pairing: childe x reader summary: in which you, the late signora's apprentice, have been assigned to take over one of the two empty harbinger roles, and childe can't help but worry about you. or alternatively, childe tries to rizz you up in the middle of la signora's funeral. wc: ~1.6k notes: more of a character study based on the "a winter night's lazzo" trailer. reader has a vision but it's only mentioned briefly.
Tumblr media
the air is almost stifling as you look around, trying to ignore the mournful tune coming out of columbina's mouth.
the silvery metal of the coffin at the head of the room catches the light every so often, glinting just enough to catch your eye no matter how hard you try to keep your gaze elsewhere. it seems to mock, you, a reminder of the mentor who taught you so much yet told you so little. you don't miss her, of course you don't. from the very beginning, you knew you were merely another pawn for her to use; someone who she thought was talented, but ultimately disposable. that thought alone makes you feel some kind of morbid pride when you realize that you've managed to replace her.
a low hum comes from beside you, and you refuse to turn when you feel a certain redheaded harbinger lean in closer to you, nudging you with his elbow as he did so. childe lets out a small, frustrated huff when you refuse to meet his gaze, choosing instead to tilt his head down towards you. you can feel his hair brushing against your cheek and breath tickling the shell of your ear, an annoyance so great you finally break and face him, ready to tell him off. pulcinella starts speaking before you can do so.
"we are gathered here today to remember our dear comrade. in honor of her sacrifice, all work should halt for half a day as the nation mourns her passing."
your gaze is immediately drawn away from childe and towards pulcinella, your fingers twitching at his words. the action doesn't go unnoticed by childe, and he reaches over to grab your hand, pouting when you scowl and scoot away. his attention is quickly brought back to the rest of the harbingers, and he can't help but roll his eyes as someone else begins to speak.
"merely half a day?" pantalone says, chuckling lightly as he repeats pulcinella's words. you can't help the shiver that runs down your spine; pantalone's voice alone is enough to instill caution into you. "people may say that the northland bank's rue currencies are blood and tears, but mayor, even speaking as a banker that sounds a little unconscionable."
childe can't help but stare at you, watching as you nod your head absentmindedly. he's interested in your lack of emotion. sure, you're agreeing with pantalone's statement, but nothing about your demeanor suggests that you're actually upset about la signora's demise. you're just bothered with the lack of respect being given to a fallen comrade. a part of him is annoyed, all his delusions about comforting you in your time of grief dissipating in that very moment. another part of him is impressed; he can't deny that the tsaritsa really does know how to pick her harbingers.
"rosalyne died in a foreign land," arlecchino's voice is loud enough to drown out columbina's singing. "but you heartless businessmen and dignitaries always with a convenient excuse to remain in the comfort of your homeland. you couldn't hope to understand, so why don't you keep your mouths shut! we don't want to make the children cry."
there's an almost unnoticeable exchange between you and arlecchino, the two of you nodding at each other before looking away. childe's eyes don't leave your face as you sigh softly, directing one last glance at the coffin before turning your head to the side.
"hey, c'mon now," childe says, his tone a little too bright for the current situation. "even i don't think this is the right time or place for a fight."
there's a brief second in which you whip your head around to meet his eyes, mild surprise visible as you process his words. childe finds himself wondering why he spoke. (he tells himself that it's to respect la signora's memory).
"utterly risible," sandrone says. you can't help but roll your eyes, glaring at her as you try to figure out who her words were aimed at. childe frowns when he notices your attention is no longer on him, and he chooses to burrow into his scarf as he scoots closer to you. he blames it on the cold.
the conversation turns to scaramouche, and you tune out capitano and dottore as they speak. you couldn't care less about the missing harbinger; sooner or later you would catch up to him and take back what the tsaritsa wanted. columbina's singing seems to get louder, almost taunting you as you do your best to avoid looking at the coffin. you're reminded of the day you were called into the tsaritsa's audience room, her hand colder than the snezhnayan snow as she rested it on your shoulder and told you that you would be taking the place of one of the two former harbingers.
"rosalyne would be proud," the tsaritsa had said. "you should feel honored."
your fingers trace the outline of your delusion, catching on the ridges of the gilded metal that keep the gem in place. you know it's almost identical to a vision, but the gifted delusion feels much, much heavier. you think you're going crazy.
childe nudges your knee with his, drawing you out of your thoughts. you look over at him, an amused smile on your face as you notice him snuggling into his scarf. he's closer than he was earlier, you realize, his outer thigh pressed up right against yours. you pretend not to notice, instead relaxing your posture and allowing your leg to fully rest against his. you blame it on the cold.
a soft gasp leaves your lips when childe grabs your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours before pulling you off the bench you had been sitting on. you glance around, watching as all the harbingers approach rosalyne's coffin and take their respective places around it. you stare at your hand, still intertwined with childe's, before you glance up, being met with an infuriating smirk. you huff as he pulls you to his side, grip tightening slightly to make sure you stay in place beside him.
"let every worthy sacrifice be carved in ice, and with this nation endure for all time," pierro's words catch your attention, childe's hold momentarily forgotten as you stare at the first of the harbingers. "in the name of her majesty, the tsaritsa, we will seize authority form the gods. absolute peace; such is the gift from the tsaritsa, such is her majesty's benevolence. now you rest in this coffin, encased in layer upon layer of ice."
pierro pauses to stare down at the coffin, and you find yourself absentmindedly placing your free hand upon the cool metal. there's a slight shake to your hand that makes your brow furrow, unsure as to why. you're not scared, and the nervousness you feel is not nearly great enough for you to be shaking. your muddled reflection stares back at you as you keep trying to discern your emotions, and you're only brought out of your pensive state when you feel childe squeeze your hand. you glance up to meet pierro's icy gaze head-on.
"but rosalyne, i promise you, your final resting place will be the entirety of the 'old world'," pierro finishes, speaking his final words without looking away from you. there's a tense silence that follows, each of the harbingers waiting to hear your response. you glance down briefly, your previously shaky hand having gone still in the time it took pierro to speak. you feel childe fidget, your silence dragging on as a miniscule smile appears on your face. you drag your gaze up to give pierro a firm nod, receiving one in return before he turns and walks out of the room. pulcinella and pantalone are quick to follow, the latter shooting you a curious glance and letting out a low hum before disappearing.
"well, well," childe starts. "shall we go get some food and celebrate?"
at your confused glance, childe simply smiles. "you were so nervous you were shaking! but don't worry, you've proven yourself."
you pull your hand out of his grasp when he begins to walk, your face feeling warm as you realized you had been holding hands the entire time. "no thanks, i have things to do."
childe's eyes follow you as you stalk towards the door, an eyebrow raising when you pause at the exit and turn to face him once more. "and i wasn't nervous!"
"no?" childe immediately responds, a flirty lilt present in his voice as he crosses his arms. "then why were you shaking?"
"because," you start, a dangerous grin spreading across your face. you've finally figured out what you were feeling earlier. "i realized that being a harbinger doesn't make me nervous. it makes me excited."
childe huffs out a laugh as you finally leave, shaking his head in amusement before he runs a hand through his hair. he's left staring at the door until he hears arlecchino's muffled snort, and he turns to her with a warm face as he realizes that she'd heard your entire exchange.
"you don't stand a chance," she says, making her way to the exit as well. "but it'll be fun to see you try."
"fun indeed," childe mutters, glancing at rosalyne's coffin one last time. with a soft laugh, he places his hands into his coat pocket, trudging towards the door and already missing the warmth you had been providing not even ten minutes prior. "this'll be interesting."

So I don't know the intricacies of Deanna Troi's abilities but:
~IMAGINE TIME~
You and Q have a situationship. For the most part you've both kept it secret from the rest of the crew and shipmates. To everyone else Q just seems to like to play with you and Captain Picard the most and none of them know why. You go along with this preferring not to let anyone in command - and especially not the Captain - that you've basically been fraternizing with the 'enemy' frequently and, from time to time, in very intimate ways.
An Issue™ arises and command needs help from Q but Q isn't going to just go on and help because he was asked to. No, he's gonna play some long-game to see if Picard & Friends can work it out on their own and only intervene at the last second when he's /really/ needed.
But he's gonna Play Along. So he takes it upon himself to assign you and him as partners in this venture. You feign annoyance; that's the role you play when in public with Q. Picard, obviously, pushes back against this, not wanting Q to mess with or put you in harms way. After much banter between Q and Picard the later backs down and allows the two of you to work together (probably because the alternative is either Q not helping at all OR Q then insisting he work with Picard and Picard really NOT wanting THAT).
Still, when the two of you are alone the Capitan doesn't rest easy.
When Q pops in for visits without others knowing he's about it's easy to hide from the others in your quarters or in empty rooms and the holodeck. Now that Q's presence on the ship is known there's nothing less than a constant question to what he's doing and if what he's doing is safe.
Picard comes up with a plan. He doesn't want to make it seem like he doesn't trust YOU but he for sure doesn't trust Q. So he asks for Deanna for help. His plan is, from time to time, for Deanna to just reach out to feel how you're doing emotionally. If she senses fear from you then that's it, game over, you get yanked away from Q even if that means pissing him off.
Nothing seems unusual the first few times she gets a sense of what you're feeling: boredom, frustration, some mild annoyance. Things in line with what the situation seems to call for. Then there's the occasion she caught happiness and contentment. The assumption was that Q had left. Here and there were moments of various emotion but none of them fear or anything else worrying. The only unexpected feeling was a brief flittering of lust, which Deanna quickly turned away from as to not intrude on such a personal feeling, and attributed the object of your lust to be literally anyone else but Q. Perhaps you were in 10 Forward and saw someone you liked, that was the most logical conclusion.
There's a meeting. You're not invited. You're actually keeping Q busy which is exactly what they wanted. They wanted a meeting - just one - without the appearance of the Capitan's thorn in his side. So they took the opportunity of knowing Q was with you to meet.
As they discussed the involvement of Q and his closeness with you Deanna reached out to check in on you again. But this time the emotion she sensed caught her completely off-guard. Her face flushed and her breathing quickened. Professionalism kicking in to keep her from showing anything but the most impressive poker faces. Bliss. She had sensed bliss and pleasure and satisfaction and relief and all the things that come along with --.
She asks to be excused. There's concern but she assures everyone that she is alright, she just needs a moment and will return shortly. The truth is that she needed to be alone to compose herself after having experienced the wave of pleasure that had tore through you at the same moment Deanna had checked in on you.
She wouldn't tell. It was none of her business. It was no one's business, really. Besides, if Q really fancied you that much than surely he would make sure no harm fell to you. She isn't too sure of that last thing, Q being Q and all; standing for himself and himself only at the end of the day. Regardless. She would keep the secret. She also wouldn't be checking in on you anymore.

(Seven new ways to) Eat your young
Empires SMP season 1 x Hermitcraft
It's big shoes to fill when you're 7, but Gemini knows she will be great. There is no other possibility.
Or
Little Gemini stays up too late and her brother's here to bring her to bed.
~~
Here's the ao3 version if you prefer to read there.
The Grimland's estate has seen born and raised within her walls legendary redstone masters, irreproachable politicians and flawless Generals since it was first built.
Gemini would know, she's memorized every notable member of her family by the age of 4.
(Which, when one is born in a family like hers, is every member)
The Grimland's Estate produces prodigies. And only prodigies. Not a single member of her family has ever been anything but exceptional, and she does not intend to be first.
It's big shoes to fill when you're 7, but Gem knows she will be great. There is no other possibility. She is a child of the Grimland's estate and like her ancestors before her, she will change the world.
~~
"You're still up?"
Gemini's head snaps up to look at the door of her study. There, her brother leaned against the frame, his arms crossed and a playful smirk pulling at his lips. He raises an eyebrow at her and she scoffs before turning back to her parchment, absentmindedly waving him away. She doesn't have time for this. Now, where was she…
Ah yes.
…any further exploring of the possibility for an alternate source of renewable gunpowder should take into consideration key aspects that were previously neglected. Cat-based creeper farms, while powerful and simple in concept, propose the additional complication of keeping the cats alive and cared for. The cost induced by hiring additional workers to-
“So, what are you working on?”
Gemini did not scream. Screaming in surprise, especially during quiet hours, is undignified and shows a lack of spatial awareness by the one who shouts. So Gemini did not scream.
She simply…expressed her surprise in a loud voice. Not screaming.
She whips her head around to glare at her brother, her eyes alight with anger as she stares daggers at him. How dare he come and bother her like this when she’s busy. She had dismissed him! It was beyond impolite to enter an area when not invited! And don’t get her started on sneaking up behind someone! He could have given her a heart attack! Her murderous gaze doesn’t seem to bother him much, bent at the waist and too busy cackling his heart out to fully feel her wrath.
She huffs and crosses her arms over her chest, her jaw clenched tight as she tried to hold back a yawn and hold up her fury. And she waits.
It takes longer than she’d like for him to pull himself together, but he eventually stops laughing, whipping away a tear as the last few chuckles leave him and he smiles at her fondly. She scoffs at him again.
“Don’t do that again.” Her words are clear and sharp, efficient like everything else she does. Normally, this simple sentence would get her what she wants. Her brother’s never been one to obey simple rules, however, much to her eternal frustration.
He hums non committedly and she barely resists the urge to roll her eyes. Honestly, there are so many words to communicate with, and he still settles on sounds. She opens her mouth to criticize his communication skills, but he cuts her off before the words come out.
“You didn’t answer my question.” He’s leaning over her shoulder now, clearly invading her personal space in a way that is far from proper, and his eyes are quickly scanning the scroll.
She decides to humour him, in the vain hope that he'll let her be afterwards.“I’m composing an essay on the resurgence of alternative gunpowder farms.”
He whistles at that, leaning even closer to the paper. She admits, his reaction makes something bloom in her chest, and she feels a proud smile rise to her lips, past the dissipating annoyance.
“Impressive! What have you come up with so far?” His eyes are methodically scanning the paper scroll, reading at an incredible speed. Gemini straightens herself up at this, always excited to talk about her schooling, picking up her quill to point at specific parts.
“Cat-based farms seem to be the main alternative suggested to simple pathing farms. While there is a slight efficiency increase, the scale needed to balance out the cost of reconstruction and the continuous upkeep of the cats is ridiculous. None of the nearby empires have had a sizable increase in import of gunpowder so the farms would operate at a loss for longer than we can afford.”
She points at different parts and hand drawn diagrams as she speaks, as well as showing him a side scroll where she elaborated on the cost and benefit relations. It takes a second for her to calm enough to notice that her brother hasn’t said anything. She turns to look at him, about to question him, before she notices his expression.
He’s staring at the scroll again, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips turned into a frown. She can't help the wave of self consciousness climb up her spine at the sight.
“What?”
He blinks at her harsh tone, and pulls himself up, sending her a wide grin at the same time. Not that she buys it. “Nothing, just, wondering when you became so smart.”
“I’m a child of the Grimland’s estate, of course, I’m clever.” She’s not gloating, that’s just a fact. Like the sun rises from the east, and that the sky is blue. All of the Grimland’s estate’s children are exceptional.
(She allows herself the warmth blooming her chest at his words however. It's nice.)
He chuckles under his breath at that. A bit sharper than usual. Or perhaps she’s imagining it.
“Yeah, that’d do it.” Before she can delve into exactly what he’s implying, he’s picking up one of her reference books and glancing over it.
“Which of your tutors assigned you this essay, anyways? I didn’t know you’d started delving into economic studies just yet.”
Her eyes widen slightly and she looks away from her brother to the scroll. Right, he knew her schedule. She mumbles her answer under her breath, hoping he'd get the hint and drop it.
“What was that?”
So he's not letting that go. Fine. She straightens up and pinches her lips.
“None of my tutors.”
There's no direct answer to that, but Gemini can feel his pointed stare, and she knows he's raising a single eyebrow at her answers. She fights the urge to curl in on herself to avoid the conversation, as that is simply not dignified for a person of her status, but she starts scratching her quill against a scrap piece of paper instead.
“I-This is a personal essay. I was reading the most recent dissertation sent to Count Father on the subject this morning and decided to research the topic on my own.” The justification feels like sandpaper on her mouth, but still she persists. “This is my way of condensing it into an easy vehicle to communicate my opinions on the matter.”
There's still no answer and Gemini takes a look at her brother.
“What?”
Her brother has always been hard to read, as all the Grimland’s Estate children should be, but she liked to fool herself that she could understand him more than anyone else. But there and then, try as she might, she's unable to identify the series of micro expressions passing across his features and it only makes the gritty feeling of sandpaper stronger in her mouth.
Finally, after what feels like forever, he closes his eyes and lets out a bone weary sigh.
“Nothing.”
He lays a hand on her head before she can push and starts to ruffle her hair, much to her indignation.
“Personal essay or not, it’s getting pretty late for you, young lady.”
Gemini does not pount, as that would be too childish for someone like her. She frowns delicately at the observation.
“I regularly stay up later.”
He hums in agreement, now playing with one of her curls almost absentmindedly.
“And that’s bad for you. You know the side effects of lack of sleep.”
She does indeed.
“Insufficient sleep in Children can cause lack of focus, hyperactivity and impulsiveness, low-”
“Yeah, I’m aware." He cuts her off quickly. "That’s why you’re going to your room to catch some sleep.” He takes a step away from her and straightens up, before bowing at her, holding out his elbow.
“May I escort you to your room, my Lady.”
He's smirking slightly, just enough to let Gemini know that it wasn't a question.
She sighs.
“Alright.” She gets up and takes the offered arm, delicately wrapping her fingers around his bicep. He grins at her, a true genuine grin that she can't help but mimic.
He makes a show of guiding her out the room and through the door. As they pass the threshold, he spins around and locks the door with a flourish.
He winks at her extravagantly, waving his master key around.
“You can have this back in the morning after you’ve had the minimum hours of sleep you need.”
Whatever truce had been reached is paused immediately at the words. She gaps at him.
“Children 6 to 12 years old require an average of 9 to 12 hours a night to function at full capacity!"
She rattles off of the top of her head, to show him exactly how ridiculous that idea is. 9 hours away from her study, at the least? Preposterous!
He doesn't seem to share her vision, only humming in agreement, and escorting her down the old faniliar halls of the estate, away from her precious study.
“Great, you’ll get this back when you slept 9 hours”
She scowls at that, resisting the urge to squeeze his arm in protest. She takes a deep breath instead, trying to convince herself that violence is not the answer. It takes her a few seconds.
“...You’re annoying.”
He cackles, a loud booming laughter that is never appropriate from a child of the Grimland's estate, never mind after quiet hours. She can't bring herself to scowl him however, too busy fighting a yawn.
It doesn't take long for them to arrive in front of her bedroom door.
Her brother bows at her again as they stop, gesturing at the heavy spruce doors with his hand.
“Your room, my lady.”
She lets go of his arm and gives the appropriate courtesy. “Thank you.”
“It is of my utmost pleasure to serve you.” He winks at her again and she resists the urge to roll her eyes with a fond smile. He rolls his shoulder back absentmindedly and sends her a sharp-toothed grin back.
“Now go to bed, I’ll join you for breakfast in the morning.”
Nod.
She watches him make his way down the darkened hall and, just as he's about to turn the corner towards his own room, she calls out to him.
“Have a goodnight, Tango.”
Tango turns around as he walks and sends her a wide grin, his red eyes almost glowing in the dark hallway as he answers her.
“Sleep tight, Gemini.”
~~
In which the Grimland's Count family have not 2 but 3 children, and Tango loves his younger siblings.
