Y'all I just watched Goncharov cause I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I gotta say, I loved it. I'm sad it took me so long to watch. Every aspect was incredibly done from the symbolism (which btw no one talks about the apple symbolism nearly enough they can mean so many things imo) to the complex romance. I usually don't care much for romance but this movie really hooked me. It's done so beautifully and it's actually believable and not forced. Goncharov's relationship with Andrey is so brave especially for the time and I was torn between Andrey and Katya. Although overall I think my favorite character was Katya, Her story arc was incredibly interesting and the twist with Sofia was mind-blowing. The ending had me in tears, it was a fitting end to an incredible movie and I'm holding out hope for Goncharov II.
All in all a great movie that I recommend you watch, you have to go digging to find it since it's censored quite heavily. I did find a link after a bit but the link is broken so you'll have to find it yourself, but trust me, it's worth it.

Okay but the clock symbolism in Goncharov? The red dress Katya wore as she went to bed alone, staring anywhere but her husband's pocket watch lying on the bedside table???

Seeing Katya take that leap just as the climax of the movie is about to commence and remembering how she watched Goncharov take the exact opposite leap earlier in the movie, learning from the mistakes…

i promise im not tryna hate and i love the jokes but as a ~~serious~~ film fan i wanna see more gorcharov analysis. i have not seen enough break down the motif of zooming in on peoples mouths every time they drink alcohol or how katya gets more lighting after she reads Karl Marx like we NEED to talk abt it

"Wit," Dalinar said with a sigh, "I haven't the mind for this tonight. I'm sorry if I'm missing your intent, but I have no idea what you mean."
"I know," Wit said, then looked directly at him. "Gornachov."
Dalinar frowned more deeply. "What?"
Wit searched his face. "Have you ever heard the term, Dalinar?"
"Gorna ... what?"
"Nothing," Wit said. He seemed preoccupied, unlike his usual self. "Nonsense. Balderdash. Figgldygrak. Isn't it odd that gibberish words are often the sounds of other words, cut up and dismembered, then stitched into something like them - yet wholly unlike them at the same time?"
Dalinar frowned.
"I wonder if you could do that to a man. Pull him apart, emotion by emotion, bit by bit, bloody chunk by bloody chunk. Then combine them back together into something else, like a Dysian Aimian. If you do put a man together like that Dalinar, be sure to name him Unrealism, after me. Or perhaps Unreality."
