Moash has had different motives in every book. In the first book his goal was surviving after he had been made a slave whose job was literally being sent out to die. In the second book he was definitely after revenge (hey so was Kaladin unless challenging Amaram to a duel was meant to be read as purely pragmatic) but he was also convinced that he was working with a subversive group who wanted to depose the [OBJECTIVELY bad] king and put a better government in place. In the third book his goal had returned to not dying again because he was a slave again, until he saw singers enslaving and abusing other singers at which point he put his life on the line to protect them and to beg a fused not to recreate the worst parts of humanity. We all know that he's our very special boy for having killed Elhokar in the palace, but he wasn't even there in the first place because of revenge, textually he was just sticking with his singer friends hoping to keep them from dying as well. In the fourth book he was written to be a Bad Guy.
this party is already shaping up to be bananas and there's still two people to come
