Headmistress Rosehearts AU: The Aftermath of Riddle's Overblot

((Thank you to the beta readers on Discord for looking over the first draft; I truly appreciate your feedback! And thank you @adrianasunderworld for taking a look over it and your kind words! To the readers: I hope you all enjoy this story!))

Riddle can't take it anymore and Overblots in front of his mother. She is stunned, but snaps out of it and raises her wand. After a couple of seconds of doing nothing, she spins around and orders the students to bring her son back, but the students are already vacating the area. No one pauses; it's like they didn't hear her despite her screaming. Serves her right for turning the school into a prison of suffocation and misery.

But the students are parting away as they walk--they're making way for Trey. And Cater, Deuce, Ace, the Leech twins and Azul, Chenya (who later explains that he had been sneaking in the last few weeks to make sure Riddle was all right), and finally Yuu and Grim. The heathens Headmistress Rosehearts kept away from her son. But they were the only ones willing to save Riddle, their peer and friend.

She initially tries to order them on how to fight, but she gets distracted by Riddle releasing all of his grief to those who would listen. She ends up getting into an argument with him, still trying to persuade him that what she was doing was for the greater good. Her face gets redder with each raw truth that comes out of him; everything she says is rebutted with the reveal of a consequence that had she brushed off. If you pay attention, you may notice something within her breaking.

Finally, the battle is over. She tries approaching her son, but is blocked by Ace and Deuce. "Don't even think about it! You've done enough already," Deuce says. The duo is joined by the Leech twins.

"No," she says hoarsely, then clears her throat. She seemed startled by how soft her voice had become; it was unlike the firm tone she always had. Her wild silver eyes fix on her son. "I need to fix him. I know what--"

"Didn't you hear what he was saying before and while he was Overblotted?" Ace interrupts, frustrated. "He doesn't need you hovering over him when he wakes up."

She glares at Ace, but he doesn't back off. "I have been trained for these situations and I am perfectly qualified to handle this, unlike all of you ignorant children. I will--"

"Yeah, no. We've dealt with this plenty of times and we know he will be perfectly fine with his friends." Yuu has come to stand in the space between Ace and Deuce.

"And you sincerely believe that he would be best around those who have no medical training on treating post-Overblots?"

"We believe he needs to be around those who won't make him feel dread. Seriously, are you blind? You hurt him severely and shouldn't be near him, especially when he's like this! What is it going to take for you to realize that? Riddle Overblotting again?"

Headmistress Rosehearts's face turns from deep pink from the screaming match earlier into a wrathful shade of red. "How dare you say such things, you insolent brat!" The woman lunges at Yuu, who flinches, but she is held back by Ace and Deuce. "You don't know how to raise a child properly! You can't even get that waste of space under your control."

"What did you call me?" Grim bristles and has to be held back by Cater, who whispers something to him.

Yuu's fists clench tighter, blood rushing through their ears, and they barely manage to calm themself down. As much as they want to repay the woman back for all the insults (and unjust punishment while they were at it), this was not the time. They do their best to control their breathing as they reply, their sentences slightly warbling. "He's his own person and he's learning how to be better, one day at a time. Just like your son. Neither are perfect but they are great friends when they're truly themselves and get to explore, if you even care to listen."

"It would be a waste to get her to listen. She lacks the heart to want to," Azul says from behind, shaking his head in mock sadness.

"He only needs to follow what I say!" Headmistress Rosehearts yells. "Every single second counts for who he will become and he will be above all of you. He will be someone you will never touch, and it will be because of my efforts!"

"Your son is not a trophy for you to parade around. He has his own needs and if you keep ignoring them, THIS is going to happen," Ace scolds. He feels a light sense of deja vu and mentally huffs.

The argument rages on, moving to other personal matters. ". . . The rest of your parents don't have even an inkling of the best way to raise a son and it shows."

"Miss Rosehearts, I have always tried to see light in every situation, and listening to you talk about other parents since you took over has enlightened me. It seems that pointing out flaws whether imaginary or harmless, even things they have absolutely no control over, will make you a model parent. If that is your way of thinking, then you are pathetic. It gives the impression that you aren't confident in your own parenting style and keeps even the most soundest of people from wanting to approach you, out of disgust over your paranoid behavior. As brilliant as you are, you are just as abhorrent."

"You tell her, Jade. I'm glad our mama is not like you. There's a reason why she can live in the Coral Sea and not you." Floyd grins at the headmistress, sharp pearrly whites gleaming and something dark and proud shining in his eyes, matching his brother's.

"And my mother is doing her best as a single parent despite all the hardships that come with it. She never did anything wrong and I care deeply about her. That is why I strive to move beyond my past, even if it means accepting every insult that comes my way," Deuce adds. "It's just as Jade-senpai says. You beating down on her and others won't make you any better."

"I know what's best for my son!" Headmistress Rosehearts snaps. "He would not be at the top of his class without me. He would not have obtained his Unique Magic as a child if it wasn't for my parenting. It was all me! His father would have ruined his life if he had his way. He would have become worthless and like every lazy, wretched beast in this school."

"But you left me with pain that caused me to Overblot." There is silence. Riddle is sitting up with the help of Trey and Chenya.

There is something in his mother's face that is hard to decipher, but that's because it's buried under so much fury and venom. He starts to wilt, but the reassuring presence of his childhood friends on either side and Cater behind him lets him continue. "Mother, you may have wanted what was best for me, but you have hurt me regardless. You refused to consider my emotions and needs and that amounted to the first Overblot incident at this school in centuries. I was healing and becoming better on my own afterwards until you took the position as Headmistress. You caused me grief. You caused my friends grief. You forced the school to follow unnecessary rules and punished too harshly. You have caused misery with your oppression and refuse to acknowledge it. That is unforgivable. A ruler must recognize when they are doing more harm than good for their people, even if it means breaking principle. Once I have fully healed, I will not have anything to do with you anymore."

