I loved the Tangled AU! Could you do a Once Upon A Time AU, please?
Absolutely!
Once Upon A Time AU
This ones a bit odd, but I actually love it. I loved this show. The first season, anyways. Once Upon A Time reminds me a little bit of me writing a fanfiction and then sort of being over it and fizzling out at the end.
But the first season is like... everything.
I love it so much.
Here we go!
Characters
Jack Kelly — Prince Charming
Katherine Plumber — Snow White
Racetrack Higgins — Emma Swan
Crutchie — Henry Mills
Joseph Pulitzer — Regina Mills
William Snyder — Rumplestiltskin
David Jacobs — Jiminy Cricket
Albert DaSilva — Ruby
Vince — Graham
Hot Shot — August
Medda — Granny
Sarah Jacobs — Abigail
Spot Conlon — Captain Hook
Hannah — Belle
Sniper — Neil
Romeo — baby Neil
Okay, so there’s a lot of characters with complicated backstories in this one. I’m only going to discuss a few of them this time around.
Racetrack Higgins (The Savior)
An orphan with a troubled past.
Race grew up in and out of orphanages and group homes, lost and alone
He is a stubborn, determined kid who grew up learning that he could rely on no one but himself
He’d always known he was different. He never fit in anywhere
He was a thief for more than half of his life and he got very good at pickpocketing and conning his way out of things
He grows up to be a bail bondsman
He’s kind of a badass.
On Race’s twenty fourth birthday, there’s a knock on his door just as he’s about to devour a single cupcake that he got after going out on a date with someone he met online which turned out to be someone he was looking for for his job
He finds a little boy with a brace on his right leg. He can’t be any older than seven.
The boy claims to be his son.
Race tries to explain that he doesn’t have a son. He never did.
The boy, who tells Race to call him Crutchie, tells Race that he didn’t know about him yet. But he tells Race that seven years ago, a girl gave him up. A girl named Anya.
The kid goes on about fairytales and how his adoptive father is truly evil and has trapped the town he lives in from its other world.
Race lets the kid in, a bit panicked for a minute before he regains control of himself and tells the boy he’s calling the police. Crutchie just tells him that if he does, he’ll tell the police that Race kidnapped him.
So, Race makes a deal with Crutchie. He tells Crutchie he’ll take him back, like the kid wanted him to, and he’ll listen to the stories that Crutchie had
Crutchie agrees
Race takes his supposed son back to this town. Storybrooke, Maine.
That’s when things begin to get crazy
Crutchie tells Race that he’s the product of true love, the son of Snow White and Prince Charming
Race doesn’t believe him. He tells him that he’s an orphan.
But the kid seems to know an awful lot about him.
Race gets sucked into this strange town after meeting the boy’s father who is odd and a little creepy
He does try to drive back to New York that night.
But he’s driven off the road by a wolf, crashing his car
He wakes up in a jail cell the next day and is stuck in this town. This town where time has just begun to move for the first time in twenty four years.
I could go on and on. Race goes and has been through a lot.
Katherine Plumber (Snow White)
a born princess and a born leader.
She had a happy childhood with her widowed mother up until it is announced that there is a stepfather coming into her life.
Her stepfather is a man she’d met before. Someone who used to be her friend. She indirectly killed the man’s first love
But she doesn’t know that
She just knows that they used to be friends
A couple months go by, after the wedding. And things are seemingly normal.
Until her mother dies unexpectedly.
And suddenly the man turns cruel and all Snow White has left to do is run as the man begins to try and kill him for killing his true love weeks before he was forced into a marriage he wanted no part of.
Snow flees to the woods, leaving the kingdom in the care of her stepfather, the Evil King Pulitzer.
She helps her people from the inside, per say, but is painted as a bandit by the royal castle and is hunted by the palace guards. She learns how to fight and steal and hide.
And one day, she steals from a prince. A very intriguing prince.
And a love story begins.
A prince and a disgraced princess. What could go wrong?
Eventually, the two are able to get married and expect a child.
It’s on the night that this child is born that the Evil King casts a curse over the land, trapping the kingdom in a land without magic, their prison being time as it does not move.
Not for 24 years.
In the real world, Snow becomes Katherine. Katherine Plumber. She’s a second grade teacher at the elementary school in town and a volunteer down at the hospital. Everyone adores her, except for Crutchie’s father, Mr. Pulitzer.
When Race meets her, she admits she’s the one who gave Crutchie the story book he’s become obsessed with. Race laughs and offhandedly asks her who she is in the book.
She says Snow White.
Race freezes for a moment but shakes it off.
Katherine likes Race. They end up becoming fast friends. Really close. And Kath eventually offers Race a place to stay after Race is kicked out of the motel he’d been staying at.
They become best friends.
She’s only twenty six.
Remember time’s frozen.
But Katherine is Race’s mother.
Just… neither of them know it.
Jack Kelly (Prince Charming)
A prince.
Well… sort of.
Born a peasant. He grew up on a farm. His father died when he was young. His mother was all he had.
Or so he thought.
But let’s not get into that now. What’s important is that Jack makes a deal with the Dark One. Pretend to be a prince, and his mother can live out her days on their farm.
He took the deal when he was seventeen.
He hates it.
The king hates him. Tries to torture him in fact, but cannot kill him, as he already lost what he calls his real son.
In reality, it was Jack’s twin brother, whom he was separated from at birth.
The king resents him but forces him to look and act the part, eventually promising him to marriage.
Jack doesn’t fancy his wife to be, but agrees, if only to get away from the king.
While on a trip with this insufferably dull woman, their carriage is robbed. By a single thief. A thief who Jack tackles to the ground.
It’s a woman.
A woman who gives him a scar on his chin by hitting him with a rock and running away.
But Jack doesn’t give up that easily.
He tracks down this thief who has taken a very valuable ring. His mother’s ring.
His name is James. He hates it. He’s called Jack for short to those who know him.
But Snow never calls him that.
“Charming” suits him.
After several adventures with this woman, ones where she saved his life and he saved her’s, after waking her from a sleeping curse, they get married and are expecting a baby.
That night, a curse falls over the land.
As Jack is rushing his newborn baby, Tyler James, to safety, he is stabbed. And he passes out just as the world goes dark.
In the real world, he is a John Doe in a coma at the hospital that Katherine volunteers at.
She reads to him every night.
And when he wakes up, he can’t remember a thing.
He has a wife. A wife thats not Katherine.
But he can’t help but see Katherine anyways.
And that stirs up trouble for the towns golden girl.
Eventually, Jack meets Race. A for a second he remembers.
And then Pulitzer is there to take it all away.
But Jack and Race are practically inseparable after that and end up becoming sheriffs of the town.
Jack is twenty eight.
Okay, since there’s so many characters and so many intricate storylines, I’m gonna stop at these three (my favorite three) for now.
