I feel silly even asking, but I was wondering, why do jewish people tend to censor the word G-d? Do they also censor it in speech? I really have tried looking it up but I'm getting contradictory answers, and I think it's best to always ask someons of a certain community about their own culture if you can. Have a lovely day!
Hey, it’s not silly at all! Every question is valuable, it’s good to be inquisitive!
There’s much debate on the censoring of G-d, especially in the digital era— do we censor all of G-d’s names and titles? Does it count when recorded via audio? Such is the case for everything Jewish, there’s always an argument over the intricacies. You’ll see Rabbis have varied interpretations and thoughts on the handling of G-d’s names.
G-d is but a title, we do not know Their true name. The Eternal, HaShem (meaning “The Name”), G-d, Lord, the Universe. Whatever you call Them, Him, Her.
The prohibition itself of destroying the Lords name stems from a passage in Dt. 12:3-4, where we are commanded to obliterate the names of idols, "but you shall not do so to the Name of the Lord your G-d." It’s a gesture of respect and honouring G-d, to not write Their name in places where it can be perished or destroyed.
Here’s a piece on the handling of G-d’s name within the digital realm!
And more info here:

As a trans person, I know I'm created in the image of Hashem because I too go by different names depending on who it is, and I too have names no one is allowed to know or say.

Ya know what would be really nice? If we could get a nice sign from the Big Boss that everything will be ok.
If only He could reassure us that in Iron Swords (the name of the war), we are going to come out victorious.
I mean, we know it and some of us do see signs but they’re subtle.
A strong sign would be nice, wouldn’t it? Maybe just a head nod and a message “I got you!”
You asked and you shall receive.
National Geographic has just announced the discovery of iron swords in a cave in the Judean Desert as the dramatic archaeological find of 2023.
The iron swords were hidden by Jewish rebels during the revolt against Roman empire 2,000 years ago.
“Four ancient but well-preserved swords — found serendipitously by an Ariel University archaeologist who slipped his hand into a hole in a hidden chamber of a Judean Desert Cave — have been named the “Number-One Find for 2023” of National Geographic Magazine.”
You cannot make this stuff up.
Thank you, Hashem.
Your message has been received loud and clear!

Vulnerable
And in any given moment of vulnerability,
the pain will knock loudly at my door,
Looping in and out of conscious contact-
Sense the shadows sliding surreptitiously
Down the steps of ancient temples.
I’ve been in possession of better intentions,
And an observer of bitter blows.
Seen love delivered door to door,
Nurtured attraction on fog filled evenings,
Collided carelessly with ego unkempt and unsteady on its feet.
Shattered feelings lying like broken eggs on the backbone of the universe,
Bliss looks bleakly through reverse keyholes,
And casts a wistful eye over her shoulder…
…Was that reflected sordid smile meant for me…
A token of tarnished tremors,
Erected between the gates of golden tressed gardens,
Punctured by the pride of pretty persuasion,
Strung out on the handlebars of success,
Placated by the shrapnel of perversity.
And somewhere amongst a wall of wary whispers…
I hear God tell me to put it down…
Over and over past the gathered forces of absurdity …
…in any given moment of vulnerability

"Do Not Disturb" on the door
Pile of clothes on the floor
Bedside manners, profane grammar
I've seen this scene before
Ooh, it's got me down on my knees
Begging, but I won't say please
Shell shocked and rolling, bells are tolling
But this won't be the end of me”

TRIGGER WARNING
From my a Facebook friend Brian Wilson:
""The entire catholic religion comes from the worship of Horus, Isis and Osiris
The Egyptian legend of Horus is the story of Jesus, but much older, perhaps dating back several thousand years before Jesus. The most notable facts of his life are the following:
- Horus, was born of the Virgin Isis more or less on December 25 in a cave.
- The birth of Isis was announced by a star and was attended by three wise men.
- As a child he was a premature teacher at the temple and was "baptized" at the age of 30.
- The man who baptized Horus was named Anup the “Baptist”.
- Horus had 12 disciples.
- He performed many miracles and resurrected a man named “El-Azar-us”.
- Horus also walked on the waters.
- He transfigured into a Mountain.
- Horus, was crucified, buried to later resurrect.
- Horus was also known as: The Light, The Messiah, The Anointed One of God, The Son of Man, The Good Shepherd, The Lamb of God, The Word. Etc etc...
- Horus was related to the Lamb, the Lion and the Fish.
- The epithet of Horus was “Iusa,” “the son always sitting next to “Ptah”, the Creator.
- Horus was phonetically also called Krst or the First Anointed.
In the Egyptian book of the Hidden Abode it says:
The day Horus (The Intimate) gains victory over Seth (The Animal Ego) and his demons, I die, I triumph over my enemies during the night of the feast in which the Djed God is exalted in Djedu before the deities residing over the vines ace of the death.
Whoever wants to go up must first come down, that is the Law; every exaltation is preceded by humiliation. Every psychological defect seen internally with the eye of Horus, has in truth a satanic, animalistic form.
HORUS can kill the Boar black , but he alone can’t but has to ask for Divine Mother’s help. Eliminating the Boar black triumphs Horus and the Essence that was bottled is released fusing with Horus, with the Diamond Soul, unites with its Father and Mother, they are Three Flames that come to form a single Flame Made. The Essence is an unfolding of Horus, we need to ask Horus to fortify our Three Brains. As the Ego dies, Horus is fortifying, and that's why he needs to be asked to fortify those Three Brains.
Let us seek OSIRIS, ISIS and HORUS within ourselves in the unknown depths of our own being.. OSIRIS, ISIS and HORUS constitute the MONADA, DUADA and TRIAD of our INTIMATE BEING..
JESUS, YESHUA AND HORUS is the same, it's the Child who always goes into arms of his Mother Isis or Mary. It is the same Christ who has descended from the Second Logos, the cosmic Christ already humanized, transformed into the Son of a Divine Man and a Divine Woman. He has become a Savior-Child-King, but he is a Particular-Child-King-King, since he is one's very Being.
OSIRIS and HORUS, were the great elementary Gods of ancient Egypt.
The elemental gods are imposing and terrible, especially HORUS (pronounced Aurus), which in his forearm wears several bracelets or rings of solid gold, and when he gives one of these to an "Initiative", then it becomes a guide to a great town.""

