Pingxie/Xieping Chinese Fic Recs

Important:

One post contains 20 recs. I'll keep updating as I collect more.

I have not mentioned what the ratings are, because a number of the Chinese fics don't really rate in the way Eng fics do, I've read G rated fics that have an E rated chapter sometimes. Also PingXie/XiePing is sometimes *literal*, as in top/bottom dynamics, but having a fic labelled either of them doesn't necessarily mean it has sex or even mentions of it. See, it's complicated😂. The most I can do is try summarize what the fic's overall vibe is like, and I have not linked anything that are too risqué, so you can click at your own volition and test the waters!

So, there’s probably going to be a lot of ‘I started this over on Twitter’ content while I slowly migrate over here so apologies for that.

I’ve been livetweeting the DMBJ novels since I started reading them TWO YEARS ago. God why are there so many books and why do I not have more time for reading?

Anyway I can’t link to the thread because Twitter is broken but I will at some point in case anyone wants to read 2 years of me yelling about these idiot characters in these dumb books (affectionate)

But, for now, I’ll do a post as and when I have stuff to say. I’ve just started Notes From Rain Village/Yucun Biji so I’m pretty much at the end of the series now. I read part 1 of this story back when it first got translated. It inspired a whole series of fics.

I figured I’d read part 1 again just to get back in the mood. Parts 2 and 3 are totally new to me.

I’ll tag all my book tweets with Hils reads DMBJ so you can mute it if you’re not interested.

And, without further ado, this evenings musings

I’m really delighted by the image of Xiaoge just standing there quietly drinking his soy milk. Is he lactose intolerant? Does he just prefer the taste of it?

This has such ace Wu Xie vibes. Don’t ask him about dating he has no idea.

Pangzi just casually reminding everyone that Xiaoge is the prettiest. He really does talk about how pretty Xiaoge is a lot in these books.