I have another ask for this RP in my asks so I’ll dive a little more into a few other characters (or more on these ones) then. But if y’all wanna hear about specific characters or wanna see some scenes from the show, just let me know!
I do love the idea of this RP…
For more RP’s check out my list here!

America’s Got Talent: Season 14 - Finals
Well now I feel like a jerk! I ranked Emanne and Benicio as my Bottom 2 in my “Rooting For” list last week (though to be fair, between them, VoS and DYC, the factors that ranked them in the order they were in were practically nonexistent, because it was too close to even think), but I had no idea that BOTH of them had birthdays this week (and that Emanne’s was tomorrow). I mean no disrespect to the birthday boy and girl...
And again, I must emphasize that I have nothing against any of the acts that made it this far (barring some not-so-great performances from some of them). But when there are several acts that deserved to be here more than several of the acts that ARE here (oh, how naive we were to believe that Marcin EVER had a chance), and almost every act just feels like part of a big mushy sap monster, it was hard to feel much excitement going into tonight...But I kept the most open mind I could...
Let’s do what the judges aren’t willing to do and compare everyone based on their pros, cons and overall experience...by doing a Top 10 list!
...Oh yeah, and...Whoop-dee-doo, Finals and stuff...Let’s just get to it...
10: Detroit Youth Choir. It’s their audition all over again, but with more Nazi salutes! ...I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself...But seriously, they either didn’t have time to prepare a new song, or something happened keeping them from performing what they were ORIGINALLY gonna do...Either way, Macklemore is gonna be there tomorrow, so does that mean they’re gonna perform it a THIRD time!? Two nights in a row!? I guess I’m biased since this is the act that single-handedly ruined the Finals for me (just ONE guitarist in their place would have made all the difference in the world), but I really did honestly see a lot of potential in this act, and it’s kind of a shame that they fizzled out after they peaked at the Quarter-Finals...
9: Tyler Butler-Figueroa. It might be my anger at the Cowellization infesting these Finals why I’m putting Simon’s Golden Buzzer this low on the list after being overall positive to him throughout the game, but this one felt like a mess to me! The violin was scratchy and hard to listen to, it sounded like he couldn’t keep up with the backing-track, and there were no unique dances or staging to really help the entertainment value...At the end of the day, this kid really IS one of the acts that didn’t deserve to make it this far over other certain acts, despite how much I’ve enjoyed him overall...Brian King Joseph is coming back tomorrow; Maybe he’ll teach the kid a few lessons and help him hone his skills, because I know Tyler WILL be a great dancing violinist someday...He’s just not there yet...
8: Benicio Bryant. Well, the Benicio Bros are still by his side, even after he looked and sounded more lost than ever tonight! It’s a shame, because I still found his song to be fairly catchy...I mean, he’s no Robert Finley, but I see a lot of potential in him as well! He just needs to get over his stage fright is all...And maybe cut down on the Mr. Rogers sweaters...I WANTED to say Cosby, but I was worried about what that would imply about him...
7: Emanne Beasha. No real step up from before...She seemed a little shaky as well, but it didn’t bring the performance down as badly as Benicio...Uhhh, Happy Birthday to both of them?
6: Kodi Lee. Once again, this wasn’t his best! Is everyone just in denial or something!? I still stick by my opinion that he was at his best during his first two performances! But what do I know!? I’m just some schmuck writing countdown lists on a website that’s getting sold (yeah, heads up Frank, we might have to jump platforms again). Nothing I say is gonna stop Kodi from taking the win tomorrow night...
5: Ndlovu Youth Choir. I knew it was only a matter of time before they performed this song, and it was as fun and upbeat as I could have asked for! That being said, this didn’t have anything to offer that they didn’t give us before...THAT being said, they are definitely still the superior Youth Choir, regardless of which one gets more votes tomorrow...
4: Ryan Niemiller. Not the funniest material we’ve heard from him either, but I still love his energy and presence! I guess I’m committing a hate crime by not voting for him, but technically EVERYONE tonight qualifies for that...
3: Voices of Service. Maybe it’s because I came into tonight with a more open mind than last week, but whereas I quickly forgot about these folks before, tonight they were hands down my favorite singers! I guess I could go on about the same old stuff regarding their harmonies as well as their individual talents (I don’t even remember hearing much from the skinny guy before, but he might actually be the best singer of the bunch next to the lady!) It’s clear why they made it this far to begin with, but at least they have the talent to back up those cheap ‘n easy votes...
2: Light Balance Kids. THIS is the kind of creative, fun, well-choreographed, well-made performance I’ve been waiting for from these kids throughout the entire live shows! It had the same charm as their Judge Cuts performance, but with even more nicely-done effects! Kinda wish they put more focus on being this hip 90s-style youth group throughout the season...But either way, this should TOTALLY be the new “Let’s all go to the snack bar!” that plays before the movie...The goofy presentation with the food monsters would fit PERFECTLY with “It Chapter Two″! You’ll float too!
1: V.Unbeatable. They REALLY ramped up the crazy flips THIS time! Not much else to say...It’s good to know that they’re as popular as they are, but will it be enough to give them the win that they most definitely deserve...? Well, if nothing more they will DEFINITELY be in the Top 3 tomorrow...
You can tell Howie was trying to carefully dance around saying that this was the the “Best Finals Ever”, because he was contractually obligated to say it like he is every year, but I can definitely see why Simon would say that! These finals were everything he could have dreamed of! Oh, so many tear-jerking Cinderella stories...It’s enough to make a TV producer moan in ecstasy!
But when factoring in what actually MATTERS, tonight was about as lackluster as a line-up like this could have suggested...Only a few REALLY rose to the standards of the Finals...
My Votes: Appropriately enough, the two acts I was rooting for were also the best performers hands down tonight! For that, I used all three voting methods to give them as many votes as I could...
Result Predictions: There’s a case to be made for everyone tonight, but I do have a few observations...First of all, Ndlovu will probably be near the bottom in the votes, because they never had the support that the other Youth Choir had throughout the season...And I think the reason for that is the old factor of DYC being a group of dozens of kids, who each have numerous family members to vote for them along with all of the people giving them the sympathy vote...Ndlovu doesn’t have this luxury, not only because there are less of them, but also because the majority of their relatives are clearly still in South Africa, where they can’t vote for this show...This is why Ndlovu ended up in the Judges’ Choice TWICE, whereas DYC keeps getting easy passes in each round...
I’d like to think that LBK will get enough of that variety vote (that ESPECIALLY seems common in the Finals) to end up in the Top 3 like all acts of their nature tend to land...But they haven’t been as popular as the original Light Balance, and they might not have begged for nearly as many sympathy votes as say, Tyler or VoS...Chances are, the variety votes might end up concentrated on V.Unbeatable...