What do y'all think?I've been obsessing over this au idea for weeks and i just had to write a small oneshot about it. Maybe I'll onto it, haha.
Please leave your comments, or theories about this Au! I love to read them

❝𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐊𝐄𝐈❞
word count: 1.6k
3RD PERSON POV
Like every morning, the big line of glasses is waiting for his girlfriend, but the two youngsters have no plans to go to school because it's the weekend, no, they enjoy their togetherness for all times.
Even if the two have known each other for a long time, that doesn't mean they've been together that long.
For the two of them, it was unimaginable to be in a relationship with the other, but things always happen and change.
Anyone who has asked the respective person about this relationship has long since forgotten because they apparently did not / do not care.
Back to the present.
Tsukishima looked annoyed at the clock on his cell phone and sighed in annoyance, he can't be delayed, even if it's 3 minutes.
It is not rare or common for his girlfriend to be late.
He actually prefers to pick her up instead of waiting for her, not only so that she can hurry up, but also so that she can meet her boyfriend carefree without any bad ulterior motives or any nuisance.
Well that's one of the reasons he hates being late, but he didn't tell his girlfriend about that fact himself.
Because of this particular incident with his brother, he has a strong weakness to trust someone or to trust someone, there are moments when he trusts his girlfriend, sometimes not, it mainly just depends.
But as a good friend, she shows understanding for him, she is too fond of him.
She knows his problems, his fears and the insecurities that almost eat him up, but she still knows the good side that she doesn't see every day, but better than never.
Like, for example, his love for her, his interests in the dinosaurs or his good tutoring when the two do their homework together.
Trapped in thought, someone took him out of it, or rather, something.
The boy's cell phone rang loudly, his heart pounding and he answered the call "Tsuki, where are you?" his girlfriend asked in amazement and tried to ignore the anger.
"In front of our favorite bakery, the question is more where are you, (Y / N) I've been waiting for more than 10 minutes and the weather is not very pleasant at the moment."
"Tsuki, we had agreed that we would meet in front of the museum, that you were present for our last conversation, I knew, but if you went straight into your own world, you have been really so bad in the last few days."
"(Y / N)?" Tsukishima said in a normal tone, "Yes?" she said, however, surprised that he speaks so calmly.
"Didn't we agree that if we'd only go to the museum right after we ate a piece of cake and went for a walk, because it only opens at 2 p.m. and now it's only 10:27 a.m."
"I'll be there in 5 minutes." was the only thing his girlfriend could say hung up as quickly as possible.
Yes, this behavior of his girlfriend wasn't seen every day, but he gets along reasonably well with it.
Of course there are moments or even days when he can lose his last nerve and there have been moments when he insults his girlfriend even though it is not his intention.
Fortunately, however, she knows him too well that she sometimes understands him, but only sometimes.
The one time she showed no understanding was when he was training again with his team and since Hinata was again better than usual, it annoyed him so much that he took all his anger and frustration out on his girlfriend, which caused her ignored him for almost a week.
Back to the present, holding hands, the couple are on their way to coffee.
The fingers are folded together, the wind blows stronger and stronger every second, but if you think that such weather could ruin their mood, you are one-sidedly wrong.
Once there, the two ordered a hot cocoa and a small cake, (Y / N) should already choose a place while Tsukishima delivers the delicacies with a tray.
They talked about their interests and what movie to watch tonight.
While walking around town, Tsukishima looked at his wristwatch that his girlfriend gave him and said, "The museum will open in about 20 minutes."
The friends who make (Y / N) s face shine cannot be overlooked.
Of course, she doesn't really like the museum because she's not really interested, but she knows too well that he likes the dinosaurs that she talked him into going on a date at the museum without any problems.
But he wanted the two to spend more time together, that is to say;
The coffee, the walk and the night at his house had been all his idea.
In the museum, the friend looked at a dinosaur, or rather a Gallimimus.
"What is it, Tsuki?" she asked him and shows it on the Gallimimus. "
From A to Z, her friend explained every information he knows about the Gallimimus.
"They were also a kind of group like wolves, but from the dinosaur genus of the Ornithomimosauria during the Theropoda. They lived for the most part in East Asia. Furthermore, as you can see, they were not small, they were 4 and 6 meters high and weighed up to to an example of 200 kg. "
"You seem to know your way around this, don't you?"
"Because I can." he said roughly, but grabbed his girlfriend's hand and said like a little boy, "Come on, you have to see the others first." and pulled her right after you with you.
TIME SKIP / 3RD PERSON POV
Back at home, the couple meets Tsukishima's brother.
He sighed annoyed and skilfully ignored him, but greeted him out of sheer politeness.
They have known each other for a long time, which is why they have an appropriate relationship.
In other words, a friendship.
You talk now and then.
However, their friendship does not belong in the level where you occasionally write to each other, make phone calls or go to town together.
But that's probably a good thing before Tsukishima gets the last nerve.
Tsukishima is not the kind of friend you ask if you can go out with this person or if he is having trouble going out with this person, knowing other people's passwords or reading through chats.
They know each other too well and also trust what is important in a relationship and therefore find this behavior strange from other couples, because, as I said, trust is part of a relationship.
When he got to his room, Tsukishima took his pajamas and said to his girlfriend "I'm going to get changed in the bathroom, okay?"
She nodded and answered him and also took her pajamas out of her pocket and changed a little faster than usual.
Finished dressed, she stuffed the clothes she was still wearing into her pocket and then put it down.
"Are you ready?" it came out the door.
"Yes I am, can come in."
The door opened and you not only saw Tsukishima in his pajamas, but he also held a small tray with (Y / N) 's favorite sweets.
But not only that, but also a small box.
The friend quickly got up to help her friend "Let me help you." and wanted to grab the tray right away, but Tsukishima pointed to his clothes, which is between his forearm and waist.
"Do you already know which film to watch and how." Tsukishima asked his girlfriend.
"No, I thought you would decide because I was 'allowed' to do it last time." she said and put his clothes where they belong.
"I would prefer if my dwarf would choose a movie." replied Tsukishima and set the tray down on his bed.
"Aww, since when was such a tsuki?" provoked (Y / N) Tsukishima and came a few steps towards him, while at the same time she looked at him gourmet.
Annoyed, he sobbed with his tongue - held a hand on her face and gently pushed her away from him.
He then gave his remote control to his girlfriend and finally said, "Come sit down and choose a movie."
And thus also knocked on the bed.
About half an hour has passed.
While (Y / N) stares obsessively at the screen and slowly eats the candy, Tsukishima secretly observed his girlfriend and the small box.
Breathing deeply, he said her name, while she turned and looked at him, "Is something?" she asked worriedly.
"No, it works. You remember when we were in town about a week ago, there was this shop. It had this chain that impressed you, so I made up my mind yesterday ..." without finishing his sentence he made it to his girlfriend.
She opened the box nervously.
The necklace that (Y / N) wanted, she got from her boyfriend as a present.
She just stared at it with no comments like, 'I want this.' 'Can you get it for me?' or something else, maybe he knows (Y / N) just too well.
He took the chain and asked "May I?"
"(Y / N) turned so he could tie the necklace together," What for, Tsuki? Have you ever seen the price? "She asked him and from now on ignored the film being played.
"When I saw the price, I wasn't too thrilled, but I just had to remember you being pretty amazed as a dwarf, so it wasn't too bad to spend my money."
The tray put away, the television switched off and the blanket over the couple's bodies, they slept cuddled up.
The two of them will not get rid of this event so quickly.

WONDERFUL SCHOOL DAYS: MY PRECIOUS RED
CHAPTER 5: WINTER
Translation: Naru-kun Raws: skyflyinginaction
* Gakuen K (List of Chapters) * Projects & Chapters
In the end, the feeling of discomfort was unexpectedly terrible and she was unable to recover to the point where she could walk home. Although Fushimi's hands had helped her, she was so shocked that she was forced to undergo an examination and she went to the hospital that day.
The next day, after a medical examination, she returned to the girls' dormitory.
(Oh, just, because everyone is taking classes.), she thought.
However, although there should have been no abnormalities at the time of the exam, she had a fever at noon and she stopped going to school that day.
She knew what the reason was, probably from Yata's words.
She believed it was because those words were stuck in her chest and she was worried. In other words, it was something spiritual.
Because it was the first time Yata had yelled at her like that.
She was surprised by the word "betrayal" and that Yata thought that of her.
She didn't know why, of course he was hurt, and maybe he was angry. Because, Yata, he just said that and left the hospital room without hearing her excuse.
But at the same time, Yata's face at that moment couldn't get out of her head.
More than that, she didn't understand why. She thought he was hurt.
His face burned at the back of her eyes and it was very painful.
Actually, it was the opposite, but she still felt that she had hurt Yata.
Is it because he was worried and distraught? By the time Kukuri came to visit her at the end of school, her fever had risen higher and exceeded 38 degrees. Even the next morning, she did not come down. She apparently caught a cold since she was weak.
She had no choice but to go to the hospital the next day while she fluttered about.
She got a drip and a Chinese herbal medicine for the fever.
Anyway, she was bored alone in the room that day and tried to sleep. She had a hard time eating the yogurt that Kukuri bought for her and she took the medicine.
But the next morning, after all, the fever didn't go down.
(Oh, it's the third day. I want to go to school soon.), she thought.
She was impatient, but her body couldn't bear it.
"It doesn't work; it doesn't work..."
She coughed, looked at the ceiling and sighed.
Her body was hot and heavy. It was difficult to even turn around.
She couldn't go to school in that situation. She knew that going there would only cause annoyance and worry.
"Ah…"
She looked up at the ceiling and pursed her lips tightly.
She hated herself as a person.
Being alone in a quiet room reminded her of all the extra things.
This also happened last year, she was alone in the room.
Scared of herself as a "monster", she locked herself in her room. Other than that, she didn't know what to do.
She hugged herself trembling and stared at the wall. Also in the morning, even during the day and at night.
"......"
She wanted to go to school and laugh with Kukuri and Neko.
She also wanted to go to the "HOMRA" bar, and play with everyone in the red club.
She was alone, and she did not like being alone.
"Yata-kun..."
She coughed out the name on her chest. She wanted to see Yata.
She hurt the back of her nose.
Even if she said that, she still remembered what Yata said. She wanted to see him, but she knew he was upset.
Why? He was hurt, he was sad and angry, but she wanted to see him.
She didn't know why, but Yata doubted her.
Was she "betraying" Yata? Why? Why didn't she think that was never the case?
For Yata, how long have you been together since spring?
Did he join her with a sense of duty because of the injury he caused?
She gently clenched her back teeth and covered her eyes with both hands.
Even if she knew it was different, she thought so herself.
Because if not, do you think it is a "betrayal"? Although they are friends!
(Yata-kun, you said that even I was your friend, right?), she thought.
Or was it not good for her like that?
"......"
Thinking that, she shook her head.
She did not doubt him. She just wanted to say, why was she thinking only of Yata?
There were many other things to think about. For example, who locked her up in that place? What was the purpose of it?
Was she also an object of disgust and fear? Because she was as strange a Strain as she was in the previous school?
"Ah...!"
It was disconcerting and sad. Even if she knew she couldn't be helped, it hurt.
But why? After all, the thought immediately returned to Yata.
She thought of various things and she wanted to see him after all.
(Oh, I want to see Yata-kun and talk.), she thought she.
Even now, she wanted to see Yata above all else.
It was at that moment that she heard a clear pounding sound. That surprised her and she opened her eyes.
Looking at the alarm clock next to the bed, it was almost 12 o'clock.
Yes. In other words, it was definitely the time when both students and teachers were in school.
Eh? Who would it be at that time?
"……?"
The moment she wondered and looked around her, called her a second time.
Involuntarily it was impressive.
After all, the sound of knocking was not coming from the door.
When she struggled to get up, she moved to the window, dragging her heavy body.
Then when she moved the curtains and looked out onto the balcony,
"…?!"
Eh?
What she saw from the window was a black school uniform and a boy with auburn hair.
She opened her mouth in amazement, and hurriedly opened the window curtains.
"Yes, Yata-kun?"
It was Yata who was crouched on the balcony to avoid the gaze of the public.
Without a doubt, Yata.
"Uh..."
"Why are you here?! What happened to the school?"
"You have decided to skip it, right?"
Yata blushed and walked away.
"Well, if you think about it, it's true... Isn't that a lie?! Really, Yata-kun?"
"......"
It was too much, she did not immediately accept the reality that she had in front of her and she was confused.
She couldn't believe it, Yata went to the girls' dorm.
"I can enter?"
For her, that she had no choice but to be just a flower, the illusion came carefully.
She took a deep breath and said, "Okay, come in.", and opened the window wider.
"You were in bed."
"But…"
"You have a fever, right?"
Yata kicked off his shoes and walked in, saying that bluntly.
"Yes, I heard."
"Whose?"
"Kamamoto... and Yukizome."
"I see."
Tumblr media
She wanted to see him, but she was still hurt and frustrated, so she couldn't speak well.
When she closed her mouth, Yata was also uncomfortable, and as he looked away from her, he coughed, "Would you like to go back to bed?"
"Mmm..."
She thought it was not a place to be stubborn, so she went to bed quietly, Yata sat cross-legged next to her and looked at her anxiously.
Her favorite, Yata's eyes.
Straightforward, hot, and unwavering, but kind.
"Are you okay?"
With that one word, her heart warmed enough that it was painful.
Oh, Yata. Anxious and overprotective. He always rushed first and protected her. The usual Yata.
Yata was next to her. She was so happy that she was about to burst into tears.
Oh, no. It wasn't just that. That was not the norm.
Finally, she realized. Being by his side was already an irreplaceable miracle, but for that it was painful.
Because he said that?
She bit her back teeth and looked at Yata.
"It is bad!"
Then Yata gritted his teeth, painfully distorted her face, and the next moment he sat on the ground. This was the second time for Yata.
Yata's strong voice echoed. She was concerned that they could hear it from outside.
It was the same as that time.
The first day of transfer. Just like Yata, who sat across from her.
He hit his forehead and screamed more.
"You can hit me until you feel like it!"
Eh?!
"Well, I won't do that."
She was surprised by the words, she hastily got up and shook her head.
"Oh, get up and you will fall!"
"Then stop doing that."
"Okay, but…!"
"They haven't asked you to do that, right?"
Perhaps Yata was surprised, he raised his head vigorously.
His eyes that pierced her harbored burning flames.
There was something she came up with with devotion.
Oh, how many times had those eyes saved her?
She liked her, she loved Yata's eyes.
"I want to hear the story, but they haven't asked me to sit down, much less hit me. Ok?"
"But..."
"If you stop, I'll lie down quietly."
"......"
When she said "Hey?", he thought it was not a place to be stubborn. Yata reluctantly crossed his legs. She was relieved and she went back to bed.
"It is bad…"
"You were in the hospital, right?"
"Ah…"
"Let me know..."
Yata painfully distorted his face and looked down.
After being silent for a while, he said, "I'm not going to make an excuse.", and slowly parted his lips.
"Saru was my best friend from high school."
"……!"
She gasped at the unexpected words.
She widened her eyes and looked at Yata, who was still face down.
Was Fushimi-kun his best friend?
There was no reason for him to lie. Yata couldn't lie.
But now they didn't see each other as friends.
"Are you a traitor too?"
Yata's piercing scream echoed through the hospital.
Finally, she was surprised at the unnaturalness of the words.
That was all. At that moment, Yata said "you too", "traitor", for the second time.
It was a word that would never come out unless someone had betrayed him in the past.
"Obviously, he was by my side. It was natural to be by my side. He was a partner and an ally. Truly, always, always together."
"Yata-kun..."
"Since then, I've been longing for Mikoto-san. Both Kusanagi-san and Totsuka-san. I wanted to go to his side and get closer. When I went to high school, I would definitely enter Homura. Both..."
Yata clenched his fist tightly.
"That's right, I entered high school, I entered Homura, but when the summer break was over, he left the club without permission and went straight to the blue club..."
"......"
"It was an unprecedented story in the red club and the blue club, and a big uproar. I didn't understand, and I rushed inside. But the monkey…! He couldn't even speak about the reason!"
He hit the ground with his fist. He shrugged.
"He just laughed to look down, nothing more..."
"......"
"I still don't understand the meaning. I don't understand it and that's why I'm angry..."
"Yata-kun..."
"Why did you betray me? I was far away. But is he your partner? The best is... Homura!"
He felt sad that he couldn't finish his thoughts with every word.
"It's important... I feel like everything was denied..."
"Yata-kun..."
"I heard that you should have gone to help with the class preparations, but you were with the Monkey in that place, and then you were taken away in an ambulance. I thought..."
Yata raised his head and looked at her painfully distorting his face.
"It's bad. You and the Monkey are different..."
He shook his head in a voice that squeezed the wound.
Yata hadn't figured it out at all, which was why he felt frustrated and dejected.
She felt that she could understand that frustrating feeling.
And she understood well the fear of suddenly losing something important.
Once suddenly she lost everything that was important to her.
"......"
(I see. That's Yata-kun's trauma.), she thought.
Perhaps he was very worried, that is why he lacked calm.
At the time, even Fushimi, who contacted her, didn't know what had happened. So they all were told only two things: "she was with Fushimi in an unpopular place" and "she got injured in an accident there."
Then it was impossible not to be suspicious. Especially if there was a trauma.
She could understand words with that feeling.
Finally, when she understood everything, she was relieved to breathe.
(I see. Oh, that was good. That was it.), she thought.
Yata did not doubt her or hate her.
"I said a terrible word and left the hospital room, but I immediately regretted it. Kusanagi-san scolded me. They all did. I thought I would apologize soon, but you had a fever and you were resting..."
Yata began to babble again.
"I thought I would wait until you were okay, but yesterday and today you were the same, so… in other words…"
"I made you worry..."
"That is not a good story."
Still, Yata went to the women's dormitory.
Not just to apologize. Perhaps he was very concerned about her body.
The gentle and eager Yata. Even in the case of a burn, he protected her in an overprotective way.
She smiled when she saw her left hand, which had been completely healed.
"Well, I think it's a story."
"Eh…?"
Yes. That was a good story.
Because at that moment, Yata remembered him at the hospital, right? The sadness when Fushimi left. Anger and suffering. The feeling of loss.
That's why he took it out on her.
So, huh? Why did she remind him of that? Isn't it because she thought she was like Fushimi?
It was natural to be by his side. It was very important. She didn't want to lose him.
That is why she was terrified and distraught.
She hears that.
Was that a convenient interpretation for her? Excessive shyness?
No. She could take a hundred steps and it would still be fine. Still, she was happy!
(I'm happy, Yata-kun. I'm glad I can feel relieved from the bottom of my heart.), she thought.
Because he didn't suspect her. She was not untrustworthy. He did not dislike her.
Yata was still the kind and dear Yata.
"Ah…"
(That's what makes me happy!), she thought.
When she took her hands off the futon, she picked up Yata's clothes.
"Uh..."
"Forgive me. I'm not angry. It was sad and it hurt, but most of all, I didn't understand the meaning. I'm glad you spoke..."
"I…"
"So, huh? Yata-kun... If I recover, will we play again...?"
Yata raised his face.
"Eh…?"
"Ah, play?"
"Of course. But that's..."
Yata got confused and shook his head.
She knew what he meant, because it was about Yata.
That was not compensation. Did he mean that?
But Yata, once again, they haven't asked him to pay, right?
Nothing has been done.
"Yata-kun. I will not leave, I will not betray you, because I no longer want to lose someone important to me. Remember that. I also lost everything once."
"That is to say…"
"Is it okay to be by my side? I want to be by your side... will you let me stay?"
