t̳o̳d̳a̳y̳'̳s̳ m̳o̳o̳d̳:̳ E.T.A. HOFFMANN
Some time ago I was thrilled reading The Golden Pot by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (1776-1822) and some of his other mesmerizing stories. And I was excitied to know that besides being a brilliant writer he was also a painter, a lawer and - that was the most surprising thing for me to know - a musician and composer!
Schloss Wolfenbüttel in Niedersachsen ...I'm in love with this wonderful photography by hdgesehen. And I just wanted to accompany a musical piece by E.T.A. Hoffmann with this amazing image, 'cause I feel like their core magic is overlapping...

...so, I started searching for his musical works on youtube, and now there're 14 gems by E.T.A. Hoffmann in my Instrumental.Classics playlist. I'm afraid I couldn't embed the whole playlist here, I guess it's only the very first composition that is featured. ↓...I also want to share here this wonderful illustration from an E.T.A. Hoffman's book (my most fav one so far:), The Golden Pot/Der goldne Topf, portraying the student Anselmus, the main character of the novel...
...unfortunatelly, I lost the credit for this amazing work:( I can only recall that it is done by a german artist, and it's much more likely a very old one... I will update on this once I happen to re-discover the original source of the image.