Which brings us to our main candidates for the Grand Prize: V.Unbeatable and Kodi Lee...It seems practically guaranteed that they will both be in the Top 3...I say Top 3, because there is a side of me that predicts that there may be an act coming between them for the Runner-Up spot! Whenever there are these two acts, one of them a cool variety act and the other some singer that’s been held up on a pedestal throughout the game, and they are BOTH being considered as candidates for the win...it’s usually not the both of them in the Top 2...Usually one of them gets a shock elimination in Third (and more often than not, it’s the cool variety act), and some dark-horse might end up as the Runner-Up...Who that might be is hard to call, but I’m actually considering Benicio being that act standing side-by-side next to Kodi at the end, because again, the Benicio Bros are ever dedicated, to the same degree that Angelica Hale’s fanbase was...
So I’m gonna go ahead and do what Frank usually does by predicting what I think the final rank will be...I’ll keep it pessimistic just to avoid being let down TOO much tomorrow...
10: Ndlovu Youth Choir
9: Emanne Beasha
8: Ryan Niemiller
7: Voices of Service
6: Light Balance Kids
5: Tyler Butler-Figueroa
4: Detroit Youth Choir
3: V.Unbeatable
2: Benicio Bryant
1: Kodi Lee
As for which guest performers will perform with who, I already made my guesses for Tyler and DYC, but I hear that Chris Jericho will perform with Ryan, and I’m willing to bet that Cher will be Kodi’s partner...I'll leave everyone else to surprise me, as opposed to what the final results will be...
(Sigh) Now let’s get this season over with...

This is it. This is the moment he decides you’re a complete nut job and sends you away.
“Ok, so my grandma used to tell us all the time when we were little that there are certain people whose souls know each other.  She used to say that those people can be soulmates, or have soulbonds, which are just people that you somehow knew in a past life like siblings, spouses, lovers, even friends or best friends from before. Thank God for Josh Dun by fuckmydun (1/1 | 1,375 | Not Rated)
You and Josh have been dating for a year now, and for your anniversary, Josh decided to go big and treat you to an expensive dinner with red wine and a certain someone in a black suit and tie. It goes horribly, but you make-up with a kiss and a small “You owe me”.
You wake up in the very early morning, unable to sleep and Josh treats you to something even better without even trying. Lots of kisses, prominent cuddling, gaming and Red Bull sipping (probably).

'Reader’ (You/your/yours[?]) has a panic attack at a Twenty | One | Pilots concert in the back of the pit and Tyler Joseph helps regulate your breathing (after he takes you backstage) and something about that seems sweet to you, that he would hold off an entire concert for YOU and your “irrelevant” problems, as you tell yourself. You have no idea why, but he makes you feel less insignificant, less lonely, less distant… and little do you know, Tyler smiles because of you after weeks of frowning, constant indifference/unresponsiveness on the outside and crippling depression on the inside.

All Our Friends Want Us To Fall In Love by bloodfest (1/1 | 2,855 | Mature)
You’ve known Josh for around 7 years, which is definitely longer than Tyler has. You were Josh’s first boyfriend way back when, but for some reason he changed when he met Tyler. A few years later, Tyler and Josh dated and kept it a secret from Jenna. They lasted maybe a year or two, but eventually fell apart. They’ve been a little awkward around each other, but they’re mostly okay friends now. You find yourself falling into Josh’s eyes again, and one night he send you a text saying he’s lonely and wants some company. But that’s not the only thing he wants…

YEAR OF WHAT HAPPENS ON EARTH STAYS ON EARTH
[longer version of what I contributed to the new yorker’s year-end package. you can read that here, and listen to the accompanying megamix the video team made! links to previous year’s lists at bottom.] I did not grow up going to church, and I am not a particularly religious person. A few days after the inauguration, I wandered into a nearby church and took a seat in the back pews. I’d gone there right after the election. There was some time for anyone with anything on their mind to stand up and speak. If you need others to pray for you, just let us know. A middle-aged black man in a leather jacket got up and began telling us about an argument he was having with a friend on Facebook. It was about the election, but it was actually about the intractability of racism. He was getting frustrated while describing it to us, in part because he seemed to value being the cool and level-headed one. Plus he was describing the kind of argument millions of people were having on the Internet. “I just hope he finds peace,” the guy said. He paused, then put his hands on his chest. “On a lighter note, today would have been Jimi Hendrix’s seventy-fourth birthday.” He opened up his leather jacket to show everyone his Hendrix t-shirt. “I just wanted to say that, because he was just awesome.” So I returned here, the day after marching through Manhattan with a poster that said “HOLD ON, BE STRONG.” I needed to be in a room that was powered by something other than hate--to be reminded of vision and purpose, even if they weren’t mine to claim. To listen to wisdom gleaned from a book I’ve never read, and pick and choose what I wanted. To hear others pour themselves into songs I never, ever sing along to. I wanted to steal their vibes.  Instead of a hymn, they passed out small pieces of paper with the lyrics of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” This is not the type of church people come to for the music. The pianist started playing, and I remember thinking about how it felt like magic when I learned how to play those chords as a kid. I couldn’t believe we were doing this. We sang, tentatively at first, as though we could not believe these words in this space. Picture it: singing of “no heaven” and “no religion, too,” with humility and hope, inside a house of worship. It was like an admission that faith was inadequate. All we had was one another. “Imagine” is a song I’ve heard millions of times, the type of song that is so ubiquitous that we rarely bother scrutinizing its words, its vantage point, the possibility that someone wrote these words because he actually believed them. I sang along with a room of strangers, and we looked at one another, and, for the first time in months, I began to cry.   TWO LYRICS THAT REMINDED ME OF POLITICS EVEN IF THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS "Wrote this shit January 21″ “Take me back to November / Take me back to November” “I’M AN ANGRY TEENAGER” Novelist, “Street Politician” ONCE THEY START, I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE END Jim O’Rourke’s recently unearthed cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” Kanye’s sitcom-length remix of “Bed” THURSDAY NIGHTS ON NBC Ross from Friends’ very Madchester guitar-y Boiler Room set DJ Seinfeld, Time Spent Away from U Nino Man, Jadakiss and Styles P, “Friends”

The Emo School (Chapter 1)
Previous Next
Chapter 1: An Emo Box of Misery with Pastel Pink Ecstasy
I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird.
-Paul McCartney
09/12/01
Finishing up my plate, well, I couldn’t lie about a few scraps of mixed vegetables on it, the boys decided it’ll be fun to move out of the uncomfortable chairs. I couldn’t escape or not recoil from Ryan’s glares. I know what’s up with him, and the dirty look he’s giving is giving me the creeps. He makes me shiver down my spine and I swear one glare from this long legged man makes me want to stop everything I do- heck, if he was some soldier I’d be doing push-ups right now. (oh hallelujah he isn’t)
“Geez, I just couldn’t finish eating carrots right now Ryro. Is that so big of a problem?” He scoffed before lending me his hoodie. As weird as it sounds I need his dang cologne, it smells pretty darn good, but as much as possible I wouldn’t smell the hoodie in front of him and would rather wear it since it’s d*mn cold for me recently. He seemed to crunch the paper bag once he stared at the floor, as if some cockroach crawled nearby under the shade of the table.
