Hazbin Hotel would be so much more interesting if charlie’s naïveté and surface-level kindness were treated as the actual flaws they are and didn’t work. Heads up, this kinda just turned into a text wall of charlie neg and ranting so don’t read if you don’t want to see that.

How she currently is, she just doesn’t make that much sense in the setting. I’ve seen ppl say that charlie is a fresh take and contrasts the edginess, but I just don’t see how she is possible. You’re telling me she’s been in hell for 200 yrs but still has this childish and naive personality, is still disgusted by the sinners being cannibalistic, violent, and even just horny, and is so detached from those she calls “her people”? She was born in hell, shouldn’t that make her more used to the sinners’ depravity and not less? She doesn’t seem to have a good grasp on what the sinners want or how they behave. It would make more sense if the show leaned into the toxic positivity white savior nepo baby angle (or rather, actually portrayed it as a *bad* thing) and rather than naïveté, her ignorance was out of self-centeredness and/or lack of true empathy for the other sinners. She would be more interesting as a character too imo.

She looks down on the other sinners (and honestly so does the show?? When she’s showing lucifer around and introduces him to her friends, they’re framed as unappealing as a joke… these are the characters the audience is also supposed to care about.. and many of the bg chars, such as the cannibal town residents, are portrayed as simple-minded brutes), there’s a lot of condescending “….ooookay” type of lines and she constantly has to think of nice ways to frame the clearly negative things she thinks about others. So why does she want to save them so much? The more reasonable explanation is a sense of white savior-ness than actually caring about them.

She’s eager to excuse whatever sir pentious did (which I’m assuming she doesn’t know?) and let him in, despite how he makes the other residents (including her own gf!) uncomfortable. And yes I say excuse, because she never inquires about his past sins or discussed him repenting. It seems to start with sorry, but also end with sorry too. This could’ve been made interesting if she simultaneously looked down on but also excused all sorts of heinous acts. Like val is the most openly manipulative and scummy character, he licks her arm, and yet she’s still apologetic about ruining things (Side note, if she’s genuinely apologetic, then she’s actually an idiot because why is she talking to the boom-mic employee *while they’re filming???*).

She doesn’t know what she’s doing and has no concrete plan but gets incredulous at ppl who don’t blindly trust her. Angel has to leave in ep 4 and she gets SO frustrated over it, like you seriously expect everyone to drop all of their other commitments for you? She has her webster definition notecards for the meeting with heaven and has to improvise and rely on angel being good at the club but she gets mad that lucifer isn’t 100% behind her plan?

Also, trust falls? Really? Then she goes “why isn’t this working? We’ve tried everything!” But on that note, the actual episode portrayal is kinda exactly what I’m going for. Not only do the trust falls not work, charlie says, “I love all of you so much,” pulls her puppy eyes, and only vaggie catches her. It’s surface level and shallow, and does not win anyone else over.

In contrast, vaggie’s attempt at building trust, throwing everyone into a battle, *actually works* (despite vaggie only being in hell for 3 years and being heaven-born, she already knows how things work better than charlie!) and yet charlie talks about it as though it already failed. She says “we work best as a team,” with the underlying message being “I can’t trust you to do things on your own.”

If she was waiting so long to reconnect with lucifer, then why hasn’t she called him in years?? Altho I’m currently rotating lucifer in my brain so I might be a bit biased

She has a power dynamic with every other character except lucifer since she has her demon powers, not to mention she’s giving them a place to stay. When vaggie says she appreciates that charlie doesn’t use her powers, charlie doesn’t say “it wouldn’t be right,” she says it would be too *mean.* But if someone pushes her buttons, who’s to say they wouldn’t slip out (see her flip on a dime after val hits angel. Obv it’s justified in this case, but it shows that she’s willing to use her powers on sinners)? Again, it would be interesting if the show actually leaned into this angle. Imagine if she put on a nice front, never swore, seemed genuinely touching and understanding, but the second someone annoys her she annihilates them and becomes threatening and violent. Then she turns around and is nice again. Too much like alastor? idk

Also, many characters refer to her by calling her lucifer’s daughter, so clearly ppl know that if they cross her they’ll face his wrath by proxy (this also fits in thematically with what lute tells her in the first episode, that she’s exempt from the exterminations bc nepotism privilege). So realistically, everyone else would be a bunch of sucking-up yes-men bc they’re afraid of her. Which they kind of are when push comes to shove?

At first, she doesn’t help at all during the war and lets everyone else fight for her. Doesn’t want to get her hands dirty ig, even though all of this was caused by her in the first place. She only starts fighting at vaggie’s urging.

Like husk points out, every meeting charlie has with the angels makes things worse for all the sinners. Despite lucifer’s warnings that the meeting with heaven won’t work, and against vaggie saying to calm down, charlie basically picks a fight with heaven at the risk of *everyone else EXCEPT HER.*

What were charlie and lilith doing to stop the exterminations before lilith took her 7 year leave? Hell, what was charlie doing during those 7 years? Why does she have 0 connections outside of vaggie, who she only met 3 yrs ago? Why does she have to introduce herself to rosie, rather than her already knowing her name?

Also in ep 7 she says to alastor “I can’t believe how you can do exactly what you told me you would do!” (standing by and watching everyone fail at redemption) almost like she wasn’t paying attention to him at all.

“Why would vaggie hide that she was an exterminator” -> Rosie asks “how did that make you feel?” “It made me mad and doubt if she loves me” like I get it, it was a betrayal, but IS she stupid

Ready For This is charlie manipulating a town of ppl to join the army. Her pitch includes “on the way to the hotel the scenery is nice and you can make friends :3” and “have you ever wanted to die for a cause? Notably I myself am spared from being killed but uh that’s your problem.” Alastor pipes in that you can eat the angels and that’s what actually moves the crowd, because he understands them.