"NO!" She wretches herself away from Ace and Deuce's grip, but the Leech twins are quick to take their spot in holding her back. She is fuming, struggling to get to her son. "I am your mother! You will not leave me like I am nothing. I read every book on parenting, I did my research, I created flawless plans for you to be the best and sacrificed everything for you. I put in all of my effort and tolerated every single pathetic outburst. You have no right to leave me!"

Her eyes become glossy and Yuu wonders if this cold woman will actually cry. Was it out of frustration that she wasn't getting her way? Or her son leaving her? Either way, Yuu wasn't feeling an ounce of sympathy, not after everything the Headmistress did to them, their friends and peers, and her own son. "You will regret leaving me!"

"Hey, did it ever hit you that he doesn't owe you anything?" Ace says. "Yeah, he was born to you, but you were the one who chose to do those things for him. He didn't ask for any of it and he isn't responsible for what you choose to do. He's old enough now that he doesn't have to listen to every word you say, for his own future or anything else."

"I will not listen to an immature miscreant who fails to follow his brother's excellence!" Headmistress Rosehearts starts thrashing as Riddle is helped to his feet and guided away. "Don't you dare walk away from me! I did everything for you! You belong to me! You two! It's both of your fault for making him turn away from his own mother!"

As Headmistress Rosehearts throws accusations at Trey and Chenya for ruining her son, Yuu watches them carefully. Their body language betrays nothing and they don't look back. Yuu notices Cater, walking behind the trio of childhood friends, moving to walk between Trey and Riddle, like he is trying to shield them both from Headmistress Rosehearts.

"Would you shut up already? No one wants to listen to you," Floyd snaps.

Suddenly, she falls silent and all movement stops.

The twins look down at her in cautious curiosity. Darkness has fallen over her face and her cold silver eyes are unreadable. "He won't listen to me because he has been listening to bad influences," she says to herself. "The Overblot was because of all those influences. I let him go too soon, just like how I allowed him free time and he betrayed my trust. I let my guard down and let him be embraced by an incompetent headmaster. I just need to set him on the right path again. Pull him out of this horrid school, teach him, set him right, lock him up until he's ready again--Riddle, Riddle! Come back! It isn't too late to change back!"

Her distress rerises when he doesn't listen. Tears stream down her face, creating a trail of watery ink. The twins are starting to have difficulty keeping her in her place. Azul notices and summons ice to encapsulate her body, an uneasy look on his face from the contents of her ranting. "RIDDLE! DON'T YOU DARE DISOBEY YOUR MOTHER! COME BACK THIS INSTANT! YOU NEED TO BE RIGHTED!"

When he still doesn't turn around, she falls into mumbling. "The incident is because of everyone here poisoning your mind. Because of the bakers' son feeding you all of that sugar. The oversized pest for teaching you to give up. I will bring you back to your senses. Only I can do it because I am strong, I know what I'm doing, and no one can comprehend that what I'm doing is right because everyone is below us. . ."

Those left behind look on in disgust. "Ugh, so annoying! Can I squeeze her already?" Floyd complains.

Jade tries to placate his twin, but he stops mid-sentence. Floyd notices the reason soon after.

There is a dark presence surrounding Headmistress Rosehearts, and everyone present know too well what it means.

Overblot.

The twins quickly jump away. Yuu spins around to the leaving group and cups their hands over their mouth. "Guys! Get Riddle out of here! She's gonna OB!"

Those present want to let her become an ink monster, but then she would be escaping her comeuppance, wouldn't she?

Plus, it would have been a shame to let the footage Ortho and some students had recorded of the whole ordeal--before, during, and after--go to waste.

Meeting the Headmistress.

Here it is, I wrote a fic featuring my OC’s that’s based on the Headmistress Rosehearts AU that @adrianasunderworld and @mangacupcake (sorry for the @’s just in case). The AU has held my intresest and given me these ideas as to how my OC’s would react hearing or interacting with Mother Rosehearts.

“Excuse me.”

A single ear flick but no response.

“Excuse me, young man!”

J.J. growled and opened his eye, peering down at the woman standing at the base of the tree who was looking up at him with folded arms and a tapping foot. Her short hair a shade of red that reminded J.J. of his dorm leader, she wore a dark red pants suit with a white undershirt. Her large silver eyes stared holes into the student.

“What.” Came the near snarl from the 4th year.

The woman looked offended. “How dare you speak to me in that tone.”

“How else am I gonna speak to you?” He snapped, red and black eyes glaring at her.

“In a proper and respectful tone,” She placed a hand over her chest in a way that mimicked Riddle. “Is the correct way to address your headmistress.”

“Headmistress?” A thin black eyebrow raised as J.J. moved away from the upper trunk his back was against. “You ain’t our headmaster.”

She smiled almost smugly. “I am now and you shall address me as Headmistress Rosehearts.”

‘Rosehearts... shit, she’s Riddle’s mother.’ J.J. nonverbally groaned and felt his body slump it’s way out of the tree, where he landed on his feet in front of her.

Rosehearts grimaced. “Must you be so uncouth?”

“Where’s Crowley?”

“Gone. The students here need to be properly taught and he wasn’t doing his job. Which is evident because you’re the only 4th year still on campus.”

“Evan came back, didn’t he? So why am I being singled out?”

“Because you’re the only one with a track record.”

J.J. snorted. “So you know me?”

“I read your file. You’ve caused quite a few problems, for the school and for my son.”

The fae opened his mouth but shut it, choosing instead not to say anything about Riddle’s overblot. “So, if that’s the case, why come to me?”

“I’m introducing myself to all the dorms here and you weren’t at the meeting Riddle called.”

J.J. shrugged. “Whoops.”

“Such flagrant disregard for the rules!” She screeched, causing J.J. to flinch from the sound. “How could your parents have raised a child such as yourself? Surely they must not know a thing about parenting.”

“Hey.” The 4th year glared. “My parents raised me just fine, thank you very much. And I don’t take kindly to someone insulting them.”

“It’s not an insult if it’s fact.”

J.J. felt something inside him snap and he let out a growl, smoke passing through his clenched teeth. “Listen here-”

“Mother.” Riddle has chosen at that time to appear. “Shouldn’t you be off to the other dorms?”