Wait, is there?
“…Ryan, is there-”
“Yes, you spilt my milk in my f*cking man purse B-den”
Oh crap
“Congratulations”
He gave me the Tyrone tone of voice. The same blank yet forcefully enthusiastic voice you hear from the man that often wears a business outfit and a tie.
Where’s the escape Trainer button when you need it?
His face… I couldn’t see it under his brushed locks of hair. I’m not sure whether to look or not to look, either way it’ll probably just result to a really bad, salty ending. Sounds like something you see on Walmart eh? Bittersweet I guess? I am not so sure.
Oh F- the bell rang. It’s really torturous to hear it every single day of the week, especially the inescapable Mondays we have here at school, technically, everybody’s school.
Dallon grabbed his bag and left quickly, even faster than Spencer was when he ran over a advert pole drunk, remind to tell you that story sometime, just not today. Dallon’s a pretty straight guy, he’s like this dad who would be so overprotective of his children- or his students in the real world perspective, but when you think of the other side of that trait, he’s making fucking Dad jokes that my own Dad wouldn’t say. My Dad probably has a better sense of humor than Dallon- Dadlon, whatever.
And honestly speaking, he’s probably trying to avoid making any conversation with us, since we’re kind of talking sweet sweet cocaine.
Ahh yes, I’m about to walk back to the same tracks juniors walk to. I’ll probably receive about ten hearty smiles on my way there. Bet you ten bucks.
Alright, I finally forced my feet to walk and leave the table. Reaching for the end of the cafeteria…
Mrs Jackson smiled. One- wait, that doesn’t count as a junior? She looks nasty tho? Fine, stop judging my poor taste alright?
Passing by Ms Fletcher- okay, one. Her small smile is cleary not that visible. She’s the same child writing poems and speech-y crap for the principal to get quote on quote “extra credit” when in reality she’s serving weeks of detention, constant, but hey, she plays the best d*mn pranks in this school, okay, maybe third bestest.
I still played the “Place-posters-with-Pete’s-phone-number-with-the-tag-’call single males now!’” Prank
Walking around Spencer… Taking a glanc- two.
Oh, I forgot…. Whatever, Spencer looks like a kindergarten anyways so either way no points for me.
Spencer waltzed back to 9AM1 aww.
With how much students doesn’t rush to class after the bell rings, it wouldn’t let me reach that sweet sweet bar of full-on-smiles. Fine, future students, I owe you all ten bucks… only if you’re admit to our holy sacred school though.
Ha! I sound like Principal Wentz.
Profit-oriented mindset over one hundred babe.
I just entered the horrifying classroom of 8AM3. Welcome back to the real world my friends. As soon as I pretty much had my presence in the room students came to class. I heard a lot of talk ‘bout me being the coolest, chillest, most laid-back teacher here in the Junior buildings so I guess I have no competition or complaints.
I can already see the small group of students which I have known to be quite shy. They have my music class after Patrick’s theory crap that I don’t really pay that much attention to.
Mr Flowers just nodded along the conversation he’s having while Mr Bowie kept talking about this junior that idolizes him despite walking down outside the halls of my class. They sure have forgotten that I’m not closing the Godd*mn door before the class have their attendance.
My habitual scoff just came by so casually that students think of it as some form of comic relief. I don’t really know how to explain to these lil demons that it’s an attitude problem.
To think that Patrick’s just on my class, 8AM3, right now, teaching them how Do and Re sounds good together makes me feel better on how I’m actually giving the world- 9AM1 rather, a favor for consuming their time studying with my existence. That’s a joke, Patrick’s probably having fun right now.
Well, it looks like it’s about time.
I looked out the window in the similar fashion the students did as well.
Tick tock tick tock.
“What time is it?” Oh god, that voice crack though. I can hear the punks in this class snickering at it.
“Just struck nine” There goes my sunshine haired buddy cham pal.
“Is the cat at home?”
“He’s about to dine”
It’s Josh, this happened yesterday as well, and the day before. He’s teaching that “cat and mouse” game with the students; this time it’s 8AM2, not 8AM1.
Did I already explained to you why I call classes by numbers?
Well, because the real names sucks. No kidding, it’s so overused.
Who would name their classroom “Grade Eight Morning Glory?”, seriously? I want my class to be “Grade Eight Mary Jane”
Has that kind of ring to it, amiright?
Up until now I wonder why on earth Patrick and Frank likes their class names. I mean- those names are decades old. “Grade Ten Patience” seems plain, don’t tell Frank that.
“Sir do we have an assessment today?” Molly asked from the back with her hand stretched higher than Tyler’s current mood. I nodded as they all groaned. Laughing out of- well, sadism I guess? I had the projector connected to the PC and had it on freeze.
There the students saw my desktop wallpaper of a class picture me and the 8AM3 informally had, plus Patrick, Dallon and Spencer. Spencer truthfully looked out of place in this picture, it looks like he had a date with Aubrey Hepburn. Meanwhile Dallon stood there like he’s telling everyone his birthday is today- but he doesn’t have to lie that it’s on May 4th and that he just turned seven. Patrick’s just there, signature fedora on and a small peace sign.
Let’s not forget my entire class though. We have Frank Gioia and Eva in the front with Frank’s hands on her waist as her eyeliner-ed eyes shone against the color black. The Fro power and his friend glasses just stood there with awkward check poses that seems to go back somewhere deep and hidden in the past. Melanie and Ashley just stood there with no expression, except for the other student beside them, which is Jon, who’s doing the same peace sign Patrick’s been keeping up. The rest is can be explained stereotypical-ly; the emo, the shy artist, the jock, it’s just a fun variety to look at.
“Is that cous’?” I saw him pointing at the one with a black hoodie from the corner of my eye.
“Yep, that’s definitely your cousin Adam”
“They all look happy as heck”
“Sir can we take this sort of picture later?”
Another batch of noise.
Anyways, before my brain shuts down to “teaching mode” looks like I have to get back to this thinking normally crap later. Honestly the author just got no idea how American schools work so let her skip this part dotdootdoot. (let’s just say rep-emo isn’t an American Author (badum tsk))
●———————–●
Finally; the end of the day. Organizing my stuff after drinking my cold caffeine that was left in the canteen at break, I finally had my temporary freedom I shall redeem before my world domination.
Speaking about possible world domination if either me or Patrick does it we’ll both have things planned out but procrastinate later on.
Blowing my students a playful kiss when the bell rang I waltz to the exit first, even so I can still hear their laughs and joyful cheers.
Then I saw something- rather, someone I wish I could just avoid for the week.
