can help out at the store for the rest of the break!” Jisung said frantically.
“Ohhh, no I’ll have to have sue you. Company policy.” You hid a smile, deciding to tease him further.
“Oh. Um, okay.” He blinked, unaware, “Let me just get a lawyer to represent me— Seungmin! You’re a lawyer, right? You need to represent me for this case.” Jisung grabbed Seungmin’s arm, looking at him pleadingly,
“I’ve literally only had one class and isn’t this a jo—“ Seungmin broke off as you stared him down, imploring him to partake in the practical joke you were playing on the other boy.
You sighed, “Okay. Seems like it’s sorted. We’ll meet up in two weeks. Hopefully, you’ll have your money ready, because I’m going to win this.”
“It’s Opposite Day. So you won’t, and I will, okay?” Jisung gave you a quick smile, dragging Seungmin towards the door.
“But, my ramen!” Seungmin complained.
“No time, we need to win.” Jisung dragged Seungmin out of the store.
You shared a glance with Jeongin,
This is going to be interesting...
Tumblr media
“You aren’t a parent, nor a teacher, what are you doing here?” Jeongin warily watched you approach, narrowly avoiding the little kids running through your path.
“I need your help.” You said solemnly.
“How did you know I was doing work experience at the daycare?” Jeongin raised an eyebrow sceptically.
“Believe it or not, Seungmin can be extremely candid and direct when Jisung is harassing him on the other side of a phone call. Also, you’re working towards your teaching degree. It doesn’t seem too weird that you’re working at a daycare.” You noted, taking in your surroundings.
“Oh, alright. What can I help you with?” Jeongin said reluctantly.
“I need you to dress up like an old businessman and pretend to be my lawyer.” You said quickly, thrusting a back-rubbing cane into his hands before getting ready to bolt.
“Wait! Why?” Jeongin looked at you sceptically yet again.
You sighed,
“Look, I need Jisung to think it’s the real deal, otherwise...” You stopped, squinting at the two figures attempting to act casual outside the daycare.
“Oh my god, are they spying on us?”
“It was most definitely Jisung’s idea.” Jeongin joined you, staring as Jisung attempted to casually lean against a car, trying to converse with a stony-faced Seungmin, not long before setting off the car alarm and yelling at Seungmin to run.
You watched the two of them take off,
“Looks like we’ll need to up our game, Mr Yang. Or should I say... Prosecutor Yang?” You smiled pleadingly at him.
“Fine...”
Tumblr media
“Let me get this straight, we’re spying on them now even though this whole lawsuit thing isn’t actually going to happen?” Jeongin asked, bringing his jacket closer to him as he entered the University café.
“Well, it’s not like we can’t put any effort in because then we’d be admitting defeat to this... joke? Regardless, we need to win.” You pushed your cap further down after nodding at Chan in acknowledgment.
You sat down in a secluded area of the café, Chan approaching to greet you,
“Why is it always that chaos is brought to this café by this friendship group?” Chan looked pointedly at Jeongin as he shrugged.
“How do you know that shenanigans are to take place? Can’t we just enjoy our coffee in a secluded area of the cafe in our spy clothes without suspicion?” You asked, slightly defensive.
“...no. Anyway, what can I get for your spy mission?” Chan asked, eyes glinting with amusement.
“I’ll have an iced americano.” Jeongin.
“And I’ll have a—“ you broke off as Chan interrupted you,
“New York Cheesecake? I know. Jisung and you come here to get some like every Friday. Speaking of Jisung, why are you sitting over here instead of with them over there?” He pointed to the two boys huddled at the table, Seungmin slightly bored, checking his phone regularly, and Jisung talking animatedly to him. Jisung, noticing Seungmin’s disinterest, grabbed his phone, getting up and placing it in the trash can before heading back to a very much annoyed Seungmin.
“It’s... a long story. Very chaotic! You probably wouldn’t want to hear it.” You ushered Chan away, Jeongin looked at you smugly,
“You and Jisung, huh? It’s almost as if you were... soulmates. Now I think I know why you need my help.”
You scoffed,
“I don’t need your help.”
“Oh really? Then I guess I’ll get going—“ You pulled him back into his seat, the chair scraping as it was pulled erratically from both directions. The commotion caused Jisung and Seungmin to pause, looking at you two, eyes widening in recognition.
You looked at Jeongin, panicked, before throwing the money at a stunned Chan and rushing out of the cafe.
“Don’t give my cheesecake to Jisung! We both know that he’ll eat it instead of giving it to me.”
Tumblr media
[09:38] (Jeongin) Hey, make sure you come on time.
[09:40] (You) Why do we have to go to the shops for this?
[09:41] (Jeongin) sadly the courts were all booked out with proper criminal cases, so the shops will have to do to resolve this fake lawsuit. just get ready and come quickly!
[09:43] (You) fine, fine. I’ll get my finest attire on. See you soon.
You placed your phone on your bed before dressing up to the best of your ability, steeling yourself as you looked in the mirror,
I will tell him how I feel... no matter how complicated this lawsuit thing becomes.
Tumblr media
“Look who finally decided to show.” Jisung drawled, sipping at his soft drink. You looked him up and down appraisingly, ignoring your beating heart... he cleaned up more than nicely.
“Okay, shall we get started?” You clapped your hands, sitting opposite Seungmin and Jisung... and next to a very poorly disguised Jeongin.
“Interesting outfit choice, Jeongin.” Seungmin noted.
“What’s even more interesting is that Y/N selected Jeongin as her representative. He’s not even a lawyer!” Jisung looked at you triumphantly.
“Neither am—“ Seungmin interrupted, Jisung shushing him before he could complete his sentence.
“I thought you were going to dress up like a business man! Not some young mobster. This isn’t a fanfic. You’re not the main character.” You hissed under your breath, leaning slightly towards Jeongin so he could hear.
“And what? You are?” He scoffed, before smiling widely at the two in front of him.
“Right, so Jeongin and I have discussed the case beforehand.” Seungmin nodded at Jeongin.
“We’ve decided that we’ll put together a bunch of trials, and whoever wins those will win this lawsuit.” Seungmin proposed.
“I... feel like this isn’t how lawsuits work.” Jisung said doubtfully.
“This is what I was taught in law school!” Seungmin defended.
“Gotta trust the guy who attended law school.” You pointed out.
“What do you mean attended? He’s still at law—“ Jisung broke off as Seungmin cleared his throat, pointedly.
“The first challenge being, who can make the two of us the best milkshake.”
“Ready to lose, Y/N?” Jisung raised an eyebrow competitively at you.
“You wish, Han Jisung!” You sprinted to the other side of the food court, lining up as Jisung hurried after you, ending up directly behind you.
Tumblr media
[20 minutes later]
You sighed loudly,
This is taking too long.
You politely pushed in front of people to the front of the line,
“Hey, are you guys right or do you need help? Because I can help out if you want. It’ll help you get through this queue a lot faster.” You asked the worker at the register.
“I can too!” Jisung sidled up beside you as you narrowed your eyes at him.
The worker looked at you sceptically before sighing in defeat,
“You know what, you may as well help because we’re so swamped. Grab some gloves and a hairnet and get started.” The worker let you through.
That was easy enough.
Tumblr media
This is not easy.
“Chocolate ice cream thick shake for Sara!” You called out, frantically pushing the lid on the shake before handing it to the customer. Jisung rushed beside you,
“No-fat, non-skim, skinny latte with soy milk, one and a half sugars and a drizzle of vanilla for Jacques?” Jisung called out,
“Actually, can I change my—“ Jacques started.
“No.” Jisung deadpanned.
“Ready to admit defeat?” You smirked.
“Never. We’re yet to make the best milkshakes for Seungmin and Jeongin.” Jisung ran to the blender, chucking in as many ingredients as possible.
“Two can play at that game.” You said resolutely, approaching another blender, using as many ingredients as possible.
This is either going to be a disaster or a five star Michelin dish in the making.
Tumblr media
“Stop. Stealing. The. Caramel. Sauce.” You gave Jisung a death glare as you wrestled the sauce bottle, the manager of the store glaring at the both of you,
“Alright, that’s enough. The two of you need to leave. You basically ditched serving the customers and did this. I don’t even know what this is but you need to stop using our resources for it.”
“Wait but it’s the finishing touch!” Jisung pleaded as the manager shook his head resolutely.
You scoffed,
“Whatever. It’s not like we’re getting paid for this or anything. Which we should! In fact, I have a lawyer friend that could help me sue you. He’s very good and wins about... 100% of his clients’ cases.” You threatened.
The manager pinched the bridge of his nose,
“Half of the orders that you served came back with complaints so you really did nothing.”
“The people really don’t appreciate our talents.” Jisung gasped, offended.
“If you guys think you’re talents are in milkshake making, you really should reevaluate your...um...life choices.” The manager said sheepishly.
“Whatever, be prepared for a lawsuit! Let’s leave, Jisung.” You grabbed your milkshakes, grabbing Jisung’s arm and dragging him out of the store.
“100% track rate, you say? Have you admitted defeat already?” Jisung raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, shut up, Jisung. I was obviously talking about Jeongin.”
“Right...”
Tumblr media
“Um. What is this?” Seungmin scrunched his face in disgust, looking at the... mess of two drinks in front of him and Jeongin.
“Milkshakes!” Jisung said excitedly.
“I know that. But why did it take so long to make... you didn’t poison it, did you?” Seungmin looked at the two of you skeptically.
“Just drink it and tell us who wins.” You sighed as they picked up their drinks, tentatively sipping and then tasting the other,
“We need time to confer, so we’re going to give you the next challenge. You’re going to have to... pick out the best present for each other, and we’ll judge that once we see it.” Jeongin shooed the two of you away, winking at you as Jisung took the lead, striding towards a craft store.
Tumblr media
As you browsed around the store, closely following Jisung, you stopped at the crayons section, exhaling a small laugh.
Jisung turned around, confused, eyes wide, settling on the packet of crayons,
“I dibs getting that for you.”
“You can’t dibs getting a present for someone.” You said incredulously.
“Um, well if it’s a competition, yes I can.” Jisung retorted, hands on hips.
“So you’re telling me, that the best present you could ever get me is crayons? You wouldn’t get that for me normally?” You rolled your eyes, exasperated.
“Why should I?” Jisung said, confused.
“Let me remind you. Twenty or so years ago, a young Jisung eats my crayons in retaliation for getting told to give them back. Young Y/N visits young Jisung in hospital, giving him a free record as a gift. And Jisung never reimburses Y/N with another set of crayons. You know, with your track record, it’s not even accidental. It’s serial. Like serial killing but serial property damage. Honestly, I could extend that to this lawsuit, as well.” You defended.
“Okay one, it’s too late to do that... isn’t it? I don’t have enough money for both! And two, is all you’re saying that your ideal gift is a pack of crayons?!”
“Are you admitting defeat already?” You smirked.
“Pfft no! Give me— that—“ He grabbed the pack of crayons from you, heading to the counter to pay as you grabbed another pack, lining up behind him.
Tumblr media
“You both bought each other the same gift?” Seungmin raised an eyebrow at the two of you.
“Not intentionally! Please don’t disqualify us.” Jisung defended, apologetic.
“You literally went to the same store.” Jeongin deadpanned.
“That’s—“
“Whatever, I don’t have time for this. I need to go to the hospital in a bit. Okay, here’s what you can do. Explain to us why you bought the gift for said person, and we’ll judge based on your response.” Seungmin checked his watch, leaning back in his chair.
“Jisung, you go first.” Jeongin gestured for Jisung to start.
“Okay, well the short story is that Y/N told me that it was their ideal gift. The long story is that Y/N called me a serial property damager, and I really can’t afford that being added to my list of offences and be sued further.” Jisung said a matter-of-factly.
“Oookay... anyway, Y/N! What’s your reasoning?” Seungmin turned to you.
“Hmm... okay well when I was a child, Jisung stole my crayons and ate them, somehow we became friends, and he never bought me crayons to reimburse me, so I decided to be the bigger person and buy him crayons to share. Honestly, you’d think he’d know how to by now.” You tutted as a soft pink colouring flooded Jisung’s cheeks.
“...what?” Jeongin blurted out.
“It doesn’t matter! Jisung and Y/N are both... odd personalities. I mean, no wonder they’re best friends.” Seungmin dismissed.
There was that “f” word again...
“Anyway, I don’t have time for this. We’ll deliberate again as you do another challenge. You’re going to have to race each other around the entire shopping centre. Whoever comes first, wins... that round. Obviously. Otherwise, there would’ve been no point to these other challenges.” Seungmin dismissed the two of you, getting you to start at the same time.
Is this what my life has come to? Racing the literal love of my life to show that I’m serious about a fake lawsuit?... I really need to reconsider my lifestyle choices... and friends.
Tumblr media
You and Jisung were neck and neck, you huffed as you sprinted next to him,
“Why are you so caught up on this whole lawsuit thing? You and I both know that it’s fake.”
Jisung glanced at you through the corner of his eye, “Hff— I— hff— know that but fake lawsuit or not, it was one of my New Years resolutions to win it.”
You stopped,
“You can’t be serious.”
“Dead serious.” He stopped in front of you.
“Well— I... who am I to stop you from achieving your goals? I forfeit.” You stepped back, relieved to be out of it.
“You can’t be serious,” Jisung said, slightly shocked,
“I need you to finish this! I can’t just win by default. That defeats the whole purpose. Actually try.” He challenged.
“This is so stupid, though.” You grumbled.
“You’re the one that proposed it. Why did you, if you don’t want to do it?” Jisung raised an eyebrow expectantly.
“I— ugh. To be honest, it started out as a joke but then I saw how serious you got about it! So, I decided to play along so I wouldn’t let you down.” You sighed.
“You’re right, I paid Seungmin $100 to represent me.” He sighed in sync with you.
“...you really need to stop doing that. First Minho, now Seungmin? Are you going to pay the entirety of your friendship group for being your friend?” You looked at him disappointedly.
He rolled his eyes, “Speaking of friends... why did you play along?” He asked, curious.
You inhaled sharply,
Now or never. No more friend-zoning.
“Do you know what my New Years resolution was?” You asked.
He shook his head, clueless,
“It was to confess my feelings for you. I’m not as great with words as you are, but Han Jisung, I like you. A lot. Even if you do crazy things like eating my crayons.” You closed your eyes, unwilling to view his reaction... only for a slight pressure to meet your lips.
Your eyes fluttered open, only to meet Jisung’s as he kissed you softly.
He pulled back, bringing you into a hug,
“You’re always going to hold that against me, aren’t you?” He chuckled, whispering that to you.
“We just kissed and that’s what you’re concerned about?” You lightly smacked his chest.
“Well, what else am I supposed to say? I kissed you. I don’t think that best friends do that. Do I need to say it explicitly? Okay then, I like you too!” He said, confused.
You rolled your eyes,
“Whatever. We better get going if we want to finish this race, and help you achieve your life goals!”
“Oh my gosh, Y/N. You’re such a supportive... lover? We’ll figure it out.” He held out your hand, dodging past people as you both sprinted down the mall.
You slowed as you approached Seungmin and Jeongin, dropping your hand from his grasp. Jisung turned back to you, confused.
You ushered him forward, smiling encouragingly,
“Go! Finish first. Achieve your goals.”
He paused, before taking your hand again, dragging you over to Seungmin and Jeongin, they looked up, equally as confused as you.
“We both forfeit.” He said, in between catching his breath.
“What? Why?” Jeongin started, as Seungmin groaned,
“You’re telling me, that I spent the time that I could’ve been sleeping, only for you to forfeit. You know what? It’s fine. Neither of you won anyway because drinking your milkshakes was the worst thing we had to suffer through since the time you both made us cake!”
You reeled back in mock offence, Seungmin sighed,
“I’m sorry if that was harsh. I’m working nights at the hospital.”
“Wait. What does a lawyer have to do at a hospital?” Jisung questioned, confused.
“Do— do you guys even listen to the things I say? I quit law school after one lesson and went back to medical school.” Seungmin said, exasperated.
“And no! You can’t have your money back. We’re leaving now anyway, so bye!” He grabbed Jeongin, running away from the two of you as fast as possible.
“You know, I lied about my New Years resolution.” Jisung spun you around to face him, your hand meeting his bicep.
“Oh no! How could I ever trust you again?” You sighed dramatically.
“Y/N— I was trying to be sentimental and tell you that our resolutions were the same but you ruined the moment!” He pouted, annoyed.
You laughed, grabbing his cheeks (jeekies ahhhhhhhhh they’re so cute right—),
“I’ll sue you if you don’t stop being so cute!”
“Ha! I’d like to see you try.”

