(ALMOST) PASSING OUT IN FRONT OF THEM gn!reader

can be seen as either platonic or romantic, if i used any gender/pronouns please do lmk! I try to keep most of my work gender neutral but once in a while i’ll still make some mistakes!!

characters included: Amber, Cyno, Diluc, Ganyu, Heizou, Xiao,

warnings: passing out/fainting, overworked reader, poor mental and physical health for xiao’s.

AMBER

Oh she’s the sweetest of them all

Would try to catch you before you fall

Takes you back to the Knights or Barbara for help

Amber was busy talking with some of the Mondstadt citizens she didn’t realise the way you swayed a little on your feet. You’ve been feeling unwell since last night but you didn’t want to let Amber know, she had been so excited to be partnered up with you for the mission there was no way you could break her heart!

“…Amber,” your voice called out weakly, the ground started spinning, black spots appearing in your vision.

Hearing your somewhat pained voice, the outrider immediately turned her attention to you, she was quick enough to catch you before your head hit the ground.

“ah! oh no, i’m so sorry!!” Amber panicked for a while before reminding herself that the two of you were in Mondstadt and not some place far away with danger lurking right at the corner.

Breathing out a soft sigh, she would excuse herself and take you to Barbara for a check up.

CYNO

If you were expecting him to just drag you to ghandharva vile for Tighnari then you guessed right.

Except not the part where he drags you though.

Being Cyno’s assistant was a tough job, especially when you haven’t even graduated yet. It just happened all of a sudden, you only remember him asking you to follow him… and ‘till now you’re still following him.

Dashing through the streets of Sumeru city, you finally made it to the place you had agreed to meet your mentor with. You had stayed up until early morning studying for your upcoming exam, you couldn’t fail, not when Cyno put so much faith and trust in you. Your stomach growled hungrily, perhaps you should have grabbed something to eat…

“You’re here, let’s go.” The two of you set out immediately, after all it would be an extremely busy day today.

You had just finished taking out a group of fatui when a wave of dizziness washed over you. Leaning down, you gripped onto the wooden boxes for support.

ah no, this can’t be happening now…

Amidst your pain, you failed to notice the way Cyno came over to you full of concern. He wrapped an arm around your shoulder, trying to get you to look at him.

“…what’s wrong?” His voice is a lot more gentle now compared to his usual tone.

“Cyno, i’m sorry- I don’t think I can…” Your sentence was cut short as you whimpered at the pain.

Cyno had no idea how you ended up in this situation, you had looked completely fine this morning… albeit you did look a little tired. Pulling you into his lap, the two of you sat together.

Occasionally a hand would come up to play with your hair or rub circles on your back. You would stay like that, against Cyno’s chest until you felt well enough to walk.

He would bring you to Tighnari, often stopping to give you a rest and some time to catch your breath.

DILUC

Now unlike the previous two, you actually passed out from getting drunk.

Diluc would 100% find a way to blame Kaeya for getting you tipsy, even if he had completely nothing to do with

Carries you bridal style, places a kiss on your forehead and pills for when you wake up on the bedside table.

This was… the fifth? no, sixth- actually it could be the seventh glass of dandelion wine you had.

Before coming to the tavern you had promised Diluc you wouldn’t get wasted… well—

You were laughing your head off while saying some incoherent words. Diluc looked at you, a part of him was concerned and the other part just wanted to strangle you to death.

“Charles, i’ll leave the rest to you.”

A pair of warm hands pulled you out of the Angels Share. Making sure you were close to him at all time, the two of you walked to Dawn Winery.

Stumbling on your own feet, you fell face first onto the ground before bursting out in a fit of laughter. Diluc rushed to check you for injuries. Not finding any, he could only smile softly at your beautiful laughter.

“We’re almost there, can you still walk?” Diluc helped you get into a sitting position.

Seeing that you were completely wasted, he had no choice but to pick you up. The rest of the journey back was full of your drunken jokes.

After sometime of walking, Diluc realised you were sound asleep.

Tucking you under the sheets, he placed a cup of water and hangover pills on the bedside table for when you’d wake.

Just before he left, he brushed your hair out of your face, giving your forehead a gentle peck.

GANYU

This girl’s overworked herself

If you passed out she’d probably lie next to you and fall asleep.

Either that or bring you back to your house.

“And we’re done!” You announced after finishing the traveler’s third commission.

