honestly your dpxdc clone au gives me life, its adorable as all hell and im a sucker for found family but with that being said, its so freaking hysterical to me that Danny is going full feral liminal menace at Wes any time hes near and Wes himself is still 100% into it the freak (affectionate) and thats not even pointing out the paralles it could possible create since danny and dames gives massive parallels to dick and damian and dick does have a thing for redheads.

yeesSSSSS! I was planning on hoarding this to myself but i can't not reply. and i'll be able to find this again with the clone^2 tag so win WIN. i'm so glad you are as delighted by this as me. It's so hilarious to me that Danny just becomes a complete freak whenever he spots Wes, and I'm the one who wrote it into existence. Like- like i don't know how to explain my vision in words but like, its like Danny sees Wes and immediately goes 'what can I do to make his day worse'. And then he goes and does it.

He's relatively normal around his friends too, which makes him going full-fledged unhinged around Wes even funnier to me. Like, Danny will spout weird shit sometimes to Sam and Tucker, but usually its prefaced with him talking about patrol or there would be context before he said anything. With Wes? Though?? he will just. say anything, completely unprompted. Slings an arm around his shoulder like they've been buddies since primary school and then spits out a weird new fun fact he learned about the bodily anatomy while researching his latest cold case. All vaguely-threatening but utterly insane things to say as way to start a conversation.

And sometimes its not even that, he'll walk up to Wes and ask him if he saw the latest daytime fight between Phantom and Skulker. And then he'll say "yeah i missed it myself but I saw clips of it being posted online" and then watch Wes mentally explode him with his mind. or he'll disparage Phantom for having such a young partner with him, "Can you believe he'd let a kid fight ghosts with him? I'd never let my brother ghosthunt with me if I was Phantom."

All of this with such a deceptive look on his face but the most delighted, shit-eating gleam in his eyes. Wes is chewing glass and he wants to yell that he does let his brother fight ghosts with him. Also you told him yourself that nothing would've stopped your demonic (Wes' words) little brother from joining you.

Damian gets in on the fuckery occasionally, but since he's not around often with Wes about, it doesn't happen nearly as often as it does between Wes and Danny. Sam and Tucker know he's screwing with him too, and both of them are a little wary about him being careless with his secret id. But he's been doing this since he was 14-ish and it hasn't backfired yet. So. They're not actively stopping him.

Danny walks back to his lunch table after terrorizing Wes and Tucker just asks him what he said, because Wes was about as red as a tomato when he walked away. Danny offhandedly sighs and innocently says he tried to have a conversation about Phantom with him. Wes didn't seem to like it all that much. Weird.

And yes, yes. Wes is totally into it and is slightly enraged about this fact, because not even he knows why he's into it. The freak (affectionate). Danny gives him this troublemaker smirk, and i did say smirk, and Wes doesn't know whether or not if he wants to smack him or kiss him. Or both. Like, yeah, pine, white boy, pine.

(And this is a dramatized image but I'm also highly entertained by the idea that Wes keeps getting routine dirty looks from various peers because they, too, have a crush on Fenton. Except Fenton doesn't talk to anyone else unless its his friends and sometimes Valerie, and Weston, the guy who keeps accusing him of being the local vigilante, is somehow routinely having conversations with him?? And BLOWING IT?? Like everyone else thinks he's fumbling so bad, and yet fenton keeps tALKING to him.)

And yes!! i'm always so pleased whenever someone brings up the parallels D+D have to Dick and Damian, because that was lowkey my intention when I was making the solo clone damian au. Although it was supposed to be more implied since I don't really know much about Damian and Dick other than they're very close and Dick was Damian's Batman for a year. And then of course the very smaller parallel (??) 'what if' between Bruce and Damian and D+D in clone^2 considering who they are both clones of.

And man this just makes me want to talk about when batfam meet D+D because I just want them to see D+D be so brotherly towards each other. Like I want them to see Bby Dames wearing his goofy fun fact shirts and stealing Danny's hoodies/flannels/etc and blatantly lying about it when Danny asks. Only for Danny to then throw him over his shoulder like Tadashi from BH3 and jump around.

And also. I do not know what Damian Wayne's (DW as I'll call him) stance on being called "Dami" is - the general consensus I've seen is that its usually used as a playful nickname in order to get a rise out of him, and he doesn't really like it.

But baby Dames being called that freely, and often, and its sometimes used to get a rise out of him but thats typically what nicknames do. Its used as easily as his full name is with the same amount of affection. And its like his main go-to nickname. "Dami" and "Dames" with the occasional "Bud/Buddy", "Squirt", "Little man", etc. Not once is he ever called 'demon-spawn'

(which i know is a fanon nickname but its a relatively popular nickname)

but yeah, uhhh. i think thats all of my thoughts on the matter. for now lmAO

So you want to print and distribute a free zine...

I wanted to throw together a short tutorial on how I print zines using this excellent COVID safety zine by @newlevant as an example.

Printing

First make sure you are clicking on the printable file. When you open it, it should look slightly jumbled. I always look for seeing the front cover and the back cover on the same page.

Then click "print" (usually a printer icon) and open "more settings".

The key things people tend to get wrong when they try printing zines is they forget to make sure that it is double sided and flips on the short edge. If you tried printing one and it came out looking wonky, make sure to check this.

Also, it will make your life infinitely easier if you use the collate option should you have it available to you.

Fit to printable area is a helpful setting to have on if you're printing zines who use a different paper standard than you. This zine didn't for me but I leave this on out of habit.

When you've got this all set up - print as many copies as you want to assemble.

Assembling

When you get them out of the printer they'll look like this. Just a big old stack. I highly recommend parsing out each individual copy before you try assembling any. I have made that mistake before.

This is how I stack mine.

I like to leave the cover side up as it makes for a clearer division as I'm assembling.

As you're flipping through these to parse and stack them, check them over for any issues with printing. I ran out of printer toner on the first three so I'm glad I checked.

Imperfections are fine but you're looking for anything that makes critical information unreadable.

To assemble a copy, get them lined up by tapping them on the table along a short and a long edge.

Both hands is a lot easier but I was trying to take a picture lol

Then fold them hamburger style and smooth down the spine as best you can. If you have a bone folder or similar use that.

Again, let go of perfection. We are looking for good enough here. Minor errors here should not make info unreadable so don't sweat the small stuff.

