It's been a while since I've shared an AU but I have a lot of thoughts about Skizz and Joel joining hermitcraft and I've decided to turn it into G/t.

So basically, Skizz and Joel are joining hermitcraft but something goes wrong. Everyone is starting in a circle for the start of the season but their two newest memebers are nowhere to be seen. Everyone is confused and more than a bit worried when messaging them yields no results.

Meanwhile, Skizz and Joel wake up in a field, only a few inches tall and with no memory except their names and a vague sense of familiarity towards each other.

Because of their memory loss, they reasonably assume they have always been that size and decide to set up a small base in a tree and try to avoid the giants of the server at all costs.

Of course, eventually they get found and caught and a lot of misunderstandings come about it. Because even though these people feel familiar, it's hard for both Skizz and Joel (mostly Joel) to believe they are telling the truth.

Have a little snippet of something I wrote for this! This takes place after Skizz and Joel are caught a second time. (Also, they refer to themselves as borrowers because that is what they believe they are).

Joel held out his sword and as the giant hand came toward him he slashed at it, sending it reeling back. “Ow! Joel!”

Before Joel could react again, Grian’s other hand came at him and knocked him over, holding him down against the dirt. Joel felt the wind get knocked out of him for a brief moment before he struggled to try and get away.

“Grian! Stop, you’re going to hurt him!” Joel heard Gem cry as Joel realized he wasn’t able to get his hands or sword free.

“It’s fine Gem, it’s not like I’m using my full strength.” Grian answered back and Joel froze in his struggle. Realization crashing down on him that, yeah, this wasn’t even close to the giant’s full strength. It was probably barely even any sort of strength to the giant. And yet, Joel couldn’t free himself, because even when the giant was barely using any of his strength, Joel was nothing against him.

He deflated, knowing he was trapped. Knowing he was caught once again.

“Are you done?” Grian asked from above. Joel didn’t dignify him with an answer but he felt the hand around him curl in on him anyway and soon he was being held in a fist and lifted high into the air. He gave a half attempt to try and pull out the arm holding his sword but it was still trapped within the grip.

Joel tried to look at anything but the giants surrounding him, finally noticing that Skizz also seemed to have gotten caught. Though instead of being held in a fist like him, Skizz was being cradled between two hands by Impulse. The two borrowers shared a look, with Skizz looking sympathetic towards the situation Joel had found himself in.

“We really are just trying to help you. And Skizz.” Grian tried but Joel didn’t want to listen.

Concept.

Characters A B and C etc. are Faeries where in the faerie realm the technology is modern day equivalent. I'm talking phones, electricity, the internet, the whole nine yards.

The human world, on the other hand, is in medival mincraft-y times. The fae can cross over to the human world and do rather frequently to screw with them. because fae. and mischief

Character D is a human who is quite traumatized and does not act like your typical person because of this.

The fae find character d and decide to take it in. however none of them know anything about humans and therefore they turn to human-pet careguides on faeriepedia and faetube.

The problem is, however. that the human they pick up does not act or react like a normal human should.

Ideas I've had for the life series = toddlers in a playground au we all seem to like atm:

'golden' apples are actually just yellow apples that the daycare get sometimes, but they've all decided that their magical.

It's actually an afterschool club, and mumbo usually doesn't go, but his mum's car broke down, so he joined the games for a little while until the car was fixed and he stopped going again.

The afterschool thing also explains why there's a long-ish time between episodes. School feels like it takes forever for most kids, so it feels like forever between each game.

The Watcher/Listener thing was from a game at Grian and the others old school, but they've decided it was a secret and to not tell anyone.

Grian was off school because he was sick in the afk episode, so he left his plushy to play the game instead so he didn't miss out (currently can't decide whether it should be a parrot plushy or smthn else)

all of their separate smps (hermitcraft, empires, etc) are just different form classes their in, but not everyone goes to the afterschool club, which is why not everyone is there.

the whole 'rift ' crossover was just the kids way of explaining their two classes getting merged because of short staffing. The hermit shrinkers was just Grian stealing people's shoes because the heel made them taller.

All of their builds were either made from Lego or a toyhouse.