“Last one is… quite some distance away.” Ganyu pointed out.

The traveler was busy attending to things in Mondstadt, leaving you and Ganyu with the task of completing her dailies. And due to her absence it seems you will no longer be able to use the teleport waypoints.

ah, what a hassle

You could have sworn you sleepwalked a bit, your legs felt heavy as you yawned again. The both of you had been walking for almost an hour, you just wanted to sleep.

As if on cue, your body decides to let you. Instantly, your limp body fell onto the grass, asleep.

“oh, ah… I guess you’re asleep.” After some contemplation, Ganyu laid down next to you.

The two of you soon fell asleep side by side… in the middle of Liyue.

Keqing eventually found the both of you though.

HEIZOU

Tries to shake you awake

Stays with you until you wake up

Would 100% take leave and care for you if needed

Heizou pulled his hair in frustration, this was by far one of the most complex cases he had received. Not only did the both of you spend restless nights going through the case but the fact that it had been almost two weeks since he first received the commission got you two on the edge of your toes.

“No, we’ve already tried this. C’mon, what are we missing?” You muttered out, clearly irritated.

Digging through the pile of papers in front of you, your eyes landed on the building in which the case occurred.

but i’ve already checked that place with detective Heizou at least five times before…

Resting your head in your hands, you felt hopeless. How could this be? You’ve never gone this long without a breakthrough before. Never.

Some time passed before you packed your bag and decided to go back to the abandoned building to take another look.

After all, some secrets only reveal themself in the darkness of the night.

The floorboards creaked beneath you, retracing your steps, you couldn’t help but feel like something was different.

“!!”

There was a plastic file sitting atop a stack of books you were sure weren’t there the last few times you came by.

Did someone just put it here? It seems relatively clean compared to the rest of the house.

Carefully you skimmed through the pages, using your kamera to take pictures of them.

So this is why we were deadlocked for so long…

Sitting down on the old couch, you took your time in reading and reviewing all the new information. Undoubtedly, time passed really fast when you were engrossed in the papers.

“Ah there you are!” Your partner’s voice snapped you out of your reverie.

“heh had a feeling i’d find you here, so what did ya find?” Squeezing himself next to you, he flipped through each and every page thoroughly.

Now that the only thing keeping you awake was out of your grasp, the restlessness of staying up all night finally took a toll on your body.

As you started to drift off to sleep, your head lay limp on Heizou’s shoulder.

A shocked expression came across the detectives face, although that soon turned into a sly smirk. Gently, he moved your head from his shoulder to his lap.

That’s better.

XIAO — f!reader

Tries to stay calm but probably ends up freaking out.

Gets Ver to help, or Zhongli.

He will 100% stay by your side and look after you a lot more once you wake up.

Since the death of your parents, you had been spiraling in and out of depression. You’ve been cooped up in your room all day, only eating when someone reminds you.

The last time you had stepped out into the sun was… some months ago. Anyone who looked at you could see how pale and skinny you were. Almost like a zombie(no offence to Qiqi).

Some of your friends came to visit but after a while they eventually left you there in your room, all alone.

A flash of green behind you told you that Xiao had come back. “It’s almost the lantern rite… come watch it with me.”

Xiao looked at your almost lifeless body, he had turned down the traveler’s offer, hoping you’d go with him instead.

“…no thank you…” Your voice trembled a bit as tears rolled down your cheeks. It seems that someone does remember you after all.

Before you knew it, Xiao had appeared in front of you with a cup of water and a bowl of soup. After helping you into a sitting position, he slowly spoon fed you the food.

He couldn’t stand the way your happy and adventurous self was now gone, leaving you a weak and helpless mortal. To live and get by on your own wouldn’t be easy, he made sure to check on you every few days but this time…

Zhongli had asked a very important task from him, one that he could not turn down. He had no idea it would take him an entire week to complete it.

An expression of guilt appeared on his face, if he had focused more on the task, maybe he would have been able to see you, check on you. Then your health wouldn’t have deteriorated to this state.

After some persuading from Xiao you finally agreed to go see the lanterns with him, but only if he stayed with you the entire time.

Leaving your room, he let you change and get ready. A sense of fear and dread crept up his spine, was this what’s best for you? Could he be asking too much?

His train of thoughts was soon interrupted by you opening the door. You wore a long white dress, much like a hospital gown. There were eminent dark circles under your eyes.