Little Librarian
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyunjin hadn’t stepped foot in a library since he was six. He hated reading, he especially hated being forced to read. Now here he was in the campus library looking for a book he had to do a book report about. Normally Hyunjin would skip an assignment like this all together, but his stupid professor went a made it worth 50 percent of his grade. As he walked into the library everyone in the front building did a double take, the Hwang Hyunjin was in the library, what kind of parallel universe were they in. He ignored the stares coming his way and disappeared down an aisle to begin the hunt for his book. In all honesty he had no idea where to look, but it had to be here some where right?
Hyunjin felt like he had been looking for the stupid book for hours, it had been ten minutes. He huffed in annoyance, letting out a long groan. This caught the attention of someone on the next aisle over. “Hi” a small voice chirped out from the end of the aisle. Hyunjin jumped a little, not expecting anyone to come bother him. The person stepped down the aisle and soon stood in front of him. She’s cute, he thought to himself, and had he not been so annoyed with trying to fine this book, he would’ve told her that, give her a smirk that always makes girls fall at his feet.
“Do you need help finding something” "Uh- yeah, I’m looking for Pride and Prejudice.” The girl smiled and nodded, “well you’re kinda on the wrong side of the library. Come on, I’ll show you where it is.” Hyunjin followed, not being able to take his eyes off her. She wasn’t stutter over her words or looking at him as if he hung all the stars in the sky, did she not know who he was? “Here you go” she said as she handed the boy one of many copies of the book. “Thank you” “no problem, this is for Mr.Kin’s class, yeah?” “Yeah- wait are you in his class” “yeah, as much as I love reading, I am not looking forward to this book report” “well I hate reading, so you’re one step ahead of me.” She let out a soft giggle and Hyunjin felt himself smile. Her little giggle was adorable, like- “Y/n, can you put these books away for me,” an older lady’s voice snapped his out of his thoughts. “Yes ma’am, I got it” the girl in front of him replied. Y/n, cute name. “thank you sweetheart.” Y/n nodded and turned back to Hyunjin, “well good luck with your book report” she said before going off to put some books away. Hyunjin stood there for a minute, god she was cute, why didn’t I ask for her number, wait- what if she really doesn’t know who I am, she doesn’t know my name. Hyunjin’s mind would not shut up from the time that he checked out his book to when he got back to his dorm, his thoughts were filled with the cute little librarian that had helped him today.
--- ---
“Yo, why do you have that stupid look on your face” Changbin asked as he sat across from Hyunjin. “My face isn’t stupid” Hyunjin mumbled, not really paying attention to the boy in front of him. Eventually the whole table was filled with his friends, they all had noticed Hyunjin was acting different. “Dude- hello” Jisung waved his hand in front of Hyunjin’s face, making the boy snap out of his daze. He was looking for the girl he had met yesterday, hoping that he could catch her at lunch, but no luck. “What” Hyunjin grumbled as he looked over at his friend. ”Seriously dude, what’s got you all messed up” Hyunjin couldn’t tell them about Y/n, he didn’t need his friends all over her- “This stupid book report for Mr.Kin” -so he lied. Jisung nodded in understanding, seemingly buying it. “I’m not looking forward to that at all- you think I can pay Wonwoo to do it” “Wonwoo would be your ass dude” Minho snorted as he continued eating his food. As Jisung and Minho argued about who would win in a fight, Hyunjin’s mind drifted back to Y/n, why couldn’t he get her out of his head?
--- ---
Walking into Mr.Kin’s class, Y/n took her usual seat in the middle row. Today was just like every other day, except, she couldn’t get this boy out of her head. A boy she’d never seen before yesterday had been flooding her thoughts all day. He was cute, like really cute, and despite not saying much, he seemed nice. She tried to pretend he was like a hot stranger at a store, someone she would never see again- wait, was that him? He leisurely walked into class, hands in his pockets, hair perfectly framing his face. He was with Han Jisung, her roommates ex boyfriend. Quickly diverting her attention, she buried her head into the book she was meant to be reading.
Hyunjin felt eyes on him as soon as he walked in, which wasn’t new to him at all, but something felt different. Ignoring whatever Jisung was saying, he turned to where he felt the eyes on his back- There she was, but she wasn’t looking at him. “- I think she wants to get back with me, for real this time too- hey, dude” Hyunjin wanted so badly to ignore him and go sit next to the little librarian he met yesterday, but knowing his friends, he couldn’t. “Yeah I heard you, and I think you’re crazy, no one would ever want your dumbass back” Hyunjin said as he started making his way to the back of the class. “Hey, don’t be a dick.”
The entire class period, Hyunjin’s eyes were on her, watching the way she wrote so delicately on her paper, watching her play with her hair or pick at her nails. He was so distracted by her, he didn’t even realize class was over until Jisung slapped his back, telling him is was time to go. Hyunjin took one last look in Y/n’s direction, but she was gone. With a heavy sigh, Hyunjin grabbed his stuff and headed out.
--- ---
For the second day in a row Hyunjin walked into the library, this time with a different goal- ask out the little librarian. He made his way down a few different isles, hoping to find her without seeming to obvious. He felt awkward and out of place, he never did things like this. He was always the one being chased, not the one chasing. Why was he chasing? He’d been asking himself that question all day, why was she so special?
His thoughts were cut short when he spotted her small frame making her way down a ladder. Slowly, he walked over to her, leaning up against the book cart as his hand gently reached out to hold the latter still.
She felt his presence as soon as he started walking her way. Something about the vibe he put out was just hard to ignore, he was so interesting to her. After reaching the bottom of the latter, she looked up at him, her head tilted in confusion. “Thank you” “no problem” “so uh- do you need help” “kind of” “why don’t you tell me what you need and maybe I can help you out” she said as she leaned up against the ladder, still looking up at him. He felt his heart flutter at her response, something about her man. “Well, I was hoping you’d let me take you out” “a strange man asking me out on a date, I don’t know” she joked. She was trying to play it cool, but she couldn’t deny the butterflies in the stomach when he smiled at her. “I’m not strange” “how do I know that though, I don’t even know your name.” Hyunjin tried to hold back his surprise at her response, she really didn’t know who he was. Something about that was so refreshing. “I’m Hyunjin” “nice to meet you Hyunjin, I’m Y/n” “so...” “so... I’ll think about it” “oh come on.” Hyunjin all but whined, his body subconsciously moving closer as he pouted down at her. “We can go to a cafe on campus until you decided if you trust me or night.” She thought about it, he was really trying, and he was being considerate- something her pervious boyfriends weren’t. Biting her lip gently, she looked up into his hopeful eyes and nodded, “fine, I’ll go out with you.” “Yes” he cheered, doing the little air punch thingy which made Y/n giggle. However, the head librarian didn’t find it so funny, shushing the boy with a scowl on her face. He mumbled a quickly apology before looking back at Y/n, who had the most adorable smile on her face, at least he thought so. “Give me your number”
--   --
Today was the day of their date, a Saturday, the one day Y/n didn’t have work. Y/n was actually excited, she hadn’t been on a date in a long time, it also helped that her date was extremely handsome and from what she could tell so far, nice. As she got ready, her roommate, Soojin, came in, bugging her and asking her about all the details. “Who is he” “Where are you going” “is he cute” all the standard questions you ask when a friend has a date. “Hwang Hyunjin- You’re going out with him?” “Yes? What’s wrong with him” “he’s Jisung’s friend, all of Jisungs friends are assholes” “I don’t know, he’s nice” “Y/n, I love you, but none of those guys are nice. They only want one thing” Y/n sighed, shaking her head lightly. One day, she just wanted one day where she wasn’t constantly reminded of how shitty men could be. She knew, god she knew. But Hyunjin seemed genuinely nice, she wanted to just forget about everything she knew men could be and just give him a shot. “I’m saying this cause I want you to be careful, not because I don’t want you to have fun. You just trust people to easily” “I know, but I’d rather see the good in people rather than the bad, it makes life so... gruesome” “look at you, using your big girl words” Soojin teased as she poked Y/n’s cheek. Y/n just giggled, pushing her hand away and continued to get ready.
Hyunjin sat at the cafe, waiting for Y/n to show up. He was nervous, genuinely nervous, and he had no clue why. He can’t remember the last time he was nervous like this and he didn’t like it. His stomach was in knots, his palms were sweaty, what if she didn’t show? Hyunjin’s mind would not shut up. Until she walked in. His eyes landed on her and all nerves dissipated into nothing. The way her face lit up when she saw him made his heart melt, it even brought a smile to his own face.
“Hey, I ordered you a hot chocolate... cause I remembered you saying that you didn’t really like coffee when we were texting- I hope that’s okay” Hyunjin wanted to throw himself under a bridge, he felt like a complete idiot rambling like this, but he quite literally couldn’t help it. Y/n on the other hand, she felt like her heart was going to explode, as small as it may have been, no one ever remembered small things about her, her likes and dislikes, it was endearing. “That’s perfect actually” she reassured him with a smile. Y/n took a seat across from Hyunjin, the two of them falling into natural conversation. It shocked the both of them how easily they could talk to each other and not run out of things to say.
By the time the drinks arrived, the two were talking about class and the book report. “I haven’t even started reading the book” he admitted sheepishly while rubbing the back of his neck. “Maybe we could read it together” she suggested, this caught Hyunjin of guard. She wanted to see him again? This had never shocked him before when it was literally anyone else, but something about her wanting to spend more time with him made him really happy. “Really, aren’t you like, halfway done with it” “nope” she lied. She had already finished it, but she wasn’t about to tell him that. She wanted to spend more time with him, even if it was for some dumb book report. “so what, we’re just gonna read to each other” “I mean, we could.” God, she literally could not get more perfect.
The continued talking until they finished their drinks, neither of them wanted to leave just yet, but they knew they’d be kicked out soon if they weren’t drinking or eating anything. Hyunjin sat there for a good minute, just staring at his lap while he worked up the courage to ask, “can I walk you home?” Did that actually come out of his mouth? Why did he sound like that- “I’d love that.”
The walk was silent for a good portion of it, hands awkwardly dangling beside one another incase on of them got the courage to hold the others hand. “So, why the library” “what do you mean” “I mean, there’s so many places to work around here” “well, I don’t really like the chaos of the shops around here, it’s kinda overwhelming. The library is nice and quite- I don’t know I guess I just prefer things lowkey.” Hyunjin nodded, not completely understanding, and Y/n laughed to herself, “what” he asked, “you think I’m some weird loner” “No- no I just- I parties and chaos, so I guess I just kinda don’t under stand” Y/n nodded, s small ‘ah’ leaving her lips. “What, now you you think I’m a stereotypical frat boy” “just a little.” Hyunjin rolled his eyes playfully, trying to suppress a smile when he heard her laugh.
A few more minutes of walking and they had finally arrived at Y/n’s apartment. The two of them just stood there for a moment, not really wanting to leave one another. It was easy between them so far, how the conversation flowed, how easy it was to poke fun at one another. “Um- thank you for today” “no problem, I had a lot of fun” “me too” “we still on to study together” he asked, he took a small step towards her as she nodded, his heart picking up when he looked into her eyes and saw the way the sparkled  as they met his. “You’re beautiful” he whispered out, shocking Y/n. “wha-” “Can I kiss you?” Y/n’s body seemed to have a mind of it’s own before she was nodding her head without a second thought. His lips planted on hers, giving a small, gentle kiss, but it wasn’t enough. As soon as they parted, the two looked in eachother’s eyes and before they knew it their lips where connected once more. This kiss was much more passionate, but it was also just as gentle and sweet as the first one. Y/n had her hands on his chest while his hands cupped her face to pull her closer. The kiss gave both of them this comfort and odd sense of familiarity. Hyunjin was addicted to her lips, so much so he didn’t even want to come up for air, but he did. The two broke away from the kiss and Hyunjin looked down at Y/n, her eyes stilled closed and her lips swollen, a blissed out look on her face made his heart swell. He wanted to see her like this all the time.
--   --
The next few days were filled with text and facetime calls, calls that Y/n’s roommate often complained about. Hyunjin felt himself falling hard and it scared him. He’d never actually seen a relationship work out, his parents are divorced, along with his aunt and uncles, and his friends would rather be apart of hookup culture than actually try to commit to anything and somewhere along the way Hyunjin fell into that too. But he really liked Y/n, and he wanted to try to make things work despite how scary it was.
He walked into class with Jisung liked he usually did. This time his eyes scanning around the room for Y/n, and he wasn’t even going to try to hide it. When he saw her a large smile took over his face, “what’s with your face” Jisung asked and Hyunjin simply ignored him, making his way over to Y/n. “This seat taken?” Y/n looked up and a smiled busted out across her face, “I don’t know, I’m kinda saving it for this guy” “really? Well he’ll get over it.” Y/n laughed as Hyunjin quickly plopped down into the seat next to her, turning to face her with a smile once her was situated. “You’re ridiculous” “you obviously like that though.” Jisung stood there for a minute, confused as to why he just got left alone. He looked at Hyunjin and then to you. “What? When did this happen” he mumbled to himself as he made his way to his seat.
When class was over Hyunjin was ready to walk Y/n to her next class, but JIsung’s hand on his shoulder stopped him. “Thanks for leaving me today man” “anytime” Hyunjin replied back with a sarcastic smile. “Anyways, hi Y/n, when did you and Hyunjinnie here start hooking up” “hm?” Hyunjin looked at Jisung and prayed to whatever there was above to get him to shut up. “Ah you haven’t gotten there yet, my bad” “I’m sorry, I’m confused?” Hyunjin grabbed the back of Jisungs neck and puleld him away from Y/n, “dude, stop talking.” “What man, you expect me to believe that the Hwang Hyunjin has finally decided to settle down? Not a chance.” Y/n nodded to herself, remembering the words Soojin had told her before she went on her date with Hyunjin. “none of those guys are nice. They only want one thing” “right” she mumbled to herself walking away unnoticed while Hyunjin was trying to get Jisung to shut up. “Seriously, you’re acting like you actually like her” “did you ever stop to think that maybe I do?” Jisung just looked at Hyunjin confused, what the hell was he talking about? “Seriously?” “Yes dipshit, seriously” “why didn’t you say anything” “cause I knew one of you guys would do something like this.” Jisung, suddenly feeling bad, turned to apologize, “Y/n I- well shit” Hyunjin turned to where Y/n was just standing and his heart dropped. “Hyunjin I’m so sorry-” “just- shut up right now okay?” Hyunjin quickly pulled out his phone to text Y/n.
-- --
Three days later and Hyunjin still hadn’t heard anything from Y/n, he had half the mind to go over to her house if Seungmin hadn’t stopped him and told him to think. “Do you really think she wants to see you right now?” No, of course she didn’t, but how was he just supposed to sit there knowing that you were in your head thinking the worst of him.
Y/n sat in her room for those three days, trying to figure why is hurt so bad. She had only been talking to him for a little over a week, it should hurt this bad. Soojin tried to comfort her but her comfort was “I told you he wasn’t good enough for you.” Yeah that really didn’t help. The amount of times she had typed a message to him and deleted it was insane. The only thing that kept her mind off of it was school, work didn’t help much seeing it was the place she met him. “You just trust people to easily” Why? After everything she had been through how could she still trust people with such ease? Y/n didn’t want to be this little girl people could walk all over, but she didn’t want to shut everyone out either. But she was so tired of hurting. Her phone went off, snapping her out of her thoughts. She grabbed it and saw Hyunjin’s name on the screen. Why hadn’t she blocked him yet? She couldn’t bring herself to do it, she wanted an explanation from him, she just wasn’t ready.
Hyunjin threw his phone onto his bed after he had been sent to voicemail again. “Fuck this shit” he mumbled. He quickly stood up, tossing on a jacket and shoes. “Where are you going” “Y/n’s place” “Hyunjin-” “shut up” was all he said as he let the door slam behind him. Why was he going to listen to them, they had never been in serious relationship, he was pretty sure none of them have even had feelings for a girl. So he was going to do this his way, and he was going to get Y/n back.
“She doesn’t want to see you” Soojin said as soon as she saw Hyunjin at the door. “Soojin- Soojin wait! Five minutes, that’s all I need, please let me talk to her.” Maybe it was his pleading tone or his disheveled appearance or maybe even a small hope that he could make things better, but she let him in. “Five minutes” she stated, “thank you.”
A knock on Y/n’s door had her groaning, she was not in the mood for another movie night with Soojin. “Go away” she called out as she buried her head in her pillow, “I can’t do that.” Y/n’s head snapped up as she turned toward her door. “What are you doing here” she asked cautiously as she sat up. “I want to talk to you” “I don’t want to talk to you” “I deserve that, but please, let me explain.” All she did was nod, she knew that if she talked anymore that her voice would crack and tears would start flowing again. “Y/n I like you, like a lot. And before you say I dont- I do. I’ve never been in a relationship before, so I don’t know how that shit works, and to be honest it scares the hell out of me. But I was ready to try to figure it out with you.” “But Jisung-” “Jisung has no idea what he’s talking about- if I was just trying hook up with you, would I be here right now, trying to get you to forgive me.” Y/n looked up at him, tears in her eyes as she sniffled, “depends on how determined you are” she joked, letting out a soft laugh. Hyunjin just shook his head and pulled her into his check, “you are something else you know that.” He whispered as he held her tightly.
“Hyunjin” “hm?” “I need you to promise me one thing” “anything” “if we do decided to give us a shot, we need to talk to eachother- I know I’m one to talk but... please, I don’t want to go through this again.” Hyunjin pulled back, holding Y/n’s face in his hands as he spoke, “I can promise that and if you give me a chance, I will never do anything to hurt you- ever.” Y/n nodded, quickly burring herself into his chest, the intensity in his eyes making her face heat up. “I like you too” she mumbled into his chest.