Christian Tyler Joseph
My feet practically swooshed and I’m pretty sure my sole—and also my soul—said “nope, not today”. I swear, I’m an atheist but I prayed at that very moment. You know that tense feeling those cliché video game main character does when he or she feels the villain’s presence or just something freaky in the ceiling happens? If you’re thinking you are imaging those overused gulp noises that’s actually real, very real.
Yeah, feeling it.
“Oy! Brendo-”
“I’ll pay my debt later Troye!” Thank God I cut him off before he diss me in front of the students.
“For the last time Fivehead it’s Tyler!”
I know. Dude, we’ve been working together for years now and yet you seem dense about it, maybe that’s just because I always act stupid, don’t let that fool you, I am stupid.
Honestly, that poor guy is so easy to tease. If it wasn’t for my distracting use of ’T’-names I would have had a small—small as Tyler could get—fight. I heard a huff from behind my back that obviously came from Tyler himself, yes, I’m stubborn.
●———————–●
A sigh sadly escaped my lips as I flipped to peak into my students’ Assessment grades.
From Ashbridge to Zoroa; all were sorts of disappointment. Even those who got perfect seems fake to me. If Ryan didn’t left me to go somewhere with Spencer he would have said the grades are as fake as diamonds that looks like broken glass.
I’m so unhappy right now. Never thought I’d use that word.
That all changed when I heard the door slid and also a student did the same but in a more humane manner.
          Enter Ashley the student.
She’s that special student who’s quite popular, inside and outside school grounds. She’s literally a celebrity. She seems to get away each time she dyes her hair unlike another student of mine that goes by the name “crybaby”.
Guess who’s her advisor?
Yeah, that’s obviously me, anyone who said “Dallon” deserves a spank… or a slap, that’s just kinky.
“Hey there Mister Urie”
“Hello to you too Ashley, what’s up?”
Unlike other schools, we’re all practically informal here; teachers and students are pretty much close buds that we don’t even have some guidance counselor, I don’t know if that is a flaw or not… I guess Meagan is a counselor, but that’s just Pete’s wife. Going back to Ashley she’s the only girl in my class—well aside from Melanie—that calls me Mister Urie all the time, but that’s probably due to respect, which is quite neat unlike some students.
“I have milk and cookies here, Melanie wanted to give this out and um… She also asked me to give you this note…”
Yeah, that’s Melanie, no one exactly trusts her, except for Tyler and Hal- I mean Ashley I guess.
“Cool, just place it one of the chairs thanks”
She nodded- before I rudely interrupted when the thought rushed back deep inside my skull.
“Wait, what’s written?”
“Umm… It says; Do you like my cookies? They’re made just for you, a little bit of sugar and… lots of poison too” She seems to hesitate on reading it and I have no doubts on why she is.
Honestly, this is one of those times I wish I could pacify her.
I couldn’t blame her actions, she’s been through a lot- like, a whole looot, as edgy as the book written by Pete when he was young (we fortunately got to read it in his office, don’t tell anyone) she has been kidnapped, rough family, drugged and other things I wouldn’t go deeper.
She’s pretty odd, but really a pretty nice person at the same time. It’s like the half dyes of her hair. She, Frank, Eva, Jon, Mikey, Ray and Richie would talk to me all day and I feel comfortable with them.
I honestly like crazy people like her. She doesn’t mind me doing crappy things and she empathize with me, it’s nice to have someone like that ya know?
Hallelujah, I have such great students and yet I’m a sh*tty teacher. I wonder what type of cookies are in there-
F*ck, that pink pastel box looks creepy as Teletub-
I need some breather.
“Hey Ashley can you pass me the coc-”
Oh wait f*ck
She doesn’t know that yet
Oh god that sounds wrong. No I’m not gay shut up… What are you talking about me and Ryan are just friends. No, not even Dallon, shut up. Denial what the- okay I’m done talking to y'all, I’ll tell you about my past with Ryan later, m'kay? Yes I’ll talk about Dallon later too but now you f*cks are just distracting me.
Anyways, she doesn’t know I do cocaine.
“Uhh… what?”
Sh*t, you guys make me sound so bad. Thinking about it, I am the only one to blame if she did knew.
Think Brendon! Think!
WHY AM I IMAGINING SCENES FROM HANGOVER RIGHT NOW?! IT’S STILL 2001.
“Pass me the…. baby powder from the back of the second row shelf thanks”
“Okay… what does it look like there’s a bunch of jars here Mister Urie!” Yelling a bit for me to hear, I felt a drop of sweat coming from my distracting forehead.
“Uhh…. It’s in one of those straight shoote- I mean flower designs in it”
She raised a small glass tube with some flower designs in it. She raised her eyebrow a bit like it’s already questioning me.
I mean, why would someone smoldering with appeal like me would buy flowers? I had enough with people questioning my sexuality so I’m not having that again.
“This one?” She held the love roses tube and shook it. I hope she didn’t suspect me for anything if so then I hope that I ain’t kissing Pete’s *ss for this. Thank past me for buying filtered one and not the transparent, but that’s too early for me to say so.
“Yeah, bring it here. Thanks” She threw it to me and I caught it, fortunately.
“Why would you have it in a flower case?”
Haha…
“I have no containers left, is all”
She nodded once more “I’m pretty sure Principal Wentz would allow ya to use one of the containers in the science room, I mean you’re close to Mister Iero as well right?”
Haha… riiight. I’m pretty sure Mister Wentz or Iero wouldn’t
“Yeah, thanks for the idea and the cookies, tell Melanie the same”
“Yeah, you’re welcome Mister Urie”
●———————–●
“BRENDON!”
That’s Dallon, once more in all his glory. He never seems to stay calm after his week of teaching in this school. His hair looks like his wife quiffed it- whatever people call that hairstyle, maybe I should say hair mess.
“What?” As you can tell, I’m tired as well so long and goodnight Dal, I need some shut eye. This is the same man who almost fell asleep while teaching the opium war, quite surprising that he can be this tense.
“YOU CAN’T DO DRUGS IF THEY CAUGHT YOU YOU’RE IN BIG TROUBLE-”
“SHH!”
Yeah! I would be if you continued yelling.
“Shut up Dallon” I closed the door behind me only to here Dallon handling the doorknob back open.
“Brendon, it’s not healthy”
What is he gonna say? Cardiac arrest? Lung problems? Yeah, I know the side effect don’t worry about it, stimulation has always been a part of me even though I try so hard to deny it. I try to stop each time though so I don’t have to hear this right now.
(Author just searched the side effects of cocaine so this may not be exact, author is not a doctor, author’s life sucks)
“Uhuh”
“No I’m serious! My friend used to do drugs as well and he-”
Oh no. I’m having this talk again am I?
Rolling my eyes back to a distant land called “Nopeland”. I could only hear incoherent sounds of a failed attempt to get me to change my decisions in life. I only found the polychromatic color that matches the walls once more when my eyes landed back to my table.
Smirk.
Grab.
Flick.