Joel did borrow a dictionary/thesaurus from the teacher for the bad/mad/sad/rad/dad/vlad boys joke.

Same thing with the ahas.

-I downloaded Hermitcraft S8 and spent 13 hours straight sorting Grian’s chest monsters yesterday.

-I've written 17 pages of my borrower AU so far and I am not done yet but not too much more I don’t think.

sorry. okay. things from joe's episode alone that delight me so far, i have literally only watched their episode, i haven't gotten around to anyone else yet this one is just rotating too much:

joe spends the entire first five minutes of this episode trying to come up with as many ways to misinterpret the very little information she has from the compass and grian's base as possible

i actually. hadn't seen the little circuit banners in grumbot' before, or at least hadn't noticed them, thanks for showing them off

joe is mesmerized by the cube.......

the transition between hermitcraft and empires is IMPRESSIVELY smooth actually

grian: "don't look at me!" joe, immediately: "everybody look at grian"

oli and joe interacting is EXACTLY everything i had hoped it would be. it's so funny. they're two normal weirdguys interacting in normal weirdguy ways.

joe is just vibing but he gives off such a confused and overwhelmed vibe this whole time (in like, roleplay mode) and it's really funny he's just. nodding along here. sure why not that makes sense

joe and pearl both instantly being like :D I KNOW THAT GUY when they see each other

everyone on this side of the pov keeps on repeating to joe that the sheriff here is really corrupt and that's like, very much going to come back and bite them later, isn't it

they go to stratos and find grian and he's just. stealing things. and insisting he's borrowing

grian is WEIRDLY TOUCHED that scott just gives him food and stuff he's like. wait i... don't have to steal? madness

scar and cub are hanging out with joel and in that time scar has discovered that joel is a "chiseled god" and declares he may have better abs than he has. grian thinks this is blasphemy.

grian and scar IMMEDIATELY die to the gaps in the paths in upper stratos

scott showing pearl the farming goddess temple and badly mispronouncing pearl. pearl being like "wait is this me" but then just like. entirely moving on. pearl, honey,

it's really clear that they did not discuss how canon the life series should or shouldn't be because impulse recognizes scott, scott doesn't recognize impulse, they play it off as impulse not having a beard, lol.

joe just getting increasingly overwhelmed and confused and being like. right that's enough. there's too much happening. i'm just going to leave now. and then she does

Who am I?

❤️My name is Munchkin! I'm your casual g/t enthusiast, and I do writing, art and also some irl stuff making! What is g/t?

G/t stands for giant/tiny, and it's a community for people who enjoy being (you guessed it) giant or tiny! Usually, it's a form of comfort, feeling the need to protect or be protected, but it can also be used as a kink. That is NSFW G/T. This blog is strictly SFW G/T. I will not hesitate to block you if you do that, for it makes me uncomfortable and I am not okay with it. (Sorry if this description is bad, there are better ones-)

had a thought. in social species, avoiding getting isolated from the group for an extended period of time is a survival instinct. hunger au grian's implied to have been basically not socializing during his time kicked from hermitcraft, just running and occasionally ducking into some random server to eat and hating himself for it. that's probably not helping his eating disorder situation, if on some level he's associated eating with being kicked out.

Oh yeah for sure :(( i think abt this a LOT, about the isolation he went through during that period before the search party found him. That was almost a full year of not really talking to anybody, never seeking close contact, deliberately keeping his distance except for the few times he snuck somewhere to feed and do the bare minimum to keep his code from falling apart. And eventually, he gave up even doing that, and took to the in-between to just. Move. Keep moving. No real focus, no actual destination in mind. For a very long time, it was move forward or die, and when he finally detected that the search party had tracked him down, he realized he'd only been delaying the inevitable and made a decision about it.

It kinda breaks my heart, ngl. To be so lonely and scared and knowing in your heart that you're living on borrowed time. To run as far and as fast as you can against the inevitable, out of pure desperation and stubbornness. In the fic, i mention that Grian considers getting kicked out of Hermitcraft as a death sentence, and that wasnt an exaggeration. He knew. He knew, deep down, from the moment he got kicked, that this was only going to end one way. Grian's a master of denial, yeah, but you can only look death in the face for so long before you realize it's been here the whole time.