“School Life:” A Hoodie Season AU Prequel
F/M Pairing: Y/N x Hwang Hyunjin (SKZ)
Genre: Married Life AU (Hoodie Season Prequel)
Word Count: 3K
Warnings: Mild Language
Summary: When Y/N is hired as the librarian at her former high school, she isn’t exactly thrilled to return. Of course, there’s also the issue of the persistent dance teacher who seems determined to win her affections.
Tumblr media
Here’s a funny story: imagine promising yourself that you’d attend college, nail an awesome degree, and then find a job making six figures on an annual basis, only to return home with a teaching license to work at the same school that you attended when you were 16 while making less than acceptable.
Yeah, life had a funny way of making a joke out of itself, and the punch line is never really that good.
But there wasn’t time for me to complain about my prospects since I had been unemployed for six months with a lousy degree in literature that led to absolutely nothing. In desperate times, we’re often forced to do things that we hate, and I was certainly disenchanted with the idea of working in a high school library surrounded by horny and immature devils all the time.
“Good morning, Y/N!”
Oh, and I also had to deal with one of the most annoyingly persistent men on a regular basis. “What do you want, Hyunjin?”
Despite my dismissive tone, Hyunjin still leaned in across the check-out counter, and I could feel his eyes staring at my ass. “It’s my free period.”
“And?”
“And...you should come have coffee with me,” Hyunjin said, and I finally turned around to endure his flirtatious smile. It had only been two months since the start of the semester, and a grand total of two weeks since Hyunjin had first started trying his luck with me. But I was beginning to think that he didn’t know how to take a hint.
“I’m busy with paperwork,” I said, ignoring his crestfallen expression. However, in my defense, I wasn’t looking for a relationship, and I was far too preoccupied with my own self-loathing to entertain his advances.
“Again?” he pouted, giving me a look that I’m sure won the heart of any girl that he had the chance to impress.
It was too bad that they didn’t work on me.
“Bye, Hyunjin,” I said, giving him a cheeky smile before disappearing into my office.
Tumblr media
The next morning, I noticed that Bang Chan, one of the upperclassman teachers, had arranged to pick up some books for his students. It required some set-up on my end with the computer system, and I was completing the necessary paperwork when Chan walked into the library. “Good morning, Y/N,” he said with a pleasant smile.
“Mr. Bang,” I greeted him in return. “I brought an empty cart for your request.”
“Perfect!” Chan smiled, walking around the counter to pull the cart towards the surrounding bookshelves.
I watched him from the corner of my eye while inputting the final codes for my spreadsheet. “Is this for a class project?”
Chan lifted his head from where he was examining a nearby book display. “Oh! Yeah, the kids like it when we do this kind of stuff. Well, I mean, they don’t like reading so much, but it’s better than tests.”
I nodded my head because I could certainly appreciate that considering some of the more stringent high school examinations that I recalled from my teenage years. “The school wants me to read you this long and boring list of protocols after you check-out something.”
“Yeah...” Chan trailed off with a chuckle. “Do you want to do it now...or?”
I grinned, closing out one of the tabs on my computer screen before joining Chan by the bookshelves. This close, I could appreciate the subtle scent of his cologne and his easygoing smile. “I think we can just skip it,” I said, raising a brow. “I’m sure you’ve heard it before.”
“You’ll let me off easy, Y/N?” Chan asked, turning around with a knowing look and I reveled in our simple flirtation.
“Since you’ve been so nice,” I said, breaking off when I heard the door to the library open again.
“There you are!” Hyunjin announced his presence, waltzing over to the two of us without a single care in the entire world. “How can I last all day without seeing this smile?”
I sighed when said smile disappeared. “What did you do before I came here?”
“It was a lonely workplace,” Hyunjin said, and I noticed the way that he had positioned himself between me and Chan.
“Anyway,” Chan continued, attempting to speak over Hyunjin despite his unexpected presence. “As a thank you, Y/N, would you like to come to the school’s basketball game this Friday? I coach the men’s team, and we’re undefeated this year.”
“Really?” I asked.
“Oh, it’s basically a tradition,” Hyunjin intervened, sending Chan a look. “The boys love the support from their teachers.”
“But Hyunjin, you don’t even-”
“You’ll come, right?” Hyunjin asked, interrupting Chan’s train of thought. In return, the older man merely shrugged before occupying himself with the task of stacking the books that he required onto the cart.
I studied Hyunjin’s beaming expression because, in all honesty, it was one of the very last things that I wanted to do, but it seemed unusually important - which meant that a small part of me was quite curious. “I guess I can try and clear some time,” I said with a shrug.
Hyunjin’s smile was impossibly large, and he leaned against Chan’s cart like he wanted to look as cool and laid-back as possible. “You know, Y/N,” he started. “I think you and I share a lot in common.”
“I doubt that,” I said with a tense smile.
“We both care a lot about our students,” Hyunjin said, and I tried not to laugh because Hyunjin couldn’t begin to imagine just how much I didn’t want this particular job on my resume. “We’re also good-looking people.”
The comment was shallow, and I didn’t feel that impressed by his attempt to compliment me. Meanwhile, Chan snorted around a laugh as he pushed his cart back, nearly sending Hyunjin sprawling into the floor. “I have things to do,” Chan said, excusing himself politely while a flustered Hyunjin tried to play off his decidedly uncool moment.
“If only your students were around to see this...” I trailed off with a distracted sigh, leaving Hyunjin behind spluttering out nonsensical words while I returned to the sanctity of my private office.
Tumblr media
On Friday night, I parked my car near the back of the school before entering the loud and unusually crowded gymnasium where, for just a split second, I almost considered walking back out the door. It smelled like sweat and dirty laundry, and the bleachers looked uncomfortable, especially since everyone was forced to sit shoulder-to-shoulder. “What fresh hell is this?” I grumbled, shouldering off my jacket since I definitely wouldn’t need it.
I proceeded to walk around the proximity of the gym, searching for familiar faces. I spotted Chan standing on the sidelines with another teacher (Changbin, maybe?) before I realized that someone was calling my name from behind me. I turned around to greet Han Jisung, one of the Freshman English teachers, and he pointed to a section where I recognized several other staff members. “You can join us if you want,” Jisung said and I nodded my agreement.
He led us through the crowd of eager fans, keeping an eye on me as I teetered precariously on the old bleachers wearing high heels that I definitely regretted. But at the very top, I could see some familiar faces, including one that appeared far more eager than the rest. “Oh, Y/N,” Hyunjin said. “I’m glad to see you. It’s nice to have the teachers support our teams.”
“You never come to the basketball games,” Felix said, and Hyunjin shot him a silencing glare.
“What are you talking about, Felix?” Hyunjin asked with wide eyes. “I always support the school.”
“Sure,” Seungmin snorted as if he was simply placating Hyunjin’s obvious fabrication.
“Yeah, I heard it was something else,” I said, taking a seat next to Han before turning my attention to the game.
I wasn’t a big sports fan by any means, and I struggled to make sense of the chaos that included a bunch of teenage boys running up and down the court wearing their brightly-colored uniforms. Sometimes a whistle blew or the shot clock made a truly horrible sound when the buzzer went off to conclude the end of game-time. Otherwise, I felt utterly confused as I sat back and nodded when one of the other teachers surrounding me made a comment that I certainly didn’t understand.
When the game reached halftime, Hyunjin immediately stood up from his seat, starting down the staircase as he chanced a look back over his shoulder. “They have refreshments outside,” he said to me. “My treat?”
I placated him with a nod, following him into the slowly forming crowd attempting to migrate outside of the gymnasium where the smell of pizza and nachos was especially prominent. Hyunjin and I stood at the back of the line, and I swallowed down a feeling of claustrophobia. Meanwhile, I hadn’t noticed that Hyunjin was looking at me until he finally made his voice audible over the white noise of the surrounding crowd.
“I think we got off on the wrong foot,” Hyunjin said, giving me, what I assumed, was his best attempt at a humble expression. “I’m sorry if I’ve done something to offend you...”
“It’s not so much that,” I said. “But it’s tiresome to see you put so much effort into flirting with me.”
“Oh...” Hyunjin said, clearing his throat awkwardly, but he also seemed hurt by my admission. “I’m not, like, some kind of serial dater or something. I genuinely thought you were interesting when we met at the teacher’s conference for the first time.”
“You did?” I asked, studying this vulnerable version of Hyunjin with close scrutiny.
“Yeah.” He nodded, adjusting the beanie hugging the crown of his hairline. “I’m kinda bad at this type of thing, but you’re different from the others. I think you and I both know that’s not always a bad thing, and I was hoping that you might at least give me one tiny little chance at a date.”
I gave him my full attention then, and I found myself taken aback by the look of earnest interest reflecting back at me in warm swirls of brown. “Okay,” I said, deciding that it couldn’t possible hurt to give him an opportunity. “But do me a favor and at least have a better excuse the next time you come into the library,”
Hyunjin had the decency to blush, and I couldn’t help but smile as we took another step forward.
Tumblr media
It was Saturday evening when Hyunjin picked me up in front of my small apartment complex. I settled next to him in the front seat, smiling in his direction when he extended a tentative greeting. “How are you, Y/N?” he asked, and I was surprised to hear a hint of nervousness in his tone.
“I’m good,” I said. “But what’s this surprise all about, Hyunjin?”
“No spoilers,” Hyunjin said, and he seemed to regain some semblance of his former confidence as we drove down the crowded city streets in the direction of the main interstate.
“Well, I expect something classy since you made such a big deal about dressing up for the occasion,” I said, reaching down to smooth my hands along the hemline of my skirt.
“I don’t know much about you,” Hyunjin admitted. “But I had a friend give me some advice.”
“Dating advice?” I questioned, smirking in his direction. “You must not go on very many dates.”
“Not really,” Hyunjin remarked. “Despite what you might be thinking, it’s never been a big thing for me.”
I contemplated his words, watching as he drug his bottom lip between his teeth to worry the skin. “Why?”
“I don’t know,” Hyunjin said. “I guess I’m not very good at making connections with people. I’ve been told that I can come on too strong.”
I laughed at the honest assessment. “Maybe you just need more practice.”
“Yeah,” Hyunjin agreed. “But is that okay with you? I mean, now that you know that I don’t have any idea about what I’m doing.”
“I think it’s more exciting,” I told him. “It also explains why you’re flirting was so over the top at the beginning of the semester.”
Hyunjin groaned as if embarrassed by the reminder. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be,” I said, reaching across the console to take his willing hand. “If you were quiet, then we wouldn’t be here right now.”
Hyunjin let out a shaky exhale, studying me for a moment from the corner of his eye. “I want to make a better impression on you, Y/N.”
“Trust me,” I said with a smile. “The impression I already have of you is quite persuasive.”
Hyunjin nodded, and a comfortable silence proceeded before he fumbled with the buttons on the radio to allow some music to accompany the remainder of our drive together. It was something techno and upbeat - the kind of thing that just made sense to me because I knew that he was a dance teacher. But in any case, I only really started to pay attention when I noticed that we had somehow entered the more upscale part of the city.
Maybe Hyunjin was really doing his best to impress me.
“Here we are,” Hyunjin said, pulling into a parking spot lining the side of a very familiar building.
I realized immediately that it was the opera house which meant that the Hwang Hyunjin had brought me to a pretentious affair that certainly held no appeal to someone like myself. But I tried to keep my smile, nodding at him while he handed our tickets over to the attendant. Meanwhile, at the back of my head, all I could think about was the fact that Hyunjin might’ve been trying too hard with our first date. Especially as I observed the expensive theater.
“I heard it’s a classic,” Hyunjin whispered to me after we found our seats in the middle of the enormous crowd.
“Great,” I murmured back, trying not to feel so out of place.
Instead, I focused on the show in front of me, clapping along with everyone else because I had no idea when it was actually appropriate to do so. In fact, I was forced to laugh even though I couldn’t figure out what was funny, and I shifted uncomfortably when the older gentleman next to me started crying during one of the scenes. Apparently, the gathered crowd of patrons had rehearsed all of this before attending the show, and I was left pretending to understand the social cues that the others had already memorized.
It was actually rather draining, and I forced a smile at Hyunjin when he looked down at me. “You’re not having fun,” Hyunjin finally said during intermission.
“What do you mean?” I asked, but I wasn’t nearly as convincing of an actress as the people on stage.
Hyunjin sighed. “Honestly, Y/N, do you even like this?”
I swallowed hard, struggling under the scrutiny of his gaze. “It’s...alright?”
Hyunjin grinned, but it didn’t seem genuine. “Come on,” he said, rising from his seat. “I don’t think we’ll be missing out by leaving early.”
I reluctantly took Hyunjin’s outstretched hand, allowing him to pull me down the aisle before we trudged through the crowded lobby and into the refreshing night air. The parking lot was still full of cars, and Hyunjin had parked us somewhere near the back since we weren’t aware of the necessity of arriving to these shows several hours before start time. But I didn’t mind the walk because I was trying to think of something to say to a downtrodden Hyunjin who paused next to his car.
“Look,” I finally said with an endeared smile. “You don’t have to try so hard to impress me.”
“I screwed everything up,” Hyunjin said, and I was sad to see that he was genuinely upset as he leaned against the side of his car.
“No, you didn’t, Hyunjin,” I tried to tell him, but he wasn’t having any of it.
“I really like you,” Hyunjin said. “And this felt like my one opportunity to get something right, but I fucked up again.”
I took a deep breath, tilting my head to catch Hyunjin off-guard as I brushed a soft kiss across his lips. “I can tell you have a good heart, and that’s all I care about, okay?”
Hyunjin seemed completely taken aback, and I was worried that I had sent him into some kind of shock, but he allowed one hand to wrap around my waist as he brought us closer. “Thank you, Y/N,” he said, and our second kiss was reciprocated by both sides - a tender exchange of out deepest feelings. “Does this mean that I might get a chance at another date?” he asked, looking at me with sincere brown eyes.
“I think you’re worth it,” I told him despite how cheesy it sounded inside my head.
“This makes us official, right?” Hyunjin asked, and I should’ve known better than to expect something normal with him. Doing things by the book with all the cliches involved didn’t really seem like Hyunjin’s kind of thing - and I liked him even more because of it.
“Yeah, if you want labels or whatever,” I grumbled, but his teasing laugh was the best kind of medicine. Needless to say, our first night together was perfect in every way.

Chapter 4
You weren’t sure whether or not you should be jumping at the chance to date your best friend. When you were younger you did used to hope it would be you two in the end. Life happened and crushed that thought altogether.
Soon enough you had to grow up and the idea of dating Changbin couldn’t stand up to your grueling adult life. You put it at the back of your mind along with dating in general.
That was until Jisung Han, with all his charm, waltzed in to your life. The first time he saw you he was hitting on you and it took you by surprise. He was generally outgoing you later realized but you had held on to a crush from that day. Changbin didn’t seem to notice, but every chance he got he was dissing Jisung in front of you.
You felt pretty selfish for wanting them both. But in all honesty you really did. Individually they were both incredible guys really, but you couldn’t decide if your life depended on it who you would see yourself with. Each time you made a decision you felt it was wrong. You cared for both of them deeply.
“What am I thinking?” You groan.
You had ignored Changbin’s attempts to hang out for a few days. You did feel kind of bad about it, but each time you did you remembered that hairstylist and the trainee and the barista. Your jaw clenched and you had to pull yourself from your anger.
You woke up one morning to your phone’s text message chime. Trying to reach for your phone, you swipe it to the floor.
“Damnit.” You groan as you push yourself up onto your elbows. You were not ready for the day. You stared at your phone that was too far to reach with a disapproving look.
“Is it even that important?” You lower yourself back into a comfortable position when your phone chimes two more times. “Seriously?”
You kick your covers off and head to the bathroom to wake up a bit. When you check your phone you have a missed call and several text messages. You had a rule that real emergencies allow for multiple calls but only real emergencies, so you put your phone down to take a shower before opening the messages. You had a feeling they weren’t going to put you in a good mood.
Your phone started ringing and you shut your eyes as the water hit your face. Nope. Not now.
“Answer your damn phone!” You couldn’t quite make out what was said but you shut off the water immediately.
“The fuck, bruh?” Chan opened the bathroom door.
“Uhm.” You peak your head out of the shower. “The fuck is right!”
“Why am I dealing with Jisung and now Changbin’s whining? They’re moping and fighting. And Changbin’s pissed at me? Me!”
“Towel?”
“Why don’t you just step out?” Chan smirked at you and leaned his elbow against the towel rack.
“Very funny. I can’t reach it from here.” You reach out your arm.
“Yeah, it’s a shame...” he giggled. You were upset with yourself for finding that cute.
“Okay, don’t hand me the towel. We can do this here. What are you here for?”
“I can’t take their bitching.” He shrugs.
“So, in dramatic Chanie fashion you blow up my phone and storm in here while I’m showering?”
“Well, I didn’t blow up your phone for the record, but yes.” He shrugs. You let out a loud sigh causing him to chuckle again he leans over and grabs your towel. He playfully starts to head out of the room when he sees the look on your face.
“Kidding.” He laughs, handing it to you. He walks out of the bathroom and closes the door behind him. “Also they’re fighting pretty bad. They’ve been getting into wrestling matches that Jeongin is definitely tired of splitting up.”
When you finish getting dressed, you find Chan on the couch with a bowl in hand. You laugh to yourself as he stuffs his face.
“I’m starving.” He shrugs. You roll your eyes and take a seat next to him. He offers you a bite which you gladly take because whatever he has concocted smelled delicious.
“You can make gold from nothing can’t you?”
“Thank you!” He says with a mouth full of food. “No one else agrees.”
You hear a knock at the door and your certain Changbin has come to mope, but Hyunjin stood there with a bag of food.
“Considering the state of these boys I thought you might want to talk.” He says pushing his way past you.
“Hyunjin-ah! I love you.” You wrap your arms around him from behind. “Can you kick Chanie out for me?”
“I heard that!” He called from the front room. You smile back at him and watch Hyunjin unpack the food he brought.
“So, you broke Jisung’s heart. What else is new?”
“I did no such thing!” You gasp. “Does Minho hate me too?” Your tone is softer and a bit defeated.
“Of course not. I mean he’ll probably give you shit, but when doesn’t he?” You nod and take the bowl of food Hyunjin prepared for you to the couch.
“So, how bad is it really?” You lift your head, pushing the food around in your bowl.
“Eat.” Hyunjin ordered.
“Yes ma’am.” You take a bite looking from Hyunjin to Chan wondering when you listened to any of them.
“Well Jisung is convinced that Changbin is sleeping with you just to claim that he got to you first.”
“Excuse me,” Chan chimes in, “I got to you first!”
You look at Hyunjin and feign gagging, causing Hyunjin to laugh with you.
“Joke all you want. We kissed on New Years the first year we met.” Chan crossed his arms over his chest in triumph.
“Does that count as getting to her first?” Hyunjin questioned crossing one leg over the other.
“Hell yeah it does.” Chan started off strong but then he saw your look and immediately toned it down. “I mean if we’re arguing about that sort of childish shit.”
Hyunjin laughed at the two of you. “I remember that.”
“Huh?” You and Chan say simultaneously.
“Jeongin found you two on the terrace that night.” Hyunjin says dramatically and his shoulders shake with laughter.
“Jisung knows doesn’t he?” Your mind momentarily plays the last day you saw Jisung before his attitude change. The day at your apartment where he told you explicitly he doesn’t think you’re a slut. You brush it from your mind. Jisung was definitely acting the opposite right now.
“Ya, I don’t know why you can’t pick one person!” Hyunjin pulls you from your thoughts with his laugh. “There’s always a new flavor of the week with you.”
“That’s true.” You add giggling. Chan pouted at you both. Chan set his bowl on the table in front of him and flopped back on the couch. Slumping over, he laid his head on your shoulder.
After your meal Hyunjin decided to drag Chan back to the dorms. It took some effort to get Chan to leave, but eventually you were left alone again.
You grab your phone and notice the text messages. After taking a deep breath you start looking through them.

19:45 I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that shit to Chan. It just felt right to call you my girl...
20:08 I also wanted to piss Chan off and I’m sorry...

07:03 Haven’t slept because of this. Will you please just talk to me?
07:28 I’m sorry.
You sighed and backed out of his messages. You weren’t even sure what to say to him. You felt like shit for kicking him out and not speaking to him, but he honestly needs to stop making decisions without consulting you. You noticed you had a text from Jisung.
Jisung
09:49 Hey...
09:50 Can we talk?
Your heart skipped a beat. Who to text first? You start with Jisung and send a simple yes. You send a message to Changbin that turns out to be pretty lengthy. You let him know it’s not fair that he gets to flirt around and then claim you as his a second later.
Jisung responded immediately asking if you could meet at the usual coffee shop down the street from the studio. You were nearly through the roof. You jumped up and got dressed. It was only when you were heading out the door that you suddenly thought of all the ways this could go wrong.
Changbin paced the dorm, glancing at his phone every so often. He promised himself that he wouldn’t text anymore. He had said all he needed to say and anymore would just be pathetic, he told himself.
“Can you do that somewhere else?” Seungmin asked as he watched Changbin pace.
“He’s heart broken.” Felix appears from seemingly out of nowhere. “He refused my hug.” He slightly pouts. Seungmin shook his head.
Changbin suddenly sat on the couch and threw himself into a laying position, he was so frustrated he didn’t know what to do with himself.
“Much better.” Seungmin nods with a smile.
“He’s still sad.” Felix pouts.
“He needs alone time.” Seungmin nods waving Felix along.
Changbin ran his hands through his hair and thought about the fact that he laid his feelings out on the table. He told you and the guys that he wanted more when he said you were his. Your reaction was less than ideal. He was deflated. Then again, he thought, you may have just been upset to be out of the loop.
Changbin sat up. He decided he shouldn’t give you anymore space, he needed to go over there.
“Did you really ask that?” Hyunjin asked. “Never mind I’m sure you did.”
“I feel good about it.” Chan smiles.
“She’s not going to take you up on that. She’s in love I hope you know.” Hyunjin says matter-of-factly. “Oh.”
“Speaking of...” Chan says looking from Changbin to Hyunjin with a knowing look. Hyunjin nods.
“I wouldn’t mess with him.” Jeongin warns as he passes through, eating kimbap.
“Still?” Chan sighs.
“At your own risk.” Seungmin shrugs.
Changbin ignores the conversation and pushes past Seungmin. He pulls on his hat, shrugs into a jacket, and grabs his keys before slipping into his shoes. Changbin is more nervous than he expected heading to see you. It wasn’t normal for him to be nervous around you or about you, but he found these small moments popping up lately.
“Did you know he was in love?” Chan asked Seungmin when he heard the door close.
“It was only obvious. They’re both obvious, and they’re both dumb.” Seungmin says causing Hyunjin to laugh and high five him.
“But I thought she liked Jisung?” Felix pops his head out of the kitchen to join the drama. The guys got silent momentarily and Seungmin looked towards the far couch where Minho sat watching videos on his iPad. Minho chuckled to himself and cooed at the screen.
“Cute!” He said to himself. “What?” Minho whined when everyone sat around him. Chan snatched the iPad.
“Aw, cute!”
“See. Give it-“ he whined again. Chan shook his head and turned it off.
“You know more about this love triangle than the rest of us.” Felix said pulling the couch throw over his shoulders.
“Yeah, and I think she’s in love with Changbinnie.” Hyunjin affirms confidently.
“What if she’s in love with them both?” Minho grabs for his iPad. When Chan holds it out of reach, Minho starts to pout. “Why am I an expert?”
Changbin was just starting the engine when his phone chimed. He rushed to grab it seeing a message from you. His heart skipped a beat. Changbin quickly opened it and his heart fell a bit. He was a little sad to see you were still upset with him.
He had a natural flirtatious nature, but he will admit that he wanted to make you jealous. Changbin picked his moments carefully, he wanted you to see him as irresistible and it backfired. Never did he think you would think he was playing games. He though he was innocently attracting your attention.
Changbin sat in his car for a moment, unable to come up with a response. He still wanted to see you in person. He was determined to fix this. He typed and deleted his text message to you for the sixth time and tossed his phone in the passengers seat. He put the car in to gear and decided to work up his confidence on the drive over.
When he pulled up to your apartment it still took Changbin some time to get out of the car. His attempts at boosting his confidence fell short. He tapped the steering wheel and sighed to himself a few times before he seemingly forced himself to get out.
Changbin wasn’t quite sure what to say when he got there. You hadn’t ever really been mad at him before, not truly. Deep down he knew this wasn’t something that would last forever, but at the moment it sure felt like it and he didn’t want to be without you again.
Jisung tried to stay mad at both of you. He wanted to be mad at Changbin for stealing you from him, but he knew that wasn’t true. He wanted to be mad at you for leading him on but he knew that too wasn’t true.
Jisung wasn’t sure why he was so angry. He should be happy if your happy, but this situation left him feeling left out and unworthy. Not to mention the fact that he beat himself up for never telling you how he felt before this.
Though it had been weeks since he had last seen or spoken to you, he tried to convince himself that he didn’t want to see or speak to you. Jisung eventually started bringing you up without realizing it in conversation. Anytime Changbin would mention it, Jisung would blow up. It took far too long, but Jisung came to the realization that he was being entirely too immature and he truly missed being around you.
You straightened yourself out for the third time and finally entered the coffee shop. You’re so nervous at this point you almost turn around. You suddenly spot Jisung looking directly back at you. It almost startled you, but you moved towards him trying to compose yourself as if this hadn’t been so hard on you.
When you near the table, Jisung stood and walked around to greet you. His voice was soft and he gently leaned in. It was much more awkward than normal, but you were glad to be around him again. His arms wrapped around you gently at first, then he tightened his grip. Your certain he whispers I missed you, but it’s so faint you argue with yourself over it being real.
“Hey.” He says when you both sit down. “I ordered you a matcha latte, I hope that’s okay. I know you said you liked their matcha last time we came, so...”
“Of course it’s fine.” You flash him an appreciative smile. He did know you so well. Jisung had a way of remembering the details. You shift the napkins on the table nervously, not sure what to do with your hands or where to look.
“Hey,” he starts and looks away when your eyes meet. He takes a deep breath and starts again. “So, I just need to tell you I’m sorry.”
He looks in your eyes and you feel that nervous excited feeling rise in your stomach. He fidgets a bit in his seat and you want to comfort him, but you don’t know where to start. He hurt you, and it’s hard to know how to tip toe around his feelings when you aren’t sure what they are.
“It’s okay, Jisungie.” You look down at your hands. “I’m sorry, too.”
“No,” he sits up in his seat, as his hand falls over yours. He seemed to be gaining confidence. “Please, don’t be. You have nothing to be sorry for...” he sighs at himself. It takes him a moment to speak again as he gathers his thoughts.
“I’ve liked you for a long time. As long as I can remember knowing you, really.” Jisung was significantly more calm confessing these feelings to you than he had anticipated. It felt natural. Maybe it only felt that way because he had rehearsed it in his head so many times before this.
You suddenly felt your heart rate picking up. It was nervousness and excitement all rolled in to one and you weren’t quite sure what to do with yourself.
“Do you have feelings for him?” He questioned and after a momentary silence, “be honest.” He added.
You looked him in the eyes and nodded. You didn’t want to say it. You didn’t want to confirm it. But looking in to his eyes you knew you couldn’t lie.
“So, where do we go from here?” He questioned. His eyes caught yours and you felt a bit nervous . His big brown eyes were sincere and you didn’t want to say the wrong thing. You didn’t want to be without him again.