“I had to find this ruffian first and reprimand him for his rule breaking. Shouldn’t you have taught him better by now, Riddle?”

“I’m sorry, but he’s been... very adamantly against the rules. I’m teaching him to respect them more.” Riddle sent J.J. a look, eyes telling him to calm down before he sets anything on fire. “Go on and apologize to the Headmistress, J.J.”

J.J. crosses his arms in a huff and snarls out a “Sorry.”

Rosehearts seems to take it as she announces she’s leaving and makes her way to the Heartslabyul mirror. The pair watch as she departs before Riddle turns to J.J.

“J-”

“Don’t. Nothing you say could make what she said hurt any less.” His eyes moved towards his dorm leader. “Then again... like mother, like son.” He turned on his heel and made his way into the dorm, completely ignoring Riddle’s attempts to call him back.

“Heard the new Headmistress is causing problems for the dorm leaders.”

“I heard she forced Shroud to start attending classes without his tablet.”

Xavier listened to the various whispers around him as he looked through a selection of books at the library. He thumbed through a few of them before the whispers got too distracting and he left. Dusk had hit Sage Island as the 1st year began his trek back to the Scarbia dorm. Students passed by him, a few called his name which he gave a simple wave and a smile in return. Passing by Sam’s shop, a familiar voice called out to him.

“Yo Xav!”

Xavier stopped and turned, seeing someone sprint up towards him from the shop. His long navy hair was tied back in a loose ponytail and he wore the dorm uniform of Octavinelle. His mouth was stretched in a wide smile, showing up his rose of sharp teeth. His gray eyes were bright and happy as he slowly approached him.

“Hello, Rascal. Are you picking up stuff for the Lounge?”

“Nah, I just got off and I didn’t have time to change cause I forgot to pick something up from Sam’s.” Rascal waved a bag up before looping an arm around Xavier as best as he could. “Where ya coming back from?”

“The Library. I was studying but the whispers got too much for me.”

“Eh, I guess. Dude,” Rascal leaned forward. “The Headmistress is a total dictator though. All this stuff she’s making the ghosts and the teachers do, like yikes man.”

“Hmm.”

“I’d hate to have a mom like that for real. I mean my mom can get a little too much sometimes, but Rosehearts has to deal with that every time he comes home and stuff.”

“I don’t want to talk about this right now.” Xavier sighed. “I’d like to go an hour without thinking about this stuff.”

“Right, right, sorry.” Rascal leaned away from him and the two walked in silence for a bit before he spoke up again. “Hey, wanna come over and play some cards or play games or-”

“You two!”

The pair of them froze as a yell came from behind them, followed by the telltale sounds of heels clicking against the pavement. Both of them slowly turned to face Headmistress Rosehearts in all her fiery glory.

“Mr. Gallucci.” She spoke, hands on hips as she stared at Rascal.

“Y-yeah?”

“Why did I hear a report of you casting illusion spells on students to make them see giant spiders?”

“Just a prank.” Rascal laughed but stopped upon seeing Roseheart’s glare grow in intensity.

“I’ve come to confiscate what’s in the bag.”

“Uh, no.” Rascal put the bag behind him. “That’s my business and not yours.”

“How dare you!”

“Ma’am.” Xavier stepped in. “His brother asked him to pick up some medicine due to him not feeling good. If we’re late in delivering it-”

“And you are?”

“Huh?” Xavier blinked in confusion at being interrupted. “X-Xavier Soria.”

“Soria... Soria...” She frowned. “You’re the son of the Ruffians who live to the south of Queendom, aren’t you?”

“R-Ruffians? My parents aren’t anything of the sort, ma’am.”

“I beg to differ. That stuff they call ‘music’ is nothing more than attracting the bad side of the Queedom. The riff raff side.”

“My parents make wonderful sounding music, ma’am. They bring joy and happiness to the people who listen.”

“And poison their brains. They can spend their time being more productive.”

Xavier frowned and closed his purple eyes in an effort to calm himself down. He felt Rascal reach out and grab his hand.

“If that’s what you think of my family, Headmistress, then I am sad to hear that. Now if you’ll excuse me and Rascal, we’ll be on our way back to our dorms.” Xavier all but pulled Rascal away and made a fast track towards the hall of mirrors.

“Xav-”

“How dare she speak that way about my family.” He muttered. “They’ve done amazing things for the Queendom, donated to multiple charities, and did a non-profit concert to help those in need. And then she insults them, right to their son’s face.”

“Xavier, calm down.”

Xavier sighed and let go of Rascal’s hand, choosing instead to drag them through his light brown hair and fiddle with his braid. “I’m sorry, she just... had no right.”

“Want to come over? Or I’ll come over to your place, maybe we could hold our own mini concert?”

“I’d... I’d like that.”

“She’s getting out of hand.” Rouge muttered to themselves as they watched Rosehearts reprimand a set of Savanaclaw students in the hallway. “Wish someone would just put her in her place already.”

They turned on their heel and quickly walked away before they could be spotted by the Headmistress. Alast they weren’t fast enough as they heard their name being called.

“Rouge Willow.”

“Damnit.” Their ears fell as they turned to face her. “Yes?”

“You and the other one attached to you-”

“Ruggie.”

“Yes, him. Are the pair of you not Kingscholar’s caretakers?”

“Caretaker is a strong word.” Rouge crossed their arms as their tail flicked behind them. “Why?”

“It seems he didn’t heed my warning about going to classes.”

“To be honest, miss, not even Ruggie and I can get him to do that on a good day.”

She made a sound of exaggeration. “I see. So it would seem I have to cancel any Spelldrive-”

“Woah, woah, cancel?” Rouge blinked. “All because Leona ain’t going to class? Ain’t that a little extreme?”

“One must be punished for not heeding when warned.”

“But one person?”

“Yes. This is how it works in the real world, Willow.”

“Yeah but don’t punish the whole pack for one bad hunter.”

She stared at them. “You and Bucchi said the exact same thing.”