Her perspective on violence and where she chooses to draw the line is really confusing. Why does she care about sinners being violent to each other if they’ll just respawn? She stops alastor from beating up sir pentious at an arbitrary point, but is fine with him eating and presumably killing the gangsters who come after mimzy. (Edit: forgot to point out yet another example, that she was fine with vaggie tossing sir pentious and angel off the balcony but stops her from tossing niffty as well for no reason.) Why is she so apologetic to the angels actively killing sinners but was distraught over vaggie having partaken? Why was she opposed to the CANNIBALS being eager to eat the angels and saying “idk, they seem kinda murder-y” WHAT. What? I’m struggling to even begin to describe how ignorant that is during a WAR. What did she think was going to happen, that she wouldn’t have to fight anyone herself? Why did she stop her dad from killing Adam but doesn’t react strongly to Niffty finishing the job? If it mattered so much to her, the lack of reaction seems strange to me.

Isn’t it just so poetic that her weapon in the war is a shield that she uses exclusively on herself, which she hardly even needs due to her contractual immunity?

Why doesn’t she think to use her powers to build and maintain the hotel? That doesn’t require any violence or domineering. Yet when lucifer comes over it’s run-down and falling apart. Or ask lucifer to help her build it? She was concerned that asking for the meeting with heaven was such a big ask—why not start with this small thing? Father-daughter bonding.

Why does the show end w lucifer + the sinners congratulating her, and in particular, rebuilding the hotel? Hell doesn’t know that sir pentious got redeemed, so from their pov charlie’s idea didn’t work at all.

Can you tell that I’m writing this while I’m rewatching the show?

Aaand that’s that. Her char has always come off to me as somewhat condescending/fake, but I keep finding more and more things to dislike about the way she’s been written. Unfortunate. Honestly tho I might enjoy watching her more if I read her through this lens. You could probably write a similar post for most/all other chars in the show, limited only by the amount of screentime they get lmao

juno…i have been having thots. ik a while ago some anons were discussing which members might be virgins, and that got me to thinking about how often they might have sexy times. i made a ranking of most to least sexscapades and i would love to know your 🧅s:

Lee Know: Lee Know is the sort of person who strikes me as very sexually active but in a subtle way? If that makes sense? He’s casual about it so it kinda falls under the radar, but he’s super hot, had the opportunity to experiment before debut, and seems to have very strong connections and frequent trips/meetups with friends (like the Japan boyfriend) that might be more than platonic. Strikes me as one who would prefer to hook up with ppl like backup dancers, "commoners" etc. rather than other idols. Also wouldn’t be surprised if he helps out more inexperienced members.

Changbin: You cannot convince me this man does not FUCK, and regularly at that. He seems to have quite a few female idol friends (not to assume sexuality! But still, the opportunities are definitely there), plus he has a great physique, such charisma, and seems like a genuinely nice guy—like the sort of guy you would feel super comfy hooking up w if that makes sense?

Chan: I get the feeling that Chan has a very healthy relationship with his own hand, mostly because his workaholic tendencies could interfere with long-term or serious relationships. At the same time, he’s hot as fuck, and I could totally see him having frequent one-night stands. He knows so many people in the industry and definitely seems super friendly and flirty with some female idols 👀

Hyunjin: this one was hard for me. On one hand this boy is a literal god and he knows he’s hot, but he’s also very romantic maybe to a bit of a fault. So he either fucks a ton (good for him!) or is waiting for “the one”. I lean more towards the “fucks regularly” category but wasn’t that sure, so I kinda put him in the middle.

Felix: I think has some prior experience—during trainee days, I think he very much explored his sexuality, and although I think he does hook up somewhat now post-debut, I get the feeling he is very choosy and careful, and in general less sexually active than a lot of the other members.

Jeongin: Mr. I-Wanted-To-Be-A-Priest…honestly, I debated putting him lower, but he has this vaguely…naughty vibe? Like he’s sexually confident and he knows it. I definitely know people who don’t have a lot of sex who can pull that off, but I lowkey feel like he has sexy times even if it’s irregular.

Seungmin: Like Felix, very choosy. Seungmin is one of those people who I suddenly realize at random times we don’t know all that much about him. He’s super private, which I really love and respect, but I think that also extends to his sex life—he’s meticulous and careful and prefers quality relationships where he can become really sexually intimate and familiar with his partner rather than hookups or one-night-stands, which naturally limits the amount of sex he has.

Han. I think he’s a lowkey goon (lovably!) when it comes to porn/hentai and jerking off, but I could genuinely see him as still being a virgin, or maybe having sought the help of certain other members in sexual departments but not much else. I think he’s satisfied with his sexual drive and not in too much of a hurry to have more/any sex, although I think based on age and all of the opportunities SKZ likely have he will lose his virginity sooner rather than later.

