En este apasionante drama histórico inspirado en hechos reales, el color del Caribe se entremezcla con el crimen y la política, retratando con rigor la vida en República Dominicana durante el régimen del dictador Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, alias ‘El Chivo’, quien gobernó desde 1930 hasta 1961.
Con esos acontecimientos como telón de fondo, la historia se centra en la amistad entre la joven inmigrante española Arantxa Oyamburu y Minerva Mirabal, reconocida activista política que, junto a sus hermanas, recibió el apodo de ‘Las Mariposas’, convirtiéndose en una leyenda latinoamericana al enfrentarse a Trujillo y contribuir al final de su dictadura.

Halloween Movie Marathon!!
Hey y'all !! Grab y'all's snacks, tricks & treats & get a costume if you have one because we're& hosting our& week long movie marathon!! Keep in mind that age ratings may vary and these are not suitable for all audiences, and littles and age regressors are not advised to attend the movies! Remember to be respectful and try not to spoil anything if there are others who haven't seen the movie(s) !! No discourse or drama or anything of the sort, this is a time to have fun and chill, anyone who's unruly, disrespectful or disruptive will be kicked from the stream & if excessively rude & have not changed their ways will be permanently banned from any movie nights of ours& !! Helio: El Taller de Mike is a group exhibition of artists living and working in Mexico City who have employed the use of traditional heliogravure in their practice.
Dating back to the 19th century, heliogravure is a photographic printing process where a copper plate is exposed to a film-positive, then etched, and run through a traditional printing press that leaves an image on paper. As technology and access rapidly increased — particularly the speed of silver-gelatin printing and consistently evolving smartphone technology of the 21st century — heliogravure began to lose popularity, becoming an antiquated and somewhat obsolete process.
However, Heliogravure has seen a resurgence in recent years, and particularly in Mexico City as the workshop of artist and photographer Miguel Counahan has operated as a collaborative space for artists to learn the medium and process, and apply it to their own work.
Helio: El Taller de Mike, is divided into two parts. The first is an exhibition of work by artists selected to visually interpret the soujourn of a Stoic — a narrative journey of the artist Miguel Counahan himself. The second section illustrates the physical process of heliogravure itself through a selection of images, copper plates, positives, and tests done by all the artists who have passed through the studio, El Taller de Mike.

La Confederación Argentina de Atletismo viene realizando un gran esfuerzo a los fines de concretar un tercer GPS y un segundo meeting “E”, durante este año 2023. En este caso con la colaboración de las Federaciones Atléticas de Provincia de Buenos Aires, Federación Marplatense, y Federación Metropolitana respectivamente. El apoyo económico del ENARD y Atletismo Sudamericano y la colaboración en alojamiento de la secretaria de Deportes de la Nación, y diversas empresas privadas. La organización  en el Semana del Mar Ofrecerá  plazas de alojamiento y comida limitadas, por lo que se solicita confirmar participación o baja urgente para asignar lugares en el hotel en orden de mérito. También habrá disponible un bus desde Buenos aires a Mar del plata ida y vuelta (plazas limitadas). La novela del escritor mexicano Iván Eduardo Lópezcampos será producida por 501 Dream Productions   Un anciano que no encuentra razones para vivir, se encuentra con un niño que pese a su edad padece la misma desesperanza. Tal es la anécdota de la que se vale el escritor mexicano Iván Eduardo Lópezcampos para cuestionar el trato que da la sociedad a los adultos mayores, al tiempo que envía un mensaje de esperanza en su novela Lecciones de otoño, que será llevada al cine por 501 Dream Productions en conjunto con Bad House. Alfonso Aldaz Iglesias, personificado por el primer actor Miguel Pizarro, es un viejo que vive en el abandono en un piso de Madrid. No sólo ha perdido la esperanza sino incluso las ganas de tenerla. Cuando su médico le pide que busque razones para vivir le contesta “No busco razones para vivir, sino el cómo morir. ¿Acaso es algo tan complicado mi petición?” Por casualidad su vida cruza con la del pequeño Gerard, interpretado por Mateo Chávez. ¿Qué hace que un niño tenga la misma desesperanza que un anciano? La vida de ambos permite al autor de Lecciones de Otoño señalar el modo en que la sociedad relega, discrimina, excluye a algunos al tiempo que toca al lector: “La vejez no es más que la curvatura que sufre la línea de la vida; al final el peso de los años le vence, une el punto final con el inicial; es por eso que los viejos acaban siendo más niños que adultos. Sienten como ellos, sufren como ellos, tienen la inocencia y la irreverencia de estos; quizá la vida está diseñada así para que el alma que recoja, cuando