Regulus Black did not believe in love at first sight.
It was a foolish notion. One that contradicted his pragmatic beliefs. At his core, Regulus was a realist. In his world, love was not a luxury one could afford. Regulus was raised with the expectation to marry according to class, wealth, and most importantly, blood status. The noble and most ancient house of Black only took the purest of the pure.
After all, toujours pur, always pure, has been his family’s motto for centuries. There has never been any doubt in his mind that he’d marry another member of the sacred twenty eight. It wasn’t a matter of if, only a question of when.
During his sixth year, his mother made her intentions very clear. Walburga Black was adamant that he begin his search for a suitable bride. Leave it to his mother to compose a list of ladies she deemed suitable to become the future Mrs. Black. Regulus was to adhere to the carefully curated roster. They were names that he’d seen a million times before. Greengrass, Prewett, Rosier. Girls he’d grown up with and inadvertently had absolutely no interest in.
Still, his mother was insistent so Regulus complied. He took the girls out on dates. The formula was rather simple: dinner at the fanciest restaurant in town followed by a walk around the city square in which he offered to buy his date a dessert like the proper gentleman his mother raised him to be. Despite the fact that Regulus had the entire process down to a science, the dates were always unsatisfactory.
He was polite, of course. Opened the door, pulled out their chair, asked the appropriate level of questions to get to know his counterpart, but by the time the appetizers arrived, Regulus was on the verge of stabbing himself with the butter knife just to rouse himself from boredom.
Regulus placed no blame on the girls. They were only doing what their families had raised them to do. Sit pretty, chew gracefully, agree with his opinions. All while wearing breakneck heels and a smile to boot. It was all terribly fucked up, but this was the world they lived in.
The more he went on these dates, the more he realized that he didn’t want some pretty, docile wife. What he truly needed was someone who was willing to challenge him, to call him out on his bullshit, to argue with him when his own stubbornness prevented him from seeing reason. Regulus came to the horrible, earth-shattering realization that he probably wouldn’t find a woman like that on his mother’s list.
As he walked back from another mind numbing date, Regulus grappled with this newfound dilemma. He didn’t want to endure another one of these disastrous dates. He didn’t want to sit through an entire meal making small talk. He definitely didn’t want to disappoint another girl by not kissing them at the end of the night.
It wasn’t like any of them liked him anyways. Though they loved the idea of Regulus Black, he was quite certain that they wouldn’t afford the same affections to Reggie—the real and true version of himself. The one that Sirius often said Regulus kept in a neatly locked cage.
He wished he could be more like his brother. Sirius had always been the brave one. It was that infamous Gryffindor boldness that prompted his older brother to rebel against his family’s expectations. Instead of heeding to their mother’s ridiculous list, Sirius chose to date Remus in open defiance to Walburga’s orders. It resulted in him getting kicked out of 12 Grimmauld Place and burned off the family portrait, but Sirius didn’t seem to mind one bit.
In a lot of ways, Regulus envied his brother. Sirius had the guts to stand up for himself. He wasn’t burdened by the crippling pressure of pleasing their mother. In all honesty, Reggie wondered if such a thing was even achievable. As he brooded, Regulus found himself on the shores of the Black Lake. His body had taken him here on autopilot. It was his only place of refuge in the castle.
Regulus paced the rickety wooden dock. His mind was working so fast, so many thoughts spinning in his head, that it felt like he might work himself up to a fit. This has always been his problem. Sirius often said that he lived in his head too much. He frowned, trying and failing to get ahold of himself. For once, he wished he could just shut his brain off entirely.
Just then, Regulus felt a drop of water hit his head. He looked up and found dark, gray clouds hovering over the horizon. The stormcloud broke open and unleashed torrential rain all around him. Fucking fantastic. The world truly couldn’t give him a bloody break, could it?
With a sigh, Regulus began making his way back. The ground was sodden underneath his feet, his boots sinking into the sand and dragging behind his black coat. The waves lapped violently across the shore as the wind lashed against the murky waters. Regulus was almost at the edge of the beach when he spotted you.
A flash of movement from the corner of his eye. Regulus stopped dead in his tracks. There, at the mouth of the Black Lake, in the middle of the pouring rain, stood a girl with the most breathtaking smile he had ever seen.
Regulus was fairly certain that you had History of Magic together. He sat behind you in class, passed by you in the halls, even reached for the same book in the forbidden section of the library once, but Reggie had never once seen that smile. The gravity of it threatened to knock the very breath from his lungs.
There was something carefree about you. The way you spread your arms, tilted your head back, and laughed in the midst of the rain and thunder. Almost like you were welcoming the storm.
It was only when your eyes locked that Regulus realized he was staring. You cocked your head at him, trailing your gaze from the curls plastered against his cheek to the nice button down and freshly pressed trousers that were now soaked from the rain, down to the shiny leather boots that were now digging into the sand. You seemed amused at the sight of him.
Ever the perfect gentleman, Regulus snapped out of his daze and jogged over to you. Without hesitation, he raised his coat over your head to shield you from the rain even though you were already both drenched.
“What are you doing out in the rain?” Regulus asked, his voice full of genuine concern. “You’ll catch a cold.”
You stepped out of the refuge of his expensive looking coat and held your hand out, catching droplets in your palm. “I don’t mind. I just…I just needed to feel the rain on my skin, that’s all.”
You supposed it must’ve seemed strange to him, but the rain always made you feel better. Lately, life had been just a little too overwhelming. There was so much pressure to do well in classes, to hang out with friends while balancing your clubs and sports, as well as making time to write back to your parents. When it all became a bit too much, you tended to come to the Black Lake for some sort of refuge. The rain was just an added bonus.
If Regulus found your behavior bizarre, he didn’t say. Instead, he just smiled softly. “Well, you got your wish. It’s soaked out here.”
“I know,” you responded with an enthusiastic nod. “It’s nice, isn’t it?”
“Standing out in the pouring rain? On a beach where lightning can strike me down at any second? Yes, it’s absolutely splendid.”
Your mouth quirked in amusement. “No one’s telling you to stay out here.” You nodded towards the castle. “You’re more than welcome to take your brooding inside where it’s warm and dry. Not to mention, free of the dangers of lightning strikes, which are extremely rare by the way.”
“With my luck, I might be the poor one in a million git who gets torched while getting insulted by a pretty girl.”
“Did I insult you?’ you quipped back. “I hadn’t noticed.”
“You accused me of brooding.”
“I didn’t accuse, I stated. Even the Wizengamot would have to rule that you were, in fact, brooding.”
Regulus raised a brow. “What happened to innocent before proven guilty?”
“Unfortunately, the evidence is overwhelming and the verdict is set. You, Regulus Black, have been sentenced for glaring at the Black Lake so menacingly that even the giant squid refuses to come to shore. Off to Azkaban you go.”
“Do you promise to write me letters? Update me of how the world’s progressed without my dazzling presence?”
“It would be my genuine pleasure.”
Regulus chuckled at your dry humor. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d bantered like this with anyone, much less with a strange not-so-stranger. You sat down on the wet sand and patted the spot beside you with a grin.
“Why don’t you take a seat and tell me all about your troubles.”
Beyond the bleak horizon, the spires of the castle peeked through the gray clouds. Regulus thought of the common room where his housemates would no doubt be gathered around the ornate fireplace for warmth. Knowing his friends, they’d probably be indulging in spiked hot chocolate and playing some childish drinking game. A few minutes ago, nothing appealed to him more, but now Regulus found himself choosing the violent rain and soggy sand. All because of you, his mystery girl.
You leaned back on your elbows and cocked your head at him. “What ails you, Mr. Black?”
“That depends. How much do you bill per hour?”
“Fortunately for you, I’m in a generous mood so I’ll throw in a free session. Consider it my pro-bono work.”
“How kind of you,” Regulus said with a serious expression. “My brother’s been nagging me to see a mind healer for years. All that childhood trauma, you know.”
A small smile tugged at your lips, revealing a set of dimples that he found rather charming. “I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not.”
“My brother is Sirius. I’m Regulus, remember?”
You snorted in a very unladylike manner, which only made Regulus grin. There was something so unapologetically you in your laugh that was absolutely endearing to him. Regulus smiled and knocked his shoulder against yours.
You mimicked the action and smiled back at him. “All sarcasm aside, I was being genuine. If you want to talk about it, I’m here to listen.”
"Do you often offer therapy sessions to complete strangers?"
"Only to surly Slytherins with sad eyes and pretty curls," you quipped back. "And we're not strangers. I sit behind you in potions. We're practically best mates."
"You think my curls are pretty?"
"Like a little cherub's. Are you quite sure you haven't escaped from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? You look like one of Michelangelo's angels. Except with way more scowling." Regulus grinned. He got the feeling that you always said whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. It was refreshing. "There's a smile. See? Our session is already progressing."
"I think you might get more than you bargained for with me, I'm afraid."
You met the challenge in his words head on. "Try me."
“You were right. I’m definitely guilty of brooding.”
“What happened?”
Regulus hesitated for a moment. He had never been the type of person to be candid with his feelings, especially not with someone he barely knew. Usually, he just kept his thoughts to himself and ruminated on them in the privacy of his dorm until he drove himself mad by overthinking, but your presence brought him an unexplainable ease. For once in his life, Regulus chose not to question it.
“I’ve had a long night,” he said, tucking his knees up to his chest. “I just got back from a date.”
“It didn’t go well?”
“It was…fine. It’s always fine. But it’s the same thing over and over again, just with a different girl.”
“I wouldn’t have taken you for a playboy, Regulus Black.”
Regulus chuckled. “I’m not some unscrupulous rake, I assure you.”
“Yes, that much is obvious from your use of the word unscrupulous.” You tucked your legs underneath you. “So why go on all of these dates if you find them so tedious?”
“It’s my mother,” Regulus explained. “She has this list.”
“A list?”
“Yes, a list of girls that I’m to court. Noble, pureblooded, proper ladies of society that my mother has deemed worthy of marriage.”
“You’re seventeen years old. Shouldn’t you be worrying about quidditch games and potions exams?”
Regulus nodded. “Yes, one would think. But my family has always been different. Since my brother left, my parents have been obsessed with grooming me into becoming the perfect heir.”
“How do you feel about that?”
He sighed. “Stifled. Exhausted. Smothered. I can feel the weight of their expectations weighing me down every second of every day.”
“I’m sorry, Regulus. That’s a terrible burden to carry.”
Regulus shrugged. “Others have it worse.”
“It doesn’t mean that your problem is any less heavy.”
To Regulus, the acknowledgement felt oddly validating. Even though you knew nothing of his circumstance, there was wisdom in your words and you delivered it delicately, like you actually cared to hear his troubles. You were devoid of the judgment he'd grown accustomed to and he found that rather freeing.
“It’s just…sometimes I think that I’ll never be the perfect son. My brother, he’s always been the brave one. Classic Gryffindor,” he said with an eye roll. You chuckled, but stayed silent. It was obvious that Regulus had a myriad of thoughts to unpack tonight and you were more than happy to just listen. “Sirius has never cared what anyone thought about him, least of all our parents. I admire that about him, but I just don’t think I’m wired that way. I care too much.”
“That’s not necessarily a bad thing,” you said softly. “Apathy is so common nowadays, finding someone who can admit that they care is refreshing. Though, I think it’s not without limits. You can’t please everyone. No matter what you do, someone is going to have something to complain about. You might as well be yourself.”
“That’s exactly the problem,” Regulus pondered. “All of these girls on my mother's list, I think they like the idea of Regulus Black, but he’s an illusion. It isn’t the real me.”
“Then who is the real you?”
“I don’t know,” he said honestly. “I’m just Reggie. I like playing quidditch and reading depressing literature and memorizing obscure history facts. I hate messy rooms and orange juice and anything that crawls.”
You smiled. “And what kind of girl does Reggie like?”
“Someone witty. Someone funny. Someone who’ll argue with me. Someone who doesn’t just nod and agree with everything I say."
"So what you're saying is that you don't want a nice girl?"
Regulus shook his head. "No, I think I need someone who challenges me. Who sees me for who I am rather than what I represent. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the girls on my mother’s list are lovely, but I don’t think they’d actually like me if they knew who I really am.”
“I don’t know, Reggie seems like a great guy. That Regulus bloke, on the other hand…” you scrunched your nose in disapproval.
“Hey!” Regulus chided, “I’m pouring my heart out to you. That took a lot of courage, you know.”
“You’re very brave, Reggie,” you said with a grin. “But you know what would be even braver?”
Regulus squinted in the rain as you stood to your feet. Lightning crackled over the horizon, illuminating you with an ethereal silver glow. You held out your hand to him. “Come dance with me.”
“Deathly afraid of being struck by lightning, remember?”
“Sorry, what?” You asked as you shimmied around him. It wasn’t graceful by any means. It was the goofiest thing he’d ever seen and yet he’d never been so enthralled. You danced without a care in the world and it made him genuinely laugh. “I can’t hear you over all the fun I’m having.”
"This is ridiculous," he said over the roaring thunder.
You shrugged. "Perhaps. But everyone's allowed to be a little ridiculous sometimes. Besides, I was asking Reggie not Regulus."
“Are you really trying to peer pressure me into dancing with you?”
“That depends,” you replied with a cheeky smile. “Is it working?”
Regulus conceded with a sigh and leapt to his feet. The youngest Black brother bowed like a proper gentleman. “May I have this dance, my lady?"
“You may, good sir.”
You grinned up at him as he took you by the waist and waltzed with you across the sand. Surprisingly, Regulus let you take the lead. He chuckled when you stepped on his toes and laughed even harder when you tried to twirl him. Towering a good foot over you, Regulus had to fully crouch for the maneuver to work.
Finally, you gave up the formality and just spun around in dizzying circles. There was absolutely no rhyme or rhythm to it. Just two idiots dancing in the rain with the biggest smiles on their faces.
Your coordination, or lack thereof, caused you to almost faceplant into the sand. Regulus yelped as you took him down with you. By the time you recovered from the laughing fit, the two of you were red-faced, out of breath, and laying side by side along the shore. He turned over to you and brushed a stray strand of hair behind your ear.
“That was the most fun I’ve had in years.”
“See? There’s more to life than just being moody and melancholic.”
“So this mystery girl of mine keeps reminding me,” Regulus said with a smile. “You never told me your name, by the way.”
“Wow, you don’t even know my name? I’m offended, Reggie. We’ve only been in classes together since fifth year.”
“I—we’ve never been introduced—”
You broke out into a smile and giggled. You thought it was cute that Reggie was so easily flustered. “I’m just kidding, Reggie.”
He sighed in relief as you stuck out your hand. “Y/N. My name is Y/N.”
Regulus slipped his hand into yours. He cocked his head, studying your eyes and your smile and those cute little dimples.
Y/N. The last name on his mother’s list. The one he saved for last because he didn’t know who she was.
The French had a saying—le coup de foudre. The infamous phrase translated to a bolt of lightning or love at first sight. Regulus had long dismissed it as flowery prose, but thanks to his mystery girl, he started to think that maybe the Parisians were onto something because meeting you tonight felt preordained. A date with fate. Like a bolt of lightning streaking through his dark, endless skies.
“It’s nice to meet you, Y/N.”
You grinned. “It’s nice to meet you, Reggie.”
Regulus smiled and laced your fingers together. He was frozen, it was raining, and he was fairly certain that you were both probably going to catch a cold, but he didn’t care. In that moment, as he stared up at the sky, blinking back the rain, and intertwining his fingers with yours, Regulus had never felt more content.
So no, Regulus did not believe in love at first sight, but love at second, third, and even fourth glance? He smiled a little as he gazed back at you, letting his gaze linger as he drank in that infectious laugh and sunny grin.
You made him think that maybe, just maybe, a girl like you could convert a skeptic like him into a devout believer.

Building a Hornet’s Nest
Male Wasp Hybrid Harem x Feminized Male Reader (CW: Noncon, musk, pheromones, bukkake, gangbang, double penetration, wasp men, oviposition, feminized male reader, drug-like cum, wasp transformation, DNA manipulation, general yandere behavior) Word Count: 3.7k (Sorry that this took so long. Sorry that this is so weird. I hope some people can find the degeneracy within themselves to enjoy it.)