"Ah…"
Yata's face was distorted as if he was crying.
Is it because he didn't want her to see him that way? Yata quickly grabbed the hat and lowered it to hide his eyes from her.
"Obviously...!"
She pretended not to know that the little voice was shaking.
How long had it been? For a long time, they were silent.
She fell silent and they remained together, almost motionless.
Oddly, the silence didn't bother her. However, the time passed peacefully.
She thought that the moment when nothing happened was very important.
She reached for Yata's clothes again, drowsy from the warm light.
"About Fushimi-kun…"
When she put on her clothes, Yata rolled his shoulders.
The line of sight that followed seemed terribly awkward. With confidence, just with that, she could see how much that case affected Yata's heart.
She hoped it would be resolved one day, anyway.
She thought that the important thing was not there. It was not necessary for him to understand. He didn't have to go back to normal. She thought it would be fine. Well, Yata's ideal might be to go back to the old relationship.
However, he was still trapped alone not knowing anything. She wishes he could get out of that situation. She thought that only that was different. That alone would be enough to save Yata.
"Do not give up."
"......!"
Speak clearly. She couldn't say anything more and fell silent.
As if Yata always did that, so did she.
"Don't give up, it's not good."
(Don't stop understanding each other. Even if it's painful, never give up.), she thought.
Kamamoto, Suoh, Kusanagi, Totsuka, and they were all next to him.
The moment it surrenders, it will break. It will never be like before.
She gave up and escaped earlier.
"Please don't make my mistake, Yata-kun."
"Ah!"
At her words, Yata distorted his face and moved his mouth as if he was about to start crying.
But no words came out.
The way he was, he bit down on his back teeth and lowered his head again.
"Stop saying that."
A terribly small voice. When she twisted her neck, Yata stared at her.
Her eyes were warm without fluctuation, and her heart made a loud noise.
"I'll tell you appropriately..."
"Yata-kun?"
"Get well soon."
Yata's soft words, which reddened her face, struck her gently.
"Did you eat at noon?"
After that, she was silent for a while and thought about each one of them, but suddenly Yata looked at the clock on the wall and said that.
"Oh, by the way... I haven't eaten..."
"Are you hungry? Should I do something?"
"I want to eat fried rice."
"Eh?"
When he remembered that he did it earlier, Yata opened his eyes.
"It's good for when you feel bad."
"The one you made earlier was delicious."
"I'll do it if you can eat it... But what about the ingredients?"
"Oh, it might not be possible."
She meant, what was in the fridge? For the past two days, she had only eaten yogurt and jelly, which Kukuri brought for her.
When she said that, Yata moved to the front of the refrigerator and looked at it.
"Seriously, there is almost nothing. Yogurt, jam and fruit. And eggs and cold rice?"
Having said that, when he took off his school uniform, Yata looked at her and gave his usual awkward smile.
"Turn it into egg porridge. I'll go back to making fried rice when you're okay."
His words made it even more painful. The hot feelings seemed to push her chest up.
The hot egg porridge made by Yata was delicious.
She had no appetite until a little while ago, but it seemed to be written on her stomach.
She was happy, and her smile naturally overflowed.
"Thank you, I am happy."
"I will do it anytime."
When she thanked him while she smiled, Yata blushed.
"Get well soon."
"Yes, of course."
Yata gave her an awkward smile.
It was like a miracle.
She realized that happiness was such a thing.
She smiled back and chewed on the wonderful "every day."
The next day, she was completely relieved and she went to school for the first time in a long time.
"Saya-chan! You finally came!"
Kukuri-chan! Sorry for worrying you! Thanks for everything!"
She jumped onto Kukuri's chest with both hands spread.
"Konohana-san, are you okay?"
"Isn't it better to rest still?"
"Gohan. Are you okay?"
"Shiro-kun, Yatogami-kun, Neko-chan! I'm fine! Sorry for worrying you!"
When she smiled, everyone breathed like they were relieved.
"I heard this year's cold is bad."
"But I feel like I hear that every year, with a fever."
In pollen season, you hear every year how many times more pollen flies than last year, right?
"But this is credible, because my man from the festival is resting."
(Huh? Festival man?), she thought.
They all point to the window at the same time.
Kamamoto was sitting there alone. Eh? That person?!
When she told everyone, "I'm sorry.", she ran over to Kamamoto.
"Good morning, Kamamoto-kun!"
"Oh, yeah. Is your body okay?"
"Yes. Sorry to worry you. What about Yata-kun?"
"He has a fever and is resting. He caught a cold."
Well, that was... too many thoughts went through her head and she suddenly screamed.
"Oh, that's right. I got infected and infected him."
She looked up and blocked for a moment, then looked at Kamamoto, who seemed bored alone, and tilted her head.
"I want to go see him after school, can you help me sneak into the men's dorm?"
"What? Good, but... Yata-san, he will jump."
"Eh? He will jump and he will be happy?"
"Does not mean that."
She wondered if she was being impatient and going too fast. She wondered if he would turn bright red and flutter.
She knew the way of him to act.
She smiled and clenched her fist.
"No problem, I like that side of Yata-kun!"
Also, she was very happy with yesterday's visit, and she was relieved to understand the situation for which he apologized, but because of that she felt that she wanted to give back because they hurt him in vain.
"I will gladly take you, Konohana-san."
"Thanks!"
So, at night, with the help of Kamamoto, she unknowingly visited Yata's room.
Yata, who screamed, closed the door saying, "Wait two minutes, wait a minute!", but she couldn't wait quietly in the hallway of the men's dorm, they might discover her in the first place.
If he had a fever and was trying to get rid of her, it was outrageous. It wasn't a joke, so she pushes the door aside...
Then, the "superhuman strength" activated well, and when she opened the door, she pushed Yata, who stood with a bright red face, into the room and it was worth taking care of him.
The school festival was only two weeks away.
In order to enjoy the preparation together, they had to be cured as soon as possible.
++++++++++
"What? Christmas party?"
"Yes. I wonder if the red club will do anything for Christmas."
Yata and Kamamoto looked at each other when she said that while closing their PDA.
The school festival was the most enjoyable, including the preparation period. It was too much fun.
Preparing for a class show and preparing a position at the red club. She was very busy at the same time, she wasn't saying she wasn't in trouble, but even now, she remembered having fun. Not only her, everyone smiled and had fun.
Yes, she smiled herself, although the case of being trapped in the warehouse was not solved.
She was afraid to think that malicious intent was hidden somewhere. She couldn't help but be afraid, but Yata was there.
She was sometimes too busy to find the criminal, but thank you all, she thought it was not so much.
When it came to festivals, the red part was still going strong. The post was a great success. On the first day, the prepared quantity ran out early. She significantly increased the number from the next day, but they were all sold out.
After the school festival, it was grandly opened at the "HOMRA" bar.
It was fun.
However, after having fun, the "student book" always arrives.
The scope of the final test had been announced and the preparation period began.
As usual, if they got a red point, they would be banned, so this time too, the red club will work as one to pass the test. By the way, they were heading to the library.
"Let's go quickly, Konohana-san."
"Eh? Yes? I heard from Kukuri-chan that the Christmas party is organized by the Silver Club, right?"
"Oh, that's right. Is that what they're doing at the Himmelreich?"
"Yes. That's right. Would you like to go with me? You were surprised. The Silver club has an airship. Every year, we have a Christmas party in that airship."
"Oh. At the moment, the organizer is supposed to be the Silver club that owns Himmelreich, but the student council and the Blue club are really in charge. The participants are the Silver club and the Blue club, the student council, students. generals invited by its members and general students who won the lottery. Some teachers. It's a lot of people and it seems to be great every year. The food is amazing and luxurious."
Perhaps Kamamoto's interest was at the end, because he was so strong.
"Last year we had a Christmas party."
"Oh, after all? That's true. You said you had a Halloween party too."
"I see. Then let's reject it.", she thought. It was a bit disappointing, but she would like to participate in the Red club area.
When she said that, Kamamoto frowned, "Okay?"
"…? It's okay?"
"You can't do it with the intention of participating, I think you'd be an ant going there, right?"
"Eh? Aren't you exaggerating? I haven't decided yet or something. Okay, but I'd like to participate with the Red club."
"That would be nice. I see. It's Christmas. We'll be there. So, I should avoid the red dot anyway. I can't be a hub."
"That's right. Good luck. Christmas without you would be boring."
"That's right. Let's do our best, Yata-san."
Kamamoto looked at Yata.
But Yata didn't answer that... that is, didn't he ask? While he was thinking of something, he coughed, "Yes. Christmas. Let's do that at Christmas."
She and Kamamoto looked at each other with raised eyebrows.
"Yata-kun?"
"Yata-san?"
"What?! What is it?"
What was that line?
"I'm thinking about it. What's wrong with you?"
"Hmmm, nothing!"
Yata shook his head with the feeling that it was all "yes".
When that happened, she was irritated.
When she looks at Yata, she smiled.
"Well then. What are we going to do at Christmas?"
"What?! I don't understand! I don't know anything!"
"Yes. I agree. So, tell us what you were thinking now."
"Nothing!"
"Yes. I understand that. That's why I'm translating ..."
"Konohana-san, please forgive me in that area..."
Kamamoto sighed and put his hand on her shoulder.
And in that moment…
"Check it out..."
A secret voice crept into her ears.
She suddenly stopped and looked around her as if that voice invited her.
Down the hall. The boys who were listening shook their shoulders and ran off the moment their gazes met.
"……?"
When he turned his neck, Kamamoto coughed, "Now...".
"Do you know them?"
"A little. It's bad. I remembered what I was doing."
"Eh?"
Kamamoto took out the PDA.
"Yata-san. I'll be back first."
"Eh?"
"Konohana-san. See you later."
"Huh? Oh, yeah. See you later."
When she waved her hand, Kamamoto also turned around and ran back the way he came from.
She turned her eyebrows and looked back at Yata.
"What happened?"
"Let's go."
Yata turned around.
"Mainly, I'll find it."
Some days after. She checks it out when she to see Totsuka at the Purchasing Department at noon. So after all, it looked like there would be a Christmas party at the Red club this year too.
"There is also Konohana-san. There is no reason not to."
"Uh, I'm happy! Great!"
When she laughed and clapped her hands, Totsuka patted her head and said "Okay."
"At that time, I think I can give you good news. I look forward to it."
(Good news? What will it be? And did he say it now?), she thought, but interpreted it as a small Christmas present.
With excitement in her chest, she gave Totsuka a big smile again.
"Yes! I'm looking forward to it!"
++++++++++
Bar "HOMRA".
The interior, which was always elegant and calm, was decorated in Christmas colors and was very beautiful.
The Christmas lily, which was large enough to look up, was pure white. The hanging ornaments were all white. However, only the large tied ribbon was crimson. It was terribly vivid to the eyes.
The lively Christmas song was playing in the store.
Kusanagi made a lot of English-style Christmas cookies, and they all got together.
This was her first time, but unlike Japanese cookies, English cookies had decoration on both sides. And the one with the middle cylinder was the winner. He had a paper crown, various items, and a sheet of paper with Christmas cards and jokes.
They played with it while saying something, enjoying the Christmas food from Kusanagi's hands, they played, talked, laughed and talked more.
Of course, no one was out of place with a red dot.
The Red club always tries its best to play. She thought they all worked hard to play.
She felt that he was appreciating the time he could spend with her friends and she liked seeing them all like this. She was glad to be a part of it.
What was a bit concerning is that Yata was a bit quiet. He was always at the center of the confusion.
He seemed like he was not eating well.
But when she said that to Kamamoto, he said, "Okay. Don't worry. No, pretend you don't know. He's nervous."
"Saya-chan, are you eating?"
"Yes! I ate a lot! The meatloaf was too tasty! Kusanagi-san's food is too tasty. I can't doubt it. Oh, I'm getting fat..."
"Yes. We're going to get a little fat."
"What the heck! I absolutely hate it!"
"Ah! Do you want to go home for the New Year’s holidays? Are you coming to eat osechi and ozoni? The store itself is closed, but hey, these guys are definitely coming."
"Of course. I will come."
"It doesn't matter what you cry. Do it right."
Kusanagi laughed and hit her with a pop.
"What? Are you making Konohana-san cry, Kusanagi-san?"
Totsuka smiled and sat down next to her.
"That is correct. It is a tremendous temptation."
"Eh? Don't be bad. Kusanagi-san."
"As a man, it is natural to persuade a pretty girl. There is no reason to complain."
Kusanagi laughed like a bad boy and left.
After saying goodbye with a smile, Totsuka squeezed his face.
"You know what? Konohana-san. About that matter…"
"That matter?"
"You were harassed before the school festival. You were trapped in the warehouse, right? We found the criminal."
"Eh?!"
She gasped at the unexpected words that she didn't expect.
She yelled a bit and looked at Totsuka seriously.
"Eh? The criminal?"
"Yes. Kamamoto noticed and contacted me. So, with the help of Fushimi, the email they sent you was rescued from the broken PDA at a later date. We also found out that it was sent from a PC."
"……!"
"I questioned the boy and confirmed everyone involved in the mischief."
"Ah…"
"Who was he?"
But before he answered that question, Totsuka put his index finger to his lips and sealed them. When he opened his eyes, Totsuka smiled and shook his head.
"I'll come back to that later. At the moment, you got a lot of attention from the Red club."
"......"
"For that? It's a reason."
Totsuka smiled like he was in a little trouble.
"Because it's a red dot in the red part."
"Eh?!"
The unexpected words surprised her.
The only red dot of the Red club, then?
"You said you wanted to join the club, but you couldn't. You didn't choose. You were very sad, you wanted to join a club, you wanted to get closer to the members, but that didn't come true. You didn't. We didn't have a female member, so he was convinced you couldn't get in because you were a woman until spring. But you got in. The first female member of all time. Surrounded by longing and sheltered people. He was jealous, frustrated, so, he talks to his friends, and it seems like they were getting excited."
"......"
"He didn't mean to hurt you. He wanted to annoy you a bit. That's all. He was shocked when an ambulance came. He said he was sorry. But he was jealous."
"Actually…"
"Kamamoto remembered. Last year, the boy wanted to join the Red club in addition to himself. So the other day when I saw the boy's eyes on Konohana-san, I thought maybe that was it."
"So you were correct?"
"Yes. I also saw his face and remembered. It is true that he wanted to join the club last year, but he couldn't take King's hand."
"……!"
In the spring, Totsuka said it was a rite of passage.
She remembered the hand he showed her, shining Homura's flame.
"Is that all? He thought it was unreasonable. He seemed to interpret that he was rejected because he was pointed out that he could not do it. So I thought, 'he was not chosen'. But no, we do not do that. Kamamoto also said to the boy: 'But Konohana-san didn't even doubt it'."
Totsuka laughed.
"Yes. That was the decisive thing that differentiated Konohana-san from him. It didn't matter if Konohana-san was a Strain or something. Konohana-san trusted us. That made the difference."
"Senpai..."
"You will finally ask a question."
After Totsuka looked at her, he softened his eyes from her.
"Do you want to know about that child? If you want to know, I will tell you the class and the name. Will he also be punished? If Konohana-san wants, he will be punished."
"What punishment?"
When she took a breath at the harsh words, Totsuka simply said, "It's natural."
"He hurt you."
"But!"
"At least I think Konohana-san and Fushimi have the right to punish him."
"......"
But that was...
Reflectively, she shook her head.
No, it wasn't right. She understood that what Totsuka said was also correct, but...
"It bothers you?"
"Yes!"
Totsuka's words were very important.
"I don't like it. It's not about having rights or anything like that."
"You don't want to punish him? Did you have that goal?"
"Yes, but..."
She really understood that person's feeling of envy.
Totsuka smiled at the words.
"I think I can do anything if you don't want to lose this place. No. I can do it."
That was why this was an irreplaceable place for her.
"This place is the 'best' to spend time with my friends."
Thus, she could understand the feelings that he painfully yearned for.
With a pong, one hand rested on her head.
Looking back, Kusanagi's mischievous smile was there.
Everyone laughed as she looked around her.
Suoh was also looking at her sideways.
And the moment her eyes met, Yata showed an awkward smile.
His dedicated, straight line of sight was unbreakable.
Her chest warmed.
That was all. She had a "miracle". She couldn't help but be a little jealous. Rather it could be natural. Because actually, this place is the "best" to spend time with friends.
She smiled a little and looked back at Totsuka.
"I don't have to know the class or the name. I don't want any punishment. If he won't do it anymore, that's fine. That's enough."
"Yes, then I will tell him."
Totsuka laughed softly.
She, too, smiled back at him with a warm feeling.
Outside the window, pure white snow flew in the indigo sky.
"It's okay?"
"It's okay!"
Yata replied with a loud voice that made the volume adjustment stupid.
She instinctively looked at the choked attitude he had when he was on the red side.
A night road with white snow.
As expected, Christmas had arrived. The illuminations were gorgeous and there was still no sign of sleeping in the city.
The way home from the party. Two people were walking down the path to the bedroom.
"Eh? Kamamoto-kun? Oh, Kamamoto-kun stayed at the bar because he helped clean it up."
"He told you to help him too, right? There, he was forced to chase you, saying, "It's okay because it's okay"."
After leaving the store, Yata kept quiet and looked more serious than during the party, and when she was worried about it she asked, "Are you okay?"
Well, if he could make such a strong voice, it would be really fine.
(But what happened? He was really weird today, right? Is there something that worries him? Oh, but Kamamoto-kun said he was nervous, right? Something... Oh! Maybe's the new headmaster of the red club? Will Totsuka announce it at the beginning of the year? Is that it?), thinking about that, she was walking at the time.
Yata stopped suddenly.
When he looked back, wondering, Yata looked at her for a moment and then fell silent, then opened his mouth as if he had decided something.
"I'll only say it once!"
"Eh? Oh, yeah."
She wondered what it was.
As she bowed his head, she was still searching and obediently waiting for Yata's words. This was also the "only time" that he did not come easily.
He could make his face turn bright red and scratch his head, or he could swim his eyes blazing, or suddenly pass out in agony. Just do that or nothing.
(Oh, Yata-kun? Is it snowing? It's really cold though.), she thought.
But somehow she couldn't say "make it faster" so she silently waited for the words.
How long should she wait? When it was colder and harder to stand silently, Yata finally looked directly at her. It was like a challenge.
His eyes with hot flames caught her.
"I like you...!"
"Ah...!"
A shaky and hazy voice seemed to have been desperately squeezed out.
But it pierced her heart more vividly than any word she had ever heard.
She involuntarily held her mouth with her hand.
She got those words from Yata, who was extremely shy... she got it... There was no question.
It was inspiring and so hot her chest ached. Of course, her face was almost on fire. She could no longer feel the cold. That margin had vanished somewhere.
"Ah...!"
The tears were overflowing.
And it was Yata who was scared. When he yelled, "Wow!", her eyes shed tears.
"Wow, too bad! I made you cry..."
"It's different. Not bad. I'm sorry..."
She had no more words.
She knew he was misunderstood, but she couldn't hold back the tears and covered her face with both hands.
"Ah!"
She was very happy.
It was a miracle to her, she was a "monster" a year ago.
The more painful it was, the hotter her chest became. The joy that filled her took her breath away. She was going to drown. She was so happy that it made her want to scream.
It's not that he was anxious, overprotective, and unreliable, but that he was compassionate, masculine, direct, big, and kind.
He always ran to her first, or he would walk away in shame.
Yata, who ran in front of everyone, was the coolest and most trusted. But he couldn't speak well to girls, and he would soon turn bright red and get embarrassed.
