julie and the phantoms has been one of my favorite shows for over 3 years, and now with whispers and rumors of a potential season 2 i’ve been rewatching it a bunch and looping the soundtrack!
i made a couple jatp bracelets this morning while jamming out and so i give you:

Ok. so you know how Tori Caro is Kayla and also a dancer at the HGC?
What if Kayla was dead. But her deal with Caleb meant that she could show up in the world as a lifer and was bound to performing at the club at his whim?
And maybe the boys recognize her and figure it out? And (in an AU where they aren't saved or a post-series reality where they need to deal with Caleb again) they arrange for something similar to let them be "alive" with Julie at least some of the time?
Or maybe something else? This has been a little thought that I am kind of curious to know what other brains would do with!

one of my favorite scenes of jatp is in the last episode when caleb appears in the garage and luke is the first one to stand up to him, alex is hesitant but decides to stand up then immediately goes back when caleb gives him a look, and then reggie is the opposite of both of them, he doesn’t try to argue right away or stay quiet and then say something… he just doesn’t say anything and starts fidgeting. i also liked how luke looked back to check on reggie cause he knew how reggie gets during interactions like this. i love this detail cause it shows so much about their characters and i hate that we’ll never get to explore more of these sides of them.

not going to lie but Caleb’s club seems so exhausting to me? like yeah it’s fun at first with Caleb’s performances, the food, the people, and all the other stuff, but i feel like if i was there for more than a couple of hours, (either as a ghost or a lifer) it would start getting exhausting. idk i just feel like the constant partying would drain me and it’d be overwhelming.

Just finished reading this book and it was really good. While I was reading it, it put me in mind of the Hollywood Ghost Club from Julie and the Phantoms a little bit. Mysterious sorcerer, exclusive guest list, sophisticated setting and magic that has to been seen to be believed? All of that can be found in Hotel Magnifique, with a little bit of darkness thrown in as well. If you enjoyed that storyline in the show, then you’ll love this book.

Okay so obviously Caleb already had a house band, and we know that Alex at least would be replacing a pre-existing musician, since we see a drummer in TOSOH.
So do you think that happens regularly? Caleb finds a fresh new ghost that's a talented musician or dancer, and pushes someone else aside to make room for them. Are there ghosts that Caleb recruited with the promise that they could perform and shine in a way they missed out on in life, only for them to then be demoted when a newer shinier performer comes along. They get relegated to back up dancer or waiter instead of centre stage. You only play the piano part on Tuesday nights now, or maybe you take over from the Real pianist when they get bored at the end of the night, and the guests are leaving anyway. Maybe you don't perform at all anymore. Maybe you just sit at one of the tables so Caleb always has a full house, and your only job is to sit and clap for your replacement at the end of the number.
Before Willie came along, were there any other young ghosts like him? Kids who died too young, and who were quick to join the club and be taken under Caleb's wing, only to be dismissed when whatever paternal urge he had wore off, and something or someone new caught his attention. Willie has the freedom to go out and roam LA on his skateboard. Is that a sign of Caleb's favour or indifference? Imagine Willie seeking out one of the few other ghosts his age at the club in his early days, only to be met with hostility because they felt he'd stolen their place at Caleb's side.
Idk I know it's highly likely that Caleb just wham bam stamps anyone he gets tired of. I just think it would be a much more chilling concept that once you agree to join the club, you really are There for Eternity.

dreams are sweet (until they’re not)
There’s a kind of hidden desperation in each of their encounters, like this might be the last time they see each other. The chance of discovery, the reality that every day that passes means Julie’s one day older, the knowledge that this relationship can’t even exist outside of this building—it creeps into the back of their minds, bleeds over into their conversations, spills into their kisses and loving touches.
This can’t last, so we have to make the most of what we have, they tell each other. Because getting a small slice of happiness with each other is worth the inevitable pain.

Jukebogs (Julie/Luke/Reggie/Bobby), Ghost Hunters AU
"Like every episode of Ghost Bros," Luke was giving his usual spiel to the camera. "Reggie and I will be doing our investigation in the house, trying to capture evidence. Then, our resident psychic Julie will tell us if this place is actually haunted, or if our camera man Bobby used his weed dealer's connections to find another random creepy abandoned house with no ghosts."
"Stop antagonizing him!" Reggie said nervously. "Last time you antagonized him, he nearly made me pee myself during the solo investigation."
Bobby turned the camera around to film his own unimpressed face. "Luke was supposed to find that ventriloquist dummy with the knife covered in ketchup, not you," he deadpanned, before swinging the camera back around to Luke and Reggie.
Julie sighed. She knew the boy's shenanigans was part of the draw of the show, but she was the one who usually had to deal with Reggie clinging to her all night, before ghosts generally listened when she told them to buzz off. Not that they usually slept in haunted locations, except for the season finale.
"Sooo," the cute boy in the crop top who hadn't been there two seconds ago started. "Can I mess with them? Please tell me I can mess with them."
"We are not messing with them!" Another boy in a pink hoodie said. "If we mess with them, we're going to have every ghost hunter with a shitty Youtube Channel clamouring through our house, messing with our stuff. Do you have any idea how long it took me to get that dent in the couch right for my ghost butt?"
"Don't worry," Julie whispered, as to not alert the (alive) boys. "We never give up our haunted locations unless the ghosts ask us to."
"Holy shit she is psychic!" Crop Top whispered gleefully.
"Tell them to stay off my couch!" Hoodie said urgently.
"I will," Julie promised. She could let Bobby know, and he'd keep them off. "But only if you promise to go easy on Reggie."
"What about the camera man?" Crop Top asked.
Julie blinked. None of the spirits had ever really interacted with Bobby before. The ones who knew what a camera was respected his position, and the ones who didn't were usually distracted by the two idiots loudly asking questions and waving around various gadgets and asking them to touch flashlights.
"You should totally mess with the camera man," she decided. Bobby was not so much a skeptic - none of the boys were, they believed in what Julie could do- but he was pretty un-phased by pretty much everything. "That would make a great season finale."