barista boy- han jisung
hi guys! i haven’t written fluff in awhile & i have a soft spot for jisung now so <3 here you go !!
you know those mornings when you wake up fresh and feeling good? ready to tackle the day? feeling like nothing will stop you from being the successful- yeah. you tried.
mornings were never like that, but in today’s case you tried your best to keep that smile plastered on your face no matter how badly it hurt your cheeks. the meeting was soon, and you really craved your favorite cup of coffee so you decided to go to the coffee shop that just opened to get one.
when you crave something, you can literally taste it. your heart is in need of that sweet sensation on your tongue and it’s all that’s on your mind. you walk inside the busy place to see two people in line before joining them.
are you blind or is your favorite drink not on their menu?? it’s literally a basic drink?? a simple coffee grind and milk?? why the fuck is it not on their list??
all hopes of your good mornings are shattered and you find yourself giving up. you knew it, one bad thing in the morning and it would ruin your entire day.
that was, until you saw the cute barista at the counter. just from seeing him you blushed, your fingers twirling a piece of your hair and putting it behind your ear before you could look up at him and smile.
“hi! welcome to ‘coffee shop’ what can i get ya?” the boy said in an enthusiastic morning that surely woke you up
“oh.. umm i have a quick question? do you guys have chocolate lattes by any chance? i don’t see it on the menu”
“oh sorry ma’am, those are out of season”
“o-out of season? it’s a regular”
“not here ma’am, it’s out of season”
“oh come on, please!! please make me one?!”
the boy looked at you with the slightest bit of annoyance in his face before you could start begging again, the crowd behind you wondering what the hold up was for.
“okay, okay fine! i’ll make the drink, it’s on the house”
shit. jisung did NOT just say it’s on the house. can he take it back? he.. he can’t take it back. you were annoying as fuck but jisung couldn’t help but to notice how cute you were. maybe you were just so cute that it was annoying.
“wait it is?” you asked in shock
“y..yeah” he replied with a small laugh. well that’s going out of his paycheck.
“oh..okay thanks” you said before getting out of line.
minutes later, you felt a tap on your shoulder drawing you away from your phone. “here’s your drink” the boy said
once he handed you the cup you noticed the long message under the name section
“you never told me your name so i put it as ’annoying ass customer that cant buy from our menu :)‘“
oh my god. you bought this coffee to look professional at your meeting, now how were you going to do so when that was written on it.
“wait.. wait!” you called after the boy until he met the counters.
“what” he said, turning around. the second he turned around you slipped on the glass floor, causing both you and the drink to fall towards his chest. jisung grabbed your wrist to ensure your coffee was steady in your grip while his other hand held your waist tightly.
you looked up to the boy, meeting his eyes that made your cheeks flush red. “hmm, shy now aren’t we?” he whispered with a smirk before helping you back on your two feet.
“as for the name, keep it. it’s still valid” he said before disappearing into the kitchen.
---
that night, you still couldn’t forget that boy’s smile. you had so much going on in your head; you wanted to go to the carnival tonight with but you had to cancel because of work.
all light provided by the sun was gone for the day, and walking home alone wasn’t ideal but staying at work wasn’t either. to make the trip a little less dreary for yourself however you weren’t sure it was open. it was on the way so it wouldn’t hurt to check.
you finally met the cafe to see the sign’s lights turned off. bummer, you thought to yourself, before you could hear a loud noise from inside the shop.
you quickly ran to the door to find it unlocked, the sound slightly alarming and triggering your inner instincts. fear ran through your veins as you sprinted to the origin of the sound and you found a burglar tackling the cute barista on the floor.
it was even more alarming when the burglar turned around and saw you, barista boy looking at you in shock as well. you didn’t even expect yourself to be here either.
the burglar got up, cornering you against the kitchen and the barista boy is running away. why the fuck is he running away? pussy ass bitch. you dig in your purse quickly to find the bottle of pepper spray as the burglar inches closer and closer to you.
but where did you put it? one hand searches for it while the other tries to push the burglar away and before you know it you're spraying the pepper all over the guys eyes.
the burglar screeches in pain as you try to run away before jisung could frantically run into the room with a broom in his hand, screaming at the top of his lungs like a madman.
“jisung! jisung stop he’s down” you scream as jisung idiotically makes an attempt to beat the guy.
he turns his head to see the guy covering his eyes in pain before looking at you, “wait..you already got him down?”
“yeah” you pant surprisingly as you notice the disappointment in his face. he was really trying to be a superhero with that broom.
“did you call the cops?” you ask him before the police could enter the building.
“he’s right here sir,” jisung says. quickly a woman runs into the building and instructs the police to leave the kitchen and it’s just you and jisung inside.
“so…” you say, leaning against one of the counters as you watch jisung try to avoid eye contact with you.
“um… thanks for helping me out i guess”
“you welcome” you reply. at that, jisung says nothing and leaves the kitchen.
unsure of what to do, you walk out of the kitchen as well before you could encounter a broken glass on the floor. grabbing a towel nearby you pick up the pieces.
“you should ask her out” jisung’s jaw drops at the words of his mother.
“mom?! i should what now?!” he whisper-screams as jisung’s mother grabs him by the ear.
“do you see that? that’s what a good woman is like” jisung watches as you pick up the remaining pieces, his heart immediately softening.
“go help her out” his mother says before jisung could find himself stumbling in front of you.
you look up at him from the ground as he awkwardly stares back. “h-hey.. i was just picking up these pieces of glass”
“i can tell” jisung replies. shit, why is he ruining this entire thing for himself?
you look back at the ground while jisung nervously itches the crook of his neck. how do words form? how do people talk? jisung knows what he wants to say but it’s just not coming out.
“ouch!” you say to yourself. jisung kneels onto the floor, his hand carrying yours as he focuses on the cut on your hand.
“are you okay? does it hurt?” he immediately asks.
“it’s okay jisung it’s just a-”
“no wait we need to get this bandaged” jisung helps you off the ground before guiding you to the emergency kit.
you watch as he delicately wipes the blood from your cut and wraps the bandage around your finger.
“is that too tight?” he asks, a sly catch of concern in his voice as he waits for your answer
“no.. no that’s fine” you reply. is he real? is this really happening? while he secures the bandage your mind is thinking about how soft and warm his fingers are, how you weren’t sure if you were able to let go.
“you know.. annoying ass lifesaver, i’ve been meaning to ask you something”
you look up to him, surprised to see him looking back at you. your shoulders tense and your heart starts beating faster before you could reply, “yeah, what’s that?”
“would you like to go to the carnival with me? i know it’s a bit late and we just met-”
“yes” you suddenly reply
“really?!”
“yes…” you repeat in a reassuring voice
“then let’s go!” you didn’t even ask. your hopes and dreams come true the second jisung takes his hand in yours and you’re running out of the kitchen.
“i’m going out mom!” he screams at the top of his lungs in excitement.
“have fun lovebirds!” his mother replies making jisung look back at you.
you laugh at her words which makes jisung blush, “don’t listen to a thing she says” he tells you before you two find yourselfs running to the fairpark.
---
once you two get there, it’s all laughs and games. you learn jisung is a fucking coward and very.. VERY touchy. you drag him to the ride called the “DROP” and he’s clinging onto you like it’s the end of his life.
his fingers are intertwined with yours as you meet the games. there’s a whole bunch and jisung sets on eye on a game to win you a prize.
“just wait here, i got this. im gonna get the BIGG teddy bear for you!” jisung says in excitement as he goes up to the game.
it’s a simple toss the ball at the targets until their all down game, but jisung can’t seem to win the big prize. he empties his wallet after seven attempts to win the big teddy bear for you before he turns around and pouts.
“do you have change?” he says in a sad tone that makes your heart melt
“jisung… don’t worry” you say giving him a peck on the cheek, “let me try”
and that’s what you tease jisung with all night, the fact that you won on your first try.
jisung is carrying the bear with one hand, the other holding onto yours before your friends who you planned to go to the festival with noticed you.
“y/n!!” they said calling out for you. now jisung knew your name for sure.
“hey guys! what’s up?” you ask them, giving each of them a hug.
“nothing much, is this what you were so busy with?”
“no, but it just ended up this way” you laughed
“do you two wanna join us, we’re gonna go to the theater room!”
you turn to jisung who’s sipping on his drink, “do you wanna go watch a movie?” you ask him
“sure! why not?” jisung simply replies with a smile that makes you wanna cuddle him all night.
at the movie theater you two decided that you’d sit all the way in the back, just so you could prop your feet up the seats in front of you and just for privacy.
jisung put a arm around your shoulder and you snuggled into his chest. who knew the boy that got your name wrong this morning would be in your arms tonight?
jisung pressed a kiss to your forehead before whispering, “is it getting hot in here or is it just me?”
“it’s just you” you reply
“what?”
you look at him in slight panic and chuckle, “what?!”
you two start laughing and your cheeks turn pink at your sudden ability to flirt before you are hushed by an old couple nearby.
you cover jisungs mouth as he tries to laugh louder in order to annoy the couple but resulted in you two getting kicked out.
—-
“the movie was fun while it lasted, right?!” jisung asked, handing you a cup of coffee.
you two were now back at the cafe alone, you sitting by jisung with the teddy bear sitting across from both of you.
“before or after you got us kicked out?” you asked him sarcastically
jisung let out a laugh before he could point out the name on your coffee cup
“i changed it up a bit”
“annoying cute ass, what an improvement” you comment, rolling your eyes before looking at him.
suddenly he’s inches away from you. “it is quite the improvement, im so glad i met you annoying ass” he said before his lips could meet yours. jisung grabs your chin to kiss deeper but before you know it your coffee is spilt all over you.
“shit, shit! im so sorry babe” he replies
“it burns jisung, it literally burns!” you squint your eyes in pain at the just made coffee making contact with your skin.
jisung grabs a handful of tissues to dry off your jeans before placing a few kisses all over your face.
“ill make it up to you, adding your favorite drink to the menu!”
you look at him with a disappointment look, seriously not buying it.
“and it’s on the house!” jisung says persuasively. that’s what makes you smile; free coffee and a cute guy. what’s there to lose?

part 06
masterlist
a stray kids social media au
at y/n’s house —
“jisung?”
y/n was surprised to see her ex standing in front of the door, soaking wet. his jaw was clenched, she couldn’t tell if he was angry or not.
“why didn’t you show up?” he asked quietly. he stepped closer, looking down at her with red eyes.
“i tried to text you but nothing was going through, i just got home and was about to head to the park.”
it wasn’t a lie. once she realized she’d be late she made changbin speed walk along side her. jisung knew she was telling the truth, he could see the umbrella in her hands.
“you were with changbin?” jisung asked, his voice wavered slightly. y/n had just come back, he couldn’t lose her so quickly.
“why don’t you come in?” y/n sighed as she stepped back to open the door wider. his shoes squeaked against the floor, she forgot how wet he was.
“i have spare clothes that my dad left behind, do you want to borrow some? i could put your clothes in the dryer so we can sit and talk.” she said while walking into the guest room, already deciding for him.
she couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of him, he was standing like an idle sim character just waiting for her to instruct him. he nodded and took the clothes into the bathroom to change.
y/n pulled out her phone and decided to text the groupchat about the events that just occurred.
y/n : jisung is at my house.
woojin : what
jeongin : r u giving him premarital kisses
woojin : what
jeongin : RIP y/nlix today-today
“i hope you don’t mind, i put my clothes in the dryer myself, i knew where it was so”
y/n dropped her phone at his sudden voice, he walked towards her and picked it up. he handed it to her and couldn’t help but let his hand linger over hers. it felt very slow motion to him, it’s been so long since he’s been this close to her. he missed it.
y/n patted the seat next to her but jisung opted to sit on the opposite side of the couch instead. she brought her knees to her chest and turned slightly so she was facing him, the whole situation felt so weird.
“i’m sorry i cornered you earlier, in the shop.” he looked sad, y/n couldn’t really figure out why.
“it’s okay... i’m sorry i tried to avoid you in the coffee shop.” she said, he laughed at this. she never was a confrontational person, it seems as though after all these years she hasn’t changed.
“i wish we could have started today off on a better note, i hate how awkward this is.” he sighed, putting his face in his hands.
“we were always kind of dramatic weren’t we? i think it’s just who we are” y/n laughed
jisung looked up at her from his hands, it just hit him. y/n didn’t hate him. he still had a chance to make all this right. he had a chance to win her back.
“y/n” he said seriously, gaining her attention. “do you remember our last conversation before you left?”
she felt a pang in her chest, as much as she tried to forget that day, it was burned in her mind.
“uh yes, yes i do. why?” she asked. the last time they spoke he ended her world. jisung had asked y/n to meet her at the park, she thought nothing of it since it was their usual meet up spot but when she saw him she knew bad news was coming. his eyes were red, he had obviously been crying.
“jisung? are you okay? what’s wrong?” y/n approached him quickly.
“it’s fine. i’m fine” he responded coldly. y/n had never seen him like this, jisung had previously treated her with nothing but kindness and respect. something about him was off.
“you’re leaving. when?” jisung tried to keep a straight face but he couldn’t hide the sadness in his voice.
y/n’s parents decided to move to america, her father got a better job offer and they didn’t mind the new change in scenery. ignoring her protests, they enrolled her in a private school and already bought a house.
“i’ll be gone by the end of the month.”
jisung took a deep breath, he knew what he had to do but he was deeply dreading it.
“do you know when you’re coming back?”
“no”
“y/n...” he started, his voice cracking ever so slightly, “i think it’s best if we break up. you’re moving to another country, going to a better school, you don’t need me holding you back.”
“how can you say that? you’ve been with me my whole life, you’re just going to give up on us? no. it’s not ending like this.” y/n said angrily. jisung was the one who pined after her, who asked her out, who owned her heart. there was no way she was going to let go of him so easily.
“how is this going to work, y/n? we’re just high school students. you’re going to be living a new life in another time zone. it’s easier for you to just leave me behind and move on with your life.” he sighed again. each word that came out of his mouth was a blow to his heart.
“no. it’s not that simple and you know it.” her voice grew louder with each word, “it’s almost spring, you said that with every spring you would love me more and more. don’t you remember the first time you told me you loved me? it was on a spring day you said ‘i was made for you, i was born for you, i love you with all my soul’. did that mean nothing to you? do you regret the words you said? does it-“
“i cheated on you.”
jisung’s words fell out of his mouth like vapour but landed in her guts as shrapnel. y/n felt her insides tear, and the blood drain from her face. she would have laughed but he was deadly serious. his eyes were cold like she’s never seen and his features immobile. he looked like someone about to vomit.
she was trying to understand the words he's told her but couldn’t. ‘jisung must love me, he has for so many years’. then he turned to go, shoulders sunken and his hands in his pockets. before she knew what she was doing she was standing in his way and they locked eyes, the perfect distance for a kiss, but he shook his head. y/n could see her pain mirrored in his dark eyes.
y/n has dreaded spring since then.
“y/n?” jisung’s soft voice brought her back to reality. she couldn’t bear to look him in the eyes right now, all she could imagine was him breaking her heart all those years ago. she kept a stoic face and turned towards him once again.
“yes?”
“i want to talk about it. there’s so much i need to say, i don’t want you to hate me anymore” jisung reached for her hand but she pulled away as soon as she felt his touch. he nodded and retracted it.
“i feel as though we said all we needed to say that day” she coughed, she felt as though he was going to drop another bomb.
“yes i know, but there’s something you don’t know. that day... i lied” jisung said quickly. he tried to scan her face for any emotion but it was useless.
the words played over and over again in her head. ‘i lied’. she truly didn’t know how to react. he lied?
“you lied? what does that mean?”
“i didn’t cheat on you. i lied.”
“what... what does this mean? why did you say that if it was a lie? what sick game are you playing, han?” y/n only called him by his last name in cases where she was extremely mad at him. this was one of those times.
“i knew you wouldn’t leave if you still loved me, i needed you to have a fresh start. to have a life that i wasn’t a part of.” he tried to explain but he was shortly cut off.
“oh so you did this for my sake? well thank you so very much. it totally helped me move, i wasn’t heartbroken for a year... nope!” she yelled sarcastically.
jisung wondered if he made a mistake telling her. no. it’s the right thing to do, she deserves to know the truth.
y/n felt her insides boiling, she was getting angry. she knew better than to argue right now, no good would come from it. so much damage was done when she argued. every mean thing she'd thought but knew better than to say came flooding out. y/n didn’t know if she was mad or heartbroken. nonetheless, the tears fell slowly from her eyes.
“it’s late, you can sleep in the guest bedroom. we can’t talk more in the morning.” y/n signed as she brought her hand to her eyes, quickly wiping the tears.
“but y/n-“
“goodnight jisung.” she walked to her bedroom and closed the door.
jisung put his head into his hands and groaned. he had no idea what was going to happen the next day.