I have a question, but it’s going to sound a little silly: why do you think people are so drawn to Marvus? I’ve been in the Hiveswap side of the fandom for nearly 3 years, and I honestly don’t understand the attraction. Most of the responses I get to this question are some variant of “he’s hot”, but I thought I’d ask you since you’re one of the few creators I’ve seen who actually treats Marvus like a three dimensional character-

I mean, I think you basically got it. A very surface level reading of his route- using no critical thinking here- is that "hot guy is so woke, DEFINITELY wants change, clearly cares about you specifially out of hundreds of thousands, and saves you from dying." His route also came out when the whole "himbo" thing was popular, and he became the fandom himbo, even though he isn't particularly nice or stupid lmao (the former is likely because he saves you from dying and like, hand feeds you; the latter likely simple fandom implicit racism i.e. the use of aave=less intelligence). And I think it's important to know that a majority of people in fandom spaces are going to take that surface level reading. (Frankly, I heacanon he's not even conventionally attractive, but kinda odd looking and striking in that compelling, "you shouldn't be attractive, but..." kinda way. That's bc I write fs marvus and not hsw marvus, tho, but that's a topic for another time).

What I've always found interesting is that people ignore the toilet humor of his route like, across the board unless they really hate him haha. Power of being able to like, idk, go "bark bark woof woof" on the internet or whatever.

This is why fandom faves tend to be fandom faves: if they are conventionally good looking, there's plenty of varients of blorbo on the "evil vs sweet" and "pathetic vs cool" chart. People tend to like characters who are either a. like them (Tyzias, Chixie) b. like someone they think they'd be attracted to IRL (Mallek, Marvus, Chahut) or c. completely "pathetic" and woobifyable (Lynera, Ardata). Sometimes it's a combo of all of them.

No hate or judgement here btw; i really believe the fandom experience should be fun for ppl. I personally dislike surface level readings of charas, tho, bc I'm a reader. I like meta and analysis and the like haha.

I think the whole ‘I don’t watch the news’ thing was an answer given because he obviously hadn’t been expecting to be asked about it and give an answer on it. It was a stupid answer and he absolutely should’ve given a better one but. Yes it very disappointing but be realistic if many people (including some of the drivers) were asked, you wouldn’t know how to respond.

People also have to be aware that you can’t keep up to date with everything happening all over the world, it tough but it’s true. I used to watch the news most days at some point last year and now I don’t because I have a job.

I do think as people with platforms should use their platforms but even at that I don’t think it’s as easy as that. Seb and Lewis were/are able to do what they do because they are multiple wdc and had/have job security in their teams. Other drivers do not have this and that needs to be acknowledged.

In saying that, we all saw Daniel in 2020, we’ve heard the way Lewis talked about Daniel talking to him, asking what he could do etc so I do think it’s in him. Has to be noted that he has been the gutter for the past few years and is getting himself out now. I don’t want it to seem like I’m defending and absolving him just want to point out not everything is clear cut and black and white

context. also this was about these tags im pretty sure

i totally agree with the question being very unexpected and challenging ("how important is it that drivers use their platforms to discuss human right issues in this country?"), but i think that's exactly why he wasn't able to come up with a PR answer and ended up giving a truthful one ["i think if (you're gonna use your platform), it's important to know what you're talking about, but i don't really watch the news"]. you can just tell he was telling the truth and was embarrassed by it. and like if he had anything else to say there's no way he would have resorted to 'i don't really watch the news'.

honestly, i understand what he meant by 'not watching news makes me feel better about my day'. learning about conflicts adds stress, sure. he's free to choose to not want that in his life. and like, for someone who cares the way he cares, i do see the point of limiting the information he takes in. my issue is not really with that.

also i appreciate your reasoning (daniel didn't have the capacity to advocate bc of lack of job security) bc it's nice to see how much we all love him and want to think the best of him (i mean it). But let's be honest, if he has the time to run his merch brand, he has the time to advocate for causes he believes in. that being said, i don't think someone is obligated to advocate for anything just because they have the platform. it would ofc be nice if they do, but they are (everybody is) free to live their lives however they want to. imo they don't owe the society anything just bc they're famous. so like, my issue is not with that either.

what i hate (hate is a strong word.. let's just say strongly dislike and is annoyed by) was that he acknowledged that by choosing not to watch the news, he might be a little ignorant, and he was fine with that, bc at the end of the day he brought at least some joy and positivity to the place and no harm done.

essentially, what he was saying was that, he chose not to watch the news so there was no causes he felt strongly enough to discuss using his platform. like. that was... pretty ignorant, daniel 😂 to me that's messed up and i hate that he's ok with being 'maybe ignorant' just like that. i believe ppl are free to choose to remain ignorant (ignorance is a bliss and all that) but personally i don't think that's good, at all. that's really what my issue is with this whole thing.

however, i don't think of it as a matter of principle bc even though daniel seems to be practicing this ignorance is a bliss thing (arguably to it's fullness), he's not oblivious (ie willfully ignorant, where one'd actively ignore what they're aware of). and that's a big difference. for example, he straightforwardly said 'racist people are no friends of mine' to nelson piquet making racist comments about lewis last year. and among all the PR statements lots of drivers and teams put out, daniel's stood out bc it was clear-cut and personal. imo it's obvious daniel isn't how he, by saying what he said about news, came off to be. and as long as it's not a matter of principle i'm not really concerned.

like YES PTJ i love some of the new characters introduced like johan and samuel but with all these new characters added into the story, it’s like the old cast got thrown away (minus zack and vasco etc because they’re always in the mix for some reason, AND NOT JAY ahem i shall rein myself back for some semblance of sanity lol) and i’m like.. why so many characters man? UGH.