When your distant uncle had passed away and left you a property you were surprised to say the least. You were more surprised to learn that it was on Arcadia and that your uncle had never lived long enough to go and see it as he had been ill for some time before his passing and he was not particularly old either. Years ago, unknown to most of the family, he had procured a modest plot of land on Arcadia, a distant planet on the fringes of known space. A true modern day frontier. It was known for its mega-flora. With flowers that grew to the size of trees in some cases. It was also known for its giant docile bees. They were just like bees on Earth except much much larger and they were stingless, it was very easy to domesticate them and now people used them on Arcadia to develop many rare and exotic honey types from the strange alien flowers. Your uncle had wanted to be a beekeeper, he was apparently going to invite you on the venture with him seeing as how you were both into farming and working the land and you had helped him with his beekeeping when you were younger, but he never recovered from his illness so you did not find out until his death. With only a bit of hesitance you decided to pursue your uncle’s dream. When you first got to Arcadia you were in awe by how tranquil and picturesque it was, the pictures and videos that you had seen certainly did it no justice. Unlike Earth most of the foliage was various shades of red, orange, and yellow. Giant blooms of every shape and color imaginable were everywhere, with the exception of the clearing that a small settlement had been built in. Despite being here for a few decades it was still very much a quaint little frontier town, pleasant enough people, offering just the bare essential services. Then there was your new plot of land a few miles from town. It was… run down… to say the least. But you made due, you had sold everything of significant value that you had owned back on Earth and were fully committing to this new venture. And, after a few months, your efforts finally paid off. A giant mansion sized barn for your future bees was built and your house was repaired. All that was left to do was wait for your shipment of buzzy friends to arrive. Well they wouldn’t be so busy when they arrived, as they would still be pupa, but within a week or two the pupa would be finished developing into full sized giant docile bees, they would accept the barn as their home and set up shop. The day came when your shipment finally landed and you were so thrilled, they came off the hover truck and you hurried them into their new home, carefully placing them horizontally into cells in the walls and capping them. In truth you had been more than a bit worried, you were running perilously low on funds and had to go with a discount bee supplier that seemed just a slight bit unreliable. But it seemed you had worried for nothing, here were your bee pupa, nice and healthy. Though they did seem to be a slightly different shape than they looked from the advertisements and videos, you were sure that nothing was wrong. You could barely contain your excitement, you had heard that these bees easily imprint on their humans and are very loving, soon they would establish a hive and your goals would be obtained. It would be slow at first, as you only had enough to get three pupa, but you would get there eventually. You couldn’t stop yourself from checking the barn every few hours. 9 or 10 times each and every single day. The wait was torture. But finally, after about 12 days, you heard buzzing coming from the barn when you stepped out of your house in the morning, you practically tripped over yourself running back inside to grab the collars for them and then dashed back outside and across the field of flowers you had started to grow for them. You opened the door to the barn and… it was NOT what you were expecting. The three pupa were no longer in the cells you had packed them so lovingly into, but they sure as hell were not bees either. Instead, standing before you were three wasp-men. You knew what these were, genetically engineered human-wasp hybrids, that typically had smaller genetic contributions from several ant and bee species as well, that were typically used in highly regulated projects or otherwise extremely shady sources of labor on the very unregulated frontier planets. The question was how did you get them? Did someone’s order get mixed with yours? With how much energy and enthusiasm you opened the door with, they were all now intently staring at you, and to say that they were intimidating would have been an understatement. They all looked fairly similar to one another, red and yellow plates of chitinous exoskeletons covered their feet, arms, legs, chests, and backs. The only thing lacking the exoskeletons were their faces, abs, asses, and crotches. Which were very much exposed, showing off scarily long cocks and heavy balls. They had red bug-like eyes, they had fangs but otherwise regular mouths, but they sat between a set of wicked looking mandibles. Antenna twitched on their heads, sticking out from long blood red hair. Each had a set of large wings folded behind them. Their antennas twitched in your direction as they also sniffed the air curiously. Uh-oh. They were from a shady source so who knows how unpredictably they could act towards you, so you wisely decided to make a hasty retreat, but they quickly flew over to you and pulled you back deeper into the building. “Where’s the rush?” one of them inquired in a slightly buzzing but deep voice, “Me and my friends just woke up here and need some answers.” “Uh-uh okay, sure, what do you want to know?” The one speaking put his arm roughly around your waist and pulled you closer to him. “Well, we are looking for the person meant to be our queen, do you know where they are? Your scent is the only one here. Did you put us in the wall compartments?” “There isn’t any queen, but y-yeah I was the one who bought your pupa and put them in there.” He took a moment to feel you over with his antenna, it probably would have tickled had you not been scared shitless. “Sooo… you’re the queen? Or are you under someone??” “There isn't one! And I own this land and made this building for bees…” One of the other two wasp men chimed in at this. “Ha! Bees? Those weak passive ones that have no human in em and are about as smart as a pet dog? You’re lucky you got us instead, we are far superior!” The one holding you now much too tightly replied while flexing his free arm,”He’s right, we are much better. You really lucked out little queen~ We can keep you much safer.” He licked up your neck with a long narrow tongue making you shiver. “I told you, there isn’t a queen!” You were beginning to grow annoyed with the cyclic nature of this conversation. “You bought us? You own this territory? You put us in cells so we could grow?” “W-well yeah but… I’m n-not-” “You’re our queen then~ Don’t be scared we’ll keep you all safe from the big scary world! You’re far too weak and squishy to just be left alone.” “Ha! Yeah, just a pathetic squishy little human,” the third one that had been silent up until now chuckled as he poked you hard in the stomach. The one holding you grinded gently into your ass, his cock fully erect and prodding your cheeks. “This ass is soft too~ Bet it feels great inside, doesn’t it little queen?” “S-stop, please, I’m not a w-woman!” “Awe, our queen is a bit dumb too~ Good thing we came along to take care of you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you’re our queen yet, we’ll rape you full of our eggs. You’ll look so lovely full of our spawn~” As he said all of this he began to gently rub his hand against your crotch and the other two hybrid men stepped closer. Between the unwanted touching and the mention of the word rape you decided it may be worth the risk to try and escape anyway, but your struggles didn’t last long. The man holding you shook you a bit violently until you were unsteady and still and then held the top of his wrist to your neck. A long thick black needle protruded from his wrist and was pointed at you threateningly. You turned away, trying to put as much space between your neck and the sinister looking needle as possible. “Maybe you aren’t too dumb, you know what this does don’t you my queen? It’ll hurt terribly before paralyzing you and allowing us to play with you at our leisure and make you fulfill your royal duty~” You let out a pathetic whimper in response. “Oh, don’t worry, I don’t want to use it. How can you squirm around my dick if I did? So just relax and let this happen the easier, more fun way, okay?” He nibbled on your earlobe and you went completely limp in his grasp, signaling that you wouldn’t put up anymore of a fight. “Heh heh, excellent choice, my queen~” The other two wasps chuckled cruelly as well as one pulled your shirt off and the other wasted no time in unburdening you of your pants and boxers. They stared at you hungrily. Your nudity only fueled your fear and you had to stifle your instinct to flail, thrash, punch, and run. But doing so would surely make things much worse for you, better to just let them have their way and get it over with and hope you could sneak out after maybe when they were sleeping or otherwise distracted. You could feel the cock of the hybrid behind you gently rubbing against your hole as he licked and bit at your neck. He bent down behind you and spread your cheeks, making you shudder as an inhumanly long tongue prodded your hole before sliding in deep, stretching you out gently as it probed and making you twitch and grow hard as it found and focused on your prostate. The genetics for their tongues definitely came from long tongued bees. The wasp man behind you got up and resumed pressing his cock into your hole. “Just getting you good and ready queen~” He whispered softly into your ear. His large cock mercifully massaged copious amounts of thick precum into you to prep you for breeding. At least the entry wouldn’t be unstretched or dry, because that’s not something you would have put past them. The other two wasps were busy rubbing their hands all over your body, rubbing your belly, groping your ass cheeks, stroking your face with surprising tenderness, and contrasting that with rough greedy groping of your soft thighs and tugging at your hair. As the one behind you slipped inside your well lubed ass a second wasp enveloped your hard cock entirely within its mouth while the third kissed you passionately, its tongue fervently exploring every inch of your mouth. You couldn’t even yell in pleasure or protest the pain of having your ass invaded by a large inhuman cock as the long thin went down your throat, making you gag a bit. Finally respecting your need to breathe, the wasp removed itself from your face and began biting your sensitive neck, adding to the complete overly stimulating waves of sensation already being caused by having your dick enveloped by a hot mouth and your prostate gently kissed by the rhythmic thrusts of the other two insectoid men. The one attending your cock took his free hand to massage your balls and that led you to possibly the quickest orgasm of your life. In any other situation you would have been totally humiliated, but you were long past having any dignity today. The one behind you did not relent in his fucking of you, but instead picked up the pace a bit as he felt your body shudder, the one sucking you off hungrily swallowed your load before licking his lips and getting up. “My, you were really pent up my queen, and you produce such sweet honey for me!” He pressed his lips to yours, letting the taste of your own cum permeate your mouth. Between the kiss and the constant pounding of your ass you whimpered as you were already hard again, the wasp that had previously had its tongue down your throat now replacing the one that swallowed your cum at your cock, kissing the sensitive organ before licking it and sucking your recently emptied nuts. You whimpered as they continued to manhandle your sensitive body. The one pumping into your tight hole finally slamming in hard and cumming forcefully, depositing something round and hard into you as he did, making you flinch a bit in surprise as you remembered that they reproduced via eggs, it did not really hurt, but you felt a tingling inside where the waspoid cum touched you. The cock inside you lingered a while as it filled you but once it slid out and away from you your ass’ rest was short lived. One of the wasps laid with his back on the ground and with his cock pointing up, the other two bringing you over to him and forcing you to lower yourself onto his eager, drooling, prick. Your well stretched hole slid on him easily and he gripped you tight and forced you up and down on his length. That special spot inside you was rubbed once more, making you shudder in unwilling pleasure, your body completely betraying you. The pace was slow enough for you, and surprisingly he seemed unwilling to seriously injure his “queen”. As you were finally getting used to the motions one of the other wasps, the one that had already filled your ass, came up behind and slid his cock back inside you with his friend’s so that you were now being plowed in tandem by the both of them. As you gasped from the sudden extra intrusion abusing your insides the third wasp took advantage of your open mouth and wasted no time in putting his dick in your open mouth. You could taste his precum, oddly enough it had just a slight soothing effect and you noticed it tasted of honey. Filled to the brim with cock, you started to get a bit more relaxed as time went on, not overly so. You were still very unwilling and any pleasure was purely physical, incidental, and frustrating, but whatever was in the honey like fluid dripping from his cock was definitely making you a bit less stiff and just a tad bit less defiant. While this was happening you thought you could remember hearing something about this, that modified wasp and bee species made substances that could calm down their queens when distressed, both in fluids and via pheromones. And now that you thought about it the musk that hung heavily in the air was strangely comforting, it was like the more of the precum that dripped down your throat the more you were affected by the smell that these men were giving off. Not nearly enough to really lose yourself though, it was far more subtle than that. It was also probably why you did not feel too much pain anymore despite two dicks pistoning your ass, as one cock thrust forward the other pulled back. All the while the one occupying your mouth was happily pumping away, content with enjoying the wet warmth of your mouth as he fed you more pre. Between all the sensations overtaking your body, the cocks sliding in and out of you, the pheromones and relaxing fluid, and the hands roaming over your sides, face, and thighs, you couldn’t help but blow another load, right on the wasp that was below you. “See? It feels good to be our queen, doesn’t it,” he asked with a mocking chuckle knowing full well it was just your body’s response and it didn’t mean you were enjoying your predicament. After several minutes the one making you suck him pulled out and moaned as he came all over your face, covering you in warm slippery fluid. There were no eggs in this ejaculation, he was certainly saving all of those to be deposited deep inside you to go along with his friend’s. Your skin tingled a bit where the cum touched you and you began to feel just a bit dizzy as your inhibitions slowly lowered just a bit and you became even more relaxed. The cum was much more potent than just the precum and the load up your ass was gradually affecting you as well. Musk permeating the air was much thicker than it had been, or maybe you just noticed it more now, but it was making you drool a bit and you couldn’t help but bounce back a bit against the dicks in your suddenly hungry hole. “I feel really weird… can we stop now…” You stifled a cry, something wasn’t right, you were much more sensitive than normal to everything and you were having difficulty thinking clearly. The wasps all smirked as they ignored you, knowing that their fluid was slowly turning you into a weak little queen they could worship and fill with egg after egg. It was slowly changing your very DNA, making you receptive to hybrid pheromones, making you crave them. The one that had previously unloaded in you pulled out and came all over your back. Moments later the one below you working you on his shaft like some kind of living sex toy slammed you down to the base of his cock and filled you deeply with even more eggs and semen, causing you to spasm and moan weakly with a dry orgasm of your own. “Fuck! You’re a great incubator!” While you were panting and trying to recover the wasp previously abusing your mouth unceremoniously pulled you off the cock you were on and gripped you tight from behind, his erection easily sliding in your cum leaking entrance. “Not done yet, being queen is very busy work, you have to take my eggs too~” “P-please no more, I-I feel funny,” you pleaded desperately as your head was swimming with mixed signals. You knew you didn’t want this but you were so light headed you could barely think, and now these wasp men smelled so alluring, and wouldn’t having more eggs in you feel so nice? “I-I n-need to s-stop…” You felt an instinctual need to keep letting them fill you up, but at the same time you were burning up and truly felt feeble and sick. “Shhh, shhh, just relax, okay? You have been such a good mate for us so far~” He licked a long stripe up your neck with his thin tongue and held you tighter as he continued grinding into you. Without warning he started flying a few feet in the air while still breeding you, his insect instincts telling him to give you a proper nuptial flight. In no time the other wasps joined in as well, both of them in front of you, tending to their precious queen. Rubbing you up and down, smearing the fluid that covered you into your skin, giving little kisses and nibbles, and caresses where they saw fit. They were a bit brutish, but they knew the transition occurring in all of your cells was a rough one and they wanted to help their queen embrace his new role as easily as possible, especially since you had been such a perfect weak little mate for them. You would have continued to beg for them to stop, but it felt so nice now. And it would have been so ungrateful. These nice men were taking care of you so sweetly, giving you lots of eggs to tend to, choosing you to take care of them. It made you feel fluttery in the pit of your stomach. You were so lucky. With a shudder the final load of eggs was unloaded into you, the wasp man behind you wrapping his legs around yours as he came. They all gently lowered you to the ground, one of them keeping you in his arms with you leaning against him and burying your head in his neck before passing out from sheer exhaustion. The wasps’ fluids were still hard at work rewriting your DNA, somewhat like a virus. It was definitely taking a toll on you. Your harem of wasp-men took you to your house and had you all washed up and bundled in your bed, keeping a dedicated vigil over you as you had a deep but feverish sleep. They did not like seeing you uncomfortable, unless it was from them teasing you. But they knew it would be worth it, when you woke up in a few days you would be totally dependent on them. Your new insect DNA demanding you to always be by one of them for safety and telling you that you would constantly need to be incubating their eggs. Their pheromones would comfort, alert, or arouse you based on what they needed to communicate and you would produce some as well that allowed them to track you and be aware of your condition. You’d even grow antenna and your skin would take a reddish tone. You would technically be a wasp hybrid yourself, but that would be the extent of your transformation. Just a weak incubator hopelessly dependent on them for the rest of your life.

Could you write a Sokka x firebender reader that has the plot of the secret tunnel episode but instead of aang and katara getting stuck together it’s him and reader? :)
Don’t Let the Cave In Get You Down
a/n: got two requests for this sokka storyline and i was very excited to write it! i couldn’t find a way to seamlessly include the fire bending part of the request but i could definitely build on that in another piece. hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media
you met the Gaang when they were passing through a small trading village on the outskirts of the Earth Kingdom
they were low on supplies and in need of a shopping spree, so they stopped at your little food stand in search of fresh fruit and snacks for their travels
you seemed awfully young to have your own business, especially when compared to the other merchants, but you were kind and your prices were affordable
their shopping spree was cut short by the arrival of fire nation soldiers, but you quickly escorted them through the backstreets of the marketplace and helped them evade the soldiers
“That was a close call,” Aang breathed out in relief, “thanks for your help.”
“Those guys are jerks, I couldn’t live with myself if I had just let them capture you.”
“Who are you?” Katara asked in awe.
“My name is y/n, and I’ve been hiding out in this village for about three years now. I escaped from the Fire Nation when I was 12 and never looked back.”
“Wait a minute, Fire Nation?!” Sokka exclaimed before quickly pushing his sister and Aang behind him. Raising his boomerang in a threatening manor, he narrowed his eyes at you. “Is this some kind of trick?! Did you just lure us out here so you could capture Aang and get the reward for yourself?”
“Sokka, you’re being ridiculous!” Katara had scolded angrily, harshly pushing his boomerang away. “She said herself she came here to get away from the Fire Nation, I’m sure she’s just trying to make a better life for herself here and you’re not making that any easier for her by being a jerk!”
“I don’t trust her, Katara!”
You’re a little disheartened by the disdain in his voice when he speaks about you, and despite Katara vouching for you you can see that you’re out of place
“I’m sorry, I’ve made things awkward,” you apologized sheepishly, “I’ll leave you now.”
“Wait!” Aang called, stopping you from going. “If what you said is true then… then I think you should come with us.”
“Tell me you’re joking,” Sokka scoffed in disbelief
“If she’s from the Fire Nation then she must have knowledge about the ins and outs of that place. Maybe she can even help me find a fire bending master. We need her help, Sokka.”
Though he was reluctant and very distrusting of you, Sokka realized Aang was right, so he begrudgingly allowed the airbender to welcome you to their team
You agreed to help as much as you can, and the rest was history
From there on out you’re officially a member of Team Avatar, but that doesn’t mean Sokka becomes any more trusting of you
He always keeps a suspicious eye on you, never letting you help with tasks he deems too important to avoid having you “sabotage” the group
His lack of trust in you hurts, you can’t lie about that, but you continue to do what you can to aid the Avatar and his friends and earn their trust
Of course, this all changes when you get to the cave of two lovers
Unlike Sokka, you found Chong and his group of Nomads to be great fun. They’d braided your hair beautifully with flowers from the lake and performed wonderful songs, so despite your predicament you were in a cheerful mood
Being stuck in the cave had put a strain on your group’s mission to make it to Omashu, but you tried to remain hopeful and help as best as you can
Surprisingly, Sokka even puts you in charge of holding one of the torches
“I’m only giving this to you because I know you’re at least smart enough not to waste resources while we’re in here.”
It’s a start
And it’s a good thing he gave you that torch, because it comes in handy when you both end up getting separated from the rest of the group
“This is just great,” Sokka utters sarcastically after several failed attempts to dig through the rock and get back to the others.
“Come on, Sokka, lighten up. We have a torch and your map, I’m sure we’ll be able to figure something out,” you try to console. “What did Chong say earlier? ‘Don’t let the cave in get you down, Sokka.’”
He’s not amused by your singing
It’s a bit awkward being stuck with the boy who’s been so adamant that you don’t belong despite your best efforts to prove that you can be trusted
You don’t speak much and try to stay out of his way and follow his lead, but the tunnels keep changing and you keep getting lost and your torch is about to burn out, so things are beginning to seem hopeless
“Maybe we should try changing our strategy,” you offer only for Sokka to immediately dismiss you.
“Right, like I’m going to let you lead us through the cave. You’ll probably make us get lost on purpose.”
“You know, if you stopped being so judgmental for a second you’d probably realize that i want to get out of this cave just as much as you do!” You snap irritably, surprising Sokka. you’ve mostly stayed docile to try and keep the peace whenever Sokka accuses you of being untrustworthy, but at this point you’re finally starting to get fed up
“You’re right, I’m sorry,” he says softly, and this time you’re the one whos surprised. You never thought he’d actually apologize to you, and it’s a nice feeling. “What do you suggest we do?”
“Well,” you start with a sigh, “maybe the story is right. Maybe if we trust in love, we’ll find our way out of here.”
“You’re joking, right?”
“Do you have any better ideas?”
You simply shrug, prompting Sokka to let out a heavy sigh. Your torch is going to run out soon, and his map isn’t doing anyone any favors. It seems you have no choice
“How exactly do we trust in love?”
“I’m not sure… the only love I know is the love I had from my parents, but I haven’t felt it in so long… I’m not sure I ever will again.”
“…What happened to them?”
“My parents were peasants with nothing but love to give each other. They were poor, but they were happy,” you explain with a faint smile. “My father was a fire bender, but he kept his gift hidden in fear he’d be forced to serve in the Fire Nation army. He didn’t want to leave me or my mother, but our home was attacked, and he had no choice but to bend to protect us. Our lives were saved, but he was taken away.”
Sokka hangs on to your every word, eyes glistening with unshed tears and sympathy. Your story is similar to his own, and he knows what it’s like to lose your family to the Fire Nation. He feels less disdain towards you now, more empathetic. He still isn’t 100% sure how to feel about you, but hearing your story makes you easier to understand now
“My mother knew I’d never be safe or happy if I stayed there, so she arranged for me to be smuggled out of the Fire Nation and brought to the trading village you first met me in. I haven’t seen or heard from her since, and I’m not even sure if she or my father are even alive.”
“I’m sorry,” Sokka utters solemnly. “Katara and I lost our mother to the Fire Nation, and we haven’t seen our father since he left to fight in the war. I know how you feel.”
“I don’t want to be Fire Nation, you know. None of this was a choice, and I understand why you don’t trust me but I’m not like them Sokka. Please believe me.”
“I’m sorry for always giving you such a hard time. It’s just… it’s hard to believe people from the Fire Nation can actually be good. But you’ve proven that you can be trusted over and over again, I was just too blind to see it.”
“Can we start over?” He asks with a sheepish smile, carefully sticking his hand out for you to shake. Instead, you push his hand away and throw your arms around him in a tight embrace.
The force of your hug knocks him back a bit, and though he’s unsure at first, he eventually returns your embrace by carefully wrapping his arms around your figure
The fire of your torch slowly begins to die, but neither of you seem to notice or care as you enjoy your moment together
You expect to be engulfed in darkness when the flame goes out, but instead you’re met with the beautiful shimmers of the crystals that line the roofs of the cave
“It’s so beautiful,” you murmur in awe, your eyes sparkling under the light
“Yeah,” your counterpart utters quietly, but he isn’t looking at the crystals
“Was she always this pretty?” Sokka wondered to himself
Together, you’re eventually able to follow the crystals and make your way out of the cave
And when you leave the cave, hands woven tightly together, you leave as two completely new people
You understand each other now, you trust each other
And your relationship will only continue to grow stronger from then on out

“And one more step, sweetling,” Aemond says from behind you, his hands firmly on your waist as he helps you climb down from Vhagar’s enormous saddle. Finally, both of your feet touch the earth once more; you can’t help but let out a relieved sigh, no matter how many times you ride Vhagar with your husband, you’re always thankful to make it to the ground in one piece. “There we are,” he says with a smile, spinning you around and sweetly pressing his lips against yours, “Perfect, as always.”
Even after so many years together, you still blush at his compliments. “You were right about going riding today,” you admit with a small sigh, thinking back to him finally convincing you to accompany him earlier that morning, “It was absolutely breathtaking as usual.”
Aemond merely smiles and leans in to kiss your forehead, lilac eye soft as it meets yours, “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, my love.”
Finally, he turns to Vhagar with a bright smile, the only time he ever smiled fully, with his teeth. “Se ao gōntan rōvēgrie tubī tolī, ñuha gevie riña,” he said brightly, stroking his hands along her rough scales as if he were petting an enormous cat, “Kirimvose, Vhagar.” He whispers, downright reverently, and rests his forehead against her for a moment, as if he were trying to communicate telepathically with the giant beast. (“And you did great today too, my beautiful girl.”) (“Thank you, Vhagar.”)
And for all you know, maybe they are, for it‘s at that moment that Vhagar grumbles contentedly, the pattern of it familiar to you now. She swings her massive head around to sniff Aemond, huffing in a way that sounds pleased, even to you, like she’s just as happy being with him as he is with her.
Finally, her huge, breathtaking orange eyes fix themselves on you. Your heart leaps in your chest, it always does, and you can’t imagine there will come a day when it doesn’t. Steadying your breath, you lift your arm in the smooth, calm way Aemond showed you many years ago, and extend your hand out. Your breath catches as she leans in and you glance at Aemond, who is still rubbing away at her side and murmuring Valyrian praises, a soft smile on his face. Vhagar huffs as she sniffs your hand, her warm breath fanning over your arm, before another loud purr rumbles through her, evidently pleased with you in some way you’ll never understand, before turning her head back around and resting it against the forest floor, an indication that she’s done for the day.
Aemond pulls away from her with a sigh, patting her once more before taking your arm and leading you from the massive forest clearing in which the dragon resides. “It’s a pity she’s too large for the Dragonpit,” you say sadly as you and your husband walk hand-in-hand down the narrow, winding path that leads back to the Red Keep, “I hope she doesn’t get lonely out here.”