I recommend doing all your folding in one go to prevent errors. Or at least it really helps me.

Now it's time to staple. You will see my fancy stapler in the background - you do not require it and I would not recommend it. Unhinging a normal stapler is way easier to use in my opinion and this one gets jammed fairly easy. Use what you've got.

If you don't have staples, but you do have sewing supplies - check out this tutorial for a way to bind it with thread.

If you have no staples and no thread, you don't have to staple every zine. Smaller ones (~5 pages or less) do fine with no staple. They can be a little tougher for some people to use and don't hold up as well being taken in and out of places so I would consider that when thinking of where to leave them. They're still well worth printing and putting out.

This zine is small enough that one staple in the center should be enough to keep it together.

I opted to staple in two places - one about an inch in from either edge - mostly out of habit. It does add a little stability and will make them a little better for putting in Little Free Libraries and other places where they'll be removed and placed back.

Here is my partner looking over the zines to make sure my stapling didn't cut off any important information in each copy. It's a little tedious but it's pretty important. A quick flip through can mean the difference between someone getting the info you want them to have or not.

And here's the finished product

I made 15. I'm pretty privileged and have been making zines for over a decade now so it's almost like knitting or crochet for me. Feel free to make fewer copies or just one for yourself. It still counts.

I will stick some in each car and my bag. I have some medical appointments coming up so I will for sure be leaving some of these in the waiting room.

I'm also going to keep an eye out for Little Free Libraries and other place where people are looking for something to read. I might also toss some on the tables of a coffee shop I pop into sometimes (masked, take out only) and the library to pick up books (also masked).

I tend not to give them to specific people, even people I know, because people are way more open to information they've picked up themself than something it feels like someone is pressuring them to read. But if people bring it up in conversation, I'll be sure to offer a copy to anyone who is interested.

★ Dtk has seen alot of different fighting styles, but this, this is a bit to much. Doesn't do anything but stare at you while you make quick work of the kishin your fighting.

★ After everything is said and done he asks if you could take it down a notch? Unless it's a fighting tactic. Then your fighting style make slightly more sense, as it's surprisingly effective in battle. Liz and patty think it's a nice parallel to Kid's more calm and mature fighting style.

★ The next time he sees you fight he gives you a few pointer after. Like how you could have slashed across the enimies eyes instead of aiming for the mouth. But in your defence they did call you a "feral-ass mister".

Crona

★ They're a bit off put by this change in development. On one hand there glad that they don't need to worry about you fighting and getting hurt, but on the other it's a bit scary seeing you like this.

★ Even Ragnarok says something about it being creepy "What the hell, did they finally snap?" But when the battle is over you go back to your usual self and they are just confused.

★ Stuttering, they ask what that was and if you're okay, maybe you should write a poem with them? But you just go back to your usual self and reassure Crona that you just fight like that.

★ So after seeing a new side to you, you and Crona go back to the academy. They're still a little shaken but still try to get ahold of themselves. Latter they talk to Maka about it.

“What?”

“I said no.”

“Why not?!”

47’s deadpan expression didn’t waver as he took a sip of his tea, the warmth of the liquid was evident to you even from where you stood. “Because I said so.” You almost audibly laughed at that, currently you were attempting asking your father to let you leave the house to go to a party that you had been invited to by one of the only people your father lets you talk to. He’s let you out of the house before so you don’t get why he won’t let you go this time. "That's not even an answer." "I don't want you going, drop it." You closed your mouth, swallowing any further protests as you did. "Fine," quickly, you stormed off to your room, making sure to not slam the door.

You huffed as you stuffed a bag with some extra clothing. You carefully picked out which garments you threw in there, you'd change later. You picked up a hunters knife from your desk and hid it in your boot. You’ve been with your dad for long enough to know that sneaking out was possible but not plausible. After he notices your absence, you practically have a specific amount of time before he locates you and drags you back home.

You’ve only attempted this once before way back when you’d first been taken. You were a child then and were able to escape using the vents that led through to the outside. You were only gone for what felt like a matter of seconds in your kid brain, though in reality you know if was longer. It took you a while to accept your “new life” as 47 put it. He was your father and though you know he took you from your real parents at this point there’s not much you can do about it now. You can’t remember what your old life used to be like so you don’t feel as bad when thinking about it. Instead, you’re glad that your father cares so much and even after earning his trust enough for you to go out semi-often his protective nature can still get overbearing at times. You’ve totally spotted him trailing you when you’re out with the only people that 47 let’s you talk to. Sometimes you wonder if they’re just actors he’s hired to make you stop whining about not meeting new people.

You scoffed at the thought as you zipped up your bag, you had a few rations of food and some water bottles in case you got thirsty, you were to wait until your father goes to bed and then you’d act, he sleeps around the same time every night when he’s not taking mission and it’s usually a pretty early time so there should be no problem with getting to the party late. All you had to do now was wait.

The house was cold and dark, the shiny tiles reflected the light from the full moon that shone through the large windows. You'd be foolish to go through the front door knowing the system your dad has set up this whole house would come down on top of you if you were to trigger any alarms. Your heart raced and you steadied your breathing as you walked barefoot through the halls. Your father had an armory within the house that had a crawlspace designed for quick escapes. The heavy disguised door let out an even colder draft as you opened it. Flicking on your flashlight you pointed it into the dark room, stepping in and shutting the weighted door behind you as quietly as you could. You swear you could see your breath as you creeped through the cold armory, elevating your heels to feel less of the cold on your feet.

You quickly placed the flashlight in your mouth as you crouched down near the wall. Pulling a lockpick from your pocket, you undid the lock of the crawlspace as quick as you could, the cold of the room stiffening your movements slightly. After getting it open you crawled in, throwing your backpack further ahead first so that you could properly close the door to the makeshift tunnel. The space led you to a small room near the garage, the only way out other than the place you just came from was a large vent that sat in the corner. With a bit of struggle you were able to get high enough to unscrew it and crawl through.

You had done it, you'd made it outside, and though you knew you'd left an obvious trail of where you'd gotten out it was fine to you. Avoiding the cameras, you found your bike near the trail in front of your house and grabbed it. It was now that you put on your shoes, hoping that you hadn't left any obvious trails up until this point. You rode through the forests, breaking off from the main trail near the beginning to a less taken hikers trail that was blocked off halfway down the mountain.