ALSO ALSO ALSO what’s with all these middle aged looking characters suddenly entering the scene with a [name] and [age] AND THEY DON’T EVEN LOOK THEIR AGE LIKE

like this story just became all about gangs at the point where i stopped lol like what happened to his convenience store job (i guess he quit once he entered workers? maybe i missed that part), what happened to the mom visiting every so often (like wouldn’t she worry about her son when he disappeared god knows where?), what happened to attending school during the back end portion? WHERE ARE THE PARENTS/ADULTS? this is like tokyo revengers all over again 😂 idk.. i just wish that it didn’t have to be all about gangs? like i’m fine with the hostel and god dogs portion but after that it’s like i couldn’t give a shit anymore 🥲 and daniel doesn’t even seem like himself anymore 😭 i miss when all he had to care about was making friends, memories and letting his mom live a good life…

i wish ptj just kept it simple with a few gangs, having to keep the secret about having 2 bodies, why crystal has 2 bodies as well, normal school activities/relationships (i keep fantasising about a chapter with them playing some king’s card game where the person who draws the king card can do anything/order anyone to do anything they wanted for a turn like that Baka to Test episode, man that was hilarious LOL like if joy got picked as the king and she would probably have done something to daniel and jay had to step in HAHAHA oop my shipper is showing) and it would have still been a great series. now it feels all muddled 😩

the age thing: YOU'RE SO RIGHT like no way samuel is 19?? no way that bitch is only one year older than me AT MOST. or maybe he's got the daddy energy coz he's tall, is The fanservice character at this point, and has muscles n big booba. still wanna punch him tho. the ogs being 16/17 international age i can believe, and the anime also made them look younger in a way? especially duke i miss that funky lil guy. i hope his music career is going well

all about gangs: i see what you mean but this is also Animanga Logic right. adults are kinda irrelevant if you're the overpowered protagonist but at the same time i get u honestly i feel like jay's own father has more plot relevance than him at this point 💀 jay vs h group arc WHERE. jay and crystal interaction WHERE. their parallel could be so interesting but i'm not getting into that today i'll like. explore it in a fic or something

plot: i think to us it feels like ptj kinda lost sight of the meaning of 'lookism' in relation to the plot, but i'm sure ptj knows where he's going with the plot, and i trust him to give us more good chapters. for now us jay hong stans are gonna have to make content to feed each other

I DIDN’T PLAY BUT I WAS WATCHING DAMO’S LIVESTREAM THE MOMENT THE UPDATE DROPPED </3 honestly the reason I’ve gone inactive is because I’ve done nothing but work on wayfinder charm designs for the scala squad and the upperclassmen, you don’t uNDERSTAND IM OBSESSED

but but but, here’s some thoughts under the cut ! as usual, warning for spoilers ahead and lots and lots of text bc I’m a blabbermouth

ok so, I’ll start in order so it’s easier for me to keep track of

the disney worlds being more relevant AND helpful to the story

I’ve seen so many people say this and they’re so fuckin right, cause disney worlds used to be just fun places where SOMETIMES things related to the plot might happen. at best, a certain disney sidekick and their movie helped develop the main gang/plot but no one really thinks “hey KH2 atlantica really helped Sora grow as a person and was super important to the overaching plot huh”. like, sure, not EVERYTHING has to be plot heavy or super relevant, especially in a game aimed for kids but christ I literally erased all of KH2′s lion king from my brain bc the only thing worth remembering there is “look sora is a cute lion!”

it just feels nice because in other games, all these bad guys WERE meant to be THE hottest shit in the world, the scariest mfs you would ever face, but they essentially had nothing other than a fun boss battle and boom bye. nomura kinda spent a few games kicking maleficent’s dead body trying to make her relevant again.

so seeing the Scala squad actually make use of the magic mirror’s abilities MORE THAN ONCE was actually fucking revolutionary for me like, yeah of COURSE you would go back to THE magic mirror that so far has been doing nothing but answer any question you’ve given him. of course it’s cool when MALEFICENT KILLS BALDR’S SISTER because she hasn’t been directly relevant in anything since. what. KH1 or KH2. I liked that Hades, as the GOD OF THE DEAD, actually has the power to BRING PEOPLE BACK IF HE WANTED, if only for a bit LIKE. WOW!!! THEY *ARE* IMPORTANT AND POWERFUL PEOPLE

characters being more than just good vs bad guys. the morality and mentality of light vs darkness being more nuanced.

the main issue a lot of ppl had with Xehanort and Eraqus is that they were rlly painted as strictly bad vs good, but only Eraqus was allowed ??? some semblance of respect in the games ??? even if he fucked up A LOT. because he was, in the end “a good guy”. and Xehanort was just this villain bordering on cartoony with the funny wiggly fingers no one fucking understood but that you were meant to forgive in KH3 despite everything he did, which felt very undeserved

BUT HERE IN DARK ROAD you get to see more of everyone and their clashing ideologies and morals, which is even sadder in retrospect when you see that they’re extremely close and genuinely cared about each other and their world. Xehanort wants change, Eraqus wants to remain the same, Vor is conflicted because she’s right in the middle, the upperclassmen are willing to do horrible things for the greater good, baldr is. well. going thru it 24/7, etc.