Aemond huffs out a small laugh, smiling as he turns his gaze toward you for a second. “Truthfully, I think she likes it out here,” he murmurs thoughtfully, “She needs some solitude, I believe.”
“She’s very much like her rider in that way,” you smile, bumping your shoulder against his, “Always needing alone time.”
Aemond is quiet for a second, sinking into that contemplative silence he so often went to after a long day. Just when you’re ready to accept that the rest of the walk back would be done in silence, he speaks again. “Never from you, though, my love.” He says lowly, squeezing your arm a bit tighter as he does.
You look over at him with a soft smile, the evening sun shining through the canopy of leaves overhead lights his pale hair in a golden halo, making him look every bit as ethereal as the Targaryen’s are rumored to be.
The light in his hair makes you think back to earlier that day, makes you think of every time you’ve ridden Vhagar with him. You think of how commanding he is on the saddle, how regal and elegant he looks with the breeze blowing through his long hair. How free he looks, how happy. On dragonback is truly where your beautiful husband shines, where he’s most himself.
It makes a familiar heat burst to life within you.
Suddenly, you feel nearly dizzy with how badly you need him. How badly you need to please him, to worship him like he’s one of the Gods.
Unable to contain yourself further, you come to a quick stop before pressing him back against the thick trunk of a tree, catching him so off guard that he has no time to react and lands with a soft thud against the bark.
“What — ?” He hardly has time to voice the question before you’re pressing your lips against his desperately, letting out a shuddering, high-pitched moan as you press yourself against him. The kiss is more teeth and tongues than anything else, Aemond determined to keep pace with you as he pulls you ever tighter against him, his length already hardening in his leather riding trousers at your eagerness.
Finally, you pull away from him with a soft, shy smile, teeth biting into your lower lip. “Where in the Seven is this coming from?” Aemond asks, peering at you with amusement.
“I need you,” you nearly whimper, grabbing at his leather tunic, “Now.”
His eye widens, glancing around the forest before flicking back to you, “What, here?” You merely nod, and he huffs out a small laugh, “Sweetling, why not wait until we’re back in our —.”
“I can’t,” you sigh, cutting him off yet again as you trail kisses down his jaw and neck, “Need you now.” You murmur before sinking to your knees, though you don’t miss the way his eye darkens as your knees plant themselves against the earth.
“Fuck,” he mutters, fingers immediately running through your hair, smoothing it out in the way he always does, “My love —.” He starts again, and you can sense the refute coming.
“Aemond, if I don’t, I fear I’ll die.”
“You’ll die?” He laughs, blushing despite himself, as he cups your cheek gently in one hand, sighing as you lean in and press warm kisses against the outline of his hard cock through his pants, “We definitely don’t want that… get on with it.” He pants, lightly tapping your cheek in a way that makes your eyes flutter, the casual dominance of it sending you into a tailspin.
Your hands shake with need as you quickly unlace his breeches, your groan almost as loud as his when his hard length springs out, his cock already throbbing and dripping before you even wrap your hand around him.
You peer up at him through your lashes as you finally grasp his length, whimpering at the way it twitches against your palm.
Just as you’re about to lean in and lick the tip, he stops you with another gentle tap against your cheek, “Open.” He commands simply, and you blush deeply as you comply, opening your mouth in a perfect O shape as you look up at him. You watch as he gathers spit in his mouth before he leans forward and nearly connects your lips before spitting harshly into your mouth, chuckling at the breathy moan you let out as it settles against your tongue, “Good girl, sweetling.”
His simple praise is enough to have your center aching and you continue with more determination as you wrap your lips around the head and suck gently, using your hand to stroke his length as you do.
The effect is instantaneous, a proud heat stirring in your belly as Aemond’s head falls back against the tree, his Adam’s apple bobbing deliciously as he lets out a gruff moan. His fingers twine through your hair as you begin bobbing your head over his length, slowly taking more and more of him into your mouth, savoring the heavy feeling of him resting against your tongue.
You focus on breathing through your nose as you take as much of him into your mouth as you can, until your nose rests firmly against the warm skin at the base of his cock. His length swells into your throat, making your eyes water as you look up at him, watching the way his chest heaves as you try not to gag.
Finally, he looks back down at you and growls low in his chest, resting a hand on the back of your head as you work your mouth over his cock, not enough to push your head down but enough to remind you he’s there.
You moan around him, one hand braced against one of his thighs while the other comes up to cup his stones, gently kneading them in time with your gags around his length, a few tears streaming down your cheeks as you let him prod at the back of your throat.
“Gods,” he rasps, sucking in air through his teeth, “You want me to breed that sweet little throat, my love?” He asks, his voice low, nearly menacing, as he gazes down at you, lilac eye almost black enough to match the patch that covers the other one.
You nod around him as best you can, determined to keep him in the back of your throat until he meets his end and, lucky for you, that doesn’t seem too far off.
“Sweetling,” he rasps, fingers tightening in the hair at the back of your head as he ruts his hips against you, spearing your mouth somehow further down on his cock, a handful of times before he groans loudly, eye rolling back in his head as his length pulses in the back of your throat, his spend pouring into you.
Your eyes water as you take all he has to give, fingernails digging into the leather covering his thighs as you swallow around him. Finally, he relaxes and you pull off of him and suck in deep lungfuls of air, coughing a little as you wipe a hand over your mouth.
Aemond pulls you up to him, cupping your cheeks gently as his thumbs wipe away your tears. “Oh, my sweet girl,” he whispers reverently, eye sweeping over your face as he takes in your flushed cheeks and rosy lips, “You did so well for me.”
“I always hope to please you, husband,” you say with a soft smile, pressing a sweet kiss to his lips before sighing as he trails kisses down your jaw and throat.
Before you know what’s happening, he whirls you around, pressing your back against the thick tree where he once was. You open your lips to ask what he’s doing but he silences you with another kiss.
You gasp as he sinks to his knees in front of you, a mischievous smirk on his face as he pulls up the skirts of your gown. “So well, in fact,” he starts, pressing kisses up the inside of your thigh, “That I think my good girl needs a reward.”
Any reply you had waiting dies on your lips as a moan escapes you at the first swipe of his deft tongue against your soaked core, your hands tangling in his hair in the same way his had in yours. Yes, you thought as you tilted your head back against the tree, The Targaryen’s are absolutely sent from the heavens.

Hey, so we don't talk enough about A Christmas Carol as being at least a little bit about not continuing a cycle of abuse and neglect, both against others and yourself.
In the book little Scrooge is left languishing over the holidays in a boarding school for some never-explained reason, but it is made very clear that this is miserable and unfair, and that his father is doing this on purpose. His sister specifically comes to tell him that "father is so much kinder now than he used to be, that home's like heaven." This also reflects a bit of Dickens's own childhood when his father went into debtor's prison and little Charlie was forced to support his family working full time in a shoe-blacking factory at the age of 12 (which is also why so many of his books seem to have a moral of "hey, kids are people too and maybe we shouldn't make them work in the mines.")
Whatever family reunion happened after didn't work out, because Scrooge continues believing that no one is coming to save him and pulling himself up by his bootstraps at the detriment of all other social relationships is the only way forward. And the more he lives by that philosophy, the more miserable he gets, because obviously he pushes away anyone who has that hope that he lost. They threaten to break down the walls he's built and teach him that a big pile of money doesn't have to be the only thing that he can rely on, if he'd just let himself be vulnerable and have a relationship with people who care about him, because they're out there even if he's ignoring them.
There is a certain type of person still very much out there who thinks this way. "I've never been happy in my life, so no one else has a right to be either. I was abused in my childhood so it's only fair that everyone else suffer as well." We see this in parents who still try to use corporal punishment, and in wealthy people who ignore the social factors keeping others down and scream that everyone else is just entitled, that only those who suffer and scrape deserve happiness. And they especially hate the people like Fred who represent the past that could have been, who have maintained hope for the future, and seem to be rubbing their optimism in your face, when in reality they're just maintaining hope because it's the only way you can survive.
It's so important for Scrooge to actually see the impact this thinking has on both himself and multiple generations. Rich people have this weird hangup about this story because they think Scrooge is bad because he's rich. He's not, he's bad because he's a horrible person and a miser - he doesn't use his money to better anything, including himself. Salting the earth, everyone suffers here, including him. And he learns that he's going to die old and alone without ever having spent or enjoyed his money, and that his family feels sorry for him, and that the nameless masses of poor people out there that he decries so much are in fact living, breathing people, including tiny disabled kids who don't deserve to suffer just because you decided life isn't fair.
In the end he takes responsibility for actually uplifting the people in the next generation who are trying to make the world a better place and no longer punching down, because it doesn't have to be this way. So many people out there just give up hope because things are hard and they think trying to improve things is a pointless exercise that makes them look dumb. How dare you grow a year older and not an hour richer! How dare you marry for love! That's the only thing more ridiculous than a Merry Christmas! When in reality, there are plenty of people who would love to see them happy if they just had a chance.
It's really sad that, while the language used to describe it has changed, these problems still persist. That people feel so wronged and isolated that they spend their days ensuring everyone else will be as well. That they fail to see their fellow humans as fellow humans who are just as deserving of love and kindness and a roof over their heads. I don't care what time of year it is, we should all be lifting each other up rather than tearing each other down.

Okay so I have this idea where reader has been taking care of hope for 7 years (Hayley is like dead Marcel killed her or smt) and like in the show Marcel has klaus locked away but when the family rescues him they all come to realise that y/n has built like a whole army of werewolves/vampires just to protect hope. Klaus see’s how much she loves hope and he has loved y/n for like 12 years and hope notices this and then hope tells him that y/n has cried herself to sleep ever night because of loosing him and then obviously the rest is up to you.
This idea has been in my head for a while so I do hope you write it and if not thank you for whatever you write next 🥰🥰🥰🥰
And also sorry my description was so bad but I forgot to say smut would be greatly appreciated ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Family
Y/n had grown up alongside Hayley in the foster care system. They were adopted together and thrown out together. They were loyal to one another no matter the consequences and would follow the other to the ends of the earth.
Y/n hadn't batted an eye at the idea of living with the most dangerous family in the world, if Hayley was going then so would she. She showed her devotion to the unborn Mikaelson and quickly gained the attention and respect of the originals.
Elijah appreciated her love and protective characteristics over her family, Hayley and the baby. Rebekah liked that it didn't matter who said what about her, whether they claimed she was a useless human or nothing more than something to eat, she wouldn't back down form a fight. Klaus had originally thought her to be a little foolish with her confidence and need to help but he found that she knew what she was doing, she was persuasive and intelligent.
When the witches first killed Hayley and took the new born baby, Y/n had pushed aside the grief and the pain from Hayleys death. Niklaus and Elijah could see the horror in her eyes but she told them to get up and find the baby, and they did. Thankfully Hayley returned, as a hybrid, and Hope survived.
Y/n was happy for them to compel her to believe Hope was dead but Klaus interjected and said that he didn't believe it to be necessary. That was when Elijah knew that his brother had placed his trust in Y/n.
The Mikaelson brothers watched as Y/n stayed beside Hayley no matter how much she yelled, screamed, cried, killed. Despite Hope not dying, Hayley still felt the pain of loss. It was easy for her to take it out on Y/n, to bring up her past family and to push at all her buttons but Y/n never gave in. She ignored it even when Klaus and Elijah would get involved, sometimes Hayley would have said something particularly hurtful and one of the brothers would intervene, yelling at Hayley to go calm down and offering some sort of comfort to Y/n but she wouldn't accept it.
There was one occasion when Hayley had bitten Y/n, her humanity was almost gone and she had attacked her bestest friend. Klaus had gone ballistic. Elijah had healed Y/n though she insisted it wasn't that bad while Klaus finally managed to scream some sense into Hayley.
Apologies were made and accepted before finally they were all able to go see Hope.
Y/n hadn't ever had a family, even when she was adopted with Hayley they only took Y/n because Hayley wouldn't go without her. So when Rebekah pulled the camera out for a family photo, Y/n made her way inside but Klaus had noticed and went to get her.
A gentle hand was placed on her shoulder to gain her attention as he guided her back to the others and promised her that she was their family now. Rebekah had been ecstatic and pulled Y/n to her side as Klaus held up the camera and they all smiled.
From then onwards Y/n would bond with Hope more and more. Hayley had sat with her and they had agreed that should anything ever happen to Hayley, that Y/n would never leave Hope alone. There was absolutely no convincing needed with this arrangement.
Over the next year witches, wolves and vampires came and went. Y/n stayed with the Mikaelsons and befriended the wolves, Jackson especially as he was to marry her adopted sister. She stood beside Klaus at the wedding, holding Hope and watching as the baby's eyes glowed gold in unison. Klaus was just looking at Y/n, listening as Hayley and Jackson recited their vows and imagined those words of love coming from his own lips.
After, Y/n went down to celebrate and Klaus managed to get a dance with her after Elijah finally pushed him to. Something about the other just felt right. It brought a warmth that only held safety and admiration. Like home.
Y/n began to see Klaus as home. When Hayley spent so many nights in the bayou, it was Klaus that she spent her time with and Klaus who always came to seek her out. Often he would use Hope as an excuse to be around her, Hope loved Y/n very much and was always eager to see her. Klaus was even more eager to take her.
But then Lucien arrived, along with Tristan and Aurora. They ruined everything.
Y/n became a vampire, Finn was killed once again and the Mikaleons were faced with peril.
Everything happened within the blink of an eye. Rebekah was hexed and the brothers bitten and Freya poisoned. Klaus was locked away for his violent acts and the others were linked to his life and hidden away in their coffins. And then Hayley, she had gone to Marcel angry and threatening and never returned.
That left Y/n with Hope and a truck full of almost-dead Mikaelsons. She was lost for the first year with Hope. She had lost everything. Everyone.
But when Hope would wrap her little arms around her and whimper for Y/n to not be sad, she knew that she needed to pull through.
It took a lot of effort. Y/n used Marcels tactics and started turning her own vampires, earning their trust and their devotion. She offered them a new life, she sold vampirism well and convinced dozens that this was the way for them. She began to train them, she began to trust them.
There was an inner circle that knew her well and were allowed to see Hope and go inside the house to protect her and the others had a fair amount of freedom however if they wanted daylight rings then they would have to help find the ingredients to heal the Mikaelsons.
It took far longer than she would have liked, 5 years but she did it. And one by one, Freya, Kol, Elijah and Rebekah were awake and healed. It didn't take long for them to come to understand the lengths to which Y/n had gone through.
They learnt of Hayleys death and they watched as vampires came to Y/n with updates on Klaus's position. A couple of her vampires had gone undercover into Marcels territory to get an idea of Klaus's situation. It was because of this that the other Mikaelsons were able to get in easier while Y/n went to her home to see Hope now that she was back form school.
Hope saw Y/n as her mother. Of course she knew everything about Hayley, Y/n old her countless stories and made sure that Hope knew that Hayley was her mother but Hope didn't truly remember Hayley the way Y/n had thought she would. To Hope, Y/n had always looked after her and loved her so often she would call Y/n her mommy or her ma without meaning to and Y/n could never respond, unsure as to whether she was doing something wrong by being Hopes mother. But she also couldn't deny Hope and so wouldn't upset her little girl by telling her that she wasn't allowed to call her that.
So she sat down with Hope when they were having their dinner and told her that their family was coming back in the early hours of the morning. Y/n had made sure to tell Hope stories of each of the Mikaelsons and showed various pictures, Klaus especially was mentioned. "That's your Dad remember?" Y/n would whisper when they snuggled up on Hopes bed and flicked through the photos.
Sometimes Y/n would sleep beside Hope or the other way around. Hope knew that Y/n didn't sleep much, she worried so much and became sad when Hope wasn't with her. Many times Hope had asked if Y/n loved her Dad and every time Y/n would nod "He means very much to me" she would tell her and Hope would smile and hold Y/n's hand.
"He'll come back soon Mommy, don't worry" she would whisper and Y/n would sniff and nod, pulled Hope close and closing her eyes.
When Hope was told that he father was finally coming home, she was excited for both herself and for Y/n. It took hours for her to get to sleep and Y/n had to take her back to bed nearly 10 times before she stayed in bed.
It was deep into the night when the door knocked, Y/n had fallen asleep against with her head against the kitchen table but thankfully had given Freya a key before they left for Klaus. They all made their way inside and softened at the sigh of Y/n passed out with her phone infront of her. Klaus was battered and weak but made his way over to her and knelt down to the floor so that he could pull her down to his embrace. She woke as she was taken from her seat and found herself in his hold. Tears streamed within seconds and she wrapped herself within him until little footsteps were heard and everyone's attention was on the doorway.
Y/n got up quickly, pulling away from Klaus who stared at the doorway with a level of fear. He didn't want his daughter to see him for the first time while he was dirty, bloody and broken.
"Mommy?" The sleepy voiced called, Hope had just come into sight while rubbing her eyes when Y/n quickly picked her up. They all listened as she gently hushed Hope and took her back to bed.
"What's wrong baby?" She asked softly, while tucking Hope into bed. She kissed her head and slipped Hope's wolf teddy under her arm.
"Are they here yet?" Hope whispered and Y/n hesitated. She knew Hope wouldn't sleep if she knew they were there and she knew that the Mikaelsons needed a moment to recover.
"Soon" She told Hope. "They'll be here when you wake in the morning I promise." She murmured and she stroked her face and Hope whispered goodnight.
Y/n came back down and spoke quietly.
"There's enough beds upstairs each of you, you might have to share a room for the night but it's better than a coffin. There's two showers, wait fifteen minutes so Hope goes to sleep before turning them on otherwise the noise will wake her up. We'll sort everything in the morning." She muttered, somehow a hardened exterior was around her now and they all picked up on it. She spoke to them now in an almost professional manner, like she didn't know them. As they all made their way up the stairs and watched as she checked on Hope, closed her door and made her way to her own room, they wondered how hard the past five years had been for her.
The next morning they woke to a stack of blood beside each of them bar Freya who had a cup of coffee waiting. They drank before getting dressed and heading downstairs.
Y/n and Hope were both already there, sprawled out on the sofas and eating from a bowl of berries while watching the TV. Kol was the first to clear his throat making Hope's head shoot up. Her confidence diminished quickly and she was hiding behind Y/n as she got up.
Y/n pointed to the fridge and cupboards, "If you're hungry you can find everything there, I've set up phones for you all so they're on the table. Theres a couple guys outside but they're just here to make sure nobody else is so you can check the garden if you need. Cars are coming in the afternoon to relocate now that you're awake and we have an interview with a school for Hope tomorrow morning so we need to get a full nights sleep and leave by 4pm latest this afternoon." She told them while lifting Hope from the sofa and placing her by the backdoor. "Paints are outside" she whispered to Hope who nodded and ran out to her art table in the garden.
The Mikaelsons each took their new phone and grabbed something to eat before sitting down while Klaus went to the window to watch his daughter from afar. Y/n went back to the kitchen and started washing plates when Elijah came beside her and placed a hand on her back.
"You know that you are our family Y/n" he whispered to her, concerned that she may think otherwise, "even with Hayley gone" he added faintly and she nodded. "I understand you've taken the role as Hopes mother-"
"I haven't. Hayley's her mom, Hope knows that she just slips up" She snapped back and Elijah frowned at the aggression.
"I didn't mean it as a negative thing." He replied softly, "Hayley would love that you are so close to Hope, she had told me all those years ago that you were as much Hopes mother as she was. You have always been her mother, none of us would take that from you."
Y/n sniffled at the thought of Hayley's permission almost and Elijah brought her into his embrace. He had been taking care of his family for centuries, he had the best understanding of what she was going through and he never wanted her to think that they would take Hope away from her just because Hayley was gone.
Meanwhile, Klaus had plucked the courage to go outside and sit with his daughter. He painted alongside her in a comfortable silence while nature danced around them until Y/n came outside and called for lunch. The scene made Klaus think of a movie or a sweet story and Hope smiled and jumped from her seat and tugged Klaus inside for food. He chuckled and followed, obediently sitting beside his little girl while Y/n went on the other side of her. Elijah and Y/n had prepared a simple but homey pasta dish to fill everyone before they needed to leave.
It was during lunch that Hope took notice of how her father glanced and gazed at her mother figure. Part of her was happy for them that they had found their way back and she could have that picture perfect family she had dreamed of for years but the other part of her pushed that idea away. She feared that perfect reality and quickly became upset with the thought of it all.
