Hotel Metropole : Karachi
A 1960s shot of Karachi’s famous Hotel Metropole that was famous for its night clubs and bars. The hotel today is being torn down and turned into a shopping and office complex. Half of it has already been turned into a ‘wedding garden.’ Behind it was the Palace Cinema that was extremely popular with college and university students. The cinema was torn down in the 1980s and has since been operating as a ‘marriage hall.’

One of the most iconic styles of hotel architecture in London is the grand Victorian-era building. These buildings were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, during a time when London was experiencing rapid growth and expansion. Many of these hotels were designed to be grand and imposing, with large stone facades, ornate balconies, and intricate details that reflected the opulence and sophistication of the era.

Jules Brunfaut, The Maison Hannon (Hannon House), (Hotel Hannon) in Brussels, Belgium. 1903.
Address: Av. de la Jonction 1, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgia
The Maison Hannon is one of the masterpieces of art nouveau in Brussels, uniting Belgian art nouveau with French art nouveau in a symbolist and dreamlike universe. Built on the corner of Avenue Brugmann and Avenue de la Jonction in Saint-Gilles, it was commissioned by the Hannon couple whose name it bears, Marie and Edouard, from their architect friend Jules Brunfaut in 1902.
