Summary: Jeff Moreau has always fought twice as hard to gain the same amount of respect as his fellow officers. He didn’t expect to have that in common with a biotic with a famous last name. -or- The time that Joker befriended the future first Human Spectre.

Chapter 8: “Family”

Tiptree, St. Luke System, Llewyn Nebula

The skycar ride from the main transportation hub of Tiptree to his father’s farm got quieter the further they got from the usual stomping grounds of the Alliance. Neither Jeff nor his father broke the silence as the lights of the town faded into the unbroken darkness of night. His hand still ached, bones and muscle healing after the break as slowly as they could. Even with new cutting edge technology, doctors were still puzzled over how to help his condition.

It made him feel weak, useless.

If I don’t fly, I’ll have nothing left.

The thought was more sobering than anything else could’ve been.

He was getting some time off to heal… not that he had much choice. It was more of a ‘you take some leave or you’ll be discharged’ sort of choice. A sigh slipped past his lips and he leaned his head against the side of the car, watching as the lights of his father’s house appeared in the distance. He was tired, and not just from fighting to keep his position in flight school after his fight.

But he was weary, tired of the politics and the excuses and everything else that came with it. He knew it wouldn’t be easy when he joined, but shit, it shouldn’t be this hard either.

it's very funny to me that jordan's hair in the final scene where they're waiting on marie's bed for her to wake up is like arguably the best it's ever looked in their female form. like yea they just got their ass beat by other supes and were kidnapped? and are now locked in a room with no vanity products but don't worry their hair still looks like they've just been to the salon

Chapter 10: “Graduation"

Jeff hadn’t seen Aurora since that night at the bar over three months ago. A quick message to his omnitool explained that her mother had found out about the fight and she was now going to have to face the consequences of it. He didn’t know what ‘consequences’ meant, but he could imagine what someone like Hannah Shepard could think up. She was scary enough as someone that he’d seen from a distance. Alliance recruitment ads had a way of making someone look bigger than life and twice as intimidating.

He could understand why Daniel was so resistant to carrying on her legacy.

Not to mention, much to his surprise and perhaps a bit of apprehension, Aurora’s stepfather was none other than Admiral Hackett.

He reconsidered his friend with her briefly before shoving the thought away. Aurora was nothing but honest with him. In fact, their friendship had given him several advantages, one of them having someone who understood what it felt like to be different in a sea of ordinary people.

Sure, his kind of different and hers were… well, different. But compared to the people he saw every day on Arcturus, she was a breath of fresh air. She was kind, understanding, yet underneath all of that, she didn’t let anyone push her around. Jeff was defensive, almost immediately upon meeting someone new, knowing that they would likely pity or mock him. His attitude didn’t endear many people to him.

And dammit, he wasn’t going to let what they had go so easily… even if she had terrifyingly powerful parents.

OMG anon, how did you know that I have an entire headcanon around Kevin being smooth as f*ck on the dance floor? But it's ENTIRELY AGAINST HIS WILL.

Like literally, there's a scene in Once in a Blue Moon that I'm writing where Jeremy is going to drop this knowledge bomb on Jean and blow his freaking mind. (TBD if it makes final cut - if not, I'll come back and post it here.)

But yes. Absolutely. Jeremy knows Kevin's got the moves like jagger. Boy has instinctive rhythm and grace. It's that natural athleticism (and the boy's ability to pop it and lock it.) He takes full and unabashed advantage of this knowledge and drags Kevin into the living room to teach him the entirety of N*Sync's Bye Bye Bye so he can have an absolute MOMENT the next time they're at the club.

DYING TO BE IN THE JEAN-WYMACK TABLE RIGHT NOW........ i need to see them being passive aggressive to each other........... they're both releasing arsenic into the air and kevin's like my family~ :) the foxes have an expert tabling system that allows for no arguments to be brought up in their christmas dinner but they rarely allocate for jean so he always gets sat with wymack and they never let each other have a good christmas. it's tradition at this point. you can see how hard wedding tables planning will be now that kevin married this man

my friend and i have a kevjean au where kevin and thea get divorced a little bit after having their daughter and thea goes out to travel for a period after realizing much of her life has been only about the nest and what the ravens wanted of her even years post-college, and kevin ends up being a stay at home dad of sort post-retirement. this is important because i am going to tell you this: when jean becomes a stepfather he takes it SERIOUSLY. a mix of booze and whimsy forces him to dress as santa claus for amalia one christmas and now he does it every year with no exception. i need you to imagine jean moreau dressed up as santa for kevin's little daughter. ok. i need you to visualize that with me

Happy 99th birthday anniversary to the godfather of cinema Marlon Brando 🎉🎂

Speaking about working with Brando, Kilmer said:

“Brando was everything you want the major icon in your world to be, a genius and a gentleman. I was getting divorced at the time and he was so gracious about offering me time and considered thought. He offered to call my ex on behalf of the children.

“He was one of the funniest men on earth. I still laugh out loud about some of the things he said and did. I mean he literally wore a salad bowl over his head.