llegue la hora, sea de nuevo pura”. Como en sus anteriores novelas –Amanecer en la Antigua, Déja vù en París, Los últimos siete días de mi vida, Distopía, Antoine Favre, entre otras– Lópezcampos hace una crítica social al amor apresurado y sin compromiso, la amistad condicionada, la codicia, el poder y los falsos valores que ensalzan el parecer en vez del ser. La adaptación cinematográfica correrá a cargo del mismo autor, mientras la dirección estará en manos de Roger Ellis Frazier, quien ha dirigido a actores como Andy García, Elya Baskin, Scott Adkins, Robert Davi o Luke Goss. En el elenco, estarán también Sandra Benhumea, Andrea Portugal, Guillermo Iván, Luis Gatica, Evangelina Martínez, Evangelina Sosa y Nicole Mayer, entre otros. El rodaje iniciará en junio próximo y las locaciones se realizarán en Ciudad Camargo, Chihuahua capital, Madrid y Toledo. Questa serie di riflessione sull'architettura del Regno di Napoli proseguirà per altri sei mercoledì, Prossimi appuntamenti:

L’architettura del tempo della Corona d’Aragona iniziò a Napoli con la ricostruzione del Castelnuovo voluta da Alfonso il Magnanimo e realizzata soprattutto dall’architetto maiorchino Guillermo Sagrera.
Altri maestri catalani, attivi nello stesso cantiere, diffusero elementi architettonici quali scale, logge, portali e finestre, dalle originali forme e decorazioni tardogotiche, nei centri urbani dell’entroterra della Campania e del basso Lazio, allora unito al Regno di Napoli. Si trattava di un gusto destinato ad essere gradualmente soppiantato da quello rinascimentale toscano che, dall’ultimo quarto del Quattrocento, si affermò a Napoli e, gradualmente, nelle regioni del Regno. La chiesa di S. Caterina a Formello, ispirata all’architettura di Francesco di Giorgio e la cappella Caracciolo di Vico aggregata alla chiesa di S. Giovanni a Carbonara, derivata da un’idea forse bramantesca, sono importanti opere del primo Cinquecento, periodo che, nell’architettura civile fu dominato dall’architetto Giovanni Mormando. Ma fu con Pedro da Toledo (1532-1553) che Napoli ebbe un vero rinnovamento: l’ampliamento dei Quartieri Spagnoli, la via Toledo, il nuovo Palazzo Vicereale, la chiesa e l’ospedale di S. Giacomo degli Spagnoli, il palazzo dei Tribunali e il forte di Sant’Elmo, opera dell’architetto Pier Luigi Scrivà che si occupò anche di altre fortificazioni del meridione d’Italia, sono le opere volute da questo viceré.
Premesse gotiche È solo da accennare che in tutto il Regno, nell’architettura civile, vi furono vaste ricostruzioni nel corso del XIV secolo; e semplici edifici a schiera di quel tempo, con botteghe al piano terra e residenza a quello superiore, mostrano archi acuti nelle aperture di porte e finestre. Nella prima metà del Quattrocento queste aperture subirono una evoluzione: Roberto Pane ha potuto osservare che giunse da Siena a Napoli dapprima l’arco acuto con l’arco ribassato sotteso; e che da questo, nella stessa Napoli, fu elaborato un tipo di portale ad arco ribassato, diffuso anche nelle regioni del Regno già al tempo della dominazione degli Angiò Durazzo.2 Lo schema di questi portali durazzeschi consiste in un arco ribassato costruito su un settore di circonferenza, inquadrato in una cornice rettangolare i cui lati verticali si ripiegano sugli stipiti al di sotto dell’imposta. Primo significativo esempio dell’adozione del tipo è il portale del Palazzo Penne (1406) in Napoli, in una facciata rivestita da un fitto bugnato piatto decorato di simboli araldici e terminata da un coronamento ad archetti pensili trilobati dal forte carattere gotico. Accanto al gusto di questi portali, che ebbe grande diffusione per tutto il Quattrocento —e, talvolta, anche nel Cinquecento— nelle regioni dell’antico regno di Napoli e in alcuni centri del Lazio, vi sono altre correnti artistiche che possono riconoscersi in alcune significative opere architettoniche. Come in Puglia, nella cappella Orsini della chiesa di S. Caterina d’Alessandria a Galatina, del 1460, ma di certo influenzata dalla cappella Caracciolo del Sole annessa alla chiesa di S. Giovanni a Carbonara in Napoli, primo spazio centrale concepito in senso gotico prima del 1432 e aggiornato all’interno verso il 1450; o a Soleto, nella straordinaria torre di Raimondello Orsini, dove il gotico internazionale si unisce a forme decorative locali, con risultati assai particolari. O come in Abruzzo, a Sulmona, dove il portale dell’Ospedale dell’Annnunziata, datato 1415,3 si presenta compostamente ancora trecentesco fino alla lunetta con la statua della Madonna, per assumere un esuberante carattere naturalistico nell’avvolgersi in spire dei cordoni che si prolungano ai lati degli stipiti: il tutto a sostenere una statua di S. Michele inserita in un grande arco acuto impostato sulle colonnine che fiancheggiano i pilastri addossati alla facciata. Sono episodi senza seguito, problematici per la difficoltà di individuare pienamente la cultura artistica dei loro autori, appartenenti ad una fase che potrebbe dirsi di transito verso l’affermarsi del gusto tardogotico durazzesco.
