If the bloom wasn’t happening, the goblin court and the court of wonder would probably be at war because of the broken engagement. That’s what kind of upsets me about Rue breaking it that the marriage was a political thing and a breaking of an alliance like that results in retaliation and for Rue not to take that into account is frustrating. Cuz the broken engagement would have lead to the deaths and traumatization of the lower class for the sake of the love of the upper class.

The world of international politics, which in this case is the court system, does not take into account morals and reason only power in the poker game where everyone is cheating. Just because one party can act out of care and ideals does not mean everyone else will.

In conclusion, I would like to have Hob yell at Rue that he could’ve died in the war that would have resulted from their actions cuz I think it would be angsty :)