Eventually you'd made your way to the main streets, riding all the way until you hit a gas station. It was there that you freshened up in their bathroom, changing your clothes into a more appealing outfit for the party. You then continued your ride to the address your friend had given you, your smile growing as you heard music as you continued to near the place. But no matter how happy you currently were your father was quite the opposite.

Looking at the cameras, his signature expression changed ever so slightly as he frowned. You'd escaped his watchfulness, honestly he hadn't expected you to get so far. By the time he awoke you were already outside, the crawlspace he guessed, and upon inspection he was right. He was quick to check his cameras, he had them aligned with the main trail to get to the house and at first he was able to locate you, but you'd obviously gone off path because the next second you weren't in frame anymore. He sighed, rolling up the sleeves of his black turtle neck. He stood, going to grab everything he thinks he'll need. Guns, knives, and syringes of multiple poisons littered the walls and counters of his basement. Explosives? He doesn't think it'll get that serious.

Sedative? Perfect.

He packs his coins and garrote wire along and sets off to track you.

"I'm so glad you could make it Y/n!" You friend yells over the loud music and you cheer back. "Me too! It took a while to convince my dad but I made it!" You lied, clinking your drink with them before chugging it back. "Oh shit-" Your friend stumbled and you snorted, almost choking on your drink as you laughed. "Ughhh here, take my drink," you said, handing your cup to your friend, "I gotta piss." "Let me go with youuu," they slurred and you shook your head. "I'll be right back it's right over...there!" You saidd, pointing dramatically towards the open bathroom door. "Plus I need someone to watch my drink." they sighed before waving you off, mumbling a fine as you skipped your way to the bathroom.

"Woops, sorry!" Your friend said after someone bumped into them. The person hadn't responded though and quickly got lost in the crowd of people. Checking that none of your drink spilled on them, your friend sighed at the lack of liquid on their clothing. Lifting the cup to their lips they paused, before laughing at themselves. "That's- That is not my drink~," they giggled at themselves before pushing your cup away from them.

Sooner rather than later you came back to your friend, swooping your drink out of their hand you took a sip as they immediately went back to talking to you. After a while though the lights started to blur together, it felt different from the previous effects of the slightly alcoholic beverages you'd been drinking and you struggled to keep your eyes open.

"Hey I'm gonna go get some air-" You tried to yell over the music but you're not sure how loud you'd actually been speaking. Stumbling out of the party you were met with the fresh cold night air, a stark contrast to the humid environment inside. You walked a little ways away from the intimate couples that littered around the front of the house. You blinked slowly as you caught your breath, you felt a little better but not by much.

A clinking noise caught your attention, in between the houses where the fence clashed with the opposite houses, creating a dark alleyway. Curious, you walked towards it, well, more like stumbled as your feet seemed to work against you. As you neared the location of the sound you were met with something shiny, a quarter. You picked it up, inspecting it a bit. "Nice," you slurred, putting the shiny metal into your pocket before standing back up. You stumbled backwards into a sturdy surface, a wall maybe? That you swear wasn't there before.

Turning, you came face to face with the bright blue eyes of your father. A gasp escaped you as you tried to back away, tripping over your own feet causing you to fall to the hard ground. You groaned as your father crouched down to you. "You never should have disobeyed me." Your vision blurred a bit more as you attempted to defend yourself. "What's wrong? Feeling a bit tired?" His voice warped in your ears as you fought the urge to keep your eyes open. "Let's get you home dear," Your eyes finally shut as your father grabbed ahold of your now limp body.

Waking up in your bed, you groaned as the slight hangover caused a pounding pain in your head. You moved to get up only to feel a slight tug on your limbs, halting your movements.

"Huh? Wh-"

Your eyes scanned your form, noticing that all of your limbs were handcuffed to the posts of your bed. "It's a precaution." Your head snapped to the side, where your father was sitting in a chair near the door. His expression, unhappy. You gulped, the false hope that you'd be able to sneak out of your house without getting caught felt so foolish now as his intense gaze practically swallowed you whole. When you'd be unchained, you weren't sure, maybe days or weeks even. But you do know that it'd be better for you if you just do as instructed from here on out. For your fathers punishments were never for the faint of heart.

tbh you are so real for talking about the misogyny targeted to mei & other women in the lmk fandom. in general its like people only value mei as: a: the wingman to some basic mlm ship or b: macaque 2.0. its honestly crazy how so many male side characters overshadow her in the fanbase despite not even having a FRACTION of her screen time. idk chat i feel like the reason people dont care about mei but care about some random male side/background character is less because they're inherently more likeable but because some of you view women as inherently less likable. and everyone is always like "mei is so girlboss pussy cunt slay shes the only reason theyre still alive because she keeps them safe from their silly boy shennanigans shes their ultimate wingman shes so badass shes their lesbian best friend i totally paid attention to her when i watched this show LOL" and even ignoring the obvious misogyny here (ie. how people reduce her to being the male characters babysitter) its like... okay... i know mei is cool & badass already... could you name literally ANY other character trait she has. like people just value her as being "the braincell" who can get red son and mk together or something stupid and its like are we having fun still is this still fun. literally every day i go into the mei tag its like "look at mei shes red sons wifey and shes vaguely in the background of this drawing of red son and mk staring into each others eyes #trafficlighttrio am i right oh look shes macaques niece now this post is about ao lie why is it in the mei tag"

and thats literally JUST talking about mei and it doesnt even begin to cover the other female characters. chang'e constantly gets reduced to being red sons aunt/mom/big sister despite them like. not having any actual interactions in the show. lady bone demon constantly gets overshadowed by her minion who has like 2 seconds of screen time, or she gets made into a cartoonishly abusive madwoman who people call lady bitch demon. just in general people act like shes a horrible person for like. being a villain. liks yeah the trying to destroy everything was bad but also she was an antagonist and thats what antagonists do LOL. spider queen gets completely ignored. princess iron fan gets made into a cartoonishly abusive mother so that way red son can have a poor angsty backstory and some male character (usually nezha, macaque, swk) can take care of him.

(also theres just a great deal of ethnocentrism in the lmk fanbase? like im white so take what İ say here with a grain of salt but so many people will misconstrue aspects of chinese culture for their own personal hcs. people will say male characters are transfem or nonbinary while completely ignoring the time period/culture their from where thats the norm. like yippee youve implied that an east asian man is feminine/emasculine because he has long hair. how do you not see the negative connotations with this. people also turn pif (& lbd to an extent) into a dragon lady which obviously has negative racial connotations lol.)