We all have Jew and nonjew within the self. All life depends on who loves the Jew. Even the Jew can hate the Jew. If we harbor any hate, we oppreses the self. Whoever loves the Jew is in the Jew and the Jew is in him 🙏 We all are one but the one who loves the other is the Jew. See my website for today's new post. Being environmentally conscious (as much as I am able to do) is important to me because HaShem made our planet as well as us so it seems only right that we take care of it to honor Him.

Okay this is not very strictly related to my blog theme, which is fandom.
But I'm currently in a Leo Baeck College free talk Zoom call, BEING PROGRESSIVE AND SPIRITUAL with RABBI DR RENÉ PFERTZEL.
We are talking about many things, but he asked us just now "What does it mean to love G-d?" I think this question very hard to answer to. I'd like to read your opinions about this, your answers.
(I would highly prefer if only Jews or student converts answered, as this is about Judaism)

Want to live a more religious life but don't know where to start? Here are some ideas:
Get into the habit of praying, even if it's short and in-between a busy routine. You can worry about putting intentional time away for prayer later; it's just important to start.
Maintain an attitude of gratefulness. Hashem has blessed us with a life where we get to witness His creation each and every day. As the Talmud says, do not be overwhelmed by the state of this world! It's definitely hard at first, but now finding beauty and good in God's creation is like second nature to me.
Thank Hashem at least once a day; it may seem like very little, but I didn't even thank God weekly. Doing it just once a day can (and hopefully will!) change your perspective and nurture your relationship with Hashem.
Don't try to sit and read the Torah all at once! While I admire the devotion of those who read the Torah every day to study it in depth, I'm often too busy or forgetful to do so. What I do, is I read the Torah over the course of the week and reread the portions that move me.
Once you're used to prayer and reading the Torah, I would begin the practice of reading one page of the Talmud each day! However, if you have a tight schedule, then reading the Torah is more than enough to praise Hashem.
Begin to cut out and/or limit the amount of "forbidden" food you consume. Everyone's lives are different and not everyone is able to keep kosher (I would be lying if I said I do it regularly myself); however, this practice may be deeply fulfilling to some so I'm including it in here!
Find community! Follow blogs that inspire you to follow Hashem and lead a life dedicated to Him. It can be overwhelming and isolating at times, so finding community whether online or in person is so, so important
Forgive yourself. You're imperfect and that's okay. We all fall short of God's kindness and beauty. It's our effort to exist in God's image and to follow the way of life He commanded us to that counts.
It's okay to not get it right the first time. It's okay to be disorganized. Faith is hard and life is messy. It's your effort that proves your love and devotion to Hashem, not about whether you have the practice of Following Him just right. I hope this list is helpful to some 💖✡️

“[In regard to His knowledge] He is the Knower, He is the Knowledge, and He is what is known.
He is life; He is the one living, and He is the one who draws down life to Himself.
The same applies with regard to His other attributes. These concepts are difficult to comprehend. A person cannot expect to gain a complete understanding of the matter from two or three of my lines.”
—— Rambam; Rabbinic scholar, mystic, and court physician to Saladin. On the subject of the One, non-corporeal creator of the Universe

.וְהִיא שֶׁעָמְדָה לַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ וְלָנוּ
"And She is the One who stood for our forefathers and for us."
[Pesach Haggadah]
"And G-d took us out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstreched arm, and with great awe, and with signs and with wonders."
[Deuteronomy, Ki Tavo, 26:8]
Thinking about how the One who Stood (Hashem) in V'Hi Sh'Amda in the Haggadah is referred to as "She".......
