Some soft doodles of link signing (bc I had to use what I learned in sign language class today somehow)

Not necessary for understanding the drawings, but imagine an au where link wakes up but without leaning about his past and that he has to fight ganon???? So he just kinda travels across the land and eventually gets taken in by the people in hateno and he just gets to heal and live peacefully for once in his life

Bonus points if all the village kids love him and cling to him and let him make them food and play with him

I've been working on this with friends for a few months now, it's a 32 page zine that's like a fake cooking magazine with illustrations of the food from Tears of the Kingdom paired with real working recipes written by actual chefs!!!!!!

LOOK HOW GOOD EVERYONE DID AHHHH!!!

In Tears of the Kingdom, Clavia, the wife of the mayor of hateno village, takes care of Zeldas house while Zelda is gone. Clavia sweeps the floor in the house and keeps it tidy. As we know, Zelda has been living in Hateno village, the now largest hylian settlement in Hyrule, founding a school and studying in her secret well. Everyone in Hateno village knows her, she's the princess of course they know her.

If you approach Clavia while she's on her way home from cleaning the princess' house, Clavia will tell you something along the line of, she's tired and heading home, and if you need somewhere to sleep you should check in at the inn.

Zelda has most likely been working with the mayor, and knows Clavia and that's why Clavia cleans the princess' house. There is no fucking way that IF Link lived together with Zelda, she wouldn't know.

So no, Zelda and Link do not live together in Hateno village, and if you talk to the villagers it doesn't seem like Link even visits Hateno that often. Literally the Zora in Breath of the wild recognize Link better after 100 years than the villagers in Hateno did after 6ish years. Most likely Link lived and worked at Lookout Landing and he gave away his house to the princess.

I'm not saying Link and Zelda aren't a couple, they do seem to be very close, but they definitely just did not live together.

I don't want to start a completely new game just to prove that Clavia says that you should check in at the hotel, but here is a screenshot of what she says if you talk to her a second time while she's on her way home. Like she really doesn't want you to sleep in Zeldas house.

I'm newly unemployed, it's 2 in the morning, but who gives an ass, cuz it's time for more ZELINK SHIT, SLUTS!

Again TotK spoilers under the cut. (I feel like it's been long enough, but just in case)

So in my last Zelink post, I said why I believed Zelda and Link were the only people in Hyrule who were unaware that they were dating despite sleeping in the same bed. Well now I'm going to paint a word picture for you about that last bit. The bed bit.

So, immediately after BotW, I imagine the first major settlement Link took Zelda was Kakariko. Catch up with Impa, meet Paya, talk rough rebuilding plans, the usual. Then Link talks to Impa and kinda puts his foot down.

"She needs a home right now. Decompress. Enjoy the light of day. Sleep."

Impa signs off on it, Link brings Zelda to Hateno, shows her his house (notably never calls it "his",) they have their moment when she sees the Champions' weapons and the photo, and they settle in for the first night. Zelda looks at the bed and goes "So... Umm..." But Link tells her he's got a mattress set up under the stairs for himself. She goes "Ah, I see." She's disappointed, and simultaneously doesn't know why and totally knows why. They say goodnight and they each listen to the faint sound of the other breathing until they fall asleep. (Zelda falls asleep first.)

Time passes, they go on journeys, maybe return a Champion weapon, maybe check out a Divine Beast, etc. Then one night comes, the loneliness and distance and sadness become too much. Link says goodnight, but Zelda stops him. She asks him quietly but firmly to sleep in her bed tonight. Link is hesitant, but Zelda firmly pleads her case and Link is incapable of denying her request.

She makes room for him, he cautiously climbs in and they get settled in. Zelda's the one to initiate contact, but no spooning or anything, just resting against him. No words are exchanged as they're each just thinking real hard about their situation. Sleep eventually comes.