Yeah, I totally hear you. The lmk fandom has plenty of issues with misogyny and, like you said, ethnocentrism. It's definitely something worth having a discussion about, along with these issues in fandom as a whole.

i got an ask in my email that never showed up in my inbox that was basically looking for book recs and since only one person asked for my opinion and because this was the year i fell back in love with reading, i'm going to do a myspace Top 8 books i loved this year, in no particular order:

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein this is basically a love story. it's a love story and you won't change my mind. i don't mean romantic love except that i mean best friends loving each other to and through the end of the world can be romantic and we should say that more often. because this a book about war and its terrors but it's also the love story between two best friends and what they'll do to get back to each other. it has probably one of my favorite protagonists ever - actually, two of my favorites. Wein tells a devastatingly perfect story and i promise your heart will swell and sink and tie itself into tiny knots. kiss me, hardy! kiss me quick! 5 stars, i cried at the end

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo i was late to the SoC books and boy am i glad i finally showed up to the party. this book was perfection. i immediately fell in love with each crow and spent the whole book screaming that if nina and matthias didn't kiss ASAP that i was going to throw something. i also was yelling about kaz and inez, do not think i was not doing that. kex brekker you deserve love you street rat. @dealanexmachina had to deal with the screaming through this. and i think it's going to be a repeat read in 2024 just so i can experience the care and craftsmanship that went into each character, their nuances, and how it wove perfectly together into kaz's brilliant plan. 5 stars, i immediately read the sequel like a hungry jaugar hunting down a person wearing that calvin klein scent

Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson brando sando is... prolific. and it was overwhelming to jump in, but i started with tress and not any of his other books (a problem i have rectified) and what a bang it was. this book is, in a word, hilarious. the narrator is a fantastical being with an aversion to linear thought and a predilection for hilarity. the humor in this book is unlike any of sandos other work and really shows that he has the ability to stretch. the premise is very clever and very cool and just very fun. tress is brave and smart and that's celebrated, not punished. plus who doesn't love a talking rat? i'm looking forward to his other secret projects 4.5 stars, the narrator is my favorite sando character

Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak okay, this is billed as horror, but i wouldn't really say horror and would lean more into the mystery billing than anything. maybe thriller. and it's outside my usual genre and is definitely more suited to my wife's tastes but she finished this book in three days (and usually takes 3 weeks-to-months to finish books) and when she said i had to read it, i said yes dear and picked it up. i'm glad i did. it's an illustrated mystery and as the author writes in the notes, those who pay attention will be rewarded. the ending was a twist i didn't see coming, like, at all. and it was clever. but once the ending started to unfold it was a mad dash to the finish. 5 stars, my wife recommends this

The Nevernight Chronicles by Jay Kristoff now, i know. this is actually 3 books, not 1. but hear me out - they must all be read. it's nonnegotiable. these books were recommended by tumblr user @fiddleabout and am i so very glad they were. mia is unhinged. there's no other way to put that. the girl is fucking off. her. rocker. and no one in her life is any better. they're all just as freaking crazy. but they're my crazy comfort killers. i went on for hours about mia and ash, to the point that my wife shut the bathroom door in my face because i tried to follow her in there talking about them. this series is bloody and more than once i was like, he can't possibly make this any bloodier but he CAN and i think this book is better for it. found family, check. unhinged teenage protagonist, double check. endless fun, check in triplicate. 4.5 stars, i am never not thinking of ash and her vision of a house on a lake and softness

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon obviously i read priory first and obviously i loved it but ADoFN was... mind-blowing. maybe because priory enriched the world of ADoFN and i was already familiar with all the intricacies of it (though there was certainly more to learn) but reading this just... the bridging Shannon did, the connections she made between priory and ADoFN and how we ultimately saw the way ADoFN threaded some of the loops we saw closing in priory, it blew my mind. the utter romance of it all, my god. i read this monster book in a single day, i couldn't put it down. i emerged from my ADoFN cocoon like andy samberg in that one SNL skit where he plays a teenager who just woke up. i was changed(TM) 5 stars, i was a changed man

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo i immediately jumped into the rest of the Leigh's work (i went through SaB first but she's so strong at the end of this Grishaverse) and while i love all my SoC babes, nina was a favorite and honestly i'd recommend both King of Scars and this book. tumblr user fiddleabout was blessed to follow along with my completely unhinged livestream of this book and when (spoiler) zoya and nikolai finally got over themselves and K I S S E D, i put the book down and took a lap. then i picked it up and screamed again as nina's arc unfolded. 5 stars, i have a lot of thoughts about the kind of man nikolai is (peg)

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty i'm a bit of a sucker for a pirate book. even more of a sucker about a woman pirate, and amina is a woman pirate of the highest caliber. this book is either intentionally funny or unintentionally hilarious. amina's biggest flaw is that she's constantly ogling her demon ex-husband's cute butt - honest to god. otherwise, she's perfection. badass, scrappy, jacked. amina is all of those things and then some. so she has a bit of a past that winds up coming back to bite her in the ass and then she's thrust back onto a ship where she has to chase down an old crewmate's daughter - can you blame a girl for being the most kickass pirate in all of the seas? no! should you? absolutely not! just let amina live out her life ogling ass and sailing leisurely, please. 4.5 stars, i want to sail on amina's ship even though i'm afraid of boats. and the ocean. and things living in the ocean. and generally the water.

ok but.. real talk i think ranchers is like. my number two "I actually ship this no strings or footnotes attached" ship right after ethubs.

I am usually not one to be moved by ships that are just "they are fun and healthy together and love eachother" but oh GOD the ranchers. See I think the thing is they just.. make sense for eachother even if you don't expect it until the point they realise they're soulmates.

Jimmy's situation has been talked about to hell and back at this point but Tango is also very out of his element in the life series. He says himself that pvp is not his specialty and he doesn't have the time or resources to make his skill set shine. So he ends up either somewhat ignored or outcasted for most of the games. (<-- fyi fun fact this is where the whole 'mech pilot tango' idea came from lol. i feel like he'd have a dva-style mech outside of the life series)

In particular i LOVE his relationship with team BEST and I NEED desperately to talk abt it more. the way he's constantly talked over by his own teammates, intimidated, asked to sacrifice his own lives for their sake, "tango's Easy", etc. etc.