The Shooting Stars of N.City (Soulmate Au! Jaemin Fluff)
Starlink Intergalactic Navigator
Tumblr media
Author’s Note: YAY, a request for one of my ult groups! And one of my biases! It’s a win for me, ladies and gays! I accidentally deleted the original request, so I can’t post an answer to it. (It’s really lucky I screenshotted it before that happened.) Also, keep in mind that I’ve never been to a concert before, so this might not be entirely accurate, but I tried to just use my common sense. This imagine honestly has just as much Jisung X Felix as Reader X Jaemin, I’m sorry I got carried away. Hope you enjoy!
Trigger warning: none
Genre: fluff and slight angst
Word-count: 4.2K+
You are in: The Luck of Fate Star System
Tumblr media
“And what’s the name for that?” the barista asked, the bored lilt to his monotoned voice offset by the heady scent of vanilla and coffee in the air.
“Y/N.” you said softly.
The boy didn’t bother to respond, not even nodding as he tapped your name into the register and told you your total.
“Eight dollars and twenty-one cents.” he drawled.
If it wasn’t so early, you would have groaned about the absurd prices — were you ever going to buy that coffee maker? — but as it was still so early, and you were incredibly sluggish, you only nodded, pulling the money out and handing it toward him.
The boy’s brow furrowed at the ink on your arm, suddenly looking a bit more awake as he craned his neck to see it better, like all nosy people did.
You will meet at: N.City.
The boy startled when you yanked your sleeve down over the words, glaring fiercely as he took the money, stammering and dropping change all over the corner.
You had seen the words on your arm for the longest, and you were beyond sick of being ogled at like a zoo attraction for a soulmate link that you had come to hate anyway.
As if you hadn’t looked at every website, in every almanac and encyclopedia, on every map and globe, trying in vain to find N.City.
Only, no matter how hard you looked it up, you couldn’t find the place on your arm.
N.City was not a real place.
But that didn’t matter, you reminded yourself.
Because this, right now, was a real place. The current moment is what you should be focusing on. Not some distant person that might not even exist in the first place.
“Y/N!” another barista called.
This barista, a pretty girl whose nametag read Yeji, gave you an airy smile as you shuffled up to the counter and took your drink. It made you feel a bit better.
The hot drink in your hands warmed from the inside out, a comforting brace against the sharp November breeze.
Despite the resentment for the words on your arm, you couldn’t help the old childhood habit of brushing your thumb lovingly against the words as you walked into your lecture hall and took your seat.
While your soulmate link wasn’t particularly common, it wasn’t particularly rare either. It wasn’t hard to find other people who had it and they all said the same thing: while seemingly helpful, it acted more like a puzzle than a hint.
Many times, soulmates would have different pieces of the location on their arm, like one soulmate having a street name and the other having the city and state its in. Some soulmates had vague locations like ‘bus’ or ‘river.’
And some, most likely in your case, had emotional locations. This could mean somewhere that’s really important to one of the soulmates, but isn’t actually a place with a name, so the soulmate link had to make one.
This was most likely what you had.
At least, that was what you hoped.
This was much easier to accept than the thought that the soulmate system just screwed you over.
“‘Sup N.City,” Felix’s low baritone, still scratchy with sleep startled you out of your pre-lecture stupor.
You gave him a sour look, too tired and too fond of him to have any real malice behind it.
“Stop calling me that,” you said, like you did twenty times a day whenever he used that nickname. If it had been anyone else, you probably would have body-slammed them.
But Felix, with his deep voice and big pretty eyes and heart way too big for his body, was an extremely hard person to get mad at.
When the years went by and you started to resent the writing on your arm, he was the one who distracted you with Mario Kart and the detentions his stupid ideas brought.
When everyone kept asking what N.City was and what it meant and where it was and your stomach dropped when you saw their faces twist with pity when you said you didn’t know, he was the one who told them to back off and mind their business.
And when people started trying to use your confusion toward your soulmate link to their advantage, trying to trick you into believing they were your soulmate, he was the one who protected you. The one who stood by you when you started isolating everyone in the interest of your safety.
The lecture passed by as it always did, your professor’s incredibly boring voice sliding in one and ear and out the other, without a word of his speech actually sticking in your brain.
If it hadn’t been for the notes Felix took in this class, you probably would have failed weeks ago.
“You really need to start paying attention,” Felix admonished, sounding more amused than disapproving.
You pouted, crossing your arms over your chest as you two packed up. Well, Felix packed up, you didn’t have anything out to begin with except your iced coffee.
“Come on, Lix. Statistics make me sad, you know this.”
Felix rolled his eyes as you two left the lecture hall, on the way to get some actual food in when his phone buzzed in the middle of the walk.
You weren’t paying attention to him until you noticed he wasn’t beside you anymore.
You glanced around, confused, before seeing him a few paces back, an upset and pensive look on his face.
“Lix? What are you doing? What’s wrong?”
The moment he heard your voice, the look broke and he grinned.
“Felix, I don’t like that look. That’s the same look you got on your face in sophomore year when you—”
“Oh? Oh, we bring up stuff from the past, are we?” Felix’s brow rose and your eyes narrowed. “Because if that’s the case, then we can always talk about that time when—”
“Don’t you dare bring that up,” you hissed, cheeks already flaming as he smirked.
“That’s what I thought,” he said sliding his phone back into his pocket and catching up to you, throwing a jovial arm over your shoulder.
You really didn’t like that grin on his face.
“So you know what concert I was going to in June?”
“Yeah,” you said warily, swiping your student ID at the entrance to the dining hall.
“Well, the concert’s in Korea and I don’t like going by myself, so I was going to have Chris-hyung come with me.”
“I don’t like where this is going.”
“But he’s going on a family vacation with Lucas and their mom.”
“I really don’t like where this is going.”
“So I want you to come instead.”
“Oh, Felix,” you whined as you two moved down the line.
“No, listen! It won’t be like that time in LA! My Korean is pretty good now and I’ve been to Seoul loads of times before so I can get us around! And Chan already paid for you, so all you have to do is come!”
Your eyes widened, almost dropping your plate as you looked for an empty table to sit at.
“Chan paid for me?”
“Well, he already paid for his stay in the hotel and his concert ticket and his flight and everything so he’s just giving it to you.” Felix smiled brightly, as if he wasn’t asking me to go with him to a country where I couldn’t speak the language and had never been there before to see a band that I didn’t even know the name of.
Felix was an avid K-Pop fan, but I think it was only because of the name that appeared on his collarbone a day before he turned eighteen.
Han Jisung.
A Korean name if I’d ever seen one. Since then, Felix had been to Korea like six times and was very near fluent in the language. Despite always going there “strictly for concerts and conventions,” he always stayed for, like, a week to “take in the sights.”
Normally, any mention of soulmates irked you. You tried to forget about it as time went on, but it kept being thrown in your face. Couples everywhere, your parents and family constantly harassing you about N.City and your potentially nonexistent soulmate.
But you found his dedication to his soulmate so cute and genuine and innocent, that you just couldn’t fault him for it. This Han Jisung was a very lucky person.
And, no matter how much you didn’t really want to give up a week of your hard-earned summer downtime to go frolicking in a foreign country, you had to admit that the idea of Felix being alone there didn’t sit well with you either.
“Ugh, fine. But you better not turn me into Nancy Drew looking for Han Jisung.”
Felix blushed, ducking his head down as he grumbled, “I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
~
The next two months passed by uneventfully. Exams, homework, and copious amounts of finals stress came and went. And though you and Felix were worn and tired, the thought of having another year under your belt and being one step closer to your degree lifted your spirits considerably.
Because you were petty, you didn’t admit to Felix how excited you actually were about the upcoming trip. But he’d known you for years and the grin wouldn’t leave his face as he watched you run around your room, stuffing clothes and toiletries in a suitcase as you babbled nearly incoherently to him, practicing the little phrases of Korean that you had had time to learn.
Something you knew from experience was that traveling with Felix was . . . stressful. At least, at the beginning.
You had both worked out a plan two days earlier to keep everything relaxed and smooth.
However, the day of the flight, that entire plan went out the window.
You both woke up an hour and a half after the alarm went off, had to go back to his house three times for things you forgot (one of which being his passport and ticket), the bus you were on broke down, Felix cause a hold up at TSA cause of all the snacks in his carry-on, you very nearly got questioned by the police when Felix yelled, “This concert is going to be the bomb!” at the top of his lungs, and then you nearly fought a man at the terminal who you were pretty sure was trying to kidnap you and Felix.
“This happens every time!” you complained to him as you both finally boarded the plane, putting your carryon in the overhead compartment.
Felix got the window seat — due to all his whining — but at this point, you didn’t even care, just settled down in your seat with your earbuds, head leaning back, and drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
At least that’s what was about to happen until Felix tapped your shoulder.
“I have to pee, you have to move.”
“Oh, for FUCK’S SAKE!”
~
You wondered if other people had this same experience, the feeling that everywhere they went, soulmates were all people seemed to want to talk about. But maybe it was just because you were trying to avoid the topic that it kept coming up.
Either way, you were pretty sure that hearing Felix talk about the etymology of the name Han Jisung for the past ninety minutes would have been too much for anyone.
“We’re here!” you said gratefully, nearly crying tears of relief as you practically threw yourself out of the Uber you were sharing with Felix.
The venue was large, and you were elated to see there weren’t too many people in line yet so Felix, hopefully, wouldn’t have time to start talking about Jisung again.
You really hoped they met soon, because, as much as you loved Felix, you didn’t know how much more of this you could take.
“What’s the name of the group again?” you asked as you and Felix walked in, stopping at a merch stand so Felix could buy a shirt and lightstick.
“NCT,” he replied, holding a shirt and lightstick out to you as well as if asking if you wanted one as well.
You shook your head. “Nah, those things are way too expensive to buy one for someone who isn’t even a fan.”
Felix only smirked, buying the extra shirt and lightstick anyway.
“You will be after this, trust me.”
You shrugged, putting the shirt on over your clothes and turning the lightstick around in your hands, examining it curiously. It wasn’t the prettiest thing, but it wasn’t that ugly.
Maybe you could use it to light the way when you go to the bathroom at night.
It was Felix’s money, he could spend it how he pleased. Well, more likely it was Chan and Woojin’s money, but that’s beside the point.
For the next hours, you and Felix spent a generous amount of time talking, beating each other up with lightsticks, and conversing with other fans until finally the lights die down and the music starts up . . .
~
The summer air was cool, gently ticking your face as you gazed up at the sky. The night was quiet, quiet as it could be in a big city like Seoul, and the only other thing that filled your ears was the sound of NCT’s songs on shuffle.
You’d been impressed by the concert, to say the least.
The way they all performed with such passion and precision made you feel electric and, even though you didn’t know the words to the songs, you almost forgot you weren’t a fan as you waved the lightstick and hummed along with Felix beside you.
When you got back to the hotel, you were still wired, unlike Felix, who fell asleep the instant his head hit the pillow.
You decided to go to the nearest park, only a couple minutes' walk away. Even though you didn’t wake Felix up and disturb him, you made sure to text him the location of the place you were going ahead of time just in case something bad happened.
So far, nothing had happened though. There were other people in the park, but none of them paid much attention to you. It seemed they were all just people who couldn’t sleep either.
At least, that was what you thought until some random guy appeared beside you, pointing at the spot on the bench next to you. “Can I sit here?” his voice was smooth and pleasant, and you nodded before you even realized what you’d agreed to.
The boy — who seemed to be about your age — had a black mask on, but you could see his eyes crinkle cutely so you were pretty sure he smiled as he sat beside you.
“Are you here for the shooting stars?” he asked.
Your face contorted in confusion.
“The what?”
“There’s supposed to be shooting stars tonight,” the boy said. “That’s what most of these people are doing here.”
“I didn’t know that. I just couldn’t sleep. I went to a concert, so I guess the adrenaline still hasn’t worn off.”
The boy rose an eyebrow. “The NCT 127 concert? You went?”
You nodded, a ghost of a smile curving your lips. “Yeah, I went with a friend. He’s an NCT friend. I guess I am too, after what I saw at their concert.”
“Do you recognize me?” the stranger suddenly asks.
You stared at him for a moment, bewildered. It was kind of hard to see past the black hoodie, mask, and sweatpants that covered nearly every inch of him, but even so, you pretty sure you’d never met this person before.
“Uh, should I?”
The boy’s eyes changed and you were pretty sure he was smirking.
“NCT has another sub-unit, NCT Dream. Are you and your friend going to see them perform tomorrow?”
You racked your brain for anything Felix might have said about it and slowly nodded. “Yeah, I think he did say we’re going to see them to— oh. Wow . . .”
At that moment, the shooting stars appeared, brilliants streaks of white painting the sky, enrapturing you so much that you failed to see the boy staring in awe at you, a realization seeming to dawn upon him as he watched your face light up at the sight of the shooting stars.
“Holy shit, it's you,” he breathed.
Your brow furrowed as you looked at him. Before you could ask any questions, he just held a hand out to you. You were even more confused at first, before you saw the words on his palm. They were in Korean at first, but they shifted before your eyes, reforming into an English sentence.
You will meet: under the shooting stars.
Your eyes widened, glancing back up at the shootings tars, now long-gone, leaving behind only the brilliants trails where they once were.
“I....but I don’t understand.”
You yanked your sleeve up showing the sentence inscribed onto your arm, but it only made the boy’s eyes crinkle more.
“NCT 127 is called that because they’re based in Seoul. That’s what 127 is, it’s the coordinates for the city. NCT? N.City? You came to Seoul for their concert and now we met under the stars. We’re—”
“Soulmates,” you whisper in disbelief, your eyes widened to the point of saucers.
The boy grinned, nodding as he finally pulled his mask under his chin, revealing the face of what was probably the most gorgeous boy you’d ever seen in your life, a few strands of soft-looking pink hair falling into his sparkly eyes, curved with happiness.
You let out a choked sob as you flung your arms around his neck, hugging him close without even really being conscious of what you were doing, but your soulmate didn’t seem to mind. He just laughed, arms circling around your waist just as tight, rocking you back and forth, hand rubbing your back comfortingly as he nuzzled his face into your hair.
“I thought you weren’t real, I thought the system screwed up,” you blubbered, hands clenching fistfuls of his hoodie. “I tried to look for N.City and I couldn’t find anything, so I thought . . .”
You trailed off, trying to pull yourself together as you buried your head in his chest, the scent of his sweet-smelling cologne filling your senses and calming you slightly.
Your soulmate nodded in understanding, hugging you a little bit closer.
“I’m real. I’m real and I’m here and I’m yours,” he whispered.
“I can’t believe all those years of being obsessed with astronomy actually paid off,” he said and you scoffed.
“I can’t believe letting Felix drag me to a foreign country actually paid off,” you chuckled.
Your soulmate stiffened, pulling back to look at you. “Felix? Lee Felix? His Korean name is Yongbok?”
Your jaw dropped, brows furrowing as you nodded slowly. “Yeah, how did—”
“I’m friends with Han Jisung.”
~
“FELIX!”
A loud bang echoed through the hotel room as Felix shot up in the bed, an anguished cry escaping him when his forehead collided with the headboard.
“What? Are we being robbed? Where’s the fire? Fuck, that hurt!”
Felix groaned, clutching his head, only to yelp when he strayed too close to the edge of the bed and tumbled to the floor in a heap of aching limbs.
You barely even noticed, throwing him clothes and speaking so fast that Felix wouldn’t even be able to understand what you said if you hadn’t just woken him up and given him two concussions and a bone fracture in the span of eight seconds.
“Y/N, slow down, what the hell are you talking about, I— DON’T TOUCH THAT, I CAN GET DRESSED BY MYSELF!”
“Hurry up then!” you groaned, shoving a jacket onto him as he put a pair of jeans and a sneaker on at the same time.
You finally made it out of the hotel room, arguing incoherently the entire time as you pulled Felix along to the destination that you and your soulmate had agreed upon before racing to go fetch your respective friends.
Your soulmate had obviously been more adept at explaining the situation as he stood beside an intensely good-looking boy with long-ish messy blonde hair that looked nervous beyond all belief, but otherwise pretty well pout-together for being woken up at three in the morning.
Meanwhile, you and Felix were still arguing loudly as you entered the already-loud restaurant, his shirt on backward, jeans inside out, mismatched socks on, one shoe missing, and hair sticking up at every angle as he shouted at you, the both of you somehow not bumping into anything as you approached the pair.
“— could have died for Christ’s sake Y/N, you don’t even know Hangul, not to mention I have a headache the size of Germany now and—”
“Germany is a small country and headaches don’t have sizes you moron—”
“YOU KNOW WHAT—”
“DO YOU WANT TO MEET JISUNG OR NOT?”
That made him shut up, eyes wide as he gaped at you, still not noticing the two boys now directly in front of you.
“I— wha— Jisung?” he finally stuttered out.
You wordlessly waved a hand toward the boy, who you could now clearly see had Felix Lee/Lee Yongbok written on the back of his hand.
“That’s him. He’s apparently one of my soulmate’s friends so I thought you’d like to finally meet him.”
Felix looked back and forth between you and Jisung, mouth flapping open and closed like a fish as he tried to find the words to say.
Jisung finally found his voice, squeaking out a, “You’re very pretty.” in a timid shaky voice.
That seemed to shake Felix back to his senses as he flung himself onto the boy. They were the same height but Felix still found a way to comfortably nestle his head in the crook of his neck.
Jisung looked surprised but absolutely elated and you could already tell that he was even more whipped for Felix than Felix was for him. You could see Felix’s ears flushing red as Jisung whispered things in his ear in Korean that you probably didn’t even want to know.
“They’re cute together,” you whispered as your soulmate came over to you, putting an arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side.
“Not as cute as you,” he said, grinning as you groaned.
“Ugh, way too cheesy,” you said in mock disgust as you two sat in a booth, no longer focused on Jisung and Felix at all.
“Get used to it, prince(ss). You’re stuck with me for now. For a long time, hopefully.”
You smiled, anticipation thrumming in your veins as his face advanced closer to yours. You had always thought it was stupid that soulmates got so comfortable with each other, and especially with physical affection, so early on in the relationship, but now you understood perfectly.
You didn’t even care about the fact that you and your soulmate hadn’t even exchanged names or numbers yet as his lips met yours. All you cared about right now was him and the rest could come later.
And if the way he held you so delicately and adoringly was anything to go by, he felt the same.
~
“Wait, so you’re telling me that my soulmate is an idol?” you gaped, turning to look at Jaemin who smiled sheepishly.
Felix snorted, shoving twelve fries into his mouth at once, as he cuddled into Jisung’s side, much like you were doing with Jaemin in the booth seat across from theirs.
Jisung and Felix were an incredibly good-looking couple. You’d grown somewhat used to how pretty Felix was, but Jisung looked like a prince from another direction and it startled you every time you glanced in his direction.
Still, biased though you might be, you didn’t really think anyone was in the same league as Jaemin, whose name you just found out three minutes ago.
“You’d know what if you actually asked his name before you decided to shove your tongue down his throat.” Felix sassed.
You narrowed your eyes at him.
“You really want to go there, Felix? You really want to bring that up when I saw Jisung squeeze your ass right in front of my salad two seconds ago?”
Jaemin guffawed loudly as Felix choked on his water. Jisung just gave a tiny smile, not looking the least bit ashamed or sorry.
“Touche,” Felix squeaked.
“Isn’t a relationship going to be complicated for you?” you whispered worriedly to Jaemin as Felix and Jisung talked amongst themselves.
Jaemin’s smile dropped and he looked completely serious now, scaring you a bit as he took your hands in his.
“No matter how hard or complicated it gets, I won’t let that get in the way, Y/N. I’ve waited for you way too long to let my work get in the way. I want you to know I’m serious about this, Y/n, serious about you. I can’t guarantee that we’ll last forever, but I’ll do my part in trying.”
You stared, speechless, for a moment, trying very hard to keep your tears at bay.
The moment was ruined when Felix and Jisung groaned.
“You guys are disgusting.”
“WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP?!”