With Yata everything was fun, interesting, warm and very comfortable.
"Ah!"
His carefree smile was nice, but she also loved to see him laugh in a complicated and awkward way.
Since the spring, Yata was in everyone's memory of her.
(Oh, that's right. I can understand a little about the feeling of wanting to harass. If Yata-kun was stolen from me, I might even harass him. Because I don't want to leave him, or this place where everyone is.), she thought.
"Ah…"
"Well don't cry. Don't cry. I wonder..."
Yata's voice that seemed to be in trouble made her laugh.
"What? Hey..."
"Ah... it's true..."
He didn't even know why she was crying. She also liked that side of Yata.
She wiped away her tears, laughed and said it.
Just a few words, but they were important words.
"I like you too!"
"......!"
"I understand that I am so happy and crying..."
"Ah…"
At that moment, he hugged her so tightly that she couldn't breathe.
"Ah! I'm so happy, I will die of happiness...!"
"That's my line, Yata-kun."
She was too happy, she was scared, because she had more than a "miracle".
Was it really good? She could be happy.
She thought so, but she could no longer put that happiness aside.
She couldn't even imagine a life without Yata.
She silently felt Yata's body temperature, with great happiness.
However, for a time, he took such a bold action. Yata seemed to have returned to himself immediately, and the next moment, he screamed again and released her.
He apologized for a while saying "Wow, too bad!", but she didn't want him to apologize for that.
It was brief, which is why she found it disappointing.
Although she frowned, Yata's carefree and innocent smile couldn't be followed by a grumpy face, she relaxed and laughed.
"Hurrah!"
Yata held his fist with a bright smile before her.
"It was the best Christmas present!"
Yata's words suddenly exploded.
(But that's my line. A gift that's more than a "miracle", thank you!), she thought.
"First visit of the year to a shrine. Come on."
"Yes."
"Let's go to HOMRA to eat New Year's dishes."
"Yes."
"There are no special events in January, but let's play a lot with everyone."
"Yes."
Yata stepped forward holding her hand. The answer was short, she was nervous.
But that was enough to warm her heart.
She laughed and looked up at the indigo sky with white snow.
"If it stacks up, I want to have a snowball fight."
"Okay."
"Ok, let's go."
He takes out the PDA and check the time.
"I guess they got mad."
"Ah…"
Yata sighed.
The time for the bedroom curfew was past, Yata sighed, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry.
She was very happy about it. Because it was Christmas, and she still wanted to be with him.
When she laughed, she felt terribly happy and held Yata's hand.

Tumblr media
Part One -
The companionable silence within the car provides a stark contrast to the chaos of rush hour on the streets outside. Sam leisurely meanders through the traffic seemingly taking care not to rush the journey, enjoying a rare opportunity for the two of them to steal a fleeting moment to themselves. With their fingers laced together resting on his thigh, as his other commands control of the steering wheel, she steals a lingering glance in his direction relishing in the flutters which catch in her stomach as he notices her watching him. His lips curl into a comfortable smile in reply of her unspoken affection and it takes all his might to keep his eyes on the road.
In the footwell below her feet the distant hum of a phone, neglected in her bag, buzzing faintly to itself punctuates the quiet once again, as it has been for the last ten minutes. Tired of being ignored, the buzzing transforms into a piercing ring causing its owner to startle and refocus. Untangling her fingers from Sam's she reaches down to collect it, her frustration at being interrupted quickly forgotten when she sees her friend's name on the home screen.
"Finally!! So you are alive!" Jenny squeals down the phone without restraint.  The smirk on Sam's face is unmissable as he recognises the shrill voice on the other end of the phone. Katie returns his glance with an eye roll of her own as she braces herself for an interrogation.
"Ok, ok I get it, I'm here now. What's up?"
"You need to ask that gorgeous boss of yours to give you Friday night off, we're taking you out and I won't take no for an answer! It's about time we had a girls night, we've barely seen you since you've been living it up with that sex god."
Katie winces hoping Sam hadn't heard that last bit, subtlety was never Jenny's strong suit. She knows she doesn't need to consider her answer, just thinking of how much she's missed her friends the last few months sparks a pang of guilt deep in heart. A night free from the drama of fiancés, stolen glances and torturous longing sounds perfect.
"That actually sounds great Jen, I'll try my best to come. Aren't we pushing it to get a spot at any of the good places though if we're leaving it this late..."
Jenny scoffs, feigning disbelief that Katie would think she didn’t already have a master plan. If she wasn’t her best friend she’d feel a little insulted.
"You don't think I'm already all over that?! And I mean literally, I've got Josh on the case for us and I definitely got all over that!"
The smugness in her voice carries her words and Katie can't help but giggle as she pictures how her unabashedly forward friend would've convinced her current flavour of the month Joshua Demarco, to use his connections to get them access to the hottest new bar in town. She'd no doubt that while a few flutters of eyelashes and some kind words would have sufficed, it was more likely that Jen would have insisted on giving him something more in return. And that something would most definitely not have been PG.
As the more outgoing and vocal half of their partnership, Jenny has always had a way of charming everybody she meets, her connection with people is effortless, something which Katie finds both admirable and terrifying.
While some could argue that Katie too could charm and impress people effortlessly, she is undoubtedly more comfortable in the background, observing and understanding how things work before weighing in. She notices the details, picking up on key points of conversation, getting to know people on a personal level and drawing on their connections to help assert herself. Jen needed to be visible at all times, she was like the sun, drawing people in to her warmth and reflecting her own energy back at them in return.
"I'll leave it with you then Jen, just text me with the details and I'll see if I can make it. And I don't mean the steamy details of you and Josh, you can save those to share with me over cocktails!" Sam's intensely brooding gaze falls upon her, no doubt trying to glue together the pieces of conversation he'd just overheard. She turns to him realising he probably already suspects there’s a further story to be told. They’d not yet shared much about their lives beyond the penthouse but he’d heard enough to know that she could be easily influenced by her impulsive friend.
"Jen I'd better go, speak soon."
Returning the phone to the depths of her bag, she catches Sam's eye, his expression warm but curious, clearly waiting for her to elaborate.
"Would you mind if I took the night off on Friday? Jen's asked if I can meet her and some friends, we haven't seen each other for ages...."
Unsure where the feeling comes from, the urge to say more rushes over her like a wave crashing on the shore. It’s the same as the feeling of nervousness she had that night a few weeks ago at the diner, almost like first date nerves. Perhaps, she realises,  they’ve resurfaced because her whole life has been tangled with his for the last few months, she's not really sure how to break out of it and step back into her own, or whether he'll let her.
"Obviously I'll make sure I get the boys dinner sorted, the place tidy, laundry done and get them to bed before I head out....and I won't stay out late, I wouldn't want to cause any disruption....unless you've got any pressing work or meetings which means you'll be home late... I can cancel, I know it's short notice..."
"Woah, who are you, Cinderella?!"
The mirth in his tone instantly relaxes her as she realises he's only teasing. While attempting, and failing, to look defiant her nose inevitably crinkles, unable to contain the laughter bubbling to the surface at the silliness of her outburst. He leans over gently resting his hand on her knee to placate her, stroking her delicate skin with his thumb.
"Of course you should go out with your friends."
"Really?"
"Definitely." He continues, "as much as I would love to keep you to myself I know that you have a life of your own to live too and you, more than anyone, deserve to go out and enjoy yourself."
Sweeping his hand into her own, she gracefully brings it to her lips, tickling featherlight kisses along his knuckles.
"Thank you....but I don't know that you'd really want me to let my hair down if you knew how our girls nights usually play out..."
A wicked smile casts on her lips as she looks at him from under her long eyelashes, she continues to caress his hand, her lips teasing his skin with every word. He struggles to keep his eyes on the road, his mind racing with the many possible indiscretions which he imagines could take place on girls night, especially with Jenny at the helm. The visions in his mind entrance him and he can't decide whether he wishes he was part of them, or that she wasn't.
"I see, a bit of an every man for himself situation is it?!"
He pulls her hand over to his lap where he secures it on his thigh under his own. His hope that by keeping his hand on hers he can keep her grounded to him before losing her to the inhibitions of the impending night out.
"Let's just say it'll be a hot mess of short skirts, high heels, cocktails and getting sweaty on the dance floor."
Realising that the car has come to a stop at a red light she turns to Sam looking him straight in the eye as she slides her hand brazenly up his thigh. She can feel his pants straining to contain what's growing within them while his chest visibly rises and falls more rapidly, struggling to control the pulsing hunger running through him.
"But don't worry, we usually only break a few hearts".
Unable to restrain himself any longer, he launches across the centre console, holding her head in his hands and devouring her mouth with his hungry wet lips. She lets herself fall deeply into his kiss, smiling against him as she thinks to herself that she should ask for time off more often.
The light turns to green and then red again, disgruntled drivers behind sounding their horns in annoyance as the immaculate silver Audi blocks their path, but neither occupant notices as they loose themselves in one another.
Her gentle hands press against Sam's muscular chest, marvelling in the ripples beneath her fingers, before sliding them up into his hair pulling him deeper into the kiss. He keeps one hand firmly at the back of her neck, anchoring her to him while the other roams down the curves of her body, his thumb tweaking a now erect nipple before grasping at her hip.
Intruding on their entanglement, the sound of the in-car phone system echoes around the plush detailing of the car, with 'Home' appearing on the display. Breaking apart in surprise, they finally catch a breath. Sam rests his forehead intimately against hers as he gives the voice command to answer the call and Mason's innocent voice pours out of the speakers.
"Hey dad, are you gonna be home soon? We're staaarving." It's impossible for Katie not to break into a smile as she thinks about the boys at home with Carter, no doubt teaching him all sorts of tricks which she'd never let them get away with. Sam notices her thoughtful smile and matches it with his own as their minds work as one imaging the same scene. Their eyes once again meet as they resign themselves to the intimate moment being lost, instead committing it to memory to recall again when the urge to immerse themselves in thoughts of each other inevitably come to call.
"Yeah buddy, I've just picked up Katie and we're heading home now."
The smile in Mason's voice is evident as his tone becomes more upbeat.
"Oh great, Katie's with you?...Hey Katie!"
"We missed you today, why'd you have to spend the day with Suck...I mean with Sofia anyways?!" Mickey interrupts, his fear of missing out pushing him to insert himself in the conversation.
Sam and Katie stifle their giggles at Mickey's slip of the tongue, aware of the microphone above their heads. Sam places a soft kiss on Katie's forehead before pulling away begrudgingly as she in turn adjusts her position, smoothing over her now crumpled skirt.
"Hi boys, I missed you too. I was just helping her with some grown up work stuff, definitely not as fun as a day with you monkeys though.”
Much to the relief of the drivers behind them, Sam's already breezing through the now green light towards the penthouse, this time with more urgency as the sky above begins to melt into dusk.
"How about your dad and I pick up some pizza on our way back...."
Without even a moments hesitation the twins excited voices burst through the speakers once again.
"Score!"

the coffee shop boy - njm
Tumblr media
new coffee shop employee! jaemin / little rivalry b/w reader x jaemin hehe / just lots of teasing eachother and some fluff too
some references to my jeno imagine for my nct dream job au series!
link to my masterlist so you can read the others!
a/n: inspired by katie & aiden’s story in ‘alexa & katie’ on netflix! pls stream it hehe
word count: 3.9k - hope you all enjoy :)
//
the first time you met na jaemin was in front of the cafe you worked at. your manager was running a donation drive where customers could donate toys or books for the local children’s hospital. you offered to bake complementary cookies for each person who donated. so there you were, standing outside the cafe, handing out cookies. you swore you turned away for one second, when you heard someone halt infront of the stand. the person swiftly grabbed a handful of cookies, shoving one into their mouth. you turn back around, glaring at the clueless boy infront of you.
“excuse me! those are only for people who have donated” you sternly informed, the boy still not having any sign of regret,
“my bad, i just see free cookies” he smirked, taking another bite of one. you reached to grab the others that were in his hands, but he ended up pulling away before you could reach him. you felt your body tip over the table, the plate of cookies and some donations, falling onto the ground. you loudly groan to yourself, quickly standing up and brushing off any dirt on your apron. your manager, doyoung, immediately rushed outside and to his dismay, he only saw you and a broken table with cookies scattered everywhere. the mysterious boy just took off, what an asshole.
“y/n, clean this up, now” doyoung orders, as you nod. you hoped that boy never came anywhere near the cafe ever again, or you might as well just lose it entirely.
“and then, he grabbed the cookies and took off! if i ever see him again i want to give him a piece of my mind” you rant as your friend lia listens carefully. you were both eating lunch at a random restaurant she had heard about.
“he sounds like a dick” lia shakes her head in disappointment as you both chew on your fries.
“i know right! and now doyoung thinks i’m incapable of being assistant manager” you grunt, frustrated at the events of the day prior.
“don’t be so negative! you are a loyal employee and you are good at your job. you’ll get promoted soon, i’m sure of it” lia gives your an assuring smile, as you nod along with her. you were glad to have her by your side whenever you would rant like this, it helped you not completely lose it.
“hey! cookie girl!” you heard a sudden voice echo through the restaurant. both you and lia turned to the voice calling you, only to be met with the boy from yesterday.
“you’ve got to be kidding me” you groaned, putting on a small, fake smile to greet to boy.
“fancy seeing you here, stalking me now right?” he chuckled to himself, approaching your table. lia looked over at you with a ‘what the hell?’ expression, you just widened your eyes, unsure of how to respond to either of them.
“whatever helps you sleep at night” you respond, as jaemin just smirks.
“sorry about the cookies by the way. don’t get offended but, they weren’t that good to begin with” he slyly poked at you. you wanted to give him a good lecture about how hard you worked on those damn cookies but you noticed how lia was getting concerned about your next moves. you took a deep breath before giving the boy another blunt answer,
“you’re entitled to your own wrong opinion. now may you please leave me and my friend alone?” you just shot another fake smile, as jaemin couldn’t take his eyes off you. you started feeling repulsed by just his gaze, why did he have to stare for such long periods of time?
“sure thing, see you around” he winks before heading out of the restaurant.
“who the hell was that? is he the cookie thief?!” lia’s mouth was agape as you nodded.
“he was indeed. i just want to wipe that grin off his face!” you cross your arms in frustration. lia just rolls her eyes,
“he’s kinda cute, don’t you think?” she starts to wiggle her eyebrows as you throw a fry at her.
“you have a boyfriend!” you begin to tease as she starts blushing,
“jeno doesn’t need to know” she jokes as you both begin laughing.
(a/n: yes the jeno here is from the bubble tea girl au hehe)
you were happy that lia had a boyfriend, but it often made you feel distant from her. you felt like you couldn’t ask her to hang out as much, incase she had plans with jeno. you knew that she would have dropped everything to hang out with you, but you still felt guilty if she ditched jeno like that. you wished that you had a boyfriend of your own, so you could hang out all together without the awkward third wheel vibe. but that was a long shot for you, or so you thought.
//
it had been a solid two weeks since that interaction with jaemin, in which you still didn't know his name yet. after constant hassling, doyoung promoted you to assistant manager.
"we have a new employee coming in today, i need you to train him" doyoung orders as you nod in agreement.
"never fear! i'll teach him everything in my barista 101 guide!" you smile, pulling out a pastel green notebook with random coloured tabs sticking out of it.
"i didn't ask, but you do you" doyoung shrugs, patting your shoulder before heading to the back room. doyoung always picked on you, but you were sure, you were his favourite employee.
you were fixing up any last notes in your guide, when you heard the bell above the door ring. you set everything aside, ready to take the next order. you look up, eyes meeting those of the boy you never wanted to see again.
"you" you huff out, eyes immediately glaring, face now stone cold.
"me" jaemin smiled widely, walking up to the counter, leaning his elbows on the top of it.
"fall on any more tables yet?" he chuckled to himself as you mimicked his words, turning away from him to continue writing in your book. he had some nerve teasing you like that.
"y/n, what are you doing? this is jaemin, the new employee" doyoung bursted out of the backroom, standing behind you. you instantly froze, looking over to jaemin who was now standing up straight with his arms crossed over his chest. he had bright blue hair, a blue denim jacket on, and that damn smirk of his plastered on his face. you couldn't stop glaring, slowing moving to face jaemin and doyoung.
"just train him well okay? i don't want to have to deal with any mess in here" doyoung sighed, walking away from the both of you. jaemin had his eyes fixed on you.
"you know just cause you're cute and all, doesn't mean this job is going to be easy" you muttered as you dig behind the counter to find jaemin a spare apron.
"oh so you think i'm cute?" you could hear the flirtatious tone leaving his mouth. you shot up from behind the counter and threw the apron forcefully at his face. to your displeasure, he ended up catching it before it could hit him. jaemin tied the apron on himself, meeting you behind the counter.
"let's get started shall we. i have written pretty much everything you need to learn in this book right here! it's a beginner's guide, with all my best tips and tricks so i-" you were interrupted by jaemin fiddling with the coffee machine, not paying attention to a single word that left your mouth. you groaned in annoyance, watching as he handed you the cup of coffee he had just made.
"try it" he urged you, observing your every move. you cautiously look at him and then at the cup in your hands. you didn't want to admit it, but it looked and smelled pretty good. you slowly took a sip of the warm drink, eyes avoiding those of jaemin. you hated to compliment him, but the boy had some skills. you felt jaemin's eyes on you, ready for your verdict.
"it's alright i guess" you sigh, trying to play off how impressed you were. jaemin just chuckled, knowing he was already doing a good job.
"i don't need that little book of yours, i think i'm just about perfect" you rolled your eyes at the taller boy, giving him a small slap on the shoulder.
"get to work buddy, tables need some wiping and coffees need to be made" you made your way to the cash register, beginning to take orders as customers entered the shop. jaemin couldn't help but shake his head at your bossy persona. he found it entertaining, but also quite enticing. he couldn't wait to work with you more.
//
weeks had passed since jaemin started working at the coffee shop. he never asked for any of your help, making you quite frustrated that he wouldn't even listen to a single piece of advice you had. it's as if your authority as assistant manager and his trainer, was thrown out the window. you were getting ready to start your shift, noticing jaemin drawing something on the front window with some paint pens.
"what the hell are you doing? doyoung hates it when we mess with the window art!" you nag at the blue haired boy. jaemin just rolls his eyes, turning back at you,
"can you like stop nagging me for one minute?" he responds, continuing to draw on the window. you let out a small huff, and as if on cue, doyoung approaches both of you.
"ooo you're in troubleee" you slyly mutter, waiting for the scene to unfold. jaemin turns to face doyoung, who at first didn't say a word.
"jaemin, i didn't give you permission to do this" doyoung started, you felt yourself perk up at the possibility of jaemin getting scolded.
"but i was kind of wanting a new design anyway, your doodles are quite nice actually. keep it up" doyoung smiles, looking over at your pissed off expression. he just pats your shoulder before heading off to do business of his own.
"you can't bust me, sweetie. i'm just that good" jaemin walks closer to you, backing your up against the counter.
"you are so infuriating" you grunt through your teeth, eyes meeting jaemin’s. he had a slight kindness in his eyes. as if he was pleading for you to not to be so mad at him. jaemin chuckled softly,
"you're gonna just have to deal with it then" he leaves you stunned as he walked behind the counter, starting to take orders.
was he always this handsome?
you shook your head from your thoughts, na jaemin was utterly unbearable to be around, so why couldn't you stop thinking about him?
//
"you know what he did the other day?" you begin another rant, this time lia and jeno were your audience.
"what did he do?" lia played along, looking over at jeno who was invested in your story.