Y/n could see Hope stressing and took her outside to talk to her. Rebekah tried to comfort Klaus as he sat in a pained silence with the thought that his daughter didn't like him enough.
They didn't speak of it as they divided up into cars and drove to another state, to a suburban area where they had their own homes and new starts. Rebekah was excited, Freya was apprehensive, Kol decided to go his own way but to keep in touch, Elijah was willing to go wherever was seen as safest and Klaus would follow Hope and Y/n wherever they may go.
When Y/n handed him the keys to his own house he frowned, he didn't want to be by himself. He never had. Y/n had asked Hope if she would want to stay primarily at her dads but she wasn't so sure as she didn't really know him anymore.
The separate house arrangement lasted no longer than a week before Klaus was insisting they get a big house they could all stay in. Freya and Rebekah got a smaller house together, Elijah got himself an apartment close by but a little further out and Klaus moved in with Y/n and Hope after getting upset and Y/n understanding his needs.
He had his own room but he never wanted to be in it. He wanted to be in Y/n's, he wanted her and she wouldn't let him. Hope slowly got used to the idea but Y/n pulled away from it despite the ache in her heart that called for him.
Klaus soon believed that she truly didn't feel anything more than that friendship/family bond that she had with his siblings but Hope made sure he knew the truth one night when they were watching a movie and Y/n was out sorting out some vampires that apparently worked for her with both confused and impressed the Mikaelsons.
"I know you love my mom" She told him as they both kept their eyes on the TV, not daring to look at the other as this particular topic arose. Klaus cleared his throat and smacked his lips together but she didn't give him a chance to respond. "She told me she loves you too. Lots of times actually" she quipped and Klaus stared at the screen intensley. "But she won't tell you because she doesn't want to make it weird or make a mistake" she told him.
"She thinks it would be a mistake?" He asked, mentally cursing himself for the childish behaviour he was giving into.
"No...I don't know...She just loves you a lot and she'd be sad again if it didn’t work and I don’t want her to be sad again…” she trailed and Klaus glanced to her.
“Again?” He whispered, wondering if she had been with another man in the years they were apart and it hadn’t worked.
“She used to cry a lot” Hope mumbled, feeling guilty for telling Klaus about it. “Sometimes she would cry in her sleep too” she added and Klaus frowned, wrapping an arm around Hope and pulling her into a hug as she got upset. “She missed you” she whimpered and Klaus nodded, kissing Hopes head and wiping the tears from under her eyes. “She needs you” she told him on a small, strained voice.
Klaus rubbed her back and stroked her hair while Hope cried and let out all her worries for her mother and all the times she had seen her distraught. Klaus told her how he should have been there for them and promised that he would never leave them alone, never let them suffer again.
They ended the night on a lighter note, managed to pull a few laughs and smiled form each to her before Klaus tucked Hope into bed and found her wolf teddy for her. He then sat and told her of how one day she would get to be a wolf if she wanted and would be able to run freely, he told her how he felt when he was in his wolf form and how much he knew she would love it.
Once she fell asleep he went to his room and waited for the sound of the front door to clothes and footsteps up the floor before he came out. He stepped out from his doorway in only a pair of sleep pants, his eyes landed on Y/n and his brows rose. Her face was splattered with dried blood and her hands covered in it. She looked back at him but didn’t utter a word, just went straight for the bathroom.
Klaus followed her quickly and closed the door behind them so that Hope wouldn’t see Y/n looking so dishevelled.
“What happened?” He whispered as she tried to shimmy out of her clothes without touching anything else. He leaned over and clicked the shower on.
“It’s nothing” she mumbled, peeling her shirt from her skin leaving her in just her bra and panties as her jeans lay in a puddle on the floor. Klaus frowned and his hand cupped her face but she pushed it away. “Go away I need to shower” she muttered as she unhooked her bra and he sighed before walking out and staring at the bathroom door as she scrubbed the blood away.
He waited for her to come back out before pestering her again. Demanding to know where she was, what she was doing, who she was doing it to or with. Eventually she snapped and told him it was for Hope. She told him that people had been trying to kill her or take her all of the time, no matter how many spells were on her to protect her. So she had to get rid of the few people who knew their location and also make new vampires near where they were to ensure security.
Klaus didn’t know how to feel.
Before, she was strong headed but she had never been a killer. She did what she had to but she was still emotional and compassionate. He blamed himself, he wanted her to be a Mikaelson and she had become one. She acted like one, she loved like one, she was one.
“I can do that for you, for Hope” he told her gently and she couldn’t help the scoff that left her making him sigh. “Love, we’re here now, it isn’t your job to fight anymore” he argued and she glared at him.
“It was never my job.” She bit, “I did it because I wanted to. I do it because I want to. Hope is safe because of me, you are all safe because of me and I will keep it that way because even after a thousand years you lot still wind up dead time and time again!” She sneered, her vampiric features displaying across her face as her anger rose.
Klaus stared at her as she glared at him, she was mad and he knew that. She had been saving her rage for five years. She was mad that they left her alone, she was mad they let Hayley die not once but twice. She was mad that they hadn’t listened to her all those years ago, she was mad she became a vampire because of them. She was mad that she had never been given an easy option since the day she met them. She was mad and she needed to express it and if there was something Klaus was good at, it was expressing his rage.
So he pushed her, hard. Y/n stumbled back and felt herself tik. She flew back at him roughly, causing him to hit straight back against the wall with a wince before going back to her and shoving her. He only put his hands on her a couple more times before her hands were swinging and her nails clawed at him. He whispered for her to keep going, to get it out as she cried and hit at him. She told him all the things she hated about him and his family. All the things he had put her through and all the struggle she had with Hope. Having to look after a Mikaelson witch with werewolf anger and vampire strength was not something anyone was equipped for but Y/n, a newly turned vampire was certainly not.
Eventually she was too exhausted to keep going. Klaus was on the floor, propped up against the door with his bloodied arm around her shoulders as she curled against him and sobbed. His face and body slowly healed, as he panted for air and rest his head against hers.
After a while she calmed down and realised how much she had hurt him and started crying for the pain she had caused. Klaus told her he had wanted her to so it was okay but she hated herself for it either way. They ended up back in the bathroom, taking separate showers again before heading back out and being in a better mood. They kissed each other on the cheek goodnight and went to bed.
The next morning Y/n was lighter on her feet, she already seemed more relaxed and settled. Less on edge wondering when she would explode with anger. Hope gave Klaus a weird look and asked if they finally admitted they loved each other but he shook his head and she shrugged. Y/n was happy so Hope was happy.
Klaus and Y/n took Hope to her school before going back home and digging up the garden to start planting herbs and flowers. Some had magical properties and some didn’t. Klaus handled the vervain and Y/n handled the wolvesbane before they went inside and started making lunch only for them to get bored and decide to go out instead.
They went down to a small cafe and just ended up having sandwiches and cake anyway but at were happy that they didn’t have to make it themselves.
After they headed back home they cleaned up the house and discussed Hopes upcoming birthday. Y/n told him about her past birthdays and presents and showed him pictures from the last few years.
Weeks went by, Klaus and Y/n became the power parents they had both hoped they would be and Hope finally had the family she wanted.
Hope however started to get annoyed. She just needed them to give in and be together. So she started making hints. But apparently they weren’t strong enough so she went with being direct.
“Would you two just kiss already? Stop staring at each other!” She yelled from the kitchen, knowing they were glancing to one another while the film played in the background. Y/n blushed pink and Klaus cleared his throat, getting up and grabbing Hope. He spun her around and tickled her sides, whispering for her to shut her mouth while she squirmed and giggled.
It happened on many occasions that Hope would just tell them to get on with it. Klaus would watch for Y/n’s reaction waiting for her to give him the okay.
It was late one night when she finally did. It was just them downstairs, Hope was over at a friend’s house for a sleepover so just the two of them were watching usual Saturday night television. They were cuddled up with a blanket around them when Y/n leaned her head back and gave him a look. His brows briefly furrowed as he tried to decipher it before a tense silence overcame them. Both daring the other to do it.
Klaus caved first, leaning down and pressing his mouth to hers. Their lips moved in unison and Y/n’s hands went to his hair, tugging him onto her. The soft, wet sounds of their mouths filled the small amount of air between them as he pushed her down against the sofa and slid his hands under her thighs, hiking her legs up and round his waist.
Y/n stroked her hands round his face, her fingers memorising every detail of his face. Her thumbs brushed over his ears and down his neck while her tongue wrapped around his. Klaus slid his hands up and under her shirt, gliding along her skin to her bra. His fingers teased the lace making her pull her mouth from his and tug her shirt over her head.
Klaus kissed her lips again softly before pressing his own to her chest. Her hand cupped the back of his head, her eyes following his lips as they kissed and sucked down the valley between her breasts slowly. His other hand slid beneath her to unhook her bra and pull it off her arms.
She breathed heavily, looking up at him with lustrous eyes.
“You look so gorgeous” he murmured as he lowered his head to wrap his lips round one of her nipples. Y/n moaned softly as it pebbled against his tongue and her back arched to push her breasts against his face. He groaned softly and squeezed them both in his hands while his mouth teased them both interchangeably.
Y/n moaned his name and lifted his Henley over his head and slid her hands down his chest while his fingers picked at the button on her jeans. She helped drag them off her legs and quickly got her hands onto his. He kicked his own off and pressed himself back against her.
Their mouths were back against each other in a heated frenzy and his erection pressed against his boxers and then against her panties. She moaned against him and thrust her hips up to feel him. Klaus moved his lips down to her jaw and nipped at the skin while his hand made its way down to her stomach.
"Klaus" she whispered breathlessly as she pulled her lips off his and looked down to where his fingers brushed along the soft material of her underwear.
"Please" he uttered. It was an unexpected word for him to say but it made her eyes shimmer as she looked up at him. He leaned down to kiss her once again and she allowed herself to melt into it as he slowly dragged her panties down and off her legs. His hands brushed back up her thighs and she didn't resist when he guided them open and flat against the bed.
Klaus gently stroked his fingers along her pussy lips. Klaus groaned softly as they slid through her wetness and found her clit. Y/n let out a small gasp and pulled her head back, Klaus looked down at her as the back of her head pressed against the couch. Their eyes locked as the pad of his finger rubbed little circles against her clit. He watched in lust and fascination as her breathing escalated and her eyes watered while she tried to keep them open and focused on him.
"I missed you so much" he admitted quietly while pushing a finger into her entrance. Y/n let out a sweet cry that made the desire within him swirl and spike. His finger curled inside her perfectly, his thumb continued to pet her bundle of nerves until her body couldn't help but grind against his hand and his lips pressed a row of kisses along her throat.
"Klaus" she repeated with a moan and he smiled against her skin.
"I thought of you every day" he whispered as another finger began to thrust inside her with each precise flick of his wrist.
"You did?" she whimpered, her heart swelling with love and bashfulness. He nodded with a soft look in his eyes and pumped his fingers deeper into her until the breath was taken from her lungs.
"You were always right there in my mind. You brought me peace" he told her and she moaned weakly. Her hands squeezes at the sheets below her as her eyes shut. Klaus's fingers thrust and curled beautifully to meet the sensitive point that made her toes curl and her pussy clench tightly. "You saved me from myself" he whispered as his lips trailed down the front of her body again, a little quicker this time. His thumb brushed over her clit before his tongue replaced it.
Y/n's body arched in delight and her legs quivered as the soft heat of his mouth caressed her cunt. His tongue swirled around her sensitive bud as his fingers picked up the pace. His eyes closed as the addictive taste of her soaked onto his tongue. Her body arched and tensed with each flick of his tongue and a cry of desperation bounced off the walls as her orgasm pulsed through her. Klaus groaned softly as her pussy quivered and weeped around his fingers. He carefully, gently pulled his fingers out from her and used his mouth to clean her up.
He kissed his way back up her body to her lips and kissed her deeply, swallowing her weak moans of satisfaction and caressing his hands up along her skin. Y/n's hands brushed through his curls gently making them fluff up. Klaus pulled back and looked down at her with a genuine smile and let out a small chuckle when he felt his hair frizz.
She gazed back at him almost shyly. She had wanted him to touch her like that for so long. Too many years of longing. Raising Hope had taken away from any social life she could have had the past five years but even if Hope hadn't been a priority, Y/n only thought of Klaus like that. She could't believe that he had seen her so bare and vulnerable after all those years, touched and tasted her like she dreamed he would.
Klaus could see the thoughts dancing through her mind and slowly stroked her hair as he let her daze float over her. He pulled her to his body, wrapping her in his arm and laying with her for a bit. This was something he didn't want to push or rush. He just wanted to soak this up and be with her forever.
Y/n lay on top his body as they rest against the couch. A blanket draped over them while their eyes watched the screen before them. They were both nearly asleep but neither wanted to move so they stayed there the whole night.
By morning they were back up and getting ready to get Hope from her friends. Hope's eyes narrowed on them as soon as she got in the car, a small smile creeping onto her lips as she saw their entwined hands while they drove home.
When she got home she gave her mother a smile before offering a discreet thumbs up to her dad which made him chuckle and shake his head as she starting making kissey faces and running up the stairs giggling.

“you’ll be there, right? right? right?!”
if it’s anotamically possible to cut your ear off without passing out because of oikawa’s incessant nagging, you would’ve done it the first few seconds he begged you to accept kuroo’s reunion dinner invite before the all-star game. you were seijoh’s babysitter manager after all so, according to kuroo, it’s just right you’re there, in which you only replied with a i’ll think about it.
“haji’s gonna be there.” oikawa says in his annoying singsong voice and you swear you could hear his smirk right through your phone.
you bite your lip as if oikawa could see you blushing and smiling through the call. after years of graduating from high school, you wouldn’t have thought just hearing his name will elicit the same effect on you.
“and?” you reply nonchalantly because you would rather crawl under the earth and bury yourself alive than let oikawa confirm your cutesy, little high school crush on iwaizumi never really went away.
oikawa being your best friend saw through your reply and snorted, “pft, if i know you’ve been looking at his instagram every night before you sleep just because you’re too much of a scaredy cat to hit him up. don’t act as if you don’t zoom in on his shirtless pi—“
“oh my god, fine! i’ll go to this freaking dinner so please for the love god shut the hell up! ” you exasperatedly sigh wanting to tolerate oikawa’s teasing no longer not because it’s untrue but because you felt like you were caught committing a crime. it’s a curse and a gift you have a best friend that knows everything about you.
you hear oikawa shriek through your phone in celebration and about being there at 6, so you mutter a good bye before he lays out a plan that involves dragging you wherever into the night.
as if on cue, your phone lights up with a notification from your old group chat when the call ended,
✉️ t. oikawa: see you all on saturday!!!! no backsies!!!!!! :p
you roll your eyes knowing he’s talking about you. you were about to hit send on a message something about being him still being an annoying ass when another bubble popped in your screen that made you rewrite everything you were about to say.
✉️ h. iwaizumi: im back too 🇯🇵 see you guys :)
✉️ you: i’ll be there ☺️
come saturday, you’re standing in front of the restaurant which every nook and cranny you’re familiar with as this was a popular go-to after-school-dinner-place during your younger years with the team. you try your best not to look frantic while you check your phone at least every 10 seconds to tell oikawa “wru >:(”
you were about to hit the call button when you hear somebody clear their throat. as a reaction, you step away from where you were standing thinking you were probably blocking the entryway.
“sorry i was just w— oh. haji?” you take these few seconds to take him in—the way his shirt hugged his biceps, the watch that also somehow added to his attractiveness, his skin that’s more tanned, his freshly cut hair, and his smile. god, that smile. so many things have changed about him since he last visited home but his kind, subtly giddy smile still reached his eyes.
“been awhile, hasn’t it?” iwaizumi sheepishly say and you hold back a gasp when he scratches the back of his head that flexed his arm.
“it’s been.. yeah? yeah, it has. i mean. yes..” you nervously laugh, mentally kicking yourself for tripping over your words.
you feel your cheeks redden, not from the cold air of the darkening day but because of the manly, handsome laugh that bubbles from iwa’s chest. “watcha doin’ out here, though? waiting for a someone or..” he drags his sentence hoping you don’t hear his silent prayer that you are romantically available.
you snort before you could even think about it, “no, c’mon it’s not like that.” you laugh and went on to tell the tale of oikawa begging you to come, “i’m waiting for that idiot tooru who went several measures to make sure i’m here.”
“you two were thick as thieves, weren’t ya? i’m glad you stayed in touch even if that shithead went abroad.” iwaizumi smiles and you can’t resist staring at how he threw his head back when he laughed at oikawa’s typical antics.
“wish we did too, y’know. i missed ya.” iwaizumi suddenly confesses, “i just found myself wanting to talk to you when i was out there.”
to say your heart felt like it dropped on your feet was an understatement. it’s like everything froze—the leaves halted midair, the world went silent and the only sound you could hear was the loud thump of your heart. all what you manage to let out is, “o-oh? you did? really?”
iwaizumi looks at you like you just asked the most ridiculous question, “‘course i did. we talked every day then! remember how i used to walk you home after our trainings then stop by that dang old ramen place that was there since forever? missed hanging ‘round with you and the team ‘tis all.”
you smile as you look at the ground, shyly but fondly recollecting all the simple but sweetest moments with iwaizumi you cherish so much. with his sudden reminiscing, you recall the sort-of debate you had with him because he kept on insisting he should always walk you home.
“r-right. the team. yeah, i missed them too.” you say as you shake your head along with the thought of having a chance of romance with your longtime friend.
“we should go inside. fuck that tardy tooru i think a lot’s of them here.” you casually laugh and walk towards the door until you felt a hand on your wrist.
iwaizumi shoots you a grin, “what do you say the two of us go grab that ramen? for old time’s sake?”

Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo headcannons!!
Warnings: TBOSAS SPOILERS!!! Coriolanus Snow apologist(within reason ofc, reason being hes sexy)🗣️
A/n: I haven’t written smth fanfiction related in like a year 😧
Copying or translating my writing is not allowed. If you see my work on another site it is stolen. Reblogs are appreciated and encouraged.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo Who no matter how hard he tried to act stoic upon his arrival home from serving in district 12 couldn’t stop himself from melting in your arms when you hug him.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who seems to be more relaxed whenever you’re around. Whether he’s at home or at a capital event, when you’re with him he’s not big bad Coriolanus Snow, he’s just your Cory.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo that never pitches an attitude with you. After being best friends for so long he knows not to mess with you. You aren’t just any capital citizen or some district trash, you’re you.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who will fight to the ends of the earth to defend your honor. No matter if it’s one of his (heavily disliked) classmates or the terrifying Dr.Gaul, Coryo is there to back you up.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who tells you everything. You’re the only person in the whole world he could trust with his life, even when you two were kids, he had each other backs. From what happened to Clemmy and the snakes, to his crush on Lucy Grey, to what he did to Sejanus. Everything.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who only cries in front of you, after coming back from district 12 many people claimed Coriolanus Snow had become cold. But you see, he’s hurt, he’s still just a kid.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who only gets a full nights sleep when you’re nearby. This has been your normal since the war. While he did have Tigris and The Grandma’am, Coryo only sleeps when you’re around, and even now, you two are well into young adulthood and he drags you to sleep over multiple days a week.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who keeps getting caught getting lost in your eyes-
“And then I told her— Coriolanus Snow did you hear a thing I just said?”
“Huh? What—I’m sorry what were you saying?”
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who regrets getting caught up with Lucy Grey because you were right in front of him the whole time.
Childhoodbestfriend!Coryo who no matter how much he tried to deny it, thinks you’re the prettiest person in the world.

For the Supersons week 2023 bonus prompt: In another life
@super-sons-week
(Click for better quality)
This is an au of mines called Species swap where Damian's an alien and Jon's a human instead. Besides my apocalypse one, this one is also one of my most faves!
(More under the cut)
Damian and the Batfamily, plus the Al Ghul's, are hero aliens instead of humans (though, the Al Ghul's are more like warriors here like Tamaraneans are for example) and Jon and the Superfamily are the humans in this au who save people on earth with their highly trained combat skills and helpful gadgets.
The Al Ghuls live on a far away planet called "Lazarus planet" and Damian grew up there with them (just like in his origin). All aliens there were trained to fight very skillfully. Damian too while growing up there was trained to fight very skillfully as well, since he's going to be the ruler of that planet one day when he grows up.
But then Talia had no choice but to send Damian to his Father's planet on his 10th birthday, since some vicious aliens from another planet had came to invade their home and wanted to assassinate all of their people during that day, so she had to do it to keep him safe until the war was over. She quickly leaves their planet and uses one of the mini traveling spaceships to drive Damian to Bruce's planet, which is Gotham. After landing there and finding Bruce, she leaves Damian there with him to be taken care of while she's gone.