“Cause we’re both right.”

“Sure, you are. I may refrain from shutting down the club if you and Bucchi get Kingscholar to his classes. Am I understood?”

“....Crystal.”

“Perfect, and one more thing. You and Bucchi get proper fitting uniforms.”

“This is all we could afford, Ruggie and I don’t come from a place of money, yea know.”

“NRC is a prestigious school, they don’t need people like you and Bucchi weighing it down.”

Rouge let out a faint growl and their ears fell sideways as they watched her walk away. “Yeah, she needs to go.”

Goliath adjusted the flowers in his vase while he hummed to himself. Next to him, sitting on the floor, was Night. The Diasomnia student, snapped photo after photo of the various flowers the pair of them had managed to find on this last hike the mountain lovers club had gone through. The pair had already bid a farewell to Jade as he had left earlier to attend to stuff at the Lounge.

“Goliath?” Night’s soft voice broke through the peaceful night in the botanical garden.

“Hmm?”

“What do you think of the new headmaster?”

“I have not spoken to her yet, but from what Rascal has told me, she is not good.”

“I’ve heard bad things too. But I can’t speak ill of her.”

“Mmmh.” Goliath put the finishing touches on his arrangement and snapped a picture of it. “Then don’t. I’ve heard she’s been catching students who talk bad about her and giving them detention.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I heard it from a few in my dorm.”

“I see...”

The pair began to pack everything up and headed to the hall of mirrors, quietly chatting to one another as they did.

“You two are certainly out late. I believe the curfew was an hour again.”

Speak of the devil and she shall appear. Rosehearts sood in front of them, blocking their path back home. Night shrank back, and fearfully glanced up at Goliath.

“Our apologies, Headmistress, we were busy finishing up some projects. It shall not happen again.”

“See that it doesn’t.” She paused and stared at him. “You wouldn’t happen to be the brother of one Rascal Gallucci, would you?”

“I am.” Goliath spoke firmly.

“Atleast your parents raised one of their sons correctly.”

Goliath gripped the vase in his hands and took a deep breath. “Our parents raised us to be ourselves, Headmistress.”

“Well your brother was raised wrongly it would seem.”

Goliath handed Night the vase before he could break it. “Forgive me for speaking up, but perhaps every parent is different in how they raise their children. Some raise theirs to be perfect while others raise their children to be happy.”

Her eyes narrowed, sensing the jab at her parental skills. “What was that, Mr. Gallucci?”

“Simply using an example, clearly not one that happens to be true after all.”

Night hid his smile behind the vase, knowing that Goliath was basically insulting Rosehearts to her face but in a more polite way.

“Get back to your dorms.” Was all she said as she stormed off past them.

“Goliath, that was mean.” Night teased and handed the vase back to him.

“And yet it was the truth. I can see why Rascal does not like her, insulting families left and right without a care in the world. I simply feel bad for Riddle now, to live with such an unpleasant mother.”

Evan crossed his legs in the plush chair in the Pomefiore Lounge as he listened to the complaints of his fellow 4th year.

“And then Rosehearts, Riddle by the way, says he’s basically training me to follow the rules!” Evan ducked as J.J.’s tail lashed around. “And sevens! It made me so pissed, I could've transformed right there and bitten her head clean off!”

“Think of the mess that would’ve caused, my dear.”

“Yeah, but who would’ve missed her?”

“Riddle, the Queedom once they learned their prestigious doctor was murdered by a dragon fae.”

“Oh please, I’d probably be doing him a favor.”

“You’re saying that because you’re angry.”

J.J. growled. “And how are you so calm about this!?”

“Because I haven’t had a negative interaction with her yet.”

“Cause you haven’t run into the she-devil.”

“Oh I have, multiple times in fact. She seems to believe I'll help her whip the school into shape. How naïve of her.” Evan messed with his long white braid that hung over the side of his right shoulder. “I work for no one but myself.”

“There’s the manipulative asshole.” J.J. slumped down in the chair across from Evan and used his tail to point at him. “Can’t you and Schoenheit get rid of her? Or hell even Draconia or Kingshcolar? You guys got lawyers, they’re princes. Surely you can figure something out.”

“Regrettably, she hasn’t broken any major laws yet. She’s keeping everything above the books, not a single hair out of place.”

“So...” The fae leaned forward. “We just gotta make her do something illegal, right?”

“J.J., at the rate she’s going, I predict she’s bound to hit a lawsuit somewhere. I mean the worst she could do is shut off all communication we have with the outside world.”

“Ain’t that illegal?”

“For us? No. For the 2nd and 1st years? maybe, given they still need to be able to contact their guardians in case something goes wrong.” Evan smiled. “And my, have things gone wrong in our absence. Truly a shame, since it looks like the school won’t contact the guardians about the things happening here.”

“Damn, even out on tour, you never missed a beat, did you?”

“J.J., no one messes with my cute underclassmen and my darling without something happening to them in return.”

I made my "Yuu" or MC for Twisted Wonderland and it was pretty difficult choice between four people. I'll explain my reasoning in another post.

A bat beastman that resides in the abandoned dorm as it's perfect. Despite her circumstances, she's a playful and flirtatious girl who doesn't let the damp nature of the dorm bring her spirit down. Alexandrite is described to be a playful flirt who teases those she like. She's often seen carrying Grim around and teases the first years.

She doesn't mean any of her flirting though, she simply does it for fun and she helps Floyd with his schemes. In turn, Floyd keeps her library dates with Silvi a secret.

Silvi and Alexandrite Relationship: You mean flirty wives that have library dates and sneak around Mrs. Rosehearts' back. Silvi is also one of the only people to compete with Alexandrite's flirty comments and teases. Silvi jokingly calls her Jewel Mama with how much she likes jewels.

Lilia and Alexandrite Relationship: The two to watch the drama between Felicity, Eric and Mr. Rosehearts. The two are just watching the shitshow go down while eating popcorn with Rook.