"so, you know suzy? the dreaded middle aged woman who always complains about her coffee having too much sugar? yeah well, jaemin served her the other day and she complimented him! right infront of me!" you started to pout. lia started giggling causing jeno to start giggling as well.
"what's so funny?" you furrow your eyebrows at the couple.
"doesn't sound like you hate him all that much to me" jeno smirked, wiggling his eyebrows at you. you just give him a scowl in return.
"no you see jeno, y/n hides her feelings for jaemin through all this teasing, and so does he. it’s adorable" lia commented, causing you to know scowl at her.
"you guys are being ridiculous! he is so infuriating, no one can be that perfect at making coffees? especially a beginner anyway" you continue being stubborn as your friends just roll their eyes, already convinced you were in complete and utter denial.
you went home that day, thinking back to the times you felt yourself stare a bit too long at jaemin. he was so charismatic, he could practically charm any person who entered the shop. he had doyoung, the most stone cold person you had met, wrapped around his finger. he was the perfect barista, and could even do coffee art. you envied how good he was, considering it took you months to perfect your own skills. you knew that hating jaemin wasn't the way to handle this whole situation, but it was much easier than having him know that you sort of liked him.
//
you were writing down stuff in your weekly planner, it helped you stay organised with your daily tasks so you knew you wouldn’t forget anything. well, except your pastel green notebook. you swore you had left it at work, but for the past week you hadn’t been able to find it. you were slowly starting to accept that you lost it, and all your hard work over the past 6 months was for nothing. you let a soft groan, finishing up your final sentence, as you heard the boy next to you clear his throat.
“may i help you?” you move your head to face him, not realising he was already inches close to you. you immediately froze, unsure of what to do next.
“you’re slacking off, i can’t make all these coffees on my own”  jaemin smirked, like he had many times before but this time, you couldn’t help but admire how handsome he was up close.
“i- well uh, yeah sorry” you stuttered, pulling away from the boy. jaemin just sighed, he didn’t understand why it was so hard to talk to you. he wanted to get close to you, possibly even ask you out, but your repeated attempts to ignore him during your shifts together had deflated his confidence. you caught yourself glancing over at him multiple times during work, watching how he interacted so kindly with customers and somehow always kept his composure when being lectured by doyoung.
you were about to close up, making sure to double check that the bathrooms were clean. as you made your way back to the counter, you caught jaemin in the act. he was reading from your notebook. the one you thought you had lost. he didn’t see you approaching, making it an even better bust.
“AHA! i knew it! you read my book” you exclaimed, catching the boy off guard, causing him to fall into his butt. you couldn’t help but laugh at his exaggerated reaction, before helping him from behind the counter.
“it’s not what it looks like” he just sighs, knowing he had already been caught.
“oh really? cause it looks like you were reading my book, and have possibly been following every single piece of advice in it” you continued to tease, a bright smile plastered on your face. jaemin couldn’t help but crack a smile back at you, nodding in defeat.
“yes okay, i read your book. it helped a lot! is that what you wanna hear?” jaemin could feel the redness flush his cheeks and the tops of his ears. you couldn’t help but gush over how hilarious the situation was.
“and here i was, thinking you were a barista prodigy! well na jaemin, you just got schooled!” you started getting up in his face, watching as the taller boy just shook his head at your incredibly quirky antics. he found you adorable, not that he would admit it anytime soon.
from that day onwards, you and jaemin bickered less. of course you’d still poke fun at him now and then for initially taking your book, but it was all fun and games.
“y/n look!” you heard him call, as you were both closing up that night. jaemin had smeared on a foam moustache on his face, attempting to make you laugh. you just threw a dirty towel at him, rolling your eyes at us childish antics.
“god you’re such a loser” you smile softly, removing your apron. jaemin wipes off the foam, placing the towel away, before removing his own apron.
“you know, i think that all this teasing from you, is really a way for you to hide how much you like me” his words made you freeze. you didn’t want to face him. you weren’t sure if he was kidding or not, so you opted to just crack another witty comment, to avoid any more awkwardness.
“in your dreams, i do it because you’re just easy to make fun of. it’s what friends do” you shrug, looking over at the blue haired boy. you were expecting atleast a small smile to come from jaemin, but instead, he had an unreadable expression. he approached you slowly, causing you to shuffle backwards, your back now pressing against one of the cupboards behind the counter. jaemin places his right hand next to your head, leaning closer to you. you felt your breath hitch as he stared into your eyes. jaemin didn’t want to keep beating around the bush, he needed to know how you felt, and soon.
“ so you’re telling me, we are just friends?” he mumbles, quiet enough for only you to hear. you could practically feel him begging for you to deny it, but your heart wasn’t sure if you were completely in it. of course you found jaemin attractive, who wouldn’t? but to be in a relationship or even start something more than a friendship, with anyone was a huge step for you. you had never had a boyfriend before, and watching your friends experience immense heartbreaks in the past, made you unsure of your own experiences.
“y-yeah jaemin, we’re just friends” you whisper, watching as jaemin’s face softens. you didn’t know if he was upset, hurt, or both. but you knew something was off. jaemin just nodded, packing up his things.
“have a nice night, y/n” jaemin gave you a small wave before exiting the coffee shop. you felt your heart tighten, what the hell was he doing to you?
//
“y/n, i’m your best friend and all, but you’re an idiot. jaemin clearly likes you and you have just ruined your chances!” lia sighs, comforting you the next day. you just nod, knowing everything she said was true.
“i know i messed up. i just don’t want to get his hopes up if i’m a shit girlfriend or something” you worry, unsure whether you could really show jaemin the appreciation as love he deserved.
“stop being so afraid! don’t stay sheltered! if you like him, you should tell him. you deserve to be in a happy relationship, never doubt that” lia pulls you in for a long hug and you begin t think about what you wanted to say to jaemin, the next time you saw him. you knew she was right. if you didn’t confess soon, it would eat at you inside about what could have been. it was time to take a chance.
//
at your next shift at the coffee shop, jaemin came in late. he apologised to doyoung who didn’t mind, as today was fairly slow. he would usually shoot a witty comment at you before he started making drinks, but today he just gave you a small smile without a single word. your heart clenched at how he was acting. but you knew exactly why he was doing it. you wanted to wait until closing time, to properly talk with jaemin. but you couldn’t help but notice how down he looked whilst he was serving customers. it really must have affected him a lot. you tried to talk to him during your shift, standing next to him as he was making a drink.
“h-hey, how are you?” you tried to start, watching as jaemin halts his movements. he turned his head to face you, the expression was unreadable. jaemin knew he was being petty for giving you the cold shoulder. it wasn’t like he could have forced you to like him back, especially since he hadn’t properly right out confessed to you.
“i-i’m alright, and you?” he tried to act as normal and nonchalant as possible.
“i’m okay i guess” you mumble, unsure of how to continue. you were thankful that jaemin had to serve more customers, cutting your conversation short.
you waited for the clock to strike 9:30pm, as it was time to start closing up. doyoung tossed you the keys before he finished his shift earlier that day, leaving both you and jaemin to pack up together. jaemin had finished cleaning the bathrooms and all the tables as you worked on the countertops and back area. you made eye contact with him from across the room. he looked so solemn, as if he would rather be anywhere else but here with you. you sighed to yourself, knowing what was on his mind. you approached the blue haired boy slowly. he watched your every move, his heart beat increasing with every step you took.
“i lied” you blurt out as his eyes furrowed, confused at your words.
“when you asked me if i thought we were just friends. i lied. i don’t think of you as just a friend, jaemin. i-i think of you as something more” you avoid his eyes, watching as he sets down the dirty towels onto the nearest table. he pulls your chin up with his fingers, making sure you were looking at him directly.
“why didn’t you just say so?” he had that cocky smirk on again, which would have drove you nuts before, but now you found really attractive.
“i was in denial, okay? i didn’t know if you really liked me back or not and i guess i was just scared about what to do next” you admitted, as jaemin’s lips formed a small pout.
“you drive me crazy” jaemin smiled, cupping the side of your face with his left hand, softly caressing your cheek with his thumb.
“well so do you” you mumbled while blushing.
“just so you can hear me say it, i like you too. kinda have been trying to drop hints. you’re completely oblivious” he playfully teased, causing you to give him a small shove. you couldn’t help but smile at him as he pulled your face closer to his with both his hands on your cheeks. you move your hands to wrap around his neck, watching as his smile widened.
“bold move there” he muttered, lips brushing briefly over yours.
“can you just kiss me already?” you whine, which made jaemin’s heart burst. he nodded eagerly before connecting your lips with his. he moved one hand to grab your waist and the other was left caressing your cheek. you couldn’t believe you were kissing the same guy who stole your cookies months ago.
jaemin suddenly pulls away, mumbling,
“i knew you’d fall for me, i mean i am a catch”
“you really know how to ruin a moment don’t you?” you pull away from his completely, letting his take his hand in yours.
“yeah but we have a lot of time to have more moments, won’t we?” jaemin pulls you to his side,
“we sure will” you smile up at him, leaning in for another kiss when you were interrupted by a familiar voice,
“i freaking knew it! you two better not do this lovey dovey stuff during your shift otherwise i’m firing one of you” doyoung warmed as you both burst into laughter.
you didn’t know what you were getting yourself into with jaemin. but that was the thrill of it all. he was constantly surprising you with new things about himself. you completely adored him, as he did with you. you realised it was okay to let yourself be vulnerable, you never know what you could get out of it.
a/n: ahhh i loved writing this one! let me know if there were any mistakes! x

You said you were looking for writing prompts so how about a reverse AU type of thing where Prince Link enters a Rito archery competition disguised as a Rito (in a rito mask because the King doesn't want him fighting or competing so he does it in secret) and beats Revali (by one point) before disappearing. Now Revali is obsessed with finding out the identity of the Rito who beat him because he may or may not want to settle the score (ie court him.)
Oml I love this so much. I kinda deviated from the og idea a little bit just to work with what was going on in my head. I hope it’s okay. Also thank you to my Revalink discord friends for helping me some ideas for how to link (hehe, link) scenes, i was mega stuck for a hot minute.
I decided to split this into two parts.
(low key should I put this on Ao3?)
Italics is sign language
Word count: 1595
Ship: Revalink, Revali/Link
"Are you sure this will work?" Link asked, surveying the merchants many elixirs.
"Positive! I've tested them me'self. That elixir there will turn you into a Rito. Twenty four hours guaranteed."
Nodding, Link dropped a bag of rupees onto the counter. "I'll take five."
The merchant grinned, inspecting his new riches. "Pleasure doing business with you young man."
Link pocketed the elixirs, and hopped up onto his rented horse. The steed pulled against the reigns willfully, and Link wished Epona wasn't as recognizable as she was.
It wasnt hard to miss his royal steed, and if he had brought her he would be caught for sure.
No, he couldn't be caught. He needed to know whether his nightly training was worth it. He needed to know if he could beat the greatest archers in Hyrule.
~~
Seeing the tall rocky formation from the stable was a great relief to the prince, as the long ride had tired him out. He dropped his horse off, and walked to a nearby pond. He squeezed his eyes shut and drank the elixir.
He probably shouldnt have been as shocked as he was when he looked at his reflection. Golden feathers speckled with light blue covered his whole body. Lifting his hand- or his wing to his light blue beak, he opened and closed his mouth in amazement.
Backing away from the pond, he stumbled a bit on his taloned feet. "How do Ritos walk like this?" Link thought, as he started his way to the village.
~~
The older inspected the small boy up and down. "You're quite small to he in an archery competition... are you sure you can even pull back the string?"
Links feathers puffed up, embarrassed. "Yes I can..."
The Rito laughed. "Whatever you sat kid... What's your name?"
"Link." He said without thinking.
"Ah... same name as the pretty boy prince of Hyrule huh? Not exactly a common name is it?"
Link hesitated. "Right.".
The Rito waved him past the check in, towards the range. "Good luck."
Sighing, releaved, Link went over to pick out a bow. The range supplied bows so that no ones would have an opportunity to cheat.
"These are worthless pieces of crap" a voice announced near Link.
Turning to see who had spoken, Link saw a dark blue Rito, inspecting the bows.
"My bow is far superior to any of these... used bows..." the words dripped from the dark blue Rito's mouth as if he was talking about some muck on the bottom of his shoe.
"Isn't that the point though? That we all have the same quality bows?" Link inquired, curious as to why this Rito found used bows so repulsive.
"Tsk, and I suppose you also believe that it's not about winning it's about having fun." Sarcasm leaked from every word.
Link flushed, choosing to just pick up a bow and walk away. As he walked away he could feel the blue feathered Ritos eyes burning a hole in his back.
~~
Link lined up with the other Rito, feeling utterly dwarfed by their height. He somehow kept his julian height, and was at least a head shorter than most others around him.
The blue Rito he'd ran into before was a few spaces away from him, also looking quite short next to his competitors.
The older Rito he'd talked to earlier stepped in front of the lineup. "The rules are simple. Furthest away from the target is eliminated. Missing the target is automatic disqualification, as is cheating. Good luck."
Taking a deep breath, Link adjusted his stance. This would be where he found out whether all of his training in secret was worth it.
Adjusting his stance, Link lifted the bow. It was heavier than he was used to, but his feathers seemed better adjusted to hold the weight. He pulled back the string, and let the arrow fly.
His arrow slammed in the second outer circle. Link smiled, proud that he was still in the competition.
"Tsk." Link heard to the left of him. That Rito he'd talked to earlier was looking at his target with distaste.
He had hit in the center circle, closer to a bullseye than any of the other targets. Yet he looks disappointed.
"Oh c'mon Revali, you'll get it next time." Teased the Rito next to him.
Link looked away, this Rito was too cocky for Link's taste. He nocked an arrow, preparing for the next round.
~~
Round after round passed, Link becoming more and more comfortable with each arrow.
At last, he and one final Rito, Revali, were the only two left standing. The Rito shot him an overexaggerated, unimpressed look.
"Well I suppose we should just pack it up now... I can't imagine this will be too difficult."
Link clenched his jaw in annoyance.
"Nothing to say oh short one? Very well then." Revali turned back towards the target, tugging on the bow string lightly.
Link shook his head, turning back to the targets as well. He wouldn't let this overconfident Rito ruin this. He took a deep breath, pulling back the string.
Thunk
The echo of an arrow slamming into a tree. But it wasn't Link's arrow.
Revali was staring in shock at his arrow, stuck firmly in a tree a few feet away from his target. Link's own arrow was planted less than an inch from the center.
He had won.
"No! That was a mistake, I demand a redo!" Revali insisted, feathers fluffed up in annoyance. It might have looked cute if Link didn't know it was him the Rito was angry at.
"Revali you missed... meaning you lose... just accept it." A Ritos voice popped up from the side.
Shooting a glare that could kill, Revali slammed the bow back into the stand, and took off in the direction of the village.
After a moment of awkward silence, Link was crowded in a large mass of Rito congratulating him. He tensed, not used to having to being so crowded. Life in the castle was mostly him doing his duty of preparing to be king someday. His assigned knight and best friend Zelda and his father were the only company he was used to having.
~~
Revali POV
Landing in the flight range, Revali cursed under his breath. "Those ridiculous bows... they're not the right adjustments... it's their fault."
He supposed the small Rito was a good opponent. Certainly was interesting compared to the usual supposed competition he crushed.
The way he held the bow was interesting as well, it resembled the bow hold of a Hylian. Perhaps he grew up near a Hylian settlement. Though that was highly unlikely. Not many Rito strayed from the village that they grew up in. Many would leave the roost and travel for a few years, but they most always returned to the village to let their family grow.
Revali smiled as an idea came over him. “Perhaps I could convince him to a rematch. Certainly he wouldn’t want anyone questioning the legitimacy of his win.”
Climbing into his hammock, Revali was satisfied that this would solidify his win, and prove that he was still the greatest archer the Rito had ever seen.
~~
The village the next morning was buzzing with news that the great Revali had finally met his match. It took everything in him not to stop and tell the gossipers the truth, that the yellow Rito’s win was nothing but a fluke on the fault of his bow.
He took a deep breath and steeled himself. Find the Rito first, then prove that it was a mistake.
“Would you happen to know where that Rito would be? I would like to apologize for my outburst yesterday.” Revali lied through his beak.
“You just missed him.” The gossiper said, looking at him with- Oh dear Hylia that better not be pity he saw in her face. “The lad checked out of the inn not an hour ago, walked in the direction of the stable.”
Nodding, the blue Rito climbed up to one of the landing decks, and flew in the direction of the stable. Surely he would be able to catch his competitor before he got too far away. After all, not all birds had his gale.
~~
Revali was frustrated. Not only was his competitor not at the stable. But no one had actually seen him leave the stable. The only thing to go by was that apparently his name was Link.
The last sighting of him was when he arrived at the Rito stable, yet no one had seen him leave.
Eventually Revali gave up. Moved on, he claimed. If anyone asked, he would deny that thoughts of the mysterious archer graced his thoughts every day.
And it was definitely because revali was angry about his mess up, not because he wanted to know how soft the others feathers were. It definitely wasn't because he was attractive. No, definitely not.
Shakes head head, Revali turned over in his hammock. It did no good to lose sleep over someone hed never see again.
But here he was, the day before he was to depart for Hyrule castle, thinking about that elusive Rito.
As the winner of first place seemed to be long gone, Revali was supposed to show off his skills to the royalty in Hyrule castle for winning second place. Perhaps king would be impressed and offer him a place in the castle.
Who was he kidding, of course the king would be impressed, he was the great Revali after all.

MVP | Jeon Jungkook | final part.
Tumblr media
Pairing: [soccer player] Jungkook x reader feat jimin.
Warnings: angst | smut! | cheating confession.
Parts:
One / two / three / four
Word count: 8134 (it took me forever to write this part)
A/N: I'm sorry in advance!!
Masterlist
You stopped your car and glanced over at jimin's house, you shut your engine off so you couldn't hear it rattling anymore it was giving you a headache, it was quieter now you feel the nervousness take over you completely that you found it hard to open the car door and get out.
You didn't notice jimin walking out of his house. he obviously knew your car and jogged towards it, knocking on your window.
"_____?" Jimin questioned smiling warmly at you pulling you out of your trance, startled you fumble with the door handle swinging it open "hey jimin" your voice was shaky as you got out of your car rubbing your sweaty palms against your jeans.
You didn't think you'd see him just yet.
He smiled and opened his arms taking you in for a hug, you felt the weight of the world on your shoulders subsiding, you missed his hugs, you missed spending time with him, you just missed your bestfriend.
After what happened you're lucky that you got a chance to make it right with him again.
"You drove all the way here?" Jimin questioned laughing at the end because he was honestly impressed ,you pulled from the hug "I came to say I'm sorry..." you mutter just loud enough for him to hear.
His gaze softened "_____" he whined giggling softly "it's okay I forgave you" he tells you tracing your cheek with his thumb the smile didn't leave his face at all which made you relax "I'm sorry too..what I said back then about you and um...that was uncalled for it" he rubs the back of his neck, embarrassed.
"But you were right about everything!" You cry, you just couldn't handle not crying anymore, he pulls you back in a tighter embrace rocking you side to side hushing your cries while he runs his fingers through your hair "I'm sorry for not being there for you"
jimin continued to say while holding you in his arms "I never meant to hurt you I should have punched him before he even thought of approaching you" you knew he was beating himself for it you pull away wiping your tears looking at him with glossy eyes "I don't deserve you park jimin" you sniffle.