So for the mean time while Damian has to stay on Bruce's planet, he begins to finally get to know his Father and finally learns about the rest of his unknown Batfamily members for the first time as well. And while all of that's happening, after some time, the Al Ghul's later win the war on their planet and Talia goes back to go get Damian. Though, Damian has already become attached and didn't want to just leave his Father and his other family so soon after getting to finally know them for only just such a short time, so Talia lets him stay a little longer because of that. After that, her and Bruce both later decide on an agreement about sharing equal time with him, letting him usually spend one week on Lazarus planet with the Al Ghul's and the next one on Gotham planet with the Batfamily so that it'll be fair
With the Superfamily, Jon, Clark, Lois, Kara, Kon, and Chris live on earth as humans and fight crime protecting people (just like the Batfamily as humans). They train a lot to stay strong and also own a lot of gadgets. And just like how the Batfamily would, they have things like a Superrang, Supermobile, and etc. They also all wear masks to hide their identities
Damian's never been to earth before, not even his Mother. Though, he's always heard stories from his Father, brothers, and Grandfather about earth and it's humans, since they're the ones who have actually been there before. He was always curious about what it was like over there but he never dared to visit it, especially since he was always told by his family that he wasn't ever allowed to because of certain reasons that could possibly endanger him
One day though, during a mission in space with his brothers when he was 12 years old, which involved a bunch of dangerous aliens who owned powerful electric, laser guns, he fell down to earth after being severely shocked and knocked out by a strong laser blast. He fell down in planet earth's direction, later crashing into a video game store while Jon and his family were nearby, busy dealing with a mission of their own. Jon, after hearing the crash, went to go take a look at where and what the loud sound was caused by and saw Damian just laying there knocked out in the store with the ceiling rocks on top of him, since he had destroyed the stores roof during his crash into the place
After the rest of the Superfamily found out about it, they took Damian with them to the Fortress of solitude to find out who he was (he was still knocked out), since they knew he wasn't from earth after looking at his unique outfit and long unusual sharp, large sword. As soon as Damian woke up, he tried to fight them and escape, feeling endangered since he didn't know them, but they calmed him down and then kept him inside of a clear cube that he couldn't break through at all with his super strength so that he could stop, which just got him upset again but even more than before
They let Damian out once they found out that he wasn't a threat and tried apologizing to him. Jon excitedly then tries to become his friend and tries showing him around Metropolis during that same day until they can get him back home. Damian's clueless about earth things and only knows a little bit about the things that his family has told him about it before, so Damian ends up curiously asking Jon a lot of questions about everything around earth and in Metropolis, while Jon tries to answer them all for him (he thinks that Jon is a very smart person cause he knows all the answers to his every question lol). So they both get to bond a little and know eachother better that same day (they also fight some crime together while walking around the city)
Meanwhile, the Batfamily and the Al Ghul family are both panicking very much and are trying to find Damian as fast as they can since he's still missing. So once the Batfamily and the Al Ghul's got to earth, they got into a mini fight with the Superfamily, thinking that Damian's in danger with them. But then Bruce remembers Clark being the same exact boy he had met as a kid when he himself accidentally crashed onto earth many years ago in the past and got his help to go back home, so it all gets figured out in the end and peace is quickly made between them both and all is finally understood
Both of Damian's family finally found him after that and tried to take him safely back home, but he refused and didn't want to leave since he found everything so interesting on earth, plus he was also just starting to like Jon too. After arguing back and forth, they decided that he could visit sometimes, but only with supervision from whoever is available to go along with him during those times to make sure he's okay. Damian was pleased with that decision.
So after everything and as time went on, Damian and Jon became best friends in the end too (with crushes on eachother)
Some facts:
Damian and the Al Ghul's are the ones who rule Lazarus planet since they're the royal family there
Those from Lazarus planet are called "Lazarens" and those from Gotham planet are "Gothamites", so that makes Damian a mixed alien who is considered a "Lazamite"
Most characters who are aliens in canon are now humans in this au instead
All planets like Tamaran and Krypton don't exist in space in this au and are instead just big cities on earth. Tamaran city is corrupted under Blackfire's control over it and Krypton is a city that was destroyed many years ago, so it is now abandoned and no one ever visits it
Damian is pretty reckless on earth while fighting and using his powers on humans who are criminals, since he's not used to being that way when defeating enemies who are very strong like him back in space. So Jon has to sometimes remind him to be more careful about what he's doing and how he has to be more calmer when handling humans and certain other things
Just like how Damian always visits Jon on earth for patrol together or just hangout or have sleepovers at the Kent farm, Jon also visits Damian's planets sometimes too and they get to do many of those things together there as well
Damian wanted to find a way to be around Jon more though after becoming his friend, so after hearing that Jon goes to school in the early day, he immediately wanted to be registered in too (it's also because they don't have many schools in space for alien kids and he was homeschooled for years by Talia, so he wanted to know the experience too). Talia and Bruce didn't want to do it since they were afraid that he could get caught as an alien if he were to make any kind of mistakes around the civilians over there, but after being constantly asked over and over by their son and seeing how much he wanted it, they finally did it for him. The Superfamily decided to help him out by making him a holographic bracelet that makes him look human (which makes him look like how he always does in canon)
Damian doesn't have his canon pets with him in space in the beginning (only Goliath and Batcow who have some type of alien DNA in them) and has no idea what earth pets are like either because of this, but he does meet them on earth later on. After escaping their everyday cages, they all unexpectedly run out of a nearby pet shop while Jon is showing Damian around the city and they happily run towards the Boy Wonder. Damian prepares to defend himself since he isn't very trusting of them at first, thinking they are going to try and challenge him with an attack like other creatures he's fought before, but he was immediately met with the complete opposite after getting pushed down to the ground by them, getting a bunch of doggy and cat kisses to the face instead. This unexpected love from them quickly made him change his whole view on them, causing him to fall in love with their lovable, fluffy cuteness. The pet store owner tried to take them back inside, but Damian threatened him with his large sword so that he can leave them alone. It scared the poor guy away and Damian happily left with his new pets. After seeing that, Jon had to quickly go after Damian to tell him that's not how things are done on earth and that he has to actually go back and adopt them first for real instead of just leaving with them. After all of that, Damian later puts special collars on them (made by the Batfamily) that help them breathe properly in space so that he can take them home with him
When Jon gets married to Damian in the future when they're both adults, he also becomes a king on Lazarus planet too like Damian
In this au, Damian and the Batfamily destroyed Eberos (the creature from Dceased who was made by Darksied to start the apocalypse) before he could even do anything to earth
For abilities and other little things:
Damian has flight, Superstrength, Superspeed, laser vision, laser beams, and flame blasts that he can throw from his hands. And also, while it may be a learned skill for him in canon, it's actually a natural born ability of his to be able to imitate many voices in this au
Whenever he gets really mad, Damian's hair turns into flames until he calms down again
Lazarens have Lazarus blood in them, so whenever they get cuts or are severely injured, their wounds just close back up (after an hour) and they regenrate whatever part of their body they lost (which usually takes almost a month). They can also live up to 2000 years or even longer because of this. There are also multiple Lazarus pits on Lazarus planet
Damian's big sword is way too heavy to actually be held by humans, so only those with super strength like him can hold it. He can also transfer his abilities to the weapon while holding it during battle and make it light up in green fire, which helps him create bigger damage against enemies and make fast clean cuts through anything too
Not one of them, but Damian is allergic to these giant "shrimp" like creatures in space and will grow a big headache and will also be sneezing out whole fire breath sneezes as if he's a dragon if he's too close to them for too long. He can even take out almost a whole battle field with it too, that's how bad it is (inspired by my friend @paladin-of-nerd-fandom65 's headcanon where Damian is allergic to shrimp). After finding out about this allergy, Jon created an antidote for him that makes it go away faster whenever they bump into these creatures
Lazarens only fall in love once with someone and aren't able to go through it again with other people
Bruce is a Gothamite who is born with a lot of rare abilities that many other Gothamites don't have, so some of them were passed onto Damian too. They're: Super high intelligence, the super clear ability to observe things much better than a human as if they're like robots, astounding quick memory, and the ability to move any shadows with them when they need to stay hidden
Damian's system allows him to eat whatever he wants, especially weird stuff, without any kind of problems. He's still a vegetarian though and even tries to be one with earth food too (sometimes he doesn't understand what any of the meals actually are though and needs help from others to tell him if they involve meat or not)

DC x Marvel Fic Recs
@jas-per11 @letthedeadghostrest
Hello! I saw your post, and I've been meaning to rec some DC x Marvel fics anyways, so I'll do that here. I don't know what you've read, so I'll start with
Peter Parker / DC Series:
The Dark Matter Multiverse Series by @mysterycyclone
Dark Matter is the blueprint for most Peter Parker / DC fics, and it's also fucking fantastic. If you're reading a crossover and don't understand why, without explanation, Peter is talking to ghosts? Why he by default ends up living in a firehouse? Read Dark Matter.
Spider and Bat Friends Series by @emmacortana
So far, 12 well written and hilarious works from my all-time favorite author, Miss emmacortana. This, coming from someone with over 1,500 bookmarks. She's that good.
Bitsy and The Bats Series Series by @wibbwoby
Haven't read this one in a while, so I don't have much to say, but Rated T for Traumatized is an absolute classic.
Pizzaverse Series by Irisen
A heavier read, wherein Peter tries to keep his job, make rent, and has a lot of unfortunate run-ins with Gotham's rogues.
Peter & The BatBoys (Doctor AU) Series by @thepoppypress
Peter is the Wayne family's doctor. He has a... chaotic time. I've only read Part 1, but I am still including this here because it's a series.
Peter Parker needs a hug (From the BatFamily) Series by @true-blue-fool
Shorter fics about Peter bonding with the Batfamily. Part 3 is especially cute.
Spider and Bats Series by @superklutzkent
Peter Parker whump, featuring the Batfam. All of the whump.
Let's take a break and look at some DC x Marvel fics that DON'T feature Peter:
Steve Rogers: Man out of Time and Place Series by RavenclawAngel
After Civil War, Steve gets exiled to DCs earth and builds a new team.
from the nucleus flight Series by @blackkatmagic
Khonshu whisks (Comic) Moon Knight away to DC. Very well written and passionate. If it's not your thing, don't let the Bruce Wayne/Marc Spector tag dissuade you from reading; since it's unfinished, the ship hasn't happened yet, and it's too good of a fic to miss out on.
The Devil's in Gotham (Remastered) by @prince-link13
Matt Murdock moves to Gotham and befriends Jason Todd, his neighbor. Bruce Wayne/Matt Murdock
Marvel/DC Crossovers Series by @bamboozled-and-alone
What it says on the tin. My favorite, part 2, is Matt Murdock taking care of Damian Wayne.
Echolocation Series by Firecat23
Matt Murdock and the bats; though, part 6 does have Team Red, meaning Peter.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming:
Peter Parker slash fics:
Cassandra Cain/Peter Parker
Along Came a Spider Series by @rags-n-bones
Quiet Respite by @faeriekit
I'm not too far in this one yet, but it's Faeriekit, so it's bound to be good.
Peter Parker/Tim Drake, affectionately called redspider
a shining spider web by Selador
Needling by LaughingFreak
How dimension travel can lead to love. Series by Psychic_Queen05
My current Favorite Ongoing Peter Parker / DC Crossovers:
The Ones Burnt by This_is_lovin
After the events of No Way Home, Dr. Strange's magic sends Peter to Gotham. He wakes up in another boy's body, and has to deal with the consequences. Part one just ended with a bang, you all should be there for part two, it's gonna be awesome.
Arachnomaly by @songue85
The (Comic) Amazing Spider-Man, being neighborly in Gotham. Plus some sick art from the author.
time flies by (bye) by WHYISEVERYNAMETAKEN
Two difficult years after No Way Home, Peter ends up in Gotham, but with a whole lot of introspection. One chapter left; you better be there.
All of the rest, that didn't fit in the prior categories:
Unforeseen Consequences by @mysterycyclone
Gotta Get to Rock Bottom! by @emmacortana
Read the initial notes first.
Set Naked on Your Kingdom by sassydandelion
Peter's Gotham Debut by BlankGeode, Leeavy
This Was Home by @emmacortana
The Peter Parker Theory by nicfics
and even though we are strange and exquisitely scarred by Wingfeather6913
What happens in New York by @violent138
A Long Way From Home (And No Way Back) by Vivia_wants_boba
Ignorance is Death by No_idea_what_Im_doing_lmaooo
One Dead Spider by Miellonek
If you do check out any of these fics, always leave a comment. Authors love those, it’s like catnip to them.

Part Two? | Ask to be added to my taglist
Tumblr media
Lee Jihoon’s family is known as one of the most feared Mafia families in South Korea, his great grandparents having made a reputation for themselves that has been held up for generations.
Jihoon was born an only child and singular heir to the Lee fortune and the Lee legacy; having known from a young age that he would eventually end up being the leader of the Lee clan. He knew the family business was dangerous, and since being taught the ropes at 13, he knew that his relationships could be used against him from rival clans. This reason alone caused him to be cautious and callous with who he associated with. He only has two important people he would consider his friends.
His closest friend, Kwon Soonyoung also doubles as his right hand man. Both men grew up together due to Soonyoung’s father being close with Jihoon’s. Their frequent meetings caused the young men to be around eachother for long bouts of time, eventually being homeschooled together while their father’s talked business. For Jihoon, Soonyoung is the one and only person he could trust on this earth- time and time again, he has always proved his unchallenged loyalty to Jihoon and his father’s family. If Jihoon was irrational and unfiltered, Soonyoung was his voice of reason and his level-headed decision maker. To him, it was a match made in heaven.
The second person he considered his friend, or used to, was you. You came into both Jihoon and Soonyoung’s life at 8 years old, your family having been hired by Master Lee to work as live-in staff in their mansion. You were the only other child Jihoon and Soonyoung’s age, and despite Master Lee’s cold heart, he grew to treat you like his daughter and let Jihoon frequently spend his younger years playing with his two closest friends when they weren’t being homeschooled together until he was of age to get into the family business.
12 months ago, when Jihoon had just turned 25, Master Lee announced his soon to be retirement to his son. The only condition for Jihoon to step up to be head of the family business was simple but to Jihoon, was absolutely atrocious.
“I don’t understand why you think me marrying would be advantageous to the family, father.” He hisses, adjusting his chain around his neck, glaring at the stupid red rose, the Lee family staple, perfectly pinned to his lapel.
“It is not to a random woman, Jihoon.” Master Lee frowned.
“That makes it worse!” He barked, leaning his head back in frustration.
“Jihoon. You have to know that no one can be trusted in this business. I am not allowing you to marry outside of who we trust. They can slither their way into your heart and when you are at your most vulnerable, they take everything out from under you. If the enemy knows you’re committed to someone already, it keeps them from hurting us from the inside.”
“Yeah, it also makes Y/N the number one target to the enemy and they will try and swipe her away from under our noses!” He’s yelling now.
He would never admit it to anyone, but he cares too much for you. You’re too good to be associated with the dastardly business that is associated with being in the mafia; you’re a good hearted person who happily serves the Lee family alongside your just as good parents. You’re the one good thing that Jihoon has left, and he’d be damned if he couldn’t protect you.
“It’s not like you’re going to be parading her out for missions and stake outs.” Master Lee frowns. “She is only for the parties. So others know that you’re a committed man that will not waver. I guarantee you she will be protected. She will be treated like a queen in here, and she won’t ever have to see the dark side of the business. Son, I promise you.”
For 12 months, Jihoon, in the public eye was the perfect model husband with you. He stayed by your side faithfully at galas and parties, parading you around with a look of what was perceived as adoration by others. Behind closed doors however, Jihoon treated you like a ghost. Long gone was your once closest friend who you stayed up late with to binge watch stupid movies, playing video games and pranks on Soonyoung. The only thing that remained was a quiet man that only greeted you for one meal a day, to his insistence for the sake of ‘normalcy.’ In your opinion, it felt anything but. Your attempts at conversion were shut down with one worded answers or sometimes none at all, and over time, you grew to enjoy your meal with your husband in silence before going about your day around the Lee mansion alone.
Jihoon thought his father’s plan was working. For 12 months, his wife was safe and protected and never got caught up with any of the mafia business. He was in alliance with most rival clans and worked out plans and deals to work for the foreseeable future.
Sadly for Jihoon, Master Lee was full of shit.
Tumblr media
Jihoon is frantic. The staff had alerted him while out for a meeting with an ally clan that you had been injured. They were intentionally vague with details, knowing their boss would fly off the handle at the extent to what your injuries were.
“She’s at home.” Jihoon hears Soonyoung’s voice over the phone.
“What the fuck happened, Soonyoung.” He is sure he is making his driver break at least 10 different road laws right now to get back to the mansion. He makes a mental note to contact the local police and send some generous gift baskets.
“The guards don’t know. I’m trying to get it out of them, but no luck yet.”
“She shouldn’t have been out unsupervised.” Jihoon winces, rubbing at his temples. “Tell them if they don’t give you an honest answer by the time I’m back, I will have their tongues.”
“Just go to her right now, Hoon-ah.”
Tumblr media
Marching into the living room, Jihoon makes his presence known by the heavy thuds of his boots on the tiled floor. His eyes scan the room until they finally land on you, his childhood friend and arranged wife, sitting anxiously on the couch. He feels his eye twitch at the sight of no guards in sight, you having been left alone since you have returned.
You lift your head up shakily, your eyes widening at the sight of your husband. His long hair, usually sported in a bun atop his head is now strewn about and falling out of the elastic holding it together, suit jacket scrunched and twisted, red rose nowhere to be found. You’re astonished, having grown so used to seeing your husband with his perfect red rose on his lapel at all times. What you didn’t know that after having found out about your capture, he thrown it to the ground in frustration of his worst fears coming true.
“Jihoon?” You blink nervously.
This is the first time you’ve seen him properly (minus your daily lunches) for maybe a month. He stares intently across the room at you, scanning your body. You’re cradling your left wrist in your hand, a bruise in the perfect shape of a hand print forming around your wrist. His eyes lift to your face, his blood boiling at the sight of a small cut across your cheek, your right eye swelling up and starting to turn purple.
“I-I’m sorry,” you stutter, biting down on your lip. “I know I shouldn’t have-“
You flinch at the sight of Jihoon striding forward, only to pause when he walks straight past you and into the kitchen, causing your shoulders to deflate. You were stupid to think your best friend had come back for only a moment. You sink sadly into the couch, curling up slowly.
Your head stays facing down at the floor as you run your fingertip over the hand print on your wrist, wincing and hissing as you press a little too hard. You sigh after a moment, moving to stand up before you pause at the sight of Jihoon’s expensive dress shoes directly in front of you.
You look up nervously at him as he reaches out, delicately taking your wrist, face neutral as he runs his fingers gently over the bruise just like you had done, eyebrows furrowing. You shiver slightly, this being the first physical contact you have felt from your husband in months. Next, he reaches forward and tucks a stray hair behind your cheek before examining the darkening bruise over your eye. At this, you see his eyes darken, heaving a heavy sigh through his nose.
“Who the fuck did this to you.” His voice is soft as he eyes you.
“I-I…”
“I need to know who did this.” He pleads.
“It was Hwang.” You whimper.
His jaw clenches. Hwang has sworn vengeance against the Lee family ever since Master Lee cut ties and alliances with the Hwang’s over his unethical practices. In Hwang’s words, he wanted to poison the perfect garden of roses that Master Lee built.
“H-he said it was a warning..” you can’t look Jihoon in the face. “T-to keep your wife on a leash or else something could happen. Jihoon, I’m so sorry, I really shouldn’t have gone out, I didn’t want to cause any more trouble.” You’re crying softly now, wincing at the pain that your swelling is causing.
You tense up as you feel something cool delicately rest on your cheek, opening your eyes to see your husband holding an ice pack gently to your face. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as he moves you so you’re sitting down on the couch once more.
“You stay here until Soonyoung gets back to look after you, okay?” He instructs you as you just stare at him, bewildered. “Do you hear me, Y/N?” You nod your head slowly as you cradle the ice pack to your cheek. “Good.”
You watch Jihoon turn around and march back towards the front door of the mansion, pointing to Mr Kim, one of the guards who has been in Jihoon’s family for years. “Make sure no one comes inside this mansion except for me and Soonyoung. You guard her with your life until he gets here.” The man nods his head sternly as he moves to stand in the doorway between the living room and the entryway.
“J-Jihoon? Where are you going?” You ask nervously as your husband adjusts the gun holster around his waist, his voice cold and deadly, sending a shiver down your spine.
