Sharing these since the idea might help some people

My dad had this idea a few years back that he needed a cd of songs that purely made him happy. He realized that with the world the way it was and still is, he was not only affected by the news daily but also his music in the car. So he needed a Happiness CD and to only play the happy music.

His rules followed as such:

- only songs that made him happy, no other emotion

- no songs with nostalgia, such as from movies and musicals. Nostalgia wasn’t happy, at least not in the way he needed to feel untethered from his anxieties

Really simple honestly. His CD has these songs

I made a couple playlists for myself that I burned as CDs and they’re these (I think the second one is better than the first)

I introduced the idea to a friend who found it really helpful for putting herself into a mood she wanted to be in and I def suggest it. My dad did eventually make himself a CD with all the happy Disney music he loves, including a lot of park songs like the Tiki Room theme, but I do like that his more nostalgic songs are separate from the ones that aren’t

While I don’t care if you burn a cd or not, I do suggest a happy playlist that is just happy, positive music if you find your mood is often affected strongly by what you listen to. Have a lovely day everyone!!

Its okay if you need a longer time to adjust to new things than other people, its okay if you need a little more time to get used to new things, its alright if you take a bit longer to feel comfortable and familiar with new places, people and things.