The next morning, Link wakes up first to find that they've snuggled up with each other quite comfortably. He can't stop staring at her peacefully sleeping face. When he notices her starting to wake up, he pretends to be asleep for some reason he can't figure out. She gasps audibly and briefly panics before remembering what happened. He "wakes up" the two start the day only slightly less awkwardly than expected.

The next night, it's already part of their routine. The awkwardness fades quickly. However, as I said before, there's no romantic progress made. To them, there's nothing to see here, just a princess and her chosen knight sleeping in the same house, in the same twin-sized bed. Totally normal. Yep.

Rating how comfortable all the beds in botw look

PART ONE

Quick side note - tysm for all the likes, I appreciate it very much. To put how I feel right now into words, I would say that I feel like a silly little court jester who has done a silly little dance and now people like me

Shrine Of Resurrection

2/10 - would NOT recommend

◍All that fog in the beginning of the game is just condensation

◍looks like it's made for one specific height

◍ain't nobody over 5'3 fitting in there

◍no way that water isn't FREEZING cold after 100 years

◍how am I supposed to be the Hero Of Hyrule™ if I'm sleeping in cold water??

Uh oh hero of Hyrule caught a cold better tell ganon to take a week off terrorising everyone ig

◍at least the coldness would wake me up

Old Man's House

1/10 - would NEVER recommend

◍Lumpy "mattress"

◍the blanket looks so thin that an A4 piece of paper would be more warm

◍At least rhoam tried

But tbh the tried and fell like a cartoon character slipping on a comically placed banana peel

Hateno Village Bed

8/10 - would recommend

◍Looks like it would keep me warm on a cold rainy day

◍Sturdy and reliable bedframe

◍Cute and fresh bedsheets

Link's House Bed

5/10 - would recommend but at your own risk

◍cozy looking

◍Does not smell the best

You gotta think about how many times link has gone to bed without taking a bath (if he even does) and if he takes his dirty and/or sweaty armour off when he goes to bed (which I don't think he does tbh)

◍Cute bedsheets

◍Again, sturdy and reliable bedframe

◍Link might kill you if he catches you tho

Purah's Bed

7/10 -would recommend if you're small

◍Extra bouncy and fluffy bedsheets

◍tbh I really like the frilly edges

◍comfy as hell

◍Will have Purah asking you to leave tho

Goron City Bed

2/10 - wouldn't recommend

◍this looks like it's the root cause of back problems

◍yk that goron that has u get his ibuprofen bc of his back?? This is why

◍Can't smell bad cause the only thing u would be able to smell is ur burning nose hair

Tarrey Town Bed

7/10 - would recommend

◍Comfortable? Yes. Cozy? Not so much

I know that they're the same word but in my mind, there's a clear distinction between comfortable and cozy

◍cool and fresh bedsheets

◍bed would move if you did something tho, so not sturdy or reliable, it's literally just stacked planks of wood

I realized I should probably make Hateno's bio image actually showcase that he's an amputee, so I have to decide on a tunic that's sleeveless or can be made so. However, the Ember was my main fave and I don't strictly want to prioritize Frostbite if others appeal!

In most cases, modifications will be done to make it work with the prosthetic arm better and, if necessary, make it a more functional daily-wear kind of shirt (and isn't kinda racist, if applicable)

Please reblog or reply if you choose one of the options that is more open, eg. voting for voe or vai, which sleeved tunic, or if you want to suggest a culture to base the original design off of. (I've done Byzantine for Minish's outfit, and Mongolian for Four and Prince's, and pseudo-Victorian for fancier versions of Chief's stuff.)

A few limits: I will not consider any of the armours that were DLC/Amiibo in BOTW except for the Royal Guard shirt. I also don't really want to modify less daily-wear armour sets, like Snowquill, Flamebreaker, or the Knight's Armour.

You know what would be neat? If TotK imports your rupees from BotW but you can only access them when you drop by the house in Hateno and open your closet (like in Skyward Sword).