Xiao grimaced at the sight of your frail body. Taking your hand in his, he teleported the both of you atop Yujing Terrace.

the fireworks are beautiful

A ghost of a smile could be seen on your seemingly monotone face.

Once the show was over, Xiao suggested taking a walk around the harbour. After all, it’s been so long since you last saw Liyue if not the four walls of your house.

A hand in his, you struggled to keep up with his pace, even though he was walking exceedingly slow.

You consoled yourself, it was nothing much to worry about.

Barely a few steps later, you could feel the way your heart pounded loudly in your ears. Your steps getting sloppier and your vision becoming limited.

It doesn’t matter how many times you tried blinking the ‘fatigue’ away.

Soon, your frail body couldn’t handle it anymore. Without warning, you collapsed to the ground in a heap. Breathing erratic and laboured.

Xiao immediately knelt down next to you, shaking your limp body. It felt like all eyes were on him, soon enough a mass of people surrounded the two.

Picking you up, he teleported to the Wangsheng funeral parlour.

“Oh! vigilant yaksha, what brings y- !!” The ferry lady saw your trembling body in his hands and made a move to get acloser look at the hat had happened.

“No! Stay away from her!” A dark aura surrounded him.

Backing away, she immediately went to find Zhongli.

“Here, eat this…” Not long after you woke up, Xiao already started formulating a plan to help you get better.

He even went as far as asking Ganyu and the traveler to keep you company while he was busy. Suffice to say, you rarely even went a day without Xiao by your side.

Zhongli

Morax was your longest known worshipper - though none known previously how he got to know you, it was only common knowledge that he did worship you in his time of when he was still but a young adeptus

But of course doubts started to spiral once death came-whether it was from his wrath or another being's own bloodthirst

Was it meant to happen?

Morax would ask himself that same question-as he watches both his acquaintances and rivals die in front of his eyes

He was sort of angry at you-cursed you silently(not wanting to be known for disrespecting you but he did it quietly)

Yet the geo-scaled Archon despite those doubts and trials--He, then matured over the decades he walked in Teyvat his faith in you stood still like the mountains made by geo he made all over the shores of Liyue

plus... Barbatos's 'fact' as the winged-archon would like to call it seemed a bit insulting and he somehow wanted to prove the latter wrong despite knowing its not worth wasting his energy for more important matters

In his time of living among the mortals of Liyue he understood that every thing was meant to happen

He exhaled ;sipping the tea as he watches the lanterns dance among Teyvat's sky

though his victories from the past did haunt him-- Zhongli was finally at peace,knowing that his nation were thriving and advancing without the need of Rex lapis

but what made him feel even more relaxed was the presence of what you'd call 'divine'

Zhongli's golden eyes squinted as if instinctively trying to find something he'd like to think he'd seen before

Your acolyte smiled from afar looking fondly at the docks of Liyue of where you stood with the traveller and a sea of his people

Xiao

Your presence was educated by Morax to him when Alatus was recently just saved by the hands of the cruel god

'the all mighty Creator of Teyvat'

what was so special about you?that made Rex lapis himself worship you

Not to ask that question in a tone which a certain anemo-winged archon used--but one of piqued curiousity

He always wondered about your existence whether during his time with the other yaksha's or even after their passing..

Though he could ask Morax--he'd rather not seeing how the Geo archon had his own responsibilities to deal with

No matter Xiao leaves the subject on the back of his mind and sighed as his pain continues to course through his body

For now.. as your acolyte Xiao can only say that he has respect for you for at least helping him save the people who reside in the harbour through the Traveler or through him

But can he really be satisfied with just that after witnessing your arrival at the harbour-well the answer is.. no

not when the karmic dept that the young Yaksha held for so long almost instantly disappears at the sight of your divine gaze that reflected the lanterns of Liyue

Baizhu

Since birth he was always physically weak and as the years passed by his health also weakened mentally

Baizhu wouldn't say he's a Saint like his regular customers would like to see him as-rather he see's himself as a human-and there was no doubt he was

Greed

Some people say he had that quality-and he would frown at the notion,, but can you really blame him when not careful anytime could be a dead end for the sickly man

Although the mint haired man would always feel guilty on taking advantage of Qiqi's immortality despite doing it over again--

However when you finally arrived in Teyvat Baizhu thought he would feel immense guilt the moment he mentioned about his endeavours and his reason of taking care of Qiqi--plus the fact that he treated you as you were human instead of the Creator