Il cantiere di Castelnuovo Un momento di novità, per l’architettura meridionale, fu certamente determinato dalla ricostruzione del castello angioino di Napoli, perciò chiamato Castelnuovo, ricostruzione voluta da Alfonso il Magnanimo anche per dare un segno tangibile della nuova casa regnante alla capitale e ai suoi territori. In posizione emergente, specie rispetto alla visuale dal mare, il castello faceva parte di un sistema difensivo comprendente anche il Castel dell’Ovo, Belforte e le mura dell’antica città di origine greco-romana. Sono noti gli interessi umanistici del re Alfonso, e forse di questi dovette tener conto anche un architetto di formazione gotica qual era Guillem Sagrera.4 A Castelnuovo, dove fu attivo dal 1449, Sagrera fu affiancato da ottimi maestri costruttori, dei quali egli dirigeva il lavoro, di provenienza iberica e cavese —cioè dalla città campana di Cava dei Tirreni, sede di una scuola di maestri costruttori celebre per secoli— tra i quali era anche il maestro Onofrio di Giordano, specializzato in ingegneria idraulica, che aveva già dato prova delle sue non comuni capacità lavorando a Ragusa in Dalmazia.5 Oltre alla costruzione delle torri e delle cortine, Sagrera, forte delle esperienze compiute nella cappella reale della cattedrale di Maiorca e soprattutto nella grande cappella della cattedrale di Barcellona, ebbe modo di concepire la grande Sala dei Baroni, a pianta quadrata di 26 metri di lato —massima ampiezza per una architettura gotica6 — con una copertura a ombrello, impostata su un ottagono tramite archi trasversali di collegamento tra i lati del quadrato, i cui costoloni, staccati dal vivo della muratura —carattere costruttivo in cui Pane ha ravvisato quella avidité spatiale individuata da Pierre Lavedan come tipica del tardogotico catalano7 — convergono in un oculo, evocando la centralità delle sale termali romane, i cui resti potevano ammirarsi a poca distanza da Napoli, nei Campi Flegrèi.8 Ma la presenza di maestri spagnoli accanto a quelli napoletani è ben riconoscibile in tante parti del castello: se la scala di accesso alla Sala dei Baroni, nella sua vicinanza a quella del Palazzo della Deputazione a Barcellona, rivela il gusto iberico dei suoi artefici, è possibile anche osservare portali dal sesto policentrico come quelli spagnoli accanto ad altri ad arco depresso di chiaro gusto durazzesco. La decorazione scultorea, talvolta in pietra di Maiorca, è quella del tardogotico iberico, fino al virtuosistico rosone della cappella di S. Barbara, opera del maiorchino Matteo Forsimanya del 1469-70, situato al disopra di una porta pressoché coeva, ma già decisamente rinascimentale.
Il terremoto del 1456 La Sala dei Baroni fu iniziata il 20 dicembre 1452. Nei mesi precedenti il problema della sua copertura doveva essere all’ordine del giorno, e quanto il Magnanimo tenesse alla realizzazione dell’audace opera lo si vide con il terremoto del 1456. La volta, terminata nella primavera dell’anno successivo, era evidentemente in avanzata fase di costruzione allorché, il 4 dicembre, un violentissimo evento sismico colpì gran parte dell’Italia meridionale, con gravissimi danni che furono ricordati a lungo. In quei giorni Alfonso d’Aragona, che si trovava in Puglia, fu raggiunto da un messo che gli riferì delle distruzioni di Napoli. Il re gli chiese notizie anche della volta della Gran Sala e, sentito che era rimasta intatta, ne fu così contento che gli donò 100 alfonsini.9 Da allora in poi a Napoli, come in tutto il Regno, nel costruire si dovette tenere in maggior conto il pericolo dei terremoti e questo, forse, credo spieghi anche perché Pietro Summonte, quasi settant’anni dopo, scrivendo a Marcantonio Michiel, sostenesse con convinzione quanto affermato da Leon Battista Alberti: e cioè che gli archi devono appoggiarsi ai pilastri e non alle colonne, pertinenti invece al sistema architravato. Dello stesso Summonte, che visse in un’epoca in cui l’architettura rinascimentale d’impronta toscana si era ormai affermata a Napoli, è anche questo giudizio: la sala grande di Castelnuovo è pur grande opera; ma è cosa catalana, nihil omnino habens veteris architecturae; 10 una prova di come l’ammirevole copertura realizzata da Sagrera non rispondesse più al gusto degli uomini di cultura napoletani, gusto che era già cambiato pochi anni dopo la conclusione dell’opera.

