Sandra's Wedding are a Goole, England band. They definitely sound English, but sound more like Prefab Sprout or Aztec Camera than any of my "normal" English fare.
So, I guess this is more stylish, smooth-sounding pop. I'll throw in a few more bonus references: The Style Council, Orange Juice and Lloyd Cole.
Speaking of making comparisons. This blog is built upon it and I do realize it may seem like I'm saying a band or artist isn't original. That's never my intention. Digital Regress in their write-up for the new Famous Mammals release said it best when they said that comparisons are "in the stitching, but the design & thrust" is the band's own sound. I like that.
"The Hopeful Boy Replacement Service" is available on CD from Subjangle. This is the LP version and it is self-released by the band.

Number 5 in my series, ‘I hear the river laugh.’
Drilling down
Ever narrower now, energy building,
Sluicing water upwards, roaring over mudflats,
Through to Goole, swamping the Ouse and Trent,
Removing ten thousand years
Of post-glacial civilisation.
York and Venice cannot be saved,
By Tidal Barriers.
Profits rise with the water
Until drilling down means holding on
Against the soaring…
Howdy, I'm still alive. Not many drawings lately, but a lot of ling fun time. I just wanted to share my crafts hehe
My niece had fun playing with the ling plushies, I taught her about the goolings, and she drew Wiwi a couple times. I made her a Wiwi plushie and I'm gonna make a Lewling and a Hoardling too since she really wants her own. Makes me happy. That's what they're made for to make folks happy.