They both have this habit of hiding their own insecurities behind a facade of boisterousness, but no matter how much either of them puff out their chests and raise their voices, their message of "please take me seriously" never seems to get through.

The Ranchers are just.. two losers against the world. and they inspire confidence within the other that they can't find in themselves. and yes the world forces them apart but you can Feel that influence they've had on one another in the background.

Plus I, uh... Unhinged but I have this thing with the life smp where there's this running theme throughout the story about how it doesn't really matter who wins or who dies first.

Because for every epic battle and every tear-jerking death there was fun and laughter and stupid, trivial drama before and in between and those little moments may not be as memorable or written down in history but they're what makes the series enjoyable. Yes, we're all gonna die, but isn't it cool that we laughed with eachother and made dumb jokes and adopted a frog and said "I love you" on the way there?

The Ranchers epitomize that.

They are doomed. They both know this, I think. Neither of them can fight, they're left begging for scraps by session 2, no one on the server takes either of them seriously and they lost a life literally like 10 minutes into the first episode.

But they built a home together, raised livestock, stood up for eachother. and they were happy together.

and isn't that what really matters?

and neither of them are even aware of how much they really meant to the other one. the game ends. tango tells jimmy to go home. go. they certainly don't break up to the extent of Some Other Pairings In This Series but i like to think tango distances himself, thinking jimmy would be happier with his friends and not stuck with him. jimmy thinks the same. but they still wave hi and call eachother rancher and now they're running a salad restaurant together or something i guess.

It's just.. everything that gets the two of them condemned and made fun of in their other relationships is what's Celebrated in theirs. They can just be themselves, mistakes and silliness and imperfections at all, with no pressure to perform amazing feats and make amazing stuff and I think that's great.

um yeah i like ranchers.

Twst Actor Au (The cast members)

(They do have different names, but I don't want to rename them all ;-;)

Twisted Wonderland is a TV series. Each book is a season (Prologue & Book 1 was combined together) and the length of episodes for each season is always increasing like in game. Every season has a new Yuu like the manga.

The events are TV specials and the Yuu for that certain special depends on what season they are working on at the moment.

Riddle is a quiet and sweet teenager. He took the role to sharpen his skills by acting the opposite of his usual self and enjoys the compliments he gets from how well he's doing it. (Some people get confused when meeting him)

Trey isn't that from his character beside burning a bowl of cereal on accident one time. He doesn't know how he did that. He also made the "Trey's hobby is teeth" from an off-hand joke.

Cater is calm and laid back guy, very different from his character. When he's acting, it's like you flipped a switch from how well he can get energetic.

Ace is not that different from his character. He's blunt and clever that he sometimes ad-libs his lines.

Deuce normally plays bad boys, so taking a role of a bad boy trying to redeem himself, he got excited for this role. Although his common role is being bad, his true self is often seen in Deuce.

Leona is a pleasant guy to be around that you're conflicted if you want to punch him or compliment him after filming. Also, he's actually Cheka's uncle and loves the little brat so much he's often stalked by the cast and crew when the two are together.

Ruggie is a big brother to four siblings and understands his character on taking care of those younger. He's not diligent as Ruggie, but gives his character mad respect.

Jack is a new to the world of acting and put a lot of his energy in bettering his skills. He's often babied by the more skilled actors, but it's playful teasing.

Azul has done a few small roles, but this is his second big role and playing as a vacuum salesman like Azul. It takes some time for him to get into the role from how different it is from his previous roles.

Jade is in the same boat like Azul's actor, first time playing as a character like Jade. He often asks questions to the actors who have done gentlemen type characters before to better understand Jade.

Floyd is a jack of all traits, he has done a handful of different types of characters and Floyd isn't any different. However, he has stated in an interview he likes the more of unhinged characters since they're more fun.

Jamil is also new to the world of acting, only has done one role before Twst. And just like in the show, he's annoyed by Kalim's actor often in a sibling type way and can't help but laugh everytime.

Kalim isn't that different from his character, just he's less energetic. He often gets roles like Kalim's character from how free it feels and how thrilling it is when a scene gets serious.

Vil isn't that different from his character and gives good advice when you ask. He often moms the younger/newer actors without realizing it.

Rook understands his character's love for everything beautiful and how poetic he is, but he's even creeped out by the huntsman and is glad he's not real.

Epel is a gremlin like his character. He loves unhinged/rough characters and goes all out if he's allowed to. However, him taking the role has been a bad idea because he has been using his cutesy looks like his character.

Idia is friendly guy you could chill with on your days off. Meeting him in person is a sight to see from how bubbly he is vs his character. However, there's times you see Idia in the actor and think, "yup, that's idia."

Ortho is actually 17 years old and plays both Orthos. He has done small roles before and is excited to do a big role like this, especially with how mischievous Ortho is. Him and Epel have tag teamed the crew a lot with their adorable appearance.

Lilia is 15-16 years old and has his voice dubbed over. He enjoys the role very much and likes acting like a dotting father while being a rascal. He even continues to pretend to be the honorary dad behind the camera as a running joke. Doesn't like hanging upside down though.

The voice actor for Lilia is in his mid 30s and a father of two. He also enjoys his job and ad-libs dad jokes. There is a photo of the both Lilias posing together in Hawaii shirts.

Silver has t-posing energy, he's a goofball. If you watch him behind the scenes you will often go, "that's not Silver, how is he Silver?" from how funny and fun loving he is. But that's only after the scene is over. When he flips the switch, he will not break character until he hears cut.

Sebek got the role because of how loud his voice can get. He loves the role and how excited fans get to hear his Sebek voice. He's Ortho and Epel's get away driver aka picks them up and runs.

Malleus isn't different from his character with how calm and elegant he is. He's known for his theater performances and musicals. He likes how smug and adorable his character can get and often teases every Yuu that comes on.

Crewel is actually the actor from Obey Me, he played Lucifer (because you guys say they look the same).

Crowley is the world's okayest dad. He became a father during Book 1 and slowly started became the younger actors' dad on set. He often sees everyone watching him when his child shows up.

Trein is the honorary grandpa. He feels a connection with the professor and has the lecture the rascals a few times that they see Trein and not the actor.

Vargas is the uncle of the cast. If you fall sleep on set, he's the one covering you with a blanket, or giving you a piggyback to a more comfortable spot.

