Centaurworld x DP crossover

Horse was looking forward to a nice, quiet day in Centaurworld. Even after the war, surprisingly few days had been quiet; her herd either attracted trouble, or just plain seeked it out on their own when the mood struck them. So yes, when Horse saw everyone settle into their Lazy Day routines, she could honestly say that she was feeling just a little bit smug, one might even say giddy, as she laid down next to Rider to get in a good after-breakfast nap while she could.

A bright flash of light startled everyone out of their laze—

Oh come on!

A swirling green portal appeared in the air next to their little camp. It looked so much like the rift between the Human world and Centaurworld, except this one was much smaller and wasn’t attached to any structure, with no key to hold it either! It looked like it was just big enough for Rider to step through, maybe Horse if she squeezed, so that eased her worries some bit—no armies would be coming through any time soon—but they all stood up and got in ready positions just in case.

Just a moment later, a human boy stepped through—or what Horse assumed was a human boy? He looked so different compared to the other human boys she had seen during her life in the Human world. First: his hair was white, whiter than anything she’s ever seen on a human. Second: his eyes, hands, and feet were huge compared to the rest of his skinny frame. He looked so out of place that Horse wondered if he wasn’t from either of the two worlds. Are there even other worlds?

As they stared at him, the boy stared right back, eyes wide, up until he opened his mouth.

“Holy shit—”

Whatever the boy said after that was lost as Glendale started yelling and running around in a panic, arms flailing.

“WOOOOOOAAAA!! HE SAID A BAD WORD, WAMMAWINK! THE HUMAN BOY THING JUST SAID A BAD WORD!!”

Durpleton joined in on the yelling and running, also he was crying. Great. And, of course not one to be left out of a trend, Zulius started crying as well, quickly followed by—when did Gebbrey get here??

Wammawink immediately jumped in to calm them all down with soft lullabies and reassurances.

Meanwhile the boy just looked bewildered. He caught Rider’s eye with a pleading expression. She huffed amusedly, and walked over to stand next to him.

“Um… are they okay? I’m really sorry about that, it just kind of slipped out. You know, when he said ‘Go to Centaurworld’ I wasn’t expecting like half-animal-half-man-things, and I’m rambling…” the boy trailed off. Rider chuckled.

“Yeah, they’re fine,” she assured him. “They’re actually always like this, but you get used to it.”

“Great, ‘cuz I actually came here for something specific,” he stuck a hand behind his back and pulled it back with an empty glass jar from somewhere. “Right, I’m Danny by the way.”

“Oh, I’m—”

“OH YEAH? YOU THINK THAT’S A BAD WORD?” Ched shouted from where the rest of the herd was gathered. Ugh, Ched. “PFFT, PFFT, PFFT! AMATURE! THAT’S AN AMATURE BAD WORD!”

“Ched,” Wammawink warned.

“I’LL SHOW YOU A REAL BAD WORD!”

“Ched, no!”

“FUCK!”

Silence reigned throughout the camp, before, of course, more shouting and crying from the others in the herd. Wammawink’s face turned small as she narrowed her eyes and scowled at the boy standing in front of the portal.

“You.”

“Uhh…” The boy tried to back up as Wammawink hopped angrily towards him.

“This is all your fault!” She stopped directly in front of him, and put on—wow, that’s the most passive aggressively fake smile Horse had ever seen Wammawink wear. “What is it that you want so you can leave? Like right now?”

“I, uhh… need to fill this with something called Sparkle Blinkies?” the boy lifted the empty jar. “Do you know where I can get some?”

Wammawink grabbed the jar out of the boy’s hand and tilted her head over it with another scowl and a huff. The boy’s face went through an impressive range of emotions as he watched her fill the jar with her sparkle blinkies. When done, she shoved the jar back at the boy and barely waited for him to have a hold on it before letting it go and forcibly turning him around and shoving him back towards the portal that he came from, all while smiling and rambling cheerfully.

“Well here you go now, all the sparkle blinkies you could want and oh look at that, your reason to be here is gone, such a shame, would love to do this again, but we’re going to be, hm, not here, if you ever come back and your portal is right there, don’t forget to close it on your way out, buh-bye!”

She gave one last push and the boy fell back into his own world…

Probably, Horse thought.

With a shove from the pink alpaca-centaur-woman, Danny fell back into the Ghost Zone; the portal closing quickly behind him.

He could honestly say that that wasn’t the weirdest world he’d ever been to, but also, he’d be fine not going back there ever again, if it was all up to him. But alas, it was not, so he trudged his way back to Clockwork’s lair. When he got there, he slammed the doors open and flew to the sitting room, where he knew the old geezer would be.

“Hey Clockwork, I’m back with your eye sparkles!” he called, shaking the now-filled jar a bit. The blinky-star things glittered and made little magic tinkling noises. “What did you need them for anyway?”

“Thank you, Daniel,” Clockwork floated over to him and accepted the jar with an outstretched hand, then motioned for Danny to follow him back to where the sofa-chairs and a small table were set up. The old ghost snapped his fingers and two giant dishes of ice cream poofed into existence, piled high with bananas, cherries, chocolate and caramel sauces, and topped with whipped cream. The only thing that seemed to be missing from this picture-perfect dessert was—what was Clockwork doing?

Said ghost had floated over to the dishes while Danny was distracted. He plucked a star sparkle from its jar and crushed it in his hand before sprinkling it over the ice cream, and again for the second one. The old stopwatch then turned around with a small smile and a twinkle in his eye.

“You are just in time for my Ice Cream Sunday.”

“… I can feel the way you said ‘Sunday’ instead of ‘Sundae,’” Danny rolled his eyes. “Why are you like this?”

“I have no idea what you mean,” Clockwork tilted his head. “I can put it away if you don’t—”

“Nope! No it’s fine! I am all for Ice Cream Sundays! Thanks gramps!”

Clockwork just smiled as he watched Danny dig into his treat, and started spooning into his as well.

All is as it should be.