“I’m going to kill the fucker who thought he could touch my wife and get away with it.”
And with that, the door slams behind him, leaving you alone with Mr Kim eyeing the door sternly.
You stay anxiously in the living room for what feels like an eternity, waiting to hear anything from Jihoon or his guards. You jolt at the sound of the door after only 15 minutes of sitting in silence, breathing a sigh of relief as you see Soonyoung rush inside and run straight towards you.
“Soon…” you whimper as he meets you halfway, immediately pulling you close and hugging you to his chest.
“Fuck, Y/N, I’m sorry I wasn’t there.” He breathes out, shaky. “The one fucking day I had to go run some errands…”
You hate the fact that Hwang probably waited for Soonyoung to be away from you to strike.
“Soon, it’s fine…” you whisper, wincing as he pulls away to look down at your face, closely examining your swelling eye.
“It’s not fine, look at you!”
“I’m still alive, aren’t I?” You whisper, and he just sighs with frustration, leading you to the couch and sitting you up against the cushions, laying a fluffy blanket over you.
“You’re going to sit here and we are going to watch some tv until Jihoon-ah gets back, okay?” He settles down beside you.
“Soonyoung, you can go have a shower or eat or something...” Your voice is low as he scrolls through random movies to play on Netflix.
“Nope.” He made a promise to stay with you until Jihoon gets back, and he will stay true to his word. Eating and washing up can wait.
Tumblr media
“Y/N-ah.” Soonyoung glances at his phone after a few hours. The ice pack against your cheek is now lukewarm, your legs having shaken non-stop since you’d been forced to sit down.
“Hm..” you hum in response.
“Jihoon-ah will be home in 5 minutes. He asked for me to give you both some privacy and take care of some clean-up. Will you be okay with Mr Kim watching you?”
“Okay.” You respond nervously, teeth sinking into your bottom lip as Soonyoung gently touches your good cheek with his finger.
“I’ll be in the other room making calls if you get scared between now and then. Okay?”
“Thank you, Soonie.” You whisper, looking up at him with a grateful smile.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles back before turning around and walking down the hall, leaving you alone once more as the panic begins to rise in your body.
You’re lucky you don’t have to wait long, as true to Soonyoung’s word, Jihoon steps inside his mansion and into the living room not even 5 minutes later, heaving a sigh. When you spot him, you rush quickly to him, immediately noticing the blood on his shirt and causing you to panic even more.
“Oh god.. you’re bleeding, what have I done? Your father will have me for this.” You quickly try to wipe the blood off his shirt (which you’re relieved to realize isn’t his). Jihoon surprises you both as he reaches forward to take your injured wrist again, pulling you to him and wrapping his arms tight around your waist.
He pulls your head into the crook of his neck, squeezing you to him as his chin rests on top of your head, grip tight on your shirt. You’re shaking before you just melt into his embrace, holding onto his jacket tight as he hums.
“Are you okay.” When you just nod, he pulls back to look into your face. “I need to hear it from you, Y/N. Please… just humor me.”
“Yeah, I’m okay, Hoonie.” You breathe out with wide eyes.
Why does he look so scared?
He sighs with finality before he pulls you back to him, hugging you tight for the first time since he was forced to hold you at your wedding over 12 months ago.
“We will need more security.” He mumbles to you as he holds you tight. “Guards at every post. When we go out, when you’re out in the garden, everywhere. It’s clear they know your schedule so we need to throw them off your scent.” He is talking a mile a minute as he keeps you close to his chest, afraid you’d slip away. “As a precaution, I will have guards sweep the house for any bugs they could have planted. Tonight, we will sleep in the safe house. Is that okay with you, Y/N?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.” You whisper, your face buried in his shirt. You don’t want to leave his side as much as he doesn’t too - this being the most affection you’ve gotten from someone in 12 months.
Tumblr media
“Fuck.” Jihoon didn’t account for the fact his safe house only had one king size bed. “You can take the bed, okay… I can take the couch.”
“Don’t be silly.” You hum, already dragging him to the bed. “We’re both adults here. I think we can handle sharing a bed. We used to in school, right Hoonie?”
“I mean yeah, but we weren’t married then.”
“We’re only married on paper. Why are you being so iffy?” You laugh, wincing as your smile hurts your bruising cheek. Without thinking, he reaches out to cup your face worriedly, examining the bruise before rushing out to the kitchen, returning a few moments later with a small ice pack to press to your cheek.
“I’d feel more comfortable if you were close, Hoon. Please.” You ask quieter now as he rocks awkwardly on his heels.
“Only until you’re asleep.” He bargains, and you nod quickly.
“Deal.”
After an awkward intermission of you both getting ready to share the bed for the first time since your wedding, you’re finally drifting off, curled up beside your husband as he sits up against the bed head, stiff as a board in sweatpants and a large jumper. Jihoon lays on top of the blankets so he can make an easy get away when you fall into a deep sleep.
He’s about to up and leave as your breathing evens out, thinking you’re asleep when he feels you shift. You scoot closer, hand finding his as your head nestles comfortably against his shoulder. You visibly relax at his warmth, your shaky hands slowing to a stop as you essentially glue yourself to his side. He tenses up, looking down at you with wide eyes as you finally fall asleep. He frowns deeply at the sight of your bruise showing before aggressively sighing to himself and wrapping his free arm around you to hold you against his chest. He is unable to resist your cuteness. That, and he wants to protect you, of course.
Jihoon refuses to sleep a wink in case someone tries to break in, but after hour four of him stroking your arm delicately with his cheek resting on top of your forehead, he feels himself drifting off.
When he wakes up, he sees you’re still cuddled up to him, but almost jumps out of his skin when he sees Soonyoung standing at the foot of the bed with a knowing smirk on his face.
“It took you long enough to treat your wife like she is your wife.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Jihoon hisses out as quietly as possible to not wake you, his cheeks bright red. “If she wakes up, I’ll have your head.”
“I’m sure you will.” He winks.
“Kwon Soonyoung I swear to god if my wife wasn’t sleeping against me right now, you’d be six feet under.”
“Mhm~” he sing songs, stepping out the bedroom door.
“If you tell anyone, you’re dead.”

You can lay blame for this second ask at @hoifne 's feet, I saw their comment on the post and had to:
How did folks react to the moon landing?
"You're ready? No Big Regrets?" Renji asks. He always asks. He'd done hundreds of Konso rituals now that he was doing his mandatory tour of duty in the living world, but he never wants them to feel 'routine', so he talks to the ghosts. Hypes them up a bit for the afterlife, tries to keep his heart in it.
Especially when it's a kid.
"Well, it's not really a big deal..." The ghost Suichi considers. He was maybe ten or eleven years old. Thick prescription glasses, face round with puppy fat, very loved. Love won't stop a freak electrical accident though. Young Suichi is handling his sudden departure really well, all things considered, so maybe love does stop despair. "-but its a bit of a shame that if there's no TV in the afterlife, I won't be able to watch the moon landing."
"Yeah, we're a bit behind the times, but I'm sure one of the mad geniuses in the 12th will invent one sooner than late-" Renji grins ruffling the boy's hair before the rest of the sentence registers. "-The What Landing?"
"The Moon Landing!" Suichi lights up with excitement. "They just launched the rocket yesterday! But in just three days, man will walk on the moon!"
"...The Moon?" Renji blinks, bewildered.
"Yeah!"
Renji points up over his shoulder into the sky, gripping the boy's shoulder, eyes wide. "THE MOON IN THE FUCKING SKY?"
---
The lights of the Fifth division offices reflect blankly off of Captain Aizen's glasses as he attempts to process the news. He is entirely still, save for his eyebrows which are writhing like overcaffienated caterpillars, unable to settle on an emotion to convey.
"The Moon?" Lieutenant Ichimaru squints at Renji even harder than usual, pointing up out the window behind him. "The Moon in the fucking sky?"
"Yeah!" Renji spread his hands. "I didn't believe it either but the humans have managed to work out some neat trick with the way the world turns to like, throw the spaceship like a slingshot..?" he tried to explain.
"So, so there's three guys in a boat-" Captain Aizen tried again, reaching up under his glasses to rub the bridge of his nose.
"It's really more like a sealed metal tube, but they call it a Space Ship because it does sorta sail through space..." Renji tried to explain, holding up the newspaper from the living world he'd brought back to substantiate his claims and also provide helpful images to explain what was happening.
"So there's three guys in a metal tube and they... threw it into the sky so hard that instead of falling it started flying instead?" Aizen tried. "How do they even throw something that hard without Kido?"
"So the men are up in this little itty bitty bit at the top that looks like a cap on a vaccine needle-" Renji pointed at the image of the Apollo 11 rocket. "-All the rest of this is the uh. enormous amount of extremely coordinated high explosives they used to launch it. The. The whole thing is like... It's a little over three hundred fifty shaku and only 12 shaku of that is where the humans are. The rest is um. Air they smooshed so hard it became liquid and then they set that on fire and look at the picture you can see the kaboom!" Renji tried to explain, pushing the paper across Aizen's desk for his captain to read.
Aizen certainly pointed his face at the image and accompanying article, but 'read' may have been a bit beyond him at the moment.
"Oh, is that all it took?" Ichimaru hummed with interest. "Well fuck, why haven't we done that?"
"Oh yes, how very silly that the humans have beaten us at the trifling matter of FLINGING OURSELVES INTO SPACE, WHAT THE *HELL* ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ICHIMARU??" Aizen objected.
"Well like. Idea's sound. Moon goes around the earth, so a smaller thing should too. And we can absolutely make a sealed metal container and kaboom bigger than that." Gin shrugged, as though this were plainly obvious. "Betchya the clown that runs the twelfth has the stuff laying around- we got a meeting with him later today anyway, why not ask?"
"Oh sure, that's a great Idea!" Aizen beamed. "Why hello Kurotsuchi-taicho, curious news from the human world- do you think you could spare a few parts and several tons of explosives to send some guys for a stroll on the moon?"
There was a moment of silence where Renji and Gin shared an awkward glance (or at least, Renji gave meaningful look to the narrow slits where his lieutenant-commander's eyes theoretically were).
"...he'd agree to that in a heartbeat, if he hasn't started work on his own Spaceboat already." Aizen groaned.
---
"No." Grunted Mayuri.
"No? Why not?" Aizen asked, head cocked to the side like a confused spaniel.
"Look, what the old man doesn't know about budget expenditures won't hurt him!" Gin smiled encouragingly. "Think of all the scientific data you'd get to research!"
"What the old man finds out about budget expenditures after the fact can and will hurt me." Mayuri growled. "It's not cookie money, kitting an expedition to the living world to engineer a spaceship with atomic matter instead of Reishi- No, much more efficient to let the humans do it for us and poach the date from them."
"...Why would we need to go to the Living world?" Aizen blinked, confused. "I can see the moon from the window right here?" Aizen pointed out the window of Kurotsuchi's office.
"What? That moon? You can't go to that moon!" The clownish chemical engineer cackled."
Aizen and Ichimaru stared at him blankly.
"Is. Is the moon here different than the one in the living world?" Aizen asked, bewildered.
"Different? It doesn't exist!" Mayuri laughed, waving his hand at them.
Aizen and Ichimaru stared at him, then leaned back in their seats, looking out the window at the moon, which still looked as physical and present as it ever did.
"...Oh don't tell me you didn't know." Mayuri frowned, pouting. "No, spirit world doesn't have a moon. The thing up in the sky is a Tulpa- there's a "moon" because everyone who comes to spirit world thinks there should be one, and there's so much ambient spiritual energy even weak souls can exert some force on the nature of reality and when millions of them are all certain there should be a moon, a moon manifests. Or at least, a thing that looks like a moon. Doesn't act like one, changes size and skips around it's phases all the time and if it really were a round object in space, that's NOT what a crescent moon would look like."
Aizen and Ichimaru looked back out the window at the "Moon", whose crescent arced a full three quarters of the alleged satellite's circumference.
"Seriously? this is some really basic stuff." Mayuri glared at them in disappointment. "You never noticed that the moon is always visible out any random window at night, no matter what time it is? It doesn't even go east-to-west more than half the time!"
"But. But we have a lunar calendar..?" Aizen muttered, an edge of genuine distress in his voice.
"Oh yeah, the moon *used* to be regular as clockwork- everyone literally set their watches to it." Mayuri shrugged. "Then sometime about eh, two and a half, three thousand years ago? Right around the same time the first captain-class spirits started appearing, the moon started doing this 'Full Moon Thrice A Month If it Feels Like It' and 'Visible At Improbable Angles' nonsense."
Aizen's eyes were wide and Gin's very nearly open with alarm.
"That's uh- that's terrifying?" Aizen sputtered, now outright frightened.
"Yeah, anybody know what coulda caused that?" Gin muttered.
"The going theory is that the precipitation of a new class of spiritually hyperpotent souls like us has caused disproportionate tugs on the desired appearence of the the "Moon", but that's only a theory- my predecessor's predecessor once attempted to send a camera to the 'Moon' for a closer look, but it never actually *got* any closer." Mayuri explained, casually inspecting his fingernails- he seemed to be growing out the middle one for some godforsaken reason. "-Your theoretical starboat would likely far worse."
"...Okay but that's worse. You understand how that's worse, right?" Aizen demanded and Mayuri waved him off.
"No, no hit makes sense-" Gin nodded, and Aizen glared at his lieutenant. "Think about it! There's what, three and a half billion human on earth? Millions die every day, but only a couple hundred ever turn up every day at the intake queue in the 7th, and nearly everyone is from just the one part of Japan. We're one afterlife of many- ugh, could you imagine if the missionaries were sent here?- anyway, our world is nowhere NEAR as big at the Living World, so the moon-moon is just a geographical feature in the living world, and there's only a couple million people living here. We got disproportionate swing, so we pull on the collective conciousness more. It's fine!"
"That's AWFUL!" Aizen shouted, dismayed.
"I mean I think we all understand God is an Asshole, but what are you gonna do about it?" Mayuri shrugged before tapping on the crate beside his desk. "-Anyway, do you want these Polio Vaccines for the rukongai outreach program our not?"
"I- yes. Please." Aizen muttered.
"Good man, sign here." Mayuri tapped the sheet on his desk. As Aizen tried to read over the provisions release paperwork, the small "Electronic Mailer" on Mayuri's desk pinged. "Oh, the word got out- Kyoraku-taicho wants to hold another moon-viewing party for the occasion. Do me a favor and attend so you can explain to him why we can't go to our 'moon' for me? I don't want to go, and I really don't want to explain it to him through a hangover either."
"If you don't wanna go Boss I'll stand in for you. Promises to be a real riot." Gin grinned.
"Yes, you have your young friend, don't you? Miss Matsumoto?" Aizen smiled fondly at his second-in-command.
"Oh, she probably already got her invite- she an' Miss Nan- er, lieutenant Ise are real pals from the academy." Gin laughed. "Nah, I was gonna drag old blind bones along."
"...Captain Tousen?" Aizen asked, befuddled. "Whatever for?"
"Stars ain't exactly braille, y'know?" Gin explained, wiggling his fingers. "He knows even less than we do an' I wanna watch Rangiku and Kyoraku try'n 'splain the whole thing to him." Gin grinned.
"Sounds lovely! Take your shit and get out of my office." Mayuri threatened.
---
Renji exhaled, still bewildered, laying on his back on the grassy hill just outside the 2nd division training grounds, staring up at the moon as it rose opposite the sunset behind him. Or, maybe not? There had been some lecture about how the moon in spirit world wasn't a moon back at the academy that he didn't really remember-
"You sound like you're in the throes of a moral conundrum Red." Shuuhei teased, looking up from the strange contraption he was setting up.
"Huh?" Renji blinked. "Oh, no I'm just- Those guys in the Spaceship gotta be somethin' else, going to die thousands of miles from home."
"What? The Astronauts? They'll be fine! -Probably." Shuuhei laughed. "They're definitely insane, getting in that contraption at all, but they still gotta come home with all the rocks and whatever they get from the moon for the lab techs to look at."
"...How the hell are they getting back?" Renji frowned, rolling up onto his elbow to frown at his senpai. "I thought they blew up all the rocket getting off the planet?"
"They got a bitty rocket in the lunar landing craft that will get them between their ship and the lunar surface, and then they will angle the ship a bit and the moon will fling them back to earth the way earth flung them at the moon." Shuuei explained, not looking up from the weird bass-drum looking object he was messing with.
Renji opened his mouth, realized his friend probably understood it way better than he did, closed his mouth, shrugged, and changed topics. "So what is that thing you had me haul up here?"
"It's uhhh... Experimental. Haven't got a name for it yet." Shuuhei muttered, placing a level on top of it and frowning at the bubble before adjusting the legs bolted awkwardly to the side of the drum. "-But with all this excitement about the Lunar Landing, I realized Tousen-Taicho is... I mean he gets left out of a lotta stuff, y'know? But it's not like he can see the stars, or the spirit-moon, and I don't think he really understands orbital mechanics-"
"I sure fuckin' don't." Renji muttered.
"Yeah, because you're the kind of moron who put a ham sandwich in a VCR-" Shuuhei rolled his eyes.
"That was ONE TIME, and Matsumoto Senpai told me it was a Panini Press!" Renji sulked.
"-and then pressed "Fast Forward", but Tousen is actually smart as hell- I'm the one who can't explain it without gestures he can't see." Shuuhei continued. "...but I can use a camera obscura and reiryoku-sensitive film to sort of take an old exposure image of the night sky. I'm hoping that if I treat the exposed film right, that the light and dark parts will turn into different textures for him to read, like a braille sky."
"Oh." Renji muttered. "That's really nice of you actually."
"I mean, we'll see if it works." Shuuhei shugged, examining the level again. "Hand me the allen wrenches- What about your boss?"
"Captain Aizen? Uh- honestly? He seems a little freaked out by all this and I saw him fuckin' slam the newspaper into his wastebasket when he got back from the twelth." Renji winced. "He's weird like that. Sweet as cake most of the time but then there's these weird flashes of anger... and I'm not sure how much longer he's gonna be my boss."
"As in you got ambitions, or you think he's gonna get fired?" Shuuhei asked, staring at the level again.
"As in 'Tetsuzaemon Iba got in another brawl with his mother about him only being fourth seat when she made captain, and Liuetenant Madarame asked me if I'd updated my resume recently." Renji winced.
"Woof. Talk about a lateral promotion." Shuuhei winced. "Still, the pay raise would be nice. You could afford to take your girl Rukia somewhere up to her brother's standards!"
"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" Renji snapped, rolling over and jumping to his feet. "-It's -I'm sorry. It's kinda complicated." Renji sighed.
Shuuhei was silent for a minute as Renji sat back down on the grass, face in his hands. After a minute of fine-tuning the drum to keep it level, he spoke up. "You're more than good enough."
"Huh?" Renji jolted. "Oh, yeah- I'd be doing all the eleventh's paperwork but there's no way it's worse than the fucking rice subsidies accounting board-"
"That's not what I meant." Shuuhei glared.
"...I know." Renji groaned. "It's just. It's complicated, okay?"
"If you say so." Shuuhei shrugged. "Alright, hand me the flat box- thanks. It'll be ready for exposure in a minute, and I want to get it done before those clouds roll in." He gestured at the distant thunderheads threatening to bloom into a summer storm on the edge of the city.
The process was quick- the shielded plate went into the gap under the drum, and the light of the night sky was reflected onto it from a pinhole in the top. Once the metal plates were pulled back, it needed a few minutes to pick up enough light, before Shuuhei pushed the metal shutters back in and locked the plate in darkness until it could be developed.
"It's for taking pictures of the stars, right?" Renji asked as Shuuhei started disassembling the camera. "You could call that plate an Astrograph."
"Hah! Futuristic. I like it!" Shuuhei grinned. "C'mon and help me with this thing before the punishment squad turns up to kick my ass for having a camera within a mile of the second."

Visions in Volantis
Pairing: Rhaenyra Targaryen x fem!reader (HOTD)
WC: 1.3k
12 Days of Smuff-Future & Face-sitting
Warnings: Oral, blood magic, sex magic
The princess seeks out your guidance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uncertainty hung heavy in the air. The threat of war loomed on the horizon. Blood certain to spill. This is what brought Princess Rhaenyra to the Black Walls of Eastern Volantis. The named heir of Westeros sought your help. You alone could tell her what the Gods had in store.
The fan you held did little to ward away the heat as you were carried to the gates by a palanquin. Sweat beaded down the necks and backs of the men who carried you. The gates opened as your palanquin was lowered. The earth scorched under your sandal-clad feet. Princess Rhaenyra stepped through, followed closely by a knight in a billowing white cloak. He must be stifling, you thought, as you fluttered your fan.