“W-cou-hat the h-heck Brendon that’s childish eew is that baby powder or powdered milk? Disgusting”
Nah, that’s coke, have fun cleaning your uniform for tomorrow morning kiddo.
And then- with just one swish and flick- I magically landed back to happy land. Maybe it’s the side effect of cocaine, may or may not be but whatever, I’d like to think that it is for the moment. It’s nice to see someone’s first encounter with coke, if I were to be Van Gogh I’d be painting this view of Dadlon trying to remove the white stains from his crotch right now.
Looks like I have something to write on my Journal huh?
Let’s be real though dear hopefully-future-students; my dairy is a lot more cooler than the Diary Of A Wimpy kid? No? Yeah you’re right, my life sucks. If this were a subject you all would have had all my assessments perfect even on your first day.
I don’t know whether you should take that as a compliment or that states you’re slowly becoming trash- well no, technically all you little eyes are my treasure so don’t go living in the dumps.
“Brendon please help me remove this stuff”
“No thanks”
“Beeeebooo”
“Not this again Dallon”
This is some sick technique in which Dallon uses the nickname “Beebo” to get me to do something. No, I’m not telling you “why Beebo?”.
Fine.
It all started when me and Patrick were teaching the seniors for a bit since Andy couldn’t come due to a winter storm at his place. We were at Patrick’s small enthusiastic explanation about a simple concept when someone boldly called me “Beebo” and it just stucked.
Groaning in the same manner the students of 9AM1 from earlier, I grabbed my handerchief and started rubbing the surface of his sweater that he probably bought last week.
“I hate you”
“Love you too Beebs, now continue helping me will you?”
Geez, I do have a lot to write down today.
Oh crap, he didn’t bought this last week; it says “Grade 10 Hibiscus” so it’s most probably hand made for him from his last advisory class. He got this last Christmas. Crap, I ruined his greatest gift. I am so sorry Dallon. Best not to tell this and the Ashley incident to anyone.
●———————–●
My eyes wondered about when I saw the box Ashley left in the corner.
That pink box…
I swear, I don’t have any idea on what to do with these cookies, they actually smell and look delicious. I guess I’ll never know huh?
“Hey Mister Urie is Richie’s detention over? He asked me to go shopping in Hot Topic today that’s why I’m asking” The next person to ever slide in after class today is Frank Gioia. The emotional kid who doesn’t seem to mind what everyone thinks, he’s a cool dude I swear.
“Oh, he’d be up by no-”
About the box….
As bright as the ideas Gerard drew in his sketchpad (which is full of strange looking people by the way, especially that all white violin girl), my eyes fluttered at the sudden thought that occured.
“Hey Frank?”
“Yeah?” He tilted his head to peak in a bit more. He doesn’t seem to be fazed at the fact I avoided answering his question.
“Want some cookies?”
Silence.
He stared at me for a bit, then back to the box I was supposedly reaching out for him to taste. His eyebrow raised at the sight of it.
“Isn’t that Melanie’s?”
Oh, he knew, that was some fail.
Lie or not to lie?
Nah, lying is pretty much fun if you’re a girl.
“Yeah, Melanie gave it to me earlier”
“Yeah saw it too”
Then another batch of awkward silence followed as we stared at each other, eyes locked with such confusion present on both sides.
“Sure… I’ll take one”
He came closer and took a bite of the chocolate chipped cookies from the forsaken box. He seems delighted somehow.
Well.
Looks like I have a new box to place my ecstasy.
●———————–●
I bumped into Ryan earlier.
He gave me this blank look before leaving me in the halls. He seemed to be carrying another paper bag; two packs of cheese whiz I presume. He didn’t seem to mind me whenever I snoop into his bags, although this time was an exception.
       ⏭️The theater in Brendon’s mind⏮️
Ryan: *looking at his paper bag*
Fab Brendon: What’s that *about to reach into the bag*
Ryan: *Slaps hand*
Ryan: Y o u  a r e  n o t  m y  f r i e n d
Exit Ryan.
⏯️
Trust me, give him a few more days and the two of us we’ll be okay, he wouldn’t exchange our friendship over cheese whiz….
I wonder if he thinks the same about me and Frank Sinatra, if so tell him I’d choose the latter.
●———————–●
On my way home I saw Ray and Mikey talking about Gerard and his small sketchpad they saw behind the bush in which he probably left it.
“How did it end up there in the first place?” They looked as confused as I am, Ray just raised his lips a bit higher to look like he’s pensive for an answer.
“He’s Mister Way after all, he can get like this, right Moikey?”
“Mikey Ray, It’s Mikey. Yes, he does act as irresponsible at times”
Sometimes I wonder if that face shows sadness, disappointment, anger or just plain nothing. It’s a pokerface no one could ever break, not even that time Joe played around with Frank’s chemistry set, I mean, mixing Mountain Dew and chunks of Doritos was funny and all, and Gerard’s reporting skills on that scene made the class laugh even more.
I sure do love this school’s innocent scenes.
Wait I’m going too far, back to Mikey.
“Anyways, do you know where your brother is at the moment?”
He shook his head in reply but Ray nodded it with excitement.
“Yeah he said he’s going to binge watch Star Wars in the cinema”
Mikey’s face dropped a bit before going back to normal. That action probably meant sadness… right?
“He forgot to drive me back home, whatever I’ll just walk”
“I’ll come with you don’t worry, we’re practically neighbors”
“no we’re not”
“shush”
I know that I laughed at that small conversation but I still feel the small strange vibe Mikey’s been radiating, unlike Gerard he would have punched me in the face if he was at the scene and tell me to “stay the *beep* away from my sketchpad!”
Was that beep necessary?
“Do you want me to call Gerard?”
“No, it’s okay Mister Urie”
I shrugged as he denied my random act of kindness, ouch.
“Whatever kiddos, get home safely okay?” “Yes Mister Urie” “Oh, and bring your brother’s sketchpad, he doesn’t want it in my hands”
Mikey raised an eyebrow “Don’t you wanna see what’s inside?”
I mean, it could be anything edge-shock-y so I wouldn’t dare open it.
“N-nah, rather not”
Mikey just nodded and fetched for the sketchpad in my hands.
Then I walked back home, just like they did.
God, I’m stopping drugs. Things like this are more stimulating…. and stressful

*Halloween* Origin Story. (Tyler Joseph x Reader)
Request: my best friend: ‘Tyler.’
Prompt 21: Spiders
Note: Firstly, Happy Halloween to all and Happy Birthday to the man who has taken over my life, Frank Iero. Secondly, this is the last bit of writing I will be posting before I leave, so I hope you guys enjoy. x
“You left me here to die!”
The loudness and extreme betrayal in your voice caught Tyler off guard, and he stumbled back a little bit as he walked through the front door of your, his and Josh’s shared home, a taken aback look on his face.
“I just went to the grocery store!” he defended, holding up the packet of snacks he was carrying as proof.