“So,” Jisung said evenly, “when exactly were you going to tell me that you’re seeing Y/N?”
Facing him on the sofa, one leg tucked under the other, Chan let out a surprised huff of air. “I- Why do you care? I thought you were in an open relationship?”
“But that doesn’t mean we don’t tell each other when we’re dating someone new!” Jisung retorted, trying to keep his voice even.
Chan’s eyes widened. “I just assumed she would’ve told you…”
“She didn’t,” Jisung said flatly.
Silence descended for a full three minutes, the tension growing by the second, as both young men refused to speak. Jisung struggled to keep his features fairly neutral, even as he seethed, because, as much as he admired Chan and loved their friendship, his friend was a real bastard when he wanted to be.
“Well, I don’t know what to tell you, Jisung.” Chan’s tone was flippant as he continued to stare at the ceiling. “Take it up with Y/N.”
“What?” Jisung demanded incredulously. He couldn’t believe Chan could be so… So cold.
“I said—“
“I know what you said,” Jisung interrupted, “but I can’t believe you’d betray our friendship like this!”
“Betray our friendship?” Chan ran a hand through his hair. “What the hell, Jisung? It’s not like we’ve told each other about relationships in the past?”
Jisung scoffed. “What relationships, Chan? You haven’t had time to so much as have a quick fuck, let alone an actual relationship.”
“Thanks, Jisung. That’s real nice.”
“It’s not like I’m wrong!” Jisung shot to his feet and pushed the coffee table further into the room with his boot, unable to sit still anymore.
“That doesn’t mean you can insult me.” Chan countered, also rising, arms crossed.
“Likewise, Chan,” Jisung spat, gesticulating wildly. “And just by not telling me, you’ve insulted our friendship.”
“Great!” Chan exclaimed, keeping his distance at the other end of the couch. “I’ve gone and insulted our friendship. Why is this my fault all of a sudden? What about Y/N? Aren’t you going to acknowledge that some of this is on her?”
Jisung spluttered. “Yeah, fine. It is. But you’re my best friend and you should’ve told me, especially since you seem to think you and she are this great power couple or something!”
“I do not!”
“Then why’d you give her that necklace, huh?”
“Jisung,” Chan said placatingly, holding his hands out like he’d calm a wild animal, “I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but I do care about Y/N.”
Jisung fought not to roll his eyes.
“I really like her,” Chan continued. “She’s just— I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like I’ve been spinning out of focus, away from my center. And then she just appears in my life one day, and suddenly I know where I am again.” He paused to take a breath, as if steeling himself. “Being with her feels amazing.”
Jisung finally did lose control of his expression, sneering as he rolled his eyes.
“Come on, that’s not what I meant,” Chan said flatly. “I’m talking about her personality, her laugh, her mind, everything, Jisung. You know what it’s like, I know you do.” Jisung’s lips pressed together in a tight line, but he remained silent as Chan sat down on the sofa again. “She’s so easy to be around, to spend time with. I honestly feel I’ve been waiting for something all my life and now I’ve found it—I’ve found her.”
Jisung sighed and acquiesced to perching on the arm of his sofa, if not fully sitting again. “Fine. I know what you mean about being drawn to her.” Chan looked like he was about to crow. “But still, you could’ve said something, man.”
“I wanted to, but didn’t know how!” Chan blurted. “And I thought… Since I gave her the necklace and she wore it… But she didn’t tell you?”
“Nope, she hasn’t said a thing, besides saying that she was going on dates. Which were casual. So she didn’t need to tell me anything else.” Jisung tried not to smirk. “You might want to check how serious she thinks it is with you,” he said in mock warning.
Chan seemed to deflate like a balloon losing air, but rose to his feet again nevertheless. Jisung just watched, his heart pounding. “Whatever, Jisung,” Chan mumbled as he stopped halfway across the room, then let himself out. “Bye.”
Jisung didn’t move from where he’d collapsed on the couch for a long time, thinking about everything that had just happened. Sure, he probably shouldn’t have said something so inflammatory to Chan, but that didn’t excuse the facts of the situation. But then again…
Over the past hour, it was as if every feeling of inadequacy, every insecurity had clawed their way out of the deep, mental grave Jisung had worked so hard to dig for them. Knowing that Chan—his best friend, the man he looked up to as a musician and as a person—was seeing you in some capacity made him doubt his own worth. How could he compare to the paradigm that was Bang Chan? Well, maybe not a paradigm, but he was certainly admirable. Jisung still couldn't believe he was dating someone so wonderful as you, so Chan dating you felt too much like him winning some competition of which Jisung hadn’t even known he was a part. Just the thought made him feel like vines were slithering under his skin, constricting him from within. He wondered if Changbin knew, since he lived with Chan, and what he thought if he did.
Jisung couldn’t help thinking that you wearing Chan’s necklace when neither he nor Changbin had given you anything like that felt like Chan was staking his claim. He knew it sounded ridiculous, like Chan was some wolf unable to control his instincts, but you were wearing jewelry that Jisung had seen around his friend’s neck for the past three years, without fail, which he knew meant the world to Chan. So, did that mean that you meant the world to Chan? That you were Chan’s more than his and Changbin’s, even though they were both actually dating you and Chan was, as far as he knew, simply seeing you casually? You hadn’t told him about seeing Chan, so it couldn’t be that serious, right? But that necklace… Seeing it on your neck made your tie with Chan seem more, well, real than his own.
Chan’s insistence that you were the one for him didn’t soothe Jisung’s anxiety, either. And, the fact that Jisung suspected he felt something similar made it all more complicated. He sighed and held his head in his hands, rubbing his temples as his elbows dug into his knees slightly more painfully than he would have liked, but he didn’t care. He just wanted to sleep or do something mindless, to not worry about his relationships or anything else. With a whining groan, Jisung stood and made his way to his bedroom. Maybe some alone time and a nap would help.
↠↞
You kissed Jisung goodbye as he and Chan headed next door, and Changbin tried not to look too forlorn at not being able to kiss Jisung, too. He didn’t much like how there were starting to be more and more secrets between the four of you. When you came back into the kitchen from retrieving your cardigan from exactly where you thought it was—not in the laundry as Chan had assumed—Changbin was washing the mixing bowls you’d used, trying not to splash water all over your kitchen and himself (again). You joined him next to the sink, drying whatever he handed you and putting it away.
Once the last fork had been washed and returned to live among its pointy brethren, the two of you made your way into through the living room where the tins of cookies still sat on the coffee table.
“How mad do you think Jisung would be if I ate all the chocolate chip cookies?” Changbin asked, grinning as he reached for a tin.
“Very,” you replied, knowing your boyfriend wouldn’t really eat the cookies Jisung had already claimed for himself. “But you should still give me one of those.”
Changbin opened the tin and gave you two before heading toward the bedroom.
Kicking off your shoes, you flopped onto the bed next to Changbin, slinging an arm around his shoulders to run your fingers through his hair. He rested his hand on your thigh, gently massaging your muscles—it was nothing erotic, just comforting. The dull light of the winter afternoon filtered through your curtains, catching the two silver rings Changbin had started wearing.
“So,” Changbin began, “how was your week? I’m sorry I’ve been so busy and haven’t been able to talk to you as much.” He leaned over and kissed your cheek, making you smile softly.
“No, no, no! Babe, don’t worry about it! Eh, my week was okay,” you shrugged, now twisting a lock of hair at the base of Changbin’s neck between two fingers. “I got cleared for graduation, so that’s something. But I still have way too much to do before spring break.” You sighed, letting your head sink further into your nest of pillows as you turned to Changbin. “Weren’t you in the studio a bunch this week?”
A sly look crept over Changbin’s countenance as he said, “As a matter of fact…”
You waited a beat for him to continue and when he didn’t you prompted: “Yes?”
“I was in the studio this week—most nights, actually.” Changbin made to rise. “Here, I’ll be right back.”
Before Changbin could return to the bedroom, you snatched one of the cookies he’d left on the bedside table; after all, why should you eat one of your own and have one cookie fewer for later when you could just steal one of your boyfriend’s? It was so delicious that you thought that whoever had written the recipe for these cookies was a genius and deserved a medal. As Changbin walked back into the room, you tried not to look too guilty as you licked the crumbs from your lips. He looked from you to the bedside table and back again.
“Y/N, I— Are you eating one of my cookies?” Changbin said in mock outrage, coming over to your side of the bed and standing over you.
You just stared up at the ceiling, feigning innocence. Changbin leaned down and caught your lips with his, kissing you so thoroughly that you were left breathless. When he straightened, you noticed that your pocket felt one cookie lighter. Sure enough, he’d stolen one of your cookies while he’d been kissing you.
“You little shit!” you cried, quickly sitting up and playfully jabbing Changbin in the stomach, causing him to let out a huff of air.
“Well, you stole one of mine, so it’s only fair,” he said loftily, popping the cookie into his mouth. All you could do was shake your head.
“Close your eyes, love,” Changbin said, and you made a noise of confusion. “Just wait a minute and you’ll know.”
You heard some strangely slithery noises, then felt something come to rest on your bed that was not your boyfriend. Once he’d climbed back up onto the bed and laid down beside you, he gently pulled your hands down from your eyes. “It’s a gift, love.”
The first thing you saw was your old boombox at the end of your bed, an extension chord trailing from it and across the room. In front of you on the bed was a small, rectangular package that looked very familiar….
“Did you…? Is that what I think it is?” you asked, hoping your guess was correct.
“How about you open it, love,” Changbin said, smiling.
You held the gift in your hand, then tore the brown paper from it to reveal a cassette tape.
For Y/N, the most beautiful and wonderful woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. Enjoy, love ♡
“A mixtape,” you breathed, turning it over in your hands. “So this is what you were working on this week, babe?”
“Mhmmm,” Changbin hummed, nuzzling your neck. “I hope you love it.”
“I know I will, babe. Let’s listen to it now!” you said excitedly, and leaned forward to slip the cassette into the slot on the boombox, then pressed Play. Changbin held out his arms and you leaned against him, sinking into his chest. As always, Changbin arms were strong and warm around you as the mixtape began to play.
The first song was slow and mellow, setting the mood for the rest of the mixtape and how Changbin felt about you. You’d always known that he had a romantic nature and he’d demonstrated that many times, but the way he described his feelings for you in the lyrics he’d written… You couldn’t help the tears that began to tumble down your cheeks. As you listened to the mixtape in silence, breaking it only with laughs or sighs of deep emotion, you were stunned by the depth of emotion.
“Oh Changbin,” you murmured, turning in his arms to caress his cheek, “you have no idea how much this means to me.” Your hands twined behind Changbin’s neck as you brought your lips to his, lingering at the corner of his mouth before you kissed along his jaw up to his ear. “I feel just the same,” you whispered, and Changbin’s quick intake of breath felt like the fluttering of a bird’s wings against your chest.
“Love, oh love,” Changbin breathed as he drew you down onto the pillows, his body covering yours like a shield. “I’d hoped you did.”
Just then, raised voices came from Jisung’s apartment. You and Changbin looked at each other, wide-eyed. It was unusual for both Jisung and Chan to argue, let alone yell, so something must truly be wrong.
“Should we check on them?” you asked, coming out of your music-induced haze. “That doesn’t sound good…”
“I think they’ll be okay,” Changbin replied, sighing and staring up at the ceiling. He had a feeling he knew what the argument was about, but he wasn’t going to say anything. Not yet, at least. He hoped nothing would happen to 3racha because of the conflict, but he didn’t recall Jisung mentioning anything to him.
“Are you sure?” you prodded, hoping it had nothing to do with you.
“Yeah, I’m sure we’ll hear about it at some point.” Changbin tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “Shall we get back to kissing, then?”
You laughed and nodded, craning your neck to catch Changbin’s lips with yours.
The next morning—Sunday morning—Changbin awoke slowly and simply laid there, admiring you the way the sunlight seemed to shimmer over your hair like quicksilver. He was struck by how lucky he was to be with you, to know you, to-
“Mmmmm, ‘morning, baby,” you mumbled, rolling over to snuggle into Changbin’s chest—his bare skin was warm and soft, the perfect counterpoint to the cool air of the room. He kissed your hair, wrapping an arm around and shifting so you could fit yourself against the curve of his body.
After a few minutes of gently stroking your back, following the same lines he’d frantically raked nails down the night before, Changbin murmured, “Y/N, love . . . pancakes.” You giggled softly at your boyfriend’s seemingly one-track mind—he’d been exclaiming his joy of making pancakes even before you’d gone to bed.
“Y/N….” Changbin repeated, his breath tickling the sensitive skin of your neck and sending little shivers down your spine. You threw a leg over his, bringing your bodies even closer and noting that pancakes were not the only things Changbin desired. Still not answering, you scrunched your nose against his chest and began to leave little kisses along the lines of his muscles.
“Mmmm?”
“Love, Jisung’s going to be here soon and we should make pancakes so we can all have breakfast.”
You moved your hand from just under your breastbone to between you and Changbin. He moaned as your fingers slid over him, and, suddenly, pancakes were all but forgotten. Changbin pressed himself into your hand as he hardened under your touch, and he began to kiss along your neck, nipping at the skin. You traced the very tip of him with a finger, then ran your hand up and down, still with the same lazy slowness. Changbin’s hands moved to grip your ass, squeezing and placing you on top of him as he rolled onto his back.
Now that you were pressed firmly to Changbin, the obvious hardness of him teased you to no end. His hands still on your ass, gently massaging, your boyfriend pulled you further up his body so that you were chest-to-chest and nearly nose-to-nose. Your lips met, soft and gentle, and you kissed languidly; Changbin swiped his tongue along the seam of your mouth, slipping inside to explore each and every hollow, plane, and crevice of your teeth, your tongue, your lips.
Propping yourself up a little, you sighed as the brush of your skin against his sent pleasurable shivers down your spine. “Baby, please,” you breathed against Changbin’s lips as you slid your body up and down over his, imitating the motion you craved, hungrily kissing him.
“I don’t have a condom on, love,” Changbin said, a laugh coloring his voice. “I—“
“I’m on the pill, Changbin, you know that. And I know that you’re incredibly healthy.” You nipped at his jaw, then begged again. “Please.”
“Y/N, love,” Changbin said not unkindly, “I’m not taking any risks, okay?” He reached out to your bedside table, hand scrabbling a little, then came up with the little foil square.
“You’re right—I just got carried away,” you said, conceding.
“It’s okay, love, really.”
Sighing, you sat back on Changbin’s thighs as he slid the condom on, then stroked him so sweetly and lovingly that he rose and swelled immediately—you may have licked your lips a little. Changbin’s moans at your ministrations were soft, like the sigh of the wind through a field of wheat.
You leaned forward to kiss Changbin and you groaned with pleasure as you joined together, your boyfriend letting you slowly adjust. Changbin’s hands came up to hold your breasts, thumbs flicking over them as you continued to kiss, and you rolled your hips, luxuriating in the sensation of him inside you.
It was utterly exquisite.
As you kissed and kissed, sharing breaths and moans of pleasure, you moved together like the ebb and flow of the sea. The little words of encouragement and affection you shared seemed to bare your innermost feelings through their simplicity. Everything was slow and easy, just enjoying the feel of each other—your body felt tight and utterly molten at the same time, your core turned white-hot with desire.
Shifting so Changbin could find that perfect spot, you kissed along his neck, tasting the fine sheen of sweat that had begun to form on his skin. The new angle drove, even pulled, Changbin into you, and his brows knit as little groans low in his throat escaped his lips. Your pleasure began to slide down your spine like the inexorable glide of a glacier, gathering more and more power with every inch.
And finally, the pulsing deep inside seeming to reverberate through your bones, and all you could do was cling to Changbin as you gasped and cried out. The sense of overwhelming bliss was so intense that you thought you would surely cry. Changbin did not slow in his pace, even as you came down from that wondrous high, until his hips stuttered and with a few quick thrusts that forced moaning whines from you, he, too, found his release.
He held you to him, the warmth of your bodies nearly melding you together as your body seemed to refuse to relinquish its hold around him. Once both of you had regained your breath, you once again became two separate people and helped clean each other off.
Cuddling among your nest of pillows, you contented yourself with tracing the planes of Changbin’s stomach as he lazily ran a finger up and down your bicep. Your foreheads nearly touched on the pillow, and when your eyes met from time to time, your smiles were luminous. As always, with Changbin, you felt absolutely serene.
With a jolt, you woke from a light doze next to Changbin and realized that if you didn’t get out of bed right at that moment, there was no way you’d ever get up. Maybe you’d tell Jisung to join the two of you in bed and make a lazy day of it… Just as you were reaching for your phone, though, Changbin slid out of bed and stood with his hands on his hips; you looked up guiltily at him.
“Pancakes,” was all Changbin said.
It was now a tradition for Jisung and Changbin to come over to your apartment on Sunday mornings for pancakes, tea, and more cuddling and soft kisses than you knew what to do with. As Changbin helped watch the pancakes, you could tell something was on his mind, but knew that he’d say something if it was that important. You pressed a kiss to his bare shoulder before finding a spoon with which to scrape the pancake batter down the sides of the bowl.
A moment later, Jisung ambled into the kitchen, hair still slightly disheveled from sleep, his arms entirely swallowed by the hoodie he was wearing. “Hey, babe,” he said, coming over to you and wrapping his arms around your waist and rest his head on your shoulder. “These smell delicious!” He kissed your cheek, and you hummed in reply, not needing words to express your happiness in seeing him or having his arms around you.
You took the spatula from Changbin and began turning the pancakes, trying your best not to fling them off the griddle. Jisung gave you a tight squeeze, let go of you, and moved two steps to the right to throw his arms around Changbin. “Hey, babe,” he said to him, too. Changbin turned in Jisung’s arms and smoothed his boyfriend’s hair before lightly kissing him.
He leaned against the counter, hands clasped together at the small of Jisung’s back so that Jisung could simply lean into him. You turned your head to see Jisung draped against Changbin’s bare chest so he could look up at the other young man, a syrupy grin on his face.
Your heart swelled with affection for both of them, and you had to brace yourself against the counter for a moment. It was genuinely easy to be with both of them in this new, wonderful relationship. There was so much trust built between you already—Jisung and Changbin’s three years of friendship lending an even firmer foundation to it all—and you knew, with as much certainty as you’d ever felt before, that the three of you were meant to be together.
Soon, the pancakes were done, the tea had brewed, and Changbin and Jisung were still kissing—although, they did pause for a moment to allow you to kiss both of their noses and say, “Time for breakfast, hot stuff.” You lead the way into the living room where you usually ate together, as Changbin went to finally put on a shirt.