“I welcome you, Princess Rhaenyra, to Volantis. You shall be treated with civility and be well cared for during your visit,” you informed her.
“I offer my sincere gratitude for your assistance,” she replied, her silver hair braided high around her head, and she wore a lightweight indigo dress made of the finest Qartheen silk. Jeweled and golden rings decorated her fingers. The intense heat caused a hazy shimmer to fill the air, making her Valyrian beauty appear more ethereal as her lilac eyes sparkled in the sun.
“You will ride back with me to our quarters. Your man may follow us,” you instructed.
The bare skin of her shoulder brushed against yours, making a spark run through you. She smelled of embers, no doubt due to her dragon. You offered her some relief with your wicker fan, which she accepted with a gracious smile.
“I suppose you are accustomed to the heat,” she murmured.
“One never grows accustomed to this heat,” you teased.
You resided in a modest palace within the Black Walls, where only the Old Blood could reside. Your family could long trace their bloodline back to Old Valyria, and while most were descendants of foot soldiers and guards, your family had descended from a line of dragon riders. Those were the tales passed down through the generations, and you assumed it held the explanation of your gift. Dragon dreamers had been prominent when Old Valryia was most powerful, and you had been born with the sight. That was the reason the Targaryen princess sought you out.
The servants placed sweet, red wine, peeled oranges and limes, flatbread with olives, and a cold soup made of vibrant, purple sweet beats, a delicacy of Volantis, on the long, ornate table.
“Please, princess, help yourself,” you smiled, gesturing toward the food before sliding an orange slice between your lips.
“Many thanks. Might I have some water brought for my guard?” she requested.
“Yes, I’ll arrange that at once,” you replied, having the servants fetch it.
You let her indulge in the food and wine before approaching the topic, which hung heavy in the blistering air.
“You wish to know what lies ahead. The future of House Targaryen hangs in the balance,” you stated.
Her purple eyes flickered to briefly meet your gaze before she gave a simple nod.
“You must be willing to join me in this journey, princess, even if my ways seem strange,” you informed her.
Rhaenyra swallowed down more wine before clearing her throat. “I am most willing.”
“Then tonight, we shall begin.”
Trepidation flooded Rhaenyra’s purple eyes as she watched the eerie glow of the candles illuminate the walls. You sat in the middle of the room, a sigil of Old Volantis drawn beneath you.
“Sit with me, princess.”
Her palm pressed into yours as she joined, crossing her legs beneath her.
“I assume Targaryens aren’t afraid of spilling blood?” you questioned, lifting a blade into your free hand.
“I’ve spilled plenty of blood over the years. It does not frighten me,” she assured you.
You nodded before making a clean slice across her palm, letting it drip into a golden cup with a curved snake for a stem. With closed eyes, you murmured ancient Volantenes. Slowly, the blood began to boil, and a crimson smoke swirled around you.
“A house divided, blood will spill, and the dragons will dance,” you whispered as visions began to fill your head. “Many will be lost, including you and your children. Fate can shift. The prince who was promised.”
“How are you aware of that prophecy?” Rhaenyra murmured, her voice tense.
“The Gods have whispered it to me.”
You opened your eyes as the smoke faded away to find her trembling and clutching her hands to her chest. “H…how may this destruction be avoided? I have already lost my father and my daughter.”
“A son will be lost if sent to Storm’s End, and your grief will consume you. Make certain your son does not make the journey.”
Her lips turned pale, and sweat beaded across her forehead. “You must show me how to stop it!” She wailed loudly and grasped your hands tightly. The way her lower lip quivered reminded you of a vulnerable young girl. Destruction and loss can make the strongest crumble beneath its weight.
“No need to fret, princess. I shall perform my magic.”
As the days passed, you grew fond of the future queen, locked away with her in your private chambers when not sharing a meal together. You marveled at the softness of her silver hair, bathed in moon glow. You enjoyed when the sun lit her lilac eyes, making them glow with Targaryen fire. Your fingers would trace over the sweat beaded across her bare arms as she took to wearing Volantis fashion to ward off the heat. Though she possessed her own, her skin hot to the touch as if flames bubbled beneath her flesh. You grew to enjoy her scent of burnt embers and faded roses. She was worming her way into your heart.
One fateful afternoon, as the sun scorched the sky and earth, your lips found hers. Soft, pink rosebuds parted easily for your tongue as your fingers gripped the violet fabric around her hips. Lips left bruised before you pulled away, pressing your mouth to the shell of her ear.
“Allow me to drink from you, princess. It will unlock the visions swirling in the back of my head,” you whispered, feeling her skin pebble under your palms.
A throaty moan escaped her. “Please do.”
Your teeth nipped at the soft curve of her neck before peeling her dress down her body until she lay bare before you. Your tongue swirled over her peaked nipples before kissing your way down her belly. You pulled away to sprawl onto your back on top of the black symbol meant to beckon the Old Gods, then guided Rhaenyra to sit upon your face. Her pale thighs quivered as your tongue swiped over her wet cunt. One of her hands fisted in your hair as she rocked against your mouth, spurring you on while your tongue explored her.
Sweet dragon nectar coated your tongue before wrapping your lips around her delicate pearl. Your fingers dug into her hips, imagining the purple bruises that might bloom across her pale skin. Her moans grew deeper, more wanton, as she reached her peak. As she burst against your lips, you closed your eyes as visions flooded your head. Visions of what would come should the same path be followed. Many deaths, a house divided, dragons falling, traitors, kinslayers, black, green, the blood of sons and daughters, and Rhaenyra screaming as flames devoured her. The putrid stench of scorched flesh filled your nostrils. You drank her down, a sticky, shiny residue left on your lips and chin as you panted beneath her and stroked her soft, clammy flesh.
“The Gods have shown me the future, princess, and now I will help you. It’s not too late to change the fate in store,” you whispered as she scooted away from your face and settled her naked body on top of yours.
“Thank you,” she whispered, tucking her face into the curve of your neck as your hands soothingly rubbed her back.
“The realm’s delight will turn into a golden beloved queen.”

Successor
Requests by @auranightangle
Here is a link to the request but it is full of spoilers so I suggest reading the fic first.
Wordcount: 7.8K+
Masterlist
Description: Willy is excited to finally meet the ticket finders and his future successor, but as the past collides with the present maybe he will find something even more important.
A/N: Ah it is finally here. And it only took over two months. I don't know why this fic was so hard to write. I suppose the request was so thought out I didn't know how to make it my own, but after quitting writing and coming back I am pleased with it. I definitely want to do a part two, maybe some past smut with Wonka and the reader who is the past lover.
Warning: Angst. Frantic and manic Wonka. DadWonka. Slight fluff. Mention of abuse. Fic is in the third person from Wonka's POV mostly. Lots of flashbacks.

“Big Day, Big Day, Big Day,” Willy repeated over and over as he got dressed with the help of the Oompa-Loompas. “Massive day indeed. I need to be at my absolute best. Need to make a good first impression of my future successor,” he continued to rant to himself.
He was nervous. How could he not be nervous he was letting people into his factory; It was like letting people into his head into his heart. It’s been over a decade, and he wanted to keep it that way, but he wouldn’t be young forever. As much as he wished he could do this forever, he learned a long time ago that nothing lasts forever.
“Okay, Mr. Wonka,  I have a wonderful idea for you.” His love said walking into his workspace.
His attention was immediately given to her “What is it my taffy twist?” He asked. Always happy to hear one of her ideas.
She giggled at his chosen nickname. It always seemed to change, but the theme was always the same, a candy of some sort. But she never minded. “So. I was thinking of everlasting gobstoppers. Think about it, never getting any smaller. Changing flavors, the longer you have it. And while it might not be the best selling, it will be nice for children from poorer homes. A piece of candy to have almost forever. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
Willy stood from his chair, humming lowly as he tapped his chin in thought. She stared at him with wide hopeful eyes, rocking on her heels waiting for his thoughts. This was something they always did when one had an idea about a new candy.
He hid his smirk at her eager attitude and began walking in circles around her. When she started humming sadly, he grabbed her hands and gave them two quick squeezes.
“My chocolate delight that is the best idea I have ever heard.” He replied, smiling widely.
A similar smile broke out on her face, then she threw herself into his arms. Willy caught her around the waist and spun her around the room. “Oh Willy, you had me so worried. I thought my little heart was going to burst out of my chest.”
Willy giggled kissing her sweetly. “Nonsense, my candy cane, your heart is always safe with me around,” he said, causing her heart to flutter in her chest and warmth to pool in her cheeks.
She leaned forward and pressed another loving kiss to his lips. “Your sweet words have gotten you out of this one, Mr. Wonka.”
“Like my candy, I am always overflowing with sweetness and especially for you, my lovebug,” he said, stroking her cheek lovingly.
“Ah, that is not a candy. What gives, Willy, losing your touch?” she teased.
“Never, just distracted,” he whispered, kissing her.
“Good morning starshine. The Earth says hello,” Willy grinned at all the children and their parents standing in front of his factory.
He scanned the faces of them all, trying to see if maybe they were here to steal his recipes. Each parent looked ranged from bored to excited to alarmed, all things he could handle.
He then moved his eyes to the children. He had to keep a look off his face when he saw some of them, the ones that he knew would not be fit for his factory, too spoiled brats that would run his company into the ground.
One little girl about 12 years old is alone and Willy narrows his eyes slightly. “You there, little girl? Where are your parents?”
She was startled when she gained his attention, but she didn’t let that lack of a guardian scare her. “Ah, the guardian seemed optional, as it mentions it is to keep us in order, but I can assure you disorder is something I heavily frown upon, thus bringing  a guest seemed like more of a burden for you, Mr. Wonka.”
She framed it as if she were doing him a favor but, in truth, she was alone because, well, she was just alone. She had no guardian to stay with her. Her aunt only took care of her for the money, the father was gone, and her dear mother would be here if she could be.
“No taste for disorder, you say,” Wonka said, moving closer to her.
“No taste at all. The only taste I have is for chocolate and knowledge from a great chocolatier,” she replied.
“Knowledge to steal?” He asked.
“Knowledge to learn from. I like making sweets myself, it’s a hobby of mine I used to do so with my mother,” she corrected, not going into too many details.
Willy regarded her for a few moments. Something about her seemed familiar, something reminded him of someone, but he couldn’t quite pull the memory of who. With a shrug, he tightened his hold on his cane before addressing the whole group.
“Well, it is 10:03. We are behind schedule, so let’s not have any more delays if you all follow me,” and without waiting, he started walking only to pause glancing at the girl. “You child stay close to me, I’ll look out for you,” and then he started walking away.
She quickly jogged to be next to him with everyone else trailing behind them.
“My name is Lollie, by the way,” she said once she was next to him.
“I don’t see why I should know that” he commented not sparing her another glance.
After the introductions in the front room and dropped their coats and they were off to see the first room. Lollie glanced back at all the other children and wrinkled her nose in distaste.
Awful children, she could just tell from looking at them and she saw most of their television interviews. They were here for selfish reasons, but thing again, so was Lollie. She wanted to learn and tour the factory because making chocolate and making candy made her feel closer to her mother.
“I’m Charlie,” one of the boys said approaching her.
“I know we just introduced ourselves, but I’m Lollie,” she laughed.
“Right right. I just wanted to introduce myself to you. Everyone seems to be…” He trailed off.
“Horrid?” she suggested.
Charlie laughed but nodded in agreement. “That wasn’t the world I was thinking but it works. I worked over to one and she just held up her hand and said, ‘Poor next’.”
Lollie gasped. “Awful. I think horrid was too nice a word for her,” she said. Lollie came from money, but that had nothing to do with who she was as a person. She was born into a family with money, but she still knew kindness and manners. To not speak to someone because of their financial situation was mental in her opinion.
“Everyone listens up,” Willy said calling everyone to attention. He stood in front of a door, buzzing with excitement. “Our first room is my favorite room in the factory,” he said pausing to open the door and let everyone in.
“This is the chocolate room and everything in this room is edible. Even I am edible, but that is called cannibalism and frowned upon, children.”
Lollie snorted at his comment. And Willy looked her way smiling, then he turned back to the group. “Now I will give you some time to explore and try out some things,” he said before walking away.”
She quickly chased after him having some questions. “Mr. Wonka, I have some questions, do you mind answering them.”
“I don’t mind, but the question type will depend on the answers.” He said, grabbing an apple, but when he bit into it, it was chocolate and marshmallow.
She gasped as if he had performed a magic trick and clapped. “Wow, you are brilliant.”
He chuckled. “The Brilliance is in the mind of the imaginative, the young, the dreamers.”
“Then I am even more brilliant than you are, Mr. Wonka,” she concluded.
He laughed again nodding. “I believe that is so. Should I be asking you questions then?”
“Of course, maybe I can you an idea or two,” she grinned.
“Ladies and Gentlemen and everyone in between. My name is Willy Wonka and I have something important to say. Not to just say but give. Have you ever had a craving for a piece of candy only to realize it doesn’t exist? Well, I have that candy, the non-existent, now exists. Who would like to be the first one to try it out?”
“Oh, I would very much like to try it out. The candy we have all dreamed of is now a reality.” A voice said from the back of the small crowd. The crowd parted and a woman stepped forward. Willy's mouth ran dry when he saw her. She was the most breathtaking person he had ever laid eyes on. Up until now he wanted nothing in this world but to make chocolate, but now he wanted to know her.
“Y-yes-” his voice cracked, and he cleared his throat. “Yes, ma’am come this way. And taste the taste of dreams.”
She was skeptical but also highly intrigued and eager. She grinned widely and stood in front of him. He smiled back warmly and held out his hand and she quickly placed hers in his. Willy placed the candy in her hand in a moment that felt far more intimate than it should have.
“Now, close your eyes and taste,” he whispered to her.
She looked from the candy in her hand to him. After getting an encouraging nod, she closed her eyes, turned to face the crowd, and put the candy in her mouth. The crowd and Willy held their breaths as they waited to see what would happen.
“Oh,” she said, quietly before a full-blown grin took over her face. She opened her eyes, “It’s brilliant. The best candy I have ever had. Something from a dream,” she said in awe.
Willy smiled and she looked at him in wonder. He wished to say something else to her. Something that would make her laugh or like him. His palms felt sweaty in a way they never had before, but quickly people were in front of him begging to try this candy, shouting over, and pushing toward him.
He tried to look over their heads to see her, but she was slowly moving to the back of the crowd, she caught his eyes and smiled widely at him. Willy's heart quickened and he tore his eyes away starting to take orders and give samples, but the woman never left his mind.
“Mr. Wonka,” Lollie said, worriedly when it seemed he had slipped away.
Willy blinked a few times pulling himself from the memory of his youth and smiled at her as if nothing happened. “Sorry about that. Lost in thought, dear Lollie.”
“It’s okay. My mother used to do that a lot. I suppose it is another trait of brilliancy,” she said grabbing a leaf off a tree and popping it in her mouth. “Wow. I’ve eaten your sweets my whole life, but I can never get over the first taste.”
“Ah, that is all by design. A dear friend of mine once gave me the idea to add a bit of a secret ingredient to all my treats. At the very end, I personally, by hand, add it to each of my treats  before it is sent off to packaging.”
“Really?” she asked. “What is it?”
“The keyword is secret there. I think you missed it,” he grinned smugly, tapping her nose slightly.
“Can you answer a question for me then, Mr. Wonka, don’t worry your chocolate secrets will be safe?”
Nodding once Willy stared at her expectedly. “Now when it comes to your roasting process for your cocoa beans, how long do you roast them and how do you do it?”
Willy raised an eyebrow at her question. He was not expecting a question about the process of making chocolate. No one is ever interested in the beginning process. “How old are you?” He asked.
“12,” she replied.
“Well, the roasting depends on how you want the chocolate to be, the ending form is important and should be known from the moment you start cleaning the beans. It is not one size fits all.”
As he spoke Lollie nodded pulling out a notepad and taking notes of everything he said. She asked a lot more questions throughout the day about the perfect temperature for her namesakes and the best place to order ingredients from.
Willy was more than expressed by her and enjoyed having someone to talk to about his processes and the best things about making chocolate. He missed the joy of sharing his ideas and processes with someone who cared and found them enjoyable.
As the other children slowly gave in to their vices Lollie stuck close to Charlie and Willy. “You know, Violet wasn’t turning violet. I thought she was more indigo, no?” she whispered to Charlie who covered his mouth to hold in his laughter.
“ Maybe a cross between Indigo and Violet,” Willy added as he passed by the two of them.
“Perhaps, but I don’t think I’ll ever have blueberry pie without thinking of her.” She giggled quite happy the rude girl was given her just desserts.
Lollie hoped all the other rotten children met the same end, except for Charlie. He quickly became her best friend. It was strange as they met today, but she didn’t have many friends, in fact, she had none. Yet, while coming from different worlds, they both understood each other and shared a love of adventure and, of course, chocolate.
“Charlie, what do you think the end prize will be?” Lollie asked as they all moved into the nut-sorting room.
“I don’t know. I hope it is something that will take care of my family, but I would happily lose to you,” he said, whispering back.
She smiled and grabbed his arm giving it a little squeeze. “Nonsense, if I were to win, I would just forfeit to ensure you do. Meeting you and touring the factory is enough for me.”
Charlie flushed at her words and quickly caught up to everyone else to stand next to his grandfather. Confused, she shrugged and stood next to Wonka, eyes widening when she took in the squirrels.
“What a brilliant way to get the nuts. Did you know that Squirrels almost always get the nuts out perfectly? Well, of course, you would know that it’s why you use them,” she said, excitedly.
“Well, aren’t you full of knowledge? I was just explaining that same thing to the group, Gold Star,” he said, patting her on the head.
When Veruca started to demand one of Wonka’s squirrels Lollie rolled her eyes and watched as she climbed under the rope. She wouldn’t say she was someone that enjoyed other people’s misery but watching the Squirrels attack her was one of the highlights of the day.
“A rotten nut all around,” she said to Willy, both of them trying to hide their laughter.
“Ah, but the tree that waters the nut has something to do with that,” Willy added, watching as Veruca’s father walked away. “Maybe a trip will do them both some good.”  He was just as relieved that Veruca was gone as Lollie was. He liked children, for the most part, but the ones here were the worst of the bunch besides Lollie and poor boy.
Crowding into the elevator Lollie and Charlie both gasped as they passed through rooms, she wished they could explore more. Mike on the other hand was being grumpy and trying to ruin the whole mood.
She could tell from all the comments that Wonka made that he also did not enjoy the boy and she hoped he would fall prey to his own flaws like the rest of them.
“This room seems stupid. The whole idea of candy is stupid,” Mike groaned.
“It isn’t stupid. Candy is the only magic in the world, so of course the room would be about magic and the unimaginable because that is what candy is,” She finally snapped back to him.
Willy quickly turned to her at her words. “Candy is a dream made real,” he mumbled before getting lost in another memory.
“You are just wow. So amazing. Candy is a dream, a dream made real. I’ve always thought that. Having a piece of a sweet treat can feel like the best day. It can make your day, but your candy, Mr. Wonka is next level.” The women gushed to Willy as they walked arm and arm down the waterside.
He was forever grateful that the beautiful woman stuck around after all his samples and orders were placed. While he was happy that it looked like his dream was finally taking off, he couldn’t get her out of his head.
And then she was there. Sitting on the curb waiting for him. She expressed her admiration for him and her shared love of chocolate and sweets. It was an instant connection between the two of them and he was glad that she felt it too.
“What about you? You said you are working on candy creations as well. You could put me out of business before I even start,” he chuckled, patting her arm.
She flushed ducking her head. “Oh, that is exceedingly kind of you to say, but mine are going to stay dreams. My father does not believe candy making is a good enough job for his daughter. Though, I suppose no job will be,” she frowned sadly, and he needed to cheer her up.
Thinking quickly, he grabbed both of her arms and dragged her towards the water. “You know, I get my best ideas after a quick dip,” he said.
“In that water? It has to be freezing,” she said, laughing.
“That’s why I keep my clothes on, it’s just a refreshing dip,” he grinned taking off his shoes and socks and walking closer to the water.
“You are mad, Mr. Wonka,” she laughed but followed suit taking off her shoes.
“Aren’t all of the best people, gumdrop?” He winked at her and took her hand. She grinned giving him a tight squeeze back. “One the count of three, One, two, three,” he shouted before they ran into the water.
It was beyond freezing but they both laughed unabashedly, dunking themselves underwater and then huddling closer together for warmth. “Well, no one can ever say you are dull, Willy,” she giggled pushing some of his wet hair out of his face and behind his ear.