Sam is their local dealer... of snacks. He makes the best treats and feeds everyone between scenes. He's just like his character from how he can sudden pull out anything you need from his bag.

Grim is known for his voice on popular and beloved shows. And he really dedicated to his roles: if the character is sad, he's sad. If the character is angry, he's angry. He asked the director to gift him the Grim plushie when the show ends, just for a fan to gift him one during a panel. "My son," he whispered.

Fic I spent the most time on: I'm honestly not sure. Writing novella-length fics that require research is a (bad?) habit of mine. The most recent of those is All the Powders of the Merchant. ...It might be a still and woven blue though.

Fic I spent the least time on: ...I'm also not sure. I will say (confess?) that I just whipped The Hands File together for an informal Holmestice round without thinking about it too hard. It was fun!

Shortest fic: I have podfics, 3-sentence ficathon fills, and quite a few drabbles!

Most hits: and history immeasurably is wealthier (this is partly due to good timing, I think; the second season of Timeless had ended, and we were all excited by possibility and full of hope.)

Favorite Fic I Wrote: I usually answer The Craven Hive (we write fic for ourselves first and foremost, and this is my "the Holmes-Watson partnership is about everything that is most important in human relationships actually and here's how human love survives cataclysms and also I have a lot of feelings about WWI" fic.) I will also, though, mention that The House of Magic is the only fic for Guzaarish on AO3, and I'm proud of filling that void. Also, several other people have said they're glad it exists.

I've really been loving pez dispenser debris and I was wondering if you had any recs for for other bnha fics. I haven't really read other bnha fic before and I'm struggling to define what I'm looking for when I try to find more to read. Like I love the way Todoroku and Izuku interact in your fic. That kind of unhinged friendship that other people don't quite understand. And I love the way Mirio and Izuku intereact, just absolutely each others super fans. I also really enjoy Izuku having to deal with parts of his past being revealed that he never intended.

It's always fun when an author I adore writes for a different fandom than I usually read and suddenly I develop a craving for it.

So here’s some fics that kind of broadly fit into the categories you’re describing:

Unhinged friendship/relationships:

That time I got reincarnated as a doomed side character by gentrychild. I don't know if you're familiar with Isekai as like, a genre, but it basically tends to run along the premise of someone dying and being reborn into a fantastical world, with the world they're reborn into occasionally being a mirror of a franchise that the protagonist is familiar with. This fic runs along the same kind of premise, where Izuku is a boy from a non-Quirked world that has the BNHA world as a popular franchise (one that's very different from canon BNHA). However, he's never read the source material. This one has a lot of the vaguely crackish humor that mine does and it has plenty of unhinged relationships and dynamics in it, including one between Todoroki and Izuku. It's extremely funny, highly recommend.

More Like ENDEVIL, Amiright? by TheBabbleRabble. Ensemble Class 1-A shenanigans where they all collectively try to make Endeavor's life a living hell. All of the kids are very unhinged in this and the rest of the world is frightened. Very funny crack fic.

Date Me (For Justice) by Hayleythewriter. Midoriya and Todoroki embark on a fake dating scheme to raise queer visibility in the school due to the lack of support systems at UA. They are both in love with the other. Also extremely funny and all of the kids have a sort of zany dynamic between them.

Looping back to the beginning by Feneris. Class 1-A gets caught up in a time loop and decides to use this for amusement. All of them are very unhinged in a way that terrifies the world around them.

Mirio&Izuku Superfans:

I have pretty much nothing here that I can think of, whether it be between Izuku and Mirio or any other characters. Mirio in general doesn’t have a lot of fics where he’s the focus (that I’ve found).

I think the closest that I could recommend would be:

the see it all in bloom series by aloneintherain. Honestly, this series is so fun and well done that it’s worth the read no matter what. It’s a series of one shots that follows the Class 1-A kids (+ Shinsou - Mineta) after they're established pro heroes. It has a lot of the class supporting each other and cheering each other on as each other's fans, and it's delivered in a lot of the social media format that chapter 6 of pez dispensers uses.

hand-picked by pocketramblr. This does not have superfans so much but it does have Mirio and Izuku in a supportive friendship with each other. The premise is that, instead of a high school system, heroics works off of an apprenticeship model, and Izuku is All Might's first and only apprentice. Mirio is Nighteye's apprentice and he still adopts a senpai role with Izuku. I've found it difficult to find fics with a focus on Mirio and Izuku's friendship, and this is very much a fun universe and a fun take on Mirio and Izuku within it.

Both are really fun worlds to hang out in and I really recommend giving them a spin. That being said, neither of them have exactly the vibe of what Mirio and Izuku do in pez dispensers to me, so they may not be exactly what you’re looking for. In the sense that Mirio and Izuku in pez dispensers are walking around like "and I would like to thank god for putting me on this earth at the same time as this beautiful soul because it is honestly a blessing and an honor to breathe the same air as him." The energy is just a little different, but I can't think of a fic that has quite the same energy. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know.

Past Revealed:

things that haunt our hallways by ghostwriterofthemachine: this is less Izuku specifically and more the entire class (- Mineta). The fic follows from Aizawa’s point of view retrieving the Class 1-A students from a deserted, partially destroyed cityscape after they were accidentally hit by a haywire fear inducer Quirk during a rescue simulation. The first part of the fic follows him finding each student caught up in their own personal terrors, some hallucinating, some not. The second part of the fic is more recovery centric, with all of them going back to the dorms and comforting each other while the Quirk wears off. It’s very well written and has a very thorough understanding of each character.

those hardest to love need it the most by DancingInTheStorm. Honestly, DancingInTheStorm is a really solid bnha writer and it's worth it to check out all of their stuff. However, this one as the sort of aspect of it being a reveal fic about a lot of the issues surrounding Izuku's Quirklessness to Aizawa specifically.

Honesty's the (Best?) Policy by honeyandsunshine. Sero POV of taking care of an Izuku who's been hit by a Quirk that puts him in a state of lowered inhibitions and compulsive honesty. Tw for discussion of canon-typical suicide baiting/suicidal thoughts.

Agree with you guys that Leona's pretty lackluster when compared to Scar, so what are your thoughts on how the other OB boys compare to their inspirations? I think that the other six hold up pretty well in terms of living up to the legacy of the classic Disney villains they're inspired by, taking into account of course that Twst doesn't really have villains or even heroes. So they'll never be quite as extreme or simplistic in terms of evil as their inspos.

