Snake And Otacon Courtroom Sketch - Standing for Their Crimes

Joan Baez' "Here's to You" is a sensational track, and one that made Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes introduction that much more impactful and salient. However, originally Kojima planned to use the piece in MGS 4, in a scenario where Solid (Old) Snake and Hal Emmerich (Otacon) are synonymous with persecuted, and executed, anarchists Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Although still utilized in MGS 4's end credits, I do believe it loses its gravitas with the way the ending was changed (plus I prefer Joan Baez' original rendition).

Although I am happy with the ending we received, I wanted to pay homage to Kojima's original vision, which I do feel is more emotionally impactful, and true to how radical political actors are treated (Just look at Edward Snowden).

Just Finished: Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

How the f… was this achievement possible in 1990? I mean the level of detail on actions, command and possibilities is stunning for an 80's machine. Kojima took the first game over the next level and simply made another piece of artwork, on a narrative based action game. Stealth, action, cleverness, Story, puzzle and lots of backtracking for a game that came later to define the industry. However its definition was largely formed here on this title and its previous. Genius Kojima, simply genius.

Hi everyone! These last two portraits I shared with you are part of a new ongoing series about my sources of inspiration: illustrators, storytellers, actors, fiction characters. Today I introduce you to the main inspiration in my life: genius game creator Hideo Kojima Sama. I discovered his work when I was 7, with Metal Gear Solid — I was fascinated by every aspect of this game, especially its anti-war message, the atmosphere and the immersiveness. I played every game of the MGS series since, including, years later and all grown-up, the last one: The Phantom Pain. My last incursion in Kojima's worlds has been his latest and most daring enterprise, a new kind of adventure and storytelling that pushed again the boundaries of gaming: Death Stranding, which has changed the way I think and see the world.