He giggles "I know, you deserve the world" he pokes your cheek, ruffling your hair as you both chuckle "come here stop crying it's almost Christmas!" He tells you while pulling you in for another hug you wiped away your tears and finally smiled.
"So we're okay?" You ask looking up at him smiling softly "we're more than okay munchkin" he tells you with a grin knowing how much you hated that pet name you shove him off laughing "last one in the house is a donkey" you yell behind you running towards his house.
He gasps "you little-" he follows you trying to catch up with you, the sound of your and his laughter echoes in the streets making your heart blossom with happiness and contentment.
This is the friendship you missed with jimin, for a moment there you had completely forgotten about jungkook and that part in your mind that calls out for him didn't bother you while you're with your bestfriend and for that you were thankful.
_
The drive back to you was longer than it should have been, making Jungkook drive recklessly and yell and shout at the others on the road to make him pass through.
It was christmas eve so the streets were busy and crowded, so much traffic he wanted to scream, he shouldn't have taken this too far and for what? to make you jealous? You weren't even fazed. apart of him was starting to fear that you started to move on and he didn't want to push you away this far.
So he just couldn't wait any longer, he needed to get to you and make it right, even though he still didn't figure out what he'll do with the girl sitting next to him; he was planning to finally tell her the truth after christmas passes he just can't keep leading her on like this or hurt you anymore.
He wanted to make sure that you knew he loved you and is willing to fight for your relationship no matter what the price is.
As he turns around the corner another traffic welcomes his car and he sighs in annoyance slamming his feet on the breaks to stop the car completely until the cars infront of his start moving.
Which by the looks of it won't be happening soon.
He glances at his girlfriend, she was awfully quiet the whole ride back to Seoul, he didn't try to chat with her either, he didn't feel their spark anymore and it was hard for him to maintain it any longer he looks over at her and she looks like... she had been crying silently.
He got worried for a second, did he hurt her by his reckless driving? He did make sudden turns and stops he definitely could have hurt her..
He turned to face her pushing the strand of her hair that had fallen on her face covering it, she flinches from his touch and moves her head away from him making his eyebrows furrow with confusion.
"Nari?" He softly calls her, pulling his hand back, she sniffs and looks away "Baby what's wrong?" He asks placing his hand on her thigh, she pushes his hand off taking a deep breath.
"I know about you and  _____" she declares, turning her eyes to stare into his wide ones, his blood runs cold.
He could feel every emotion drain from him, he could feel ropes around his throat tightening by the second making it hard to breath.
He just stared at her and he cursed himself for not finding any word to say.
"The night I was over at your dorm sleeping over, you told me you left to get something from taehyung's.. my friend who lives next door saw you and _____" she sniffles wiping her tears, her voice is steady and slow even though she had been crying for awhile it seems.
And even though she was being calm jungkook still found it hard to process her words, it was like she was speaking another language, he felt like a part of his world started to collapse, he didn't want her to find out.
Not like this. Not ever until it was the right time.
"It's not what you think I was just checking on her because jimin asked me t-" Jungkook tried to say but she cut him off "Eun saw you kiss her!" Nari shouted rolling her eyes as more tears stream down her face "when will you come clean?" She weeps making his heart break at the way her voice finally broke echoing in the car.
"I knew all along!" She turned to him, her eyes were puffy and blood shot "but I was hoping the confession would come from you, not my friend!"
His head hangs low, he was at a loss of words he didn't know how to respond he looked away feeling slightly ashamed.
"Eun just confirmed what I already knew, you and her really played me like a fool, you thought you had it all figured out huh?" She mocks him "she was even dumb enough to wear your Jersey and come home reeking of your smell!" She cried her arms waved around as she spoke.
"I just want to know what I lacked..I wish you came and told me I wasn't good enough instead of cheating on me with the girl I live with and see every day!" She sobbed "do you have any idea how hard it was for me to live with someone who I knew was betraying me and my trust and with who? My own boyfriend!" she yelled at him.
He was tounge tied, he just let her talk he looked straight ahead trying to block her voice and not surrender to the guilt that was eating him.
"I trusted you! I gave you all of me but Jeon Jungkook that's never enough is it?" She laughs rolling her eyes pushing her hair away from her face.
He never saw her like this and they dated for quite a while. he never saw her this heartbroken and he hated himself for not finding the ability to comfort her or apologize for what he had done.
A few minutes of silence pass but they felt like a year until she spoke again opening the car door;
"I don't want to see you or her ever again...forget I even existed because I'm done with your bullshit" she told him getting out of the car "where are you going?" He yelled feeling furious now, does she have to make a scene? "I'm getting the hell away from you what does it look like I'm doing?" she spat shutting the car door after her harshly, not spareing him another glance.
He rubs his face, frustrated.
He could go after her but he felt relived, he didn't feel sorry, yes he cared about her but it was time he finally let go so he decided it's better that he doesn't because what would going after her really do for him or her? He already cheated; multiple times.
There's no way for anything to be mended in this relationship and he knew that. now all he had to do is carry on with what he wanted to do, what he should have done before hurting Nari this far; Is to be honest and face his feelings for you.
He sighs loudly before pulling out his phone his fingers hovering over your contact on his phone, debating whether if he should call you or not.
But you were so unpredictable and the 'what if's' swirl in his mind endlessly.. would you pick up if he called?
_
Dinner with the Parks was always a delight.
You didn't know how much you loved Jimin's parents until now, they were so kind and down to earth, they didn't make you feel like you had messed up, they welcomed you right in it's like you never have left. Even though you didn't see them or talk to them for a whole year.
The banter with Jimin was unlike what you were used to lately, it wasn't mean it was wholesome and friendly and it warmed your heart.
As Jimin's father was cracking another joke your phone started to vibrate against your thigh.
You apologized and pulled it out feeling a bit scared and worried, because who would call you on Christmas eve?
your family were on a trip.
Jungkook wouldn't call you for sure so you immediately scrapped him off of your mind.
Nari is with Jungkook so you doubted it could be her since she's with her prince charming meeting his royal family.
The thought of that still stung you a bit.
You looked over at the name of the caller as your heart drops..
Were you dreaming?
Because Jungkook the Jeon Jungkook was calling you...
Jimin glanced over your shoulder without you noticing, he saw Jungkook's name bright and clear on your phone screen he couldn't help but clench his jaw, slightly aggravated.
"Excuse me" you smile warmly at Jimin and his parents before getting up from the dining table walking to the hallway to answer the phone.
Your heart was beating uncontrollably in your chest, everything you built up to block him from getting back into your life was slowly evaporating. Like you never built up walls to protect you.
You were shaking, questioning what he wanted, why was he calling? and why now?
You leaned against the wall trying to calm yourself down before you answered, you swiped the green button when you felt slightly steadier and lifted the phone up to your ear closing your eyes shut.
"Hello?" Your voice sounded like a quiver you cursed yourself for not having a stronger voice.
"_____ oh thank god you picked up!" he sighs you can tell he was smiling at the other line, you roll your eyes but your heart was doing flips "what do you want?" You hiss trying to sound unbothered; but god you were gonna melt at the sound of his voice and the way he said your name.
"I need to see you.." he heard the scoff you let out "where are you?" He asks crossing his fingers and hoping that you weren't with jimin; to his disappointment you replied "I'm actually in busan so whatever you want to talk about can we talk about it later? I can't right now" you say biting your bottom lip praying that that was convincing enough glancing behind you to find Jimin was looking back at you, you turned away.
"It can't wait _____! it's about us" he says with gritted teeth, are you serious right now? There's no way he'll wait another day for this to be resolved, he needed to talk it through tonight.
You sigh leaning against the wall behind you staring at the ceiling again "so? You had no problem delaying 'us' for a whole week I think you can wait two more days Jungkook" you tell him frustrated.
He was used to getting what he wanted and that's not gonna happen, not from now on further, you were deeply hurt and there's no way he's getting you back easily.
"Nari knows about us!" He says knocking all the air out of your lungs you feel the world around you stop moving "what?" You ask in disbelief, was this another lie of his?
"_____ we broke up...like minutes ago" he says making your world burn as the realization hits you; now that she's not there anymore he's finally ready for you? He finally realized that he wanted you?
"Oh so that's why you're calling? Congrats on being single jungkook but I'm not intrested in being your rebound I'm done I thought I told you that!" you heard him groan on the other line "goddamn it you're so difficult! Why are you like this? do you want to kill me?" Jungkook yells what were you talking about?! You can't be serious! Rebound? Why do you think that low of him?
"I'd love to!" You snapped back angrily.
You couldn't believe him right now, you wanted to reach through the phone and slap him.
"I'm being serious I need to see you this can't be talked through the phone please believe me I'm not fucking around anymore!" He says his tone changed making your guard flutter, right when you were about to submit to him you felt a hand on top of yours over your phone.
Jimin took the device from your grip smirking at you "she told you she's busy Jeon" Jimin spoke with gritted teeth.
You heard jungkook on the other line shout but you couldn't make out what he said but he sounded so angry, jimin turned to you and winked making you smile and wait with anticipation to hear what's going on.
"Don't worry kook I'm taking care of her very well, goodbye now!" jimin sweetly spoke before pressing the end call button satisfied, he hands you your phone back "I'm sorry but I overheard your call and I thought you needed saving" he rubs the back of his neck as he feels like he shouldn't have gotten between you and Jungkook.
You giggle and sigh nervously, as Jungkook's words play in your mind over and over again shaking your head, Jimin looks at you with worry you look up at him giving him a reassuring smile "let's go back we kept your parents waiting!" you said quickly not wanting to talk about Jungkook or what's going to happen next, dragging him behind you by his hand.
"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting it was an emergency" you said smiling at them before you sat down. jimin gives you a knowing look when you said 'emergency' making you roll your eyes.
[ an hour before midnight ]
If you thought your mind was not going to overthink everything you thought wrong..
Apart of you suspected that Nari knew about you, no matter how much you thought you hid it well you two were still roommates there's no way the thought didn't cross her mind. There's no way she couldn't have known.
You noticed the way she looked at you lately you knew it was different but you pushed it aside not sparing it a second thought because Nari was Nari, you weren't the bestest of friends but you lived with her and knew enough about her and her moods to know that the stares were just how she looked at people.
But with what jungkook just told you, you knew these stares were her way of examining your behavior, you felt so bad and there's no way you were gonna go back to your dorm now, you felt so ashamed you couldn't face her.
She had every right to hate your guts, she trusted you and you betrayed her.
Mentally you prepared yourself to move out because you knew there's no way you'll continue living with her for another 3 years.
Not after betraying her, you wanted to apologize but you know you'll be the biggest bitch if you do that. because your apology won't do anything. it won't fix your mistake and it surely won't help her with the situation or bring her boyfriend back or undo your doing.
You couldn't help but feel for her and imagine yourself in her place, you couldn't blame her for whatever she did with Jungkook.
You started to wonder and question your relationship with jungkook, and what's going to happen now that she's not in the picture, if he cheated on Nari he could cheat on you too...
He done it so easily to her even though they've been together for a good while, what makes you so different from her?
Do you really trust him to not think like that about him? Do you really want to be with someone who cheated on their signficant other to be with someone else? One day the tables will turn and you'll be in Nari's shoes and you'll taste the same medicine.
Did you really want that?
Jimin looked over at you and smiled sadly. He knew you enough to know that you were overthinking, everything...
He pulled you closer as you laid your head on his chest and sighed "Jimin I'm so confused..." he sighs and rubs your arm in hopes it's soothing, he was gonna try and help but he's not sure about what he should tell you.
"Do what your heart tells you to do" he tells honestly, you stare at the tv, his parents went to bed it was just the two of you now.
"My heart wants him but I'm afraid he'll cheat on me.." you feel ridiculous as you unfold the topic with Jimin he sighs again "love is stronger than any other emotion, if he didn't love you he wouldn't go through all of that just to stop here.. knowing Jungkook he never lost once in his life so I doubt he'd give you up easily" you look up at him and he traces your cheek "I know I said jungkook doesn't love you but what if he does.." he asks himself more than you before he stares at you with a look of admiration.
"and he does because he swore he'd cut my dick off if I get near you" he chuckles as your cheeks overheat and you hide your face in his chest groaning with embarrassment making Jimin throw his head back with laughter.
"Did he really say that? Or you just wanted to see me flustered?" You look up at him, your hair is all over the place from hiding.
Jimin nods "maybe the latter" he winks "anyway, I think you should listen to him you'll never know unless you hear him out" he looks back at the TV.
"But I'm scared...I don't know how I'm gonna react if I see him" you bit your lip as the nervousness embraces you once again.
"at least give it a try it's better than regretting that you never have given him a chance"
The way he spoke these words made an uneasy feeling run through your body, you look up at him then turn your head away with a sad smile you ask "jimin?" You hear him hum a yes "do you still...love me?"
You knew your question was dumb and unnecessary but you were dying to know..you didn't know why the urge to know that suddenly mattered.
You felt his body tense up underneath you as the question hangs in the air but then he relaxes "how can I not?" He whispers but you heard him.
You gulped the lump in your throat as you listened carefully to his words.
"But _____ I don't want to lose the friendship I have with you, it's so precious to me" he giggled but you knew it was the bittersweet kind of giggle it wasn't sad but it wasn't the happiest "this year without you was awful...I know it's cliche but I can't live without you and I don't want to lose you we're already acting like a couple anyway"
He scoffed running his fingers through your hair you wiped a tear that have slipped from the corner of your eye as you sat up to look at him.
"Maybe it's not our time yet" you smirk watching him make a face before he rolls his eyes "oh please don't start with your soulmates talk, I can't stand it! I still can't believe you got over that phase" He got up and walked to the kitchen
"Soulmates exist jimin! You're gonna see!" you tease him following him to grab a cup of water only to find him filling a cup for himself you stop and he raises his eyebrows "don't tell me you want water too" jimin gronas and you chuckle nodding "see! That's soulmate behavior!" You tell him winking at the end he only rolls his eyes
"On a second thought I don't love you all that much" jimin joked making you roll your eyes repeating what he said in a tone then laughing at how he looked at you, offended.
"In another life time you'll be my soulmate jiminie" he flips you off disappearing into the living room, you chug the water down and follow him back to the living room.
[12:30 am]
Jimin started to feel sleepy so you decided it was time to go to your motel and call it a day, he insisted that you sleep over but you complained that you didn't have any of your things or the charger of your phone.
It was all in the bag you packed and left in the motel room you rented for today and tomorrow.
He didn't want to pressure you into staying so he let you go of course after he made you pinky promise that you'd be here first thing in the morning so you can open the gifts he got you.
And with that you drove off, you couldn't wait to get under the sheets and sleep the night away.
You got to your motel pretty easily the streets of this part of town weren't as crowded as the main roads.
The room wasn't fancy but it was cozy, kinda scary, but you won't be here for long you thought.
[1:01 am]
As you were about to turn off the lights to finally rest you heard knocking on the door.
You figured you forgot something at jimin's house and he was dropping it off you did tell him your room number incase something were to happen to you so you got up from the bed and made your way to the door opening it. excepting to see jimin...
But you were met with Jungkook's tired face that lit up when your eyes met.
You stood frozen in your spot not able to comparehand that he's right in front of you.
He smiled and sighed relieved that he finally stood in front of you, he finally was twenty centimeters away from you.
"Can I come in?" He asked he couldn't help but smile with contentment.
You couldn't speak you just nodded and stepped aside to let him walk through closing the door after he was inside the tiny space infront of the door.
Your body brushed against his as you shut the door behind him, the feeling of him near you didn't feel odd it felt comforting and inviting.
You gestured to the two chairs that were beside each other in the corner of the room, he sat down and waited for you to do the same when you did he turned to you.
"I'm sorry" you turned to look at him as he started to speak his eyes were filled with regret and they were glossy.
"_____ I'm deeply sorry I know that you don't want me here right now but thank you for giving me a chance to explain myself" he says you hear him swallow before he continues "I couldn't break up with her because I-" he groaned trying to find the right words to say.
You look down in you lap playing with your fingers trying to breathe in and out, you felt a terrible anxiety take over you.
"we have been together for so long I thought that I'd die if she wasn't in my life but when you came into my life you turned it upside down" he smiled reaching forward to wipe away your tears that you didn't realize were falling.
You didn't know what to feel, but you definitely felt overwhelmed by his presence his aura gave off a feeling like nothing else, even the room felt different.
"being with Nari felt like a chore rather than a relationship I knew I was in love with you before we even slept together that night" he was now knelt infront of you rubbing his thumb against your cheek wiping the traces of your tears.
his other hand held yours in your lap "but I was just afraid of letting Nari go... I knew it had to be done I wish I did that instead of cheating on her but I just couldn't" he looks away from you, you knew he was trying not to cry.
You knew he was speaking sincerely the Jungkook that came over that night in your dorm was someone and this jungkook that was kneeling infront of you tonight was someone else.
"I love you and I'm sorry it took me this long to realize it" he tells you smiling at the end of his sentence making you chuckle lightly as well "please don't cry I don't deserve those tears" he softly whispers his forehead touching yours.
He places a kiss there before he looks into your eyes that were looking back at him.
Love was truly a battle filed, Jungkook was the mvp at every match except yours, you were his weakness, you were his soft spot, you're the only one who he'd surrender to.
Your emotions were a mess, your heart screamed at you to take him right then and there while your mind set off alarms in your body to push him away, both of your senses haveing a battle inside you made it hard for you to do anything, you just sat still.
"Show me" were the only words you could say, he stared at you examining your face before he started leaning in capturing your lips in a passionate kiss.
Making you melt in his arms, you wrapped your arms around his neck, surrendering, the fire in your heart finally subsided, he picks you up swiftly.
He gently he places you on the bed climbing ontop of you not breaking the kiss, afraid that you'll dissolve in the air.
You pulled away to catch your breath before pulling him back in latching on to his lips kissing him with every emotion pulling out from you "nothing feels better than this" he says against your skin as he scatters kisses on your neck, your eyes roll to the back of your head at the feeling of his lips sucking and marking your skin.
You tug at his sweater whining he pulls away from you to take it off tossing it somewhere in the room before his tongue latches onto yours, as both of your tounges dance together he pulls off your shorts and panties, sneaking in a finger making you moan against his lips "you're so fucking wet princess" he groans pulling away from your lips staring down at your clit that started to clinch around his finger he slides in another one making you gasp at the feeling, you throw your head back when he starts pushing them in and out of your core.
Your toes curl at the feeling of your climax nearing and he knew that by the look on your face he pulled out his fingers making you cry at the loss of them you look up at him to see him sucking on them moaning on purpose when his eyes meet yours "s-stop teasing-g me" you groaned he laughs pulling off your shirt cupping your breasts in his plams "how about you stay silent baby hmm?" Before you could protest his lips were back on yours, shutting you up,making you taste your juices on his plump lips.
His hands were squeezing your breasts gently before he started to pinch your sensitive nubs making you moan against his mouth you could feel him smile then he pulls away his hands fall to his sides "such pretty tits" he curses as he stands at the end of the bed before he pulls you by your thighs as he gets on his knees "stay still babygirl" he murmurs before he licks your burning core slowly you hiss at the feeling of his tounge flick your bundle of nerves over and over again, you try to get away from the feeling of his kitten licks on your heat drove you crazy you couldn't take it.
Only for him to pull you back biting the inside of your thigh to stop you from squirming and getting away from his mouth "I'm- I'm gonna cum kook-" you cry out when you feel your climax approaching once again he pulls away standing up wiping his mouth with the back of his hand "I want you to cum when I'm inside you baby" he rubs your cheek softly you stare up at him with a pout.