Hi Anon! I’m so glad that you agree with our thoughts on Leona. There was so much potential with Scar, so much traits and motifs to play around with, it really is unfortunate that we didn’t really get much of that.

And I agree with you about the other OB boys!

Maybe it’s because we’ve rewatched Hercules, the Little Mermaid and Aladdin fairy recently, but I feel like Idia, Azul and Jamil embody their Disney villain counterparts the best. With Idia, I didn’t see it well at first, but every now and then he opens his mouth, and you just can’t unsee Hades, the boy is straight-up quoting him lol It was also pretty fun to watch Ursula and just go “yep, that’s very Azul of her” the entire movie. Which sounds stupid, but still, makes sense….

I don’t remember much about the Queen of Hearts, but I feel like it’s pretty obvious Riddle is a great representation of her. Overall, these four nailed the vibes and quirks of their villain counterparts quite nicely.

I can’t say much about the Evil Queen either; it’s been years since I watched Snow White. But I think she was one of the trickiest ones, because the original movie is so old and her character is so, well, simplistic, with not as much to play around with. But it’s obvious that Toboso had a lot of fun with what she had, and managed to actually use a lot of motifs and influences from the movie in the Pomefiore chapter and Vil’s character.

As for Maleficent, well, we’ll see. She is one of my all-time faves too, so I’m looking at Malleus veeeery closely.

To be honest, all of this is saying a lot, because I usually really don’t like almost any reimagining of Disney villains or attempts at making them more human and nuanced. I am a big advocate of cartoony villains staying cartoony villains, but Toboso managed to keep twst boys, well, quite villainous and even nasty, while still having them nuanced enough so one could feel for them, relate to them and pity them. Their backstories don’t make them less unhinged, evil and fun.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that twst is very good at making us remember why we loved these villains in the first place, the charm and charisma is intact. But at the same time, it doesn’t heavily rely on the nostalgia factor, and the characters are very well written and independent enough to be loveable even if you don’t know the source material.

Before I get to that though, I must put down what they're dynamic is like with each other in general, just in case it hasn't been made very clear before hah. Long post below

As usual, Pico is the voice of reason out of the three, being the one who attempts to keep his partners out of trouble (that somehow works just half the time) if only because he's paranoid of the worst (overly exaggerated) outcomes possible. He's arguably shy to show his affection to his lovers, mostly in public areas, but when they're alone or somewhere he feels safe, the most he'd do is hesitate to give into a hug or lean against either one. He's not the one to initiate affection a lot, but if he's feeling upset or bothered, he won't wait to hide his face in Cherry's shoulder and hold her close, or sneaking beneath Keith's arms to hug his big teddy bear tight.

While he's not canon-BF silly, Keith is known for making rash decisions that one would normally think is a bad idea now and then, often trying to drag Pico and Cherry in along with him. Not to say he can't be responsible when it comes to serious matters, but he can goof off whenever things are smooth sailing, often out of curiosity or heat of the moment (literally). A lot of this can be a result of his ADHD, mostly when he forgets to take his pills from time to time. He never hesitates to initiate hugs or kisses anywhere, but he'll hold back in public for Pico's sake, knowing how the ginger-head feels about it. With Cherry he'll show his affection to her anytime, any place, even if it's the worst.

Cherry more or less lands somewhere between both her boys. She knows where Pico comes from when he warns or barks at Keith a warning when he suggests something questionable, but she's also easily swayed and influenced by her big lug (she can't stand seeing him make that heartbreaking :C face). That being said, she does have her limits to what she'll join Keith in. (No Keith, she's not gonna say yes to pranking and provoking Pico's angry neighbor next door with an airhorn by the door handle). Like Keith, she doesn't mind showing her affection to her lovers in public, but also holds back for Pico's comfort. She's very clingy with both of them when they're alone.

Cherry and Pico's dynamic is more tender and relaxed. With Keith, Cherry is more accommodating and kindle, eager to do whatever he suggests. With Pico, she feels more ascendant and wanting to make sure he's as comfortable as he can be and at peace; relaxed and pampered. She floods them both with gifts and kisses to show her affection.

Despite his tough outer defensive shell and dangerous efficiency to twist an arm and flip you over on your back with his bare hands even if you're twice his size, his lack of experience makes Pico become somewhat meek when it comes relationships, especially romantic-wise. Eventually, once he's more used and settled with the aforementioned, he'll have his moments of possessiveness and need to protect (and please) his partners, and like mentioned before, he won't hesitate to hold his lovers close or take a more prominent role when feeling trouble. Usually though, he's timid with both Keith and Cherry, sheepish but willing to cooperate with them both, and gradually loosen up.

Finally, Keith. With Pico, he knows when too much hugging, kissing or teasing is enough for the ginger, or when too little is not, in which the latter is rarely ever the case. You could say he's gentle in his way of caring and loving, but he knows when the ginger-head is up for some rough play or bombardment of dad jokes. With Cherry he's unhinged, and she loves it. Not to say they don't also have their soft moments, but you're more likely to find these two stealing a kiss whenever they get the chance to (even if it's the least appropriate place for one). They can't keep their hands or eyes off each other unless their parents are around (in that case, they're lady and gentleman. Cue Pico facepalming whenever they go from excited dogs to well-mannered cats in a matter of seconds once either party's parents step in the room.) Overall, Keith is always up to make his both partners content and happy, however he can, however they want : )

You suggesting the feather accessories made me think about Avian Hybrids!CoraLaw. Or, well, a Wings!AU.

- Cora has black swan wings and Doffy has flamingo wings (the only time I'll ever include this dude in my AUs. I avoid this mf cuz I'm starting to like him 😭). Idk what to give Law lmao–

- Cora's wings are huge. Like, 260cm/8'6ft. They're also waterproof, he uses them to cover the people from the rain.

- Law's wings are sensitive, so he doesn't like people touching them unless he gives them permission and consent to do so. Cora is an exception tho, Law even reaches out himself so Cora would touch them (No, Bepo isn't jealous. Of course he isn't.. whaaaat. He's totally okay with sharing his pseudo blanket with Cora..!!! That's a lie. Bepo is sulking in the corner while listening to Uta's songs).

