Trying to forget Lord Voldemort was like trying to catch rain. It’s funny, how the only one who made her heart pound and race at speed unrivaled and the loudest gongs of beats was Voldemort. Her heart has never raced as blindingly fast as it did the entire graveyard, the entire alleyway… Not even when she was with Cedric, kissing Cedric; and Harry thought that was fast enough, deadly enough. It was nothing compared to this heartbeat Voldemort plays her heart with. It isn't a drum. It's a whole orchestra, a whole march of drumming soldiers on a parade, a whole ensemble to fill the Great Hall, to populate the largest theater in the world. The beat of a fearful, adrenaline-fueled heart striving for freedom, survival and escape, Harry considers, is strangely the same beat of a heart in love. An unstoppable, rapid, racing pounding against the prison of bones shaping the ribcage. To think fear could be as passionate as love. To think the heart could not cure it, not ignore it. To think blood is rushing fast, pumping fast, into the heart. To think the memory of the piercing red gaze was making her fingers shiver, toes go numb, knees quake, melting her gut, just like soft kisses on the lips would. Stop it, Harry tells it, not pressing her palm down onto her breast not to hurt herself, no matter how much she wants to punch her own heart as it pressed like a tattooing machine against her breast. Summary:

Against better judgement, Harry chanced to open her eyes, just an inch, just a little flutter, and through the little gap of sight, the red gleamed. Shocked to the point that her eyes were opening of their own will until she was looking at the man whose words she carried on her wrist, on whose wrist laid her own words to him.

Voldemort laughed delightedly at the sight of Harry. “Harriet.” Her soulmate spoke her name softly and clearly, as though these three syllables held the most magic in the world.

Harriet Potter wanted one quiet year at Hogwarts. She was certain her fourth year would have the honour regardless of the event of the Triwizard Tournament, but plans have been set in motion.
