How I'm bypassing tumblr's new tracking bullshit
On mobile, I tried to remove Tumblr's URL tracking bullshit from a link -- as per @pizza-and-ramen's post -- but it wasn't working anymore.
Came to realize that Tumblr was generating a new "post ID" every time I tried to copy the link.
So here's what I did.
Open a web browser 👐
Search the URL of the blog you're linking from 🔍
Click on their page in the results ↖️
Deny any prompting to open in the app. 🚫 Stay in the browser
Search for the post in question 🔍
Click the meatball menu (•••) on the post and select "Permalink" ⛓
Check the URL in your URL bar for any other tracking crap such as /amp and remove it ✂️
Copy the new URL now in your URL bar 📀
Safely paste to your heart's content 💙

Well, hello there, it is me. The worst person ever lol
But in all seriousness, I don't think I was ever going to be gone for good. Especially because going away did not work, it did not resolve anything. The harassment that I was experiencing on here just followed to other platforms.
I have been accused of the most ridiculous things. Like for example, that I have stolen all of my own gifs, that I pretend to be Eric Carr because I run a fan account for him. Apparently I am also a gatekeeper in the fandom claiming Eric as my own property. And then the most ridiculous one. That I am a whitesupremacist because my apartment walls are white.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry at this point. It doesn't matter where I go, it's the same shit everywhere.
I don't understand where all of this harassment started from. I have never had a problem with anybody. Then all of a sudden, like overnight, I get all of this shit on me.
I've been trying to understand where it comes from. Everybody who I have spoken with has said that it sounds like jealousy and here I am thinking what's there to be jealous of??
Whoever is behind this, they are extremely obsessed. It doesn't matter where I go - there they are. If it is the same person, that is. So honestly, it doesn't matter where I am, so may as well come back here! 🤷♀️ I have missed everybody and I felt really bad when I saw all the messages from people begging me to NOT leave.
Going forward, there is going to be some changes. For starters, I am not going to allow anonymous asks anymore. I know that's going to affect some people's ability to send asks and I'm really sorry about that. All the lovely anons I have gotten over the years, I feel for ya. But this is about my mental health now and I need to take it seriously.
These harassers are trying to push me off the internet or at least out of the fandom. Well, I aint going anywhere, suckers. And I hope this is the last post that I have to make about this. I am so ready to move on!

Tumblr also moved the way to add tags to a post so i keep clicking the wrong button when i go to add my responses... stop updating the website in ways that deviate from the muscle memory ive built up over the last decade its not cute its extremely annoying... :/
#i can use tumblr on muscle memory!!! except no i cant because they keep changing it!!!#also i feel like every change makes navigation harder and its not just because they changed something#its because the change is less convenient#like the tag button was good where it was because it was so easy to hit but now they replaced it with a read more and the mature block page#and its like#.... literally almost every user on this site uses both of those less often than they use the tags#hellsite

most compulsory readings i had in high school were either the bible or just have somewhat christiany-themes to it cuz i went to a catholic school (i knooow) but there was this rare time we were made to read tell-tale heart by edgar allan poe and it was just ♡ there was also these two classics called noli me tangere and el filibusterismo that come hand in hand and we never got to finish it but i read it over my free time for funsies ahaha (my mom tells me noli is better but between u and me,, i think el fili is phenomenal)

Am I the only person who's still able to see reblog chains? I keep seeing people talk about how they're gone but they still exist on my end.