Malleus and Alexandrite Relationship: Pure platonic fluff with these two. She and Malleus bond over the Treasure he has and he was one of the first to donate to her club and became an unofficial member as long as she agreed to become an unofficial member of the Gargoyles Research Club. The name Alexandrite comes from the jewel/gem by the same name. Mălina has numerous meaning and bat being one of them.

Silvi's the Sonic to her Rouge in terms of dynamics even before they gotten together.

A fashionista and make-up enthusiast, but she doesn't force people to change their style or Mannerisms like Vil does. She works with all sorts of styles, but her main aesthetic is between Baddie, Femme Fatale and Bubblegum Bitch/Bae.

Okay, almost everyone knows about the Headmistress Rosehearts Au and wanting to cancel her.

How about something positive?

Alice thought about talking to this woman and trying to convince how she raised Riddle wasn't right. It was a long conversation, having Mrs. Rosehearts raising her voice while Alice tried to control their anger to get their point across.

They make points on how a parent's job is raise their child and help them become their own person, not a person the parent wants. Asking why the hours long study sessions, why not letting Riddle go out and play with kids his age, why not letting him have something he really wanted.

She continuously says she's a respectful mage, she's a great doctor. They ask, "if we took that away and see you without your achievement, then what is left?"

The questions and statements slowly make her question herself that eventually she admits defeat.

Mrs. Rosehearts told her son she wish to speak with him and Riddle nervously follows her, then when the door closes she apologizes.

Riddle and his mother slowly try to rebuild their relationship, even seeing her making an effort to change for the better.

In private, he hugs Alice and thanks them for helping, then frowns at them having tea with his mother on the weekends.

content warnings for like. general violence, imprisonment, bodily violation, murder, alcohol, starvation, religion, various things involving blood and veins. all very fucked up and also INCREDIBLY corny like wattpadesque bc i write this for fun

Existing Characters

Epel: The main character so far. A young human who ran away from his hometown, was caught by a vampire coven called the House of Schoenheit, and sent to live in the basement "farm", having his blood continuously drawn and fed into the House's stores. When performing checks on the "livestock", Vil, the leader of the House, takes note of Epel's beauty and turns him, and has him inducted into the House.

Neige: A demon and former guardian angel to both Rook and Vil. After falling from the heavens, he is determined to continue doing good in the world, and opens a sanctuary for monsters called the House of the Morning Star. In order to support his House, he draws his own blood each day, bottles it, and sells it, demon blood having an intoxicating effect on vampires.

Rook: Vil's second-in-command who does most of the work initiating Epel into vampire life. After witnessing Neige fall from grace, he becomes captivated with the idea of corruption and seeks out Vil to turn him into a vampire so that he may experience something similar. Now, he makes regular anonymous purchases of Neige's blood.

Vil: Formerly a traveling opera performer who, under the guardianship of a still-angelic Neige, is cursed to be a vampire. He feels spite for Neige for not protecting him from this fate, and later on, opens the House of Schoenheit across the mountain from Neige's own House of the Morning Star. Unlike Neige's House, Vil's is a strict collective where vampires engage in parties, ceremonies, and, most commonly, fashion shows where all of them do each other's makeup before choosing their own outfits and poses, in pursuit of the glamour and validation Vil feels like he lost from his human life.

Riddle: The son of the headmistress of Rosehearts Academy, a vocational boarding school for aspiring vampire hunters.

Deuce: A student at Rosehearts Academy, and Epel's main sidekick & love interest. He sneaks into the House of Schoenheit a few weeks after Epel turns, where they meet in the halls and come to an uneasy truce & friendship. He later becomes a vampire after, first, allowing Epel to drink his blood as a show of trust, and, second, when Rook force-feeds him some of Epel's blood in an attempt to intimidate Riddle during a violent confrontation. Now lives with Epel in the House.

Jack: A werewolf, and Vil's childhood friend, who took a job as a sailor sometime around when he was also cursed to be a vampire. His crewmates staked him to a coffin and threw him overboard, where he lay beneath the waves for several centuries (so, while he's chronologically as old as Vil, he's only lived about as much as Epel and Deuce). Legends of him surfaced around when his coffin began to wash upon the sea, and Epel and Deuce find him while out on a survival mission from Vil.

Leona: A were-lion prince turned pirate who, amidst his disaffected life of crime, hears stories of Jack and hopes to prove himself by capturing him and adding him to his crew.

Ideas for Upcoming Characters

Ruggie: Leona's second-in-command who followed him into his pirate life

Malleus: A dormant (starved) vampire resurrected into a revenant-like state of blind hunger whom the Briar Valley crew and/or the existing main characters must track down and subdue

Sebek & Lilia: Former attendants of Malleus who were turned into vampires from birth (somehow. idk why they wouldn't still be babies this way esp since i haven't put regular magic in this au yet but I'll work it out)

Silver: Lilia's adopted human son who later offers to let his father use him as a regular source of blood

Azul, Jade, and Floyd: some types of religious officials who cloak themselves in a way to repel vampires. different from hunters because they don't actively work against vampires but also their more peaceful methods are way more powerful at hurting/repelling them

I just had an idea for story- Riddles mom come for like a PTA Meeting or family day and despises Crowley and worries for her precious little boy’s future if continues to be headmaster and for the plot just has Crowley arrested or removed as headmaster and replaces him.

She’s like Umbrige level of bad. She is in every class that Riddles in. Riddle is internally praying that this is just a bad dream. Trey is getting grey hairs. Confiscated Caiter’s phone. Probably installs alarms that makes a noise only cats can hear in the botanical garden so Leon can’t nap in there.

Like I’m just picturing an alchemy class where Adeuce and Grimm mess up a potion or cause an accident and it’s just … Bad.

Drags deuces mother, saying she can’t wait to meet her so she see what a laizy and horrible parent she is if her son can’t do basic spells and potions. After all Riddle master this when he was still in elementary school. Deuce is trying not to get mad, but when asks what his father would thinks and he mentions it’s just them Mama rosehearts would make a snide remark about how his mother being loose would explain her sons many short comings.