ABOUT HOW DARKNESS AND LIGHT ARE EXTREMELY OBJECTIVE CONCEPTS AND UNIQUE TO EACH PERSON - the constant discussions between Eraqus and Xehanort about where darkness comes from exactly, if it’s inherent to a person’s heart or if it’s an outside force corrupting them and so on are genuinely very interesting to me. because there ARE people who are genuinely corrupted and shitty, but there’s also people who go through horrible shit and are consumed by their trauma and negative feelings. you’re not just “a bad person” just because you suddenly have darkness inside you. you’re not just a “good person” just because you side with light either. everyone is fucked bc they all have to make do with the things they know and what they think is right while darkness is out to get their asses

its not that simple, but with a single push anyone can go joker mode basically, it’s just fucking stupid to think anyone can be pure absolute light. DDD even touches this when it comes to Sora being perfect too, but he’s just as liable to falling into darkness if pushed enough, HELL, ANTI SORA IS A REMINDER OF THAT

sure, KH3 did drop some vague shit about Elsa being at the verge of falling to darkness BECAUSE she believed her powers were harmful and thus they became part of the darkness. sure, KH3 also had Aqua falling to darkness after all this time, but you don’t see why or how, she’s just THERE for shock effect and eh. ehhh.

alternatively, the lack of upperclassment content makes me sad........... I wanted to see them banter and see a bit more of their personalities individually

I think about the moment at the tower during the final confrontation against Baldr, when Hoder shows up to talk to him and because they’re so close, they know exactly what’s happening and block each other’s attacks. And when they reach out and they have the same expression. AND WHEN ODIN ASKS XEHANORT TO RID BALDR OF DARKNESS, HODER DOES IT BC SHE KNOWS XEHANORT IS HESITATING BUT SHE DOESNT BC THATS HER BROTHER. SHE KNOWS ITS BETTER LIKE THIS

also also, all the little details, tie-ins and foreshadowing too

I like how they explain that death is not commonly called, well. “Death”. because these people don’t die normally, they replace the word “die” with “disappear” because that’s literally what happens to people who die. BUT that also makes me really curious about the graves? What’s exactly the point of tombstones and shit if there’s nobody buried there, like it’s probably just so you can see HOW many people died and feel the weight of Scala ad Caelum’s story but idk, I would’ve liked some unique way of commemorating the death that fits the way they die.

DDD mentions that all the worlds operate on their unique timeframes and that they’re essentially looping over and over, but the restart happens at random. here in dark road we get to see the worlds BEFORE the restart, hence why Agrabah is empty, and the explanation for the constant swarms of heartless which I thought was a nice touch lol

this mention of the Final World which makes me think about THIS post right here saying that one of the stars in KH3 could be Hoder herself

then we see the conversation between current old man Xehanort and Vanitas about how Vanitas is most likely the remaining Darkness hiding which is A Lot To Think About given the fact that Vanitas has Sora’s face and Sora is hinted to be the next proper Child of Destiny (EVEN THOUGH I STILL THINK IT’S RIKU BUT ANYWAY) like yeah yeah, Vanitas looks like that because Sora and Ventus’ hearts connected very early on but how ironic is that ????

THEN that convo between Xehanort and Eraqus about how many lives they’d want and Xehanort has the balls to say 14 and then days later Nomura drops a fucking drawing of Xehanort in (possibly) Quadratum? yeah. yeah I’m eating that up

oh right, also Eraqus’ entire quirky trait about running away and shit? I thought that would come up eventually as in, he actually ran away and people died because of that choice but I guess not lmfao, that was kinda eh considering how many times it’s brought up in the beginning

ALSO the fact that their keyblades is a more fancy version of the starlight from KHux really got to me like, yeah. YEAH..... This really is Ephemer’s legacy.....

AND the fact that during Vor and Baldr’s scene at the tower, in every flashback you see EVERYONE fading away in light minus Bragi. Plus some of Bragi’s dialogue like his reason to become a keyblade master, it really is good foreshadowing

also Odin saying this :

Baldr as a vessel for Darkness and his entire mass murder scene was pretty cool ngl

Again, I really like the scene where you get to see in a fucking row all the days he spent in his room grieving and mourning and spiraling, like. You know that one post that says “producers : you guys cant show anything showing death or blood. writers : ok *makes up a fater worse than death*” yeah............... the absolute irony of being possessed by the entity that orchestrated your own sister’s death AND your own demise is very very good

It’s a bit on the nose that he was meant to get absolutely fucked in the story since he’s been missing from pretty much everything and he has. well. White hair and a sister. That can only mean ONE thing and it’s tragedy.

THIS detail went too fast for me to notice but while rewatching the video I caught it and ??? BRO ??? I THOUGHT VALA TRIPPED BUT SHE SHOVES VOR OUT OF THE WAY TO SAVE HER

also really lets be honest, the counting is so extra and so good. the little quips and jabs like “OH DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO YOU?” and shit were also really funny to me like yeah, absolutely, please show me the flashbacks and explain what happened bc this is Kingdom Hearts and you fucking bet I need the extra info

I like how Eraqus insists that they can STILL save him while Xehanort was ready to fucking kill this guy and that moment of hesitation was all the darkness needed to give ANOTHER fucking speech about shit - a speech that works perfectly because he’s casting so much doubt in Xehanort’s heart by making it all about “it’s us and then there’s THEM” and kind of being like “yeah, the second your emotional support boytoy Eraqus dies, it’s fucking over for your sanity bro, I’ve been there”

and the entire explanation as to how constantly insisting that darkness is inherently bad has led to people like Baldr go absolutely unhinged because they start to believe THEY are bad, despite having done NOTHING to prove that, which relates to Terra’s entire journey and Ansem the Wise’s resentment towards Nobodies and consequent treatment of ppl like Namine, Xion or Roxas who CLEARLY felt things, were developing unique personalities but because they weren’t inherent light, then they weren’t worth the chance

so basically every goddamn old man who has become a teacher in this entire saga of games is a shithead lmfao. Eraqus doesn’t get to see this conversation between Hoder and Baldr, so of course he clings to that belief of Darkness = evil evil evil, especially with the shit Xehanort is going to start pulling right after this but like

man. look at them.