“You left me alone with a spider in the shower!”
Your roommate stifled a chuckle as he walked towards the kitchen to unpack the groceries, you stomping along behind him and glowering at his taller frame.
“It was literally the size of a pinhead,” he mocked, grabbing a few pieces of candy from the packet he had bought and popping them into his mouth.
“It doesn’t matter!” you waved your arms around, a shudder coursing through you at the mere thought of being in the shower, completely defenceless, with an arachnid. “You were in there before me, you saw the damn thing, and the least you could’ve done is taken it out!” You did a little fake cry and stomped around, another shudder wracking your body.
Tyler was clearly amused, and he made no attempt to hide it as he continued eating the candy.
“It’s not funny!” you picked up a piece of candy and threw it at him, but he opened his mouth and caught it, sticking his tongue out in scorn. “TYLER!”
“Alright, alright, calm down. Jeez Louise,” he made wide-eyes and set the candy down before walking around to you. “I’m sorry, okay?”
“You better be,” you scoffed, trying your hardest to look angry as you folded your arms and scowled at him.
“I am.”
“Good.”
“Want some candy?” he offered, picking up the bag and holding it out to you.
“I don’t want anything from you,” you narrowed your eyes, turning away.
“Okay, fine,” he muttered, moving to grab a soda.
You watched him get the can and open it, take a sip and continue eating. A minute later, you cleared your throat and spoke again.
“So are you gonna go and get it?”
He looked up and smirked at you. “I thought you didn’t want anything from me?” he cocked his head to the side.
“TYLER!”
He laughed heartily and held his hands up in defence. “Okay, okay, I’m going.”
~
After a long day, your soft bed was calling out for you, and you sighed in relief as you entered your room and kicked off your high heels.
A long, hot shower worked wonders for your drained body, and not long after, you were in your pyjamas and about to climb into bed.
You pulled back the covers and lucky for you, you looked down, because there was a gigantic spider right in the middle of the bed.
Shrieking, you sprinted out the room and straight into Josh’s, making him jump up in alarm.
“(Y/N)! What’s wrong?”
“Spider…” you stammered, managing to point a shaky finger in the direction of your room.
Josh relaxed. “It’s okay, I’ll go take care of it. Just… go to Tyler in the mean time.”
You slowly made your way into Tyler’s room, tentatively pushing open the door and walking over to his bed, where he was lying under the covers.
Slowly, you lifted the covers and slid in next to him, causing him to turn around to face you, instinctively pulling you closer.
“What's wrong, angel?” he murmured, his voice providing instant comfort to you.
“There’s a huge spider in my bed,” you whimpered, shuffling into his chest.
“Oh,” he nodded in understanding, “Josh gone to sort it out?”
You nodded.
“Okay, good. Just relax, I’ve got you.”
~
“Obviously I knew how deathly afraid of spiders she was, but I saw my opportunity and took it. So the day after the ‘spider in the shower’ incident, while she was at work, I went down to the store and got a couple of fake spiders from the Halloween display, and when I got home, I put the biggest one in her bed. Now, I know that it was a horrible thing to do, but I still did it anyway. Why? Well, because I knew she would freak out and run and ask us for help. Josh’s room was the closest to hers, and I knew that she would go to him first, so I let him in on my plan. Then, after Josh left to ‘take care of it’, she would come into my room and lie down while waiting for Josh to finish, and eventually, she would fall asleep. In my arms. I’m sure you can see my motivation, now. Anyway, I did this everyday for the next week or so, and after a while, she was spending so much time in my room, she stayed. And the rest is history.”
“Wow,” Pete chuckled, “that is the weirdest, harshest relationship origin story I have ever heard. And that’s coming from me!”
“Yeah, I stopped speaking to him for a week after he told me,” you scoffed, shooting a glare at Tyler, who smiled an innocent smile.
“Hey, it worked, didn’t it?” Tyler asked, making everyone mutter in agreement.
Patrick raised a glass. “That it did. To Mr and Mrs Joseph!”

I already know that a long time ago I had posted a durdeless between Desireless and the front-man of the Twenty One Pilots band, that is Mr. Tyler Joseph who among other things turns 30 today! Many wishes on my part to Tyler, since today I want to give him a gift, with this "new" durdeless with a little something different. I have already said of course what this durdeless expresses for me and I wrote it in the first version. Apart from that, I'll explain to you what Tyler and his incredible band express to me. I think that Tyler is very, very good at writing songs for the band (Twenty One Pilots), also because I see that in songs like Stressed Out or as Car Radio or Smithereens or Chlorine etc. the lyrics are very vague, in the sense that they are intense and written with true and pure attention, and that is why they are beautiful and that I adore them just as much as I love Tyler. For the band instead I think it has been very successful over time, but also at the beginning anyway. Just as Desireless also got to be successful, but thanks to the song writer Jean-Michel Rivat (I also admire a lot for the style in which he wrote songs, including my beloved Voyage voyage!). Okay Tyler, I wish you a happy birthday again 21 times! #mister #tylerjoseph #desireless #voyagevoyage #durdeless #love #dream #souls #navity #happybirthday #clique #twentyonepilots #joshdun #stressedout #chlorine #smithereens #carradio #blurryface #trench #jeanmichelrivat #songwriter #best #band #30thbirthday #redurdeless https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq2QjfBFGEZ/?igshid=1pztm586q2r4v

Do you have any pieces that aren't necessarily fan fiction that you'd be willing to share? - Peachy
This was for a writing contest in 2016, and it is also the closest thing I have to a non-fanfiction piece that’s fully completed. The task was to write a small piece inspired by a song.I took first place.
Friday:
Tyler warily approached the podium at the front of his English class. His professor seemed to be disappointed already by his appearance; skinny jeans and a T-shirt. Of all the days Tyler has forgotten formal wear, it had to be the day the founder of the college was visiting, and as Tyler connected eyes with the pudgy business man he felt his knees wobble. He tried to mask his nervousness by fiddling with the microphone, but his professor saw through his phony facade.
“Jethro, this is Mr. Tyler Joseph,” His professor boomed through the crowded room. “He has prepared a special piece in anticipation of your arrival.” His professor’s cold eyes returned to where Tyler stood at the front of the hall. “Whenever you’re ready, Joseph.”
Tyler could feel his heart thumping loudly in his chest, beating in rapid unison with his breath. He swallowed hard. “My n-name is Tyler Joseph,” He paused to take a deep breath. “And I chose to write about my past and h-how it has motivated me to-to do better. T-to improve myself.”
His eyes fluttered down to his paper and he took one more shaky breath before beginning; “Trees,
“During my youth I struggled to find myself, my passions, and my mind. It was an uphill battle that only became more difficult when I broke away from my pre-made future.