Ace might fight back- bad idea. “Do you think the real world be any different ? Who would ever hire a slob like you? I wonder where your parents went wrong if your brother was a model student.”

Then she turns to us, “I understand the previous headmasters decision to enroll you. Even with out magic you do manage to keep up better then your moronic friends. “ but she smiles at Yuu as says “control the beast or I’ll make sure that it won’t be a problem. If you can’t take care of something then you don’t deserve to have it.” Basicly says keep Grim under control or she’s sending him to shelter.

Big show down between Mama Rosehearts and Lilia. Calls him a horrible father and down right neglectful because of silvers narcolepsy. Idk came to but I’m curious what you think?

I love this concept. But also fuck this bitch.

Yuu tries to argue with her. "I don't have, Grim. He's a person and student just like everyone else!"

"That thing," the woman said glaring, "Is a mongrel. The only reason I'll allow it here is because it's admission is tied with yours and technically has not earned expulsion. Now I suggest you do as you're told and don't give me a reason to expel you both."

Despite the previous deal with Crowley, she won't make any agreement with Azul and forces him to shut down Mostro Lounge. She made a policy so Sam would stop selling certain items in his shop. She micro manages everything to the point where the Housewardens have no power over their dorms.

Pretty much everyone who is not Riddles friend takes it out on him. Everyone avoids him. He can't even rely on Trey or Cater anymore, because his mother kept them separate at all times. She even moved him out of the dorm and made him live with her in the headmages quarters.

Yuu is stuck. They're a ward of the school,and with Crowley gone, Ms. Rosehearts is technically their guardian now. If they outright fight back, she may just turn over them over to the system and Yuu can kiss any chance of going home goodbye.

However, she mostly only cares about Riddle. So late at night, everyone sneaks out of their dorms to hold secret meetings late at night at Ramshackle and discuss what to do. Everyone debates on the matter. Maybe they can get all the families like the Asims or Kingscholars to push for her removal. Maybe get Idia to dig up dirt and have her fired. Regardless of how, the Wicked Witch must go.

I had an idea for Headmaster Suzuki au and it’s unleashing his unique magic to protect his students

- (still following Vil disown his own father)

- the trauma of the school being on alarm

- this is after Suzuki was hired and getting used to being here for a few weeks

- Dival gets involved and get his ass handed

Today was the next week of Sato Suzuki job, he had stayed in campus. He was organizing his work and handling pta meetings, the man was working counseling with the students. And man, he was distraught to how mentally drained and morally empty from the terror. The man read on the news of a tyrant woman had damaged the students entire morality and immediately sent a resume to help aid as a school therapist, headmaster, and guidance counselor. He could work many shifts if he has to, but he considered all the students like his own children’s.

Being a school therapist almost took a toll on him, hearing one by one of their negative output from the hands of the horrid woman he heard about. He felt sorry for her offspring and the few who had suffered worse from the evil red queen. The man just sat at his office. Leaning back to the empty room as he covered his face, he almost wanted to scream. But kept his cool. He wanted to help the students. He decided to take a walk, as he was organizing a committee for parents week. A whole event to reconnect with their family. The man did follow certain instructions, he was too curious to ask some. Especially Mr. Schoenheit. He didn’t need an explanation, just the tone of the young boy explaining why his ‘father’ was to not attend made complete sense to not allow. So Sato agreed sir Venue was to not participate in the event, but was surprised Vil requested that Suzuki himself play as his father.

Of course, any man would’ve adored Vil like a son. But he patted the young man head, “I may not replace a father. But I believe it’s a fair choice a child choose their parents.” Since he respected Vil decision. Vil was comforted and joined the group to assist the event. Sato was a honest young man, a graduate with a honest major on student psychology. He created this event to help students gain their sense of comfort, childish yet fun mini games, handmade meals and snacks from the students, and learning of their current hobbies. All was well, in his and everyone view. The entire day turn out miraculously lovely. But somehow, he noticed a bitter and tense look on Darling face. He knew the girl father would arrive late, after all, he knows who her father is. But never brought unsavoring bias and comforted her during his time. He noticed the girl gaze facing the gates. And saw a man who resembled the previous headmaster, but felt a level of unpleasant and uneasy emotions. “Miss Crowley, please join your friends. I like to speak to your….” “Uncle.” “Yes. Thank you, now run along.” As the man went over to the gates. “Hello. Are you related to a student here?” The human male asked, as the other scolded to the face. “Yes. My distain to the family niece. Darling Crowley.” He spoke. “I am Dival Crowley. And I wish to speak to my niece-“ but he was cut off. “I’m sorry. But she’s currently not in the mood to speak with you. Please exit from the premises.” But Dival made a scornful expression. “Listen, worm, I don’t take overs from you. I take orders from the queen Maleficia!!” He shouted, as Sato felt stressed from the man, trying to keep cool. “Sir please. Understand your niece has experienced pain and emotional distress from the current months. Please, you must listen.” He pleaded, but it fell to deaf ears when Dival shouted “so what?! She can’t take it because she’s weak! Just like her pathetic human of a mother.” And something about Dival spewing hate and nonsense that would’ve been towards a student face. Snapped. As Sato eyes had a a ruthless red hue, the ground began to bend and shape into Sato will. Staring at the fae down as he tilt his head slowly, “leave….” As the ground tendrils of spikes, “and I don’t have to harm you.” The raven fae scoffed, clicking his tongue as he cowardly left. Luckily, none of the students or parents saw this. And Sato closed his eyes then open them. To be back to normal as dark and full of life. He returned to his students and their families. As he was glad to help them recover. And he made a vow

All his students will be safe and protected, and that is a promise. He is willing to keep well, and harm those who try to break his students spirit. He is not just a man. He is human with a light spirit and kind heart. And he be damned if anyone ruins his efforts.

Twisted Wonderland Fan-Fic Idea

Canon Divergent at some point determined by how the actual story in-game continues.

Not really an AU since it's still in actual Twisted Wonderland time and place, etc.? But idk maybe technically is an AU?