His return to Hermitcraft in particular is gonna delve into this. It's gonna delve into a lot of things, tbh, but his isolation very much changed him. It's gonna be a long road, recovery-wise, with lots of set backs and non-linear healing. And, quite frankly, he may never truly be the same!! It'll be up to all of them to successfully reach a new normal together, once they actually get to that point in the narrative❤️ ;;;

Ok so I came up with this idea a few days ago and I keep forgetting to post it, but here it goes.

This is another watchers/listener idea however in this au Evo doesn’t exist. Also Grian is the only player who is a watcher and Martyn is the only player who is a listener.

The idea is that almost everyone in Minecraftia (hermitcraft/empires/etc.) knows about watchers. And everyone who knows about them knows (read: believes) that they aren’t actually real. They are just folk tales used to keep people from griefing each other or to encourage people to replace items they accidentally destroyed during pranks.

Cue to the few people who have never heard the legend of the watchers: Mumbo, Scar, Pearl, Impulse, Ren, and Jimmy.

Mumbo will be working away on a project when a book will appear at random reminding him to take a break. He huffs fondly and finishes up what ever part of his machine he’s working on before heading out to grab some lunch since he knows Grian (his mysterious magical friend) wouldn’t want him to skip meals.

Scar’s elytra breaks mid flight and he’s mentally preparing himself to crash when he’s caught by a man with Purple wings and eyes dressed in red. Scar thanks Grian for saving him… again

Pearl loses track of one of her wolfs and gets geared up to find it only to find it tied up by her front door with a sign from Martyn letting her know that Zedaph had borrowed it.

Impulse’s shop accidentally gets blown up by a creeper. He’s annoyed and goes to get stuff from his base to do a temporary repare only to see that the shop is fixed and better yet Grian has bought some stock!

Ren gets lost in a cave after going out resource gathering and is afraid he won’t be able to get back to his base before a monster gets a lucky shot off of him. But luckily for him Martyn shows up with a torch and guides him back to his base while keeping the monsters at bay.

Jimmy is surprised to see a gift in his house when he arrives home. Once he reads the book inside he finds out it’s from Grian and Martyn who despite not being part of the empire server saw he was having a bad day and left the gift to cheer him up.

In the end those who know the stories of watchers know they are fake. Those who don’t… well they receive plenty of magical favors ;)

Everyone from the dsmp are borrowers there living in the walls of the bases and having underground tunnels so they can get to each other and stuff

And they're trying to stay hidden, as borrowers do, but eventually at least one of them does get seen-

(probably Tommy, I'm probably gonna end up making it Tommy- or Dream- I already have some ideas for them-)

I'm actually really really tempted to actually do stuff with this au

I just gotta figure where everyone is living methinks

monsters splitting hairs by Silverskye13: Fantasy AU, centered on Ren, Doc and Gem as monsters living a mountain town, keeping their less-than-human nature secret. Double, Double Boogey Trouble by ShadesSwift99: Last Life AU with Boogeyman Mumbo, but something’s not right. Overall a very distressing time, but he ends up mostly okay! Words: 2,213 Chapters: 1/1

Wooden Mausoleum by skelew: Third Life AU where Martyn betrays the Red Army, but not for the reasons you might think. Major angst, beautifully painful. Words: 3807 Chapters: 1/1

From the Archives by sixteenthdays: An ongoing TMA crossover series, already with several statements from different hermits and non-hermits. References Third Life/Last Life as well, and just really cool! No knowledge of TMA is needed. Words: 22,741 Works: 10

late at night, when the stars don’t quite right by lunarblazes: Empires SMP and Hermitcraft crossover, Pearl-centric with focus on Gem and Grian. Pearl is a Ruler without a patron, but then an odd parrot lands in her backyard and things get,, interesting. Fantasty elements, and angst with a happy ending. Words: 46270 Chapters: 6/6

I finally named my borrowers fic. It's called "Stuck Here A Little While" Because Grian is stuck there while he heals and he's little and it has the word little. It's not amazing but it's better than the placeholder title it's had all this time. Everything that was previously tagged #hermitcraft borrowers AU is now tagged as #Stuck Here A Little While.