"It began deep inside, rather than at the surface. Writing became a way to express my confusion and my self-doubt, and when I began playing piano everything seemed to fall into place. I gathered a few friends and we began a leisure group - if you will. We practiced covering existing songs, and soon after we began playing songs of our own. We landed a few gigs, some successful, some not so successful. But, we stuck it out and continued improving, until we reached what I thought was our breaking point. My band mates left me, and I discovered a boy.
"This boy later became my drummer and my best friend. This boy goes by the name, Joshua Dun; drummer of Twenty Øne Pilots. We clicked immediately, and after graduation we became inseparable due to our intense passions for music. And despite the self-doubt and slow climb to recognition, Josh and I found solace in creating.”
Tyler broke from his speech to look out among the audience. He searched for a familiar face, a face that could calm and encourage him. He took a deep, shaky breath and continued to scan faces, his heart dropping only momentarily before he caught sight of a supportive Brendon. His hair stuck up in several directions and he groggily gave Tyler a thumbs up.
Okay, Tyler thought, Okay.
“From our garage band in Ohio, we moved to stages across the United States. Canada, and Europe. Our voices took the world by storm and we saved lives, and created memories while doing so. Through concerts, award shows, tweets, and much more, we brought people together; we created a family. It’s crazy to think that our voices reached so far, but it quickly became reality.”
He broke from his speech again, this time to blink the surfacing tears from his eyes. He looked over the blank expressions of his fellow classmates and the disappointed eyes of his professor. In that moment Tyler felt himself falling into an anxiety attack, so he looked to Brendon again. His friend had sensed his panic and was raising his hands and lowering them slowly, signaling for Tyler to breathe.
Tyler cleared his throat. “Another reality that hit us was one that we were least expecting. One evening in our hometown, I looked at Josh and I knew. I knew that someday our voices would come to an end and the world would move on to other ones. Of course, I didn’t vocalize this thought because I decided it was best to keep to myself.
"Now, here I am four years later, reading an essay to a hall of English majors in a university; another place I never saw myself standing. Unfortunately, that means that the world has stopped hearing our voices, so we’ve stopped trying to be heard. It is a rough reality that came collapsing upon me, much too quickly for me to stop it. So now when I visit Josh’s family, we no longer discuss our success or our "fifteen seconds”, but instead we discuss the future. By doing so I have realized things; things I wouldn’t have thought about on a tour bus in Germany while eating tacos with Josh. I realized that you don’t need a microphone in your hand or a camera on your face to be heard, you just have to speak to the right people.
“I wish so badly that Joshua could be up here, at this podium with me so he could share his side of learning and growing, but his life has taken him down other paths; I still visit him often and tell stories and laugh. I’ll probably tell him about this speech too.
"There was, however, one place that I’ve refused to go without Josh. We built a tree house as teenagers, and we explored the forest, speaking to the silence in the trees, and I never found it quite fitting to go alone. Maybe we’ll meet up again sometime and visit the old tree house, because to me it wasn’t just a tree house. It was an escape; a second chance to get a hold of my life and put it to good use. It was in that tree house that Josh and I decided to produce our own albums, where I decided to share my message, where we agreed to never stray - no matter how far away life took us. Together we vowed to be strong and to help others be strong.
"But back to what this had to do with self-improvement; promises. Through our music I promised myself that I would keep fighting the good fight, that "you” too can stay alive, that “ending it” isn’t worth it because this pain is temporary. So if I had to wrap this up with a single thought, I would say: Never stop creating.“
***
Sunday:
Tyler walked alongside Brendon, sipping his coffee slowly as they made their way across town. They had just left Josh’s childhood home after saying a quick ‘hello’ to his mother. The boys had left Mrs. Dun’s house in good spirits after briefly sharing current situations and discussing their plans after graduation, but now they merely walked in silence, Brendon kicking a rock every-so-often and Tyler crunching leaves.
The silence was deafening and it had been driving Brendon absolutely mad. "Hey did you grab a Red Bull?”
Tyler nodded, tapping on the can in the side-pouch of his backpack. “Yeah.”
“That’s cool. He’ll appreciate that.”
Tyler nodded again.
“How long has it been since you’ve spoken to him?” Brendon asked awkwardly, scratching at the back of his head.
“Too long,” Tyler answered. “I hope he’ll be happy to see us.”
Brendon cleared his throat nervously. “Oh. I thought-,” He looked at Tyler, who stared back with furrowed brows and confused eyes. “You know what, never mind. I’d be glad to see Josh again.” He draped an arm loosely over Tyler’s shoulders with a smug grin. “Look at us,” He sighed. “The trio is getting back together.”
Tyler smiled, nudging Brendon playfully in the ribs. “Get your own friend.”
“Really?” Brendon mused. “Because I think Sarah wanted to go out or something-you know, I’ll come back later.”
Tyler feigned hurt as Brendon spun 360 degrees and laughed loudly into the thin fall air. “I hope you wouldn’t leave us,” Tyler joked. “I’m buying Taco Bell later.”
Brendon gasped suddenly, falling dramatically into Tyler’s side and causing the smaller boy to stumble. “Food,” Brendon whined. “I’m starved.”
Tyler raised his wrist to his mouth, speaking in a deep voice to his watch, “This boy needs a taco, STAT!” He looked down into Brendon’s dramatically closing eyes. “Hang in there Brendon.”
“I-,” Brendon coughed. “I’ll never let go Tyler.”
Tyler snorted, surprising them both, and in his rush to cover his mouth, Brendon slipped from his grasp and tumbled into a pile of leaves and sticks with an ‘oof’.
A chuckling Tyler bent to help his also snickering friend, but a sharp “Hey” caused him to stiffen his back and stand upright. The boys nervously turned to see a chipper redhead carrying a cup of coffee.“You two going to see Josh?” She asked.
“We were,” Brendon interjected. “Until Tyler tried to kill me.”
“Yeah,” Tyler chuckled. “We were planning on going for food, too. Did you want to walk with us?”
“I actually can’t,” She frowned. “But can you give these to him for me?” Debby reached into her purse and produced a pair of new red drumsticks. “I kept meaning to get them to him before his birthday, but work has me so busy. Can you, maybe tell him I said hi?”
“Of course.” Tyler took the sticks from her and quickly gave Debby a hug before scurrying away, Brendon trudging along behind him.
He and Brendon made good timing, walking the last few blocks at a quicker pace. As the two finally reached the top of a grassy hill Tyler caught sight of him.
“Joshua!” He exclaimed, running to him with the unopened can of Red Bull and the drumsticks in his hands. “I brought you this,” He said through a gasp. “Debby, s-she says hi and she wanted to get you these for your birthday.”
Tyler dropped to his knees to be at eye-level, and he could feel Brendon’s hands being placed gently on his shoulders as Tyler carefully set the can and the drumsticks on the ground in front of the stone; 'Joshua William Dun, Beloved Son’.
“Hey Josh,” Brendon choked out between sobs. He rubbed comforting circles into Tyler’s back as the boy began to sob in his arms. “It’s good to see you again.”
