Zexal headcannons that appeared out of nowhere. (There's a lot btw)
Cathy and Shark bite people. Cathy mainly nibbles or nips you, whilst Shark will full on bite you. The Numbers Club are covered in nips from Cathy and bite marks from Shark. Cathy tends to nip Tori a lot on her arms and occasionally Rio too. Shark will just bite Yuma a lot and Rio to annoy her. Cathy only bites if she's in a bad mood (Yuma witnessed it firsthand) also Shark loves to bite shoulders. He sees a shoulder (mostly Yuma's) goes up behind them and bites.
The only people that Shark will ask to bite is Tori and Trey. Tori because he once bit her and drew blood which made him feel bad (he'll never admit to that tho) and Trey, mostly cause he's sweet and he doesn't want to hurt him (he will deny that too!) despite Trey telling him its fine.
Shark goes feral from time to time. He tends to growl and chomp people, but the worst he's ever done was to Vector, where he bit his arm hard, that he tore the flesh and didn't let go. Despite Vector wildling shaking his arm.
Yuma and Shark like to climb tall people (Flip would be included, but cause I don't really like him much, he doesn't get climbing people privelages) Yuma mostly climbs either Kite or Nistro whilst Shark climbs Chris and Thomas. Shark always kicks Thomas in the shins before climbing him, just to piss him off.
Yuma also likes to climb on Astral. He'll never forget the day when he climbed Astral, back when his friends couldn't see him, and they freaked out on how Yuma was floating. The only person Yuma never climbs is his sister because he accidentally kicked her and she flung him off her back.
Shark files his canines. He started when he first got the nickname "Shark" and still does to this day.
Astral collects shiny objects. Anything that shimmers and sparkles, Astral will pick up. There's a pile of shiny things in the Emperor's key where Astral keeps his treasures. It definately has gotten larger when he got a more solid form since he got Yuma to collect them in the past.
Mizar makes bird noises. Everytime a bird chirps or tweets, Mizar does it back. His favourite bird is the canary and one time, he squawked after Vector scared him and is not allowed to live that down.
Alito & Girag are bronies. They discovered the show whilst flicking through channels at the BARian and fell in love. They both cried like babies when the show ended. Alito's favourite pony is Rainbow Dash and Girag's is Fluttershy.
Dumon curses people in Latin. Not "fuck you!" or "You asshole!" in Latin, I mean actually CURSING people. He only does it if he's extremely pissed off and Alito once got cursed by Dumon, he had the aboslute worst day ever and nearly died on 5 separate occasions.
The Tenjo brothers have one secret: Kite doesn't read Hart bedtime stories, Hart reads them to Kite. Ever since Hart got sick and Kite dying on the moon, the older Tenjo brother has nightmares, so Hart reads to him every night before bed.
Ever since "Sharks" by Imagine Dragons came out, Shark became obsessed and Rio is already sick of it.
Despite being the biggest klutz, Yuma is a pretty good baker. He learnt from his grandma Haru, and tends to bake for his friends and when he stressed, since it's the only thing that calms him down. The whole kitchen became a bakery once the Barians started attacking and even more so when he lost Astral.
Even though he's seen as the sweetest Arclight sibling, Trey loves to wear leather and is a heavy metal fan. The only one who knows of his secret is Shark.
Rio hates flowers, especially being gifted them because of her allergies. Due to her being popular, she's had many guys confess their love to her, shoving flowers in her face and it makes her furious and sneeze a lot. She now carries around a pair of scissors so if someone gifts her flowers, she can cut them.
Quattro is a botanist. He found various books on plant life and decided to learn everything about them. He takes it very seriously (a shock to the rest of the family) and if being a World Duelist fails, he plans on taking his studies further.
Dextra gives up dueling full-time to be a Lepidopterist (someone who studies butterflies and moths). It was a shock but Kite, Nistro and Hart fully support her and do whatever they can to help her out with her career change. She still duels, but it's sparingly due to her new career.
Quattro & Dextra are besties. It was the biggest shock but there was a reason behind it. Dextra was at the library, looking for books on butterfly anatomy and bumped into Quattro as he was looking for more books on plants. The two became fast friends after Quattro helped Dextra out with some of her research. They both are planning on opening a butterfly sanctuary where Dextra can let the people of Heartland City know about various butterfly species and Quattro on the various plant life. Quattro will continue on entering tournaments to provide some of the funding for their project.