I really really really liked the idea of Nomura trolling the fanbase who is very vocal and tired of Xehanort being everywhere by making the player ACTUALLY xehanort. it also made sense, Xehanort’s obsession with finding the people in his dreams, because those people were ACTUALLY his friends in his previous life, him being a superempath who leeches people’s memories and feelings is kinda eh in this specific context because I don’t feel it justifies all the shit he does to find Ephemer, Ventus, etc

but baby nort is very cute and I like that we get to be his grandparent and mentor for awhile, probably being the reason he’s also very interested in the outside worlds due to him being stranded here AND all the stories we most likely told him about everything. and I also like that he was pretty much set up to fail the second we died, doomed characters are very fun

I guess this confirms that Skuld’s descendant is Xehanort’s mother since he does mention his mom looks like “the girl from his dreams” aka Skuld herself. So that would mean Ephemer and Skuld’s bloodlines becoming one too, which is interesting, I cant wait for missing link..........

I have a question that has to do with Sara and her Aspergers. Idk how much you know about it, or autism in general but I’ve watched videos of people watching the series for the first time. (Idk since we have to wait for season 2, and I can’t watch it for the first time anymore I watch other ppl) but as I’ve watched people watch it, even after it’s stated that she has Aspergers 2-3 times, some people have been confused on her actions and what she says. For example the parents day lunch where she blurts out that Felice doesn’t want to ride. I’ve seen people say she’s rude or they’re confused why she said it etc etc. But I guess some people don’t remember or pay attention to the fact she’s on the spectrum? Do you think they portrayed her Aspergers well, or could they have done better? I honestly think they did a good job and some of the watchers just didn’t know/remember about it. And honestly this is like off topic a bit, but I’m so intrigued by her and August and what’s gonna happen with them. I hope she kinda puts him in his place but he actually falls for her. That would be nice to see.

I wanna preface the whole thing by saying that I am neuro-typical. I am not / closely know anyone that is autistic. So for most of the questions here, I am probably not the best person to answer.

I think for the reaction videos, it's really easy to miss things the first time around, especially if you also have to read the subtitles, worry about filming a video, and have to make engaging commentary. Also, a lot of people are not as familiar with the word 'Aspergers' compared to the word 'Autism.' It's understandable that most people won't pause the show to google a new word.

More than how we as an audience understand Sara's autism, I am more interested in how the other characters understand it. Simon obviously understands it because they grew up together. But, we also see Felice understands Sara easily. Even though she was hurt, she reaches out to Sara and ensures her that they are still friends. She does not hold the parent's day lunch over her because she understands her.

That being said, for me personally, Sara is the hardest of the five main characters to get a read on. Especially in relation to August. I try and fail to understand what her feelings are towards August. I wonder if this is because she herself doesn't understand those feelings clearly. I would love nothing more than to see August fall in love with her only for her to not care about him.

I am not going to comment on whether or not Sara's character is a good representation of autism. As a neuro-typical, I do not think it is my place. I will just say I really like her character, she intrigues me more than anyone else.

PAIN PAIN PAIN IS ALL IM FEELING RN😭 I was genuinely tearing up towards the end of this new part! It started out so cute with them being all lovey dovey and them FINALLY being able to show that to each other a bit more now! Definitely was excited when he mentioned that he wants her to go with him back to England(I am still hoping😭)

Once she arrived at the bar I loved how you wrote “Niall swore he saw fireworks exploding in Harry’s pupils, turning into the shape of a heart as he watched her” bc it just reminded me of how hopelessly in love he is with her and he sucks at hiding it but I find that as a good sign because they are soulmates! I just thought it was a cute and sweet way of describing it from another’s pov! And that cute little moment of Harry admitting he has always been jealous of her with other guys made me giggle! ALSO THE PINKIES TOUCHING 😭

Now the moment she went into that bathroom… I knew things were off but the fact that she was going to get her by the ppl who are suppose to take care of her omg teh ANGER I FELT ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CALLED HER ROSE!!! My aunt was honestly good to me in many ways. But when I got away from my family it’s not like I could keep contact w her. She always defended my parents, repeating my mom’s line about how hard her life was. The funny thing is, my mom disdains her like nothing else. She’s my dad’s sister and she had a drug problem for a while/is kinda weird. Mom shit talked her all the time growing up but acted nice to her face. I never told my aunt about it, lol, but it woulda been funny if I did.

It’s also like… yes I appreciate that she did stuff for me. She was the family member most there for me during difficult times in my life. Even tho my mom was the one who suggested I work with her, she got jealous of how close we were… But she’s still a member of my family. She’s not a Christo-fascist, she’s more of a libertarian doomsday prepper. The real problem with her is that she not only supports child abuse, she finds it funny.

This is a thing in a lot of different communities but it was always p malignant in my family. Jokes about ass beatings and kids knowing their place. In general an environment of extreme subjugation, repression, overwork, and punishment for kids. It was basically a crime to think for yourself or develop a personality separate from the family system.

My aunt used to joke about how her father beat her when he found out she had a boyfriend at age 13. “He picked me up by my ankles and just went to town!” Hilarious. “But your father got beaten a lot more than me.” Well great, he carried on that legacy in our family too, hitting my brothers but not me or my sister. He was also really weird about me potentially dating. Normal stuff.

One of the worst memories I have is when I was traveling with her to work at a summer camp. We stopped with friends of hers. As far as I understand, they were friends of my cousin first, and then my aunt became their friend because they all did drugs together. It was a young couple. They had me help out at their “day care.” There’s no way it was licensed, probably a place where poor ppl dumped their kids. Run down, not air conditioned room. I was the only person who interacted with the kids, who were all under the age of 5. They turned on some adult action movie and left it at that.