Original Characters and Idea (if idea already exists then I'm sorry, I wasn't aware when coming up with it for myself.... I know a female school idea is common, but this specific idea? idk if it already exists or not.)

Initial Conflict to Create Setting

Fans are theorizing that Grim will overblot from the stones he's eating and become the monster we fought in the tutorial. This fic goes with this theory.

The main campus of NRC is destroyed in the Grim Overblot incident.

The main seven dorms are safe thanks to the staff and Crowley evacuating the students to their dorms then getting the mirrors off campus using magic. (Since the dorms are obviously not actually "on campus" and are more like dimensions created through the mirrors? Meaning: no mirrors = no dorms. So they saved the mirrors and had the students at the dorms for safety. Well, all but the main cast who are there to fight OB Grim.)

The damage to NRC's campus is so extreme that it will take months to repair/rebuild regardless of the magic used. No classes can take place on campus during this time.

Crowley does not want to end the school year prematurely because it would be "harmful to the education of our esteemed school's students". So he opts. for an alternative....

Initial Conflict Resolution to Create Setting

NRC shares a school campus with another school while the repairs are being done.

This school already exists in Twisted Wonderland (in this "au"): Nightingale Academy (NGA), the all-girls equivalent to NRC

The Headmage/Headmistress is physically like a female version of Dire Crowley and the two refer to each other as siblings, though their real relationship is unknown. Her name is Kruselle Crowley

The campus of NGA is almost an exact replica of NRC's, the only big difference being "Ramshackle Dorm" which is in by far better condition than it was at NRC since it's ghost inhabitants are pickier about their surroundings and wanted the place to be well maintained. (Old fashioned high society women who care about appearances, even in death.)

The main seven dorms share the same name and insignias as with NRC. They also look exactly the same as the NRC dorms and are accessed through mirrors in the mirror chamber.

NGA's Ramshackle Dorm's lounge is basically turned into a second mirror chamber, this one for the mirrors leading to the dorms of the NRC students.

The female students of NGA and the male students of NRC share the campus of NGA, the teachers of both schools working together to balance the now larger classes.

P.S. Yuu from the manga is the MC and stays in the NGA Ramshackle Dorm now.

Nightingale Academy Teachers

PE teacher is based off of Zira, Scar's wife in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. She is a "distant" relative of Leona and he refers to her as his "sort of aunt". Her name is Nora Leorawr. She has 3 children who are all grown with 2 having their own children around Cheka's age. "Coach Leorawr"

Potionology teacher is based off of Yzma from The Emporer's New Groove. Name is Ayara Michichhiri and she has a male spynx cat familiar named "Amzah" that is almost always on her shoulders. She reluctantly allows the students to call her "Professor Michi" if they have trouble pronouncing her full surname.

History of Magic teacher is based off of Mother Gothel (younger-but-aging/needing to use Rapunzel's powers soon look) from Tangled. Name is Ethel Cessler and she insists the students call her "Ms. Cessler". Will get very angry and assign extra lessons to anyone who uses "Mrs." or "Professor" or anything similar with her name which would imply her being an older woman (even though she really is).

My OCs and Pairings

Riddle Rosehearts: Aeliana (Ellie) Heartquinn

Sophmore Housewarden of NGA's Heartslabyul. Her father is a healing mage who sees Riddle's mother as a rival. He is not as strict as Mrs. Rosehearts though, and Mrs. Rosehearts doesn't even consider him or his family as competition to her excellence (and even tries to ridicule Riddle for "thinking Aeliana is good enough for him" with her being from a family that "can't even reach her level".)

Has shoulder length light blonde hair that is slightly wavy with subtle streaks of strawberry blonde. It is cut into an inverted bob with the back being cut to her hairline. She wears a red headband, and keeps her bangs sideswept but at a length that they just barely reach her eyes. She has very light blue eyes and fair skin with a few faint freckles on her upper cheeks and nose. Floyd's nickname for her is "Blowfishie" cuz when she's mad or agitated she gets all "prickly" and puffs her cheeks out, so she reminds him of a pufferfish.

Her signature magic is called "Sticks and Stones". The more people ridicule and talk down on her, the more her negative energy builds and when she uses her signature spell the built up negative energy is converted into an incorporeal crown atop her head that lasts for up to an hour. The more blot that is converted, the brighter and more extravagant the crown. While the crown is present, Ellie's magical prowess is enhanced with the more the blot making the effect larger. It can only be used when she is not currently feeling negative emotions though, otherwise instead of converting the accumulated blot into clean power, the accumulated blot will multiply and can potentially cause an overblot.

I was inspired by the song "Sticks and Stones" by Icon For Hire with my creation of her signature spell. "Hurl your sticks and cast your stones, I sit higher with each blow. I know something you don't know: these sticks and stones just forge my throne." But someone won't be able to feel this way while in an episode of negative emotions and thoughts, and will typically feel worse if they try to force this mindset on themselves at those times.

Azul Ashengrotto: Aerolythe (Aerie) Krystalle

Freshman student of NGA's Octavinelle. Half merfolk and grew up on land. Mom is human, dad an axolotl merman. Her natural form is that of a human, but she can take her mer form at will when in water. She loves to go diving and visit the different merfolk towns and cities with her dad, but also loves to be on land since it is her "normal".

She has long onyx black hair with hints of different colors in it (super dark "oil slick hair" which you should totally look up if you don't know what it looks like.) Her eyes are a deep amethyst purple. She has a peachy "sun-kissed" skin tone. In her mer form she retains her four limbs but her fingers and toes become webbed and she grows a tail. Her ears become her axolotl gills (aka "head ferns"). Her skin on her lower torso, legs, tail, back, arms, gills and part of her neck and face turn a very dark purplish-black with white specks throughout, and the rest of her skin becomes very pale. Her gills blend in with her hair pretty well.