This is the info I have found until now:
The cast of the series will be led by Sasha Cócola (Techo y comida, Los hombres de Paco) and the Serbian actress Elena Matic (Kineski zid, Bon voyage). The little that is known about the synopsis is related to its characters, since they are the ones who will give life to Jordán and Cornelia. He is not a boy and he is not a man and she is a girl whose childhood has been stolen. Turned into some strange teenagers, they decide to change their lives and flee from the desert of southern Spain, pushed by circumstances. In their escape from a cruel Andalusia, as real as it is mythical, they come across demons, witches and blood drinkers.

In addition, to complete the information about the series, Romancero will be set on locations in Almería and Madrid, two of the cities that host the filming of the fiction, in different natural settings in the province of Almería, while the interiors will be filmed in Madrid.

Well, I find it very interesting that Romancero Gitano is a source of inspiration for a series, another work of Lorca was adapted some years ago into a film, La Novia (based on the play Bodas de Sangre).
The book is composed of 18 poems: Romance de la luna, luna, Preciosa y el aire, Reyerta, Romance sonámbulo, La monja gitana, La casada infiel, Romance de la pena negra, San Miguel, San Rafael, San Gabriel, Prendimiento de Antoñito el Camborio en el camino de Sevilla, Muerte de Antoñito el Camborio, Muerto de amor, Romance del emplazado, Romance de la Guardia Civil española, Martirio de Santa Olalla, Burla de don Pedro a caballo and Thamar y Amnón.
So, maybe the stories of the characters are inspired on the poems.
It was published in 1928, so maybe the series will be set on the 1920's, although it hasn't been told any concrete period, I don't know if they will through a modern day setting.
Romancero Gitano isn't a horror book but maybe some elements of the poems like metaphors or symbolisms could be taken for some kind of magical elements (and some of the metaphors are a bit strange due to surrealism influences, although surrealism is more a thing from Poeta en Nueva York, writen between the years 1929-30, published in 1940 in Mexico). The other inspiración for the series is Gothic literature, so that would be the source of supernatural elements.
Like, the Romancero book mainly are stories (some of them tragical) about Andalusian Romani people and their culture, and also deals with the marginalization and oppresion suffered by the Romanis because of the Civil Guard (the Spanish Gendarmerie).
Taking a look at the cast for Romancero, Alba Flores is Romani. She's from the Flores family, a famous Andalusian Romani family of artists, in fact Alba's grandmother was the flamenco dancer and singer Lola Flores.
An interesting aspect from Romancero Gitano is that Lorca mixed elements from the literary movements from the early 20th century and the style of poetry from the past, like the "Romancero viejo", that is a collection of anonymous poems from oral tradition from the Iberian Peninsula from the Middle Ages that were later published in books between the 15-16th centuries. Then there's the "Romancero nuevo", that is the total of the writen poetry of known authors since the 16th century (although it's common to focus on the poetry from the 16-17th centuries mainly).
Talking about symbolism, these are the main symbols used by Lorca in Romancero Gitano (although some of them are very common in other of his works):
• Metals (knives, anvils, rings...): the life of Romani people and death.
• Air or wind: tragedy, male eroticism aggressive and violent.
• Mirror: home and sedentary life.
• Water: (in motion) life, (at rest) stagnant passion or death.
• Well: stagnant passion or death
• Horse: unbridled passion that leads to death. It could also mean virility, wild passion or freedom.
• Moon: It is the most used by Lorca, it appears 218 times. Its symbolism depends on how it appears. If it is red it means painful death; black, simply death; big means hope; pointy, has an erotic connotation. I could also mean femininity or sensuality.
