if i think of the huge character development spike goes through... god i need to sit down. my abhorrent little meow meow! the changes are just so big!!!! that bitch invented breaking free of the narrative rules... and his journey from being The Enemy to being The Ally and The Friend and The Home, not to mention how he goes from having no moral reference system at all because he can’t have an internal one, to buffy becoming his moral compass (the Intervention of it all...!!!), to getting his own internal compass along with literally reclaiming his personhood and becoming a champion of good and light...!!!!!!! transforming through such disordered, messy processes of messing up only to do it right only to mess it up only to-- at the side of someone who's herself providing disordered company and messy feedback because she’s herself fucked up, but they still get there eventually, both of them do!!!