He chuckles deeply as he leans down, kissing your pouty lips while he strokes and pumps his cock, your mouth waters at the sight of his red tip it was already leaking with cum, you wanted to lick him clean but he pushed you back gently "no tonight is all about you" he smiles before he lines his tip with your entrance he looks up at you as if to ask if it's okay you nod furiously not having any patience left.
He pushes inside you with difficulty, your core was warm and tight it made him curse and cry out your name "fuck, how are you still this tight!" He throws his head back trying to push more of his length in but you're barely taking in the tip "stop crying and take all of it slut!" he spoke frustrated slapping your thighs to keep them open you were clenching around his legs tightly "I-I can't" you whimper, shaking your head, your face is red and the sweat was covering you from head to toe your hair stuck to your face "yes you can baby just try a little harder for me princess" he encourages you patting your cheek softly, you try to relax your abdominal muscles your eyes were tightly shut then you feel the rest of his length slide in you hear him grunt satisfied "that's my girl" he smiles wiping your tears away placing kisses all over your face as he pushes in and out of you.
He pulls out all the way and back in hitting your sensitive spot multiple times, abusing it. He places his hand on your abdomen "do you feel me here baby hmm?" You cry and nod his hand pressing against where his cock was hitting made you see stars.
He moaned your name feeling his climax nearing you clenched around him you were on the edge of letting go "let go baby" he reassured you as you started to cum shaking underneath him.
He groaned as his head fell on your shoulder as he let out a moan releasing his seed inside you, he pulled out of you a string of your juices was the only thing contacting you to him he gathered up the substance tapping his finger against your lips you opened your mouth taking in his finger tasting your cum combined with his, he smiles turned on again by the sight, he leans in kissing your lips after he pulled his finger away, he pulled away from you to catch his breath and to let you catch yours.
He falls beside you then turns to you laying on his side tucking you in with the sheet to shield you from the cold as he smiles at you, he couldn't contain his happiness he felt so content he finally felt happy.
With you by his side everything felt right, his arm was around you before he started brushing away the strands of your hair as you smile up at him tiredly, your cheeks were red and your body was still hot and sweaty.
"I love you" he says after all the hair was out of your face, right after he said that, the look on your face was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen your lips broke into a smile as you look back at him your eyes flutter shut drifting off in a deep slumber jungkook smiles then he too falls asleep beside you.
_
You woke up early the next day so you decided you'd go to jimin's house earlier than planned, to open your presents and give him his presents that you bought last minute before you drove here yesterday.
You felt sad that you didn't wrapp them up nicely but you knew he'd understand and appreciate them regardless,at least you still bought something rather than going empty handed.
You bought something simple for his parents as well, to apologize for the last christmas tantrum.
You decided not to wake Jungkook up because you knew you'd be back soon and he was a heavy sleeper so he won't be up anytime soon.
You made your way to Jimin's house of course your legs were bruised and walking the space from your car to his front door hurt like hell, you made a mental note to scold Jungkook about that once you get back but for now you just wanted to spend time with your best friend before you go back to taking classes and doing assignments and all that.
His (and jungkook's) championship was next month so he had a lot to prepare for so you doubted you're gonna see him after today not until he's done with the championship.
And who knows where the university is taking the soccer team this year, the championship was held at a different country every year so you had no idea for how long they'll be there and where they're going.
As for jungkook you still needed to talk about your relationship with him, what happened yesterday doesn't mean he's back in easily, there's so much he needed to do to prove to you that he's serious about you.
And a big part of you was afraid that what happened with Nari is gonna happen with you.
You had every right to have your doubts and fears as anyone would if they were in your place.
You shoved those thoughts aside,as Jimin welcomed you with his smile and bed hair you giggled as you hugged him "marry Christmas jiminie!"
"Marry Christmas! now hurry go open your first present I can't wait any longer!" He pulls you inside you shut the door behind you laughing as he drags you to the living room where the Christmas tree was placed.
"The red and green wrapped gifts are yours" he said smiling proudly at the sight of your presents underneath the tree you were in awe "jimin this is a lot!" you pout "this isn't fair I'm ashamed of my gifts now" you say hiding the two bags that had his gifts inside behind your back he shakes his head pulling your arms out "oh shush and gimmie my gifts go get yours!" He pulled the two bags from your grip smiling instantly when he saw his favourite album at the top of the bag.
You huff and stump your way towards the pile of gifts taking the smallest one, it was wrapped very nicely and you remember how passionate jimin was when it came to decorating and wrapping Christmas gifts you smiled when you saw the wrapping paper had small snowmen all over it "come on just rip it open!" Jimin gronas behind you "I don't want to ruin the wrapping paper it's too cute!" You whine opening it carefully making jimin roll his eyes.
You stop when you see the white box "No!" You gasp already knew what it is he broke into fits of giggles behind you "your reaction makes going through all that trouble to get it worth it!" He ruffles your hair you unfold the wrapping paper and open the Gucci box to find the bag you gawked at every time you two went to the mall a year ago "jimine this is so expensive!" You cried "thank you" you dragged your words out "I love it!" You turn around to hug him placing kisses on both of his cheeks before you continue opening the rest.
Every gift beat the last one, you loved every single one, you couldn't believe you were this lucky, Jimin still knows you like the back of his hand, it made you cry from how happy you were, you didn't deserve him at all.
He felt so relieved that you loved his gifts and he thanked the heavens for his good memory otherwise he wouldn't have gotten you something that you liked.
You left his home feeling a lot better and way happier than you've ever been, you were so thankful for having someone like him in your life and you sower you'd never let him go again.
You needed jimin just as much as he needed you and that was never gonna change or so you hope.
_
You kept your gifts in the car since tonight you were driving back to Seoul so there's no point in carrying them up to your room and you hurried to get back afraid that jungkook was awake, you didn't want him to wait for you.
Regardless of how much he made you wait, you were better than that.you shut the door after you were inside taking off your coat.
"Good morning" jungkook smiled sleepily at you sipping on a cup of coffee his sweat pants hanged low on his waist making you lose your train of thought for a second.
you greet him back smiling "breakfast just got here let's eat before it gets cold" he told you walking to the bed where he placed the tray you scoffed "very romantic" you remark he smirks "breakfast in bed is not just romantic the food tastes better in bed" he shoots you a wink and you roll your eyes at him.
"After breakfast can we talk?" You bite your lip nervously glancing up at him, he was already eating his piece of toast he nods at you his mouth filled with food you sigh and grab your piece taking a small bit of it.
"I'm assuming you were over at Jimin's" he asks, you nod "He gave me my christmas presents" you say taking a bite of the omelet.
Jungkook curses himself, That's one point for Jimin! he always had a thing for celebrations he should have gotten you something.
You look over at him and know that he feels bad about not getting you anything, well you haven't gotten him anything either.
"Jimin is just trying to make me feel better please don't feel like you had to give me anything" you tell jungkook smiling reassuringly.
He pouts "but I kinda wanted to"
"I know you don't like chirstmas so it's okay" you laugh and he looks down at the food, still feeling upset about not getting you anything.
_
Both of you finished every last bit of food that was in that tray, you both had a nice conversation just catching up on what happened lately with him.
You can't help but feel like you're gonna fall of the edge, you were just so nervous not knowing how the conversation you two are about to have is going to go.
He barely touched you, knowing by the look on your face you still didn't forgive him completely, he wanted things to go steady from now on just in case you had a change of heart.
After you cleaned up the bed from the food crumbs and Jungkook called the motel staff to pick up the tray you both sat back down on the bed crossed legs facing each other.
You sigh smiling nervously at him he rubbed your back "it's okay" he reassured "I'm gonna be here for you no matter what" he continued.
You took a deep breath before you spoke looking at the wall behind him because you felt overwhelmed if you stare at him.
"Jungkook you know I love you I can't and won't deny it" you smile looking down "but I can't help but feel afraid that if we date you're gonna treat me just like you treated Nari" you feel his hands disappear from rubbing your arms then he reaches for your hands holding them tightly "you're everything I wanted I don't want anyone else I only need you" he tells you with the gentlest tone you look in his eyes "there was a time where you also wanted Nari but you let go of her..for me"
You sigh again looking away from him, you didn't want to cry, his gaze on you is soft waiting for you to continue fear is growing inside of him.
"Jungkook I love you and I know you love me too but...we can't be together"
You look back at him, your chest tightening at the way his face fell "falling in love with you was beautiful and awful at the same time but I don't regret it I won't ever regret it even though the timing wasn't right" you smile at him your hands were still intertwined.
"Jungkook I'm afraid the spark we both have is not love but a bad habit, I got used to you...you got used to me. you were in a relationship when we met and you were in a relationship when you fell in love with me we built our relationship on someone else's broken heart and I don't think we'll ever be happy together knowing that we've hurt someone by this" you sniffle "by us being together"
"But who cares she knew all along why does it matter?" He whispers you can see the tears drip on his face too "I care, Jungkook! I know my fate with you is gonna be like her and I don't want that" you cry "let me let you go please don't make this harder for me..." you whisper pulling your hands away from his to wipe your tears away.
"So I'm never gonna see you again?" He asks you look up at him, you can see he was crying too you shrag your shoulders "I don't know" you sigh he scoffs standing up "why can't you trust me when I say that I love you and I won't ever hurt you" he says staring at you in disbelief
You can tell he's trying to stay calm "how about I hold you on for that?" you say your chest heaving up and down trying not to sob
He looks at you "what do you mean?"
"Jungkook if we're meant to be together we'll meet again somehow someway and if you and I feel the same way we do now even after being apart then it's meant to be.." you speak ever so calmly.
"Then it's not a bad habit and we really love each other?" jungkook asks smiling sadly while he looks back at you, you smile back nodding thankful that he understands where you're coming from.
"Your championship is next month you won't have time for us" you whisper, tracing the patterns on the bedsheet.
"You know I'll make time for us my championship is not an excuse" he argues back walking behind you "it won't be the same...you're on the other side of the world...I don't trust you that far" you try to joke but cry at the end of your words, he hugs you from the back, his head resets on your shoulder.
"I'll come back for you I promise I will" he whispers kissing your cheek multiple times, your heart melts at his words "please keep loving me until I'm back I promise I'll make it worth it" he murmurs against your neck, placing a kiss there.
you let out a deep breath "I'll keep on loving you until then but as long as you keep on loving me too" you turn your head to him, he's an inch away from you.
He smiles a sad smile leaving a peck on your lips "deal" he tells you painting a hopeful smile on your face before he pulls away.
With a heavy heart he makes his way towards the door "Alright then,I'll see you someday?" He questions looking back at you still sitting on the bed with a single tear on your cheek and a bittersweet smile on your face
"See you someday mvp jungkook" you tell him he nods biting his bottom lip, shutting the door after him.
You stay still feeling the room go colder and darker you could feel your heart breaking when you hear his footsteps walking further away until you couldn't hear them anymore not bearing listening to the silence that was deafening any longer you get up from the bed and run towards the door swinging it open
running down the crappy motel stairs you see him, head hanging low as he makes his way towards his car "Jungkook!" You call out from the bottom of the stairs he turns at the sound of your voice you run into his arms sobbing.
He runs his hand through your hair lifting up your chin to look at him, he captures your lips in a kiss, that you knew was your last kiss.
He pulls away "this is the right thing to do _____" he nods smiling down at you the saddest smile you had ever seen "I know" you reply pouting  your face was pressed against his chest now "I only want to make you happy "he tells you.
You pull away, pressing your lips "I don't think you can anymore" you whisper and that's when he cried too.
"I love you and I'm gonna let time prove that to you" he says wiping away his tears chuckling lightly before he gets into his car you shut the door after he's inside.
he slides the window down "we'll see about that jeon" you tease leaning in but he is faster than you he pulls your face closer kissing you again both of his plams cupping your cheeks kissing you passionately.
I love you too" you say back stepping away from the car he pulls out of the parking spot he stops and waves at you one last time before he takes off you wave back at him watching his car disappear into the fog.
You sigh as the rain starts to pour, you hope that you had done the right thing, hope that Jungkook lived up to his name 'The MVP' hope that he doesn't give you up and that he comes back again to win your heart.
The End
_
A/N: before you kill me I didn't want the ending to be sad I originally planned that they don't end up together because in reality it wouldn't be a healthy relationship so bare that in mind I still made it somewhat a happy ending:) thank you SO MUCH for reading this far seriously I love you with all my heart! I'm sorry for any mistakes I made and I'm sorry for the vanilla smut !I need a smut writer to help in that department (I'll give credit ofc)! voltron- lance with a cold but doesn't want anyone to know?
(Omg my first voltron prompt..also lowkey nervous bc I’m new to it and everyone already has a million amazing voltron fics and I have nothing new to add to the table :“D on the shorter side so I get used to writing voltron :”) )
Amongst the total debacle of space, discovering alien life, realising that the world was so vast and bigger than the human mind could comprehend, Lance had found another family through his friends. It wouldn’t quite fill the void left by the loss of his family back at earth, but they were loving,  a little ignorant and harsh at times during high drake situations, very rarely at that but Lance understood, given the clusterfuck that was their situation.
The universe had been so much larger and diverse than Lance had could have possibly imagined, so many things he did not know. Among all this, topped with insecurities he had struggled with beforehand, he struggled to find his place in all of this.
His friends were kind to him, never telling him he was useless of any sort, but he couldn’t help but feel it. Watching them, with all their own niches and spectacular talent, he grew a little envious, and wishing he could be that. Wishing he could be a little bit more than this.
So when his body began to break down, he had to ignore it, not wanting to seem any weaker than he already was.
“Paladins! Report to the bridge in 60 ticks!”
Lance groaned, not wanting to leave his comfortable, warm position on his bed. He tightened his sheets around his frame as he regained his senses. As he did, he wished he hadn’t because he became aware of a powerful headache, a stuffy nose and a fevered body.
As soon as he realised what was up with him, he widened his eyes, taking his ailment as a challenge. No way would he be taken down by something as simple as a cold.
He pushed himself out of his bed, trying to get ready as quickly as possible. Lance instantly regretted his past decision as his headache intensified, causing him to feel weak and woozy. He groaned softly, until a sudden tickle brewing in his sinuses had him inhaling sharply and sneezing harshly towards the floor.
Lance groaned yet again, the force of the sneeze causing his head to whip forwards, the sudden movement doing no wonders for his already painful headache. He laid a hand against the wall, steadying himself as a wave of dizziness hit him, sighing, bracing himself for what was no doubt going to be a rough day.
“Lance, you’re late!” Allura sighed, a slight hint of annoyance in her voice.
“Nah, y'all are just early! Party doesn’t start til I walk in,” Lance beamed, trying not to raise any suspicion towards his illness.
Keith rolled his eyes fondly, averting his attention back to Allura, “So, what’s the agenda for today?”
“I would like you paladins to partake in an extensive training session today, to bring you all back in shape for any unexpected attacks,” She explained.
“Of course, we appreciate how well you’ve all been working and how strong you’ve all gotten, but there is always room for improvement!” Coran grinned.
“Great!” Lance beamed with feigned enthusiasm for the others. ‘Great,’ he beamed sarcastically to himself.
“I’m ready to kick your ass, Keith,” Lance grinned, all this forced energy already draining his weak body, causing him to feel warm and dizzy. 'I am definitely not ready to kick any ass, Keith,’ Lance thought to himself.
Shiro raised his eyebrow slightly, noticing a slight rasp and congestion to Lance’s voice. He cleared his throat as the rest of the team running off to get into their gear, catching up with Lance.
“Are you okay, Lance?” Shiro asked kindly.
“What? I’m fan-tastic, ready to seize the day!” Lance beamed.
“Hmm,” Shiro merely grunted, not too convinced but let it go for the time being, giving Lance a friendly pat on the back.
Lance kept his smiley, energetic facade on until Shiro and everyone else were out of his sight, and then proceeded to cough a short fit of chesty wet coughs into his arm.
Lance groaned softly, wondering how he was going to get through today.
Lance dodged Keith’s swing sloppily, last minute and nearly tripping over his own feet. He breathed noisily through his mouth, his nose completely stuffed. He could barely even see Keith with his vision turned a blur from his awful headache.
“You’re slacking, Lance!” Keith taunted, dodging a sloppy swing from Lance with ease.
Lance made a groan of frustration and annoyance, his nose starting to burn with a tickling sensation, averting all his attention towards it. Due to the overpowering sensation, he lost all his concentration and ended up being hit by Keith. Extremely hard.
Lance let out a hiss of pain, swallowing to stop himself from being any louder than he    already was being. He dropped everything, his frame tipping slightly as he rested his hands on his knees to support himself. The one good thing that came from this was that at least now, he lost the about the tickle, but instead had a throbbing pain in his leg.
Keith’s face went completely white, eyes widening in shock. He rushed towards Lance in worry, dropping everything. He wrapped an arm around Lance’s shoulder to help him stand upright and steady.
“Are you okay?!” Keith asked frantically, guilt dropping out of his voice.
“I’m fine, Keith!” Lance snapped, pushing the boy off of him and stood straight on his own, causing his head to spin. He sniffled weakly, trying to steady himself so he could see straight.
Pidge came up to them, examining Lance’s leg, raising an eyebrow quizzically, “There’s not much damage done here, thankfully. Just a bruising at most.”
“I’m not weak!” Lance hissed, becoming slightly delirious.
Pidge widened her eyes, “What?! No, Lance! That’s not what I meant at all!”
Lance let out a shaky breath, realising what he had done and softened. In that moment he looked much younger, tired, weak. “I’m sorry,” he croaked softly, voice scratchy.
Hunk frowned, “Lance, what’s wrong?”
Lance shook his head aggressively, picking back up and getting himself into a a fighting position. He faced Keith, pulling on a determined look, as he painted. Suddenly, the tickle from earlier returning with vengeance, intense and burning that there was no time for a build up. He simply launched into an powerful fit of sneezing, head snapping forward with each one, which progressively got more forceful.
As he finished, his pounding headache worsened from the impact of snapping forward repeatedly. He slumped forward, giving in to his illness as he allowed himself to feel the true extent of his illness.
“..Lance..?” Pidge called gently.
Lance sniffled, letting out tiny little chesty coughs due to his congestion. He looked pathetic, a complete contrast to his bubbly, friendly exterior.
“What’s wrong?” Hunk asked patiently, a gentle hand propping itself on Lance’s shoulder.
Lance looked up blearily, eyes watery and exhausted, letting out a shaky little sigh before starting his sentence with a congested, little cough, “..I just don’t feel very well..”
Shiro smiled softly, approaching the younger boy and holding him by the shoulders, “Oh Lance..you should’ve told us. You know we wouldn’t have made you do this if we knew you weren’t feeling good.”
Lance sniffled, leaning against Shiro’s steady embrace, “I know..I just..”
“You just..?”
“…I didn’t want you guys to think I was weak,” Lance choked.
Pidge looked bewildered, “What?! We would never think that! Why would you think that? We would be nowhere without you!”
Lance shrugged, “..I don’t know..I wanted to prove to you guys..to myself..that I have a place here, I guess. It’s all just so overwhelming..”
Hunk frowned, “Awh Lance! You have nothing to prove, you’ve already proven yourself time and time again! We wouldn’t have even been able to do all of this if you haven’t connected with Blue!”
Lance managed a tiny smile, “..I just..I don’t know, feel inferior to all you guys. You’re all so talented..”
“Well, that is a load of garbage,” Keith said.
Pidge blinked, looking over at him, “Keith!”
He shook his head, “Lance, you are one of the most talented people I have ever met. You never seize to impress me everyday, and I learn more about you and realise that you’ve really got something. It’s a load of garbage that you think otherwise.”