The mint haired man would always apologise for all the troubles he's been giving you this past hour

But instead you reassured him-well awkwardly patted him at the back is what you did-- but it was enough to quell his tears

Such a kindness shouldn't be unrewarded.. (though he Baizhu knows he's not in place to reward-but to show his faithfulness to you)he would offer himself as one of your acolytes to honor you with his body

Ganyu

The news of the Creator's arrival on Teyvat had been a shock to the people Liyue and to her as well-but it wasn't unwelcomed!

she was part of the beings who prepared the festival for you! Though not her money nor' the idea-Ganyu was glad to be working full time on the project assigned to her

She didn't need any rest and definitely didn't want to if its for you!Though your insistence of her resting will make her blink her eyes in confusion to shift to one of embarrassment ;saying she didn't need to

But with your offer that you'd let her lay down on your lap made her want to reconsider the offer

Shenhe

Cloud retainer had spoken about you through times of when she was but a child taken in by the crane adeptus

Shenhe had a feeling in her heart, though she couldn't describe it-- andit felt absolutely horrible,, something about you appearing before her, what made you show yourself now?! She couldn't explain the reason why she felt this way

Maybe it was about her childhood that was sacrificed once her father sent her to die in the hands of a demon

It was your lack of presence in one's time of need that made her somewhat feel ill about you

She hated the feeling once it showed in her stomach,she herself never wanted to feel like that when seeing you in a physical form

Though she stayed quiet at your visit-though no glaring was seen in her eyes Cloud retainer could feel the small rage that Shenhe was having behind those ropes that bind the white haired girl

But even she, knows that another feeling was bubbling up as you held her hands with a soft gentle smile for her

Perhaps she'd like to get know you in a different light if ever possible

Ningguang

As a child she struggled but she did her best to thrive in the streets of Liyue while praying that you'd make her your favourite acolyte-And she did become at least one of them

With grace and gratitude she welcomed you and traveler with open arms, Announcing her opening speech,, she stands at her most beloved magnum opus;The Jade Chamber

Pantalone

A true man of greed..but can you really blame him?as a child he struggled to even find a single penny to feed himself, eating only the crumbs that the people of the harbour dropped so carelessly

As he hates the Geo archon for not giving a single mora to him and what makes it worse that it didn't make you any different from the archon that the sea of people seem to worship so much

Where were you and the God of Contracts when he needed both of you??

He scoffed at the news of your arrival, though with newly found wealth, Pantalone didn't seem all that smiley today-in fact he had a frown all day long making others question his sudden change of expression

The black haired man told them the reason calmly-but they could tell that there was a venomous tone on the tip of his toungue

Pierro shakes his head in a disapproving way,he was acting a bit childish he knows-by the way the ginger's expression also became dark even when Tartaglia just had a laughing fit

The banker looked in the eyes of his comrades and of the Cryo archon

Just as the Northland's bank currencies are the tears of the gamblers that had set their money on pride and the blood of the poor who spent their last breath trying to gain a single mora

Maybe you'd like to earn his forgiveness that weight off a million-no-

A lifeline worth of mora would make him him forgive you as long you'll comply to every one of his desires

You catching them wearing your clothes

Characters: Ganyu/Hu Tao/Mona x gn!reader (separate)

Warnings: none, just fluff

a/n: I love this request, thanks a lot for sending it in, especially since I imagine the three characters to have very different reactions

Originally planned to make a Bo Burnham reference for Mona's part, since the "prolonged eye-contact" meme got stuck in my head while writing it, but I eventually decided against it, because I would never do weird references *nervous laughter*.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Ganyu

When work required you to travel for a couple of days, Ganyu once again found herself coming home to an empty apartment. And while she ought to have been used to it, having lived alone for a very long time, she quickly found herself getting lonely. Normally you’d be there to greet her whenever she returned from work, letting her instantly fall into your arms and relax while cuddling, but with you gone, all that remained were things that reminded her of you. Your mug, your side of the bed… and your clothes.

At first, Ganyu couldn’t help but feel embarrassed whenever she put on your shirt, but while it smelled nothing like you, having been recently washed, it still allowed her to relax and feel more at home, causing the days until your return to fly by.

When Ganyu heard the sound of your keys opening the door, she immediately got exited, dropping whatever she had been doing up until that point before rushing to the door like a dog that had been waiting for their owner to return. The moment you stepped foot into the apartment and your eyes landed on her, you opened your arms before embracing her in a hug, only realising what shirt she was wearing after you eventually pulled back.

