I've gone off several times at this point about how Crowley keeps wearing a vest on top of layers that really aren't complimented by vests. Turtleneck? Vest. Grey t-shirt? Vest. Henley? Vest. Do I love it? Of course I do. Is it awful? Also yes.

And then this morning I thought, in a post-wakeup, pre-coffee, mid-pushup haze, what if he's doing this to mock match Aziraphale. Maybe it's a weird little, "Oh, you're going to wear the same waistcoat for a couple hundred years? Cool. I can do that too."

I mean, I'm pretty sure we only see him without it in instances where there's little to no chance of them seeing each other (watching the bookshop, watering his plants, infiltrating Heaven like a flamboyant murder hornet)...

Is it just me, or does the Alador/Darius ship feel like the epitome of "If I had a lame ass boyfriend I would hype him up so much"? And it's always Darius saying it about Alador.

Because I love that.

for all the angsty kingdoms fics out there, is anybody whipping up the typical "person in the past learns about all the wonderful things and terrible things created in the future" fic OR EVEN "person from future really misses this one thing now that theyre living in the past" fic that comes with time travel stories because i realize we literally have NONE of those

okay okay but is there anything in particular which you envision prince!levi to wear? lol i did a google image search for "prince clothes" and idk if levi would wear some of those bc some give off stuck up vibes. or would prince!levi be the type to wear "commoner clothes" (i.e. a plain (but smart looking) shirt) and maybe get told off by his mom/the royal staff who then give him the whole "you should wear clothes befitting of a prince" lecture blah blah blah

He does wear “prince clothes” in my head, but a more... toned down version of what you get through a Google image search of that lmfaooo. In that fic (that will never come), Levi’s family’s colors are (various shades of) purple, gold, black, and occasionally red; so he wouldn’t be in white pants and a bright blue jacket like prince charming. The best way I can describe it is some cross between the fire nation’s aesthetic (specifically Azula’s s3 outfit, but with less balloony pants) + those royal/military style jackets they dress k-pop boys up in to perform their little songs for something even more formal... but all of that in shades of purple w gold accents. If he wore something w the little sash, it would be in red (and all of those colors would have made sense if I finished that fic LOL).  

But, honestly, to the latter part of this ask, yes, he does also just... wear a regular suit and/or cotton button down when he doesn’t have much business to attend to. Even in canon, Levi’s casualwear/off-duty look was a whole suit LMFAO. He’s well dressed, without looking as ostentatious as your picture perfect Disney prince <33

I think Míriel seems like the easy answer to many people (including me lol) coming from the angle of *what happened to them* but I think you had a good point approaching this question from *what they believe in*! I definitely hesitate at Ancalimë, the one who has the most brawling energy.

Tbh it never occurred to me that Míriel would be angry at Eru (pre-drowning at least), but it makes a lot of sense, and I've been thinking about that since I voted and saw the partial results of that pool!

Glad u agree about Ancalimë's brawling energy! Definitely see her younger self brawling other girls, but also sheep and goats 😜

Personally I can't really imagine a reason, in the way I see them, for the other women to be antagonistic to Eru; but because the King's Men are antagonistic to the worship of Eru, and because Vanimelde is queen when they are becoming socially relevant, it just seemed that way to me. Like why would Erendis, Ancalime, Telperien or Inzilbêth be mad at Eru? It seems to me that their issues are more material and social, immediate, and not with the natural order itself... It occurs to me now that this answer says more about *me* than about Númenor lol, probably one of those instances where you project your way of thinking without realizing 😜 But out of the queens, Vanimelde is the one whose rule seems to have faced the least controversy while she was alive, and we know she was interested in at least some types of art. Idk, just seemed to me she would be more attuned with the growing dissatisfaction with the metaphysical world happening in Númenor

I want everybody who’s calling Ken a Trophy Husband to know that he’s actually a Trophy Boyfriend, because when Ruth Handler invented Ken in the 1960s, she was adamant that he would never marry her and instead be her “handsome steady”, so that Barbie remained a figure of independence for the little girls and was never put in the position of housewife.

Her house is hers. She bought it and furnished it with money she made in her own job. In STEM, in politics, in healthcare, in fashion, in academy, in customer service. Her credit card is in her name (women in the US couldn’t have their own regardless of marital status until 1974). And it’s all pink and fashionable because femininity and badassness aren’t mutually exclusive. No matter who you are, you can be anything.

That’s why Barbie’s slogan is “you can be anything”. Teaching these ideals to little girls is why Barbie was created. Empowering women and empowering femininity is the original meaning of the Barbie doll. It’s not that you have to be all this to be a woman, but if you are all or some of this, you too are awesome.

And somehow pop culture deliberately changed that narrative. Sexualised, bimbofied, and villainised her, when she actually isn’t responsible for the impossible beauty standards — people are, she’s just a stylised, not-to-scale toy like most others.

Men are frothing because he’s just Ken and I guess they were expecting her to be just Barbie, but that’s exactly what Ken is. Canonically. A badass woman’s himbo boyfriend.

This movie has the potential to radically change the way we collectively see Barbie into what Ruth Handler originally intended, I’m so very excited
