I feel like I would be doing a disservice to the people of Palestine if I didn’t bring up the things that Noah said and did on social media concerning Zionist posts.

I know we’re waiting on Smosh to do something. I know we’re waiting on a statement. Truthfully, I do believe they will take care of it, and if they choose not to that’s when we need to really reconsider the media we consume from them.

This is an extremely heavy political situation, I cannot stress this enough, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were taking some genuinely needed time with HR before making an official statement. I need everyone to understand that this isn’t some YouTuber apology that can be put out on the fly and if its extremely shitty we can all laugh at it.

This is a cast member directly supporting genocide. This is an individual who only removed his Zionist posts and comments because he got caught. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would have left them up in a situation where no one found them and rightfully let the fandom know.

So far Angela is the only one who has stated her direct support of Palestine when asked about the situation, and so far Smosh has started removing Noah from thumbnails and many videos that weren’t filmed before this was found out. The response may take time because of HR discussions, that’s true, but we need to take into consideration that if we never get a statement on this, we need to reconsider our place in the fandom.

I know it hurts. It hurts me, I adore Smosh and their content so much. But no part of me can support a channel that, while they may not support his beliefs, are staying silent on the matter.

Keep in mind that we’re talking about people here. While they may be micro-celebrities, they are still people. We don’t worship people, we don’t put them on a pedestal, and we certainly should hold them as accountable as we would hold ourselves if we did the same thing.

Whether or not you distance yourself from these politics because of the stress (valid) or take an explicit stance with action behind it (also valid), it’s important to remember these types of things. In this case, ignoring the issue concerning a cast member isn’t going to work.

I don’t think it’s right to jump to any major conclusions just yet or to spread misinformation, but this something that I at least wanted to make a statement about. Free Palestine. Love you potatoes, love you Smosh family