• Rooster: sacrifice and destruction of the Romani
• The Civil Guard: they represent authority, therefore symbols of destruction and death over the Romani
• Alcohol: negativity.
• Milk: the natural.
• Wicker rod: lordship, nobility, dignity and elegance of the Romani
•Color green: death. It could also represent love frustration, forbidden desire and male sexual instinct
• Color black: death.
• Color white: life, light.
• Roses: blood
• Rider: omen of death
• Fish: associated with sexuality and dawn
• Blood: sexual instinct and omen of death
I wonder if this symbols will be shown in some kind of way.
For example the symbol of the green color meaning death can be noted in the poem Romance sonámbulo, like in this case the green that is constantly used for descriving the woman or her environment means that is going to die/is dying, and she couldn't meet her lover again. Then there's other symbols like the moon that means death too and the aljibe (a water cistern) is water at rest, so it could also mean death. It could be that the woman got drown in the aljibe, and maybe the civil guards are involved or responsible for her death.
And also metals could be a death symbol, and the eyes of the woman are described as "cold silver", maybe a way of saying that her eyes are grey.

Now I'm remembering about symbolisms of Lorca's works that could be hinted in other fictions, although it's more like a theory/headcanon from a certain part of the Emdt fandom here on Tumblr, is that in El Ministerio del tiempo, Julián is the origin of the symbolism green=death. In this post there's the one in which the idea was pointed, although it points something more general, not concretely being a symbol for death, because depending on the work or the context, green can be also a symbol for life, rebeldy and desire for freedom. It might seem a little weird, but I will develop later.
Lorca's character makes his debut in the season 1 finale 1×08, La leyenda del tiempo, set on 1924 (Lorca was 26 years old in 1924, although Ángel Ruiz, the actor who plays Lorca is much older) that clearly shows references or takes themes from some of his works, like the poem Fábula y rueda de los tres amigos from Poeta en Nueva York and the poem La Leyenda del tiempo (the title of the episode comes from this poem) from the play Así que pasen cinco años , but indirectly could be a little from Romancero Gitano.
Like, firstly in the episode it's shown a special connection between Julián and Lorca through dreams, and their shared dreams of the episode depict Maite's death.
Something like the eye colors of an actor may seem something trivial, but yeah, Rodolfo Sancho's eyes are green, although sometimes it can't be appreciated well, although for example there's a close up to Julián's eyes at the end of episode 1×07 Tiempo de Venganza , and Mar Ulldemolins' eyes, the actress who plays as Maite, are also green.
Just by the end of the episode Julián tries to save Maite but he fails, and it resembles a bit the situation of the poem where the traveler is going to meet his lover, but she died and he couldn't do anything to save her. But at the end in the season 4 finale he finally saved her.
Next there's the issue of Lorca's death, and Julián is worried about and wanted to warn Lorca about his death but he didn't do it, so in season 4 he did it, although Lorca accepted his fate.
This is kind of a joke but in the first seasons Julián is the Margaery Tyrell of Emdt, like the ones who get married with them probably will die soon, in one case Renly and Joffrey (+Tommen in GOT) and then Maite and Amelia.
Between Amelia and Julián there was the thing about the fake engagement that started on episode 1×04 so Amelia's mother doesn't annoy her with trying to push her into an arranged marriage, and then what it's known from Amelia's tomb and the photos, the wedding, their daughter and Amelia's death, and in episode 8 they me their grandaughter Silvia (played by Iria del Río, who has participated in some period dramas like La catedral del mar and Las chicas del cable). Although after what happened in the following seasons, that future will never happen.
I was thinking about the Emdt showrunners Javier and Pablo Olivares. Pablo had Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and the first season of Emdt was his last work (in the last previous years the Olivares brothers worked on period dramas like Isabel or Víctor Ros) and there could be some personal aspects reflected on ths series in some character plots, for example following this theme, there's no cure for ALS and there's the struggle of both brothers towards Pablo's death, from Pablo's perspective, knowing that he's going to die soon, like Amelia visiting her own tomb in the first seasons, knowing she's going to die in 5-4 years, although she didn't knew about the cause of her death (that's a thing for fan theories); Pablo and Javier facing Pablo's future death, reflected in Julián and Lorca, Julián told Lorca that he'll die and Lorca accepts it and Julián deals with it; iI would say that this also could be seen in the Amelia &Julián part, although maybe Julián isn't as much emotionaly involved into it but he cares about Amelia (Julián is more focused on Maite and maybe the thing about knowing that he will allegedly marry, have a daughter and lose someone again it'a a bit hard to process);and there's the last part of Javier mourning his brother, that could be represented in Julián's mouring over Maite's death.