Nistro owns a café. He opened it once Mr. Heartland left since he is a big fan of cosy cafe's (he'll deny it but Dextra has seen his browser history)
Shark has an altar ego: Yumi. Yes, he loves to crossdress. He wears a pink wig, green contacts and has a hidden box full of girl clothes. He's even trained his voice to sound like a girl. The Numbers Club have met "Yumi" but are stupidly oblivious to not realise that Shark hasn't met her face to face but Rio is suspicious tho.
(There will be more added so do keep an eye on this because it will be expanded whenever a headcannon forms)

So while the name "Kaito Faker" would sound horrible, anyone else think it's kinda strange that neither of Dr. Faker's kids have the same last name as him? Their last names being Tenjo implies they're named after their mother, who is never seen, heard, or mentioned once throughout the entire duration of the show (unless I'm forgetting something super small, in which case tell me)
But who IS their mother? I'm sure plenty of people have talked this one to death already, but the idea of her being from Astral World has become kind of a favorite fan theory of mine considering Haruto looks like this...
There's no way he's not meant to resemble an Astralite
He and Astral both have those round head things, and his outfit resembles the line markings that Astral has on his body. Haruto has gold eyes, while Astral's got silver and gold, which I guess you could chalk up to him being like... Artificially created? If I'm remembering right? I haven't watched Zexal in so long help sodkdmdk
Blue seems to be a very common eye color for Astralites, with colors like gold being a rare exception, since the only ones who seem to have it are Enna...
And Eliphas, once again with the heterochromia
Why is he the only one other than Astral to have like,,, defined eyes by the way? No one else is good enough to get pupils and all that? They just have the entire eye be one color unless they're special? Mister "I'm the will of the entire planet so only I get to have special eyes" smh.
Seriously I want to understand their biology so badly someone please tell me what all these little details about their bodies mean
ANYWAYS I got distracted, but going back to the whole Kaito and Haruto are Astral hybrids theory, the only issues with it are the canon timeline of events. Faker wasn't shown to have started getting involved in this whole other world business until 5 years before the start of the show, meaning Kaito would have been 13 when his dad met Vector and agreed to destroy Astral World. Him having an Astral mom would need to have been a thing even further back than that, which would require Faker to have met an Astral being at least 13 years before he ever met Vector. But what would an Astralite be doing on Earth if they didn't have a mission to be there? After all, Earth is full of primitive beings who like chaos, so why would anyone go there?
Well.
This is all just me throwing ideas out there, but what if it were Enna? For one thing, she's shown protecting the children on her planet in a lot of her scenes, so she kind of gives off that motherly figure energy.
For another, she's also the only adult woman we ever see on that planet, as everyone else is either a child or Eliphas.
Enna is also like. Pro chaos, which is a very human thing (also a very Barian thing all things considered, but since Faker was still very much the dad, we'll keep going under the assumption that he and Enna could have been a thing.) Like she was very much for chaos being used to heal the residents of her world, which was kind of a radical viewpoint for her to have considering all the centuries they've spent casting it out completely. Accepting chaos seems to be a very outside way of thinking for her people, and while it is entirely possible that she simply saw people suffering and came to the conclusion on her own that getting rid of chaos just wasn't helping anyone, it'd be kinda cool if she picked that perspective up on a trip to Earth.
At this point this is becoming more of a "wouldn't it be cool if" type of post rather than a theory, but... I mean, wouldn't it be cool if Faker's role in Zexal I had been trying to connect Astral World and Earth so that he wouldn't be galaxies away from the mother of his children? Idk, I think that'd have been a way neater plot than him trying to destroy it to help his sick child, and you wouldn't have to change around Too much of the plot to make it happen. Kite would still be hunting numbers, albeit for a different reason, but still a reason related to his family. Vector likely wouldn't appear until the very end of Zexal I and could have been a boss fight. In the original plot, he had that deal with Faker that he'd heal his sick son in exchange for destroying Astral World, but you could either nix that entirely, or have Faker agree initially with every intent of double crossing Vector and having his true intentions be to get Haruto home with his other parent where he'll be safe, regardless of what happens to him as a result.
Once again, my opinion, but. I think it'd be better than what they actually did with Faker's character, having him seem cruel and evil up to the very end, not seeming to care about his son and in fact seeming to enjoy hurting him, only for a last minute reveal that he doesn't actually hate him despite all his actions showing otherwise, he had his best interests in mind the whole time, no really stop laughing. A rewrite like this would actually show him willing to do anything to keep his son out of harm's way, regardless of what might happen to him after Haruto is out of danger, and would make him far more deserving of the redemption the show tried to give him (which really was not deserved in canon all things considered, and it didn't even come from the right person, it came from Yuma, someone not part of the family he'd been hurting, but that's another separate rant.)