Lance managed a small smirk, “..I..impress you?”
Keith blushed, looking away in embarrassment, “..That’s all I’m going to say.”
“Ah, there he is,” Pidge joked.
Shiro felt Lance’s forehead with the back of his hand, frowning, “You’ve got a bit of a fever too..you need to get to bed and get some rest. We need you in tip top shape as soon as possible, because we do really need you, Lance.”
Lance gave him a small smile, “..Okay.”
With that, Hunk swooped in and picked Lance up in his arms, giving him a large, loving grin, “Nurse Hunk to the rescue!! I’ll cook you up some good soup in just a little bit!”
The Paladins escorted Lance to his room, where they safely put him into bed, where Hunk said his farewells to make Lance some soup, shortly followed by Pidge who went to find some medicine, then Shiro who went to inform Coran and Allura, leaving him with Keith.
Keith fluffed up Lance’s pillow and tucked him into his blanket, feeling his cheek, brushing hair out of his face, in that totally loving mushy gushy out of character way that left Lance bewildered and having an out of body experience. He didn’t know if this was his fever or real life.
Keith answered that question for him, a slight blush to his cheeks, “..Don’t get yourself excited, I’m not going to be doing this every night now.”
Lance pulled on a look of fake disgust, “Eugh, I wouldn’t want you to.”
Keith smiled softly and sat at the edge of his bed, arms crossed and obviously finding trouble keeping eye contact with him, “..Lance..”
“Mm?”
“..I..didn’t know you felt that way. I-I know this is weird, and let’s not make it weird but if you ever want anyone to talk to..I’m right here, any time at all,” he stammered.
Lance gave him a small woozy smile, a soft, kittenish sneeze escaping him before he sniffled, snuggling into his covers. “..Right back at ya Keith..I’m here too..”
Keith smiled softly, gazing over at Lance with care, watching as the boy’s eyelids slowly drooped, clearly exhausted. He chuckled, “Get some sleep, Lance.”
Allura gently opened the door to Lance’s room, having decided to check on the Paladin and to see if he was well, only to see Keith sitting right by Lance’s side, a loving gaze on his eyes as he watched him sleep, as if trying to keep him safe.
Keith tensed as he heard her come in, whipping his head around to face her and relaxed as he realised it was only her. Suddenly, he realised what had happened and blushed with embarrassment, “uh..listen..”
Allura only smiled, “No, you don’t have to say anything. And I won’t either.”
She left shortly after, knowing Lance would be just fine if Keith was there by his side. And she was right, because Keith remained there to ensure that Lance was alright, making a vow to himself that nothing would ever hurt this boy, and the rest of his friends would help him do so.

Can I resend my graves request about him falling for somebody he was initially irritated by? If this doesn't inspire you though then just ignore it lol 🙂🙂
Here you go! There will be time lapses! This turned out way longer than I expected lol
Master list
Imagine: Graves falling for you despite his original annoyance with you.
“Another screw up?” He asked, irritation clear in his tone. He didn’t understand what you were doing even working at MACUSA, week by week it was just another mistake of yours that slowed his work process down.
“Yes sir…” You dropped your head down, not wanting to meet his disappointed gaze. You admired Mr. Graves so much, he was the best of the best, and yet no matter how hard you tried nothing ever seemed to go your way.
The director tossed the folder of paperwork onto his desk, rubbing at his temples as he tried to figure out a way to correct the mistakes. The paperwork would take forever to go through now.
“Do you like your job, Ms, Y/N?”
You glanced up, eyes a bit wide at his sudden question. But, the beat of your picked up its pace and you worried so for your future here.
“I-I do, sir. Very much.”
He leaned back in his chair, kicking his boots up on the desk as he stared you down. “Then I suggest you start lessening your incessant need to make mistakes.”
The threat was evident on his voice, and you felt much like a child being scolded by a parent. This was torture, and you felt the beginnings of tears in your eyes.
“I promise to try harder, sir. I’m so sorry.” You bowed a bit, trying to show some respect before you moved to leave his office.
He watched you go, dark eyes following every movement as he thought deeply to himself. You were a constant headache for him, but he couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty over the dejected state you were in.
****
You rushed down the halls of the large building, apologizing to the other aurors as you bumped into them. You had just finished up all your reports and you were eager to hand them to Mr. Graves yourself. You had looked over every little detail, and even asked your friend for help to make sure nothing was missing. Hopefully, he’d be congratulating you this time…
“Mr. Graves!”
You opened the door to his office, smiling widely until you saw Madame Picquery standing there, stern look on her face. Just your luck that he would be having a meeting with the president.
“I-….” You blushed deeply in embarrassment, suddenly feeling very small.
Graves raised his eyebrow at you, letting out a sigh as he apologized to the president. She just waved him off, giving you a small smile before excusing herself. You watched her go, swallowing the nervous lump that had developed in your throat.
“I sincerely hope you have a good reason to be barging into my office without a knock.” He warned, taking a seat as he picked up his pen and began writing down some information.
“Well I…um…”
“Out with it…” He grew annoyed, tilting his head towards you in frustration.
“I finished my reports, sir. I just wanted to deliver them to you…”
He seemed slightly impressed by that, and he held his hand out for you to hand him the folders. He opened them up, clasping his hands together and resting his chin atop them as he read over your work. He had to admit, these were far more detailed than your last ones, and as far as any errors went he could find none. He closed the folder, not even glancing up at you as he continued his own work.
“Good job.”
As far as compliments from the director went, this was probably as good as it got, and you would take that. You smiled brightly, clapping your hands cheerfully as you thanked him for his time.
“Thank you, sir! I promise not to let you down again!”
You turned on your heel, and as you moved to open his office door you tripped over the trash can, barely catching yourself on the doorframe. The bang of the metal drum rang loudly through the halls and his office, making him look up at you.
You stood silently against the door, eyes screwed shut in disbelief of your clumsiness. You finally got a moment to shine, and then this. How perfect, you thought. With a sigh, you mumbled an apology and slowly walked out of the room after putting his trash can back.
Unbeknownst to you though, Graves had watched the whole thing with a small grin on his face that he hid behind his hands.
*****
Percival strode down the hallway, briefcase in hand as he headed towards his office, he was beyond exhausted. The last few nights trying to deal with an investigation had finally taken a toll on him, and all he wanted was to finish up his reports and head home. He turned the corner, stopping when he saw you walking into his office with a pile of papers. They were no doubt more paperwork on the case from the other aurors. With a heavy sigh he continued on, stopping in his tracks when he found you halfway under his desk. You were scrambling around, cursing to yourself about something he couldn’t quite hear.
“What are you doing?”
You squeaked in surprise, instinctively jumping back only to hit your head hard against his wooden desk.
“Ow!”
You held your sore head in your hands, trying hard not to cry at the pain.
“I was just…”
Truth is, you managed to drop all his folders when you came in. And your luck would have it that he showed up just now.
Graves looked down at the floor, gritting his teeth when he saw all the papers scattered about. He would’ve yelled just then, completely done with all the issues of this week, but when you looked up at him, cheeks stained red, and eyes looking as innocent as ever…he didn’t have it in him anymore.
He placed his briefcase on the desk, kneeling down next to you as he started to reach for the papers. You quickly started doing the same, trying to stop him from helping.
“Oh no, Sir! Please let me, it was my fault after all!”
As you went to retrieve one, your hands brushed, and you both froze. His fingers hovered just above your hand, yet the heat of his palm was still felt. Just then your heart skipped a beat, blood rushing to your face even more now and all you could do was stare down at your hands in wonder.
Graves looked up at you, his expressive eyes staring straight into your soul and making you fidget nervously. You should’ve moved, but his gaze held you in place.
He let his fingers trial softly over the back of your hand, sending a shock of electricity throughout both your bodies that even caught him by surprise. He held his breath for only a second, before he let his fingers slide off your hand and he grabbed the paper.
“Go get us some coffee. I’ll pick this up.”
You were somewhat at a loss for words, your heart was still beating madly in your chest and you stared up at him with a shocked look.
“Sir?”
“Coffee. Black.”
You nodded quickly and ran out of his office.
****
Graves chuckled softly at your words, taking a sip from his mug as he spoke.
“What kind of American doesn’t like coffee?”
You smiled sheepishly, organizing the papers in his filing cabinet. The past few weeks had been spent like this, and your boss slowly began to warm up to your presence. Ever since that brush of skin things had been different. Though he still made you nervous.
“I suppose that is un-American of me.”
“Hm.”
Graves watched you closely, eyeing you over the rim of his coffee mug as you leaned forward to put a paper away. He wasn’t sure how this happened, or even where it began. Somehow you worked your way into his very heart and it drove him endlessly mad. He was always far too busy in his career to even pursue romantic relationships. The furthest he’d go is taking a woman home and that’d be the end of that. Yet, you made him stop that all together. Perhaps it was the one night he shared with another coworker, only to look down and see your face moaning in pleasure beneath him. Whatever the case, he couldn’t bring himself to let you go. That’s why he invited you here so often, of course he never stated that though. He wasn’t sure how to further this…whatever it was.
Perhaps it was your clumsy nature that made him like you, it was rather endearing at times. You always got this embarrassed wide eyed look that made it hard not to smile at. Or maybe it was your eagerness to please him. You were simply cute, a breath of fresh air amongst the stern women he worked around.
He looked you over, running a hand through his slicked back hair as he took in every detail. From the way you hummed peacefully to yourself, to the way you bit your lip in thought. It was all so tempting a sight, and he’d be damned if any other man took that from him.
****
“Mr. Abernathy, that’s very kind of you but I’m not-”
“Oh come on, just one date?”
Your supervisor smiled at you, leaning over the front desk as he tried his hardest to convince you. But, you weren’t interested in him one bit, you knew his reputation around here after all.
“I really-”
“Abernathy, shouldn’t you be off supervising the wand permits?”
Graves leaned against the counter, glaring at the shorter man. Abernathy, ever fearful of the director, nodded quickly and rushed off down the hall, nervously looking back at you both.
You sighed in relief, giving Percival a grateful smile. “Thank you. He’s a very persistent man.”
“He’s a rat.”
You giggled at that, getting up from your chair as Graves motioned for you to follow him. The wall to his office was rather silent, and you kept stealing glances his way in wonder. You hoped you hadn’t done something wrong.
“Mr. Graves-”
“Percival is fine.”
A smile made its way onto your face, and you nodded happily at that. “Percival…is everything okay?”
He ignored that, and as soon as he stepped into the office with you he shut his door, grabbing your arm and pushing you against the wall. The papers you held flew everywhere, and you gasped as his lips descended onto yours.
“Mm!”
Your hands flailed around for a second, trying to comprehend what was happening. But, the warmth of his mouth on yours made you melt into the kiss, and you slowly let your eyes flutter closed.
Graves held you firmly against him and the wall, his hands trailing down your sides and resting on your waist. He had waited far too long to do this, and as your superior he should’ve thought it through a little more but right now he didn’t care. He pulled away, his warm breath brushing across your cheek as he spoke.
“What have you done to me…?”

Hope you liked!

(Baby), It's Our Destiny
Hope wakes up in the middle of the night, jolting up from her bed, sweating and shaking from her nightmare. Images of her mother, her father's sullen face, dying screams and explosions starts to fade away the moment she opens her eyes but the memories seemed permanently ingrained in a part of her brain, occasionally haunting her dreams.
She draws her knees up to her chest and buries her face into her arms, shaking away the remnants of the nightmare. She hates being in a situation like this, where she feels out of control, vulnerable and exposed. She lifts her head up and falls back on her pillow with a thud, hoping to fall asleep but failing. Suddenly, everything feels wrong, the bed's too warm and the room's too quiet.
She lets out a frustrated sigh, and kicks off the covers, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. The base of her feet touches the cool hardwood floor, making her relax a little and she heads to the bathroom. She stands in front of the basin and takes off her sweat-ridden tank top, leans over and proceeds to wash her face. She looks at the mirror, her soul words capturing her attention for a while. The small cursive words were etched at the lower edge of her left ribcage, standing out starkly against her pale skin, like a tattoo.
It had appeared when she was twelve years old and she still remembers the tolerable burning pain as it engraved on her skin. Her mother had told her about it vaguely when she was a child, but she had got further explanation from her aunt Peggy. For some reason, everyone is blessed with the first words of their soul mate. The soul mark could range from a single word to a long sentence, just like hers.
'Hello? Who are you? Have you been standing there watching me sleep this whole time?'
The words fascinated her twelve year old self. What does it mean? It's hard imagining herself watching a stranger sleep. How will the scenario turn out, she questions. Also, it isn't guaranteed that you would find your special one or spend the rest of your life with your intended soul mate, like aunt Peggy. She had found hers but he had perished in the war and she had lived a long, fulfilling life with another partner, who wasn't her soul mate.
As such, she doesn't know if it's a blessing or a curse, to have your soul mate's words scribbled on a part of your body. As Hope grew older, she became less fixated on it as she was more occupied equipping herself in becoming a superhero. She's had flings and relationships, nothing long-term, but none of them had uttered those words. Truth to be told, she couldn't care less about it.
Simply because Hope doesn't believe in soul mates.
One day, she happens to come across a news flash on television about a modern day Robin Hood and she catches a glimpse of the man and her soul words start to burn slightly. It piques her curiosity but the image of the man disappears before she could see his name.
She forgets all about it until she crosses path with a criminal, an ex-criminal to be precise, who had broke into her father's house and stole the Ant-Man suit. And now, she's standing in front of him, eyes darting to and fro from her phone to him, watching and observing. She thinks her father is out of his mind to recruit this stranger for the mission. Hope already despises him the moment she sets her eyes on him.
Scott wakes up with a jerk. He takes in the unfamiliar surroundings, yesterday's event flashing through his mind. He doesn't know where he is and his eyes bug out as his gaze falls on a women in a sleek business suit with a no-nonsense hairdo standing at the foot end of the bed, typing away on her phone.
"Hello? Who are you? Have you been standing there watching me sleep this whole time?", his eyebrows knit into a frown as he looks at her cautiously and uncertainly.
It stuns her for a fleeting moment when the words escape from his mouth, but she's highly trained in keeping a poker face so she doesn't reveal her emotions. Her soul words begin to burn and she flashes back to the time when it happened three years ago. It can't be. She panics, her mind searching in a frenzy for a response and it ends up with a single word.
"Yes.", she replies austerely.
Scott Lang is her soul mate.
This is not happening.
She keeps her distance, tolerating him at first, for the sake of the greater good. She tries her best not to fall in love with him but she can't help but gets drawn to him like a magnet. Over the course of time, she gathers that he's intelligent but he tends to sway towards the idiot meter at times. She doesn't know if he does it on purpose or he is really clueless. Still, he makes her laugh most of the time, and she considers it a rare feat. He's peeling off her layers of armour, and she's not resisting it.
...
'Yes'
Scott glances at his soul word scribbled below his right collarbone as he puts on his wedding suit. He's about to get married to Maggie, the love of his life, he thinks, but she's not his soul mate. He knows because he doesn't spot her soul word on any part of her body. Another thing about the soul word is it's only visible to your soul mate. Still, he's going to marry her anyway because he trusts his feelings more than his soul word. He's the type of person who rationalises with his heart rather than his brain.
He remembers the first time when his soul word was revealed to him and he thinks it's the most dull word one could ever have. Yes? What does it even mean? Anyone could say 'yes'. Lucky me, he thinks. Still, he doesn't let it get to him and tries to be positive about it. Later on, he accepts his soul word as a response word and always gets a little tad too excited whenever a girl replies with the word 'yes' but realises that his first words weren't the other party's soul mark. It's disappointing at times, but he falls in love eventually with Maggie, even though he knows they're not intended to be.
He receives the divorce papers when he's in prison and he doesn't blame her really. The best thing that came out from his marriage? His daughter, Cassie. He can't deny he's a little heartbroken about it but he thinks it's for the best, their love had been long gone and he wonders if it's because he and Maggie aren't soul mates. Scott thinks he's never going to find love again but oh boy, was he dead wrong when he meets Hope Van Dyne, who's the complete opposite of him and it all started with the word 'yes'.
...
"Yes.", she replies austerely.
The word hits him like a wave, shocking him and his mouth falls open. He feels a stinging burn at his soul mark and he realises immediately, that she's his soul mate. He cannot believe his eyes. He doesn't blurt it out to her, surprisingly, and keeps it a secret because he can't make out where the hell he is now.
First impression she gives him, he figures she's an Ice Queen, but she warms up to him eventually after pouring her heart out to him. He learns that she's smart, kind and deadly (in martial arts). 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a wasp.' He quotes whenever they spar together and despite almost always landing on the floor or in between her thighs, he doesn't complain. She's graceful and she's strong and he thinks she's amazing. He falls in love with her, not because he knows she's his soul mate, but simply because it happened.
...
"We --need --t-to --be quiet.", Hope gasps in between moans as Scott peppers a trail of kisses down her neck, nipping a sweet spot, sending shivers down her spine.
"Why? You're afraid we'll get caught?", he gives her a cheeky lopsided grin. They're entangled together, standing in front of her childhood bedroom. She can't believe she's sneaking around and making out with him again, like teenagers, in her father's house.
"We did get caught.", she gives him an impressive eye roll. She still hasn't forgiven him for leaving her alone, embarrassed, when her father had caught them red-handed, kissing.
"Forgive me for wanting to kiss the girl of my dreams after almost not making it back.", he's gazing at her tenderly, but he sounds too cocky about it.
"I'm the girl of your dreams huh.", she reiterates his words, and despite scrunching up her nose in annoyance, the corners of her mouth curves into a smile subconsciously. God, what has gotten into her. He's blown her brain into splinters.
He grins widely, and responds with crashing his lips into hers. She kisses him back, not shying away, wrapping her arms around his neck. A familiar warmth starts to pool at his lower abdomen and she climbs onto him, her thighs straddling his hips, while he supports her with ease. They break apart, both hungry for air, and their eyes meet, and it makes her giggle because he's making her feel fireworks and she hasn't felt this way for a very long time. Her head falls on his shoulder as she continues to bubble over with laughter and she's looking so adorable it makes him laugh too.
He twists the door knob, kicks the door open, and moves toward the bed hastily. He gently places her down and just as he gets his one knee onto the mattress, she points to the door that's left ajar behind him. "You're supposed to close the door, silly.", Hope smirks at his eagerness.
"Wouldn't want Hank catching us this time.", Scott tilts his head with a knowing smile plastering on his face. He hops to the door, closes it and locks it for preventive measure. When he turns around, he sees that she's on her knees on the bed and she's already taken off her blouse. His eyes widen as he traces her beautiful and delicate outline, and he spots, unmistakably, his handwriting at the lower edge of her left ribcage.
His breath hitches because they're meant to be.
He wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
He's never been so sure of it.
"What is it?", she observes that his face had went blank.
"Hope, you're my...you're my soul mate.", he manages at last, almost afraid to say it just in case he scares her off, but he tells her anyway. He's not going to hold it back, not this time.
She looks away, shakes her head and laughs. "You're an idiot Scott."
His eyes doesn't leave hers as he walks to the bed, and then he's down on all fours on the mattress, moving towards her.
"I was wondering when will you ever tell me about it, considering you're such a dork." She lets him cup her cheeks with his large hands, while he stares at her endearingly and intensely. He doesn't say a word but catches her lips with his instead, hoping to convey all of his emotions that words could not describe in their kiss.
She can't help but smile because she's finally embracing it, embracing their destiny.
