And his companions are left wandering in circles for two days as the air goes “stale,” not knowing where he is but thinking the worst, while he hallucinates in a dark room?

Sirius used to hate Christmas because it was just a horrible reminder of how fucked up his family was. His first Christmas with the Potters was the first time he ever felt parental love, and now that Reg also escaped his family, it’s his favorite time of year to share with his brother.

I love how he's the only one wearing color at what seems to be a funeral. Of course for him it means he's getting more friends when someone dies so I imagine to him death is like a party. Or he just finds people dying funny. Like the ultimate spectacle of failure and he indulges in it. Either or it checks out.

Knowing Keir and Monerva are good with kids is funny to me tbh. Here are these two semi off putting people that terrify those who encounter them for a variety of same and different reasons.

in minerva’s defence she DID spend the better part of her 12 years in the circle actively pretending to be as polite and harmless and diplomatic as you could imagine, and she does continue to wear that face publicly more than you’d imagine. you guys are more familiar with the reality of her and who she is during the blight, but in general she only seems scary to a stranger if she chooses to do so. (which she does sometimes! but only if it’s useful. or, you know, they deserve it there’s no consequences and she needs the stress relief.) so it’s not obviously startling in quite the same way as keir, especially to someone who only knows her superficially. ironically people who know her better might be more surprised by it. in general i think kids are way more likely to see minerva’s whole elemental mage in shining armour look and think cool!!! than your average fereldan adult. minerva likes the flattery, she likes being important to people, that you can teach kids things and have an effect on them. and her own mentor figures were very important to her. okay she might be a tad strict but it’s for their own good

with keir it simply is kind of funny because he is just so up front visually threatening. like anyone would be nervous of him at first but as soon as you spend any amount of time with him you know that to his friends and to kids he’s all bark no bite and you can get away with literally anything. hopeless. fereldan refugee kids from anders’ clinic and lirene’s place have him wrapped around their little finger immediately