Like... I don't know man, I feel like Zexal gave us too many hints about Haruto not being from this world, what his his whole deal in season one, his appearance, etc, and then they just kinda let it fall flat? They set up a possible reveal for him that they just never really followed through on. :/ And I haven't even talked about his brother yet.
Kaito doesn't bear as strong a resemblance to your typical Astralite, or if he does, it's more... Subtle.
I've seen others point out that both Astral and Kaito have hair that curves up, but given that it's just these two who have that trait while all the other background citizens on Astral's home planet seem to have hair that either spikes outward or flows down, I'm not sure if that's a strong point for or against the possibility that they share a common background... Kaito also has blue eyes, which we've established as a common color for Astralites, but since it's also a common enough human eye color, it feels like a bit of a reach to call that proof, too. His dad's got purple eyes, so he definitely didn't get the color from Faker, but it's also Yugioh, so relatives having completely dissimilar characteristics isn't exactly uncommon... The two traits Kaito has that could link him to being from Astral's world could just as easily be a coincidence.
You know what's weird about Kaito? Photon Transformation. I mean, where does he even get that ability from? It's never fully explained how he'd able to do it, he just does it, and whatever it does to him, somehow hurts him to use it. That could possibly point to him not being fully human if the other half of his heritage is able to pull off something like that naturally, but we once again know so little about Astralites that it winds up being speculation again.
I haven't actually watched Zexal in a very hot minute btw, so if anyone wants to chime in to correct me on something I got wrong/add in something I missed, go right ahead!

So I've been seeing some analyzing lately about Kite on here and that make me think of him and Hart and that made me think about two things one Hart illness and two the boys mom. We never see anything about her we know Faker was distant because of trying to find a cure which is probably why he was never there and his job also implied being very long still doesn't excuse his bad fathering but it explains enough to us why he was absent their mom however is never brought up once and a scene someone posted on tumblr shows Kite saying he never had anyone other Hart and he explicitly states he never had parents so what happened to his mom and Hart's illness is also never explained or even shown he was just f-up because of his dad but it's also stated as incurable so what does that mean for Hart.
Well, as for Hart's illness, I think it being left vague was probably because it would be too difficult to explain, but I personally don't think it's too much of a plot hole.
As for the mom, oooh boy. That is a HECK of a plot hole, but I think I might have figured it out, because of Kite saying he never had any parents. If we look at Dr. Faker, as a scientist of that level he would have always been busy, to the point of rarely being around, and then when the stuff with Hart happened Faker disappeared. You could say Kite never had a dad to begin with.
Following this logic, we can guess what Kite's mother was like. Considering the large age gap between Kite and Hart, his mother needed to have been around until recently. Unless, of course Kite and Hart have different mothers. So, there are two ways this could have been.
The first one is that Kite's mom was neglectful. Like Faker, she was hardly ever around. By the time Hart was born, she disappeared, probably because her husband was no longer actively involved in the boys' life in any way, and was probably the reason for her staying at all. And so, really, Kite never had a mother at all. She was never around for him.
The other way is the idea that maybe Kite and Hart have separate mothers. Kite's mother could have died giving birth to him or just walked out. Perhaps it was Kite's stepmother who raised him, rather than his own, who left him, meaning Kite never really had a mother or father. I think this is pretty likely too, due to how different Kite and Hart look. (Then again, there are the Kaiba brothers who are practically opposites. But even then there's a chance they're unrelated)
I think it's very likely that Hart's mother died in childbirth. Hart was said to be born with his illnesses, and I get the impression that those complications around his birth also took a toll on his mother, and caused her death, leaving Hart and Kite.
Whether Kite and Hart share their mother, I feel it is very likely that she had no relationship with him, like Faker. Kite had stated he never had ANY parents, including the very alive Faker. He wasn't being literal, these were the words of an angry, rejected child whose parents were never around. He doesn't really mean he has no parents, he means that his parents were never around and neglected him, so he might as well have not had them.
Tl:DR: Hart being born with illnesses had also taken a toll his pregnant mother, who passed from the birth. Whether Kite and Hart share a mother or Hart's mother was a step-mother, the mother in Kite's life was barely around, like his father, which has resulted with Kite feeling rejected and therefore rejecting them in turn, saying he never had anyone but Hart.