Her signature magic is "Prismatic Watercolors". It is a healing magic that when cast, the gem in her pen will shine out prismatic colors that "paint" the wound in what looks like watercolor paint. When the healing is complete, the light and "paint" disappear, leaving the healed wound. The more severe the wound, the more blot is generated from the healing magic. If she loses a limb of her own, she can cast it on herself and the "paint" will apply to the air in the shape of the missing limb and the limb will begin to regenerate underneath of it. She cannot cast any other magic during this time or for several days afterwards or else she will immediately overblot. Larger limbs take more time to regenerate and she can only regenerate her own, no one else's. She also cannot regenerate any of her vital organs since she needs them functioning to stay alive and actually cast her magic.

I based her magic off of the fact axolotls can regenerate their limbs and internal organs. Aerie is half human though, so she can only regenerate her limbs. She is also able to heal others though with her magic since her desire is to be a healer so that she can help others without regenerative magic of their own. She actually regenerates on her own without magic, but it would take much longer and have many awkward complications, so she uses her magic to speed things along. She heals from normal wounds much faster than most though, even without using healing magic, with being part axolotl merfolk. The prismatic watercolors name and paint over wounds is because she loves to draw and paint. Her favorite is with watercolors, and she loves using prismatic watercolor effects in her art. She developed her signature magic with the thought "I'll paint over the wounds to change them, and with a final splash the color will wash away and leave the original blank canvas! AKA, the skin before the wound, hehe!"

Welcome to the result of my brother watching a movie and pushing my mind into brainrot mode. I hope you like this incoherent mess of an AU that's (somewhat) loosely based on the school of rock musical/movie! It's quite long, so I'll place it under the cut!

Plot

Lilia Vanrouge poses as a substitute manager for a musical group working for Vil Schöenheit, who has been encouraging their growth as various pop idols, something that their parents had signed them up for (much to the chagrin of some of the students.) Lilia poses as MC after having lost his place in his former band and needing to find work to pay the rent that his roommates (read: just Grim) keeps badgering him for. To do this, Lilia uses a fun little trick he learned a while back called identity theft and poses as MC to work for Vil, teaching a class for him.

And then, he met the students.

Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade were a troublesome duo. With their original lessons, they were shoved to the back as some of the clumsier dancers in the group, more drawn to playing the music than actually dancing to it. They were joined by their peers Riddle and Cater more often than not, with the former chastising them for their nonchalant approach to their lesson and the latter often bringing out his phone to record whatever shenanigans they may have been partaking in.

The next two students are Ruggie and Jack. Ruggie is a somewhat troublesome student, being quick and nimble on his feet but having a habit of swindling fellow students out of their food and spare change. While he doesn't exactly steal anything, per se, he can tend to play them like the cheap kazoos that they are. In lessons, he can tend to be quite dexterous, although he never really seems too interested in being shoved to the background as he usually is. On the other side of the coin there's Jack, who can be front-and-center at times with his strength being needed for some maneuvers if it isn't easy to fit the twins into the current routine. Something notable, however, is his reluctance to sing.

The next duo of not are the twins. These two troublemakers are together more often than not, often finding fun in terrorising and intimidating fellow students and doing as they wish during free time. These two tend to be the go-to when it comes to main dancers, however they can also be problematic to work with whenever Floyd is in one of his moods. They're not too interested in the whole concept of the lessons they've been learning, the whole mood and feel of the 'pop idol sensation' stuff being quite far out of their comfort zones, however, there's plenty of little fishes for them to poke at and bother around here, so maybe something more interesting may come along and make this place even more fun… They can afford to stick around for a while.

The next student is the sunshine child of the class! Kalim Al-Asim, the star dancer of the group and one of the most enthusiastic members of the class! He tends to be happy to do anything, be it singing or dancing, hailing from a rather prestigious family who pays a pretty penny to have their star child at the front of the stage as much as possible. He tends to be brought in by Jamil, who had been hired as a nanny to keep an eye on the troublesome ball of sunshine. The class is a way for him to keep Kalim occupied while he gets through some of the mountains of work that he's tasked with, courtesy of the Asim family. Kalim seems happy enough with the arrangement though, so there aren't any complaints from him!

Next up is Epel and Rook, the star students of Vil Schöenheit himself! Epel is his newest project, being under his scrutiny quite often when it comes to routines and his singing voice, and especially his attitude even outside of classes. It's safe to say that he's somewhat sick of the constant corrections he's given with his attitude and his posture and his voice and his everything! He just wants a break from all the nitpicking he's subject to… And he might just stick it to the man if he's given the chance. Rook on the other hand, is happy to put his all into every aspect of his lessons. He's one of Vil's biggest fans, putting his all into stunning and impressing his idol to hopefully become even the littlest bit as great as he is… Although he isn't opposed to the idea of trying out a new genre of music if he could. After all, there's beauty in every genre! Perhaps he could even design clothing that's different from his usual comfort zone…

Another pair of brothers is up next with Idia and Ortho Shroud. With Ortho on the mix, Kalim isn't the only ball of sunshine shining on stage! While the younger kid can tend to be somewhat robotic in his behavior, he's a joy to be around and throws his all into every activity and routine, securing his place as one of the lead dancers in the class. However, his bother is quite very different in that regard. Unlike his little brother, Idia tends to keep his distance from everyone else in the group, often sticking at the back to avoid the more crowded spots with more attention. He's just there to keep his little brother happy, but perhaps he could find his calling behind the scenes..? He does appear to be quite knowledgeable in the realm of technology.

The final pair of students, with Silver and Sebek. These two tend to be at odds, although most of the conflict is one-sided with Sebek's loud chastising and Silver's sleepy indifference. Silver is one of the best singers in the group alongside Cater, with his spot being as one of the main singers. Unfortunately, however, he seems to tend to fall asleep at times, even possibly during routines and classes. This, of course, is the source of the chastising from Sebek. Speaking of him, Sebek can tend to be somewhat of a teacher's pet, following all instructions like a robot, except more shouty. Even if his singing voice is… Less than ideal… He can keep everyone in line if he's given the task to do so.

Upon meeting these students, Lilia's curiosity grew… Perhaps a break from pop was what they needed… How about he stepped up and introduced these young minds to the world of rock!