Changbin leaned back on the couch, his knees pulled up to his chest, while Jisung leaned against his shoulder, lightly rubbing his pleasantly full stomach. On Changbin’s other side, your mug of tea was warmth enough for you at the moment.
“Um, I think we need to have a talk,” Changbin said quietly after awhile.
“Is everything- What am I saying, of course something’s up,” Jisung said, concerned—your brows furrowed.
Changbin ran a hand through his hair, then spoke. “First, I want to say that I’m in no way blaming anyone or making them bad or wrong. I just kind of want to know what’s going on.” He took a deep breath. “So, last weekend when I woke up, I ran into Chan in the hallway outside our rooms with a tray of breakfast. I knew he had to have somebody over, since he’d asked me to be somewhere else.” He looked at Jisung, who gave him a wink. “But of course I wasn’t going to ask who, right? But um, Y/N? I think I heard your voice coming out of Chan’s room, and then a lot of giggling. And, well, a really loud moan and Chan saying to be quiet because I was home.” Changbin’s gaze was so earnest and open, while Jisung’s was a bit… pained, perhaps.
You let out a sigh, having known this day would come at some point. “Shit, yeah… that was me,” you admitted, embarrassed despite the fact that both Changbin and Jisung had made you moan and beg and scream far louder than you’d done that morning. “I’m so sorry you had to hear that, Changbin. I had no idea you were home or anything.”
“It’s okay,” he said, resting a hand on your knee in reassurance.
Jisung made to speak, but you held up a hand. “Could I explain first? Yes, I’ve gone on a few dates with Chan. Yes, we’ve had sex. Once. I hadn’t told you yet because it wasn’t serious and we agreed—“
“But it’s Chan! He’s our best friend, babe,” Jisung blurted.
“And I just met him a couple months ago,” you replied evenly. “Just because he’s your friend doesn’t mean I was going to treat him any differently from any of the other people I’ve seen.”
“So, you’ve been seeing other people even besides Chan?” Changbin wanted to know.
“Not since the middle of December—I’ve got both hands full with you two,” you said, smiling and winking. “Things with Chan kind of snowballed, if that makes sense? After winter break, we came back and he wasn’t so weirdly flirty anymore. And you’ve got to admit, he’s attractive!”
“Y/N, just because someone’s attractive, doesn’t mea—“
“That’s not what I meant, Jisung. Not being flirted at every other day over break allowed me to see that he’s a perfectly lovely guy. It’s been fun.” You shrugged. It wasn’t as if you felt at all toward Chan like you did toward Jisung and Changbin. They were… The bond between all three of you was iron-clad and effervescent, the threads between you weaving together to form a rich tapestry of feelings, responsibilities, and priorities. “I didn’t start going on dates with him with the idea ‘Let me see how fast I can fall in love with this person’ running through my head. I- I thought I made it clear to him that things were just casual. I never promised anything, and he knew we were taking things really slow. I guess something slipped through the cracks.”
There was a beat of silence, then Jisung coughed nervously, looking down at his hands twisting in his lap. “So, you know how I talked with Chan yesterday?” he began, and you and Changbin nodded. “I asked—okay, fine, confronted—Chan about you two.”
“Oh, so that’s what the arguing was about!” Changbin said with exaggerated, only partially feigned surprise.
Jisung blanched. “Um, yeah, sorry. I saw you,” he turned to Y/N, “wearing his compass necklace and kind of lost my head.”
“Oh my god,” you moaned, grimacing. “Are you serious?”
Jisung cackled. “Yeah, sorry. You know how he— Well, I guess you don’t necessarily know, but sometimes he gets really solemn and serious, to the point that it’s almost funny. That’s how it was… Once I finally got it out of him.” Changbin put his head in his hands, knowing just what Jisung meant. “He’s head-over-heels for you, Y/N.”
“Well, shit," you grumbled, not having expected this. "And yet again, Bang Chan is cheesy as hell."
“Yeah… kind of,” Jisung sighed. “But this is different. I don’t think he knows the significance of what he did. I mean, do you even know the significance of what he did?”
“Jisung,” Changbin warned.
“No, you don’t understand. In the three years I’ve known him, I’ve never seen Chan take that necklace off. Not even to go swimming. And now he’s given the thing to you!” Jisung threw up his hands, knowing that he probably shouldn’t be telling you any of this; but, he didn’t exactly care right now. “He thinks you’re the one for him, his compass. He was going on and on about how he’d felt like something was missing but now it’s like everything’s fallen into place because of you.”
“I don’t even have the thing anymore,” you felt the need to add quickly. “I slipped it back into his jacket before he left! Wearing it for a week was more than enough. I don’t like to wear chokers much, anyway.”
Jisung raised his eyebrows, not expecting you to have done that. “Really?”
“I mean, it was pretty and I thought it would be rude not to wear it.” Your statement curled up at the end like a question. “It’s not like it’s a binding promise or anything.”
“Oh, okay!” Jisung said with more excitement than was wholly appropriate. “But you might want to tell him that you’re not into him as much as he’s clearly into you.”
“I know, I know, Ji,” you said with a sigh. “I will.”
“Good. I’m glad we got that cleared up,” he said, nodding proudly. “I was worried that you’d somehow decided to break our trust by not telling us you were actually dating him.”
“What?” The word sounded like it had been punched from your gut. “I would never— I- Why would you think that?”
“I didn’t want to think that, but he made it seem like things were more serious than you say they are. I know he falls hard for people, and I trust you, Y/N—I didn’t want to think the worst.” Jisung curled his legs under himself as he settled back into the sofa.
“And what about you?” you demanded of Changbin.
“Me?” Changbin asked, his eyes wide. “I didn’t let myself make assumptions until I’d talked to you.”
Your heart hurt a little at their faith in you, that they didn’t want to believe that you’d go against your agreement, especially with their best friend. “You- You really believed me more than Chan?”
“Eh, it wasn’t between the two of you—not exactly,” Changbin responded. “Since he does fall in love or whatever with surprising depth and speed, and you're definitely sensible and cautious, it was more likely that he was the one misinterpreting things.”
You didn’t know what to say, and so simply leaned forward to gently kiss your boyfriends each in turn, leaving them smiling.
“You know, Jisung,” you said after a minute, “you and Changbin still need to tell Chan that you’re also dating.”
The two young men looked at each other, and you could almost see the words passing between them:
Shit, I didn’t tell him. Did you?
No, I thought you did. Shit.
You giggled.
“Um, yeah you’re probably right.” Jisung tried his best not to look too guilty as he looked away from Changbin. “That’s going to be such a fun conversation.”
“Hey, it’ll be okay, babe,” Changbin reassured Jisung, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and pulling him closer.
“Yeah, I guess.” Jisung leaned his head against Changbin’s shoulder, and a quiet moment stretched between you.
“So, we’ll tell him we’re dating if you tell him that you’re dating both of us. Deal?” Changbin said more understandingly than you thought you deserved.
“Deal,” you said, smiling a sideways grin.
“Deal,” Jisung agreed.
“Okay, not to totally break the mood or anything, but I have to pee,” you stated, standing up. “I’ll be right back, babies.”
A moment after you left the room, Jisung curled closer to Changbin. He absolutely did not want things to change between the three of you. Of that much he was certain, especially not when you’d just affirmed an even closer relationship than before. He didn’t want Chan’s relationship or whatever it was with you coming between what you already had with himself and Changbin. Jisung whispered, “I just didn’t want him to take her from us. Am I a bad person for wanting that?”
Changbin took a deep breath. “No,” he replied, “I don’t think so. I was thinking the same thing.”
“What should we do, then?”
“I don’t think we should do anything, Ji,” Changbin said simply. “It’s their relationship.”
“Yeah, but—“
“Love, it’s their relationship and they should figure it out. In terms of us, it’s clear she’s not going anywhere.” His tone was firm, as if Changbin couldn’t—wouldn’t—consider an alternative.
Jisung nodded and turned his face into Changbin’s shoulder to plant a kiss there, holding his lips against his friend and lover’s body. Just then, you came back into the room and sat squarely in Changbin’s lap with your legs over Jisung.
The two young men adjusted their positions slightly to accommodate you, the three of you falling into each other with such ease that one would have thought you’d been dating for years. You sighed and relaxed into Changbin’s chest, Jisung pulling you closer across Changbin’s lap as the two of you now nuzzled your boyfriend. The smell of your soap still clung to Changbin’s skin, and, despite having only been awake for three hours, you felt yourself drifting towards sleep in the comfortable embrace of your boyfriends. Jisung’s hand gently rubbed circles into your hip.
“You know,” Jisung said after a while, “I stopped seeing other people back in December when you said were jealous and had deeper feelings than you’d previously thought.”
“Where’s this coming from, Ji?” you mumbled, shifting a bit so that you sat nearly between him and Changbin. “You don’t have to reassure me or defend yourself or something.”
“It’s not that—I just wanted to tell you that because once we got together, I was so comfortable and into you that I didn’t feel like I wanted or needed to see anybody else.” Jisung leaned forward and somehow managed to wedge himself between you and Changbin, successfully resting his face against your breasts—this was not uncommon.
“Yeah?”
“Mhmmmm” was his only answer as he closed his eyes.
“Not that I’d been dating other people at the same time as you,” Changbin added, kissing your hair, “but I care about you just as much as I know Jisung does. And that’s a considerable amount, love.”
You smiled softly, hardly daring to believe that you had two such caring and devoted, not to mention sexy, boyfriends who also cared just as much about each other. It was more than you’d ever expected or dreamed. As you sat there in the blissful place between sleep and wakefulness, you were overcome with the depth of your feelings for Jisung and Changbin. It didn’t scare you, no. And for that, you were glad.
A twinge of remorse flitted through you at the knowledge that your feelings were not nearly as strong for Chan, but you didn’t know him as well. Even when you’d known and been seeing Jisung and Changbin for the same amount of time, your feelings had still been stronger than what you felt for Chan. Plus, there wasn’t the same sense of being pulled inexorably toward both Jisung and Changbin like you were magnets. You couldn’t escape it even if you’d wanted to—and you most certainly didn’t.
All you could do was bring your lips to Changbin’s and kiss him over and over, until Jisung sensed what was happening and sat up to pull you against him instead. Jisung’s lips were soft and warm, like the most silken caramel you could imagine, and you were soon fully awake and kissing passionately as Changbin’s hand smoothed the muscles up and down your back. Jisung’s little moans at being so thoroughly happy and comfortable were the sweetest thing you’d ever heard.
When you raked your fingers through his hair, he became utterly lost to your touch, whining and running his hands over as much of you as he could. Changbin’s hand had moved from Jisung’s shoulders to his thigh, slowly moving higher and higher; he wouldn’t stray any further, but it was enough to make Jisung wriggle. You continued threading your fingers through his hair as Changbin smoothed his thumb along your cheekbone and you kissed along Jisung’s jaw until you encountered the slightly calloused but soft skin of Changbin’s palm. Your lips simply slid from one curving line to another as you leaned into Changbin’s touch.
Limbs, breaths, kisses utterly intermingled and where one person ended and the others began was nearly indistinguishable as the soft caresses between the three of you continued. As wave after wave of tenderness washed over you, the intensity of emotion you felt threatened to make you cry. You knew that what you felt came very, very close to love.

Seated at the small table by the window of your usual cafe and sipping on a latte, you waited for Chan to arrive. Snow flurries danced along the street, whipped about by a surprisingly insistent wind. It had been a week and a half since Jisung had confronted him about seeing you, and, while you’d texted and called each other, this was the first time you’d seen Chan. The bell above the door of the cafe tinkled as he came through the door, shaking snow from his hair. Chan’s ears and cheeks were bright red from the cold, making him look ten years younger and extremely cute.
You stood as he approached and squished his cheeks a little between your hands while kissing his nose… to warm him up, of course. Chan laughed, and pulled you into a one-armed hug as he began to shrug off his jacket before taking a seat.
“So, what’s up, darling?” he said, leaning forward on the table to face you.
“Well, I wanted to talk about us,” you said frankly, wishing you could muster more tact and failing.
“Oh, okay.” Chan looked only marginally surprised, and waited for you to continue.
“Jisung told me that he talked to you that one day we all baked cookies together,” you began. “Do you- Do you really feel that way?”
Chan was silent for a moment. “What way?”
“Like I’m… Like I’m your compass?”
“Yeah, I do.” His voice was absolutely serious.
“Oh, Chan,” you breathed, putting your face in your hands. “I wish you hadn’t said that.”
“Y/N…” Chan said, not understanding and reaching across the table for you.
“Chan, I’m really not sure what to say,” you murmured, looking back up at him. “I wasn’t expecting you to feel that strongly for me so soon.”
Chan’s hand paused just inches from your hand and he slowly drew it back to his side before speaking. “Is it that you don’t feel the same?”
“I—“ You paused. “Sorry, this is surprisingly hard. Chan, it’s not that I don’t like you or am not interested. I’m just not at the same level of feeling as you, that’s all. I don’t want you to think that I’m ready to be yours forever or something.”
Chan balked slightly, your words clearly hitting just a little too close to home. He looked down at the table, his throat bobbing once as he swallowed. “I understand. Is this why you didn’t tell Jisung we’d gone on a couple dates? Because it wasn’t as serious for you?”
“Yes,” you said simply, knowing you were treading on dangerous ground.
“Ah. Well, we can go slowly, Y/N. It’s okay.” Chan’s tone was resolute, as if he wanted to simply make everything better by stating that it would be.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to somehow shackle you when you could be with someone who’s on your same level emot—“
“I’d much rather be with you, darling,” Chan interrupted with a soft smile.
“O-okay,” you nodded. You sat there for a moment, just staring at your hands as fiddled with your thumb.
“Shall we have some tiramisu, then?” Chan asked with a wink, trying his best to break the somber mood.
You let out a huff of air that could have been a laugh. “Sure, Chan, that sounds good.”

Changbin sighed happily as he leaned back on his couch, a glass of wine in one hand and Jisung’s hand in the other. They’d been watching a television show earlier, but now just sat together, reminiscing. Now that they’d realized and admitted their feelings for each other, and were dating, they both saw the myriad ways in which their mutual attraction had manifested over the years, unbeknownst to them. Mostly unbeknownst to them.
Jisung sat facing Changbin on the couch, one leg thrown over his lap and the other tucked under himself, tracing the lines of his boyfriend’s body. When he reached Changbin’s ear, he took his time following the spiraling shape until he then moved to his jaw.
“Bin, whatcha thinking about?” Jisung said, tilting his head to the side as he traced the faint scar on Changbin’s chin.
“The first time I realized how I felt about you,” Changbin replied, smiling lazily.
“Was that the day by the lake? With the duck?”
“How did you know?”
“Well, you know,” Jisung purred, “I thought you looked cute as hell that day, too.”
“I- Really? I could’ve sworn you had absolutely no interest. None. I still can’t believe this is real.” Changbin’s tone was wondering.
“Yeah, I did. And yeah, this is real,” Jisung reassured him, kissing his earlobe and making Changbin shiver. “I’ve definitely liked you since then. So much, babe, you have no idea.”
Changbin turned his face to Jisung and caught the other young man’s lips with his own, smiling at the slightly sweet taste of him. Jisung swiped his tongue along the seam of Changbin’s mouth and he moaned as they came together, searching every hollow and plane of each other’s mouths. Kiss after kiss, some lingering and some heated. Jisung’s hands were in Changbin’s hair as their passion consumed them, while Changbin took care to hold Jisung like he was the most precious thing he’d ever known.
They broke the kiss, gasping slightly, and Jisung brought Changbin’s hand to his lips, kissing the space behind his thumb before turning his boyfriend’s hand over to kiss the inside of his wrist. Changbin’s mouth quirked up in what might have been a smirk before the other side joined its opposite to create a softly radiant smile that made his eyes sparkle.
Just as Jisung was leaning in to kiss Changbin again—and maybe more, if he had anything to say about it—the door to the apartment clicked open and Chan’s voice floated down the hall.
“Changbin? You home, man?”
“Aw, come on,” Changbin groaned, and tried to think of a nice, freezing cold bath.
Jisung quickly scooted away down the couch from Changbin, running a hand through his hair before taking a sip from his own glass of wine. “We should really tell him,” he murmured just as Chan entered the living room.
“Oh, hey Jisung,” he said, smiling happily at having his two best friends there.
“Hey, Chan.”
“So, what were you two up to—wine?” The latter part of the question was said with only a small amount of surprise. Chan enjoyed a nice glass of Pino Grigio every now and then.
“We were just watching TV and drinking a little,” Jisung answered.
“Hey, Chan,” Changbin started, “could we talk with you about something? It’s important.”
“Yeah, of course. What’s up?”
“Well, I have no idea how else to say this— Um, yeah. We know we’re all friends, so this should be okay and all… And we know you’re accepting and understanding.” Changbin sounded more nervous than he’d been in a long time, even to his own ears. “So, yeah. We’re dating. Jisung and I are dating.” Jisung nodded in affirmation. “And we’re both dating Y/N. We’re all dating each other, actually.”
Chan stared at him for a moment, then shrugged and nodded. “Yeah, okay. I see it. I’d wondered if there was something more going on back at the beginning of the month. So, you two are happy? The three of you are happy?” He tried his best not to sound accusatory, despite having no reason to be; he just wanted the best for these three people he cared about so much.
“We are,” Jisung said, beaming and gently rubbing Changbin’s knee to help soothe him. “And I know Y/N is, too.”
Chan just nodded again and said, “Well, I’m glad that you two have found even more happiness. And I’m glad that you can make Y/N happy, too. Oh, and don’t worry—this doesn’t affect 3racha.” He smiled. “Look, I’ve got some work to do, so I’ll see you both later, yeah?”
“See you!” Changbin and Jisung chorused, then went back to cuddling as soon as Chan left the room.
Chan opened the door to his bedroom and sighed. He was happy for his best friends, he really was. They had something together that he didn’t have with either of them—not in a romantic way, but just as friends. And… He sighed again, leaning against the now closed door. And, he was happy that you had both of them in your life so thoroughly.
It was just that, well, he felt a little pushed to the side. After all, he was friends with Jisung and Changbin, and he was seeing you—albeit casually—but he still didn’t feel like everything had shifted properly into place. Maybe there was something missing with you. Maybe 3racha just needed to get in the studio again…