Willy burned bright red despite the freezing water. “No no. I suppose I am not known to be dull,” he said, shyly.
She chuckled, “Then we are going to have lots of fun together.”
“Mr. Wonka, are you okay?” Mike’s father asked pulling his son closer.
Willy blinked a few times before looking at everyone. “Never better, now off to the next room.”
“You seemed to be having a lot of… moments, does that happen a lot?” He asked.
“Not too often, but it’s increased significantly today,” Wonka said, looking at Lollie for a moment before ushering everyone out of the elevator.
Soon, like Lollie hoped, Mike’s hubris got the best of him and then it was only her and Charlie. She was only understanding what was happening. Wonka had to be testing them and the last kid standing would get this prize.
She looked at Charlie. He excitedly walked back to the elevator with his grandfather. He told her this was the best day of his life and from the little bit he did share about his life, it’s been a hard one.
“Mr. Wonka,” she said making up her mind.
“Yes, Lollie,” Willy said giving her his attention.
She didn’t want to seem overconfident, but she felt like she was going to be the last one standing, or at least if things came down to Willy just picking them, she thought he would choose her, she was the only one whose name he bothered to remember and use.
“I don’t want your prize,” she said, crossing her arms trying to be bratty and annoying like the other children.
Willy frowned at her. “Are you sure? You haven’t even heard it yet. And I think you will love it.”
“I am sure. I had my fun. I learned some things, but I am disappointed actually. Slugworth’s factory was better.”
Willy’s eyes widened but narrowed. “The winner gets my factory. They will become my successor.”
Her eyes widened and she had to quickly school her features. She wanted nothing more than to get to work with one of the most brilliant minds and do what she loved but, with a glance at Charlie, she knew he needed it more.
“That’s swell and all, but Charlie is your winner, not me,” Lollie said.
“Then, I’ll have someone show you out, Miss Lollie,” he said, taking off his hat and bowing before an Oompa-Loompa took her hand and walked her outside.
Willy frowned as he watched her leave. Charlie would be a good successor. He had the love and the passion, but she had the same sparkle that he only saw once before.
“Willy,” she giggled pushing his face away from her neck. “We are supposed to be working,” she added.
“I am working. We are working,” he said, adding little kisses to her neck.
“Really, then what do you call this?” She countered.
“A reward sweeter than sugar?” He questioned. Causing her to laugh and pull him closer kissing him.
“I am so immensely proud of you. Willy Wonka the proud owner of his own factory. I told you that you would have your own. That your dreams were like sugar, just waiting to be spun into a reality.”
Willy smiled widely at her. He loved her. There was no doubt in his mind. From the moment he saw her all those years ago in the crowd, from the walk in the park that turned into daily walks. To the late-night idea-sharing and dinners. She was his person.
His father was a different man after his mother died and now, he understood why, when you met your soulmate, it was all-consuming he couldn’t imagine life without her. Together they worked hard to follow their dreams and now he had a factory, and he would ask her to marry him.
“It is all thanks to you, my sugar plum. I couldn’t do any of this without your help. This is just as much your factory as it is mine.” Willy cupped her cheek and kissed her softly.
She melted against his lips, kissing him back with just as much love. “My father would have a heart attack if you said that to him,” she chuckled.
“Your father needs to see you for who you are,” he said, pulling her onto his lap and pushing a strain of fallen hair behind her ear. “The genius, innovative person you are, my lovely Pixie Stix,” he said, kissing her cheek.
She smiled sadly. “I don’t need him or anyone else to see me, you see me and that is all that matters.”
“The world should see it. Your talents, your passion it’s unrivaled.”
“Now you are just being too sweet, Willy. I have nothing on you. You are my muse without you, my partner in candy, and in life, I am nothing,” she giggled, kissing his nose.
“You have a sparkle like no one else, my sweet tart, and I have something I want to say to you, actually something I want to ask,” he said nervously.
She frowned, “Are you all right, my love?”
“Never better. In fact, I could be a bit better in a few seconds if yo-“ The door opened and the two of them instantly separated when her father walked in.
“You are coming home with me right this instant,” he said grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him.
She protested and tried to pull away. “Hey let her go,” Willy said.
“And you, stay away from my daughter if you know what’s good for you. This factory can go away with just one visit to the bank. You leave my daughter.”
She was sobbing now and so was Willy. “Please, I love her. I can make a good husband. I can take care of her, don’t take her away,” he begged.
“You and your factory are not good enough for my daughter.”
“Father please, I love him,” she begged, her voice catching only making Willy more heartbroken. The ring burning in his coat pocket.
“Enough. You are forbidden to see him.” And then her father dragged her way. She looked back at Willy, her eyes full of sorrow and pain.
“Mr. Wonka. What are you doing here?” Lollie asked.
Willy smiled at the girl. “Well, after you so rudely insulted my factory, I thought I owed it to you for a better tour.” He replied.
She looked out into her yard. “How did you get here? You don’t have a car?”
“Ah, well you missed the best part when you left. My glass elevator also flies,” he grinned.
“Really?” She said running down the steps of her house. “Where is it? Where is it? I must see this,” she said excitedly.
Willy chuckled as she ran smack into his elevator. Something he’s done too many times since creating it. “I should put a sign or something to stop that from happening,” he said as he walked over to her and checked her over. “It seems nothing is broken. Hopefully, you didn’t knock some innovative ideas out,” he teased.
“Oh, you would like that, that way you won’t have to compete with me one day in business,” she grinned getting into the elevator.
“There is nothing wrong with good competition as long as you don’t plan to steal my recipes.”
“Never.”
“Good, then I welcome the day,” he said getting into the elevator and pressing the fly button.
Lollie pressed her face close to the glass as they rose higher. “You truly are a genius, Mr. Wonka.”
“A true genius, Willy. I will never get over your amazing brain,” she gushed as they ate dinner in his small flat. It wasn’t much and he used to be insecure about it, but she never said anything horrible. She just enjoyed being around him.
Willy blushed at her words. “You are too sweet, my peppermint patty. It was a joint effort from us both. You were the one that made batch after batch, tasting, and perfecting the recipe with me.”
His newest candy had changed the game for him. His tiny shop was about to grow into the factory he always dreamed of. His candy would be shipped all over the world and his dream will be a reality.
It was her turn to flush. “I am just happy to help you, my love,” she said.
He smiled softly, kissing her hand. “You are more than happy. You inspire and create with me. My truest partner.”
The word partner had them both flushing and turning to their food. It’s been a few years since they first met and they have been a couple for over a year, but still very shy about subjects of marriage and forever.
They both wanted it, but there was a barrier stopping them. Her father would never allow it. And Willy wanted to have enough money to be able to take care of them and their future children. He didn’t want her to give up her life to struggle with him.
Coughing unsubtly Willy stood up. “I have a gift for you, my sugar plum.”
“A gift? Willy, you don’t have to buy my gifts. Spending time with you is more than enough.”
“Oh, pish posh. I just received a long sum from the newest candy, which you helped make, so of course, I got you something. Now I’ll be right back,” he said, already walking away. “Oh. And close your eyes.”
“Of course, Mr. Wonka,” she teased closing her eyes. She could admit to herself she was slightly excited to see what he got for her. She tapped her fingers on her thighs in anticipation.
Willy couldn’t help but grin goofily when he saw her impatiently waiting for him. She was just too darling, and he loved her with his whole being. He silently moved closer, leaning down until he was in front of her face.
“Willy are you th-“ she was cut off as he kissed her swiftly and sweetly.
She gasped and he giggled kissing her deeper. Her hands came up to thread through his hair and he grabbed the back of her chair. He kissed her with everything he had in him, wanting to convey just how deeply he loved her.
Her lips moved against his, echoing his words with her lips. They kissed until their lungs begged for air and even then, they waited a few more seconds before gently pulling away.
She slowly opened her eyes blinking up at him. “If that was my present, I take back what I said earlier,” she said softly. Then, as if realizing what she let slip, she flushed.
Giggling wildly Willy leaned down and kissed her once more before shaking his head. “Sorry sugar cane, but that is not the gift, but I hope you still like it,” he said holding up a necklace. “It’s a sugar pop. You said you loved sugar pops best.”
She giggled as she looked at the necklace. A golden chain with a little charm of the candy hanging. “I said I love yours best,” she said happily at him.
“Well, I made this charm with the same love I made in the sugar pops, so it should be the same,” he said.
“I am sure it is,” she grinned.
“Does that mean you like it?” He asked nervously.
“Oh, Willy. I, of course, love it. Anything by you I love, but this is wonderful. You said you made it?” She asked as she let him put it on her.
“Yes, I read a few books on how to make charms and had a bit of trial and error. The chain is of course from the jewelers, but it is a Wonka original for my favorite person. It’s always modeled after my favorite flavor.”
“Why yours?” She asked turning to face him once the charm rested around her neck.
“Well, that is because this necklace has a brother in the form of a bracelet that has your favorite flavor.” Willy held up his wrist where the bracelet sat.
“Oh. This gift is even more wonderful,” she said, standing up and hugging him. “I love it. And I love you,” she said.
“I love you too. Now we will always have a small part of each other when we are apart.” He said, kissing her.
“Mr. Wonka, are you okay?” Lollie asked.
Willy blinked away the memory. He shook his head a few times, trying to will away the painful memories. He hated that they kept coming up. He had fought them away for years, but it seemed the dam had broken them free.
“Mr. Wonka?” Lollie questioned again.
“Oh yes. I am fine. All the best geniuses get a little lost in thought sometimes be warned,” he said, trying to make a joke. And luckily, she laughed. He looked back toward her home. It was large, showing wealth, and he wondered why she was not as horrible as the other wealthy children who came to the factory.
“Where are your parents? Lollie? Should I have asked them first?” He wondered. He wasn’t good with parents, adults, or children. Or people really, but he was sure that he was technically kidnapping her.
“Oh, I don’t have any. Not really,” she said, sadly, taking a seat on the floor of the elevator.
“Oh. Well, that is just awful,” he said, a bit unsure what to do before he joined her. “I lost my mother when I was young, it was especially hard to grow without her. I also had a father that didn’t understand me.”
Lollie felt tears in her eyes and quickly looked towards the sky. “My mother was my best friend. The sweetest woman to ever live. And before you say that everyone says that about their mother. It is true for mine. She loved me and loved the world. She saw it differently from everyone else and it made her so kind, and sweet. I never saw how she married my father.”
Willy frowned in understanding and placed a hand on her shoulder. “When did your mother die?”
“She isn’t dead. At least now yet. My father was not a good man. He didn’t enjoy her unique view of the world and thought to rid her of it in the only way a brutish man knew how. She is currently in hospital.”
Willy's eyes closed as her meaning hit him. No one deserved that. How could anyone marry someone, claim to love them, and then hurt them? And enough to put them in hospital and for their young child. His heart went out to the young girl.
“You have had to grow up faster than anyone needs to, sweet Lollie. I am terribly sorry you have to deal with that. If you want to run away, my factory is home to you.” He couldn’t just let her go back after learning that. He subtly tried to scan her for marks, hoping with her mother gone, she was not her father’s next target.
Lollie smiled softly at his words. “That is a wonderful offer, but my father is gone. My mother’s father made sure I would never have to see him again. He had him sent away to prison. And then my grandfather died, so I was left in the care of my father’s sister. An awful woman, but at least she knows that all the money belongs to me and is smart enough to leave me be.”
“A terrible hand you have been dealt, but it will get better. I assure you there is a rainbow of Sherbet after a cloud of rain,” Willy said.
Lollie sniffled clutching her mother’s necklace in her fist. “But be warned that a Sherbet overloud causes a freeze to the creative juices,” She finished.
Willy froze. He blinked repeatedly, his chest tightened, and he felt as if he couldn’t breathe.
When she was gone, Willy had no idea how long he just stood in silence staring at the door. He didn’t know anything; his heart was gone. He felt hollow like he had nothing left in the world. His knee buckled and he was on the floor. Willy was gasping, his throat tightened, and he grabbed his chest.
His ears were ringing, and his face was growing wet. If he didn’t know any better, he would think he was having an allergic reaction to something. Maybe he was. Maybe heartbreak was his allergy.
The ring burned a hole in his pocket, and he cried harder. Quickly, he pulled the ring out of his pocket and stared at the chocolate diamond ring. He knew the ring was the most expensive ring or the most flashes, but he knew she would love it. And now she would never see it.
Willy kissed the ring with shaking hands. And then wiped his tears. He needed to get ahold of himself. He couldn’t just give up on her, she was the love of his life. She was his life, he had to fight for him.
Getting to his feet, he tripped, crashing back onto the floor. He groaned, lying his head on the ground. How was he going to save her though? Her father would never allow them to marry, and he knew how much she loved her family, even if they didn’t offer her the same.
He couldn’t make her pick between the two. It would only make her miserable in the end and that was the last thing he wanted. Defeated, Willy stayed on the floor for hours. Until someone knocked on his door asking if it was okay for the employees to go home.
In his heartbreak, he forgot all about his happiness with his factory, his craft, and his dream. Because while it was still his dream, she was a part of it. Not trying to wipe his face, he got up and opened the door.
“There is a rainbow of Sherbet soon. There is a rainbow of Sherbet soon,” he repeated to himself before walking out of his office. “You have all done wonderful today. Truly I am grateful to each one of you. I think you all earned the rest of the night off. I will see you all tomorrow,” he said.
He watched as they all began shutting down machines and chatting as they gathered their things and left. Willy walked around after everyone was gone, turning off lights and locking up.
Once outside his factory, he stood back and looked up at it. It was his dream, but it felt hollow now. “A rainbow of Sherbet. A rainbow of Sherbet.”
“But be warned that a Sherbet overloud causes a freeze to the creative juices,” a voice said sadly from behind him.
Gasping he turned to see his love and he quickly pulled her into his arms hugging her to him. He cuffed the back of her head and sobbed into the top of her head. “My chocolate delights. I-I. I shouldn’t have let him take you. Oh, I was going to come, but I didn’t want to, your family and love and you and.” He was sobbing too hard to make any sense.
But he didn’t need to, she understood him and sobbed along with him. She wrapped herself around him, sobbing into his chest. They held each other, hoping it would be enough. That their love would be enough for them.
“My father has betrayed me. He has given my hand to someone. Some rich earl’s son,” she sobbed. “He told me if I ran away, he would make sure your factory was shut down. That he would make sure you would never be able to sell anything in the country,” she sobbed, shivering against him.
The snow just hit him. In his sadness, he didn’t feel the cold, at least not the cold from the snow. He quickly ushered them back into the factory and into the living area. He sat her in front of the fireplace and made her the creamiest hot cocoa he could. Something that always made her smile.
But not this time. She took the mug but didn’t smile, just looked sadly into the cup. “He told me to come break your heart. To tell you goodbye and of his threat,” she said, watching as her tears dripped into her drink.
“My sweet,” he whimpered, kneeling in front of her and wiping her cheeks. “His threats mean nothing we can leave if you wish it. To hell with this factory. We can leave, move to America, and start a life there. I am sure I can get enough money selling my recipes and factory to someone here.”
She gasped looking up at him. “No Willy. You cannot. Your recipes are your life’s work. They are your life.”
“No, you are my life.”
“Stop it, Willy. This factory has been your dream your whole life. It is what you’ve been working towards for as long as I’ve known you. I won’t let you give it up for me no. Never. I cannot be selfish.”
“Be selfish and let me do this for you, for us. I do not want the factory if I don’t have the person who helped me build it with me.”
She sobbed harder. “You will grow to hate me if you give up your dream for me. Don’t make me have to see that.”
He wanted to argue. He wanted to tell her she was wrong, but her fear was the same one he had. He feared her picking him would make her grow resentful of him. The ring still sat in his pocket, and he pulled it out, pressing it into her hand.
She opened her hand and stared down at the ring. A lump grew in her throat and her upset stomach flipped a few dozen times. “Willy….”
“I wished to propose to you earlier. I’ve been thinking about it for years, but I wanted to wait until I was worthy of you-“
“You have always been worthy of me, Willy.”
“-I know, but I have not felt so, but now I know it is not our time to share Sherbert,” he chuckled through his tear-filled eyes and brushed his thumb over her cheek. “But it was brought for you, and you must have it. It is a piece of my heart, and I will never love you as I have loved you. So, you take it.”
She shook her head. “Willy please.”
Neither knew what she was begging for, but he just hugged her to him. They clung to each other as they knew it was going to be the last time. The snow falls hard outside, something grew despite the snow. Something neither of them knew about just yet but was there between them.
The life grew as did the sound of heartbreak between the two of them.
“We will always have our memories,” she whispered, her head resting on his chest.
“And our sugar pops,” he said, touching her necklace.
She smiled sadly, placing her hand over his on her necklace. “Our lollies.”
“Where did you hear that? H-how did you know that?” He asked.
Lollie stared at him confused. “It’s what my mother used to say.”
Willy's eyes moved to the necklace she was clutching in her hands. The necklace that he gave his sweet. The necklace that he gifted her all those years ago. His heart squeezed and without noticing he was crying.
Lollie didn’t notice his tears as she was now staring at the little lollypop charmed and the little chocolate ring that sat next to it. “My mother had a lot of strange sayings like that. This necklace was hers. She wore it every day. I used to play with it when I was a baby and as I grew, I asked her about it. She said she would tell me one day. Tell me about the second greatest love of her life. I always thought that was funny. I assumed it was a gift from my father as a child and didn’t get why she said that. Well, I suppose it is a gift from my father but not the one sitting in prison.”
Willy was going to faint. He was going to faint. “What?” He croaked.
“My mother told me that my father gave her this necklace. When I was eight, she told me that the man she loved most in the world gave it to her and that man was my father. It was not until after her accident, before my grandfather died, I learned the truth. He was talking about what to do with me. He knew he was sick, and he mentioned finding someone to take care of me. His assistant mentioned contacting my father, but my grandfather shut that down. I was confused at first, but it started to make sense. The rotten man in prison wasn’t my father.”
Willy stumbled to his feet and pressed a few buttons on the elevator. He needed to get to the ground. He needed air and he didn’t think it would do either of them good if he just jumped to his death. He couldn’t abandon his daughter.
His daughter.
His daughter.
Their daughter.
He choked on a sob and quickly landed the elevator. He stumbled out and fell to his knees in the grass, only it wasn’t grass. It was snow and he cursed, mentally not out loud his daughter couldn’t hear such language.
“Mr. Wonka is everything okay? Is it a memory again?” She asked, leaning close to him.
“Lollie,” he said softly. “I- I…” He couldn’t get the words out.
“Mr. Wonka? What’s wrong?” Lollie asked now more worried. She moved to her knees in the snow to get a better look at him.
“Your mother… I- I knew her,” he said looking at her. Into her eyes that were so like his own he felt stupid for not seeing it sooner. Maybe it was because the color was his, but the shape and the sparkle, it was all his sweettart’s.
“You knew my mother?” She asked.
“I gave her the necklace.”
Lollie froze, staring at him. “You gave her the necklace? That means. That means... you- you-”
“I am him. That you know. The male mother. The the.
Lollie laughed. “My father.”
Willy sighed and dropped face-first into the snow before turning over on his back and staring up at the sky. “Yes.”
“Can I hug you?” She asked after a few moments of silence.
Willy’s eyes widened and he quickly sat up, brushing snow off his clothes. “Yes, of course, come here. My Lollie,” he said, hugging his daughter for the first time. “Oh, my Lollie, I can’t believe you are my daughter. Oh my. I kidnapped my own child and now have her in the snow. You will catch your death,” he said.
Lollie giggled, it was strange seeing this new side of Willy. He was strange, but that came with being as brilliant as he was, but this dad mode was funny.
“Laughing at me, I am worried about you. Into the elevator with you,” he said, pulling them both to their feet brushing the snow off of them, and pushing her towards the elevator.
“Can I call you Dad now?” She asked as they both got in.
Goodness, it hit him again. He was a father. He had an almost teenage daughter. “Of course. And you that aunt of yours is going to get a piece of my mind and we will get you situated with me. Living in the factory will be, okay?”
“It would be a dream,” she said, excitedly. “We can make candy together, right?”
Willy smiled widely at her. “Of course, we can. I used to make candy with your mother all the time.” And then his smile left his face.
His love was currently in hospital because someone put her there when he wasn’t around. He should have fought harder for her. He should have risked her hating him because this was worse.
“How about first we go visit mom?” Lollie suggested.
Willy nodded. “How long has she been… like that?”
“A year.”
“I am sorry, Lollie,” he said. And then he hugged his daughter for a second time and let her cry as the elevator took them to the hospital.