The husband was kinda quiet, a stoner. The wife was friendly but edgy. They had a lot of kids, some from a previous relationship of his. The oldest boy was 7 or 8. He was also quiet, and sweet. The night we stayed there, his stepmom got mad at him for no reason and beat the shit out of him, savagely. There’s no way it didn’t leave bruises and possibly it made him bleed. He was crying and crying.

My aunt didn’t say anything about it and the next day we left like nothing happened. I was 17, I didn’t know the address of the place we were staying, even. If that happened in front of me today, maybe I’d report it, tho I don’t know what good that would do. It’s really stuck with me. As much as I like my aunt, how am I supposed to be around her when she’s like that and was willing to expose me to that situation when I wasn’t legally an adult?

“It’s a long journey. You should rest,” Mando suggested from behind you. As he had taken care of things during take-off, you had piloted the crest off of the planet behind you. However, it was in desperate need of a few repairs … again. It wasn’t too worse for wear, but the damages prevented you from going into hyperspace. Nevarro was close enough, and an unannounced landing in town would be nice. Now the problem was just getting there, and what to do until you did.

“I’ll be down in a minute.” You responded shortly. You could hear him hesitate before taking the kid and clanking down to the main hull. You sat in the pilot’s seat for a moment, sorting through the thoughts swimming in your head.

You were pissed. The bounty had been spewing half-baked threats and insults the entire time Mando had dragged him back to the ship, both you and Mando covering the fire from the altercation the blue twi’lek had started as he got cuffed. And even though he was now sitting comfy in his carbonite, his last few words hadn’t left you.

“She’s a good shot; must be why you keep her around Mando, cause it sure isn’t for that face” You punched him hard enough to break his nose. It hurt like hell, but it was at least satisfying. Now you were sitting in the pilot’s seat, angry with nothing to show for it but the stinging in your hand.

“You didn’t fall asleep up here, did you?” Mando asked as he made his way inside the cockpit when you didn’t come down after a while.

“Hmm? Oh… no,” you mumbled. You heard him sigh as he sat in one of the seats next to you.

“How’s your hand?” You lifted your hand from the controls to flex it, turning your chair slightly to the side to see him better. You shrugged and made a face at him, it’s alright. He gave a soft chuckle, just barely audible through his helmet. “You hit him pretty hard.” You smiled softly in response.

“Yeah, well… he deserved it.” You dropped your hand down to your lap, resting your head against the headrest, your face dropping back to neutral.

“What he said… you know it didn’t have any weight to it, right?” He said after a few moments.

“I know,” you sighed, clenching your hand in a fist. “It just made me so mad. I’m by no means the prettiest girl in the galaxy, I know, but I look fine. I just… what gives him the right to say shit like that? And I know I’ll never be able to teach him a lesson cause he’s too dumb to know the difference, so what the hell do I do?.” You were half yelling at this point, Mando silent as he listened to your ramble. He hesitated a few moments before he leaned forward, resting his forearms on the beskar plates on his thighs.

“Do you know how many bounties try to tell me I wear the helmet to hide my face?” You didn’t know what you were expecting him to say, but that wasn’t it. All you could do was tilt your head and furrow your eyebrows in confusion, pointing at your face in reference to the helmet that covered his own. He chuckled at your reaction, nodding slightly. “When these people realize they have no leg to stand on, they pick at straws just to try and get a reaction, to start a fight. One of their last resorts is to jab at your looks, and they’ll use it on anyone. Even a Mandalorian.”

His words started to make you feel better, realizing that the comment from earlier was far more stupid and half-baked than you thought, and having only to do with you because you had to be an easier target than Mando.

“But he was right about one thing.” You looked back up at Mando again, brows raised in a silent request for elaboration. “I don’t keep you around for your looks. I do it because I enjoy your company more than my solitude,” he admitted, looking down at his gloves, and you realized he had been fiddling with them. “But you’re not so bad to look at.” You scoffed at him with a smile.

“Not so bad? Wow, thank you so much. Such high praise,” you sassed, laughing with him. When your amusement settled down, you put a hand on his, and he lifted his helmet to look at you. “I like your company too. It’s why I let you keep me around.” You smiled softly at the visor of his helmet, and he took your hand in his, rubbing softly with his thumb. You leaned back into the pilot’s seat and felt your body release its pent-up tension, and you yawned. Mando gave a soft laugh and stood from his seat, moving closer to you.

“Go get some rest, I’ll take over up here,” he said gently, using the hand in his to pull you to your feet. Before you could acknowledge him, Mando placed his other hand at the back of your neck to pull you closer, resting his helmet against your forehead.

“What’re you doin?” you giggled sweetly at him.

“The Mandalorians call it a Keldabe Kiss,” he answered softly, and you could hear a smile in his voice. “So I can give you a kiss without taking off my helmet.” He lifted his head to look you in the eye again, and your smile in response to his sweet gesture couldn’t be bigger. “Felt like it fit the moment.” You hummed in satisfaction.

“I think it definitely did.” You smiled up at him for a few more moments before he removed his hand from the back of your neck, and with both strong hands, he abruptly turned you away from him and towards the door of the cockpit.

“And I won’t tell you again,” his voice came from right beside your ear, “Go get some sleep.”