It was the beginning of April, and the pollen had started to get to you. You let your head thump softly onto the desk in front of you, your pen slipping from your fingers to fall onto the what was soon becoming the bane of your existence: your final poetry project. It was maddening, trying to find just the right words and scansion, not to mention metaphors and allusions. Maybe it was the fact that you hadn’t eaten since noon, but your body felt like a withered corn husk. And, your mind would burst, if you weren’t careful; you couldn’t afford to let that happen, not three-quarters of the way through your last semester.
On the desk beside you, your phone buzzed and you checked it to see a text from Chan:
channie: hey darling <3 are we still on for tonight?
Shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!
You’d almost forgotten about your date with Chan, and now that he’d so kindly reminded you… Well, it would be rude to cancel now but you just didn’t have the energy.
You didn’t have the energy to be with Chan more often than not these days. It wasn’t that you didn’t like him—you were just busy. Really fucking busy. He was fun to kiss and cuddle and be intimate with, but you didn’t have the mental fortitude to actively be interested.
It was difficult to describe… You were certainly physically attracted to Chan, and found him engaging and fun to be around. But, there was something missing. Perhaps you’d been thrust into a time-loop where Chan was concerned—that would explain the way every single one of your dates felt the same these days. You didn’t feel like your, for lack of a better word, relationship was going anywhere, like your emotions and the time you spent together were static.
He was so deeply interested in and attracted to you that you sometimes wondered if you actually felt anything for him and if all of this was simply you reflecting his own desire back at him. But then you’d come to your senses and remember how much seeing his little dimple appear would make you grin and giggle to no end.
And now, you should really respond to Chan.
y/n: hey channie. um, i’m absolutely exhausted from this poetry project… could we maybe not do anything tonight? channie: sure baby! want me to just bring over some food and we can do or not do whatever you like! y/n: i- chan, i’m sorry. i meant: can we not get together tonight. i literally don't have the energy to deal with other people channie: aww sorry you’re feeling like that. sure, darling, whatever you need. maybe we can see each other tomorrow! y/n: wow your optimism knows no bounds…. [UNSENT]
Now you were even more tired and just wanted to curl up under the covers and never come out. That would solve all your problems, right? So, with the blanket snugly pulled over your head, you drifted off to sleep.
An hour later your phone buzzed again, waking you up, but it was Jisung this time. You weren’t quite sure how he knew you needed comforting, but he did and said he’d be over soon. You rolled over at the feeling of another body depressing the mattress, and let Jisung enfold you in his arms.
The next day, Chan did come over to find you sitting on your couch with a mug of tea in one hand and a scone in the other. (Jisung was going through a bit of a baking phase, and had insisted that you try one of his cranberry and orange scones). You hadn’t gotten out of bed until an hour before Chan was due to arrive, and your hair was still piled on top of your head in a messy topknot. Chan, on the other hand, looked far too awake and put-together, even in just jeans and a sweatshirt, for a Saturday morning.
“I brought us lunch,” he said, setting a bag down on the coffee table and flopping down beside you. “I hope you’re in the mood for sandwiches, because that’s all I had time to make.”
“It’s fine, Chan. I’ve got more scones than I know what to do with. Did Ji give you any?”
“No,” Chan said, shaking his head, “I think he must have given them all to you and Changbin. That little traitor.”
You stood briefly to turn in place and curl your feet back under you on the couch, much like a cat would, then took a sip of tea. Your heart pounded slightly faster than you would have liked. “I’m sure you’ll get scones at some point.”
“I’d better…” Chan began pulling four sandwiches from his bag, clearly having thought that Jisung and Changbin would stop by.
“You didn’t have to bring all of those,” you said, frowning. “They’re not coming over.”
“Hmm? Oh, no. I brought two for me and two for you—they’re not that big, so I’m almost certain that you’ll want two.”
“Pffftt, really?” you asked incredulously, then took a closer look at the food. “Yeah, okay. You’re right.”
The two of you sat and stared at the sandwiches for a moment, Chan clearly wanting to break into them, while you couldn’t care less. You stared out your window at the new growth on the trees.
“Don’t you want to eat?” Chan finally asked.
“Eh, not really. Like I said: scone.”
Chan seemed to think for a moment, then said, “Y/N, is everything okay?”
“Um, well… Damn it.” You sighed gustily, and set down your mug before turning to Chan on the couch. “Chan, I have no idea how else to say this…”
“It’s okay, I’ll listen, darling.”
You pursed your lips, biting your bottom lip. “Chan, I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry but I can’t do this anymore. I can’t try to feel things I don’t. I can’t try to sustain a relationship that feels like an obligation. I hate feeling like that because you don’t deserve to be with someone who can’t put one hundred percent into their relationship with you.” Chan’s face fell. “Things are just so busy for me right now, what with graduation coming in less than two months, all these projects and papers—everything. Plus, there’s Jisung and Changbin.
“I do like you Chan, and I do like spending time with you. And you’re wonderful in bed, don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I don’t want to spend time with you. I’ve just— If I’m going to be with you, too, then I want to devote the proper time to building that relationship, instead of catching bits and pieces when there’s time. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah, it does,” Chan admitted resignedly. “I respect your feelings and choices, if you want to stop seeing each other. I’m sorry you feel like us being together has become an obligation. That must not feel good, yeah?” You shook your head, grateful for how understanding he was being. “If you only want to see each other randomly or just have it be like friends-with-benefits—whatever’s fine with me. I’d just love to keep seeing you somehow.”
You thought for a moment, sipping on your tea again. Not having any expectations for your relationship with Chan would certainly make things easier…
“Yeah, okay,” you agreed. “Maybe we can just see each other when we have time and if we decide to make-out or go to bed or whatever, then okay? More like just enjoying each other’s company rather than trying to date?” You looked to Chan, who hadn’t taken his eyes off you the entire conversation. “How does that sound?”
“Anything you want, Y/N. Anything.” Chan gave you a sad little smile, then stood. “I’ll just leave the sandwiches and everything here. I’m sure I’ll see you again soon, anyway. I- I just need to go be by myself, if that’s okay. Bye, Y/N.” With that, Chan hurried from your apartment, pulling the hood of his sweatshirt up over his head as he did so.
You sighed to yourself once the door clicked shut, and got up to make yourself another cup of tea. By the time the water had boiled and you were back on the couch, your thoughts had ordered themselves.
Sure, Chan thought of you as his compass, the thing—well, person—guiding him and keeping him on track; he thought of you as an anchor. But you had something similar. You had a far stronger compass forged from two beings who, no matter how far you strayed, would always point you toward each other, toward home. Jisung and Changbin were your true north.

you’re gorgeous
Tumblr media
excerpt: ‘as he walked towards the exit of his favourite coffee shop, he glanced down at his cup. “YOU’RE GORGEOUS” was written in bold letters on the cup, in place of his name. he glanced back, and their eyes met.’
pairing: jeno x reader
genre: fluff, fluff and more fluff for the softest boy on the planet.
a/n: UNEDITED AND REALLY CRAPPY, I’M SORRY !
jeno sighed as he once again lost the “scissors, paper, rock,” game him and the dreamies were competing in for who had to go and buy their coffees.
for what seemed like the 1000th time, jeno sighed and stood up, gesturing for their orders, and then he was on his way, leaving behind 5 other boys who were hysterically laughing at his bad luck in anything he plays.
when he finally made it to his favourite coffee shop, he went straight to the counter and ordered 6 coffees, a muffin and a few extra shots of expresso into jaemin’s straight black coffee.
the cashier looked bewildered at the amount of expresso shots one of the coffees contained and looked at jeno with a mixture of concern and nervousness visible in his eyes, jeno paid no attention and quickly put the exact amount of money down on the counter, not even bothering to tell the cashier his name.
your workmate, han jisung, walks to stand beside you with an incredulous look on his face, “some guy just ordered 6 coffees and one had like 1000 shots of expresso in it, is he alright?”
you giggled and looked back at jeno, who was staring at the menu blankly, “that would be jeno, he comes in here just about every day for coffee. pretty sure once a pink haired guy came in and ordered exactly that order so he’s probably jeno’s friend. jeno seems pretty sane.. so i don’t think it’s his coffee.”
“how the hell do you know his name, you stalker? you never work the register,” jisung questions, eyes narrowing at you in suspicion.
“all of the older ladies who come in here know him, they all buy him sweets and coo over him to me whilst i make their coffee. i don’t think i’ve seen jeno actually express an emotion unless those women are around him. he’s pretty closed off.. i think he’s in an idol group too, a rapper and dancer if i’m not wrong.”
jisung just nods along to what you were saying until he hears ‘rapper and dancer’ which is where he begins freaking out, “NO WAY!! a rapper.. oh my gosh we could collab!!” you grab jisung by the hood of his jacket as he tries to make his way to jeno, and pull him back to stand at the register.
“do your job, squirrel.” jisung lunges at you in a joking manner and turns around to do his job, as you make jeno his 6 coffees.
whenever jeno comes in by his own means and only orders one coffee, he orders an iced mocha. so when you get to that cup, you quickly scribble a ‘YOU’RE GORGEOUS’ on the side of the cup in bold letters, not leaving your number or name. if jeno wants to know who you are, he can come back in and ask you personally.
you hand over the coffees to your other coworker, doyeon, and she sets them down on the counter, calling out jeno’s name. everyone in your small cafe probably knew jeno’s name and order off by heart, no one really comes in and he’s a regular so that explains it.
as jeno walked towards the exit of his favourite coffee shop, he glanced down at his cup. “YOU’RE GORGEOUS” was written in bold letters on the cup, in place of his name.
he glanced back, and your eyes met. you looked away quickly, but jeno still had an inkling. he knew it was probably you who wrote that on his cup, and he felt blood rush up his neck and straight to his cheeks, a surge of confidence led him to smile and wink cheekily at you as he walked out of the shop.
‘guess i’ll just have to wait until next time to get their name..’
it was weeks later, and jeno hadn’t returned. you had stopped looking over at the door in the hopes of seeing him every time the bell above the door chimed. in place of jeno, his friends who you had learned were chenle, jisung, haechan, jaemin and renjun would come and pick up the coffees. not all at once obviously, it was all out of order.
this began to worry you slightly, maybe you had scared jeno off and he was sending his friends instead of coming himself.
..that was what you thought, but in reality jeno had just been successfully winning the ‘scissors, paper, rock’ games consecutively over the past few weeks. just when he actually wanted to buy the coffees to get your name..
today the 6 dreamies had decided to all go together, they had time to kill and wanted to just chill without worrying about their packed schedules.
when 6 rowdy boys made their way in through the door, you looked up, grinning. today jisung and doyeon had the day off for different reasons (or maybe they were on a date.. but you weren’t one to pry) so you were manning the register on your own.
haechan was the one to come up to the counter and order, and the two of you did your secret handshake. “yo, hyuck! your usual?”
“nope, not today.. i actually wanted to know if you had any birthday cakes? jeno’s birthday was a few weeks ago and i didn’t get to celebrate with him, so...”
“yeah of course, you still want the coffees.. or?”
he slapped himself on the forehead in mock forgetfulness, “oh yeah how could i forget them,” he rolled his eyes cheekily at you. you just scoffed at him and proceeded to tell him that you’d have it all ready ASAP.
as hyuck turned away from the register and you turned to prepare the cake and coffees, you made direct eye contact with jeno who had been watching the interaction between you and hyuck with envy.
you smiled and nodded your head at him, winking cheekily to tease him for what happened a few weeks prior. jeno just looked down and blushed, smiling at the table in front of him.
jeno’s eyes widened comically as you brought over the cake, starting the ‘happy birthday song’ which lead to the other dreamies following in suit.
after jeno had cut the cake, the boys noticed he had reached the bottom of the cake with the knife.. which meant that he, “had to kiss the nearest girl,” they all began hollering and pushing jeno towards you, out of his seat.
you just shrugged, showing him that you were alright with it if he was. he grinned bashfully and you rolled your eyes, bringing him in for a kiss. jeno smiled into the kiss, which wasn’t unexpected coming from the smiley boy.
the dreamies kept up their hollering and began jumping around in celebration, thankfully the 7 of you were the only ones in the cafe.
after you pulled away from the kiss, jeno looked down at you, “and i don’t even know your name..”
“it’s ___, but you can call me anytime.” the dreamies all gagged at your cheesy pick up line, whereas jeno found it to be hilarious.
“they’re perfect for each other, no sense of humour at all!” chenle screeched, whacking jeno on the back in the process. which then led to jeno giving him a death glare that made him sit back down in his seat silently.
the dreamies invited you to eat cake with them, and seeing as no one else was around, you accepted the offer. all it consisted of was jeno constantly wiping icing on your nose, and the dreamies making fun of the two of you.
after the boys had finally left, you cleared up their mess and noticed something written on a serviette.
“hey ___, but i can call you anytime. it’s jeno (who you can now call at anytime), let’s organise a date !!” this note was followed by his phone number and a cute little smiley face.
opening your contacts, you put jeno in as ‘dork’ and texted him saying “so.. when’s the date, mr. duality?”
a/n: oh look!! someone made it to the end.. hi !! i love u nd feel free to leave requests, have an awesome day luvie <33

Boyfriend Series || Han Jisung
Tumblr media
How he asked you out:
Well, it first started at school. This little sucker had no idea what high school had in store for him when he joined your new school, but the second he laid eyes on you he felt his heart stop. Cliché I know, but he’s a sucker for romance and once his chocolate orbs landed on yours, he knew you’d be the Juliet to his Romeo.
Months and months would go by of him refusing to make any sort of eye contact with you, but all of that changed when your teacher though it was a good idea to make a new seating arrangement and placed the two of you together. Both of you easily felt the tension whenever you had to work in your table group, which was just the two of you. Jisung was constantly trying not to embarrass himself (thinking that the best way to do it was to pretend that you weren’t there). He would work on one part of the assignment while you would work on the other and in the end, the two of you would just present your parts up in front of the classroom. It ended up working somehow which the teacher noticed, so she assigned a harder task. The two of you would have to play the main characters in (yup, you guessed it) the tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
In Jisung’s mind, this was the best way to win you over, to impress you with his acting and vocal harmonization skills only to have you fall into his arms. He became engulfed in the script and practiced it whenever he could, sometimes even forgetting to do other homework because of it. [my uwus]
Fast forward to the night of the play. The two of you had rehearsed many times, however there was one scene that you pushed away, the kiss scene. Both of you agreed that the best way to do it was to be at the night of the play. Of course, this also meant a complete and utterly embarrassed Jisung when the scene came up. You opened on of your eyes, the one facing farther from the crowd. He looked at you, his eyes sparkling with fear, anxiety, admiration and worry. You couldn’t keep your eyes off of him as he placed a sweet chaste kiss upon your lips. You didn’t expect his lips to be warm and gentle, but you found them intoxicating.
In order to keep the audience on the balls of their feet, he pulled away, placing another on your forehead. His touch lingering. Sniffles could be heard in the audience from impressed and emotional parents (and students wow).
But like, once the curtains closed, you couldn't get up. Your bestie Hyunjin had to help you get up because omg you needed that kiss.
Okay and fast forward to a week after you guys began to talk more. Jisung and you were dorky and all, as usual, but something bothered you all the time. Jisung began to distant himself from you whenever you’re guy friends were around. So you asked him what was up and all he replied with was, “I like you.”
And you guys just happened.
What it’s like:
Every opportunity he gets, he spends it with you. You guys are study buddies but with certain things you guys don’t get, you ask Felix for help.
He likes cute and simple coffee dates and such, with you two sharing a small table and talking about your day which drifts to mindless conversations about school, friends, and crazy conspiracies theories.
I feel like Jisung would be more into cuddling and watching movies at home rather than being out and about doing crazy dates, but every once in a while he’s oblige.
He’s so cute whenever you’re around him and gets giddy easily. Just your smile alone could make his heart jump a mile even years after you got together.
He’s just a cutie.
Skinship:
Omg this kid never lets go of your hand. Every opportunity he finds, he puts his hand in yours. It’s like when you aren’t holding his, a piece of him is missing and he longs for you whenever. Even at night when the two of you fall asleep in his room playing Felix’s Fortnite game, he ends up always holding your hand. It makes everyone squeal or barf and sometimes both.
He loves to kiss your forehead. Like all the time. In public, at home, in the car, at night, in the kitchen. Literally whenever and wherever. It makes you feel secure and safe.
He’s not too big on PDA but he still will do it whenever he’s in the mood.
With others:
This kid brags about you all the time its sickening to the boys.
“You see her? That’s my girlfriend. Respect her.”
“Omg she’s so cute. You guy’s know we’re dating right?”
“HEY JYP! HAVE YOU ME-”
He stopped after that.
But like he puts his arms around you whenever hes with the guys. It’s not a territorial thing, but more of a ‘She’s perfect, don’t worry I’m not a douche I love her’ kind of thing.
Overall:
I mean, he’s just a total dork so like, you guy’s will have a lot of fun together.

Sweater Weather
Stray Kids AU: 10th member
Tori x Stray Kids
Some fluff during the filming of the I am YOU MV
A/N: Un peu de fluff pour vous autres
Requests are Open: Submit them to my ask box! I need them!
Tumblr media
Tori watched from the side as Hyunjin filmed his solo shot for the ‘I am You’ Music video. She’d finished hers a while ago, but had wanted to support Hyunjin while they did his. His set was really cool, with lamps everywhere and a big Stray Kids light.
“That’s a wrap.” The director said, signalling to Hyunjin that he could leave.
Hyunjin bowed and thanked them, and hurried over to where Tori was waiting. She held out his jacket, as the cold air was starting to bite at them. She was fine. There had been a cup of coffee earlier, and just on principle, she needed to last longer than everyone else in the cold. It was like a rule of being Canadian.
Hyunjin took the coat and put it on. “How was it?”
“Terrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.” She deadpanned.
“Really?” He raised his eyebrows.
Tori shook her head and smiled. “You looked very cool, Oppa. Super handsome.”
“Why thank you.” He took her hand in his and swung it as they walked back towards where the other boys were waiting. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
She looked down at her outfit: a simple pair of jeans, converse and a crop hoodie. “This outfit is okay. But wait until you see my outfit for tomorrow!”
“Is it good? I haven’t looked at any of tomorrow’s wardrobe.”
She nodded enthusiastically. “I get to wear a skirt!”
“I thought you didn’t like wearing skirts.” He reminded her. “Because of how dangerous it is, or something?”
She shrugged. “Yeah, but I also don’t want to dress like a dude all of the time. And besides, I’m wearing shorts underneath.”
The boys were all gathered around the set that had the old couch in it, though strangely they were all sat on the floor.
“Are we having a picnic?” Tori laughed as they approached.
“We don’t want to mess up the set.” Felix explained. “We’ll be in trouble.”
Tori shrugged. “They provided a couch, I’m going to sit on it.”
She plopped herself down on the rather uncomfortable couch, trying to cross her arms in front of her bare stomach to keep away some of the chill.
Hyunjin sat next to her, opening his arms so that she could lean closer. He bundled her up, making sure that his coat covered her stomach. It was way too cold for her to not be wearing a jacket, but he knew Tori, and Tori was very stubborn about what she called ‘not being a weak little Australian’. Felix and Chan had taken offence to that, but she hadn’t given up.
“We shoot early tomorrow, right?” Seungmin asked. “Like, earlier than today?”
Chan nodded. “Yeah. Apparently they want to make sure we’re ready to go once the lighting is good.”
“Someone-” Hyunjin poked Tori’s side. “Already snuck a peek at our outfits.”
“Do the stylists know?” Woojin asked.
“Who cares?” Minho brushed him aside. “How are they?”
Tori laughed. “I didn’t look at yours, but I’m sure they’ll be fine. I, on the other hand, am going to look hot.”
“How hot?” Chan tilted his head. “Because you have a dress code, young lady.”
Tori gave him an evil smile. “No, I don’t, actually.”
“Sure, you do. It’s called ‘Tori has to be fully covered so Chan doesn’t have a heart attack.” Jisung reminded her.
Tori poked at Jeongin with her foot. “Jeongin, what did I teach you?”
He took a bite of his apple. “Men should not be able to police women’s bodies. The patriarchy is bad. Feminism is good. Tori looks good in skirts. Was one of those right, Noona?” He looked at her curiously.
She smiled. “100%, Jeonginnie. I’ve taught you well.”
“You’ve brainwashed him, is what you mean.” Jisung complained. “You’re just winning votes over to your side.”
“My wardrobe is not up to vote, Han Jisung.” Tori stuck her tongue out at him. “besides, I’ll win the vote anyway.”
“Yeah, right.”
“Jeongin, who are you voting with?”
“You, Noona.”
“Hyunjin?”
“You.”
“Seungmin?”
“You.”
“Chan?”
“You.” He smacked himself in the head. “Why did I agree to that.”
“Cuz you’re a good father.” Tori told him with a laugh. “Jisung, I rest my case.”
“Urgh, whatever.” He rolled over. “Who’s solo shot is next?”
“I don’t know.” Woojin said. “They’ll call whenever it’s time.”
A cool breeze drifted through the set, and Tori snuggled closer to Hyunjin, trying to keep out the chill.
“You could just put on a coat.”
“I’ve got a point to prove.” She stated. “And it starts by proving that I’m not bothered by the cold.”
“You do know that you’re shivering, right?” He asked.
She looked at him very seriously, before bopping him on the nose. “That’s our little secret, isn’t it, Oppa?”
He rolled his eyes. “Of course it is. Just share my jacket, why don’t you? It’s not like you don’t have your own right over there.”
She grinned and kissed him on the cheek. “I’m glad we understand each other.”
His cheeks flushed. “Yeah, sounds good. I’ll just pretend that you’re being a rational human being.”
“You’re the best.”