- When it's Cora's time to moult in the summer, Law usually takes him flying when he wants/needs to. It's Law's favourite part of every summer, he gets to have Cora in his arms as he takes them flying. Law also helps toss out the old feathers, but some of them are gonna be used and turn into coats for the both of them.

- As you mentioned, feather accessories! I love those omg, thank you for suggesting them!! Cora has a single earring with Law's feather dangling from it. Law has a feather of Cora's attached to Kikoku and another as an earring.

- Law's wings are warmer than Cora's (that's the real reason why Bepo likes sleeping next to Law, trust me /j), so Cora likes to be the little spoon most of the time, just so he could feel Law's warm wings engulf him (they rarely spoon each other, they look like the type to sleep with their backs flat on the mattress). Law's wings are 210cm/6'10 ft, taller than himself when tucked in (Yes I did use the height comparison website on Google lmao).

(...Nah I'm not gonna give their wings width measurements, I'm too lazy for that and it's 5am)

- And because Cora's wings are huge, it makes him hard to stay balanced and upright. Falling means he starts panicking, panicking means his wings starts flailing, his wings flailing means knocking off whatever it is near him and slapping people in the face lol. He tries to tuck them in as close as possible.

I might expand this because I love it sm, but right now I ran out of ideas. You could add your own btw! My AUs are everyone's AUs xD. Enjoy and have a great day/night!

I went from thinking he seemed cool when he was first introduced to being Big Mad at the sight of him, with him killing Cora and. all that. I'm still glad he got got, but he is a fun character. 😂)

I wish I knew more Bird Facts so I could give a suggestion for Law... all I can think of right now is some kind of hawk... ooo or maybe a vulture?

God, Law still being such a SIMP with his wings 😂 and letting Cora get near them.... (hahaha I see those Bepo cameos... man if I wasn't so down bad for Cora I would throw in more with the law/bepo crew. full respect there). Also Law putting a feather on Kikoku!!!!! Ohhhh the mental image of that is so good.... Like, Law subtly showing that Cora is part of the reason he fights....

Ahhh also thinking about Cora being so used to trying to make his wings as small as possible and not inconvenience anyone with them, but one time Law makes a point to take them somewhere with a wide, open space and ask to see them... Or Cora has to fly them somewhere for the first time while running from Marines/some group that's not worth staying and fighting. And Law is just!!! awed!! at the sight of them!!! I know clumsiness is part of Cora's charm, but based on that mission where he stole the op-op fruit, we know he can be really coordinated and stealthy when needed. So, like, when he finally makes full use of his wings, maybe he's one of the fastest/swiftest flyers Law has seen.

You make the mistake of assuming he's at his desk, as usual, hunched over documents or staring at test tubes, maybe fixing some of the problem bobbles that are dumped at his door. Standard stuff.

What you're not likely to know, as his partner and effectively someone he wishes to shield at all costs, is that Patches is perhaps the staff member requested by his boss the most. And you can't simply deny the god that employed you, not without harsh punishment afterwards. If Krulu wishes to see him in their floor, the dullahan has no choice but to get off his green ass and go there.

So imagine his complete dread and pleasurable shock as, on the elevator ride down to Krulu's dwelling, Patches starts to feel an insistent rubbing sensation on his crotch. Of course he gets hard, in moments even. Because it's depraved. Because he knows this is your doing, you caught him red-handed. And you know who else is about the catch him red-handed? The siadar. You've just gotten him in one of the most humiliating messes of his life, which unfortunately, only makes the magic caster twitch in anticipation. " No! N-No no- I'm so s-sorry! " If it was hard to speak before, then the moment Patches feels something vibrate against him he collapses to his knees, curling pathetically, hat shoved against his head so he can muffle the ecstatic cries being forced out of him. " Didn't k-know- Ahhn! This- Would fff- Happen! " It's not a lie, he genuinely wasn't counting on it.

He senses more so than hears the higher circling him like a shark.

" I would call you loathsome if I did not already know it pleasures you more. "

Patches only keens weakly in response, feeling the start of his orgasm creep up his body. What are you doing to him? Out of nowhere, a massive, clawed foot that could only belong to the gargantuan form of the Siadar settles on his pumpkin-head, applying pressure steadily.

It makes his mind ring unpleasantly, but the pain mixed with the swift stimulus to his leaking cock only heightens the experience, providing the last push necessary to drive him over the edge. The dullahan's scream of pleasure cuts off abruptly as his head is promptly caved in, smashed to disgusting chunks on the ebony floors.

I'm torn on how to make Mitsuri slightly... obsessive. like is it more accurate for her to be the obsessive type but with all smiles and question her moral compass before and during her chaotic phase but feel completely satisfied after? like she could torture a demon for information regarding douma and not feel a sense of regret because it's a step closer to saving Shinobu? (this is for a fic btw I'm sorry if it's confusing 😭)

or whenever she has her obsessive tendencies she'll do a whole flip and become deadly calm that rivals even Giyuu's quietness and just smiles once before murdering someone and then back to a temporary poker face after? (She'll go back to her usual jolly self after the high comes down).

I suck at writing sunshine characters going obsessed, so it'll really help if you have some tips. Also I've read some of your fics and they're absolutely nice! Horrific especially with the very gray gray characters. Have a good day! : )))))

Oh I'm so here for obsessive Mitsuri (but tbh any characters being fucking obsessed with their SOs is one of my favorite things)

Admittedly, the only time I've written Mitsuri being high key unhinged and very possessive/obsessive with her SOs has been for my role swap AU where she's a demon, so any potential guilt over her actions is kind of nullified due to that

However, I do really, really like the angle of Mitsuri being deadly calm and not really giving a fuck about what she does for the sake of someone she loves, but then turning around and being so sweet and bubbly immediately after with the target of her affections. Like, the 180 in her demeanor is so jarring to anyone seeing it it's almost comparable to whiplash. But basically, Mitsuri having the whole angle of "it's for someone I love, and nothing is more important than love, so I'll do whatever I have to, and I shouldn't feel guilty for it"

I think it also helps that she's targeting demons. It makes it easier to absolve any potential guilt she might have

Essentially, when it comes to working with Mitsuri committing dicey actions and being Questionably Obsessed with Shinobu, I think the best way to go about it is to fall heavy onto Mitsuri just wanting someone to love/for them to love her, and being willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she keeps that now that she has it. Best way to do it is to take those canon motivations and push them to the brink! Keeps everyone feeling in character, and like you're just seeing the most extreme version of them