♡ you sit in front of tsukishima in homeroom while yamaguchi sits beside him so when you leaned back and asked him if you could borrow a pencil and he spat back a snarky remark about you being too irresponsible to care for your own pencils, yamaguchi hastily offered you one of his own before scolding tsukishima

“yamaguchi, do you think i could borrow a pencil again? sorry, this is the last time, i swear. i’ll be sure to get some on my way home after school tod--”

yamaguchi dropped the line him and tsukishima had rehearsed many times beforehand, while clutching his pencilcase dear to his chest, “woah, (y/n). you’re so irresponsible. sorry, i can’t lend one of my pristine pencils to someone who is too forgetful to remember to buy some; what if you forget to return it to me?”

tsukishima cringed at how forced it sounded but he couldn’t help but admire yamaguchi's dedication to his role. this allowed tsukishima to swoop in, pencil in hand, “here.” that wasn’t in the script but he panicked! okay, now, eye contact.

you just sat there and stared at both of them with the most dumbfounded look plastered on your face. what just happened? why were they both acting like they were in drama class? and why are they both so bad at acting? they’re both passing performing arts for fucks’ sake!

♡ sorry but i firmly believe kyōtani is the sorta guy to be extra mean to ppl he fancies smh

♡ the rest of them just act (somewhat) like themselves around their crush but kyōtani is himself2 (himself^2)

♡ like one time yahaba found you trembling in your locker bc you had gotten mud on mad dog’s white shoes so he chased you through the hallways of the school, threatening to trek mud on your forehead

♡ yahaba took it upon himself to investigate as to why kyōtani was so rude to you and he got his answer as soon as he mentioned your name to mad dog and the boy’s face immediately flushed red

♡ so after practise, yahaba schools mad dog on how to get chicks (⌐■_■)

♡ in short, his advice was ‘good guys get laid’ and for kyōtani’s understanding, ‘good’ and ‘kind’ were interchangeable

♡ mad dog wasn’t completely oblivious to how he treated you and he was aware that he was far from ‘kind’

♡ although he usually doesn’t listen to people in general, yahaba seemed to know what he was talking about so he figured there was no harm in trying to be nice

♡ but ngl, he just spent the rest of the day wondering...what is kind?

♡ after a few messages back and forth with yahaba, he figured that the best place to start was by apologising for - y’know - chasing you around the whole school

“oi!” kyōtani bellowed through hallway, paying no mind to the students that cast him dirty looks as his sights were locked on you. standing unsuspecting by your locker, stuffing your textbooks into your bag until you heard his deep voice echo through the hall, to which you visibly perked up and began frantically looking around.

he marched towards you, hands in pockets and when you noticed him out of the corner of your eye, you were more than ready to drop all your shit and bolt away. but he didn’t let you as before you were able to take off on your heels, he grabbed your shoulder and spun you around to face him - then he noticed your hands raised in defence by your face and your head hung low.

his heart sank and his grip on your shoulder immediately softened, “i’m not gonna punch you, idiot.” he spat, rolling his eyes and gritting his teeth, trying to appear angry in hopes you’d mistake his light blush for pure rage.

“i just wanted to say that i felt bad for chasing you through the halls yesterday - you didn’t stand a chance so i guess it was a bit unfair.” he said, frowning as you replied with silence so the duty fell on him to fill it, “and i got the stain out, anyway so.”

more silence. lovely.

suddenly, he puffed his cheeks out as his eyes snapped to meet yours and he roared, “ARE YOU GONNA FUCKING SAY SOMETHING OR ARE YOU TOO BRAINDE-”

“are you wearing eyeliner?”

and that was the true story behind why you missed last period, because you and kyōtani had a 30 minute conversation about eyeliner and make-up, then he convinced you to skip the rest of class with him so he could buy you ramen as an apology gift.

so yeah, he figured that perhaps he should try being nice more often.

you smiled as a basketball rolled up to your feet during gym class, followed by the sound of someone approaching you and upon raising your gaze, your eyes met sakusa’s unmistakable black ones. his face hovered only a few inches away from yours due to the fact you had both reached down to pick up the ball at the same time.

he quickly pulled himself away, tucking the basketball under his elbow as he adjusted his mask so it properly covered his face to ensure that you didn’t see the light blush slowly spreading across his cheeks. he then proceeded to blurt out what he had been rehearsing for the past few nights, “oh, thank you, (y/n). your hair looks lovely today, by the way.”

you giggled, holding your hands firmly by your side to avoid fidgeting and making it obvious that his sudden comment flustered you, “thanks, sakusa. and, if we’re handing out compliments today, i didn’t know you were good at any sport other than volleyball but you’re doing surprisingly well at basketball.” you joked, your lips slowly curling into a cocky smirk, “though, i don’t think you’d stand a chance against my team.”

god, you’re such a tease. you make it so hard for him to be nice to you. so, of course, your comment returned his ability to utter almost every sarcastic comment that comes to mind - screw being likeable. “you think so?” he quirked a brow, tossing the ball onto your lap then pacing backwards, “go on, then.”

“jesus christ, rintarō, shut up!” you cried, gripping the edge of your skirt to prevent your self from delivering a swift punch right to his stupid face. he’s seriously gotten on all your nerves at this point; firstly, by spamming your phone in the middle of the night asking for homework answers (accompanied by cursed memes) as he actually managed to wake you up. secondly, by acting so oblivious to the fact you clearly had a crush on him and now, this!

heat rose to his cheeks in embarrassment as his creepy smile instantly fell right back into his resting bitch face, “this isn’t working, is it?”

“what’s not working?”

suna scoffed, rolling his eyes - his façade having evidently disappeared. “this.” he sighed, looking around as if someone was going to save him before his eyes finally settled on you and he was reminded of what he wanted in the first place, his sparkle was rekindled for just a moment which caused him to blurt out, “just fuck me already, i’m not asking for much.”