“Isn’t that mine?”, you finally asked, your question confusing Ganyu until she followed your stare and noticed what you were talking about, causing her face to immediately heat up as a plethora of apologies started to come out of her mouth.

“I-I’m sorry, I m-missed you and so I borrowed your- I know I shouldn’t have done so without asking first, but you weren’t here, so I-”, she tried to stutter out a response, only to cut herself off and starting from scratch a couple of times.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine”, you eventually interrupted her panic induced ramble, causing you to immediately get her attention as she got silent. “It suits you”, you added with a smile, before you knew it, her cheeks got even redder, only for her to hug you once again, hiding her face in the process.

“I’m glad you’re back”, she eventually mumbled, causing your smile to get even wider as you put one of your hands on her head.

“Me too.”

Mona

While Mona would honestly rather die than admit it, there were times when she liked to pick one of your shirts out of your closet and put it one while reading one of her books about astrology. Not because they reminded her of you or anything, they simply were more comfortable to wear, that’s all. And while she knew better than to use her astrology for something silly, she couldn’t help but feel tempted to check when you’d arrive home, not wanting to you to catch her in your clothes.

After finally finishing the new book about astrology she had bought recently, Mona sat it down on the coffee table before standing up and stretching her back. She couldn’t exactly remember when she began reading, but once she started, she found herself unable to stop, finishing it in a single session. But just as she grabbed it, intending to put it to the other books in her room, Mona was interrupted by the sound of the door opening, causing her eyes to immediately glance to the clock, realising in horror that she had focused on the book for a bit too long. Before she had the chance to move, your eyes had already landed on her, displaying confusion at first before quickly being filled with amusement.

“D-Don’t say a word!”, Mona immediately blurted out, her face immediately turning red, reminding you of that animal, that was able to change colours to camouflage itself, that you had recently read about. Deciding not to mention your thoughts, you remained silent. “Stop grinning like an idiot!”, she eventually demanded, causing you to playfully roll your eyes.

“You have to say ‘Simon says’ first”, you jokingly responded, only to shut up when Mona’s glare landed on you.

“My clothes were dirty, so I borrowed out a shirt of yours. I can’t run around the home half naked after all, I’m not a degenerate”, she explained, obviously making it up on the spot, but luckily for her, you didn’t feel like teasing her further about it, deciding that she had already done enough.

“Mhm, makes sense. Sorry for misunderstanding”, you stated, trying your best not to make your sarcasm too obvious, only for Mona to let out a sigh of relief before quickly changing back to her usual behaviour.

“You better be.”

Hu Tao

Hu Tao was a thief with not shame. There wouldn't be a single day none of your shirts vanished out of your wardrobe, only to magically appear on the funeral director, and you hadn't even mentioned the socks yet. Sometimes you weren’t sure if she did it solely to annoy you, or because she actually liked them, but you had long learned not to question what was happening in that head of hers.

When you came home from work, the first thing you noticed were Hu Tao’s shoes, meaning she had finished work first. The second thing you noticed was your favourite shirt… being worn by the prankster calling herself your girlfriend.

“Oh, welcome back. I hope you didn’t miss me too much while at work”, she jokingly greeted you with a small wave and a chuckle, only to give you a confused look when she noticed you had yet to respond.

“It seems to me like I didn’t miss you as much as you did me”, you eventually stated, causing Hu Tao to tilt her head in confusion for a split second before realising what you were talking about, her lips instantly forming a wide smile once she did, causing you to get more confident in your theory that at least a huge part of her motivation for stealing your clothes was to annoy you.

“Aya, are you talking about our shirt? I have to commend you for your taste in clothes, it’s really comfortable.”

“’Our shirt’?”, you repeated, hoping she’d explain a little further what exactly she meant with that, especially the part where your clothes became both of your property. Instead, the only reaction you got out of her, was an excited “exactly”, forcing you to think of another way to approach the subject.

“So I could just put on that hat you like to wear if I wanted to, since it’s ours?”, you asked, only for her smile to widen even more, making you wonder how that was even possible.

“Of course not, that’s my hat”, Hu Tao explained, causing you to let out a sigh before collapsing onto the couch, deciding that questioning her logic was pointless, eventually closing your eyes and trying your best to relax.
